Hmmmm
So I guess I've been thinking about fertility a lot lately. I've been thinking about my health a lot--of course, even before I spent two weeks laid out on the couch, exhausted and coughing up colors I've never coughed up before.
While I've just been laying here thinking about how my apartment is going to hell, I've also been thinking about how critical it's going to be to get even more serious about trying to eat better and exercise even more.
I was actually just watching a video about a young woman living with her husband--so young!--in Hong Kong, going through IVF. Seriously, at an estimate, if I'd been that serious at her age........... well..........I still wouldn't have had insurance of any sort. But it would've given me more time to think about how to address my diet and lifestyle.
For me, I guess I don't get too upset about my health, let alone my fertility. There only seems to be one thing seriously preventing me from starting my family, and losing weight can't be that hard--more exercise, better food. It's my problem if getting my blood pressure under control takes two years............ most likely? But for me, my doctor's see nothing wrong with my reproductive system--I don't have cysts, I have a very average uterus, very average ovaries. I'm just not producing regular, normal hormones. I'm just a pill away from artificially switching all that back on and most likely, getting where I want to be reproductively. It would be so easy. It would fuck up my blood pressure. So. Bad.
But what about these last two weeks?
I don't fucking know what I was sick with--I went down the stairs today to help my partner with garbage and that was it from me today. I was still having trouble just functioning around the apartment, with dishes and such. I'm utterly trashed. I've never gotten sick casually. It somehow always becomes a respiratory thing. Cold? Respiratory. Flu? Respiratory. Strep? Respiratory.
I meant to do some more ink today. I feel like I'm running up short on lineworks...... But I never seem to have much to work with. I always have to plan for really hot weather or I have to plan for a migraine--I've been fending one off since Friday, since I just didn't have the energy. It resulted in two evenings of this new disturbance that I get, zigzags around my pupil.
I was thinking about that all these last two weeks. I never seem to have much energy, everything comes back to a respiratory infection. As a person without much energy, I feel like I'm always storing energy for when I'll really, urgently need it--how long am I going to need to recover from this?
I ate basically nothing for two weeks; I still can't eat a whole lot and I'll probably be on that for a while. My weight is still going to skyrocket.............🙄
What is it really actually going to take to lose weight and get my blood pressure down? I'd almost rather have a "real" fertility concern.........
I don't feel discouraged right now, about my fertility. I have bigger issues to work on if I want to have a reasonably healthy pregnancy. I'm terrified of having to pull the plug because pregnancy is going to kill me. I'd rather have one healthy, successful pregnancy when I'm 35+ than two hard, scary pregnancies by the time I'm 35. In that regard, it is kind of hard because it feels like my heart health is all on me..........I don't know how much better I can reasonably eat. So we throw out the crackers and I eat even more vegetables. I don't realistically know how many salads I can imagine up. If we eliminate any more fast food...... well, 🤷♀️ we had a short burst there where we were eating so much, it felt like a chore, and I've honestly been asking to eat even more meals from home so.
We just...........I mean, I would say soda is really the devil in our kitchen. Yes, I eat proportionally lot of crackers--they're quick, easy, they don't upset my stomach. We don't eat a ton of frozen pizza, fish sticks--we love fish, or I do. I bake up fish all the time. For me, manufactured cookies just sit around, they're gross. We eat a lot of chicken. We could always use more veggies........ But yeah, without question, our soda is out of control. Although, I've swapped my sugary soda for water (except recently?? I let my partner do the grocery shopping and he left out my water???? 😭).
My own thing used to be candy, but I have a brand new bag of jelly beans from last year because I'm still struggling to get through this bag of chocolate. I really (usually) enjoy the fruit bowls from the grocery store.
I think my diet is....... reasonable. It's modern as in "I grew up eating out of food pantries and neither of my parents knew how to cook and I'm used to eating out of Aldi with five to twenty dollars for a week". A lot of chicken, there used to be more rice. We don't eat much burgers....... if the doctor is saying cut down on potatoes........... that can be done........... I think.......
Pfffft it's not like I fucking know how to eat anyway......... i GuEsS I'Ll fUcKiNG STarVe lol
It's really fine. I need to figure this the fuck out. I will fucking figure this out. I want to be a parent because I believe I can be a good role model. I want to be a better person and a better parent. I really ought to start with what goes in my own body.

[Video] Hong Kong Riot: Cop neutralized by Kung Fu kick Since 1997, when it ceased to be the last major colonial holding of Great Britain, Hong Kong has been a part of the People’s Republic of China, while maintaining a distinct political and legal system. In February 2019, an unpopular bill was introduced that would make it possible to extradite fugitives in Hong Kong to countries that the Hong Kong government has no existing extradition agreements with—including mainland China. On June 9, 2019 over a million people took the streets in protest; on June 12, protesters engaged in pitched confrontations with police; on June 16, two million people participated in one of the biggest marches in the city’s history. Since then and up to now Hong Kong has been rocked by massive protests, riots and strikes, as well as, terrible cases of police brutality crimes and attacks with knives and iron bars by pro-government gangs. On September 4, the chief executive announced the withdrawal process of the extradition bill—a process that will begin after the end of Parliamentary Recess in October. Yet the movement continues insisting that the government must grant all demands. The above footage has been recorded in early October 2019 from inside a bus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVF-XljfAlk

Years ago, back in the times before Bioleninism and all that, I made a name for myself in the intellectual parts of the right-wing blogosphere (≈neoreaction) in a large part because I was the best at categorizing the different strands of dissident thought. Back then I said there was by and large three different factions, the religious, the nationalist and the technological, what then Nick Land rebranded as the trichotomy of theonomist, ethno-nationalist and techno-commercialist.
That was 2013 though, and a lot has happened since. Most of it bad. Some good things too: Russia grew a spine, annexed Crimea and kicked USG out of Syria. China grew two spines, destroyed their liberal fifth-column, is forcibly assimilating their native muslims and is fast approaching military parity with USG.
And yes, Trump happened. That was fun. It unleashed a renaissance of right-wing memery. But Trump also failed to get anything done, he’s likely to lose the next election, and now not even the memes are safe, as the CIA has co-opted 4chan talent for export, as seen in Pepe frogs in Hong Kong and Joker thots in Lebanon. Not cool.
…
Yes, I’m a demographic pessimist. I see the above figures and see how the Western world is slowly becoming Brazil, half white, half black. But Brazil itself is not stable; white people are having less babies than black people there. Brazil is slowly becoming something like South Africa, 10% white, 90% black. But again, South Africa is not stable itself, is it? Birth rates are different, and if that didn’t suffice, blacks there are outright murdering white people and chasing them off the land. The actual endgame is actually worse than South Africa, which still has (people tell me) some very fine spots, such as Cape Town.
The end game is Haiti. 100% black, and arguably the nastiest, poorest, worst shithole on the face of earth. That’s what we’re facing if demographic trends keep worsening as they are.
“Oh come on”, you may say. It’s never going to get that bad. At some point demographic trends self-correct, right? Evolution will run its course. Leftists aren’t having children, eventually the differential fertility of conservative people will make sure everyone is based and redpilled.
If I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard that, I’d be the pope. Yes, Catholics love this argument. Christians, more widely. They have sacrificed a lot to have children and stable families in this society which does everything it can to promote unhappiness and dysfunctional lifestyles. If there is a God, surely at least their sacrifices will win them the future of the species? History will talk about them as ancestors of the next stage of humanity. Right??
Wrong. I’m sorry guys, but evolution doesn’t work like that. Yes, sure, evolution is about differential reproduction. Whatever genes make you have more babies in a given environment, spread in the genepool. And whatever genes do the opposite, make it marginally harder for you to reproduce, disappear from the genepool. So yes, on the face of it, “genes that make you want children” are by definition being promoted by natural selection. The argument, as explained by promoters such as Anatoly Karlin, is that humans until now have been fruitful and multiplied perfectly well through a basic motivation: seeking sexual pleasure. But that motivation doesn’t work anymore in an environment with easy contraception, so the future belongs to people with psychological traits that make them enjoy family life.
Does it work like that, though? Are there any genes that “make you want children”? Does the brain work like that? The human brain is complicated, you see, but it is also an evolution of the more basic mammal brain, and its circuitry must follow roughly the same pathways. And last time I checked all mammals reproduce exactly the same way. The male produce quadrillions of sperm every minute, and are at the hunt of every ovulating female. The moment they find one they jump onto her, copulate semi-forcibly, and babies ensue. Yeah, this pretty much includes humans.
The idea that humans are going to single-handedly evolve, over single-digit generations, a completely different pattern of reproduction to replace one which has been functional for 60 million years strikes me as pretty wild wishful thinking.
…
Supposedly though, at some point of impoverishment, the downward drift of average IQ would stop, as intelligence would begin to pay again. Without welfare and Bioleninist political machines with an incentive to bring ever stupider people into a country in order to lower the cost of clientelism, at some point the drift into Global Haiti ceases to function, and you get some sort of stable equilibrium of, say, 90-95 IQ people. Living in more or less permanent starvation wages and some sort of low-level medieval warfare.
Quite depressing, huh? Well remember, that’s a best-case scenario. That’s what happens if that Conservatives-inherit-the-earth mantra actually succeeds. Remember the trichotomy I mentioned at the beginning? Well the above scenario is what theonomists are for. They won’t say it, they probably never thought it through that much. But that’s undoubtedly what a Theonomist Revolution against progressivism would entail.
…
But again, I just don’t see it. The Kuwaitis aren’t very smart; their birth rate is in 1.6. The Arabs across Europe aren’t replacing themselves. The Mexicans in the US are also below replacement! Even if, and this is a big if, there was some easily assemblable collection of genes by which people would love having children far above their love for playing status games in a modern society with Tinder and cheap contraception, odds are by the time those genes have starting to spread, in a few generations time, 90% of humanity is already African. And so, again, Global Haiti.
…
So that’s it? Either Global Haiti or Global Mexico?
Well not quite. Tech-comms have something to say too. Humans aren’t all dumb, not yet. What if there’s a technological way out of the demographic crisis? Well, there kinda is. And it’s a year old actually. Has everyone forgot about He Jiankui?
…
Genetic sequencing is advancing fast these years. Perhaps the only thing which is still progressing fast after computing’s Moore’s Law stopped working 10 years ago. We already know dozens of genes involved in increasing IQ, and we’ll sure know of hundreds, maybe thousands. It seems likely that within our lifetimes we’ll have the capability of safely increasing the IQ of IVF embryos by 10-20 points. Would you take that? Perhaps not. Would that Chinese Tiger Mom-in-becoming living across the street take the chance? Of course she will. Do you want your own kids to be the dumbest at class? I thought so.
The bottleneck here would be IVF, which is still a rather slow and ineffective process, although perhaps with some room for improvement. That bottleneck could be solved, though, with a technology which is still quite far away. Strangely so, given the obvious incentives to develop it in what is effectively a feminist world. Ectogenesis, i.e. artificial wombs. Don’t women complain about how unfair it is they get pregnant and lose all that time to build their careers, while men only bust a nut and keep climbing that dear corporate ladder? Fear no more, ladies. Just put your eggs in this machine, and 9 months later you’ll get your baby delivered to your home. Free delivery if you sign up for Amazon Prime.
If this is sounds like Brave New World, well yes, that’s pretty much what that was about. Aldous Huxley came from a long line of distinguished biologists and couldn’t see things like TV and computers coming. Eventually he got into drugs, but I’m sure he died still puzzled by why ectogenesis didn’t become a thing during his lifetime. It stands to reason that eventually it will. And once artificial wombs are reliable and affordable, in a world with CRISPR, you don’t really need families anymore. Anybody can ‘produce’ children, raise them in ‘villages’ (because it takes a village!) and just be done with the whole problem. Progressivism taken to its logical conclusion. It’s better conclusion, the way that progressives of the 1900s saw it, the production of a race of ever more rational and free humans. Yes, it’s kinda messed up, but it has its logic. The twisted mechanics that led to our present Biological Leninist politics were, in the end, just the result of a lack of state authority. That may resolve itself quite soon. Again, with modern technology.
So yep, let me offer you a new Trichotomy. Global Haiti. Global Mexico. Or Brave New World. Pick your poison. I know mine.

In Vitro Fertilisation - An Expert's Guidebook To Comprehending This Three Stage Method
Any individual who has absent down the highway of fertility remedy, or is contemplating it as an alternative, will know that it is a journey which can show up complicated, terrifying and of system filled with uncertainty. A single possible fertility treatment method is in vitro fertilisation, which when you are not common with how it works can seem more challenging than it in fact is in actuality. Partners embarking on this journey often have minor expertise of the journey in front of them. They count on the specialists to be comprehension and clarify the alternatives totally and they can also read through and research data which is obtainable. The fertility journey can get its toll emotionally, physically and monetarily. Currently being armed with exact facts aids these on this route feel far more in manage of their personal destiny. The specifics about in vitro fertilisation are that it is a 3 stage remedy which is less complicated than some may possibly expect. The 3 levels of in vitro fertilisation are: Stimulation Egg Assortment Embryo Transfer Let us look at what each and every of these phases includes. IVF-Stimulation-These days most clinics employ what is referred to as helpful stimulation. The notion of friendly stimulation is to obtain a specific volume of eggs so that there will be a ample number of eggs for success even though at the exact same time not subjecting patients to distress. Respected clinics will not overuse medication. 查看我的網站 The reality is that a massive amount of eggs does not equate to accomplishment. In fact once a particular quantity of eggs are utilized, a plateau is reached. If as well several eggs are produced this can outcome in as well numerous eggs which have chromosomal abnormalities. Many assisted replica experts concur that the best lies in between eight and fifteen eggs, in excess of one particular or two cycles. This gives the the best possible chance of a practical pregnancy. Under are the figures. -5 embryos averages out at fifty two% success rate -Ten embryos 69% -Fifteen embryos the common success rate is 79% With this helpful stimulation strategy, typically girls can expect absolutely nothing a lot more than some pre-menstrual indicators. IVF-Egg Collection- Egg collection is carried out beneath sedation, so girls do not truly feel everything during this procedure. Despite the fact that there are some hazards attached, the charge of issues is extremely lower. Really accurate ultrasound devices are employed and doctors are extremely au fait with the technique. IVF-Embryo Transfer- Most clinics have out this method beneath ultrasound direction. Some clinics will carry out this guided transfer before the genuine cycle. This is known as a examination embryo transfer. Ladies don't truly feel anything at all throughout this method. The complete in vitro fertilisation treatment is much simpler than a single may expect, in a very good clinic. If we take into account egg donors, it is not likely that they would donate eggs much more than after if the procedure was complex and distressing. What is difficult is the emotional rollercoaster that partners and ladies go by means of while creating these decisions to consider IVF or any other fertility treatment and then waiting to see if they have been successful. Choosing a excellent clinic is central to your possibilities of success as nicely as your peace of head.

Lupine Publishers | Potential Consequences of Sars-Cov-2 Pandemic on Birth Rates and Subsequent Demographics
Lupine Publishers | Interventions in Gynecology and Women's
Introduction
The SARS-CoV 2 pandemic is now responsible for over 48 million infections and one million deaths worldwide. Pandemics impact population growth not only by excessive mortality, but also by preventing births. In previous pandemics occurring in the 20th and 21st centuries, a trend towards birth rate reduction was observed 9 months later (Figure 1). After the 1918-20 HIN1 influenza pandemic, birth rates dropped by 5 to 15% in comparison to average rates before the pandemic [1]. This drop was related to higher death rates in pregnant patients (case fatality rate of 27%), as well as miscarriages and stillbirths (increased by 0.4% and 2.2% respectively as compared to prior average rates) [1,2]. A rebound in birth rates, however, occurred 1-2 years after this decline [3]. Moreover, several studies have shown that children born in 1919, and thus exposed to the H1N1 virus in utero, experienced worse health and socioeconomic outcomes in older ages than surrounding birth cohorts [4]. SARS-CoV and Ebola were also associated with similar trends in birth rates during and after the pandemics in 2004 and 2015, respectively. In Brazil, the Zika virus pandemic led to a 10 to 20% drop in birth rates [5].
Figure 1: Evolution of birth rates after the previous pandemics, compared to average seasonal rates. Monthly birth rates were estimated by the number of births per 1000 habitants each month, based on the data available on the UNSD, WHO, CDC, IBRD and IFS Databases. For the 1918-20 Influenza, we grouped data from Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and United States, and presented the mean. For the Ebola 2015 outbreak, we grouped Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia as West Africa. The pandemic peaks were estimated in January 2016 for Zika in Brazil, in May 2003 for SARS in Hong-Kong, in November 2014 for Ebola in West Africa, and in December 1918 for the H1N1 pandemic. Monthly birth rates after the pandemic peaks were compared to average seasonal rates using standardized differences. Standardized differences are presented as percentages in the figure (y).
Lower birth rates after a global pandemic could be explained by adverse outcomes related to the pathogen (maternal deaths, miscarriages or fetal demise), by the fear of potential complications leading to elective abortions in cases of maternal exposure, by the decision to postpone pregnancies in couples who would otherwise be willing to conceive, as well as herd or population stress which is known to decrease fertility rates. The high global incidence of disease and its widespread media coverage are also factors that may contribute to an overall decline in births during and in the 9 months after a pandemic.
Concerning SARS-CoV2, Chen et al. recently reported four elective abortions in nine (44%) pregnant women infected during the first trimester [6]. In their series, three other patients (3/9, 33%) lost their pregnancies due to early miscarriages. Other complications, such as fetal growth restriction and subsequent demise could occur later in pregnancy [7]. Cessation of IVF during the crisis is also a factor limiting conceptions (3% of pregnancies are obtained by IVF) [8]. Several factors that could potentially influence conception and birth during the present pandemic, however, remain difficult to investigate. These include the fertility impact of social distancing and quarantine measures, rates of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes, and access to elective abortions during the pandemic.
Nonetheless, by analogy with prior worldwide pandemics, we should expect a drop in global births during and up to 9 months following the conclusion of the pandemic, followed by a subsequent rebound in births as time passes. These changes in birth rate might of course have a direct impact on the supply of maternity services worldwide, including the location and number of healthcare providers.
This decline in birth rates could particularly affect long-term demography in societies where the population growth is already almost negative, such as Western Europe. In Italy for example, a 15-percent drop in births now would result in 2 retirees for each active worker in 20 years. These macro changes in age distribution carry major societal, cultural and economic long-term repercussions. By contrast, they may be less impactful in resource limited settings, where the population pyramid is younger and thus likely to experience less deaths due to COVID-19.

IVF TREATMENT-In Vitro Fertilisation
Sperm collection and processing are to be done with great care to avoid infection. Before this IVF Treatment is designed, the husband must have a trial preparation of sperm to see the integrity and biological nature of the sperm and their survival hours. Now after egg pick up the husband is asked to give the semen sample within 2 hours. If he thinks it might be a problem in these tense hours, he must have done it during earlier days, which could be cryopreserved. The same applies to husbands working abroad or undergoing surgery/radio, chemotherapy. The husband could be given a non-toxic condom if he is unable to produce the sample by masturbation. The specifically prepared sperms and the incubated eggs are combined in a test tube or petri dish in a prescribed number ratio and left for a few hours for them to unite. The culture dishes are kept in a modular chamber which holds the gaseous environment very strictly and these are kept in turn in a CO2 incubator. Our IVF lab utilizes a TRIGAS (O2, CO2, N2 mixture) incubator instead of CO2 alone since the presence of 5 % O2 improves the culture Conditions and integrity of embryos. After 18 hours, they are examined under a stereo zoom microscope for fertilization which is obvious if two pronuclei are seen clearly. Each pronucleus denotes the decondensation of a male and female nucleus (DNA). Once they are identified, fertilization is confirmed. This day could be accounted as Day 1. After 48 hours, properly growing embryos show 4 cells inside, and after 72 hours they show 8 cell divisions. Only then they are considered as good embryos. Once the cell division seems to be insufficient and the embryos have the odd number of cells and unequal cells they are considered to be “blocked” ones and they have meager chances to make blastocysts at the end of Day 5. Depending on the number of 8 cell stage embryos available on day 3, the type of embryo transfer and the day of embryo transfer are decided. The success rates are also determined according to the number of 8 cells staged, grade I embryos available in the culture system for that particular couple.

Backstory - When I was 19 (2012) I did a TAFE course where one of the women was a single mum to 2 children via IVF with donor sperm. My mind was blown. I didnt know that was a thing women could do. I was so amazed by this woman. I immediately decided that come 30, if I didnt have a partner then I would do the same. But currently I had just achieved my dream of visiting Ireland by doing a 3 week contiki tour of the UK by myself. When I came home, I became an Aunt for the first time to my nephew. Then off again less than 3 months later to Europe for a 3 week topdeck tour. The travel bug had begun.
A few years later in 2015, I was 22 and still single, I found a Single Mothers By Choice facebook group. I joined and just watched and learned from the sidelines as the option of it all kept becoming more likely. I kept busy travelling and baby sitting my godson and nephews. Then my best friend fell pregnant and my ovaries awoke. This precious baby girl born in 2016 stole my heart.
In 2018, I had completed my goal of 25 countries by the age of 25 by spending my birthday in Hong Kongs Disneyland. I was content to finish travelling and begin the next chapter of my life. Saving and planning for my future.
I was still single but fiercly independant after many solo trips and quite happy being alone but not lonely with so many family and friends, and babies being born. 2018 I was told that I was going to be an Aunt again - twice. Two of my brothers were expecting baby girls the following year.
2019 - I made the decision. I wanted a baby to call my own. I went to my GP who referred me to a Fertility Specialist (FS). I had a few tests and was put on the donor waiting list. My nieces were born 6 weeks and 4 days apart. I chose a donor. It was becoming real. I was telling people my decision. Everyone was supportive. Then in August my 90yr old Oma passed away. September was spent arranging her affairs and the house. October we had our first family holiday to Bali. When I came back, I started my first IUI. It was like a papersmear where the sperm is inserted directly into the uterus. The Two Week Wait (TWW) began. Negative. My mum paid for another round in December. Another TWW. Negative.
I decided to change careers instead of doing another round. I was accepted in a traineeship role studying my Diploma in Childcare.
2020 - My new job was and still is amazing. I have made so many genuine friendships and never felt so supported. Then a conversation with a male friend happened. He liked me back. Great? Nope. Next morning I woke up to all feelings and interest gone. I was so confused. What was wrong with me? I googled. I discovered the Aspectrum. There was a thing called Aromantic and Asexual where you lack the attraction and interest. My life all of a sudden became clearer. I wasnt broken.
Then COVID happened. The world shut down. But I didnt. I loved the lockdowns. As an introvert and INFJ, I was finally able to recharge and focus on me. I started sleeping again, I started painting. I never lost work. It was great.
I was happily completing my studies, getting my social quota filled at work and chilling on weekends while I saved. Then my coworkers begun announcing pregnancies.
Come September, I was booked back in to see my FS. I wanted to try again. But I wanted to surprise my family this time. I had plans to divert my mail and have secret days off so they wouldnt know. But my FS had other plans. I was told it was time to try IVF. Which meant needles, day surgeries and no more secrets. But I still had time. I had to go back on the donor wait list. This could still be a few months.
I rang the FS counsellor, only to be told that my donor allocation was never removed. I could begin right away. *Que internal panic*
