Alright I wanted to post this before Genshin's Natlan update tonight ✨️ I wanted to revamp my Genshin OC before hoyo retconned everything I headcanoned for them 😂
So enjoy Chimalli's new design! This character has meant so much to me since I came up with them back during the Sumeru release.
HC Lore / Playstyle dump below:
Chimalli - Shield of the Sun King
Genshin Player Card bg by Chie Minako on Twitter
He / They
Natlan
🔥5* Pyro Support / Sub DPS
🔥Basic: Temple Patrol - Four consecutive sword strikes, on the 5th strike, Chimalli turns their sword into flames. This lasts for 5 seconds or another consecutive 4 strikes, whichever times out first.
🔥Skill: Comandante's Resolve - Chimalli's skill emits a pyro field that scales off their ATK and agros nearby enemies. Enemies within the pyro field cannot disengage or heal during the duration of the skill.
🔥Burst: Blessing of the Sun King - Like Chimalli's Skill, their Q releases a pyro AOE that last for 12 secs. This AOE scales again off of Chimalli's ATK, and delivers continuous pyro damage as well as a Crit Rate increase of 7% (this effect can stack). Chimalli can be off-field during their burst. While playable characters are in the Pyro AOE, they cannot take damage.
🔥Passive: Increased speed during the day :>

jaf characters as drawn by me vs ai generated with artflow vs ai generated by artbreeder
the obvious drawback for comparison here is that i usually draw them more stylized than realistic and while i do have realistic busts for Most of them somewhere its mostly uncolored pencil drawings from high school so i went with the more recent headshots for uniformness
so which ai did a better job for each character!
gee v: im gonna say artflow since the colors are better and she looks Softer but neither rly look much like gee since ai art is allergic to young fat ppl
amarante v: artbreeder 100%. aside from the hairstyling artbreeder’s face here is actually pretty accurate. but also the artflow one is so incredibly off its barely a competition
vin v: artbreeder as well. the face is like spot on to how i imagine them looking. its like a casting photo to me. artflow has the Color down better but im owed $300 for them yassifying my blorbo
dax g: artbreeder but both are pretty off. artflow jst could not make a latino man without making him Aged. dax is twenty. artbreeder’s at least looks like a person but they dont rly read as dax to me much
lane l: artbreeder ig but these both suck. again ai art is allergic to fat ppl. at least artbreeder’s looks Chubby but he does not look like lane
ruth l: artflow. artbreeder at least Approached the fact that ruth is fat but artflow did give her her proper butch punk slay
randy b: artbreeder’s is probably more accurate but points to artflow for the slay again. both are slightly off in opposite ways bfkgn
zoey c: artbreeder 100%. i hate how badly artflow struggles w poc. artbreeder’s looks Close but i could not get her dreads to appear. her face is p close but i imagine her nose would be wider and her lips a little fuller
all in all both ais are incredibly frustrating to use bc of their unpredictability and especially as someone who can do realism at least somewhat. artflow’s is a very vague behind-the-curtain process, and artbreeder’s sliders are so impenetrable. what the fuck is -100% hat. the clothes sliders dont even add glasses or hats or makeup and the only sliders for features are gender, age, and race which is so unuseful like. why not jst have sliders for features on their own (skin color, nose width, jaw width, wrinkles, hair length, etc) that can be much more useful than jst an ai’s approximation of fucking racial sliders. like the problems here are fairly obvious from an ethical standpoint but also from a usability standpoint. either or.
#idea blatantly from izroulia who did this a few days ago#i had done the artflow ones last year but hadnt heard of artbreeder#ai art#ai generated+#ai art+#just a few#gee v#amarante v#vin v#dax g#lane l#ruth l#randy b#zoey c#my posts#my ocs#sometimes i can make overly long dashboard-clogging posts. just for me#also im not touching the ai art debate but my 2 cents is that i think its jst a fad thatll pass in a couple years tbh and its not coder's#fault the art biz is so ruthless under capitalism

Exploring the Rich Brews: Specialty Coffee and Tea Shops in the Middle East
Introduction:
The Middle East is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions, and exquisite cuisines. Among its many culinary delights, specialty coffee and tea have emerged as prominent players in the region's gastronomic landscape. In recent years, the Middle East Food Service Market has witnessed a significant surge in the popularity of specialty coffee and tea shops, reflecting a growing appreciation for artisanal beverages and unique flavor profiles. Let's embark on a journey through the aromatic realms of specialty coffee and tea in the Middle East, exploring the distinctive establishments that have captivated the senses of locals and travelers alike.
The Rise of Specialty Coffee and Tea Culture:
Traditionally, the Middle East has been synonymous with the consumption of rich, dark coffee brewed in the traditional Arabic style. However, with evolving consumer preferences and a burgeoning café culture, the region has embraced the global trend of specialty coffee and tea. This shift has led to the emergence of a diverse array of boutique cafes and tea houses, each offering a unique blend of flavors, ambiance, and hospitality.
Exploring the Enclaves of Flavor:
From the bustling streets of Beirut to the majestic cityscapes of Dubai, specialty coffee and tea shops have become integral parts of the Middle Eastern urban experience. Let's delve into some of the notable establishments that have carved a niche for themselves in this thriving market:
Café Younes (Beirut, Lebanon):
Nestled in the heart of Beirut, Café Younes holds the distinction of being Lebanon's oldest specialty coffee roaster. Since its inception in 1935, this iconic café has been a beacon for coffee aficionados, offering an extensive range of single-origin beans and meticulously crafted brews. With its warm ambiance and commitment to quality, Café Younes continues to attract discerning patrons seeking a truly exceptional coffee experience.
Arabica (Dubai, UAE):
With its sleek, minimalist design and emphasis on sustainability, Arabica has emerged as a trailblazer in Dubai's specialty coffee scene. Drawing inspiration from Japan's third wave coffee movement, this boutique café sources its beans from renowned coffee-growing regions around the world, ensuring unparalleled freshness and flavor. Whether indulging in a handcrafted pour-over or savoring a traditional matcha latte, visitors to Arabica are treated to a multisensory journey of taste and aroma.
Jaf Tea Lounge (Amman, Jordan):
Situated in the historic district of Jabal Al-Weibdeh, Jaf Tea Lounge is a sanctuary for tea enthusiasts seeking refuge from the bustle of urban life. This charming tea house offers an extensive selection of premium teas sourced from the lush plantations of Sri Lanka, expertly brewed to perfection. From delicate green teas to robust black blends, Jaf Tea Lounge caters to every palate, inviting guests to unwind and savor the timeless ritual of tea drinking.
The Middle East Food Service Market: A Beacon of Opportunity:
As the demand for specialty coffee and tea continues to soar across the Middle East, the region's food service market presents a wealth of opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors. With a young, dynamic population and a penchant for culinary innovation, countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates are prime destinations for expansion in the specialty beverage sector. By leveraging local tastes and preferences while embracing global trends, businesses can tap into this lucrative market and contribute to the flourishing culinary landscape of the Middle East.
Conclusion:
In the mosaic of Middle Eastern cuisine, specialty coffee and tea shops add a rich layer of diversity and sophistication, inviting patrons to embark on a sensory journey steeped in tradition and innovation. As the region's food service market continues to evolve, these establishments serve as bastions of creativity and craftsmanship, celebrating the timeless allure of a perfectly brewed cup. Whether seeking a moment of tranquility amidst the chaos of urban life or simply indulging in the pleasure of good company, specialty coffee and tea shops in the Middle East Food Service Market offer an oasis of flavor and hospitality, enriching the culinary tapestry of the region for generations to come.

So I just read your little Eddie and Gareth friendship Ficlet with trans Gareth which was so wonderful and lovely and cute - and I’ve had this fact for ages but Gareth was one of the knights of the round table and that’s always been my personal HC for how he chose his name! (Like it’s more socially acceptable than Lancelot but still a nod to old folk tales!!)
Knight Gareth is wonderful!! I love that! I can very much see him making paladin characters for Hellfire names Gareth in shiny armor before he changes his name and drawing doodles of what it basically him in a knight costume but with just enough difference in the details for plausible deniability (a scar, thicker brows, squarer jaw, maybe different color eyes and elf ears) so none of the guys questions it- not that they can talk, Jeff named his first character Jaf when they played together in middle school, and it was literally just Jeff with a war hammer. Real original, Jeff.
#ask#Gareth is valid in all universes whether his name comes from British metal bands or tales of King Arthur

Review: Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils Starter Kit
If you were lucky enough to have art class in elementary school, you probably hated using the cheap Crayola watercolors. They made a huge mess, the paints themselves tended to end up pretty brown and muddy after a couple months, and you never really got explicitly taught any techniques other than wax-resist with crayons. All I ever managed to make in class were a bunch of blobs of color in the vague shape I wanted, and the colors all ran together because you had to do the whole painting in one class period. I...was not impressed by watercolors at all.
I bought myself some watercolor pencils (which I still use on occasion) because I’d heard that they don’t break as often as ordinary colored pencils, and I flat-out hated the RoseArts we had in the house that seemed to break if you so much as looked at them funny, then broke again while you were sharpening them.
That’s right. I bought watercolor pencils to use as ordinary colored pencils. The horror.
So. 16 years after I bought that first set, I noticed something on sale at the craft store. (JAF just finished having their annual mega-sale, which is always a good excuse to buy things you’ve wanted for several months but were just a teensy bit out of your usual price range.)
Guys, gals, and NB pals, let me introduce you to the Faber-Castell watercolor pencils starter kit. Original price: US$20 (I got it for $15).
So what do you get for $20? A pretty decent starter kit, as it turns out. Everything is attached to a piece of cardboard that slides out smoothly. The pencils are on the front, in a resealable plastic packet, no less:
And on the back are two plastic pouches, one of which contains a cheap pencil sharpener and an equally-cheap brush so you can get started right away. (After all, if you turn out to hate working with watercolor pencils and chuck the whole set, would you rather throw out a good artist’s brush, or a 50¢ cheapo brush?)
The other pouch is where you’re really getting your money’s worth, though.
The kit includes about 20 little sheets of watercolor paper (which ain’t cheap), 3 of which have nice little grids.
And of course, there’s the little booklet.
As you can see from the table of contents, the booklet is in English, French, and Spanish, and has instructions on how to do some basic techniques for people like me who are fairly clueless about watercolor in general. (A freebie: Do not dip watercolor pencils into your paint water. Ever. Don’t do it.)
There’s even a section with tips for making clouds, grass, stone, and flowers for landscapes, which is quite helpful for giving you ideas about texture for other parts of your drawings, too (which I had no idea you could do with just watercolor).
And yes, they go step-by-step through that lovely photorealistic drawing of cupcakes on the cover, although you’re probably not gonna get photorealism unless you’re VERY good at drawing already, because you have to do a detailed pencil drawing first. Still nice as a proof-of-concept.
Overall, I give it a 9/10. You get a decent amount of stuff for the price, and while the brush is an icky cheap one, it’s enough to help you decide if you want to keep going and get a nicer artist’s brush that lasts longer. The booklet explains enough techniques to give you a nice little set of skills at the end of it, and encourages you to make your own color references with the grid sheets. All in all, I’m glad I bought it.

My own exploration into working this way:
My own works when it comes to tattooing are minimal and as its quite expensive to get all the correct decent equipment needed, I haven’t got to that point yet with working a solely part time job whilst I’m at uni. I did manage to borrow a friend’s tattoo machine and I have given my self a few. This picture shows the ones on the middle of my arm namely the double ended candle and the faded ones above it, you can tell I’ve done them as an amateur because they have not healed well in the slightest. I’ve come to realise tattooing your self is a very long tedious painful process and I would prefer to tattoo other people given the chance. I’m going to be investing in some fake skin and will be practicing on that once I get my equipment sorted. As for my artwork I’ve done a few pieces I think people would like to get tattooed and I’ve gone them over with Jaf and he says if I can draw like that then tattooing shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve put my art on Instagram and a lot of people seem to like it and have actually messaged me for designs, so I know I’m going in the right direction.

After letting Mozenrath figure out that he was in neither his own reality or near his time period, Kathey had Whyoya lock onto the gene signature to recall him to a different area of the complex meant for radiation exposure treatment and keeping it contained and to decontaminate him, his clothing and the transported air around him. Kathey just watched and frowned, but soon smirked at the men in hazmat suits ordering him to strip down to put the clothes through the speed wash to clean them better. She did turn to give as much privacy as he was allowed at this point. It wasn’t uncommon for there to still be radiation exposure from working on various planets that had higher levels. There were protocols to keep him from just teleporting out of the area.
Mungull helped Vigos with keeping an eye on Jafar with having him help with getting the ships that landed ready for more guests to stay in. Mungull did have other helping hands which took the load off of Mungull some. Of course there were onlookers, plus the guards, and Mungull could guess was their leader come up to him while Jaf was inside one of the ships, to ask in this tired expression as if being on a wild goose chase, holding an older sketch by the sultan. Mungull took a look and shrugged not recognizing the drawing that could have been done by a child.
