Si'Ha Nova - A shining icewing who caught the eye of the mysterious Traveler! As a dragon, she has frost breath due to the chosen dragon species, as well as honing some hidden powers of her own!

The Traveler - A particularly charming and incredibly powerful nightwing! Because of his chosen dragon species, he maintains his power of opening portals, as well as fire breathing (and perhaps even future sight.. we'll see >:3)

Wanderlust - The son of The Traveler and Si'Ha Nova, being a mix of icewing and nightwing genetics! Due to this gene mix, he carries the ability to expel a sort of fog as opposed to frost breath or fire, as well as The Traveler's portal opening powers (and, yes, maybe even future sight, muahahaha)!

Night Swan - A conspiring rainwing-skywing mix (with extremely minimal visible skywing features) whom possesses the ability to create a rather interesting smokescreen instead of fire given her majority rainwing genetics, since rainwings can't breathe fire. It's possible that she may be able to create venom-tainted smokescreens as well, in order to disorient opponents! Night Swan intentionally changes her scales to be a much darker color to reflect her villain persona, refusing to present her true colors no matter what (help this woman she needs THERAPY).

Jack Rose - The sky-rain hybrid son of Night Swan, Jack Rose possesses more skywing genetics than his mother, and thus as a result is able to breathe fire! Unfortunately he is unable to spew venom, but he may carry the ability to create smokescreens like his mother! His silver streak can change colors in accordance with his mood, with gold often symbolizing when he's truly happy (ex: while envisioning himself performing), silver indicating somewhat of a neutral mood, and a rather dark shade of pink symbolizing sadness/despair.

I rewatched the Dragon Prince recently since season 6 is coming out next month (WOOOOOO) so naturally i had to put my most recent blorbos in a The Dragon Prince Au

Jack

so Jack is a Skywing elf mage-in-training because the power set of Sky mages seems to match Jack's powers the closest. They create gusts of wind, storms, can fly, breathe ice breaths, and frost touches. It was a tough choice between that or a Moonshadow elf, what with the whole invisibility thing, but i just can't imagine Jack not being able to fly :/

And even though most Skywing elves dont have wings, i gave him the wings because vibes and because i can

i did add some moon opal charms to his staff though, so he can do some small moon spells

Toothless

i wanted to adjust some of the details to Toothless's design because i didn't want it to be a 1-to-1 of his design in HTTYD. I noticed the dragons in Xadia all have snouts, horns, and muscled forelegs, and i tried to incorporate some of that to Toothless. With a narrower head and longer legs and more hand like claws.

I added more prominent scales, nose plates (like the storm dragons in TDP) and tried to add more horns to spots on his legs and wings.

I also made Toothless a lot bigger than he is in the HTTYD universe because those Xadian dragons?? Excuse me?? Even a common one is still pretty huge!

There's also a dragon that exists in the Dragon Prince universe called a Midnight Dragon, and it's connected to the Moon Arcanum! They're said to have pitch black scales and are sensitive to light, so i thought it was fitting for Toothless. There weren't any pictures of the dragon tho so i kinda just made the design as i went.

Hiccup

i tried using costume designs from both the first two movies, with the vest, the belts, and the pant pattern.

colors took me longer to figure out, because i wanted to have some red (like in RttE) along with the greens and browns. Overall though im happy with how it turned out!

I think Hiccup would be the son of Commander or General Stoic in the Katolis army some years before or during the events of The Dragon Prince/Mystery of Aaravos.

These designs are for early in the story, before Hiccup loses his leg and when he meets Toothless for the first time. Definitely thinking that him and his village are known for their handling of dragons and elves in the region and then Hiccup shoots Toothless down just like in the movie. But as they become friends, Jack finds them and misunderstands the situation and thinks Hiccup is going to kill Toothless.

So that'll be fun >:)

Here's some thoughts

Magnus- Human prince/nature magic mage, his mother was killed by Fenris, whoes a dragon rather than wolf which obviously gives Magnus a phobia and hate of them he has to over come. Seems to have some natural non-dark magic skills but no one is totally sure how or where he got it from, was encouraged to keep his healing magic a secret growing up to protect himself by his father, but his mother thought it was wonderful and encouraged him to become even more skilled in his magic

Blitzen- Half human, half Sunfire elf. His father was a Sunfire elf and his mother a human queen. Was raised in elf society by his father at first but when he was still really young Bíli was killed by a dragon Fenris who hates all humans, conisdering Bíli a traitor for having a child with one. Would have definitely killed Blitzen too but Bíli made sure his son got over the border to the human side before being killed, where Blitzen was then raised in human society by his mother. (definitely got a lot of shit for his heritage both from humans and other elves) Still cousins with Magnus but they grew up together more like brothers. Extra protective of Magnus since he's well aware of Magnus' magic and knows how badly normal people might react

Jack- The baby sky dragon! Obviously an egg at first but like in the show he's hatched eventually and immediately ready to get into trouble. Has a natural connection to Magnus, who is very reluctant with his hate of dragons but Jack grows on him

Samirah- Half Startouched elf, half Skywing elf. Totally similar to Rayla in the show, originally trying to kill the human king Frey, but as soon as she finds the dragon egg switches priorities to protecting it. Loki was the one who sent her to assassinate the king (as well as Magnus) and she's struggling against a few spells he pulled on her to force her back under his control

Hearthstone- Moonshadow elf. His family has a long history as dragon gaurds protecting the dragon royal family but Alderman constantly told him because of his deafness he'd never be one. So when word started to spread the dragon prince was still alive he instantly headed out to try and protect Jack to prove himself as strong and capable. He also still has a struggle learning impossible and powerful magic despite being born with moon arcana as he's trying to learn all types of magic, something no elf has ever done.

Alex- Half Startouched elf, half Moonshadow elf. Alex was meant to be Loki's vessel on the material plane, but she quickly proved to be much too strong willed for Loki to control. She's pretty pissed knowing that was the whole reason she was born and dedicated herself to ruining Loki's plans whenever and however she could. So of course when she learned Loki wanted to get control over the dragon prince she set out to keep that from happening, mostly just to piss him off, but a part of her she won't admit to is just doing it because it's the right thing to do to bring peace. She has a level of shape shifting in this au, but it's only illusion magic making herself appear to be able to turn into different animals.

Randolph- Human dark magic mage. Absolutely is just Viren. Lost his family to a dragon attack, that he himself caused by provoking it. Now driven by a need to get revenge and destroy all dragons, he easily falls into Loki's influence. He's a lot more patchetic than Viren though, and quickly it becomes him just doing whatever Loki tells him with zero agency of his own.

Loki- Startouched elf. Also just straight up Aaravos. Banished from the material plane for crimes against elves, dragons, and humans, with limited ways to interact with the real world. Kinda like how in Mcga canon Loki is able to occasionally work up the energy to physically manifest himself in the material plane for short bursts of time. He usually uses that time to try and have some children, since again like Mcga canon, he has a lot of influence and magical power over his kids. Monster AU

Clay is a Satyr. He first figured out who his sibs were because they were also Satyrs, and so did Umber. He often finds anything nearby to chew on, due to his goat half.

Tsunami is a Naiad. She was originally the spirit of the cave’s river, though she kept switching what she was bound to during their adventures, ending up bound to the underwater lakes in Jade Mountain.

Glory is a Fairy. This is part of the reason why the guardians think she’s useless, though this infuriates her. She can change the colors of her wings to camouflage herself, to keep her hidden from them.

Starflight is a Ghost. He had an accident when he was young, and because he had not yet fulfilled what he saw as his ‘life purpose’ in the prophecy, stayed around. He is still somewhat awkward at common ghost abilities.

Sunny is an Angel-Human hybrid. She’s smaller than normal Angels, with smaller wings and no halo. The guardians just thought she was unusual, or a late bloomer.

Moon is a Witch. She’s the first in decades in the tribe, but is somewhat bad at typical witch things, however in an accidental spell when she was young gained prophetic and mind-reading powers.

Winter is an Ice Sprite. His powers are similar to Jack Frost’s, and multiple times he has attempted to freeze Qibli’s mouth shut, then fainted due to over exertion of powers.

Peril is a Banshee. Due to the legends surrounding them, SkyWings usually kill them. Her brother was going to be human, as she’d pulled the magic out of him. Her screeches haunted the arena.

Turtle is a Merman. He’s awkward and slightly chubby due to him never using his legs much, and Jade Mountain was the first time he had to go for a long time with them.

Qibli is a Harpy. He hates small spaces because his wings don’t unfurl well in them. His taloned feet often grab things, tossing them in the air and catching them.

Kinkajou is an Elf. She hated her blow-darting tutor because she often declared she was not ‘Elf enough’. She often proudly declares she’s a ‘new elf’, occasionally insulting people around her.

Umber is a Satyr. When he first saw Clay, he was lead to follow him due to the fact that his Troop was the only one made up of Satyrs in the nearby area. This is something he is very proud of.

Carnelian is a Sylph. She often angrily dissolves into air and buffets others with wind as she gusts past them.

/also a good excuse for drawing a colorful lizard thing, but shh/

Here we have pretty boy Jack as a silkwing/skywing hybrid (it’s from the Wings of Fire book series about the diferent tribes of dragons). He’s very big & strong, but at the same time really soft & gentle (he even has fur on his ears!). His head and little bit of neck are different shades of red, brown and purple, something that he inherited from his dad. The rest of his scales are beige and little iridescent. He doesn’t have wings, so that’s why he can wear his favorite sweater.

The inscription on the ribbon is pretty random.

The Dragon Prince Au Masterpost

So since i got so many ideas and thoughts for this au, imma just make a masterpost for this since i plan on expanding and adding more to it in the future. Thought it’d make context a bit easier to understand. There's quite a bit so buckle in fellas

Berk is an outpost village that lies along the border of Katolis and Xadia. The people and battalion there are known for their duty to ward off dragons and drakes when they get too close to the border, and they are based right on the edge of the border where both lands meet at the Gulf of Tenebris. 

The events from the first movie still kind of play out. Hiccup shoots down Toothless and hides it from everyone, but after learning about dragons and seeing that they’re misunderstood and that Berk has been provoking them, he then creates a disguise to help the dragons.

Of course, now everyone thinks that there’s a Sunfire elf out there fighting against them and why do they think he’s a Sunfire elf?? Because he creates Inferno in an attempt to mimic a Sunforge blade and paints his helmet to look like elf markings and builds in horns.

Jack is a Skywing elf, and a mage-in-training. He’s doing his best and lives with his mother and sister, Emily. Their village is to the north of the Ruins of Elarion and resides in the mountains.

He's out flying one day when he hears a dragon's roar and when he flies down to investigate he sees a human trying to catch a dragon. Filled with anger he jumps down and pulls up a spell, aiming it at the human, who stares back with his eyes wide and hands raised.

Hiccup was only trying to wrangle Toothless to try and put on a new and improved tailfin when out of nowhere a Skywing elf leaps out and points lightning at him???

So they get off on the wrong foot. But after seeing that Hiccup wasn't harming Toothless and Toothless was friendly towards Hiccup, did Jack lower his staff. He truly thought the human was going to try to kill the dragon to take it apart to send to the dark mages of the Katolin court. He'd heard stories of human "mages'' and their brand of "magic". But no. All that was in front of him was a startled human who had only been wanting to help a creature of Xadia.

and from there, their friendship begins.

Jack tells Hiccup about Xadia and Hiccup tells Jack about his home. They sneak off to hang out and take Toothless out flying. Jack uses Sky magic to make them go faster and higher and blows snow flurries their way to mess with Hiccup.

Hiccup brings pastries and food for Jack to try from home and gets him to try brown morning potion. It ends with Hiccup laughing on the ground and a cup frozen to the ground as Jack sputters in distaste at the bitterness

Jack manages to find a real Sunforge blade and gifts it to Hiccup. "Now you can pass off as a real Sunfire elf. Or at least close enough."

Toothiana is a Skywing elf. One of Jack’s friends and a family friend to the Frost-Overlands. She’s helped teach Jack some Sky magic but it’s not much. She tries to help him by hunting down books, tomes, and scrolls in her free time when she’s not busy

Bunny is an Earthblood elf who doesn’t stay in one place too long. But he does have a place on the outskirts of their village and sometimes lingers for a few weeks at a time before going back to his travels. His real home is in the Uncharted Forest.

Sandy is a Sunfire elf who passes through occasionally and is Tooth's source for magic books for Jack. Sandy lives near Lux Aurea but his work keeps him traveling around. He's a Sun mage and is currently hunting for the source of whatever magic has been corrupting creatures in Xadia and turning them into monsters made of nothing but shade and decay.

North is a human dwelling in Berk. He and Gobber run the smithy and create the defenses for the outpost and take turns running the shop. But North is actually a friend to Xadia (*cough* Bunny *cough cough* Tooth *cough* Sandy). It was the time before he came to Berk and he keeps these opinions to himself until he discovers what Hiccup has been doing in his spare time.

Astrid is the top-cadet in the training program at the outpost. Best in her class and has the highest chance of joining the Outpost Guard right off the bat. She and Hiccup are friends and she has trouble understanding his sudden reluctance to want to fight dragons and keep enemy forces at bay. This is their home. Doesn’t he want to protect it? Surely he must understand what’s at stake if creatures from Xadia were to invade. 

the rest of the teenagers are in the training program a well. Snotlout has aspirations to join the Katolin army at the Breach, Fishlegs just wants to study the flora and fauna of Xadia without it trying to kill him, and the twins... well they're the twins. They want to learn primal magic for pranks and get chased by a drake and cause havoc in general.

Jamie Bennett and his family live in Berk and Jamie has a secret that he's never told anyone. His best friend's an elf.

Jamie and Emily become friends before the events of the story start. And have been friends for months at this point. They've been lying to everyone to keep their friendship. So when Jack starts acting suspicious at home, claiming to go see some friends (he doesn’t have friends aside from her and Tooth) she starts paying attention to what he’s trying to hide. She fills Jamie in on it as well during one of their hangouts and he’s like “Oh weird, you know I've been noticing the Commander’s son has been disappearing as well.”

At one point Jack manages to get his hands on an illusion necklace, and gives it to Hiccup so that he can be fully disguised as an Earthblood elf. He wants to show him the beauty of his home and Xadia without the worry that he’ll get captured or killed and they spend a whole day going through Jack’s village and showing him everything. Emily follows along and keeps a sharp eye on Hiccup. 

She brings it up in their following recap. "So my brother had a friend over the other day... it was an Earthblood elf i had never seen before... he acted really weird." "Huh that's weird... Hiccup was gone the other day... no one could find him..." ".... Hiccup?"

and Pitch is a dark mage :)

At some point i may add more, but for now this is the base context for the Au. it was hard not to get carried away with adding even more but i think that about sums it up for now! Below is the art that's been posted already. I'll edit it as i post more but for now that's it!
