a redraw of the first drawing i posted here to celebrate the fact that ive been in tumblr for more than a whole year posting my shit and havent deleted my blog in panic yippee \:D/ (mushy rant in tags)

A little 15 min doodle but first post of the year has to be Bingqiu!
#ok its time to get mushy in the tags because I doubt anyone would read them too closely#I’ve had severe art block for YEARS before I got into danmei in 2024#and it wasn’t that my skill was gone it’s just that I thought nothing I did was good enough#I started reading danmei around the summer of last year and I got SO INSPIRED#I dived into the fandom side of things (I haven’t been in a live fandom in years) and was so excited about all the art people were making#and writing! and music! and animatics!#everything was so bright and colorful and beautiful#and everyone had such cool designs for these book characters that I’d grown to love#so I took a chance and doodled a little Luo Binghe and posted him on here#and I was so taken aback by how welcoming and sweet the fandom was#it made me wanna keep taking chances and posting my art— because I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept#that even if it’s not good enough for me#someone else may enjoy it#and ain’t it crazy that ive come to enjoy drawing again too#sure the interaction has been fun but it’s been even more fun experimenting with my style and experimenting with colors and rendering#and grayscale and angles#and composition and expressions#ahh!! art is so fun!! Hes kind of based off the donnie darko rabbit. He almost exclusively wears merchandise of the quentin tarantino movie death proof. He talks to his cats in a baby voice. He wears a white fedora that makes every video he wears it in feel dated by like 7 years. Hes 5'3. Sometimes he barks like a dog. Hes from new jersey. He hacked a girls tumblr blog so he could post about how awesome he is. He added a laugh track over a video of him killing people. He named a chainsaw rex. He torments people by playing frank sinatra at them. His name comes from an animal collective song. His creator drew his "true form" as a giant buff wolf bug anthro. Theres a (semi)canon blog entry where he makes the speakers blare rob zombie before he enters a room, then holds a guy at gunpoint to describe what he did to to him while "making sure to leave in all the cool parts". The guy hes possessing has radioactive blood. He tried for 2 whole minutes to pick up a bottle of ketchup with a grabby hand. Hes kind of suicidal.He can be reasonably compared to pretty much every major tumblr sexyman. His actor has gone on record saying heath ledgers joker inspired his acting choices. His creators were too attached to him to permanently kill him at the end of the series. Sometimes his voice gets distorted and it makes him sound like bill ciphers first year on HRT. Hes basically like my artistic muse. For some fucking reason i associate the song cake by the ocean with him. I firmly believe that if everymanhybrid didn't require a masters degree in creepypasta autism to comprehend, he would've caused more teenage stabbings than the slenderman incident and more kin war tumblr scenarios than nagito komaeda.

#GODDD I NEED MORE PPL TO TALK ABOUT IL-NAM AND GI-HUN'S FINAL CONVERSATION#and i need them to like actually pay attention this time#stg its one of the more misunderstood scenes of the series#ive seen some people seeing it as a clash of two totally valid ideologies when like#no one of these things is clearly wrong. characters can have flawed logic even if they SOUND convincing#il-nams so fuckin good at manipulating that hes manipulated the audience NOOOO#people got too convinced that il-nam was in the right when he said 'well people came back on their own accord'#as if we didnt have an episode explicitly showing us the characters very shitty lives outside of the games#that forced them back into them#as if we werent explicitly shown gi-huns situation in great detail in e1 that landed him in the games in the first place#also i do NOT agree with any kinda sentiment that gi-hun is 'just as bad as the VIPs' for playing that game w/ il-nam#i mean. the dude was clearly reeling from the fucking BETRAYAL HES EXPERIENCING>??#and also il-nam is very manipulative as i said before. i think he was good at redirecting their interaction so that in the moment gi-hun >#> kinda forgets could ditch il-nam and go outside n save the homeless man himself#<- not really perfectly worded but i hope yall get what i mean#plus in s1 it was shown that gi-hun could sometimes not think ahead or clearly#especially when his emotions are running high#like. idk. when he realizes the man hes grieved and felt immense guilt over for a year is actually an evil ass rich dude who orchestrates >#> the mass murder of people in debt#god i am one PETTY ASS BITCH cuz i will NOT LET THIS GO#anyways. i just think that il-nams betrayal is just so so fucked because i was really Thinking about it as i rewatched the ep and#gi-hun likely grieved il-nam the same way he grieved the other friends he had in the games. he probably saw him in his nightmares too.#remembered how he'd hugged him even though gi-hun had been tricking him#(SIDE NOTE. hello!!! i was able to get all my bills paid for this month without overdrafting my bank account, which is amazing 🥹 but my rent is coming up and due on the first, i only have $5 in my bank account but i need $750 to pay rent 😭😭😭 im working my ass off on comms in the coming weeks, if anyone is interested in getting one in the meantime im extremely open! $80 for a single character and $120 for two characters!
and if you cant afford that and just want to throw a few bucks at me that's much appreciated too!!! anything helps at all, anything will help me not be severely overdrafted before my next (very small) paycheck hits on the first of january!
