A/n= another story I started writing with the intention of keeping it nice and short ending up being the longest one yet, wth đŸ˜© but hey, I hope you'll give it a read nonetheless because I'm quite happy of how this one came out (I'll probably hate it tomorrow but for now I'm a proud mom). Anyway, if you've watched Werewolf by Night, you're the best and I love you, if you haven't go watch it and then come back here to read this filth, you won't regret it đŸ„ș ps: I know the title is shit but I had no idea how to name this story so bear with me. Love yaaaa xx
~ ~ ~ ~
When you begrudgingly agreed to participate in last night competition - literally forced by your parents to honor the family name by winning the bloodstone - you had no idea you would end up teaming up with the monster's friend to save said monster, the one you were supposed to hunt and then get rescued by the latter when his friend turned into a beast and went into a forced rampage and murdered almost everyone. What a freaking night! You still can barely believe all that has happened for real but also that you were able to get out of it alive.
On top of that, to add to the craziness and weirdness of the whole situation, there's the fact that you are now in the middle of a forest, sharing a tiny tent with Jack, the kind man who turned out to be a werewolf and... he's naked. Well, he's covering himself up with a cloak Ted, his friend, retrieved for him from the Bloodstone's mansion but under that? He's 100% naked and you can't pull that thought out of your head. You also cannot stop thinking about his werewolf form, how your body reacted to it when you saw him kill people left and right -who definitely deserved it, by the way- but also when he slightly twitched when you carefully grazed his cheek as he was on top of you pinning you to the floor. You literally can't think of anything else, especially not when you can still feel the consequences of it, being that uneasy dampness between your legs, which you can do absolutely nothing about, at least for the moment being.
Sharing a tent with a stranger - well, you could consider him an acquaintance by now, but still a stranger in most aspects - who has such a strangely strong pull on you, it's such an awkward situation and you're trying really hard to play it cool and not make it as plain as day to him how much he affects you and how the memories of his werewolf body pressing on yours make you feel all tingly inside.
Sure, you could just leave the strange duo and be on your way but you have no idea where you are or where to go; after last night you're more convinced than ever to never return to your parents house, you were never cut for the family business anyway. More so, you don't have the heart to just leave. It's been only a bunch of hours but you already feel attached to the two, especially to Jack and you want to make sure they're ok before you eventually part ways. You also fear you won't ever see him again after today so you're even more willing to fight off the uncomfortable inconvenience that is your arousal to spend a few more minutes in his company.
"Are you sure you don't want it?"
Jack's sweet voice interrupts your trail of thoughts and you turn your head his way. He's holding his cup of tea, hand extended in your direction.
"We weren't prepared to have a guest with us", he gives you an apologetic smile, "I guess we should get a third cup so we won't face the same problem next time... but now we could share mine, if you don't mind?"
You can't help but smile. He's such a kind guy. He's been showing you kindness since you met and peppering you with questions since he's woken up, asking if you're alright, if he hurt you in some way, if you're comfortable, if you're hungry, if you're cold... It made your heart flutter, honestly.
"I'm alright Jack, really. Go ahead, you need that drink more than I."
He looks like he wants to retort but then nods thankfully at you before he grabs the cup with both his shaking hands and brings it to his lips, taking a sip of the hot tea.
"You're still shivering...", you point out with a frown. "Alright. I'm giving you my jacket."
As you swiftly peel the jacket off of you, Jack voices his complaint, hands rushing up to shake frantically in front of him only to quickly move back on the cloak to prevent it from falling down.
"Oh no, please-"
"I don't wanna hear it. Just take it, Jack. You'll warm up faster."
The serious look you're giving him must be effective because he finally sighs and takes the jacket from you with a feeble 'thank you'.
"I think it's best if you wear it under the cloak..."
You notice his eyes widen for a moment before he looks away.
"I- yes, y-you're right. I will... erm- if you don't mind...?"
"Oh, sure. Go on."
You turn away, not without a certain struggle. You wouldn't mind taking a peek, damn you wouldn't mind doing more than that but hey, it's not the time for being a creep. Looking at him wouldn't even help your situation, it would actually make it worse. So you make sure your gaze wanders to the other side of the tent, where the zip is unfastened. You take a look outside. An empty cup lies on the trunk where Ted was sitting only until a few minutes ago, his cards discarded messily on the ground. From Jack's words when he talked to Ted before he left you understood that he was going on a sort of scouting mission inside the forest, probably to get a clearer idea of the area and how to get out of it in the safest way possible. When Ted returns, you're most likely going to part ways; the thought makes you quite sad.
Jack clears his throat and you turn his way.
"It's incredibly warm... thank you."
Your eyes land on him once again. You can see a small bulge on both his shoulders under the black fabric of his cloak but other than that, he looks exactly the same as before. Perhaps only slightly redder in the face.
"Don't mention it."
"Are you going to be OK without it?"
The fairly teared up shirt you're wearing is not exactly the best shield from the chill morning air but you'll survive. The cold is not your main issue, your mind is and right now it's attacking you with a very vivid image of your jacket's fabric clinging onto Jack's naked body. You wonder if it will take up his scent. Oh, you wish it will.
"Are you sure?"
His voice calls you back from your thoughts once again. You see his eyes trail down your torso, his adam's apple bobbing in his throat before he fixes his gaze back on your face. You unconsciously cross your arms on your chest and freeze imperceptibly when you feel the small bulge of your turgid nipple against your arm. Damn. Has he noticed? You hope he hasn't but his flushed face tells you otherwise... or maybe it's because he's feeling warmer already? Nonetheless, you feel a growing heat in your lower belly and the uneasy feeling between your legs getting even more uncomfortable.
"I'm fine, Jack. Don't worry about me." Again, you try to play it cool by smiling at him nonchalantly.
"I don't want you to catch a cold because of me..."
You roll your eyes and playfully shake your head at his words.
"Jack! Stop it! I'm not afraid of a cold. Anyway, the air is not that chilly anymore. The sun rays are getting warmer."
He casts a brief glance outside, lips curling up in a soft pout.
"Yeah... but we could keep each other warmer if you come closer."
The genuine and innocent look he gives you makes his words more allusive than he probably meant them to be. Hell, he's so adorable and he literally has no idea what he's doing to you.
You're silent for a moment, torn on what to do. You would love to get closer to him, feel his warmth against you, maybe even lean on him. At the same time though, that uneasy wet feeling in your core makes any slight movement a real torture. If you try to move your legs the least possible maybe you can make it, though.
"Alright." You eventually sigh and scoot over toward him, until your shoulders touch. You can instantly feel the warmth radiating from his body and unironically a shiver runs up your back as a result.
"See? You're shivering too." He promptly points out and hops even closer, fully pressing his arm against yours.
The sweet smile he gives you makes your heart flutter in your chest, tighs pressing together even tighter.
"Thank you."
He raises his cup and takes another sip before extending it to you once again. This time you gladly accept it with a quick nod and take a long sip of the hot, surprisingly tasty beverage.
"Better?"
"Better."
His kind gaze lingers on your face, a soft smile hovering on his lips. His facial features are so eye-catching up close. The make-up he's wearing makes his unique beauty stand out even more. You can't help but stare in awe at him.
"What is it?"
"Uhm?"
A light chuckle escapes his lips and you feel your stomach swell at the sweet sound.
"Have I got something on my face?"
"Oh, no...", you smile softly, keeping your gaze on his face, "I was only admiring your... make-up."
"Oh? Do you like it?"
"Very much."
Feeling particularly bold, you lean forward, moving your hand on his cheek to gently trace the white dash lining his jaw with your fingertips.
"Does it mean anything?"
"Uhm-", he clears his throat, slightly alarmed eyes fixed on your dangerously close face, "n-not exactly. It's a simple design my ancestors would usually wear in battle and I wanted to honor them."
"Well, I don't know about your ancestors but it looks very good on you."
His lips curl up in a cheeky smile which you immediately mirror.
"Thank you, Y/N. You look very good too... I mean-", his eyes widen, heat flushing in his cheeks, "your make-up looks very good, too."
You smirk at him, fingertips tapping lightly on the dash on his chin before you pull back.
"It's nothing like yours but thank you Jackie."
The way he shyly smiles as he looks away makes you want to grab his face and pull him in for a kiss but you try your best to keep your hormones at bay. You don't want to make things even more awkward than they already are. What if he's not attracted to you as you are to him? That would be awful.
You shift uneasily on your bottom, subtly stretching your tensed legs. You can clearly feel your juices slipping out to damp the fabric of your underwear and hurriedly press your thighs back together.
Your head abruptly snaps to the side when the sudden sound of Jack sniffing the air startles you.
He awkwardly glances your way for a brief moment before he averts his gaze, a strange expression on his face that you can't quite decipher.
"What is it?"
"N-nothing."
"Jack... What is it you smell? Has someone followed us here?"
"No, no...", he trails off, glancing at you before looking away once again, "I-It's your scent."
"My scent?"
"Yes. It's very... strong."
"Oh?"
He looks uncomfortable which makes you feel uncomfortable as well. Can he smell any kind of scent even when he is not actually in his werewolf form? You actually have no idea how that works but it makes you incredibly conscious of yourself.
"Well, I mean... I sure need a shower. I'm sorry if it's bothering you. I'll just move back down there-"
You're about to slide back to your previous seat to put some distance between you two but he immediately stops you, gently but firmly grabbing your arm.
"No! Don't! I-It's actually a quite pleasing scent." His adam's apple bobs again as his eyes widen a little. "It's... very sweet."
"Is it?"
Your eyebrow quizzically quirks up as you eye him, confusion written all over your face.
He takes another sniff, more subtly this time but you notice anyway. It's strange to have him sniff the air for your scent but also weirdly attractive, somehow.
He glances at you with that same awkward expression, teeth coming down to graze his bottom lip.
"Too sweet."
He whispers those words as if talking to himself but you're able to hear them and a chill runs up your back.
"Are you...", he stops to swallow, "...by any chance..." He trails off, gaze wandering down your body before shyly setting on your face once again.
Your confusion only grows hearing his nonsensical question.
"W-What do you mean?"
His doe eyes roam over your face. You can feel how tense his body is now, it's like he's trying to hold himself back.
"Mierda..." he hisses in a whisper, shaking his head and averting his gaze.
"Jack, what-"
You gently place your hand on his arm but as soon as you touch him he jerks away and stands up abruptly, inadvertently knocking his still half-full cup of tea down on the ground, making the liquid spill all over the grass and on your feet.
"!MaldiciĂłnÂĄ, he mutters through his teeth as he instantly crouches down to retrieve the cup, "I'm so sorry Y/n, so sorry-"
"It's fine Jack, really-"
He grabs a corner of his oversized cloak and tugs it down to wipe the wet fabric of your boots, an incomprehensible muttering of spanish words leaving his mouth. You lean forward and take his hands in yours to stop his frantic scrubbing.
"Jack, relax."
He looks up at you with that doe-eyed expression of his. He looks like a deer in the headlights and you wonder what has gotten him so scared and tense all of a sudden.
"I apologize for ruining your boots, I'm-"
"Forget about them, I don't care if they're ruined or not", you interrupt him, squeezing his hands to make sure he listens to your words, "are you OK?"
He swallows dry, wide eyes roaming over your face. His mouth opens and closes as if he's unsure of how to answer.
"Jack?"
You're more and more confused by his behavior. What has gotten into him all of a sudden? It all happened so fast, you have no idea what to think of it. You're really trying but failing miserably to understand what is going on.
The soft trembling of his hands makes you lower your gaze. Your attention however is quickly caught by his cloak which falls slightly open at the level of hips, enough to show his quite evident erection. Your breath catches in your throat at the sight, a jolt shakes your stomach.
He follows your gaze and immediately tears himself away from you, standing up and rushing out of the tent while his shaking hands tug at the two ends of his cloak and cross them one on top of the other to fully cover himself.
You're too stunned to speak. Your heart is thumping hard in your chest, the wetness pooling relentlessly between your legs.
You understand now why he was so tense. He was trying to hide his erection. But how did it happen? When? Probably when he was sniffling your scent. That definitely explains his peculiar reaction to it.
You look up. He's standing in front of the now dead fire, his back facing you.
"Jack?" You try to call him but he doesn't turn. "Jack, please..."
He hangs his head. You can hear his deep shaky sigh from where you're still sitting in the tent.
"I'm desolate Y/n, that was...", he groans, shaking his head, "You shouldn't have seen. I'm so sorry."
You can't bear to see and hear him so disconsolate. He's being so hard on himself but he hasn't even done anything wrong. He's embarrassed, you understand the feeling. You've been feeling like that the whole night until only a few minutes ago but now that you know that he's just as aroused as you, well, you can act on it, can't you?
You set your eyes on the back of his head as you move your hand on the inseam of your leather pants and drag down the zip. You do it as quick as you can to make its sound louder. You then peel off on leg after the other and toss your trousers to the side of the tent, making it shake.
You see Jack flinch. If he had wolf ears, they would definitely perk up now. He hasn't turned yet, though so you continue at your attempt of luring him in by spreading your legs wide. A soft moan escapes your lips when your fingers slide through your folds from over the drenching fabric of your panties.
The sound you make instantly propels Jack to turn around. His eyes open wide at the sight in front of him. You smile up at him while you brush your fingers up and down your folds a couple of times before you abruptly press your thighs back together.
He stumbles forward, a confused look on his face.
"Now you've seen me too", you say calmly, crossing your legs and leaning back on your hands, "I am aroused just like you but you knew it already, didn't you?"
You can clearly see his adam's apple bobbing up and down, eyes wandering all over your body, lingering especially on the area you're now so cruelly hiding from him.
"So, are you... coming or not?" You smirk at him, one eyebrow quirking up, "Ted might come out of those trees at any minute now."
He seems to finally snap out of his trance and rushes the remaining steps that separates him from the tent. He crouches down as he enters, then falls on his knees in front of you.
"Y/n..." he whispers, his voice shaky, "...are you sure?"
You lean forward, hand moving on his face to cup his cheek. His eyes flutter shut as he sinks into your palm, taking a long shuddering breath.
"Aren't you?"
He doesn't even need to think about it, he eagerly nods his head in response, pleading eyes setting back on your face.
A wide smile spreads on your lips that you barely contain by biting your bottom lip. You draw him toward you, slowly as to fully savor the feeling of anticipation. He is however quite impatient and rashly leans forward, lips only barely grazing yours as you quickly pull back with a smirk, causing him to huff in protest. The hurt look he gives you goes straight to your core and you wish you had the time to tease him a little bit longer but time, alas, is against you so you move your hands to the back of his neck and pull him toward you, laying your mouth on his. He immediately responds by deepening the kiss, calloused hands finding your sides and squeezing them.
You thread your fingers in the hair at the nape of his neck, keening in his mouth when he moves his palms between your thighs to push them apart and pull you closer against him. With a suddenness that surprises you, he gropes your clothed cunt, hand stroking up and down, feeling your arousal. Your hips buckle upward on their own seeking for more friction which Jack generously gives you by pulling the drenched fabric of your underwear to the side and slipping his fingers inside your folds.
Your head spins at the long-awaited touch you finally receive, kiss turning into an open mouthed caress as you pull back a little, a satisfied moan leaves your lips and gets muffled by his.
When a moment later you recover some lucidity, you mirror his actions, hand sliding down his back and delving under his cloak. He breathes a harsh breath of air as you wrap it firmly around him, the shudder you cause in him and the drunken look he gives you, makes your stomach flutter.
He’s rock hard in your hands, head wet with precum. You teasingly slide your thumb on the top of it, smearing the thick fluid to ease your movements along his length. You feel his hot breath against your lips as a guttural moan escapes him, his eyes fluttering close, brows furrowing. A proud and delighted expression spreads on your face which quickly turns into a frown when Jack reciprocate your attention by swirling his thumb on your clitoris, not before he dipped it into the wetness at your core. It’s your turn to moan and shudder and it’s his turn to stare raptured at your face as you contort in pleasure.
“Jack”, you choke out, your voice a little more than a whimper upon his mouth, “it feels so good
”
He bites his lip as he nods softly, eyes lowering on your moist lips.
“I know, cariño” he whispers, laying his lips on yours in a messy open-mouthed kiss before he trails them down your chin and along your jaw, eventually diving into your neck where he lingers to relish in your heady scent. His fingers in the meantime increase their speed around your most sensitive button, making your head spin. Your movements get faster too, hand sloppily stroking up and down, occasionally squeezing his swollen balls then sliding up to swirl around its head, action which you noticed, causes Jack hips to shake more prominently.
His groans are music to your ears and add to the coiling pleasure growing in intensity in your lower belly. You feel the knot is about to snap and Jack must feel it too because he abandons your turgid nub to slide his fingers along your slit and slip them into your heat. A broken cry leaves your throat and blends with his groans.
“Come for me, mi corazón
” he whispers in a breathed caress against your ear, the hoarseness of his voice goes straight to your core, just like the feeling of his teeth grazing your skin and sinking down in the crook of your neck makes you shiver. His fingers thrust relentlessly back and forth, hitting the spongy area deep inside you, while your hand works up and down at a sustained pace. You feel him getting more and more tense against you, his labored breathing warming the side of your neck.
“please, Jack...”, you plead in between pants, "...please, let me look at you!"
You bite your lip while he repeatedly pecks your skin in his climb up along your neck, until his lips linger inches away from yours, gazes finally locking.
Your stomach swells when you see the pure image of lust displayed on his face with his flushed cheeks and furrowed brows. The piercing look he gives you with his heavy lidded eyes, together with the umpteenth twist of his fingers deep inside you mark the reaching of your limit, as you’re dragged over the edge, a wave of pleasure washing over you and a loud throaty sound escaping your lips.
His fingers keep caressing you with the most gentle of touches while he places his other hand on top of yours to help you sustain the steady but now slackening movement of your strokes along his length. As you catch your breathing, you fix your still half-closed eyes on his face, wanting more than anything else to witness the way his beautiful features will contort in pleasure when he reaches his own climax. And you do, only a few strokes later; his eyes squeeze shut, lips part to let out a long shaky whimper, hips buckle forward as his hot semen spills over the inside of his cloak.
His palm loosens its pressure on your hand and you continue to caress his cock, squeezing softly its head as you ease him down from the orgasm, until he becomes too sensitive.
Jack's head slumps down, forehead coming to rest against yours, his hot breath a caress on your cheekbone. His hand moves on the side of your head while the other slides down to hold your waist.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath, relishing in the warmth of his closeness and the still lingering tingling feeling spread all over your body.
A moment later his lips press gently on your cheekbone, nose trailing over your skin as he takes in your scent. The light touch of the tip of his nose against your neck tickles you and makes you jump a little, a chuckle falling from your lips.
"Jack stop!", you try to untangle yourself from him but he holds you still while he continues his sniffling descent, passing over the swell of your breasts, your dishelved shirt, coming to a halt on your pelvis. He presses his nose on the fabric of your underwear, right above your center and takes a deep breath in and hums in satisfaction.
You've pulled yourself up in the meantime, your eyes following his every move. The way he looks so pleased, apparently enjoying the way you smell makes your stomach swell. You've never had any guy smell you like that and normally you would consider it a very weird thing to do but he's making it look so sexy.
"Jack?"
He looks up, big puppy eyes locking with yours. A shy smile forms on his lips.
"I'm sorry Y/n, I can't seem to resist", he leans forward to breath in your scent once more, eyes fluttering shut for a moment, "the way you smell is intoxicating."
"Fuck" you huff, teeth sinking in your bottom lip, "that's so hot, Jack... but damn, you're getting me even wetter and my underwear is so soggy already." You groan at the uneasy feeling of the cold damp fabric of your panties tugging to your dripping folds.
He hums softly, fingertips brushing the laced fabric of your underwear, until they find the hem and hook in it as he looks up at you, an earnest look on his face.
"I can help you with that."
You don't answer but your eager expression is enough for him to pursue his intentions. He carefully peels off your panties, sliding them inside the pocket of your jacket. He then bends down and dips his nose in your folds before he takes a solid stripe down your slit making you shudder involuntarily.
"Oh, bloody hell!" you blurt out in a loud moan as you fall backward on your elbows.
Jack swirls his tongue around your clitoris, collecting the liquid gathered there before he dwells hungrily at your core, sucking up all your juices. He's slow with his licks but thorough, jealously cleaning your cunt from every drop of the fruits of his hard work.
Your head is spinning, the knot in your lower belly tightening again and you think you might soon come a second time if he keeps moving his tongue like that but a rustling sound of foliage shaking reaches your ears and makes you jump, head snapping in direction of the source of the noise. Hard steps growing closer can be heard only a moment later and your alarmed look meets Jack's surprised face.
"It's Ted!" you mutter through your teeth. Jack only nods in response and wipes his mouth on the arm of his cloak as he quickly hops up on his feet, not before casting a brief forlorn look at your cunt, then he hurriedly rearranges his dishelved cloak and places himself at the entrance of the tent, giving you cover, privacy and time enough to recompose yourself.
You're still fumbling with the legs of your trousers when you hear Jack's voice, welcoming back his friend and Ted replying in incomprehensible grunts.
In your agitation and hurried state, you're not actually able to follow their conversation, only hearing fragments of sentences here and there and a lot of different pitched grunts from Ted's part. You think you hear Jack mentioning your name at some point but you forget it as you zip up your pants and quickly brush your hands on your hair to make yourself presentable.
When you're done and ready you sit back on the ground and wait for their discussion to end. Luckily you don't have to wait a long time, in fact, only a couple of minutes later you see Jack tilting his head to the side to throw a furtive glance inside the tent. Your eyes lock and you smile cheekily at him. It takes all the will in him to not mirror your smile as he turns back to face Ted and say, "let's see if she's woken up now, so I can ask her."
You stifle a laugh at his words; what a good liar he is! He could almost convince even yourself of having slept through the whole thing, your sexy time with Jack being only a dream your mind fabricated in the excitement of last night's events, if only you didn't still clearly feel on yourself the very unforgettable touch of both his fingers and tongue. Your mind could never make up such bliss.
Jack pops inside the tent and crouches down at your level. A grin soon forms on his face and you let out a chuckle you were so hardly repressing.
"I am fully awake now, Jackie", you tease him, crossing your arms on your chest, "let's hear what you have to ask me."
His grin falters slightly but he keeps smiling at you while his cheeks flush red.
"Uhm, well-", he averts his eyes for a moment, fingers moving to the side of his head to scratch nervously behind his ear, "we've talked, Ted and I, and-" He trails off, looking like he's trying really hard to choose the right words to best phrase what he means to tell you. "We don't know what you plan to do now. You've mentioned how problematic your relationship with your family is and after how the competition went, perhaps you don't intent to return home. Or perhaps you do, I'd totally understand if-"
"No, I'm definitely not going back."
He's taken aback by your confident answer at first but then quickly nods in understanding. "Of course. Do you know already where else to go?"
You haven't thought about it yet. Beside your family you must admit, you don't have anyone else. Those who you erroneously call friends are in fact family friends, not yours, you couldn't ask them to help you even if you wanted to. Elsa is probably the only person whom you've ever had a genuine relationship with, but you've grown distant during the last years, you've only met last night after a very long time and you don't feel like asking her to host you, even if she actually might agree to it. Then again, you're not really euphoric at the idea of living in that horrendous mansion, especially after last night events.
"Not exactly", you admit with a sheepish smile, "I'll have to come up with something."
He nods slowly, looking pensive. Taking advantage of his temporary hesitation with words, you lean forward and take his hands in yours, lips curling up in a small smile.
"You don't have to worry about me, Jack. If you and Ted have to go, don't let me keep you."
You know already where this conversation is going. There's a very hurtful goodbye coming and even though you knew this moment would come eventually, it's nevertheless hard to face it.
"Of course I worry about you...", he whispers vehemently, squeezing your hands, "...and that is exactly what I am trying to say." He sighs, lowering his gaze on your interlined hands before setting it back on your face with more confidence.
"You don't have to leave, if you don't want to. You know... Ted and I share a small cabin in the woods, which is not that far from here. It's not much but it's homey and comfy, and very clean. We both like to keep things tidy. And there's actually enough space for a third roommate if you-"
He cuts himself short as soon as he notices the stunned look on your face.
"A-are you offering me to move in with you?"
"Well, I-" he stutters a little, panic growing on his face, "I know it sounds absurd since we barely know each other but-" He takes a deep breath in an attempt to ease his agitation. "Yes. Yes, I am. You've helped us last night, now let us help you, Y/n. We're simply offering you a roof over your head. You can leave as soon as you find a better accommodation, if that's what you'll want."
The earnest and genuine look he's giving you makes your heart melt. You can't believe how kind he is, how caring! You're sincerely touched.
You can't resist the urge to surge forward and throw your arms around his neck. He puffs out a breath of air at the impact but immediately wraps his arms around you, pulling you close.
"That's so sweet of you, Jack! Thank you so much."
"Is that a yes?"
You pull back a little, eyes locking in his.
"You had me at 'we both like to keep things tidy'. It's a huge yes!"
He laughs heartily and you secure that sweet sound to memory, taking a note to yourself to make him laugh again as soon as possible.
"Then...", he hops up and extends a hand your way, "...shall we?"
You can't suppress the big smile that spreads on your face and eagerly take his hand, letting him help you up.
You follow him out of the tent. Ted is waiting by the firewood, his cup and cards nowhere in sight. He slowly turns around when he hears your steps approaching and his red stare immediately falls on your interlined hands. His eyes then dart from his friend's face, to yours and back to Jack's. He grunts once at Jack then a low, chuckle-like sound comes out of him.
"Oh, shut up." Jack rolls his eye at him but fails miserably to suppress a chuckle of his own.
You turn to him and he does the same. You feel him squeeze gently your hand, his eyes roaming adoringly over your face as he grins at you.
~ ~ ~ ~
Your heart thumpers loudly in your chest. You can't express how happy you are so you simply mirror his grin and squeeze his hand back.

The Bloodstone manor was a frankensteined mass of ancient wood, marble, concrete and metal. The old home was gutted and wired into the 21st century. There was a sprawling once overgrown garden reworked into a modernist labyrinth. With all the new amendments it was a marvel it'd retained even half of it's beauty. Though perhaps dangling from chains at the center of the maze did rob some of its charms for you.
Your arms ached after the hours hanging in that position as you tried another feeble attempt as tugging your hands free. Your toes could just barely scrape against the stone bellow and kept you from getting better leverage. Still you tried to pull yourself up the chain again even if you quickly slipped and snapped back down hard.
You yelped before you dropped your chin to your chest with a deep frustrated sigh. You'd been un-gagged once they'd hung you here, you could shout out? Though who amongst the guests would do anything but laugh at your predicament. Hell best they'd offer would be a swift end.
Your lament was interrupted by the sounds of someones approach. He moved slow and carefully into the circular garden you hung in. All hunters seemed to have striking appearances but you couldn't help appreciate his. Beautiful suit, salt and pepper hair swept neatly to the side and intricate paint framing a handsome face.
It was daft to be admiring your soon to be executioner but simple pleasures were all that remained now. So you would enjoy the curve of his lips, the slope of his nose and those dark eyes at now fixated on you.
You stared back at his now frozen form. It was a little amusing seeing him frozen mid stride like a cartoon character. Though levity turned sour quickly as you kept focus on him. The man seemed to grimace at you, a lip curling slightly before his face smoothed out again. You frowned, confused at him before he began walking towards you.
A shiver of panic ran through you. The chill of the night suddenly present and sending goosebumps across your skin. The fizzing ran to your fingers as you tugged more frantically on your restraints.
"Woah woah hey! hey!" Jack whispered as he came closer to the now frantic vampire. Verussa Bloodstone had made the horrible announcement that she'd had one caught as an extra surprise for everyone. Jack Russell had met a few in his years. Some blood crazed and beyond help but a few definitely worth protecting.
"I am unarmed, please be still!" He whispered over the rattling of the chains. He cringed, first at the sound then at the reddening skin around their hold. The vampires body was filthy, clothing tattered and hair greasy. How long had they been captured for? There was no blood on them, had they not fought back?
The vampire's body stopped thrashing a moment and they snapped a wide expression to him. He felt a lump in his throat. Even hanging there they were a vision, with beautiful sad eyes staring back at him. The momentum from their struggled kept their body turning. They kept shifting their head to try keep him in sight. Jack moved into view, circling to keep himself visible to them as he looked up at the chain's mechanism.
You watched the man with uncertain eyes. His quizzical expression as he took in the chain, the stone above it was affixed to, it's anchoring. Your heart rate settled as you observed him, his calaveras paint made the little changes to his expression more visible in the low light. He didn't look like was going to strike a blow any time soon.
"My names Jack...Um...can I just..." He stammered as he stepped closer. You remained frozen, raising an eyebrow to him. "I'm going to see if I can get you down..." He continued, mumbling his words.
Jack stepped in closer again, meeting your eyes again with his hands raised. Waiting for permission to touch you?
"Please." You said, not liking how horse it came out in front of this hunter. Then his face split into a crooked smile that sent butterflies straight to your stomach.
Meanwhile Jack tried to stop the shake from his hands as he wrapped his arms around their legs and lifted. He was momentarily surprised by the cool sensation before he realized he'd made contact with your bare legs.
"Mierda, sorry..." Jack said as he tried to adjust his hold. His lift took the weight from your arms and you couldn't help a groan that escaped your lips. The ache in your arms relieved a moment you relaxed in his hold despite your sudden nerves.
"Y/n." You said, still keeping your eyes on him.
His hands felt hot against your skin and sent a buzz through you. This close you could catch the scent of him easier. It was intoxicating, one part deep forest in the rain with a touch of musk and something warm. It awakened an entirely different hunger.
Jack tried desperately to avoid your gaze locked on him, instead focusing on the chain. He felt bad enough for gripping your thigh even if your sigh proved he'd helped ease the pain. Still it was no time to be ogling you especially in such a compromised position.
"With the slack, do you think you could free your hands?" Jack asked. You shifted in his grip, leaning into him as you tried to tug the knotted chain. You could feel the heat radiating from him but tried to remain focused on the task at hand.
Your scent all but consumed Jack now. His face so close to the base of your throat and chest. It took enormous will power for him not to nestle in closer and take it in. He felt embarrassed enough with how fast his heart was pounding, he didn't want to add to that.
"Someone's coming." You whispered. You paused your attempt to quiet the rattling and listened out. Past Jack's heartbeat you heard another, slower and approaching.
Jack cursed, lowering your legs slowly and gently before shifting away. A panic bubbled in you again. He was going to leave you here? Of course he was, he was a hunter wasn't he? Then he turned back, soft hazel eyes locking onto yours.
"I'm here for my friend, Ted, I'll draw them off, find him then we'll come back for you okay?" He promised with a sincerity in his smile that had you convinced in a second. You nodded, smiling tightly back at him.
Jack ran off into the maze, shoes slapping loudly against stone. The approaching hunter veered off course and you listened to them fade away. Then you were alone again, pain singing loudly up your arms.
You started swinging your legs. At first in some attempt for escape but it gradually grew into a way to waste a little time. Ticking like a pendulum in the growing chill of the night. You hoped Jack would be back before your arms died entirely.
You were brought out of your daze by a fresh scent lilting through the breeze. The familiar notes of nature but different, fresher somehow? You stilled your waving legs, letting your rocking slow until you were hanging rigid.
The smell lingered, strong and close but you couldn't hear the pattering of Jack. Though as you strained you did hear another heart approach. Then another behind you beating strong and steady. You were going to try turn when another hunter entered the circle.
He wasn't Jack. He was taller, broader and his smirk was cruel. He stalked forward like a predator, eyes raking up and down his prey. You squirmed under his gaze and let out a low hiss.
"Well, pretty sure you were meant to be a prize for the winner~" He purred as he approached. He put a hand on your hip before harshly pushing you. The chain spun you in circles as he laughed.
"Oh this is just too good!" He jeered. You thrashed violently, trying harder to pull free.
In glimpses you saw his laughing face, then something looming behind him, then a mass of roots and nature and blazing red eyes. Then he was screaming in a burst of bright flame, flesh searing and turning to ash in the claws of the hunts real target. A creature unlike any you'd encountered before but that held that same earthy scent Jack had.
"...Ted?" You breathed out. You had to suppress a squeak when the creatures massive head snapped up to you. The pieces seemed to fall in place in that second as Ted's face shifted, his eyes softening to you.
"Ted!" You smiled gently as his great clawed hand reached to you, stilling your spinning with the ease of just one finger. "Your friend Jack was here."
Ted's eyes widened and a low grumbling came from deep in his chest. He sounded surprised but appreciative, though whatever words were in the rumble escaped your ears. You didn't even have to ask as his other hand gripped the chain. It melted away and you dropped to your feet, what was left clattering from your wrists to the stone floor.
Your balance was gone and you tipped forward on unsteady legs. Ted's hand was raised still and you caught yourself on his thumb. He looked to you with sympathetic eyes as you tried to stretch out the strain in your shoulders.
"Thank you Ted," You said, patting his hand as you tried your legs again. More stable this time you took a few steps and feeling seemed to return to you. "We should stay low, avoid the hunters until we can find your friend?" You asked.
Ted nodded deeply shifting back the way he'd come, pausing briefly and looking over his shoulder to you. You jogged after him, glad for him accepting to your tagging along.
You shifted quietly through the maze, listening carefully before taking corners. It was harder for Ted, the bloodstone was affixed to his shoulder and seemed to be causing some amount of pain. Every few steps he growled against the sting.
Another hunter passed ahead and Ted grabbed your body in one hand. He dove back into the shrubbery with you now dangling in his hand. It was odd to be held by him, feeling more like hanging from a tree limb than a hand. Vines and moss seemed to grown against his skin, little glimpses of flowering plants amongst blades of grass up against his shoulders. He was a lovely creature and the idea of the others hunting him made you suddenly furious.
Ted made an odd grumble turning slightly. You wanted to ask but where sure now you'd only be met with more grumbling growls. He let out a louder roar pushing a clawed hand through the shrubbery.
You primed yourself to pounce out for a fight but the rumbling in Ted's chest sounded more like a pleasant chuckle.
"Hey! hey! What's up?" Jack cooed. Through the ivy Jack met eyes with his old friend, a delighted smile spreading across his face. He reassured him through the small space before Jack spied Ted's other hand.
"Oh you found them! Good good, this makes things a whole lot easier!" He grinned up at you with a slight wave. You returned it, wobbling unsteadily in Ted's grip, before holding back onto his hand.
"Oh...um Ted? Maybe you could let them down again?" Jack smiled nervously. Ted rumbled a response but gently placed you back on your feet. "Well yes but they are okay now, right?"
Jack's eyes met your confused expression.
"You understand him?" You asked.
"Yes of course." Jack answered matter of factlly before moving on to share his plan. You shrugged to yourself before you heard another approach.
Jack and Ted both reacted too. Ted immediately had you by the shoulders and was pulling you off to hide again, whilst Jack scrambled away. You ran along side Ted keeping pace with his strides. He wailed again as the bloodstone burned against his skin.
Pity for him swelled again. Ted was being so kind to you, he didn't deserve to be trapped in here in so much pain. Jack at least understood that too but why was still a mystery. Hunters of the past may have had a different code but these days it was kill first ask questions never. Why was he different?
You hid again against the smooth stone peaking into the gloom for anyone sneaking up on you both. Ted slumped against the ivy with a groan. Still he kept an eye down the other side with his back to you. You were glad he seemed to trust you, it'd been a while since you'd had a real ally.
Ted's claw hooked your arm, tugging you towards the shrubbery. You turned spying the bearded hunter approaching it. You stiffened ready to pounce if he drew too close but he was distracted. Another hunter yelled to him and he spun.
Ted reached a hand out gripping the hunters head and setting it ablaze. You leapt out to the other hissing and bearing fangs but stilled. Her weapons were lowered and her hands raised so you snapped your mouth shut. Ted roared furiously at her but she remained still, then she addressed him.
"Your friend is waiting for you both." She explained.
Ted grumbled pleasantly his body relaxing as Elsa lead you both back through the labyrinth. You jogged on the rear keeping a head spinning back for the other hunters. You could hear them all around, approaching the thundering footsteps of your new friend as he ran.
An explosion rang out ahead of you, Elsa diving to the side as some rumble from the wall bust out towards her. You slowed to a stop as Ted ran ahead to the gash in the external wall. Elsa flung a grapple out pulling the stone from his back as he ran out.
He bellowed pleasantly and you couldn't help but laugh. Elsa and Jack beamed as you jogged towards the hole. The stone shone on the floor, angry red light that made your eyes water. You practically snarled as you passed it and sprinted across the grass.
You paused when you heard a strange sound, followed by a grunt. Where was Jack? In the gloom you could make out the hunters circled around him, prone on the ground. What was he doing?
"Ted! Ted stop!" You called quietly as you tried to catch up to him. He stilled vines whipping out from his body as he turned. Ted chirped and tilted his head to you.
"Jack! Something happened he's still back there." You exclaimed. Ted made a groaning sound before he scooped you up again. You'd stopped being surprised by this now and instead gripped onto the moss of his back when he placed you there. He could be surprisingly nimble for such a large creature, moving swiftly back through the labyrinth and up to the manor.
"Wait stop here." You called slipping down off his back to land on the ground. "I'll sneak in here, we have to figure out how to go about this without getting caught again."
Ted grumbled some approval looking around before pointing off to the glass domed roof. You nodded and he jogged off towards it as you kept low around the side of the building. There were windows and doors but the likely hood of an alarm being triggered was high.
It took some time by you found your way to an open door. An elderly man walked through and past into the halls of the home. You wedged a foot in the gap letting him walk on before slipping through.
For an awful few moments you worried an alarm would blare. That they somehow had more security that would descend on you again. Had you fought harder, risked killing those who hunted you first maybe you'd never have ended up here. Then again if you had perhaps you'd still be alone.
All signs showed you were too late. A commotion in one of the rooms drew your focus and you slipped in with armored figures before the doors shut. Jack was gone and Elsa remained in a cage at the center looking terrified. The other figures spun around the room but missed your sudden appearance. It was only when a werewolf dropped from the ceiling you realized you were the least of their concerns right now.
You rushed the cage as attention fell upon the figure tearing into the security. You could barely take your eyes off the attack. Wild fur, pointed ears, snarling and claws. All was a blur of motion and snapping.
"Elsa!" You called to her. She was already moving to climb out of the cage but you bent the bars ahead of her. She frowned a little but smiled to you with a curt nod. She clambered out as your eyes focused again on the werewolf, preparing to fight back if it came to that. Something in it's scent caught you then, a warm musk and his face still painted.
"Christ is that Jack?" You asked watching again as the werewolf leapt to another foe. Elsa didn't respond just rushing to the wall to grab a sword before the hunter in white reappeared. It had to be right?
You sensed the hunter diving to the side as they took a swing. You tucked and rolled bashing into the wall. You looked up stunned feeling the nights events hitting you harder now than before.
The bloodstone matriarch was in front of you the vibrant stone flashing and you hit the wall again. You let out a shriek and collapsed to the ground, black spotting in your vision as you spied Jack hurling himself at her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack awoke as he did most nights after a full moon, though maybe feeling a little worse than normal. His body ached from the change, his mind reeling and confused as he tried to piece together the events that lead him here.
A soft song drifted on the morning breeze as he groaned pulling himself out towards Ted. He struggled to his feet, cloak wrapped around his naked body against the morning chill. Ted offered him tea and he took it moving to sit with his friend as he recollected himself.
His hands shook. Elsa? He'd been trapped in there with her. He asked Ted but his conscious was clear. She was fine and well back at the manor. Ted and him joked as he began to feel more himself. The night coming back to him in reverse he was startled by another thought.
"Wait our new friend, y/n, the vampire?" He asked Ted in a sudden panic. Ted shifted his leg chirping an explanation. He'd smashed into the estate, scooped up this one and took them with him as he ran off to find Jack. They now laid curled up in the shade Ted provided at his feet. Sleeping soundly in the dewy grass it seemed.
Jack admired their peaceful expression before Ted mumbled something. Jack felt the heat rise to his cheeks and he huffed.
"No! I was just worried they were still caught is all." He grumbled, crossing the cloak in tighter as he buried himself in the tea. Still considering Ted seemed to have taken a liking to their new friend, perhaps it wouldn't be so hard to convince them to come along?

🎁đŸșYour Birthday Surprise From JackđŸș🎁(Jack Russell, aka, Werewolf By Night x Gender Neutral Reader)
Genres: Platonic Fluff, Birthday Platonic Fluff, and Surprise Birthday Fluff
While you were grocery shopping you couldn't help wondering why Jack Russell was letting you go shopping by yourself. You thought it was unlike him to let you go by yourself, aside from hero duties that he needed to do. You knew he was up to something, however you still couldn't figure out why he just had you go to the grocery store without him, because it was unusual of him to do so, especially on his free time with you.
When you got home from grocery shopping, you've seen some party decorations, then Jack came out while holding a cake, as he happily said, "You're earlier than expected...". You replied, "Well, Jack... There's not as much traffic, as it usually is... Anyways, what's with the party decorations?". He replied back, "Well, (yn)... Since I know today is your birthday, I figured I'd work on surprising you today... I noticed you're carrying some groceries in the house... Here... I will put the cake on the kitchen table quick... Then you let me help you with putting the groceries away..."
Once Jack helped you put the groceries away, he letted you relax on the couch, as he continued prepping up for your birthday stuff. When he finished with prepping up for you birthday stuff that he was prepping up for you, he had you go inside the kitchen, before you saw that he made your favorite food (which you enjoyed best when he cooks it), the presents he wrapped up for you, and the same cake he was holding earlier, except that this time the cake was finally decorated, the way you ended up liking it.
Your birthday turned out to be the best birthday ever, for you. You really enjoyed your favorite food that, Jack cooked for you, you thought the cake was absolutely delicious, and you even are happy with the presents he got for you. He was really glad you enjoyed your birthday.
After you finished eating everything, he decided to wash the dishes... And you decided to help him wash the dishes, even if it is your birthday. You figured it's atleast fair for everything he did for you on your birthday and you want to help him with atleast something.
🌝🎂TheđŸșEnd🎂🌝

bedrest (jack russell)
Tumblr media
jack’s wife feels a little under the weather. (pregnancy arc!)
(warnings: sickness, very brief mentions of nausea and vomiting, mentions of food, and, obviously, indications towards pregnancy! just a short little fic about how cute jack is when he’s playing nurse; word count: 2.5k)
Tumblr media
It starts with a heavy feeling around her temples. Her shoulders sit sorely, and the ache spreads all the way down to the small of her back. There’s a pressure behind her eyes. The core of her throat becomes sticky and swallowing suddenly is something she has to think about doing, and doing it sends sharp prickles radiating through her neck.
Now, hovering over the kettle as it rumbles to a boil, she can feel her head becoming foggy, growing faded; trying to have a clear, linear thought feels exactly the same as trying to run in a dream. A torpidity descends, and her attempts to lift the kettle and pour it into her mug are frail to say the least.
This kind of grogginess usually fades in the first hour of being awake, for her, even with the emergence of a somewhat regular nausea that she attributes to her recent attempts to quit caffeine. It also isn’t often accompanied by the other strains; this feeling has been lingering since late last night, and has carried over into the current noon. She’s trying not to let it worry her, but she has a worm of worry nibbling at her, telling her things are about to get a lot worse.
Her splashed tea sits on the countertop brewing as Jack comes into the kitchen, holding a pile of books and gesturing at them with all the excitement of a cartoon dog. He’d been fiddling around in the garage for the better part of the morning, having gone out before she even woke; the telltale sounds of boxes sliding and falling over one another (followed by his swearing) filtering back into the house had given him away. Now, he emerges, triumphant.
The grin he greets her with is unavoidably adorable-- the crook of his snaggletooth lends his smiles an eternal air of childlike glee, and it still turns her belly with butterflies, even after all this time-- and she tries to return it as he rounds furniture between them to come plop the stack next to her.
“I found the moving box our biographies ended up in,” he chirps, holding up one with a picture of Che Guevara’s face on it and wiggling it tantilizingly. “I can show you the part where--”
Jack slows himself, plainly noticing something off in the atmosphere. At times, it can be disturbing how perceptive he is; always her trusting, bouncy Puppy, she forgets that Jack is an old, experienced soul, and is keenly attuned to senses she couldn’t imagine possessing. Keeping secrets from him has never been an option, and whatever obliviousness he plays at melts away immediately, replaced by the his clear and instinctive observational nature. She’s being reminded of that nature, now.
His voice trails off, movement stilled, as he sets the book atop the pile on the counter and she feels an uncomfortable gnarl rise up in her tummy at the thought that Jack is somehow disquieted, off-put. She wants him to keep rambling about Cuban political history, even if she’s hardly in the headspace to digest it; she wants things to be normal, for nothing to be wrong.
She puts on an expression she thinks is close to reassuring, and turns to see that he’s scrutinizing her, green eyes coasting up and down, but lingering primarily around her face. Embarrassment flushes over her features as she tries to look away, somehow admonished, back towards her likely overbrewed mug when she feels Jack’s wide fingers gently slip under her chin.
“Look at me for a second, honey.”
His words ring soft; whenever he drops his voice into a low whisper like this, his accent becomes stronger, taking on a breathy quality that makes it stand out. His consonants mellow more, and there’s a languidity to his long, warm vowels, melting her resolve as he guides her chin, half with his voice and half with his hands.
He tilts her face back towards his, ever-so-lightly, and allows his thumb to brush her chin in a soothing arc when their eyes meet again. Now that she's facing him, she can see Jack's brows drawn in focus, his gaze studying every inch of her; his full upper lip parts from his lower one as he blows out a concerned breath, and she watches him as he guides her chin up with one hand and trails his fingers down along the tense sides of her neck.
"Your throat is swollen," he mumbles, gaze not breaking from her neck. "And here
 how does this feel?"
He puts two warm digits against the pulse point below her left ear and presses, ever so lightly; she pulls a sour expression at the sudden awareness that there is pain underneath. Jack tuts something she can’t quite make out and apologetically rubs the breadth of his palm against her collarbones, sweeping from side to side and warming her clammy skin.
“That’s your lymph node, mi amor. ‘S not so bad, in terms of the swelling, but it’s not good, either
”
Turning over his hand, Jack presses the backside to her forehead and squints, trying to take her temperature. After a few fruitless attempts, he wrinkles his nose in frustration and puts his hands on her shoulders, squeezing together softly. She likes the pressure and the affection, but can’t help the twinge of pain that shoots across her face when she feels her sore muscles clench, and Jack notices.
“Oh, lo siento, I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to--”
“You’re fine, Jack,” she manages, noting with no small share of resentment that her voice hurts to use. “I just have a knot in my shoulder or something.”
“You need to get to bed,” he says firmly, coming to her side and putting one hand on the small of her back and using the other to lift her hand, interlocking their fingers so he can guide her as he starts walking.
“I don’t need to-- I have tea, hon-- I’m really okay, I swear--”
All her fruitless attempts to babble something convincing are met with a stern glance from Jack, who continues walking up towards the stairs that will lead to their bedroom. She’s hardly putting up that much of a fight, all things considered-- she’d walked with him this far, and she’s letting him coax her up the first few steps, with his wide palm resting just above her hipbone and pushing lightly-- and her glances back towards the puddle of tea around her mug don’t dissuade him from his pursuit.
“You don’t need to be up,” he counters, effortlessly steering her up the curve in the staircase with all the genteel grace of a ballroom dancer, “And I’ll bring your tea. Or, actually, I’ll make you something else; that batch didn’t smell so good.”
She shoots him a pointed look, and Jack merely smiles entreatingly as he sweeps her up the last few steps and towards their bedroom door, left slightly ajar. His hands haven’t left her, and he strokes his fingers up and down the notches between her knuckles, smoothing over the skin there as he tips the door open with his shoe and he tugs her into the room.
Their spacious bed does look inviting. She’d forgotten to re-align the pillows and comforter this morning in her sluggishness, but somehow the rumpledness draws her further still, and Jack can see her strength of will ebbing. A smile twitches at the corner of his mouth and he leans over, kissing her cheek.
“I want you to rest,” he says. “I’m worried, amorcita.”
“It’s not that
 bad
 didn’t you say so yourself?”
“The swelling,” Jack corrects, tugging her closer to the bed and lifting his one hand from her hip to pull the pillows from his side of the bed so that her stack will be taller. “I said the swelling wasn’t so bad. But, and I, uh, I don’t mean to be rude when I say this, mi hermosa, but, um
”
Setting her lips in a thin line, she glowers at Jack, who gives her a hangdog smile and gestures for her to sit on the edge of the bed. Obliging him, she does.
“You don’t look so well
Um, I mean, you are so, so beautiful, as always,” he stammers, fluffing the pillows in his discomfort, “But, you know, drained? It’s kinda dark around--”
He touches her face and traces the hollow under her eye with the pad of his thumb, giving her a sympathetic frown. She sighs; she’d known she looked a little worse for wear this morning, but was hoping it wasn’t terribly obvious. Yet another embarrassing reality she can’t hide from Jack, she supposes. But, still, Jack shows no signs of being embarrassed, himself, by her situation: instead, he hovers, as attentive as ever, as affectionate as usual. It remains a resolute comfort to her.
One tan hand lays itself on her shoulder and tenderly guides her into a prostrate position on the pillows, her head elevated as Jack bends down and lifts her legs into the bed. She could have done it herself-- she’s not that incapacitated-- but he seems intent, and watching him tend to her is a sight in and of itself. Once her legs are situated on the bed, Jack covers her in the comforter and strokes up the length of her side, fingers tracing the outermost edge of her over the blanket and coming to rest under her chin, where he again guides her into looking at him.
“I’m going to go make you something to drink,” he instructs, voice again low, “And something to eat. And then you’re going to sleep.”
His tone broaches no argument, but there’s a glint in his eyes; Jack’s a born caregiver, always looking for the chance to help, to support, to uplift. She wonders if, on some level, he likes when she’s sick so he can more openly dote on her, or if, maybe, her dizzy mind has spun off in some obtuse direction. Whatever the case, the reality of Jack’s lips on her forehead sets in, and she sighs contentedly at his touch.
“I’ll be right back, bebĂ©,” Jack mumbles into her hairline. “You be good for me and stay here, yes?”
Some kind of agreeing hum issues out of her as she eases herself back against the pillows; she does have to admit, it feels good. As sore and taut as her body is, and as irritating as swallowing and breathing has become, it feels good to be here, in her bed, with her husband taking such measures to ensure her wellbeing. Knowing he cares, and cares enough to actually do something to improve her situation, however minimally, is itself a kind of balm to her wounds, and she lets her eyes close as Jack pulls back, trying to relax.
“My sweet girl,” he purrs. “Stay right there.”
She has no plans to move, really, but the praise is nice.
Tumblr media
Jack ekes open the bedroom door, trying to support the tray in his hands while guiding the door with his hip; it’s hard to balance a full bowl of pozole and a mug of tea, surprisingly, as the liquid always wants to travel. Somehow, he manages, and quietly enters, smiling to himself as he’s met with a familiar sight.
His wife, prone in the bed, hair messy and limbs curled in on one another, deeply asleep. She’s buried into one of his pillows, and heavy, exhausted breaths slowly fill and escape her lungs as she burrows in, slightly, unconsciously. He wonders if she can smell him on the sheets the way he can smell her, and hopes that she can; her scent brings him endless comfort, and he wishes for her to feel that same comfort, especially now, in a time of need.
He sets the tray on the bedside table, clearing aside her accoutrements-- a few loose hair ties, a paperback, an off-schedule weekly caddy for vitamins-- and sits beside her on the bed, stroking the hairs that have stuck to the sides of her face.
She’s remarkably beautiful, in his estimation, even when crashed asleep and, yes, drooling into his pillow. There’s something eternally enticing to him, some quality that he lacks the poeticism and deft to describe. Decades of digesting art and he still finds himself at a loss for words, entrapped by the magnitude of his love. What can he say that she does not embody, herself?
Jack’s fingers brush against her cheeks, and she feels markedly hot: he’ll remember to bring in cooling pads and fresh water. He lifts one corner of the blanket to try and let some air in to hopefully stablize her temperature, somewhat, and as he does, he sees her belly, exposed from beneath her shirt.
He reaches in and settles his hand flat atop it, watching his broad palm cover her skin as it rises and falls with her breathing. In and out, up and down, Jack slowly curls and unfurls his fingers in time with her inhales and exhales, pulling his fingers in as she draws in a breath and splaying them out as she lets it go. He sits in absolute stillness as he practices, revelling in the sensation of her soft skin under his fingertips, the tiny brush of her itty bitty peach-fuzz hairs around her navel.
Distantly, when he breathes in, Jack can detect the tang of her stomach acid in the bathroom, and knows she must have gotten sick again this morning when she woke up. He tries not to let the thought run wild through his head and send him reeling, but he can’t deny the inkling of hope that’s growing ever more steadily inside himself.
All those articles and books he’s read over the years have indicated that this is very common-- a decreased immune system as her body devotes its energy towards a new kind of growth-- and that she would feel nauseous, tired, and even feverish in the very early stages. If, indeed, that is what these symptoms indicate; he tries again, in certain vain, to steer himself off the path of foregone conclusions. He has to be more patient, he tells himself, even as he strokes her belly and allows himself to imagine it rounder, firmer, higher.
Jack also allows himself to push the sheets back just a little bit further and lower his face to her tummy, kissing her bellybutton as lightly as he can.
“Be good,” he whispers. He wants to believe he’s only speaking to himself, but his smile can’t help but wriggle past his obstinate will and onto his face. He kisses her again. “For her, please.”
When she wakes, he’ll make sure she eats and drinks. He’ll massage her tired shoulders, if that’s what she’d like, and pop her aching back, then coax her back to sleep. But, for now, he pulls the covers back over her and sits still, tracing a hand along the curve of her sleeping jaw as he watches her dream, lost in one of his own.

Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your breathing was slowly coming back from gasping for air, gasping to come back to reality after living out the intense high that you were feeling. Eyes still closed, hair askew all over your pillow and along the cool cotton sheet below you, sweat gathering along your skin. Your senses were on fire and heightened, yet the one thing that was grounded and keeping you connected to reality around you was the pair of lips along your skin and calloused fingers along your bare hips and thighs. Salt and pepper hair ticking your chin and cheeks, stubble touching the underside of your jaw, and a warm body against your own.
"Amor.....oh Amor, you'll be the death of me,"
You grinned and finally opened your eyes lazily to see the man perched above you, watching you with love and a hint of alluring lust in his bright eyes. His own body language was still filled with electricity, sweat along his forehead with his hair plastered there along his skin, he too was gasping for air and yet sounding as if he could go again. Maybe he could, since this was your third time cumming that night.
Your husband, werewold and monster hunter Jack Russel, brought it up actually.
Tumblr media
You two were visiting your best friend's house earlier that day, your best friend Emily from college just having a baby and was finally letting friends and distinct family come see her newborn son. You were itching to see her and to meet your new "Nephew", getting a massive shock when you arrived at her house that you were now his Godmother. Such a massive title and responsibility was now on your shoulders, but you took it in stride as she handed her son over to you. You were instantly in love with your Godson, inheriting his mother's light hair and his father's cheeks.
As you were tending to the baby, Jack was chatting with Emily and her husband Travis, catching up with Travis on their careers and what was coming up next in your travels. You were rocking newborn Aiden gently as he slept, content on soaking up some time with him and simply enjoying the newborn in your embrace. Yet you never saw Jack out of the corner of your eye watching you grin and hum to Aiden, a smile on his lips and his heart swelling with the sight of his wife holding a baby.
When you two made it home after another hour of visiting, Jack immediately wrapped you in his arms and peppered you with kisses. You thought he was simply being coy, Jack was always affectionate and willing to love on you when you two were alone. It was a sweet side of him that you never wished to diminish. The way he held you close as you were against the counter, about to make dinner, it made you grin widely as he was behind you and pressing kiss after kiss along your shoulders and neck.
"I want one," he said against your skin, you leaning against him as your fingers were interlaced on the countertop.
"Do you?" You asked coyly, though he grinned against your neck as he kissed it softly as a teasing gesture, "And here I thought we were going to wait and take our time together. That was the plan right....mmph,"
His half-hard cock was along your ass, rubbing against you as he licked your neck lightly and you almost collapsed from the touch.
"Maybe I had a change of heart after seeing you hold that little one...picturing in my mind you carrying our own little one and us being parents," Jack whispered against your ear as he kept rotating his hips against your backside, your mind going fuzzy, "I think we should try, Amor,"
"T-try?" You asked in a squeak as his spare hand snuck to the front of your jeans to pop the button open, letting his fingers sneak under the jeans and against your panties to feel how warm you were. You moan, Jack chuckling from hearing you crumble.
"Trying for a baby is the best part, isn't it?" Jack hummed against your neck, "Plus...I think I'm a bit rusty. So what do you say, Amor? Wanna try for a baby?"
"God yes," You sighed, Jack turning you around and kissing you hotly against the counter as you were leaning into him. Your mind was running so fast, thinking only about Jack and being this close to him. It wasn't that you two never had sex, your sex life was quite healthy and a bit active. But this new side of Jack, almost primal and organic, was making you feel that drive too as he hoisted you up and planted you on the countertop.
You yelped, sitting on the countertop as he hastily stripped your jeans off your legs to throw them behind you while he sunk to his knees. You were in a daze, seeing this dominant side of Jack as he caressed your bare thighs and saw the light purple panties that were right in front of him.
"I don't think I can't wait, my love," he growled, kissing up your thighs and having you tremble and try to grasp onto something on the kitchen counter, knowing you could turn into jello from how he was making you feel, "But I wanna get you ready first."
He paused between your legs, looking up at you with his nose barely touching your panties and feeling how wet you were getting as his bright eyes were looking at you as if he was a predator about to pounce. You lost your breath for a long moment, seeing Jack on his knees in both a submissive and dominant way.
"Hang onto something," he softly commanded you. Then within a second, he pushed your panties to the side and dived into your legs, having your moan out loud in your empty home.
That was just the beginning.
Tumblr media
"We've been going at it for hours, baby," You said to Jack as he wrapped you in his arms, you both still bare under the cool sheets and yet running hot with the open window nearby to help take down the heat in the room. The room alone smelled of sweat and sex, plenty of water bottles that were empty scattered along the floor with your clothes and lingerie as Jack caressed your belly gently with the tips of his fingers.
"Can't help it," Jack mumbled along your lips as you grinned, "The thought of you with a round belly, becoming a mother with my child, had me feeling hot all over,"
"You're downright sexy talking like that with me," You hummed, feeling his hands touch your bare chest all over to get you worked up all over again, "You've always seemed to have a higher adrenaline than me,"
"It's my wolf side, the side you like apparently," Jack teased as he licked his lips, "Plus, I wanna make sure I got you pregnant tonight,"
"After the first two times on the living room floor, I think it's safe to say I am," You reassured him as he nuzzled your noses together. Jack kissed you hotly, building up that heat again as he made your thighs part once more. Reached down to pump his cock again between the pair of you.
"Can't be too careful though, can we?" He asked in a tease, then having you lean back in the back as he pressed the head of his cock against the folds of your already sensitive and swollen pussy, "I wanna try one more time, baby. Please let me? I wanna really make sure we're gonna be a mommy and daddy after tonight,"
Mewling, you nodded your head, thinking of nothing better. You two loved each other fiercely and with no hesitation, for as long as you two wee together there was no doubt that you two were an item. Jack showed it in his kindness to you, in his actions as a gentleman, and in bed when he would take you apart in the best ways.
You both talked about having kids in the past, children will be in your future. Jack wanted to be a dad as much as you wanted to be a mom, and you both decided to wait on that chapter until you both felt it was right. So maybe it was finally right, and instead of being hesitant about it, you were going toward it in the best way.
And as he sunk into you again, you moaned and whimpered in relief as he rolled his hips deeply and intimately, The mood of love was still in the air for the pair of you as you both orgasmed two more times before finally calling it quits.
3 months later, Jack finally got his wish as you gave him the positive pregnancy test.
The End

Jack Russell with a tall SO
Tumblr media
okay starting off Jack is what we like to call a 5'7" slice of heaven y'all
you make that man's face light up like a kid on Christmas that got a visit from the ole jolly fat man himself
he is constantly touching you in any way shape or form
when he sees you putting lotion on after a shower he just sits and watches, mesmerized by the scene in front of him
he is convinced that your long legs are the road that leads straight to heaven
birthday, christmas, anniversary, etc. Jack is constantly begging you to wear heels when y'all go out because seeing you embrace your Amazon like stature has him feeling things
he loves to wrap his arms around your waist and even if his head can't rest on your shoulders he just buries his face in your back because let's be real this man's love language is totally touch
one of his favorite things is when he'll sit between your legs while y'all are watching a movie or show and you'll just wrap your legs around him a little like it makes his brain short circuit
his favorite position to have you in is missionary because he loves when you wrap your legs around him and make him feel like it's only you two in the world
he will purposely buy some oversized shirts so that you can steal them and wear them around the house
seeing you wear his clothes has this man ready to lock the door, unplug the phone, and break your back like a glow stick until people send out a search party because they haven't heard from you
if Jack is ever driving don't wear shorts because he will be too distracted to focus on the road and y'all won't ever get anywhere
he must admit if there is one thing that he doesn't like about your long legs it's that you always end up with more blanket than him, but it also gives him a great excuse to just snuggle right up to you
can not get enough of you wearing shorts or short skirts, that is a one way ticket to boner town right there my friend
let's just say that y'all went to the beach for a week once and he barely let you out of the room because his self control went straight out the window when he saw you in those bikinis
whenever he goes down on you he makes sure to kiss all the way up your legs because this man appreciates and is the king of foreplay
Jack is an ass man no doubt about that my friend
he will always be finding ways to have a hand on your ass regardless of where you are unless it's in public of course
we all know that Jack has a major breeding kink and don't even get him started because he just can't wait to "start his own little basketball team" with you

Sorry I Couldn’t Save You - Jack Russell x F!Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: angst, unsaid feelings, violence
Tumblr media
You and Jack had a weird relationship. You would help him and Ted when it came time for the full moon but the rest of the month they ignored you much to your dismay since you got along great with the both of them. Always remembering Ted’s sushi order and the way Jack liked his coffee, but alas they still kept their distance.
Right now however you couldn’t keep yours, it was the day of the full moon, sunset was soon approaching and the three of you were enjoying your coffee, when a twig snap caused Jack’s ears to perk up.
“There shouldn’t be anyone this far into the woods,” you say cautiously looking at both Ted and Jack, “especially this late in the day. You guys leave first, I’ll stay with camp, it was probably just a deer.” You smile at them. They seemed to hesitate before going, the sooner they left the sooner you could check out the noise.
You weren’t a fellow monster, just someone who happened to care for Jack once after a full moon, you were just a regular run of the mill human. You of course had your gun because who would go into the woods without something to protect yourself with.
Long after Ted and Jack are gone and the sun has gone past the horizon a man steps out of the tree lined area. He is dressed to the nines with weapons—a hunter—he eyes you.
“What is a young girl such as yourself doing out here all alone?” He asks, looking around the campsite.
“oh you know camping, it’s a nice night out,” you say as your hand is over your pistol. A howl is heard causing both our heads to snap towards the origin. You both stare at the other before you take off running in the direction of Jack.
A hunter this close to their camp and your home was bad—you could hear his footsteps coming towards you, you willed your feet to carry you faster only to be tackled to the ground. You moan out in pain and you realize you rolled your ankle on a tree root, the burly man was on top of you pulling your hands behind your back.
“You little bitch, you were a distraction. How could you help that thing!” He pulls you up and ties your hand behind you, “what are you to it? A fuck toy? Are you it’s baby making machine?”
You keep your mouth shut, you aren’t going to give him anything. You owe that to both Ted and Jack to keep them safe.
“don't want to talk? Fine. But if I have you then the monster will come to your rescue,” he pulls out a knife out of his buckle and leans it on your cheek, “I’m going to make you scream. If you scream loud enough he will come little pet.” He drags the knife down your cheek. You wince, swallowing thickly.
“You won’t break me, you piece of shit,” you spit at him, earning a slap to your face.
He tosses you against the trunk of a tree. You think to yourself ‘he’s not gonna care, I’m nothing to him, we aren’t even technically friends. I'm just his patch up person.’
He looks up at the sky, it seems as though time has sped up from your small encounter as the moon is already half way down the sky. You smirk to yourself, the quicker the moon leaves the sky the sooner Jack and Ted will be safe and away.
he picks you up again, walking you back to the camp the two gentle monsters call home, he has you leaned against a tree.
Soon the sun peaks over the horizon, another full moon has come and gone. The hunter covers your mouth before you can even warn a sleepy Jack who stumbles back into camp. He’s looking around for you. You can feel the tears well up in your eyes as you watch him turn his back to you.
“This is too easy. There’s nothing you can do.” He begins loading his gun, a distraction you take advantage of as you scream at Jack to run.
In his sleepy state he doesn’t process the threat but he turns to see you running at him, a sleepy smile graces his beautiful face.
You have just enough time to turn around and face back towards where the hunter is standing and pointing his gun up in Jack's direction.
“No!” With your arms still tied behind you rush in front of Jack just as the hunter pulls the trigger. The force of the shot spins you around as you look at Jack with wide eyes. His green eyes widen in shock as he catches you and falls to the ground with you cradled in his arms. He quickly unties your wrists to give you some semblance of comfort. Ted is behind the nameless hunter in a matter of seconds disintegrating the man.
“Y/n, w-why did you do that?” He asks as he looks down at you, tears already forming in his eyes.
You can feel the blood pouring out of your wound, there was no way you were gonna survive this, you smile up at him.
“Be—because,” you lift a shaky hand to his cheek, “I care about you Jack, I—I care about you and Ted and I need you both to,” you wince, “safe”
“I need you to stay with me, I care so much about you. I pushed you away to protect you.” You wipe his tears away as Ted goes to sit beside you, holding your free hand in his.
“You have always been saving me, now it’s time I return the favor.” You continue, “please stay safe, you and Ted. I have friends in London, if you ever need anything. Their names are Spector, Grant and Lockley, they can help with anything. Until we meet again.” You let the darkness overtake you.
“Hey hey, no Y/n please stay awake, no, no, no, please. Open your eyes mi querida,” he cried into your lifeless body, “I need you here with me,”
He just holds you and cries, “I’m sorry I couldn’t save you” are his final words to you, he places a gentle kiss against your forehead.

You sat on the sofa, jack resting his head on your legs, watching some shitty movie. You didn't have much to do, everything in the house was clean, you were all done with work, and jack wasn't in the mood to go out.
"This is boring" you said stroking his hair
"It is" his said with closed eyes, enjoying the head rubs.
You sat like this for another minute before you decided to do something "fun", slowly stroking down his face, feeling his freshly shaved face and warm breath on your fingers.
You reached his throat, his pulse quickening, Squeezing a little and continuing down to his collarbones and chest. He started breathing faster, shifting in your lap
"What are you doing hermoso?" He said nervously
"Shh" you shushed him sliding your hand to his nipples and playing with them.
You felt them slowly hardening and jack making small and quiet grunts, finally making him moan when you rolled one in between your fingers.
Taking the hand out of his shirt, you lifted it up and helped him get it off, sliding your fingers down his stomach to his happy trail, going past the waist band into his boxers.
He was already half hard, thanks to the werewolf horneinnes, so you started stroking him slowly, using the pre cum as a lubricant. He whined like a puppy and started bucking his hips up, trying to make you go faster, but just as he started getting harder you took your hand out making him pout in frustration.
"Up" you commanded and he stood up in a second "strip"
His pupils dilated and cock jumped in his underwear, oh how he loves when you tell him what to do.
He slowly pilled his clothes off until he was standing in front of you all naked, cock fully hard and red, leaking with pre cum.
"Come here" he climbed on top of you, wrapping his legs around yours and hands around your neck.
You kissed him slowly, savoring the bitter taste of coffee on his lips, swallowing every little sound he makes. He pressed closer to you, trying to touch as much of you as possible, grinding his sensitive cock on the rough fabric of your pants.
He looked angelic, so desperate, cheeks flushed with a bright red color, heavily penting and gripping your shoulders for dear life.
"Ok you can continue" you gave permission to unzip your pants, he did with trembling hands eagerly taking you in his hand and rubbing your cocks together. You let out a sigh, marking his mascular thighs with your fingernails.
You decided it was enough and flipped jack on his back, taking off your clothes completely.
"Lube?"
"No, no please, I need you now-"
"I don't wanna hurt you, be patient and wait a minute " you packed his soft lips and got up to take the lube from your shared room, taking your time on the way back. Don't get the wrong idea, you did want to fuck Jack's brains out, but you also wanted to see his desperate face, begging you to touch him.
When you came back down you saw him touching himself.
"What do you think you're doing"
Not giving him time to answer you took his wrists and pinned them above his head.
"Naughty boy, now I gotta wait before fucking you."
He cried out begging you to go inside him, but you didn't give in.
You took off your clothes, putting his legs on your shoulders and and hugging him closer to you.
Bending down you placed wet kisses on his inner thighs, sucking and biting the tender skin. You left marks everywhere, his thighs, ass, and carefully licking his entrance. You looked up to jack gripping his hair with one hand and his knee with the other. His mouth opened soundlessly eyes rolling back.
Continuing licking the pink ring and going in with your tongue.
"Ah please, please amor, i- I need you"
You smiled at his begging and the nickname, you lived when he spoke Spanish to you, he always called you hermoso, amor or Cielito. Sometimes jokingly referring to you as papi chulo.
Just the use of the word made you softer "patience" you told him, sucking on his balls and than his cock.
You licked around the big vein that popped on his length, going up and down, driving him insane. The salty taste on your tongue gave you shivers.
You went up and sucked on his tip, earning a loud moan from your boyfriend. Using teeth a little to torture him (he loved it) and sliding your tongue in his sensitive slit. He was already shaking, even you didn't even begin yet, as you planned. Going down deeper until you could feel his pubes, and the end of his length at the back of your throat choking you.
His little noises were heavenly, but you desperately wanted to make him loud, make him scream. You didn't care about the neighbors at that moment, the worst they could do is give you a dirty look.
You took your mouth off of him with a pop to take the bottle of lube in your hand and put some on your fingers. Rubbing them together to make it less cold you carefully circled around him and slowly inserted two if them in his pulsing hole. He let out a relieved sigh, taking everything he can get from you.
You moved your hand in and out adding fingers every few minutes. When you felt he was all ready and relaxed you took your hand out, making him cry in protest shortly followed by a loud moan when you slipped your hard cock in.
His toes curled and you swear he looked like he was about to pass out.
"Ay dios!" It's like he forgot the English vocabulary, his brain went blank.
You started slow, pumping into him with a steady rhythm, feeling him warm and tight around you.
You were going painfully slow, not wanting to give in to your lover's begging. His breathing was heavy, chest rising every second, tears falling down the sides of his face.
"You're doing so good" you reached up his face petting his hair in a comforting pace "you want me to touch you?" You whispered in his ear, leaning forward towards him.
"Yes, yes, por favor" he somehow managed to say those words without stuttering, tightening his legs around your waist, pushing you even deeper.
Softly kissing his lips you started sliding you hand down his body until you reached the lower stomach, where his red tip was laying and leaking all over.
"Alright, just because you've been a good boy today"' the nickname always made his body tingle, sending warmth down.
Wrapping your hand around him you started stroking him matching the pace of your own thrusts.
He couldn't keep quiet anymore, making the most beautiful sounds you like so much and bucking his hips up.
"Yes that's it, don't hold out on me" you started increaseing the speed of both your hand and pushes, feeling the familiar feeling down your stomach spreading to your legs.
Forcingly pushing yourself in, your couch started squeaking.
"Do you wanna cum?" Trying to catch your breath, not stopping for even a second.
"SĂ, SĂ, por favor, te lo ruego" god how you loved when he speaks Spanish, especially in times like this.
You sped up as much as you could, even though you legs hurt and you could barely breathe, but it was worth it when you so the expression on Jack's face; his mouth wide open, not making a sound, head tilt backwards and hand gripping your hand that holds up his legs.
He made a painted scream as he came all over your hand and his chest. The sight made you desperate to cum, continuing to fuck him throughout his orgasm, eventually spilling inside him , warmth spreading through him.
You let out a breath, slipping out and collapsing on top of him, you sweaty bodies connecting together and your boyfriend's cum smearing between the both of you.
"You know, we still need to clean you up" you spoke after minutes of silence, taking his face in your hand and turning him towards you kissing his swollen lips
His eyes went wide, breath catching in his throat.
You bent down to start you job.

black magic jack russell x reader
+++++++++
guess who watched werewolf by night finally!!!! this man is stuck inside my brain. we love some scared puppy/wet cat energy!!
based on the lyric: "I guess a big bad wolf is afraid of the cat"
Song: black cat bone by the haxans
+++++++++
I awoke suddenly, a sharp Inhale of air forcing it's way into my lungs as I came back to life. I smiled to myself in the darkness, reaching my hand up and tapping my sharp claws against my coffin lid. It was Halloween once again. The time when the dead can roam and monsters play free. In one swift push against the latch and the door swung up and open. I could feel my pupils getting thinner as the sun light hit my eyes, pouring in from the windows of the crypt.
I could hear howling in the distance already and looked forward to the bleakness the evening had to offer. I sat up slowly, moving to lift myself out of my resting place. The webs in my hair fell softly against my face as I jumped down from the pedestal, landing on my feet with a clack from my heeled shoes. I looked up quickly as the door to the crypt opened, a small-framed man stepping inside, breathing frantically. He seemed to be running from something. I watched him through the thin rays of light as he closed his eyes and leaned back against the bow locked door.
"You won't find much help from the dead."
I said and he jumped, grabbing for the door again but stopping to weigh his options.
"And what about the living?"
He asked, half turned away from me. I could tell he wanted to run but he still wasn't sure if what was on the other side of that door was worse.
"You won't find them here."
I said with a laugh, placing my hands firmly against my hips and shifting my weight to one foot. He drew his brows.
"If you are not living then what are you doing?"
He cocked a brow and turned more to face me, his hand still on the door handle. I sighed and smirked at him.
"Most would say dying..."
He held his breath.
"And are you?"
"Am I?"
He cleared his throat.
"Dying I mean."
I huffed a laugh.
"Been there. Done that."
He dropped his hand slowly.
"So you know what's out there?"
He asked and I drew my brows.
"Freedom I was hoping."
He sighed.
"Hunters. If you even know what that means."
He dropped his shoulders in defeat. I smiled at him before cracking my knuckles.
"I take it you were the mutt I heard earlier. And here you were, kind enough to bring me a new toy to play with."
I started towards him and he shifted to the side quickly. I could hear his heart rate quicken as I passed him to open the doors. My eyes rolled back as the fresh air hit my cold skin. I could feel the blood starting the pump through my veins. I could smell them. The hunters were close, stalking like they usually did.
"What is your name mutt?"
I asked, turning to look at him as he peered around the door at me.
"J-jack."
He stammered, the hunter getting closer. My eyes flashed white as i theard him charging at me.
"Thank you Jack."
I said, snarling, and turning around quickly. I grabbed the blade of the sword flat between my palms as the hunter thrusted towards me.
"over Here!"
He shouted before I ripped the weapon from his hands.
"Tag."
I whispered, pushing my hand up into his throat, forcing my nails through his trachea. He dropped instantly, the blood pouring out into the grass beneath him. I looked up and to the right as I heard a twig snap. Another man came running after me, launching and axe my direction. I stepped to the side, watching it hit the tree across the way and ducking as he came at me with his fist fully loaded.
"You're it."
I said, punching him square between the shoulder blades, hearing his spine crunch. He screamed out in agony as he fell to his knees.
"Monster."
He accused through gritted teeth. I stepped towards him, straddling his feet as I stood behind him. He was struggling to catch his breath with his back stuck arched in place.
"I know you are."
I said softly before slicing my nails across his throat and pushing him to the ground beside his fellow hunter.
"Watch out!"
I heard from behind me. I spun around quickly but it was too late. I was having a dagger shoved through my collar bone by a third hunter.
"Does no one understand the rules of tag?"
I said annoyed, pulling it out of my chest, looking at the Inky black goo that covered the knife. He looked at me horrified.
"You're evil."
I sighed angrily, shoving the dagger through his eye socket and watching his face twitch. His mouth hung open as he groaned, collapsing. I relaxed as I heard jacks heart rate slow, guessing that was all of them.
"Thank you."
I heard his voice softly, as he stepped out into the open. His eyes were dark and set back. His suit was a deep green and his teeth were crooked. But his smile was nice. Genuine. He was handsome. For a mutt.
"For what?"
I asked harshly, crossing my arms over my chest.
"For saving me."
I raised a brow and smiled.
"Thanks for bringing me some entertainment on this fine Halloween evening."
I said a little snarky. He stepped forward and held his hand out for me to shake.
"Let's start again shall we? I'm jack, a-uh, a werewolf."
I obliged and shook his hand.
"Y/n, skin changer, cat, witch, etc, etc."
I said and he laughed, which I gladly shared a sentiment in.
"Impressive, terrifying, awe-inspiring . Someone with many hats I see."
I could feel what little blood I did have rise to my cheeks. I nodded, dropping my hand back to my side.
"Dead as well, I suppose I need to add to the list."
He got quiet and his smile shrank.
"You were woken."
He said knowingly and I nodded.
"I have till midnight."
He looked to the sky ,the sun had began setting.
"Well then y/n, if you don't mind me asking, may I make this Halloween a little more interesting?"
I smiled and laughed.
"More? Interesting?"
He laughed as well, looking to the ground as he crunched a few leaves under his boot.
"I know this place, a dance as it were, where a few monsters go on Halloween. If you would care to accompany me."
He held his hand out for me to take and I gladly took it, minding my nails as not to hurt him.
"A cat and a dog together?"
I joked and he cracked a wide smile.
"Oh no, what will everyone think?!"
My eyes lit up.
"I would like that jack, I could use some company. For the first time in a long time."
He smiled widely and guided me towards the entrance of the cemetery.
"It would be my pleasure cariño."

Tumblr media
Jack Russell x Reader
Fluff just pure fluff. Doing a couple short fics atm to get back into it. Still only sleeping few hours every couple of days rn
Summary: Jack cuts movie night off short when you cannot seem to stay awake.
Does anyone know if Ted can eat?
Working with Ted and Jack was exhausting. Constantly on the move, sleeping rough in tents and run down motels. That was if you were lucky. Between constant fights, hunting and running there was very little time to rest.
Until now.
There'd been a break in cases. No new trails to follow or friends to rescue. Just a couple weeks in a cabin in the woods with your two closest friends and a bunch of DVDs to watch.
"Please!" You called. Jack groans a response from the kitchen while you lounged on the sofa. Streams of days last light lit dust like fireflies through the cozy space. The sweet smell of the popcorn drifted through with Jack as he stomped his feet slightly.
"Really? Wolfman?" He cringed as he joined you.
"You said I could pick first!" You joked as you reached for the popcorn. Jack swiftly held it up over his head with a chuckle. Not deterred you continued to swipe for it half climbing over Jack to claim a handful.
Before you fingers could even graze it Ted had the bowl snatched as he stalked across the carpet. He grumbled something shifting his shoulders in what you could tell was laughter. Jack immediately stiffened under you before you shifted your weight from where it'd been pressed against him.
"Well...uh...it's fine...." Jack stammered, clearing his throat before jumping up to grab the remote. You nestled further to the middle of the sofa, making room for your largest companion. Ted rumbled an appreciative sound before moving into the space you'd created.
As the film droned on you couldn't help the heaviness in your eyelids nor the way your head slumped against your palm. You really were exhausted in that bone deep way. Still you fought it off best you could. This was the first real break you'd shared with Ted and Jack and you didn't want to fall asleep on them.
Fate had other plans as Jack soon realized. He'd hardly been paying the movie much attention. Instead he was lost in symphonies of sensations. Your thigh pressed to his, the heat radiating across his skin where your bodies made contact. Then the slight slowing of your breath as you relaxed further, a shoulder coming to rest against his own.
He didn't dare take his eyes from the screen. He'd had enough of Ted mocking his flustered state around you. He just took a deep breath in an effort to calm himself. Big mistake.
He was overcome with your scents. The shampoo you used that always made him drift in closer; the sugary sweet where popcorn graced your lips, even scent from your skin. The natural scent of you that had slowly become so mixed in with his own that it made his head spin.
Jack almost yelped when your head flopped down onto his shoulder. Barely managing to not flinch hard enough to knock you off. You just grumbled before nuzzling your face closer into his neck. Jack stiffened under the sudden affection turning to look at Ted.
Ted for his part was trying hard not to wake you either but his obvious amusement at the situation was clear. Wide red eyes bemusedly staring back at the rising panic in his friends face.
"mierda, Ted!" Jack whispered fighting down a whimper as he felt your breath fan across his throat.
Ted rose slowly from the sofa, the shift in weight causing you to tip closer against Jack. Ted huffed a laugh moving quietly to your abandoned phone.
"Don't you dare hermano." Jack hissed. Ted bared him no mind snapping a couple of shots before setting the phone back on the table. He scooped up the popcorn and bid his floundering friend goodbye and heading outside.
Jack cursed again before relaxing into the warmth. Without judgemental eyes watching he started to enjoy your closeness. Still it didn't sit right with him the way you were bent against him.
As softly as he could manage he slipped an arm under your knees and brought you into his lap. You grumbled again slightly and he stilled until you settled against his chest. He hoped you couldn't hear how fast his heart beat against your cheek.
Jack rose with you caged securely against him, taking smooth steps he carried you through to the bedroom. Looking down at your resting face he felt his heart swell. You looked so peaceful despite the dark rings under your eyes. God why hadn't you told him how tired you were? Movie night could've wait.
Gently he rested a knee against the bed, leaning down to lay you against the mattress. Your fist bawled up against his shirt, gripping the material as your face crumpled. Jack's heart leapt back up into his throat. In this your most vulnerable state you sought him for comfort? The thought was almost too much for him and he could feel tears pricking in his eyes.
Softly he took that hand in his, rubbing a thumb over your bruised knuckles. Your hand gripped his lightly and he rose it to his lips, brushing a kiss against the marked skin. You hummed slightly in your sleep, face relaxing again before your fingers grew limp in his grip. Jack smiled bringing your hand back down to rest on your stomach.
He rose slowly, pulling the covers over you and heading to the door. At the threshold he took another glance back at your sleeping form.

Hey Rose!
Mind if I request a werewolf Jack Russell (2022 Special) x Reader fanfic where Jack is just acting like an overly excited puppy when the reader comes home?
I will definitely see about writing this request anon, however considering (that I read of) there was no specific gender for the in any way possible nor gender neutral reader being mentioned about in this request (especially (for what I'm using as) the examples, rich girl reader, spiderman reader, son reader, or daughter reader)(😅), hopefully it would be alright with you, if I write this fanfic as "Jack Russell x Any Gender Reader" in this fanfic for this request😅😃👍I also may write more than what you requested, since I'm starting to get more ideas from reading your request and writing this fanfic you requested down💡đŸș👍
*Hopefully this image I picked out based on your request would be alright, anon😅
Tumblr media
đŸș💙I Will Makesure You Never Leave Home Again And Hold You Tight...💙đŸș((2022 Special version) Jack Russell (aka, Werewolf By Night x Any Gender Reader)
Genres: Fluff and Head Cannon(?)
*Whenever you had to leave home without Jack Russell for any reason, he would try to ask you to stay home, as if later on would never come. However when you tell him you will be back from whatever you need to do, he will still be sad, however he will understand. After you leave home for anything you need to do, he will wait on the same room where the door is or a room close (or closest) to the door, until you come back home.
*Once you come back home, he will definitely miss you so much to the point where he will act like an overly excited puppy (up to reader's imagination if he licks the reader's face or not) and he will hug you, so tight and will not want to let you go anytime soon. Regardless how long you've been gone (wheather it's only a few minutes or even a few hours) he still would act like this, because to him a minute would feel like a few days to him for some reason. That's how much he would miss you.
*While you tried to cook any meals, Jack Russell would definitely hug you from behind. Once he starts hugging you from behind, he will refuse to let go of you, no matter what you say to him, until you finish cooking. The only way he will let go of you is bribing him, however finding ways to bribe him will be difficult, so unless you find the right way to bribe him, otherwise you're stuck being hugged by him non-stop, until you finish cooking the meal you are (or were) cooking.
*After the both of you get done eating supper, if Jack Russell sees you doing the dishes, he will definitely help out with washing the dishes. Infact, he will help you out with any chores that he finds out that you're doing. He just loves helping you out, just as much as he loves hugging you and you in general.
*Everytime you go to bed and he's not asleep yet, he would definitely constantly cuddle with you. It's one of his favorite past times he likes to do with you. He will snuggle you even after the both of you fall asleep, no matter who falls asleep first. Bonus: He will occasionally talk in his sleep by saying, "I will makesure you never leave home again, as I keep you in my arms to keep you home with me, (Any Gender Reader...".
💙đŸșThe EndđŸș💙
Well my Tumblr Peeps, I hope you enjoyed this fanfic😃👍As for you anon, I hope I did well with this Jack Russell fanfic you requested, anonđŸș👍

penumbra. (jack russell)
Tumblr media
jack and his wife are separated during the full moon. (set in the events of the pregnancy arc!)
(warnings: descriptions of food and eating, non-descript vomiting, scenes of fear and anxiety; first ever attempt at writing slightly angsty, potentially hurt/comfort fic(?), everything works out so don’t worry! word count: 6k.)
Tumblr media
“Beaver moon,” Jack says, hands in his pockets. He’s staring at a patch of clouds that are skating rapidly across the icy blue sky, nose high in the air. Smelling the wind for what’s to come.
His eyes flick to the side to catch a glimpse of her as she comes to stand next to him, arms crossed over her waist to brace against the chill, and he extends a hand to invite her to stand closer. She does, and she is instantly met with the radiating warmth of Jack’s feverish body temperature as he pulls her into his side; he rubs a hand along her upper arm in soothing arcs, and the heat of his touch comforts her.
“Beaver moon?”
When he’s distant, lost to her, she’s found that pressing him with innocuous questions can help draw him out. An easy opportunity to explain something can warm him back up to talking, and one hapless conversation may branch into a more expository one, and she hopes that getting him to talk about this will help him talk about that. It’s on the horizon, and, presumably, the driving force behind his shift in mood.
“Yeah,” he breathes. “November’s moon. That’s what they called it in, eh, the Farmer’s Almanac.”
He chuckles a little and shakes his head, gaze returning to the skies, and she watches his face as his eyes wander farther and farther away. His thumb creates slow circles on her elbow as he holds her close, and when he does speak again, he mumbles.
“They re-named all the moons of the year. Borrowed--” --he says the word with some sourness-- “--From the people already here. Made up new names for old things. I remember when they started. But there are names, real ones, that people do use.”
Jack turns to look back at her, and she can see something dark hiding in his bright eyes. She knows the expression that has come to linger all too well, from the severity of the lines between his eyebrows to the way he pulls his lips taut, chewing the inside of his cheek. The crease over the bridge of his nose gets more pronounced, and the darkness under his eyes brings a haggard weight to his gaze. A hardness of muscle, a thinness of blood, a lack of color. He’s afraid of something. She feels the knot of fear growing in her belly, too.
She should be used to it, by now. Sometimes, she feels like she is. But every month, like clockwork, when the atmosphere will become tense, Jack’s anxieties become her own, no matter how much she tries to assuage them.
“This month’s a total lunar eclipse,” he adds.
“A blood moon.”
Tumblr media
Jack never tells her exactly where it is he goes, and he insists that she doesn’t tell him where she’s planning to go, either.
“Just make it deep into the city,” he reminds her. “The deeper you go, the harder it will be for me to get there.”
“Jack, you wouldn’t--”
He puts a hand up, firmly halting the conversation, and finishes putting the last of his clothes in the duffel bag. As he zips it up, he glances at her and sees the hurt in her face, a downcast expression coming over his own. They’ve had this conversation before, but repetition it doesn’t make it any easier.
“I’m sorry, bebĂ©. I know. But
 we can’t risk it.”
Jack rounds the edge of the bed to come to her side, cupping her face in his hands. Regret and longing shadow him as he pets her cheeks, and she doesn’t like the way he’s studying her face; she’s afraid he’s looking at her for what he believes to be the last time. They’ve done this before, dozens of times, so why does this one feel so different? Shaking off the thoughts, she steels herself and holds his hand to her face, meeting his eyes.
“We have our systems,” she reminds him. “You’ll be alright. You’ll come back, all in one big, hairy piece.”
He wrinkles his nose at that. She can’t tell if he’s trying not to laugh or if he’s just uncomfortable, but whatever the reality, it doesn’t seem that her attempt at a joke broke much of the tension in him at all. Damn.
Instead of replying, Jack pauses, then bends forward and kisses her on the crest of her hairline. As his lips warm her, he draws in a deep breath through his nose, his eyes faltering shut as he takes in her scent. He inhales so deeply that she feels a few of her hairs lift off her head; it tickles, and she can’t help the small bubble of noise that escapes her. After a long moment of him standing completely still, nose pressed to her scalp, she feels Jack shift, turning to rapidly kiss every inch of her face.
“I,” he mumbles, kissing her temple, “love,” a kiss to her nose, “you,” a kiss to her cupid’s bow, “so,” now one on the corner of her jaw, “much.”
He plants another dozen across her cheeks and chin and ears and hair, until she’s certain he’s gotten each individual centimeter of surface area her face has, and then pulls back, hands remaining cupped around her face and keeping her in his view as long as possible.
“I will come back to you.” His voice is low, tired. But the promise is powerful. “And we will be alright.”
“I know,” she replies. “I’m going to miss you.”
“It’s only one night,” shrugs Jack, trying to seem blasĂ©. “You might like the break from me. Get a little ‘you’ time in. Watch something you know I’d hate. Eat something with mushrooms.”
“Sounds fun.” It comes out more mournful than she meant for it to.
Out in the yard, branches snap: the cue. Jack frowns, the lines of his face deeper than ever and she thinks, in that moment, that all the hundreds of years have abruptly caught up to him. Wordless, he sighs, presses his nose to her cheek, and gives her one last, long kiss, savoring the plushness of her lips and the scent of her skin, before pulling away.
He grabs his bag off the bed and then takes her hand, the two of them walking in tandem through the house until they reach the back door, where Jack opens it and sees Ted squatting in the bushes. The massive creature waves sweetly at the two of them, and she waves back.
“Take care of my husband,” she smiles. Ted nods his tentacled head.
Jack hesitates in the doorway. The hand that grasps hers guides their encircled fingers to her belly, and he lets go of her with a trail of his fingers across it. His eyes hold there before he scratches at one ear, surprisingly aggressive, and breaks himself from his reverie.
“I end up having to take care of him, you know,” grumbles Jack, a hint of a smile pulling at his lips.
Ted makes an elephantine grunt and Jack rolls his eyes.
“Ay, I’m coming, man.”
Finally, Jack takes the step to go. He walks across the yard, towards the treeline that leads into the forest, where Ted holds open a gap in the bushes. As he crosses the barrier into the woods, Jack looks back at his wife, and the two of them do their best to be the one to look away first.
It’s only one night.
She breaks first, wiping her eyes on the back of her hand, and when she manages to clear her throat and look back up, both men are long gone.
Tumblr media
Paying in cash at the hotel is always extremely embarrassing.
Jack insists, every month, that cards can’t be used-- “They leave a paper trail, querida,” he admonishes-- so he gives her a massive pile of bills to use at her discretion for the night. It always garners looks.
The concierge had raised both eyebrows and quirked his lips to the side before remembering his job and her presence, penitently smiling at her as he counted out the hundreds for the room, and she’d stood at the counter in a haze of discomfort while he made the key card.
She wonders idly if this one would spread rumors of a “lady of the night” or a “woman on the run” in the break room to his coworkers, then continues unpacking her toiletries on the bathroom counter, dismissive. It doesn’t really matter what he says so long as he and all the other people in this city make enough noise and light and stench to keep the wolf at bay.
That was the hope Jack had each month, sending her into the city: the hope that the chaos of human civilization would scare the wolf away from wherever she might be. That their secrecy would keep any memories, even subconscious, out of the wolf’s mind. That he wouldn’t know where to find her, even if he did hunt for her. That was the system.
So far, it has worked.
She does her best to whittle down the hours as sunset begins. Television, phone scrolling, reading, folding and unfolding her clothes for the night and following morning. None of it sufficiently puts to rest the images in her mind; Jack, locked in a cage somewhere, waiting for the agony to begin. Jack, alone. Jack, transformed.
Getting up from the edge of the bed, she moves to sit in the stiff, polyester-upholstered armchair by the window and stares out at the skyline. The city seems to be burning to the ground as the sun sinks between the skyscrapers and streets, dipping lower and lower into the horizon, before being extinguished as moonrise begins. Blue-black night stretches over the land, and thousands of streetlights and windows and signs flare to life, filling the darkness, pushing it back.
The room is too quiet, even with the television running for background noise. She fidgets with a loose thread on the arm of the chair as her stomach churns. She can’t stop thinking about Jack, and how his attitude had been so foreign; he was always withdrawn and anxious before the full moon, but he’d seemed more frightened than usual this time. Her gut contorts when she thinks to herself that he may have been giving her a goodbye, somehow, as if this was the end of something, and all of a sudden--
She bolts up from the chair so violently it rocks over, and rushes to the bathroom, collapsing on her knees in front of the toilet.
“For the love of God,” she moans, voice echoing in the now-full bowl. “Really?”
Nobody answers, but she stands on shaking legs and wipes her mouth with a tissue, flushing the whole affair down the toilet as she brushes her teeth and tongue forcefully. When she’s done, she kicks at the wastebasket in the bathroom and glares at her stomach as it makes a loud, wet growl.
“Seriously? Now you’re hungry?”
The sudden pang, both of pain and hunger, shoots through her and she narrows her eyes further, sighing in frustration and moving to get her coat.
Jack normally instructs her that once the moon is up, she cannot leave wherever it is that she’s hiding. Staying behind doors and walls and out of the open air creates interference, he says, and that interference is key to keeping the beast confused. “If he can’t smell you, he can’t find you.”
Well, wherever he is, she reasons to herself, he’s not going to smell her deep in the heart of the city, much less in the few minutes it will take her to get from her room to the nearby pizza place. The jacket is shrugged on and she opens the suite door, a cold thrill running through her as she breaks one of the rules of the full moon. So much for the system.
She breaks it further still as she leaves the hotel lobby and ambles into the restaurant a block westward, gazing at the menu blearily before ordering two slices: one of her standard order, the second a surprising combination of mushrooms, peppers and pineapple that makes the man behind the counter scoff as he jots it down on the pad. Another fistful of loose bills is tendered, this time to no surprise.
She takes a bite her familiar pizza, first, sitting at a sticky plastic table in the far corner of the restaurant, closer to where the cooking is happening. She figures that if she’s going to break the rules, she might as well balance it out by doing them safely by masking herself in the hot, smelly din of the kitchen. The pizza is a warm meal on an empty stomach, so it tastes better than usual, and she scarfs the first piece down quickly before turning her attention to this new order.
The mushrooms had originally been a little joke-- as one of Jack’s least favorite foods, they seldom turned up in any meals they shared, so she would order them when he was away-- but the other toppings had been ordered on impulse, all of them individually hungered for. Pineapple for its tart sweetness, peppers for their verdant crunch, mushrooms for their earthy meatiness; she piles a massive amount of the tinned parmesan cheese atop her slice and dives in ravenously.
It is a little strange at first, she admits, but scratches an itch she doesn’t quite understand, and she soon finds herself chewing through the crust, the piece decimated and digested. She marvels at herself for housing it that fast and wonders if she might have forgotten to eat earlier today, lost in all the stress of Jack’s departure. Not quite satiated by both pieces, she returns to the counter, orders another slice of the mixed-topping pizza, and takes it to go.
She walks out the front door with the piece in hand, clutched in a slightly oily napkin, and begins to walk through the cold streets of the city, watching through windows as businesses shutter for the night and families turn out the lights in bedrooms and dens. The world is getting ready to sleep, and she feels restless.
Midway across the street that would take her onto the block her hotel sits on, she decides that she can’t go back to the room right now. The stillness is too intimidating, too constricting. She knows that if she locks herself in that suite, she’ll sit, motionless, on the edge of the bed, cycling through the same thoughts that had led her here, making herself sicker and sicker. The mere idea of being in that sterile, dimly home-like room sends a clench through her abdomen, so she chooses to keep breaking the rules.
She takes a left and crosses another street, meandering into the city park that spans multiple blocks. She’d seen it coming in towards the hotel, and knows where the hotel sits in position to it, so she won’t get lost, she figures, passing through the low gates of the park and following the paved paths past a bed of trees and unpetaled rose bushes.
The grass underfoot crunches dryly, almost entirely dead, as she works on her piece of pizza and wanders aimlessly through the park. Now that she’s had about two and a third of these large slices, she’s beginning to feel full, and the remaining two-thirds slice in her hand is becoming less and less appetizing as it gets colder and she thinks more on her worries. She doesn’t want to vomit again, so she decides to give herself a break from it and moves to sit on an empty bench overlooking a glass-smooth pond.
It’s a calming sight: the park is entirely empty, the water features all turned off, and all that she can hear is the wind through the trees and the distant sound of traffic, muffled by the foliage. The night sky is dim, starless thanks to the city’s light pollution, but the moon, enormous and luminous, cuts through the darkness, viciously bright. It glows orange-red, the penumbra of the earth edging in; the blood moon.
She thinks of him as she stares at the moon, mindlessly picking at the food in her hands. The wind gusts a cluster of leaves down from the tree tops and they rain down onto the surface of the pond, sending ripples flowing across the water, reflecting red moonlight in arcs and waves. Somewhere, a dead limb cracks off a tree and falls to the earth with a heavy thud, and she jumps a little, nails digging into the mushroom she’d peeled off the pizza and was ripping apart on the napkin.
It occurs to her, now, that she is a woman alone in a major city, in a park, at night. She checks her surroundings carefully, noting no sign of other people, and tries to remember which way the hotel is; after a moment’s consideration, she decides that it’s to her right and that she’ll follow the path out to the nearest street, which she should be able to cross and get back to the hotel via.
As she begins to stand, another crack issues through the silence of the park, this one less heavy but nearer than the first. It sounded more like something crunching through shrubbery, something with enough mass to disturb leaves and snap branches. Human? Animal? She isn’t sure; do coyotes come this far into the city? She’d heard that they sometimes wandered the suburbs, attacking dogs; now isn’t the time to remember things about coyotes, she thinks. Now is the time to move. Her heart is pounding, dread setting in around her, and she moves as quietly as she can towards the path that leads right, staring at the space she thinks the sound came from. Unfortunately, it works: she sees what she’s looking for.
In the light of the red moon, she sees it.
Something massive, much bigger than any coyote could ever hope to be, rises from a span of bushes a few yards away from the bench, hunkered low but coming up taller and taller and taller. Every inch it rises is another dagger in her heart, her ears slamming with the sound of her blood, and if she had half a wit left in her, she’d scream: scream until whatever it was went deaf, scream until all the city knew where she was, scream until her throat bled. But all she can do is stumble backward, unable to take her eyes off the indistinct thing in the darkness, her body begging her to move back, into the light, into the safety of numbers, into anywhere but here, as everything else shuts down.
She keeps taking rapid, wobbling steps back, faster and faster, eyes transfixed, as the shape pushes out from the bushes and begins moving across the grass, shadowed and faster than anything she’s ever seen before. It races at her as she tries to turn around and run, and she begins scrambling up the path when whatever it is lets out an inhuman screech that crescendoes into an unearthly howl, so loud it rings her ears and makes her start dry-sobbing, trying, still, to run.
Before she can get anywhere close to the edge of the path, the creature is behind her, arms around her chest, yanking her backward into the night, and she finally manages to let out a belting scream before--
She is laying on her back, in the grass, at the side of the pond, and the thing is over her, staring down. Her body is pinned under the creature, with its knees on either side of her abdomen, one of its hands under the backside of her head and the other supporting the small of her back. The arms holding her still must be enormously strong, as she feels that her weight is not resting against the earth, but rather solely in the grasp of the beast.
It tilts its head from side to side as it inspects her closely, and she takes advantage of the moment to do the same. In the full, bright light of the moon, it’s much easier to see what exactly this thing is; it’s certainly humanoid, to be sure. Wide shoulders covered in a dense pelt of fur block out the sky behind it, and its bare chest is similarly hairy, tapering into a manlike waist. It’s all bare, actually, excepting a shredded pair of sweatpants that fit tightly against the creature’s lean legs and that are torn below the knee, making room for its massive calves. The hair seems to be densest around the thing’s face and neck, where it splays out in a dark mane, backlit by the moon to create a halo of red-brown tendrils that shift with every breeze. Its nose is long, flared into a wide, brown snout that clefts into two distinct curves of cartilage; every breath drawn through it rankles its top lip, curling it into a snarl. Twin sets of razor-sharp incisors glint wetly in the light, framed by lips that hang open as it breathes, hard, through its mouth.
Most noticeable, however, are its eyes.
They glow from underneath massive eyebrows, peering at her through the darkness, twin sparks of the aurora borealis. Green. They’re green.
Her own eyes swim with tears and her throat closes up, unable to make any sound but little sore gulps, and the creature bends down to rub its canine nose against her jaw, whimpering in the back of its throat sympathetically.
No, she corrects, not its: his. She would know him anywhere.
Jack pushes his face along the underside of her chin, whining into her neck, and uses the hand cradling her head to push her into the crook of his, rubbing her in. At first, the action confuses her, and she rankles her nose at the strong scent of his sweat against his damp, musky fur, but it dawns on her that the smell is, in fact, the purpose of the gesture: he needs her to smell him as he is smelling her. The wolf wants her to know that she is with her mate, and believes the scent is key to convincing her. She settles for winding her fingers into the matted span hair that covers his back and shoulders and crying, equal parts relieved and frightened, into his pelt.
She shakes and sobs as the wolf presses her to his chest, and Jack lets out pained, short barks, baying and howling pityingly. He pushes her as close to his skin as he can get her, and his skin is so hot it burns her cheeks, already sore from crying; if she didn’t know better, she’d think he was on death’s door with a fatal fever. As her breathing starts to lull and the sobs mellow into hiccups, Jack shifts her weight closer to him, rising to his feet with her in his arms.
The shock sends her scrambling in his hold, gripping onto his shoulders and yelping in fright. Jack lets out a huff and bumps his nose against her temple, a silent attempt to calm her, and he begins moving back towards the trees, seeming intent on going deeper into the park. Tentatively, she puts a hand on his chest and pushes, and he stops, head jerking back in confusion. She watches his huge eyebrows knit together and he bares his teeth; it’s not a threat, but a question, his familiar eyes searching her face for an explanation.
“Jack, we have to get you out of here,” she rasps. “You’re not safe in the city.”
If he understands, he doesn’t show it; Jack decides to keep walking toward the trees, and she has to push again to get him to stop. This time, he lets out a growl, his hold on her tightening, but he does relent and holds still, waiting in the shadow of a tree.
“Where’s Ted? Why aren’t you in your
”
Her voice trails off as she realizes she doesn’t know what to ask, and that even if she did, Jack probably isn’t capable of responding. He cocks his head at her and frowns, again pushing his nose into the side of her face and nuzzling against her skin, and she melts under his touch. For as long as she’s known him, Jack has been firm with her that this part of himself is too hideous, too deadly for her to see, but, now, all she can see is her husband, vulnerable despite the power of his transformation.
She takes a moment to do some mental math, weighing her options. She can’t let Jack out of her sight for the rest of the night, that much she knows, but how she’ll get him to safety is the truly unknown element. Getting back to their house wouldn’t be entirely feasible, as she’d taken a taxi to get here, and getting him back to wherever he chose to hide during his transformations was out, since she both did not know where it was and knew that wherever it was, it was not in any condition to hold him: he’d gotten out, after all.
That left two options: try to sneak Jack out through the city on foot, or

“Jack? Baby?”
His ears perk and he pulls his face out of her neck, head cocked like a dog listening for instructions. Jack’s pink tongue slips out and wets his lips and teeth and he flashes her something that she tries to interpret as a smile, but that reads more closely to a grimace. It endears her all the same.
“You need to come with me, okay?”
Tumblr media
Jack stirs with a groan, his eyes blurry and unfocused. Everything is scaldingly bright, burning his retinas, and he covers his face with a large hand, rubbing at his sore lids and wiping away the crust of a heavy, pained sleep.
“Morning, Puppy,” he hears.
Oh, still dreaming. That’s frustrating. Jack hates it when he dreams that she’s near, only to wake up alone. It’s like barreling headlong into a glass door. He rolls over on his side and throws an arm over his head, snarling through his teeth at the world.
Of course he’d have a dream like this after a night like that. Dream that she’s rubbing his back, dream that she’s pressing her lips to his hands, dream that her scent is wrapped all around him, filling the room.
He tries to burrow his face into the pillow and block out the light, only to find that his pillow is hot. Solid. Not at all fabric, but certainly plush. He growls in frustration, wondering if he fell asleep on top of a deer carcass again: that'd be hell to wash out of his hair. But the pillow smells like her
painfully so. He pushes his face in deep and moans in misery.
"Are you still hurting?"
"Yes," he says, voice rough and cracking. "Everything hurts. Miss you."
"...You miss me?"
Jack opens one eye and stares up at the fuzzy, dark shape hovering at the periphery of his vision. From a certain angle, and with just the right amount of blinked clarity, it does sort of look like her. He figures getting it all out of his system in a dream is as good an option as any, and he rubs his rough-stubbled cheek into his warm, rising and falling pillow, sighing.
"I hate being away from you, amorcita," he rumbles. "Makes me feel like complete shit. I already feel like shit, then I come out of it, and you're not there, and I become, uh, doubleshit."
"Doubleshit?"
"Mm."
"You're not doubleshit," she purrs. A hand strokes the exposed curve of his face and he tilts his chin to meet it; this is certainly one of his more indulgent dreams. Lusciously detailed. It'll be hell to wake up from. "You're alright, now."
Jack wrinkles his brow and scrunches both eyes tightly before reopening them, rolling on his pillow to face upward. His gaze clears and focuses: her face is now visible, looking down on him from above. He squints at her.
“...What are you doing?”
At his question she knits her brow and smiles, shaking her head in amused confusion.
She looks so beautiful that it takes Jack out of his mind and into a purely animal place: all he wants to do is stare at her, at the angles of her face, the slope of her nose, the curvature of her lips. He wants to ingrain this thought in the forefront of his mind and forget everything else; the pain in his body, the ravages of the night before, the wild haze of unclear memories. All that matters is this.
One of her delicate hands reaches down and scritches at his chin, right in his favorite spot, the one that always sends his leg twitching, and he’s too worn to hold back the relieved moan that issues out of him, his whole body oozing into languid comfort. His eyes flutter shut, and he revels in the sensation of her. Oh, she really knows how to get him.
When her nails catch on a rough patch of stubble that tugs a little, it occurs to Jack that he is not, in fact, dreaming. That accidental scrape of nails feels too organic to have been generated by his fuzzy mind; his eyes flash open, staring up at her.
She pulls back briefly, and Jack leans up, cocking his head. This is not a dream. She is there, sitting above him. His mind goes blank.
Jack pushes himself onto his elbows and looks around at his surroundings, bewildered, heart racing. This is not his safe room. These are not concrete walls. They’re wallpapered, with tacky, directionless paintings glued on. He’s laying on a completely destroyed mattress, body between her legs, instead of on the cold floor of his cell. He’d gotten out, somehow, and--
“Jack, baby, it’s okay,” she says, reaching around to wrap her arms about his chest and tug his back flush to her body. He trembles a little in her grasp, feeling her pressing reassuring kisses all along his face and shoulders, but the sound of her voice and the touch of her hands brings him back down to earth, bit by bit. “It’s just me. You’re alright. We made it through the night.”
“We
?”
“You
 found me, remember?”
A low series of curses in a mixture of languages seep from his lips as he turns on the bed, taking her face in his hands. He paws at her, tugging clothes aside and pushing her limbs this way and that as he anxiously studies every inch of her, checking her face and body for wounds, bandages, scars: any sign that the wolf had harmed her. He’d gotten loose? And, worse yet, he’d managed to get to wherever she was?
“Did I--”
“You didn’t hurt me, Jack,” she reprimands. His eyes rise up to hers; her gaze is firm, unyielding in its promise. “You were looking for me.”
“I
I don’t know how I got out,” he admits, stroking one of her cheeks. “I’ve never done that, before.”
“Well, it’s certainly a first, but
as far as I can tell, all you did was come to find me. I think you wanted to take me home, actually.”
He looks at the room. This is definitely not home.
“But I, uh, didn’t let that happen.”
Jack frowns. This just keeps getting more and more mystifying.
“You fought the wolf?,” he asks. When she rolls her eyes and shakes her head, he frowns even more deeply and presses further. “Then
 what?”
“I just
asked you to follow me. I took you back to the hotel.”
“We’re at a hotel?!”
Reeling, Jack holds onto her shoulder for support and stares out at the room. Of course. Her hotel room. He recognizes all the telltale signs-- the chipped wooden furniture, the clunky black plastic amenities, the pale orange lighting-- but sees all of it in disarray. Claw marks line the overturned armchair by the window. Stuffing leaks out of the loveseat. All the sheets are shredded, the mattress beneath them carved with long, hard gouges. He thinks he sees bite marks on the legs of the writing desk.
The idea that the wolf was in a hotel room at all flummoxes Jack; that he could pass dozens, maybe even hundreds of opportunities to hunt, all sitting quietly in their little, individually-wrapped rooms seems impossible. Surely, he must have left a wake of destruction behind himself... right?
Jack peers down the entryway and notes that the front door of the suite is shut, with the desk chair shoved under the handle at such an angle that the door is, essentially, barricaded. He wonders if she put that there to keep others out, or to keep him in; either way, it seems to have worked. He can’t smell blood, nor decay, though there’s a minor tinge of stomach acid. She must have gotten sick rather recently, at least within the last hour, and Jack lets out a frustrated whimper at the idea of her being ill and his being unable to help her.
He collapses into her, pulling them both down onto the mattress, and exhaustedly moves his head to lay on her body. He isn’t even particularly conscious of his movements, just letting his instincts take over and guide him, and he ends up curled around her, his head firmly pressed into her belly, hands gripping her sides as she pets his hair to comfort him. Everything washes over him in a depleting wave, and he surrenders to her wholly, burrowing his face into her and kissing mindlessly into her tummy.
“This is actually how you slept for most of the night,” she remarks, playing with the patch of hair over his right ear. “Just like this.”
Her belly must have been the pillow he mistook for a deer carcass. If he wasn’t so drained, he might have been a little embarrassed by the error. It doesn’t matter, now. All that matters is getting her home, safe and sound, and making sure that none of this follows them back. Pay all this off. Get out without being seen. Find Ted. Repair and re-structure the safe room. The list keeps growing.
But he’ll straighten all of that out later. In the moment, Jack just wants to lay still and revel in her: it’s the first time he’s woken up from a transformation with her right there, by his side, and it fulfills some emptiness he had only dreamed of easing. She’s here. She’s holding him. He’s safe in her arms. What more could a man ask for?
His hand straggles up and he lays it next to his face on her tummy, tracing intricate patterns into the skin under her shirt. The texture of her skin is so familiar and grounding that he nearly is lulled back to sleep, his eyes drifting shut, palm splayed across her belly, but he manages to fight through and stir himself awake, blinking heavily up at her.
“You’re incredible,” he manages. “I don’t know how you do it, but you’re, you know, just
 I love you.”
He’s not quite aware of his words, more cognizant of the feelings behind them than of their actual structure, and relents: maybe he can’t express himself like that right now. Still too frazzled. Instead, he settles for leaning in, and presses a kiss deep and hard into the softness of her belly. She pets the hair at the nape of his neck, mumbling her response distantly.
“I didn’t really do much of anything, I don’t think,” she says. “I just asked. You listened.”
The idea of the wolf listening to anyone should surprise Jack. But instead, he blinks, pensive, and nods into her stomach; if ever there was a voice that could compel him, both halves, wholly and completely, it would be hers.
“And I love you, too. All of you, by the way.”
“I tore apart a mattress,” Jack moans. “You sure you love that part?”
She laughs, the sound softening every line in Jack’s face as he relaxes into her, and she rubs his shoulders with a doting firmness that makes his heart sing.
“I do, actually; it was kind of cute. I think you were just trying to make a bed pile for us.”
“Leave it to you to,” he mumbles, trailing off, “to find something cute in a werewolf.”
“‘S not my fault. You’re the one who’s a cute werewolf. I’m just an impartial observer, making a statement of fact.”
Jack doesn’t have nearly enough energy to play-argue with her, but he has enough that he manages to open his eyes and stare up at her. Something looks different about her, now: a glow to her features, not quite new, but more pronounced. He wonders if she’s just his guardian angel, come to care for him, and that what he’s seeing is her halo; that must be it. Her halo.
Her light outshines the moon; the wolf bays for her, now.

Jack fell back and slammed the back of his head on the ground, the monster not too far away roaring in victory thinking it got the best of Jack. Although winded and slightly dizzy, Jack took in a long breath and got back on his feet again. Reaching for a dagger that was in his lower back pocket, he had it out at the ready as the monster was now rearing up to attack him again. Of course, Jack was ready to take some of the blow, merely because this monster was a bit stronger and had more girth and muscle in the arms and legs.
But it was shot in the back, grunting and falling it knees. Jack looked to see you, his wife and monster hunter partner of the last 5 years, wielding a shotgun in your hand and aiming at the monster's back.
"Jack, you seriously need to upgrade some blades," You said in a hum as you placed your shotgun down and gave your husband a knowing gaze, "They're very old school,"
"Who says old school is bad?" Jack asked in a challenging tone as he gripped the handles off his blades, "I refer a blade over a gun anyways, you know that. Guns are more violent,"
"They may be violent but they get the job done quicker, my dear," You hummed in a reply. Before Jack could even rebuttal again, the monster got up and whirled around to face you, screaming at your face and towering over you. The monster had a good few feet on you, though you stood your ground and you were about to aim right between his eyes.
Yet he fell down dead before you could shoot, and two daggers were in his backside.
"What were you saying about daggers, my love?" Jack asked in a coy manner, though you just gave him a playful glare in return.
Tumblr media
"Jack, I'll get you a shotgun for your birthday coming up,"
"I'm telling you, Amor, I'm perfectly fine with a blade or two in my arsenal. You've been trying to get me to use a shotgun for years!"
"And yet you have nearly died a handful of times because of those blades. At least have pity on me and get a pistol at least,"
"Gah, fine! Only for you, Amor,"
You grinned as he snuck in a kiss on your cheek while the kettle started to hiss. You took the heat off and then grabbed the two mugs while Jack got the tea bags ready, soft music was playing in the background on the radio as the cool spring night was upon you in your little apartment home.
It was such a unique situation for you and Jack, being married for several years and being partners in the monster-hunting business. But it worked, Jack wanted it to work very well since you loved each other far too much to let the other go. Compromises were made, negotiations had to be made, but in the end, it worked out for the best.
You were more prone to be the navigator and the tech-savvy hunter, whereas Jack was more prone to being in the field and elbow-deep in the actual hunting. Though you were fine going into the field when it needed to happen, you would prefer to be in the background.
However, when it comes to Jack, you would do anything for him to keep him alive.
"How about some Honey Lemond Ginger tonight?" Jakc asked you as he got the tea bags ready from the cupboard, "Early gray won't cut it after that ordeal dealing with our client,"
"He was a dick, asking for less than what we agreed," You hummed as Jack got the bags in the mugs and then poured the hot water over them both, "I think we need to blacklist him to the others in our network for a least a few months, let them all know what kind of client he is,"
"Let's not go that low," Jack advised you as he gave you your cup of tea, "And as I remember, we have a bit of a break between clients now. A few weeks off, what should we do then?"
"Hmm," You said to yourself, Jack wrapped an arm around your shoulder to lead you to the little couch in the living room. It didn't happen a lot, having some weeks off between clients and appointments. Although you and Jack were now becoming one of those hermit couples that would prefer to be in your apartment every night and not out and about like normal people, you still wanted to make time together. Some of those times you went camping, other times you would have a small getaway at an Airbnb.
"I heard the beach is very nice this time of year, out in California," You explained as you two were snuggling together on the couch, "You would look good with some sun on your skin, my love,"
"Are you calling me pale?" Jack asked in a mocked hurt tone, hearing you giggle as he poked your side, "I happen to like to keep my skin perfectly toned and an even color,"
"Sure," You joked, "Although the thought of you wearing a speedo is quite intriguing and so tempting,"
"Amor, I can wear something like that for you in the privacy of our own bedroom," Jack teased as you laughed, "But I do think the beach is a good idea. I like the idea of strolling along the shore with you, seeing the sun in your hair and in your eyes."
You blushed as he kissed your cheek, lacing your fingers together. Jack was still a kind-hearted man, even past the trauma he endured and faced, the lycanthropy that would be with him for the rest of his life, and the monster-hunting career that would take a toll on him every once in a while, there was still good in him and still love in him.
You two helped each other and leveled each other out in those rougher times, and it was just how you wanted it to be.
"Let's go to the beach then," You decided, Jack taking a long sip from his tea as you rested your head on his shoulder. You could picture it already, the cooling wind and the setting sun over the ocean waves and the inviting sand under your toes.
Jack could picture it too.
The End
