6 novels and 1 DVD I acquired. Watch me hermit some more, ahaha. Supernatural and horror vibe’s predominantly, classics and new titles. And of course, one pink book about a feline. This pile sims me up pretty well. 😂

I came across one of the older remakes of Alice in Wonderland, one that totally scarred my from the repetition of that cherry ripe song she had to bloody learn which got branded into my head, I must say this depiction was so 🫠 I prefer the others, but I like all Alice stuff and collecting what I can do, onto the shelf it goes! Not to mention my dear Gene Wilder being in it.

Reading a collection of Irish Horror short stories. I'm heartbroken to discover as a 25 year old that I adore Jack Higgins. I would have been absolutely feral for his writing as a teenager, and that alone is a missed opportunity. His writing is fantastic. He's an absolute master class author. I'm saying that after only a few pages. I had no investment in this story at the start, but now, 7 pages into "The Morgan Score," my heart is racing, and I care?!? I'm reading a collection of Irish Horror stories called "Great Irish Tales of Horror" simply because I happened to salvage it from my childhood home and I'm in a situation where I need to read to improve my writing.

It's improving. It's already improving. Jack Higgins, sir, rest in peace. You were one hell of an author. The level of nuance you've included in a story about the IRA and the choas that was the fight for Irish Unification in the mid to late 1900s is phenomenally mind-blowing. No doubt it's attributed to you living through it, but nonetheless. Most people couldn't write about the events of their own household with this much consideration.

The last of the Liam Devlin novels by Jack Higgins. A good story with a dramatic plot and the classic turn of fate that is prevalent in all of the Devlin tales.
