You know itā€™s funny - the number of celebratory posts I saw in cockles and heller accounts after jensen misha panel, I really thought jensen has finally started to pander them- but then I saw Jared and Misha's pictures and then I got itšŸ˜† I feel like Jared and Misha has better friendly relationship (at least outer) than Jensen. Jensen might be a decent coworker but he looks too egoistic to make friend easily.
Jensen seems like the kind of person to make friendly acquaintances, but have very few close friends. There's nothing wrong with that, but it seems like he's pulling back and steeling himself against former close friends and starting to treat them like friendly acquaintances. Whether that's due to ego or insecurity, it's hard to say.
But yes, Jared and Misha together are a match made in Chaos! LOL! They don't have to worry about where the other person stands in their friendship so they can just be themselves.

//Iā€™ve also never said they all hated each other. They just arenā€™t friends on the level you all make them out to be.//
Exactly.
I donā€™t know why people always have to try make Misha on the same level as J2? In terms of acting, career, relevance to SPN and friendship he just isnā€™t on their level. People trying to shoehorn him in must be bitter from bad high school experiences or something. They need ā€œquirky Mishaā€ to be ā€œinā€ with J2, just as talented, successful and close-knit as J2.
I also donā€™t think that J2 hate Misha, but their actions and his highly suggest they arenā€™t close with him. An actual friend would not feed Jared to the trolls and Jensen to the horny shippers constantly just to keep relevant with creepy fans.
Finally, Misha himself has said that j2 basically existed in their own bubble on set. There is no J2M bubble, and people should just accept it and like the relationships for what they are. Iā€™d say J2 are friends, were very close friends while filming, and Misha is a work friend at most.
Well said anon. You are spot on. Thank you!

HELLO, i have a question about j2m. Do u think they're close friends or even friends in this day and age? Im a new fan and i dont have that much info about them yet, but i love them dearly. and i want a non delusional answer from someone.
Hello,
It's nice to get a normal question, instead of the usual troll-ish ones.
Alright, let's get down to this.
Disclaimer: I do not know these these gentlemen or their families personally, and I am not even American. But I have been in the fandom since 2009, on tumblr since 2010 I think. So this is based on my observation from con panels, especially jibcon, and social media interactions with each other over the years. I have not been super active in the fandom since over a year though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you a J2M fan, you should watch this honcon panel that is a sheer definition of fun šŸ‘†šŸ½
I think Jensen and Jared hit it off initially and were friends on set and even shared a home for a while.
Later on, Danneel and Gen and J2 would hang out, but at some point they had a falling out. I personally think the ladies did not just get along wth each other, need not have been a big falling out. They are different personalities and strong women and it's not necessary to become besties just because their husbands work together. Later, the men themselves had a falling out, the details of which we might never know.
This post is far more well-researched and well-explained than I will have ever patience for šŸ‘‡šŸ½
Jensen and Misha, after a lukewarm start in early season 4 filming, started getting along really well. I believe a huge reason for this is that Danneel adores Misha, and she has always been vocal about it. Check out Jenmisheel tag to check out stories of their hanging out. One of the incidents is the story of Danneel and Misha eating chillies and Jensen laughing about, is one of the examples of this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But also, Misha has been a great influence on Jackles. Misha had quite a wild youth, his ex-wife even wrote a book on threesomes! But he became a father first, mellowed down and being older as well, you always get a sense that Jensen looked up to him. While his relation with Jared was more of a fun buddy, I get the feeling that Jensen and Misha have an equation where they can sit and have a serious conversation.
But all three of them, and the rest of the cast as well, did have a lot of fun together. Have you watched the mockumentary directed by Misha? If not, do watch.. you will love it!
By the final seasons, Jensen and Misha seemed very obviously closer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their 10 year friendship post by Jensen was far too serious, unlike other fun posts, so he seems to give a lot of importance to their friendship.
Currently, I think Jensen and Jared are cordial and wish each other on birthdays and other occasions, and the same with Misha and Jared. I think Jensen and Misha interact more often and touch base more frequently, but if they meet up in person, and how often is not something we know. Unlike say Richard Speight Jr and Rob Benedict, who were (are?) doing a podcast together, and so we know they hang out a lot. With J2M, they are not super-active on social media off late, so we don't know as much.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

If you asked me about J2M, i would say they're my favorite actors. If you asked me on a deeper level, i would say they saved me. In every way that they could. They taught me how to be myself, and it's okay to be different. Every time i feel sad or down or like I'm giving up, all i need to do is watch them on my screen, and I'll feel better. I'll feel hope in their words, in their friendship with each other, and how they carry on when times are tough. I would say i love them as much as a fan can love their idol.

It's always so fascinating to watch Misha's sense of humor whoosh right over some people's heads especially considering ALL of J2M have expressed their want for a revival in the future. Besides, I don't think SPN was really the point of his community text, it was more about the bonds of friendship that last beyond circumstances. It makes a lot of sense that he'd be feeling that way considering #KristaCon
I can see why people wouldn't read it as a joke
Tumblr media
But even if Misha was personally done with Supernatural, it ain't over until J2 say it's over and, based on what they've both said recently in m&gs, it ain't over.

potentially controversial take: i donā€™t understand why people are so against j2 and their brohood? they genuinely seem to love each other and enjoy each otherā€™s company and theyā€™re always referring to each other as a brother. i canā€™t help but be reminded of people who are so insistent that both/either of j2 arenā€™t really friends with misha even when theyā€™ve always said how much they love him!
no-one has to like all of j2m but projecting personal bias onto real life relationships is just going to end in disappointment, imo.
(i do understand perhaps feeling a little jealousy towards the amount of j2 content that comes out of ce cons, though, and desperately wish theyā€™d at least mix things up and have j2m panels. itā€™d be nice to see misha included more!)
mmm like i do agree that j2m are all friends in some ways, but i think the individual friendships look very different from each other (just based on everything i've seen and general vibes i get)
and there's a performative aspect to j2 panels that changes in intensity sometimes but it's always present. nothing that negates their genuine friendship, just something they bring out in each other and it has to do with the audience's expectations and fandom/con history in general too, i think
in the end we don't know what their friendships fully look like and the way we think about them will always be shaped by our biases

So how many times is it now J2 stans ran with "date night!!" because someone posted a cropped photo of J2 out somewhere on the town during con weekend trying to make it look like it was only J2 and then it turns out it was J2M and friends.
This fandom practice wouldn't be nearly as obnoxious if the stans who keep doing it weren't the types who hate on Misha, pretend Jared and Jensen hate him, and call the entire cast outside of J2 "leeches" and that anyone who thinks they are actually friends are "delusional," while trying to turn J2's long time friendship into some sort of weapon against all the other cast friendships.
Those stans just never seem to know how to enjoy their J2 content without being assholes about it and they make fools of themselves over and over pretending J2 are off alone in their special J2 only world when nothing could be further from the truth.

I've seen nearly all of J2M's panels, interviews, posts, read articles about them and their own provided works etc. I find them all observationally fascinating and approach trying to understand them and their different life experiences with an open mind and can acknowledge that certain situations aren't always going to equal the whole truth of a famous someone because I will never know them personally and therefore cannot ask directly. Conventions/panels, for instance: they're for entertainment purposes, part humor and sarcasm, part truth. Stories, interactions, are often going to be embellished.
Whilst none of them are perfect ā€” literally no one is! ā€” and of course I don't know them on an intimate, personal level, I still feel very confident in saying that they're inherently good people, based on the conclusions I've reached from my own research. That doesn't mean I'm incapable of scrutinising certain behavior or thinking critically just because I'm not agreeing with your opinions.
I could continue to refute a lot of your points individually by offering a different perspective (and draw attention to where your so-called facts are simply incorrect) but I don't think persisting with circular arguments is a worthwhile use of time. You're entitled to feel differently about these things and clearly have made firm decisions based on the "evidence" you've gathered about Misha in particular. I rest assured knowing your POV is not the majority. āœŒļø
I mean youā€™ve been sending me long anons for days already and Iā€™ve gone to the trouble of providing sources for all my claims for *you*, I donā€™t know why you couldnā€™t do the same if youā€™re already invested in talking to me anyways. If thereā€™s individual claims I made that you take issue with because you donā€™t think theyā€™re credible and I didnā€™t supply my sources, please be specific, and Iā€™ll provide what I can to show either what Iā€™m referring to or how it brought me to having my opinion. I think people just make excuses and justify questionable behavior in order to keep their attachments to them. Even if you think youā€™re looking at them critically and from a distance, youā€™re still fostering a parasocial relationship, and nobody is ā€œinherently goodā€, least of which are rich celebrities. That doesnā€™t mean that you canā€™t enjoy them. I enjoy Norm Macdonald, the IASIP cast, and a lot of other people without needing to make sure Iā€™m weighing their every sin and good deed on a scale, in order to keep enjoying them.
The difference is that these people constantly go to conventions and everybody besides J2 is pretty accessible. Misha in particular has gone out of his way to foster this environment where he knows the happenings in the fandom and recognizes fangirls, acknowledges them, responds to them on social media, sometimes meets up with them IRL, and has had things like Gish and his community phone number where heā€™s been even MORE accessible and uses terms of endearments with everybody. The last part feels especially suspect to me because it proves heā€™s speaking to an audience of fangirls (and people of whatever adjacent gender who are attracted to men, obviously, but weā€™ll still refer to them as fangirls for brevityā€™s sake and because I think calling them ā€œminionsā€ is stupid infighting shit that aligns me with J2ers).
Iā€™m speaking to people on here because tumblr is a historically horny and obsessive fandom space and people are joining this fandom all the time and they are only made aware of whatever the circle jerk tells them first. Not only does it foster a bad relationship with middle aged men that you donā€™t know, and if you did know then itā€™s because they met you as someone who is a fan of them, it also fosters a bad community environment. People end up having whole friendship networks that depend on unquestionable loyalty to these men, and a hierarchy is created based on who proves themselves to be more devout; in their determination to defend these men, defend the people that they surround themselves with, defend their beliefs, and their every action big OR small. From Misha supporting ICE, the Clintons, the predatory advice in the threesomeā€™s handbook, to the dumbest little things like how he made a Threads account and positioned it as a better alternative to Twitter. This fandom routinely cannibalizes itself and purges the whistleblowers out.
and I got triggered by that karla gif set the other day lol. SailorSally joined the fandom after November 5th and knows nothing but praise for the man, and while I didnā€™t send those anons to her I can sympathize with them. The cockles fandom can be the worst sometimes because they really push the narrative that heā€™s queer (and gay for jensen) because they think itā€™s a testament to his character and therefore it discredits a lot of the shit Iā€™m complaining about. Even if theyā€™re not tinhatters, then they think it positions Mishaā€™s virtues above Jensen, because I guess heā€™s supposed to be like a bullied gay kid who is still so loving and affectionate in the face of Jensenā€™s Toxic Masculinity and Homophobia, or something, despite Jensen having gay gossip rags and magazines profiling him as a closeted cutie for way longer with a lot more persistence. You understand j2m joked about hating/never missing each other for like ever, right? Iā€™m all for appreciating jenmish friendship, its truly special, but please tag your Jared hate appropriately so sensible people donā€™t have to see this toxic shit on their feed, thanks āœŒšŸ¼
Jensenā€™s literal words sweetheart, not mine. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
So if you want to take that as hate, well, then, you better take it up with the man who said it.

oh good ones ! šŸ„°
mine are:
Benny: I loved his and deans relationship/friendship šŸ„¹ as a j2m fan and destiel shipper I honestly thought Benny was better for dean than Cas was. I love cas he is my second fave characters but Benny never betrayed Dean. I am very protective over Dean. He is my baby ><
Charlie: again loved her and her friendship with the boys, especially how she got allow with Dean because they had so much in common.
Crowley: the same reason as yours tbh
Balthazar: because he was funny
my honorable mentions:
Jody
Gabriel
Garth
I wish we had gotten more time with Benny and Balthazar.
I agree with you about Benny being better for Dean than Cas, and thatā€™s not me talking as someone who isnā€™t a Misha fan. I feel like there was a real deep brotherhood vibe to their relationship. They relied on each other so heavily during their time in Purgatory. Their bond was so strong. Benny gave up everything for Dean to be able to go back to Purgatory to rescue Sam. Even though Sam wasnā€™t ever really nice to him.
Every time I rewatch I say to myself that I wish Balthazar had been around longer. Such a snarky angel.
I love Charlie so much because sheā€™s a nerdy IT girlā€¦and so am I.

P.S. I have no doubt that J2M are and in Misha's case, were, happy heterosexual family guys, who just are good friends. Sorry, that seems to annoy or conflict with some tin hatters, but I am also confused as to why an actor's sexuality seems to be up for debate? Like, they are all living their lives obviously as heterosexual family men. Why do fans think they have a right to probe and question this one way or another? Odd entitlement. Glad the guys ignore this and continue to maintain their friendships. I wouldn't have a problem if any were gay, but not sure how this is any fan's business?
I have no idea why fandom changed so dramatically in this regard. This is a relatively new thing in fandoms and, while it used to be shunned, now it's everywhere. I think it's a really strange shift in fandom culture. I'd love to read some academic essays exploring why this change happened.

Here are my two cents, that no one asked for, about j2m that no one asked for:-
1. J2M are friends, they have been for over a decade, they are practically family.
2. Whether Jensen and Jared's friendship is what it used to be or not, Jensen has the discretion and sole autonomy on how he interacts with to Jared's post.
3. Misha too. I've seen people saying he shouldn't have because the show is problematic and he is a politician/activist. I don't know I mean he was just happy his friend's show was renewed, he can like it. And as I said re Jensen, Misha has the sole discretion and autonomy to engage with whichever posts he wants.
3. Not everything is that deep. JenMish liking Jared's post about his show being renewed means they support their friend and are happy for him.
4. Also, can we not make comments about Cockles under their social media posts? No, the blue green hearts under FBBC posts, calling it Misha beer etc is not cute. Stop it! A true sheller would never disrespect them like that.
I personally haven't watched the show. However, I've seen interviews and reviews about how 'unprogresive' it is. All I can say is that neither Jensen nor Misha have said anything regarding the show itself. Just supporting their friend by liking posts about it's RENEWAL. So can we just stop being weird about it. We all have friends who do problematic things, we check them but if they don't do anything to change, that's on them.
One last thing, can people claiming to be fans stop trying to control Misha? Not everything he posts is about you. He's human. So is Jensen, it's sad that they always have to justify themselves whenever they do anything. I understand that they are public figures and celebrities, when they make mistakes, let them know but don't try to control what they do or whose posts they interact with.
No wonder they rarely post nowadays. We can never have nice things because of such madness.
