My incredible yoga & culture experience of Peru concluded in Lima. A walk from the middle of town in Mira Flores had me face to face with this Red Cupid Statue, aiming his bow towards the “El Parque Del Amor” Love Park! Inside the park stands the massive “El Beso” statue, two lovers laying & embracing in the most tender kiss. All through the park are curved, mosaic walls/benches full of lovers names, love promises & quotes. So cool & colorful! Of course I had to have a crepe at the “Beso Francis Creperia”, Nutella & Banana hit the spot for sure! Delicious! A love park wouldn’t be complete with some “love locks”, with each key being thrown into the ocean for safe keeping! I also had the meal experience OF MY LIFE while staying in Lima. Kjolle, the sister restaurant to Central is an absolute MUST if you can get yourself a reservation. 9 courses of exquisite dining, paired with 9 perfect wines. The “experience” lasts a full 4 hours!! My taste buds didn’t know what had hit them! The flavors, colors, textures & smells. And the service was impeccable! Seriously, treat yourself to this, I’m so happy I did! If you’re headed to Lima, a Pisco Sour is an absolute must! Although made from fermented grape, it tastes like a super strong margarita! Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m a bit of a “lightweight “ concerning alcohol so I don’t think I ever actually finished one of these super yummy drinks.... I did try really hard!! And then my dream came true (I’m a simple girl, what can I say!), floating in an infinity pool, 12 floors up, overlooking the ocean as the sun set. Machu Picchu is everything you’ve heard it to be. An incredible place bursting at the seems with energy & stories it could tell you if you made the time to listen. I was overwhelmed with joy, ecstasy, love, gratitude, and I’m not entirely sure what else, but for a few minutes I cried. I bawled like a baby as I sat in a prayer circle with my group. Tears rolled down my face, my shoulders shook, and I belly cried, feeling so connected to the ground below me and everyone that had come into contact with that space before me. For a few moments I allowed myself to DO nothing and FEEL everything. ... and then I climbed to the top! It is a mysterious, magical and extremely majestic place indeed. If you’ve been thinking about visiting, do it! Go! Stop thinking & act on that thought! Don’t allow this adventure to pass you by! Full of nothing but love, peace & gratitude after Peru! We were so fortunate to have so many ceremonies & healings from so many truly wonderful people! My first ever Despacho Ceremony from a Shaman (how cute and colorful is he!). A 2 hour Ceremony, building & creating the beautiful offering to Pachamama, then one by one, giving each of us a blessing, then as a group, and then ending with the burning of the offering into the fire. My first ever Temezcal Ceremony, and boy was it tough! The 8 of us thought it was going to be a 2 1/2 hr ceremony, but it turned out to be 4 1/2 hrs! - we must have had a lot to sweat out! It is pitch black in there & as hot as hell! It has 4 times or "doors" (where you sing out loud, shake your rattle, speak, tell truths & pray) these represent the 4 elements, the 4 directions, the 4 stages of life... and let me tell you, dying was easy but rebirth hurt like hell (we were literally begging for mercy!!). An incredible experience! We also received an amazing 90 minute Sound Healing from Jimbo & Mares, which included crystal sound bowls, tuning forks, gongs, chimes, flutes, an awesome didgeridoo & so much more! The vibrations from the sounds were fantastic! During the retreat we also participated in multiple prayer circles at the many beautiful archeological sites we visited, including Moray, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu & Cusco. I am full of love & wonder, and I am simply in ore of the wonderful people of Peru! Organized through International Yoga, our yoga retreat began with 6 nights at the gorgeous Sach’a Munay in The Sacred Valley, Peru. Pictured is the magnificent yoga temple where we gathered twice daily, guided by the light of @shaktibuddha. My darling accommodation where @reneepulve_life and I shared a charming room (you are the best roomie Renee!!). The exquisite grounds of Sach’a Munay, which is as pretty as a picture. Abundant with flowers & trees, a natural waterfall & stream, ample hammocks and benches, as well as quiet nooks & crannies to sit peacefully, and just take it all in. Our dining space where we feasted on the most delicious & locally grown organic foods, that were so rich in color & flavor, prepared for us by the sweetest, most beautiful of hosts. Since arriving here, our hearts are full. Full of life. Full of love. Full of peace. Full of happiness. Full of gratitude.
