Jednu vec mi prosím niekto vysvetlite.

Ako po tom, ako som sa dva roky zobúdzala vedľa niekoho veľmi špeciálneho, sa mám zrazu zobudiť vedľa inej osoby? Ako sa zbaviť toho podvedomého očakávania, že prvé, čo po rozlepení očí uvidím, bude tá dôverne známa tvár, a nie niekto cudzí?

Ako? Ako sa zbaviť skľúčujúceho pocitu, že podvádzam bytosť, ktorá však už dlho predlho nie je tak výnimočnou, akou bola? Ako sa odpútať od niekoho, kto si už dávno nepraje byť spútaný, od niekoho, kto sa zobúdza vedľa novej milovanej bytosti?

Ako sa zbaviť zimomriavok, ktoré pohltia celé moje telo, keď sa ho dotkne iný človek? Ako zabudnúť na vôňu, teplo, hlas a dotyk tej blízkej osoby, ktorá si však už vytvára spomienky s niekým novým?

Ako otvoriť brány svojho srdca a dať šancu ďalšej bytosti?

Ako? Tak ako?

Your life is so separate from mine that it’s hard to believe we were ever close at all. I remember when you pretended to propose to me in the hallway of our high school and the time you came over after your boyfriend broke up with you and we sat and watched movies until it didn’t hurt as much. I remember lacing our fingers together as we danced in rain on my birthday. I remember holding you in my arms after you got into your first car accident and how it shook you to your core. I remember dancing with you at prom and you said that you never thought you could have so much fun at a school dance. I remember talking about whether or not God exists, and our answer to life during those epic Friday night talks. I spent four years of my life loving you, making memories, and having fun with you. But now it feels more like photos in someone else’s scrapbook than something that ever happened to me. I wish that I could erase the time between us, even though I know it’s been too many years now. Even though I have no idea who you are now or who your friends are. Even though I don’t know your plans anymore or if you’d ever dance in the rain with me again.
