UA! Teacher Izuku just being very enthusiastic about teaching the kids and being the very best role model that he forgets to eat sometimes so Kacchan has to prepare a bento that he stops by at UA to give it to him.

Just comes into the class screaming profanities, chucks the bento at Izuku's face, tells the snickering kids to mind their business or he'll bully their teacher into making the hardest test ever, kisses Izuku on the forehead aggressively infront everyone and jumps out the window blasting his way to work.

Aizawa just sighs and goes on with his work because lord forbid his problem children just never stopped being his problem.

man I think that the entire UA staff (pre-season 5) know that all might's mentoring midoriya, and all might doesn't know they know ...

because he's not particularly good at acting casual whenever something comes up about his successor ... like when gran torinos email came in for the internships

and aizawa picked up on his favoritism near the final exams, which is partially why all might was up against midoriya. and all might called him very observant for that... but he's really wasn't being that observant .

is he paying attention, all might? is he? or is your son just in your class and you're doing a shit job at pretending he's not ?

anyways I think anyone in UA would be able to figure out that

1) all mights favorite student is midoriya, and

2) all might's mentoring midoriya,,,

its so funny though that all might thinks its not super obvious. even TODOROKI noticed, and came to the (correct enough) conclusion that all might was midoriyas biological dad

anyways all might's dumb in a nice way and dadmight is the best father & son relationship in media and I will forever stand by that

"My assignment, sir," you say through a cheeky grin. Gently waving a sheet of paper before Midoriya as though tempting a cat to pounce.

The staffroom around you is silent and dusk creeps through the windows. If you focus your eyes, you can see stars peeking through the darkening sky. Realistically, you should head home soon if you have any hope of being conscious for teaching class tomorrow. But the concept of an early-night for either of you is far-fetched to begin with, you suppose.

Midoriya leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. You shift where you're perched on the edge of his desk as he considers you. He's surrounded by student assignments you know he's rushing to mark, each paper littered in red and green pen. But the chaos doesn't seem to bother him, and in all honesty, you can't remember the last time you saw the wood of his desk anyway.

"You missed the deadline," he replies dryly, arching an eyebrow.

Tipping your head down in faux remorse, you trace a fingertip on the corner of his desk.

"Perhaps you could make an exception," your finger shifts the papers slightly and you spy a bright green smiley face scrawled on the corner of an assignment. You barely smother the smile threatening your face. "Just this once?"

Midoriya hums lightly and you peek at him. Large black frames sit low on his nose bridge, and the pronounced curve of his jaw has your stomach already twisting itself into knots.

"Let me see." Midoriya holds out his hand expectantly and you pass over your paper.

"I worked extra hard on it," you lilt, watching how his eyes skim over your writing.

It's a stone-faced lie, of course—the paper is covered in haphazardly scribbled puns and shitty dad jokes you stole from reddit, seeing how you've spent the past twenty minutes procrastinating your own marking. The corner of his mouth twitches up as he reads through them.

"I'm not sure I can tell," he murmurs, eyes flicking up to meet yours briefly.

You feign confusion, leaning over to peer at the paper he's holding.

"Ah, silly me!" you gasp, shaking your head. "I must've given you the wrong paper."

Twisting on your perch, you glance around his desk and mindlessly shuffle various papers and stationary out of the way in your search.

"Hmm, where did I put it?"

You brace a hand on Midoriya's thigh, feeling the muscles twitch under your grip, and lean over to inspect under his desk.

"Maybe I dropped it..." you mutter, slowly rolling his chair away and sinking to your knees to get a better look. Midoriya inhales. "I was positive it was here somewhere."

Sitting back on your haunches after a moment, which is a precarious act in your heels, you stop your pretend search and glance up at him.

Midoriya's hands are still clutching the collection of your plagiarised jokes and he's just barely staring over the top of it like you've grown another head. His leg jerks instinctively when you touch his knees, teasingly sliding your hands up his thighs. Midoriya flushes, face contorting in alarm.

Fighting down a smile, you instead widen your eyes and pout, mentally psyching yourself up for the cheesy line you watched in a movie last night—the line that sparked this whole idea.

"Is there any other way I can make it up to you?"

So what was the purpose of all of those notebooks if not to foreshadow Izuku becoming a school teacher or some other form of educator/mentor?

I know we joke about Izuku becoming a fast food employee after he graduates, but seriously. What DOES his future look like?

My personal theory is teacher.

However, I can also see historian,a job within the HPSC, or author.

All Might: I only relied on my own body as a hero! (Immediately shown back in skeletal form while bleeding profusely.)

Despite All Might's dialogue criticizing support items here, the narrative contradicts All Might with the blood hacking gag here. All Might dialed back the criticism and left it at don't rely on support items too much. But he was still wrong here. On it's face, All Might relied on his suit to fight All for One in their final fight and Izuku later went on to be a hero with a mech suit.

All Might has a point that relying on one trick as a hero is a bad idea, but it's not exclusive to technology. When the heroes failed to save Bakugou from the sludge villain, they could only think about how no hero had the right quirk to fight him. They felt helpless because they each believed they only had one tool in front of them. The fact that the one tool considered was built into their DNA didn't make a difference in the end. The one who made the save that day was willing to use any tool after observing the situation rather than waiting for the supposed person with the "correct" tool.

Also...it's not discussed enough that All Might said this in the same arc Aoyama's disability was introduced. Aoyama's heroism (and even his normal daily life) is reliant on a support item.

Although izuku will definitely ask to train, randomly insisting on fighting is katsuki's thing. So when katsuki is woken up in the middle of the night to izuku demanding him to fight, katsuki already knows. The walk to the training ground is silent. They fight in the same mock street they used in first year.

Izuku uses the last of his embers playing hero with his best friend. It's a night that ends in tears.

A night that also ends in aizawa and all might coming to get them after a while, because they also just know. Coming back to the third year dorms everybody's awake and there's breakfast set out to pick at. There's more tears. It still hasn't been said yet. The entire third year heroic course skips the day, as class b joins later in the still early hours. (They take a extended weekend, the school has no grounds to punish them for this, they sent those kids to war after all.)

Those kids pile in the common room. With izuku in the center, katsuki on his left. Matching scars and matching fucked up hands and all. Towards the end of their break everyone's laughing between the tears. A few toasts have been made, and everyone's ready to change the future. It still hasn't been said.

Midoryia Izuku retires as a professional hero before graduating. His dream dies before ever really starting.

While on medical/mental health leave from physical training, he checks out the younger years. He offers tutoring after the school day, which always end in with hand-to-hand combat practice. Katsuki's already asked, all might and his mother question him at dinner one night, tenya and uraraka open up the conversation, he can't bring himself to answer. It hasn't been said.

What will he do now? What can he do, if he's not a hero like all might?

Midoryia Izuku still graduates at the top of the hero class. He helps all his classmates continue training, helps them set up agencies, tutors kids in quirk control back at UA.

His first official offer is a job with the new program of quirk acceptance, that helps little kids get a handle on dangerous abilities and gets everyone the help needed when facing discrimination.

The second offer is all might and nedzu insisting he take on a more permanent position as a homeroom teacher in the heroics department.

The third offer puts a professional title on everything he's done since childhood. He's the most sought after quirk analyst, often called in for opinions on team building or new villains.

He's busy. But it's better this way and better than any alternative.

The fourth and final life changing offer given to him, is in the form of the super suit katsuki gives him. He's taken on a few too many "sidekick" jobs, or analysis jobs, and honestly some house calls for kids with put of control quirks get messy. He's been back to being happy for a while.

But after his first shift? It's different, his eyes are lit up and bright. A smile that's not cracking. He's exhausted, but so ready to wake up and go again. This night? It ends with many UA alumni, piled into izuku's apartment in celebration of a dream coming back to life. Many more friends slipped in later to join the sleepover.

That next morning starts with aizawa, and all might, stumbling into an impromptu alumni reunion. To congratulate their lifelong student and colleague. Toasts are made with mixed match hero coffee cups, everybody's ready to go back to changing the future.

Rewatching some MHA, and knowing the ending- I love that Deku ends up as Kota’s teacher!

I just know Kota told Deku when he got his acceptance letter into UA, and despite Deku already knowing cause he was apart of the teacher panel, he was just so excited for Kota.

Kota then suggests- what if I end up in your class Mr Deku!

And Deku pleads with Nezu to let Kota be in his class. And the first day of school, Kota was ecstatic! That little boy who hated heroes and the UA student that saved him coming full circle.

I think Kota, and hearing he wanted to be a hero and be just like Deku, inspired Deku to choose teaching when Nezu propositioned him. He’s thought about a million and one ways Kota could use his quirk to help others. So finally getting him to be in his class and help him take the next steps to be great would just fill Deku with incredible pride.
