He panted as he sheaths his blade, feeling a bit disappointed. Several years before this would have been little more than a warm up. Either he'd gotten out of practice or the bandits near Kohonagakure were better trained than he was used to. All that mattered was that he had saved those children from seeing the monster he had been during the last great war. His vision may have been gone, but it forced him to create a newer sword style. He could smell and feel the blood on his clothes and skin. The entirety of his dragon tattoo shown on his left arm, something that he and his sister had gotten once graduating from the sword school.

"Hello there, are you here to collect your friends or to help a blind man?" He said as he looked over his should to the people coming closer. He may not have been able to see, but he could sense the taller figure flanked by two shorter ones. "Unless it's the two children who left to find help. If so, My apologies for the threat."

ㅤIt felt almost sacrilegious, to dare complain about such small things - in the face of everything that'd come crashing down mercilessly within the past couple of days. Every time Itachi allowed his eyes to close, even if for mere seconds, the image was imprinted on the back of his eyelids; the lifeless bodies of his parents on the ground, bloody and desecrated and piled up like pieces of meat after a slaughter. An analogy not that far from the truth, though said truth was for himself to know only. Should the clan ever learn about the real circumstances of the deaths of their leaders, and the so-called trap they'd fallen victim to, no doubt that would be the final straw to break the fragile semblance of peace the village had been resting on.

ㅤOne could only stay so long in bed, though, toss and turn and tangle up in the covers, before the comfort of mattress and cushions began feeling more like a cotton-soft prison. What was he going to achieve, by resting in bed? Maybe heal the spread of cuts and gashes a bit all over his body, the actually responsible part of his brain would answer, not to mention his broken right arm that would remain incapacitated for a few weeks. Problem was, the other part of the brain, the one that was burning to start resolving all the issues risen from his parents' disappearance, was smaller but much louder. And, by the gods, it did not shut up. Even with the threat of a civil war mildly accounted for, Danzo could not be allowed to remain unchecked; what if, one day, he woke up and decided the Hokage was unnecessary to the village and must be removed, as well? Worse, what if he decided to set his aim on Sasuke next, for whatever reason?

Then Danzo would have to die, plain and simple, and treason be damned.

ㅤDanzo was already going to die, one day, when properly presented to justice for his crimes. Not only what he'd done to Fugaku and Mikoto, but also that gruesome arm secretly implanted with Uchiha eyes too many to count. But that would require time, patience, cunning, and, most of all, a foolproof amount of hard evidence. Rolling over yet again, this time almost enough to toss himself down the bed for good [and already paying for it, because it immediately sent a pang of horrible pain shooting up his arm and ribs], Itachi sat up with a loud sigh of frustration. That wouldn't do at all. He couldn't sleep anyway, even if he was supposed to be resting, so what was the point? So he shuffled over to the edge of the bed, ready to get up- ...and that's the precise moment Izumi chose to enter the room. Because of course.

ㅤ«...Technically, I am still in bed.» Or on the bed, to be accurate, but hopefully she wouldn't be fussing over semantics. That was his job, anyway.

Another masterpiece completed. This one I am especially proud of.

Inspiration struck me early this morning, right after @deidara-anon woke me with his insufferable screeching. Apparently I am not allowed to have scorpions in our appartment...

Anyway...a recent muse of mine has crossed my mind, once I was able to find a moment of silence to work. The idea came to me then!

A new puppet. A new concept.

Delicate and small, difficult to hit, due to its agility. And - a perfect weapon. It shall be called "The purple Menace" and it will be equipped with my latest creation of poison. Deadly in more ways than one.

A piece of art! Ever fair and beautiful and never rotting. Eternal magnificence.

ㅤ«If I was one to keep faith and believe that any sort of heaven exists, I would say Izumi has guaranteed her spot there already simply on the basis of having grown up with myself and with Shisui. I can't imagine a more complicated karma for one to carry and yet she never once felt compelled to give up hope on our idiot selves.

ㅤHumor aside it is not humor at all I absolutely mean what I said, Izumi is someone I fiercely admire. She's kind and intelligent and compassionate, resourceful and creative and talented. She is also incredibly resilient, considering the grief she's gone through despite still being so young. The kind of flower that blooms in adversity. Speaking of flowers-

ㅤ...She is also gorgeous like one, I suppose. Which is something I never gave much thought to, yet that, for some reason, keeps appearing in my mind as of late. Abstract thoughts about the graceful lines and shapes of her face, how silky her hair is to the touch, the warmth her hands always seem to carry, literally and metaphorically speaking. And then- ...thoughts that are all too concrete, about holding her hand. And holding her in a hug. Having her near at all the time, if possible - doesn't even have to be for the sake of doing anything, just to enjoy her presence. And... maybe kiss her again. That would be enjoyable. ...If she wants it, of course.

ㅤThere is suddenly a lot to be figured out, in ways that I never expected but that I don't really feel the need to complain about. On the contrary. Thinking about these new possibilities feels both exciting and confusing, as though I accidentally hit myself with a genjutsu that slows down my brain and makes my heart beat all too fast. And I am very curious to find out where it will eventually lead.»

That was more disturbing than flattering, but he doesn't show it. Since when has he eaten dango with this stranger? It means this Stanger has been watching him and using him as the visage for their fantasies. Now if it was Izumi, that would be a different story. He would have been happy... though he would question her a little since he has yet to ha e the same fantasies about her. More what house and how many kids they will have.

"Who are you? I want a name. For the only people I have eaten dango with is Izumi and Shisui. I didn't blush while eating dango with them."
