“Fine, fuck. Jackie, I think I’m in love with you.” Shauna doesn’t meet her eyes as she’s saying it, instead wavering between the ground and down the street past Jackie.

“You’re… what?” Shauna’s in love with her? Jackie’s pretty sure she misheard her, misunderstood her, because there’s no way Shauna would have feelings for Jackie like that. She could have anyone she wants, why would she want Jackie like that? Shauna’s just drunk and confused, right?

Shauna doesn’t say anything but give a shy nod when Jackie finally looks at her again, causing the bile to rise in Jackie’s throat and her head start spinning. She shoves it down, steadying herself on the pavement.

“You’re drunk.”

“Yeah. Maybe.” Shauna sniffles and wipes at her nose with her sleeve. “Can we please go home and just forget about this?” -- or, snapshots of Jackie and Shauna's senior year together after a late summer love confession

My Yellowjackets Star Wars AU for JackieShauna Weekend (Princess & Butcher prompt) is finally here! This is going to be a long multi chapter work, so today’s segment is only the very beginning. We won't even fully dive into the Star Wars universe until the Prologue is complete. Please bear in mind, this is my first time writing a fanfic, so there will be a bit of a learning curve! 

I made an actual web based eBook of The Force Within.  I have provided two different links: one to the actual book and one to the webpage with resources that I created for the book. 

Today’s segment is only the first half of the prologue. It takes place after Jackie’s death and primarily consists of a  conversation  b/w Shauna & GhostJackie in the meat shed in December of 1996. The story will actually become the Star Wars au I promised. Trust me. But it is a very slow burn because I wanted to firmly ground the narrative in the context of the Yellowjackets universe and have the premise appear somewhat logical... for a television show about teen cambial soccer stars surviving a plane crash!

Despite my initial desire for brevity, the prologue has expanded into four rather complex (but still somewhat campy) chapters! They are full of era specific cultural references as well as tongue in cheek allusions to a few of the running gags in our fandom (Jandy4eva/ Shandy4neva, and Jackie limp-wristing her way around). I tried to keep a balance between heavy emotion and lighter material.

 Chapters 3 & 4 are still in the outlining/ drafting stages, so I was only able to post the first 2 chapters for the weekend. But it is a complete arc! The butcher is clearly there, but you do have to squint a little for our princess. I *promise* she will be right there in the next chapter.

For the full work, I do have a complete outline & a plan! I am trying to maintain the trilogy structure of Star Wars (3 main parts each composed of 3 chapters) and there will be an epilogue to bookend the prologue. So if you guys end up liking the story, there is potentially a lot more to come!
