Got me generic screening back and if the 176 gene mutations they screened me for, I only tested positive as a carrier for 1, which is really nice. I was worried that there were punnett squares in my near future 😬😬

Hey there! It's been ages! I've got some incredible news to share – I'm pregnant! Today marks 5 weeks and 2 days. Can you believe it? The first round of IUI worked like a charm. My partner is over the moon, already brainstorming baby names, obsessing over baby gear, and planning out parental leave arrangements. It's absolutely heartwarming!
Amidst all the excitement, I started a new job just three days after getting the positive test result. It's been a whirlwind, and honestly, I haven't had a moment to let it all sink in properly. But now that it's Saturday, I finally have some downtime to process everything. So far, besides dealing with chronic constipation and that one random day of intense hazelnut cravings (which, by the way, I usually can't stand), I haven't felt too different. But I'm sure it'll all start feeling more real soon.

In-Vitro-Fertilization : IVF Treatment
Starting the journey towards parenthood can be a challenging road for couples facing infertility issues. In vitro fertilization (IVF) has emerged as a beacon of hope, providing a pathway for those struggling to conceive naturally.
Understanding IVF or in vitro fertilization is a complex medical procedure that involves fertilizing an egg with sperm outside the body. This process offers a solution to a range of fertility issues, including blocked fallopian tubes, male infertility, or unexplained fertility problems. IVF has witnessed significant advancements since its inception, becoming a widely accepted assisted reproductive technology.
The IVF process typically begins with ovarian stimulation, where fertility medications are administered to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. These eggs are then retrieved through a minor surgical procedure. In the laboratory, the eggs are fertilized with sperm and the resulting embryos are monitored for a few days. The healthiest embryos are selected and transferred into the woman's uterus to establish a pregnancy.
Success rates for IVF can vary and are influenced by factors such as age, the cause of infertility, and the quality of the eggs and sperm. It's essential for couples considering IVF to have realistic expectations and to work closely with their fertility specialists to understand the potential outcomes.
One of the critical aspects of IVF treatment is the emotional and psychological toll it can take on individuals and couples. The journey is often filled with hope, anxiety, and a rollercoaster of emotions. Recognizing the emotional aspects, many fertility clinics offer counseling and support services to help individuals navigate the challenges of IVF.
The cost of IVF treatment is another consideration for many couples. IVF can be a significant financial investment, and costs may include medications, procedures, and laboratory fees. It's crucial for couples to discuss the financial aspects with their healthcare providers and, in some cases, explore available insurance coverage for fertility treatments.

In recent years, advancements in technology and medical research have paved the way for additional options within the realm of IVF. Techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and egg freezing have expanded the possibilities for couples undergoing IVF, offering more personalized and targeted approaches to fertility treatment.
While IVF has provided a successful path to parenthood for many, it's important to note that it may not be the right solution for everyone. Fertility specialists work closely with couples to assess individual circumstances, explore alternative treatments, and provide guidance on the most suitable course of action.
In conclusion, IVF treatment stands as a remarkable advancement in reproductive medicine, offering hope to couples facing infertility challenges. The intricate process, coupled with emotional considerations and financial aspects, requires a comprehensive approach. As technology continues to evolve, the landscape of IVF treatment expands, providing more options and opportunities for those on the journey to building a family.

I also think I could just strangle my doctor for the way she handled the ultrasound today. I feel like if your patient has had a previous negative indicator and has just told you they are feeling extremely worried/nervous/sad about what the ultrasound will reveal, you probably shouldn’t cheerfully say “well you’re so far along now that in just a minute we should expect to see your baby’s heartbeat!” right before you jam an ultrasound wand inside her and say “oh………….. hm. there’s nothing here.”
#I could have actually killed her in that moment I think#but I was also beyond anger you know I was just like staring at the ceiling listening to her go ‘oh… hm… well hm… hm…’#don’t worry I am never going back to this woman#I already requested an appt at a different place#I know I am projecting my grief onto her so I have someone to blame#but I also feel like what the actual fuck. you work with people struggling with fertility issues#don’t fucking tell them they’re about to see the heartbeat#IUI tag#sorry I can tag this if people need to filter#miscarriage mention

i’m back home! finally. iui story time.
so i was not expecting getting a smiley face yesterday. usually i can tell when i’m about to ovulate, it’s like a mini version of my period pains but there was nothing in the days leading up to it this time.
i took a test roughly 7 am yesterday and got a smiley face. sent an email to the clinic telling them what was going on and that I would have to make a special trip almost half across the country for them.
at 8:18 i get an email informing me that they tried to call me, and that they have scheduled an appointment at 14:15 that day for me (my phone keeps sending people busy signals while i don’t even get notified of a call. i think it’s the reception in my apartment). i basically say “oh fuck”, finish getting ready, put some things in a bag and book a hotel room cause i’m not driving back and forth again (did it for my first one and it was hell).
i drive out of town at about 8:40 and i just drive. i drive without stopping and I’m in reykjavík at about 13:00. i stop at kfc cause i haven’t had any food and contemplate if it’s a good idea cause you can’t pee 2 hours before the procedure and i already had to go. decide what the hell, get one of those twister thingies and then decide to go to the clinic.
i take the wrong turn which makes me lose my mind a bit but i get to my destination with time to spare.
i had a good talk with my doctor and she answered all my questions. this was my last straw of sperm so i asked her what my next step should be. she told me that considering i am still young there is no reason i shouldn’t keep going with the iui’s.
the next step would be ivf but boy is it a hassle. you have to inject hormones, and then when that’s all done you have to take a week where your eggs are harvested then inseminated and the put right back up.
i am going to keep on with the iui’s. she told me that in heterosexual couples an ivf isn’t really tried until after a year of trying. that’s 12 iui’s. i’ve done three.
so yeah. i’m at least gonna do three more.
anyways, this iui went well. 13 million sperms were pushed into my uterus. a great mental image. i bled a tiny bit which has never happened before but it’s not a bad sign. it was only one drop and it’s an invasive procedure.
all in all i spent about 200,000 isk in roughly 24 hours (€1339, £1147, $1466) so thumbs up for that.
also i stayed at a hotel and my charger didn’t work so i had to sit in my car for a couple of hours (i ended up driving aimlessly) to charge my phone so i could use it as an alarm. in the end i asked the insanely handsome guy at the front desk to call me at 8 am. he called me 15 minutes late (he was very apologetic when i checked out and i woke up at 7 am regardless so it was fine).
just got back home after a 5-hour journey where i, once again, didn’t stop to even pee.
i have a really good feeling about this time and i’m crossing everything in hopes that it worked 🤞🤞

Cycle 1 Day 2; 01.30.2023
Bruh... This past cycle was frickin 41 days long... By the time it finally came I was begging for it to just start so I could get it over with. Not as much pain as normally, but that could just be attributed to the fact that I took Naproxen as soon as I was spotting.
I watched a webinar today that went over weight and fertility. According to the chart my BMI is overweight and slightly close to obese (I am 5'9" and roughly 200 lbs., and my BMI is 29.9) which means there could be some complications when it comes to IUI. But my clinic's cut off BMI for IUI was 44 I believe so I know I'm nowhere close but it still sort of made me want to get healthier that much more than I already want to. I actually signed up for a yoga class for this Thursday!! Very proud of myself.
Also my 29th birthday is next week!! Weird to think that hopefully this time next year I'll be growing a little one!

Intrauterine insemination treatment procedure helps to increase the chances of fertilization and also beneficial treatment option for a low sperm count. IUI involves the placement of washed and concentrated sperm directly into the uterus, bypassing the cervix and reducing the distance the sperm need to travel to reach the egg. This increases the likelihood that at least some of the sperm will reach the egg and fertilize it.
Sometimes IUI may not be suitable for all cases of low sperm count, and other treatment option may require to be considered. It is good to consult with one of the best fertility treatment center in Bhubaneswar to determine the most appropriate course of treatment based on individual conditions.

I’m having some like Boring Adult Problems and Inconveniences lately and like, none of them are that bad but combined I’m just overwhelmed.
Also. Forewarning. This tumblr is about to start focusing more on trying to conceive and infertility so if that’s not something you’re comfortable with, unfollow. I make it a point to tag all my posts but occasionally there’s something I miss.
1) Basement- the drywall is up and painted, there were issues with the flooring where we wasted several hundred dollars, and now I’m having someone professionally come to install sheet vinyl. Then my Dad and I will finish the baseboards ourselves. There is a chance the guys who did the drywall did not reconnect my drier properly and we may have to cut into the wall again. My dad assures me it isn’t that big of a deal but I will probs cry lol
2) What kind of dumbass gets a cold in 80 degree weather? Me. That kind of dumbass.
3) My new grad was fired and no one is handling it well.
4) Why is trying to have kids so effing difficult??

February 20
I was supposed to start my first round of IUI this month, but my egg decided to take its sweet time growing. Even though they scanned me out the day before my expected ovulation, they missed it. I found out the next day, and by then, it was too late for this cycle. Plus, me and my partner hadn't been getting too intimate in the days leading up to my ovulation.
I was pretty disappointed about not getting pregnant this time. But, we decided to go on a quick trip afterward, which was nice. The ferry ride was chaotic with all the screaming kids onboard, but weirdly enough, it made me feel a bit better about not being pregnant. It was like getting a sneak peek into our future. Guess we gotta start getting used to that idea.
