MHA characters in aus
YES! I HAVE MANY LINED UP, TAKE YOUR PICK! (It’s mostly Deku-centric… It’s all Deku-centric)
Dad For One AUs
Villain in Training: Izuku was raised by his father after his mother’s unfortunate death due to a hero. Since that day, Izuku’s grown to hate heroes, and his father is just thrilled. He introduces him to the world of villainy at the age of four, and at age five when Izuku doesn’t get his quirk, All For One let’s him pick out whichever quirk he desires
Vaulted: Izuku was kidnapped from Yuuei by All for One, but before he could fight back, he has his memories altered so he believes that he was taken away from his father by heroes after they accused him of being a villain. And now that Izuku is back in his doting father’s care, there’s nothing separating them ever again… Except maybe a two ton steel door, but that’s just to keep the heroes away from Izuku
Hell Hath No Fury Like a Father Scorned: Hisashi never left, and he’s glad he never did so, because he never would have seen the horrors those brats and that “teacher” inflicted on his son. Well, if they’re going to use their quirks in such a way, then he’d be doing society a favor by taking them. So the next week at school, every student and teacher at Aldera find that they are now quirkless and Izuku somehow developed a pyrokinesis quirk over the weekend. Sweet karma
Izuku Born with a Quirk AUs
Medusa Quirk: Izuku has snakes for hair, and when he looks into the eyes of someone while activating his quirk, he can paralyze them for up to ten minutes, but it really depends on how much energy he has.
Addams Quirks: Based on the hit gothic comedy from the pre-quirk era, Izuku’s quirk alters him mentally and physically, making him desensitized to all thing gruesome, making it so poisons don’t kill him, and making him much paler while his hair becomes darker. He seems to be able to teleport, has visions, and plants die around him. Izuku and Tokoyami have seances on Wednesdays
Isabella’s Gift: Always teased for his “girly” quirk, Izuku never let that stop him from trying out for Yuuei’s hero course. After one bad day thanks to some assholes who just wouldn’t leave him alone, Izuku snaps, yells, and a cactus spurts right in the middle of the floor. Cue “What Else Can I Do?” He practices the new aspect of his quirk over the course of the months; and by the time of the entrance exam, he create weapons made from vines and stabs the zero pointer by having a massive cactus grow from under it. Anyway, he’s in the hero course, and over the first few weeks, gives life long lasting flowers to those he sees as his friends based on their meanings and creates a blue and white rose for Shoto
Misc.
The Midoriyas and Yaoyorozu Have Money Fights on Saturdays- The Midoriyas are modest when it comes to their wealth. They live in the same apartment building as their many tenants, they shop for groceries at some of the stores they own, etc. Izuku and Momo have been friends since they were three and even after Izuku didn’t get his quirk. Screw that. Brains beat brawn any day. They go shopping, do each others hair, threaten Izuku’s bullies with their wealth, look fabulous while flipping off some quirkists, and take the recommended exam in designer gym clothes
Seamstress Izuku: Izuku is in the Support Course’s design department. He learned how to sew at the age of five from his mom when he didn’t get a quirk and needed an outlet for his pent up frustration. By the time he was six, he was sewing ball gowns and selling them for huge amounts of money, and was able to get him and his mom their own home. Now, every time he comes home from school, he doesn’t cry. He sews. He created an Instagram account to show off his work and cosplays as heroes and villains while critiquing hero informs and making them much more practical than they are and creating upgraded versions of their support gear. He gets a DM from Nezu one day, offering him a chance to try for Yuuei’s design department. Of course, he gets in and redesigns all the hero course students’ costumes, ‘cause they were trifling, especially Yaoyorozu’s and Hagakure’s. They all step into battles looking fashionable but also having functional clothing that doesn’t tear so easily and isn’t skintight on young girls’ bodies. He even redesigns Midnight’s outfit, using zippers instead of that tear-away fabric. And when he’s not designing new hero uniforms, he’s having the students (and teachers) model some dresses he made.
Izuku: Do you or do you not feel pretty?
Katsuki: *In a black ball gown* … I do feel pretty.
Izuku: Wonderful! Because you look pretty!
Izuku gets adopted by every Pro Hero- One day, Inko is late to pick up Izuku from school, and before his bullies could try anything, Death Arms swoops in and offers to walk Izuku home while reprimanding his bullies. Even when they explain that he’s quirkless, he shrugs and walks the greenette home. It happens again, only this time, it’s Miss Midnight. She takes him out for ice cream. Then Recovery Girl sees some assholes ganging up on him and strikes them with her cane, heals Izuku, but not them. While Izuku’s at the grocery store, some jackass who knows he’s quirkless harasses him until Best Jeanist steps in. He even buys Izuku’s groceries. Seeing their car broken down on the side of the road, Endeavor surprisingly gives them a ride home. And on the way, he receives a harsh lesson on parenting from the Midoriyas. Over the years, just about every Pro Hero has decided: I want to be Midoriya Izuku’s aunt/uncle/auncle. They go to the apartment in formal clothing, surprised to see the other pro heroes there and hand Inko the adoption papers. Now Izuku’s got like a hundred new family members who all share custody of him, but Inko gets more time because she’s the mom, of course
Izuku gets Adopted by Every Pro Hero, only Inko’s Dead: Twelve year old quirkless Midoriya Izuku receives terrible news: His mom is dead. No orphanage will take him in, he can’t get a job to pay rent, and he refuses to stay with the Bakugous. Things seem bleak until Pro Hero Recovery Girl hears about his dilemma while doing her rounds at the hospital, and he hears the boy saying goodbye to his mother. She heads back to Yuuei and explains Izuku’s situation, and immediately, every staff member wants to adopt him. Present Mic prints out the adoption papers and runs to the hospital while the others try to stop him. It becomes the custody battle of the century with dozens of pro heroes wanting to adopt a quirkless boy. They each state their reasons for wanting to do so until Izuku speaks up and suggests shared custody. The judge would’ve dismissed the idea of not for All Might threatening to Detroit Smash his ass into oblivion

Your Biggest Fan: Villian/Yandere Izuku
Tumblr media
You Ruined His Plan.
No one was supposed to CARE. They NEVER care. NEVER ask questions. They look, at the red shoes, the note, then shrug it all off. Just another statistic. One more gone, of an already "dying breed".
The Quirkless had been a "dying breed" for a while now.
He bet they didn't even know where that phase came from. It was WAR propaganda. Quirkless population numbers were supposed to level out a decade ago, according to estimates. But noooo! They kept DROPPING!
Dropping, Dropping, DROPPING!
Like notebooks and little boys off roof tops.
No Heroes coming to save them. Smiles for everyone ELSE. Just burns and bad grades they didn't earn, ruined lunches and funeral flowers on desks. Kicking and kicking and PUNCHS until they break! Until they fight back. Until THEY are the problem. THEY are the monsters!
Dreams destroyed and online friends who go silent.
Funerals. Mothers who cry but don't protect you.
ANGER and where are the HEROES?
Here... apparently.
She is... she is standing HERE. Arms crossed. Mouth in a furious line as she listens to the principal spew his excuses. She does not look like she believes a single one. Does not look sympathetic or dismissive in the least.
The disgusting trash around her isn't used to it. Are slowly beginning to sweat. Panic. It is beginning to dawn on them... that there could be CONSEQUENCES for their actions. Their criminal neglect and cruel allowances.
She looks disgusted. Furious. And... when she glances at the supposed last words of Hanako-chan? Utterly heartbroken. She stands, feet planted, shoulders back, as she argues and pulls rank. Threatening to ARREST even the police officers THEMSELVES unless they DO THEIR JOBS.
As is her RIGHT. Because this is not JUSTICE. Nor Vengance. But can bring, at least, closure to the soul of a little girl wronged. Prevent others from harm. And she stands as a shield against that harm. It is her JOB, her DUTY, and so help her, if she must hunt each and every one of them down and HAND DELIVER them to a cell? She WILL.
She stands there, in the cold afternoon light, like...
Like A Hero!
He has to slap both his hands over his mouth. To stop his dreadful muttering habit from escaping again. He... he hasn't found anything INTERESTING enough to mutter about in so LONG. Gotten out of the habit of controlling it. His control is shot. And... and OH~!
Ever since Kacc-... Since All Mi... THEM. He hasn't... hasn't BELIEVED in Heros like he used too. He WANTED too! He did! But...? It was like it just... died inside him. Slowly. Painfully. Screaming.
It HURT.
It hurt so, so much. Everything was angry and grey and TERRIBLE. B...But? But! BUT NOW? It's like a giddy spark of light has struck a match inside the empty cavern inside him, lighting up the massive caves where his belief once lived. I..It's so small and fragile. So WARM.
He scrambles back. Hands pressed to his mouth, eyes shut tight, uncaring of the rough brick he's pressed too as he slides to the wet ground. It scrapes him up. But what's a few more scrapes amongst the rest? He's always hurt. It's his life. It's ALL their lives.
He breathes. Savors the fragile warmth in his chest.
"Hey, are you okay?" That voice. No, no it can't be... his eyes shoot open. Startled he looks up. Directly... into... a.. mask.. "You're looking pretty banged up. My Quirk doesn't have many medical uses, so unless you think you've cracked a bone or something, I hope you're good with band-aids. Fair warning though. All the Froppy one's are already gone. Kid's LOVE frogs."
It IS. His Hero. THE Hero. She must have finished up. Noticed him somehow. Sloppy...
Ah!
Already kneeling, she gently takes his hand. Is already pulling out a medical kit from her thigh pouch. He spots "good job!" Stickers and a few lollipops. He... he has QUESTIONS. For the first time in YEARS. Who is she? What school did she go too? What Quirk does she have? Where does she work out off?
Why did she CARE?
Is it a one off? Would she care AGAIN? Her hands are firm but gentle. She keeps him "distracted". Asking him inane questions to take his mind off his pain. Kind. So KIND~! He manages to get her Hero name before she goes. Sends her off with a smile that hurts his face. Reminds him how many years it's BEEN since he's truely grinned.
He races home. Fingers flying on his phone. His lieutenant can deal with Hanako. Get her settled with her new family. He... he NEEDS too... TOO-!
He SLAMS his shoebox of an apartment open, ignoring the bellowed demands and insults of the filth that live around him. It's only muscle memory that has him locking the dozen locks behind him, to keep out the scum that would attempt to prey upon him.
He... he NEEDS-!
Where?!
There!!!
His "work" laptop. So bleeding edge I-island will be cursing their own bigotry for centuries. If only out of GREED. They don't know what they've lost by turning down those engineers and applicants. But Izuku does. He collects them ALL.
And now it pays off once again.
It take less then a moment. Easier then breathing. And he has EVERYTHING.
Her arrests records. Her case load. Her school records and medical files. Social media. Current audio book. Hero ranking, media presence, the chatter about Her online. EVERYTHING.
It's... it's beautiful.
A "troublemaker" who wouldn't shut up about the injustice she saw around her. Wouldn't stand for it. Got into fights to protect the weak and defenseless. Helped where she could. It put her on the wrong side of the narrative. When she wouldn't shut up about how everything WASN'T fine and what those in power were doing was WRONG.
She was a child, they were not. She HAD the option to shut up and pick her own future over the well being of those around her.
She chose to be a HERO instead.
Like... Like HIM. She was robbed of her DREAM. Of going to UA. The future she wanted, she fought for, needed like AIR.
But... but Aaah~♡ she was so COOL! Didn't give up! She sued. Made a RACKET. And when it got her record wiped but not her chance to enter any Japanese Hero school reinstated? She took the winnings from her lawsuit, her parents reluctant consent, and WENT ABROAD.
Came BACK with a hero license that the Japanese government had to recognize as per international accords. Let her take the final test HERE.
They BURIED her in the rankings. Must HATE her. A real hero, come to SHAME THEM for all they've become~♡ Or, well, HE thinks she will. How can she NOT? When she is so much BETTER?
He needs everything. Bedspread, pillows, posters, sweaters, slippers, MERCH! There's not enough. He should commission some. Where are his notebooks? Ah, no. He needs a NEW one! A better notebook! Oh! Oh! He could COMMISSION a notebook! Oh that's PERFECT!
He may have just met her today?
But he can already TELL~ He's gonna be her NUMBER 1 fan!

Gentry, I low key be shipping AFO and Kurogiri in Anyone. How much to make them canon? Or at least to imply they're a thing.
I... Well... I... Listen. While I will admit this would be one hell of an explanation as to why Kurogiri is taking AFO's side instead of Izuku's, Kurogiri is still one of the most responsible members of the group and while he has made a lot of bad decisions in his life (seriously, a lot of bad and dumb decisions), he has his limits.
Kurogiri is the man who has been AFO's taxi service AND bartender since he was 16. He saw all the petty and dumb things that motivated AFO to go from point 1 to point B quickly. He has heard AFO's unfiltered opinions on too many things, including his little brother. And that's before meeting Yami, because let's be serious, anyone getting with AFO also get Izuku in the deal, no matter how much Izuku disagrees with it.
Kurogiri simply doesn't have so little self worth and urge to self destruct to hook up with a yandere nuke who holds grudges like it's an Olympic sport and who will smother anything he loves until they die, unless said something has a quirk about as strong as AFO himself and is willing to murder him.

So.
New chapter dropped.
And it was filled to the brim with BKDK bullshit.
MAYBE a bit of All Might and Izuku bonding time, but Bakugou had to make sure that he gets to invade that too.
Who fucking cares how the rest of his classmates feel about Midoriya after seeing him save the day? Especially Iida, Todoroki and Ochako? Pfft, those three specifically are losers!
Or the pros and acknowledging Izuku as the world’s greatest hero?
Or the civilians that Izuku saved and giving him gratitude?
Or Inko, and the fact she indeed is seeing her son alive and well after going up against the greatest threat in existence?
Just make sure the Bakugou stans are pandered, spoiled and kept satisfied, because only they fucking matter at this point.
Fuck me, this series is complete shit now.

I finally finished my AU's Izuku ref sheet! Honestly, I'm actually kinda proud how his hero design turned out! Clearly a nod to All Smite's villain fit, kinda like how original Izuku's hero suit was based on All Might :]
Now I'm kinda wanna do a comic where everyone in class reacts to his hero suit (since it IS based on a well-known villain after all, they'd definitely be surprised)

36 for the word game, please!
36. — conditional
"You don't... want to eat my soul?" Izuku asked. Everything felt unreal, between the light around the demon and the floating sensation between Izuku and his body. Maybe it was just the bloodloss or oxygen deprivation. Maybe the demon wasn't even here. That'd be the better option, right?
"It would not be." The demon grumbled. "Young man, I'd have to be a very powerful demon to utilize souls in magic. I don't know if anyone but the demon king has ever managed it. As for eating humans... Well, yes, some demons would. But I don't."
Well, then Izuku's would-be murderers were going to be very disappointed.
"They just summoned a demon, guess there wasn't a way to phone ahead and check your interest. Sorry you got dragged into this too, then, you can leave right?" And then with no demon to fulfill their wish, Izuku's kidnappers would... Probably just kill him. He was dead anyway.
The demon's brows furrowed, his eyes shone sharp blue in black. "I could, but I don't want to leave you to your death. Nor do I want them to try again, with another summoning circle."
Oh. That was nice of him.
"Unfortunately, I can't really do anything yet until I accept or deny the contract. Until you are dead, or mine." The demon began to pace, yellow bangs swaying side to side. Izuku watched him, and didn't move from the circle painted on the ground. Moving sounded like it would hurt.
"Well, I guess..." The demon sighed, then turned back. "Ok, here's an offer: I adopt you as my son. That means accepting the contract, with another on top."
Izuku already had a dad. He thought about what his mom would say if he said yes, it would have broken her heart. But if he said no... Well she wouldn't exactly have been happy about this, either.
"As your son?"
"It would allow you safe passage to the Netherworld and would fulfill a condition of the contract."
"The Netherworld?"
"Where demons dwell. As I said, in this world... You're not long for it."
"What are the other conditions?"
"I'd need something from you. As this saves your life, you'd have to give up something too."
"My soul?"
"No, that'd be under my custody until you reach adulthood. You'd have to give up your surname."
"Oh, like, change my name on the family registry because I'd be adopted? Demons have family registries too?"
"Sorta... But no. I mean, give it up. You wouldn't ever remember your family's name here, and it'd be replaced with mine."
Oh.
It was his mom's surname.
"So if I don't agree, I die. And if I do, I forget my name and go to the Netherworld with you, and you are definitely only going to adopt me and not eat me because if you wanted to do that you already would have, I guess, and... What happens here? To make sure there isn't another summoning circle or they try to get even more people killed because it apparently works and-"
The demon waved a hand. "In accepting, I would also be sealing the deal with... them too, yes, but I can then make sure they are unable to do anymore harm with it."
"So, you wouldn't be giving them what they want?"
The demon snorted. "I'd be giving them what they think they want. And I can promise you this, they will regret it."
Izuku almost asked what it was. Almost asked what they wanted badly enough to kill him. But couldn't.
"All right. I agree."
"Really?" The demon sounded too surprised, considering he'd been trying to sell Izuku on this plan. Or, trying to get Izuku to sell on his plan?
"Yeah."
"Deal. Sign here." The demon snapped, and papers and and old pen hovered in front of Izuku. He couldn't read the paper.
He signed it anyway.

I have the sudden image of Izuku in the Snipe’s Little Cowgirl AU out on cousin Micheal’s farm. It’s after she’s come out as a girl and they’re in Canada for the family gathering that happens every two years. She’s wearing a pair of jeans that Snipe embroidered with little flowers cause he learned how to stitch from Big Mama who is big on that sort of thing. Her shirt is a cotton one she stole from Snipe earlier that day cause it has a cartoon cow on it and it’s cute.
They’re in the truck heading out with cousin Brandon, Big Mama, cousin Candice and Cousin Annie. Annie’s driving and the radio is playing country blasting away. Big Mama is in the cab of the truck while Snipe, Candice and the kids are in the bed of it, holding onto the sides with a big old golden retriever along side them. Snipe’s unmasked and he’s drinking a beer from Candice’s brewery that she made special for him. Snipe’s Shot it’s called. The kids are drinking fancy sodas that Candice made to. Candice is smoking as she cracks open the rear view window to listen to the music playing.
They’re heading out to the shooting range they set up on the property. Mostly cans and some targets. Sometimes they’ll go out and shoot gophers to, keep the holes down so the cows don’t trip. They’re the ones usually going out. Cousin Micheal doesn’t like guns after his daddy threatened him a few times with one. Cousin Jeff is a bit to young. The Gems are busy, while Cousin Steven is busy to. Cousin Mabel’s in town but she’s out harassing some idiot who decided to comment about the fact Snipe’s dating Mandalay back in Japan.
They get to the range and it’s one of the first times Izuku gets to shoot her own gun without support from Snipe. She lines it up nice and easy, the cowboy hat she stole from him on her head. She takes aim and BANG!
“Bullseye!” Cheers Big Mama, the woman laughing. “You’re gonna be as good as your pa, sugar!”
Snipe laughs and ruffles Izuku’s hair. It’s not long enough to be put into pigtails yet but it’s floppy and soft.
“Course she is! She’s my kid!”
Izuku beams up at them, a missing tooth in her smile.
It’s the best.

Me at 230 am: hm…… Nedzu.
#WHY AM I ON THIS MHA KICK#like ok it’s because I keep feeding the fixation sure#BUT HOW DID I GET TO THIS FIXATION IN THE FIRST PLACE?#next thing you know I’m gonna bring back Sirin au#hm. it genuinely has some of my favorite writing I’ve ever done#unfortunately mha fics that aren’t established get like zero engagement because there’s a constant stream of them#it’s not like rain world where each new fic is awaited with bated breath#I think to this day it’s my longest fic. 15-16 whole chapters. I lost the plot for a while in there lol#I miss having semi popular fics that got attention#like. my rain world fic gets a good 5-7 comments plus any replies to my replies to them#if I actually. kept up with king and lionheart. it would probably get around that too#but ohhhh to be a popular mha writer…#I could probably glimpse that life if I dipped back into owl house stuff but you don’t get it.#that’s not my fixation right now. mha is.#WHICH IS WILD BECAUSE I LEGIT DONT LIKE MOST OF THE STUFF I KNOW ABOUT ANYTHING AFTER SEASON FOUR#It got too high stakes and lost the interesting analysis of its own society#and don’t get me started on what I’ve heard about the ending. it sounds like it was really fumbled#but. I’m doing a rewatch. I’ll give everything after season four a chance but I fully plan to drop it if I get bored again#what was I talking about?#right right. my fics and stuff#I might take some of my favorite bits of all but gone and rework it#I might write a Nezu adopting izuku fic#who knows. it’s 245 at night#good night

Prompt starters: Late Quirk Manifestation
He for sure aced the written exam, but this is the true test to get into UA. His hands are clammy, chest swirling with anxiety. He’s not gonna get one point for sure- he knows it. He thinks back to what All Might said to him, made his decison to prove him wrong, but that burning stubborness is waning away, causing Izuku to falter.
The exam starts— Izuku has to try, he has to! Otherwise what would have been the point of applying at all. Bots are being destroyed left and right, buildings being turned to rubble. Izuku stumbles out of the way of yet another fallen bot, jarred by the chaos of the exam. It’s all happening so quickly and he sees it, looming in the distance— the zero pointer, bulldozing everything in its path. Other examinees are bumping past him in their scramble to run, even Ingenium’s brother is running, as fast as his jets can carry him. Trapped under fallenrubble, under the shadow of the zero pointer, is the girl he tried to talk to earlier, struggling to pull herself out. She’ll die if he runs, but he has to try.
Izuku sprints, tripping over potholes as fast as he can, adrenaline coursing through him. The zero pointer is surprisingly slow, but he still doesn’t have a lot of time. Izuku assesses the damage of the girl, trying to tamp his panic.
“What are you doing? Run!” The girl screams.
Izuku braces his legs as he starts digging her leg out from under the rubble, pushing aside boulders, straning every muscle in his body.
“Use your quirk!” The girl says, her voice pitchy from panic.
“I don’t have one, I’m sorry!” Despair creeps into his chest, face growing hot, his stomach whirling, his chest burning with both embarrassment at his weakness and at his lack of a quirk. Yet, he’s halfway through digging her out, and soon he’s slinging her over his shoulder, ready to run. He wishes he were faster, wishes he were powerful enough to stop the zero-pointer all together. He can see it’s giant foot coming down on them and Izuku lets out his own scream, all of the heat in his chest and face bursting out. In one moment the foot is above and close, in another the foot is crashing down around them. Izuku sways, panting hard, molten metal glowing hot around them. Someone blasted a hole through the robot’s foot.
“I thought you said you didn’t have a quirk!” The girl says in his ear. The robot foot lifts, clearly not deterred by the hole in its foot. Izuku is dazed, confused by the hole.
“I… I don’t.”
“That was you!” The girl shouts, “do it again! Scream again!”
Scream again— his throat is raw and and uncomfortably warm, his mouth dry, smoke streaming out of his open mouth.
He has a quirk. How?! Why now?! No time! Izuku sucks in another breath, trying not to cough on his own smoke, he screams at the sky again, as loud as he possibly can and his eyes are blinded by the jet of light and heat. When he stops screaming, the robot under parts are melted, glowing gold-scarlet. It whirs, slowing to a clumsy stop.
He lets out a little raspy whimper, smoke streaming from his nose and mouth, he inhales shakily, holds it, jumps when a bloom of fire billows out in return. His hands snap over his mouth in shock. He’s holding his breath again and when he exhales, smoke is seeping out from his fingers. When he pulls his hands away he finds the flame he made floating in his palm, crackling cheerfully.
He made fire. With his mouth.
“Wow!” The girl says, “that’s an amazing quirk! Why did you say that you didn’t have a quirk? I don’t get it.”
“I don’t have a quirk. Or. At least I didn’t, until now.” Izuku clenches his hands, puts out the flames. He tries to do more breathing excersises, but everytime he holds his breath and exhales a bloom of fire roars right out.
It’s exactly like he dreamed of as a kid. Izuku is distracted as he breathes out again, capturing the flame in his hand.
They hobble out from underneath the stopped zero pointer, rising from the smoke and rubble. The other examinees are gasping in shock as they appear and Izuku helps the girl sit.
“That was amazing!” One of the examinees yelps, a boy with bright yellow hair, and a shock of black walks right up to him, “I’m Denki! What’s your name?”
Izuku jerks out of daze, trying to breathe evenly in order not to spit more fire.
“Izuku. Izuku Midoriya.” Izuku says breathlessly.
“That’s such an incredible quirk— enough power to melt steel!”
“I’m quirkless.” Izuku says despondently and Denki raises his eyebrow, “I’m supposed to be quirkless.”
“There’s no reason to be humble now.” Denki says with a grin, “you did great! You even rescued somebody!”
Recovery Girl is handing them healing candies and Izuku chews on them thoughtfully as Denki sings his praises.
“But I’m not being humble.” Izuku says to Denki, “I never had a quirk. I really am quirkless.”
Denki stares at him for a second, clearly not believing him, but the girl speaks up.
“He told me he was quirkless too when he was rescuing me!” The girl says, “he wasn’t using his quirk at all.”
“Well if his quirk can do that, I doubt it would have helped.”
“I didn’t score a single point.” Izuku says, “if I always had a quirk, then I would have scored some points.”
Denki is thoughtful, “y’know? I didn’t think about it, there isn’t any other melted robots. Just the zero pointer.” Then he splutters, his face crumpling into a baffled expression, “that’s not how quirks work! If you’re quirkless then you don’t just… get a quirk randomly.” He deflates, “that only happened like, a long long time ago.”
“I don’t know how I got it either.” Izuku says. He tries puffing air onto his hands, the flame floating in his palms. He tries tossing the flame, and it leaps out of his hand before dissipating into the air.
It should be everything he ever dreamed of, everything his young child heart imagined and wanted. He holds his breath again, breathes another stream of fire onto his palm. It’s a shame that it happened now, at the wrong time, when he needed to be running.
Kacchan’s gonna be pissed.
When he gets home, mom is already asking how things went.
“I bombed it. I definitely flunked.” Izuku says miserably, dumping himself onto the couch.
“Oh, Izuku.” Mom says, “you gave it your all, and that’s what matters.”
She gives him a tight hug, kissing his hair.
“What’s worse.” He continues, “is that my quirk manifested.”
Inko tears away in shock, eyes wide, mouth agape, “you’re joking.”
“I’m not.” Izuku says, “it came at the wrong time and everything.”
He puffs a breath into his hand, showing her the flame that dances in his palm. Inko gasps, eyes growing even wider than he’s ever saw them grow.
“It’s Hisashi’s quirk.” Inko breathes.
“Not just Dad’s.” He tosses the flame from hand to hand, watching the ball float crackle.
“The doctor was wrong.” Inko whispers, tears already streaming down her cheeks, “the doctor was wrong!”
She’s engulfing him into a tight hug, nearly choking the life out of him. He coughs and a flame catches onto her cardigan. She yelps, shrugging it off and stamping out the flame with her foot.
“Sorry!” Izuku squeaks, “I still don’t know how to control it!”
“Oh baby, I don’t care! I’m so so proud of you!”
“I already flunked the physical exam.” Izuku says with a pout and the realization burns into his face, making tears rise in his eyes. At least he knew without a doubt he wouldn’t be a hero while quirkless, but now? Izuku plays with the newest flame in his hand, entranced by its light, he can’t help but feel a little bitter.
Izuku already made the choice to try to hide his quirk from Kacchan, and it’s proving difficult to do. He starts learning to even out his breathing, trying to stay calm so he doesn’t breathe fire. He’s writing all of the traits of his quirk like he was outside of his body, testing its limits, testing ways he could hide it. He found that one way was through drinking water. If he drank enough water he can tamp the flame before it comes out. He finds that the same can be said with his hands. The flame won’t transfer well if his hands were wet.
Mom’s hand is shaking as she clenches onto the envelope, holding it out to him. Izuku’s heart is thundeing his chest, and smoke is wafting out of his nose. He sucks down water, little puffs of steam coming out of his mouth instead.
He opens the letter, and he sees All Might presenting the ranking and the scoring of the exam. He can’t help but feel a bit dejected at the sight of his idol. Yet, All Might cheerfully announces Izuku’s acceptance into the Hero Course.
His spirits lift, and Mom treats him to his favorite dinner, her excitement for him infectious. He’s going to become a hero— it was finally possible.
The friends he makes in Class 1-A are confused as to why he still responds with Quirkless when they ask him about his quirk. To him it’s simpler than saying that it randomly manifested itself ten years way too late.
Kacchan is still ornery at him anyway, shouting at the sight of him. It takes all of Izuku’s power not to accidentally puff out a gasp of fire when Katsuki blasts his desk.
Izuku continues to test the limits of his quirk, holding his breath for longer and longer, realizing a scream can create a flamethrower like stream of fire. The longer and harder he holds his breath, the more powerful his fire-breath. He may have accidentally passed out from holding his breath too long, combined with the flame eating up the oxygen around him.

Shouta Aizawa finds Izuku Midoriya to be an enigma. The first quirkless student in the Hero Course. At least, the first labeled quirkless student. The footage doesn’t lie. Izuku Midoriya does in fact, have a quirk. Yet his file lists him as quirkless.
The boy is diligent enough, a good enough student. Rescuing the girl at the exam is honorable enough, he has the potential for heroism, even without a quirk. Yet, how did the quirk registry fail this badly?
And why isn’t the boy using his quirk now? His throw is pitiful, brow furrowed in frustration.
“Midoriya. It shouldn't be this hard to use your quirk.”
Midoriya’s frown deepens, lips pressed into a thin line.
“I just need a little time to think.” Midoriya says, “I was quirkless before.”
Aizawa raises his eyebrow. It makes no sense. Yet there the boy stands, looking puzzled at the ball in his hand.
“We’d like a third throw Today, Midoriya.” Shouta drawls, a tic of annoyance sparking in his brain. Midoriya goes red, then he wedges the ball into his mouth, takes a deep breath and screams.
A brilliant arc of fire roars out and launches the ball into the air, far, far into the field. Ochako and Kaminari cheer for him, even Tenya is congratulating him, giving him a pat on the back.
“WHAT?” Bakugou is barking, livid and he’s about to lunge for Midoriya hands sparking. Aizawa lets erasure flare to life and the sparks fizzle out quickly. Bakugou looks at his hand, puzzled, and whirls to Aizawa in rage.
“I’m not going to stand for that kind of behavior, Mr. Bakugou.”
Bakugou sucks his teeth, yet still rears onto Izuku like his quirk wasn’t canceled.
“Little shit! You’ve been hiding your quirk this whole time!”
“No I haven’t!” Midoriya says back, “I am quirkless! was quirkless!”
“You think you’re better than me!” Bakugou seethes, “you’re a fucking liar!”
“I do not!” Midoriya yelps and Aizawa spots the puff of smoke streaming out of his mouth, “I didn’t lie!”
The more Midoriya’s voice rises the more smoke streams from his mouth. Shouta lets erasure flare to life again and the smoke dissipates as Midoriya continues to argue with Bakugou.
“I swear, Kacchan, I wouldn’t have hidden a quirk like this from you!” Midoriya touches his mouth, surprised at the lack of fire and smoke. He turns to look at Shouta, and Shouta can swear he can see relief etched onto his face.

Kacchan and Iida are being paired as villains in this training exercise and Izuku knows that he’s not just adjusting to his role.
Katsuki clearly wants to kill him. Izuku wouldn’t be able to take a magnified version of Bakugou’s explosions, Izuku is panicked, he’s torn his throat raw screaming, trying to blast fire in Katsuki’s direction, but the distance is too short, even though the heat melts some of the rubble around them.
Katsuki’s grenade is directly in Izuku’s face— and Izuku throws his hands up to fruitlessly block the oncoming blast, the force of the blast flings Izuku back but there isn’t burning or singed hair or skin. Instead, Izuku is holding Bakugou’s fireball in hand, the flame popping and smoking, morphing into a proper flame. Katsuki’s mouth drops open in surprise, skittering to a stop, Izuku looks at the fireball in his hand and throws it hard at Katsuki. The fireball pops— explodes right in Katsuki’s face and Izuku takes the time to wrap his capture weapon around him. A win— sort of.
“Whoa cool!” Tsu says, “Gave Bakugou a taste of his own medicine!”
Katsuki hisses, ready to snap at her in irritation.
“You knew that would happen wouldn’t it, nerd?” Katsuki’s voice is deadly, low and growly. Izuku gulps, shakes his head.
“I didn’t think I could handle other people’s fire.” Izuku says, “Just my own.”
“That’s a cool move though!” Tsu observes, “you keep saying that you were quirkless Midoriya, so it makes sense that you wouldn’t discover that feature until it manifested.”
Izuku can feel Katsuki’s scrutinizing gaze on his back.

Hi hello yes. I don't typically post mha related stuff but this post possessed me to do a thing:
Tumblr media
That moment when your son, who you had with the seventh user of your younger brother's quirk's daughter out of spite, gets adopted by the eighth user of said quirk, who's surrogate mother was the seventh, making her the grandmother of your child, and then proceeds to make your son the ninth user of your long dead younger brother's quirk. You also took in and manipulated seventh's other grandson to become the next you, but you are mortal enemies with whoever currently holds your brother's quirk, so you've accidentally made seventh's two grandsons, meaning they're cousins, mortal enemies too.
In conclusion: All For One, WHAT THE FUCK
The dad-for-one theory is ESPECIALLY fun if you pair it with the theory that Inko is Nana Shimura’s daughter.
Like “I’m gonna do everything in my infinite power to destroy the life of your son, I’m gonna take your grandson under my wing and use him for my own nefarious purposes, and I’m gonna fuck your daughter.”
