Have any of your listener designs become the canon version? And for who if so?

Listeners are definitely tricky as they're supposed to be audience stand ins, BUT there have been a few cases where my listeners have become the VAs personal canon!

First one that comes to mind is Faith Koria from @goodboyaudios Bastard Warrior!

I came to GB with the concept that she had more African features, and he loved the idea and made it canon to his canon! Hence why the official art of her brother is also black! Now that Faith has an official voice, she's more of a character then a listener. So you can consider this art accurate to her character!

Another option would be Raven from @escapedaudios Neon Noir, but that's a more complicated story

I headcanoned that Raven got a Crow tattoo on her back, shoulder and neck to memorialize Crow at the end of the series and going into Neon Wings. Escaped really liked the idea! but my headcanons had already infected enough of that series and I felt bad, so I asked him to not include that one lol You can blame a lot of Ivan's look and backstory on me though! I came up with his birds and their names, his prosthetic leg, and his actual design!

CONCEPT:

YOU CAN LIKE A CHARACTER AND NOT LIKE WHO THEY ARE

Case and point, I love Raven as a character. But she's a shit human being and I don't like her as a person.

"But she's traumatized! You can't hold what she does against her!" I'm going to use your spine as a jump rope.

TRAUMA 👏 IS NOT 👏 AN 👏 EXCUSE 👏

Neon Wings Raven is a bitch who purposefully pushes people away without explanation and hurts them and then beats herself up over hurting the people around her. She's in her own self-fulfilling prophecy of hurt and pain and throws herself a pity party for it instead of trying to change it.

Don't even get me started on her jumpiness and selfish pride in abandoning everything and everyone who has come to care for her just because she thinks she's burdening them and causing more hurt and pain.

Is it a reasonable response after what she's been through? Yes.

Do I blame her for acting the way she does because of it? A little.

Do I think she deserves better than what the world has given her to help because the state screwed her over? Absolutely.

Do I like her as a person understanding all of that? Hell no.

I didn't like how Michelle handled talking to Raven but she was so right, Ivan deserves so much better than her.

Mans really said "I can fix her"

Anyway, Raven is a bad person but that's not gonna stop me from loving the hell out of her. I'm gonna shut up now.

(Also that rant about hero characters is coming, it's just taking a lot longer than I thought it would and all of this is a part of Raven's explanation soooooo yeah)

currently having thoughts about icarus/wax wings ivantill its the sacrifice its bringing him closer to the sun even as ivan melts, its till crashing to the ground in ivans efforts to bring him higher

its desperately grasping for what burns you and the freedom of flight

also ivan as an imitation of something else, till who molded ivan into the shape of freedom, the fall to the earth after reaching for the sun with nothing left but burning wax on your shoulder blades

icarus/wax wings is a rarepair comparison in contrast to icarus/sun comparisons, but ive always liked the romance of wax wings!!!

the wax wings that try to bring icarus to the realm of the gods, and icarus whos nothing but human

ivans devotion to his "god" and till who saw ivan as an equal

till who falls to the earth as a human when the one elevating him to the status of divinity is gone

its the fall that makes icarus human, and its flying icarus to the sun despite everything that makes the wax wings a just little human too

Ivan and paloma from neon wings!

Aa i just noticed the parallels between Fish and Purple and Raven and Ivan after my 100th rewatch

Idk i love neon wings sm, the sound design is soo good! I love how the panic attacks/ptsd flashbacks are portayed. And i love the fight scene with Raven in the diner, the sound effects Are so good im never confused on whats going on. «Untill the next sunrise» is a gut punch.

I have not finished a reference like this for Ivan (he/she/they/it) since 2015-17 and I am just in time for artfight too! Very pleased with his new main/default outfit and the mix of masc and femme design aspects. I believe I finally depicted a good visual of what her damaged wings look like as well as the fact they are modeled after swan wings when feathered.

It feels so good to have completed this. Although I draw Ivan very often — he is my favorite to draw for multiple reasons — it has always been difficult making a reference for him. I cannot count how many times I have started working on a reference for them and dropped it. Perfectionism always got in the way.

I do have a nude version of their reference and plan to design more outfits for them and fill their wardrobe up!

Hey hey everyone! I'm thinking of doing something similar to what I did for the complete edition of the Rival Slasher Villains series for Neon Wings, and including a little slideshow/collage of all the fanart I've gotten for the series. Post it on Tumblr/Twitter/Etc and tag it as #Escaped Audios/#Neon Wings, or if you have fan art you already made and want me to share just tag or DM me and I'll add it!

If you have any questions about character designs, let me know! Raven is basically up to interpretation. Her only canon traits are that she's physically athletic and in her early 30s after the Neon Wings time skip, but even that is up to pretty free interpretation. Ivan has a dad mustache and a prosthetic leg, but otherwise you can just do whatever you want with him as well.
