The memories come back to him slowly – colours and sounds and feelings, piece by piece, until Nico can push them together and just barely glimpse the bigger picture.

The language comes first, like an old friend, rolls off of his tongue as if it’d never left. It makes it weird to speak English, makes the words and sounds clumsier – once, he stumbles over half the words in a single sentence and thinks this entire thing might reveal itself to be more inconvenience than gift, after all. He wonders, briefly, if this is how he used to speak English as a child. If it used to be even worse.

He doesn’t seriously struggle to speak but sometimes he’ll find himself thinking, it doesn’t feel natural anymore.

And, immediately after, because knowing it doesn’t make it mine.

Some part of who he was has been unlocked and it clashes with who he is, the constant war between what was his from birth and what has been forced on him throughout the years – what he grasped onto when everything that used to be his was taken away, erased by a God who could not fully understand the concept of belonging in a single place. Could not understand the importance of roots and family and history, not in the way mortals do.

And whose fault is it, anyway? A million mortal lovers could not teach Divinity how to be human. It's to be expected, isn't it? It would be against his very nature.

Nico is angry, all the same.

It's not new, this anger.

OVERANALYSIS OF THE BURNING SPICE UPDATE TRAILER BECAUSE YOU KNOW I HAVE TO

we open up like this. pretty ominous words ... and you wonder which one is the demon and which is the god. burning spice and golden cheese seem to be very similar, possibly the most parallels that one could draw from the ancients and their respective beasts.

And then we get this shot. Obviously it's showing the soul jam, but there are also some things behind it. One resembles a snake ... APOPHIS ANYONE? this has THE most Egyptian mythology symbolism ever. if golden cheese represents ra, which makes one hundred percent sense considering her kingdom and wealth and radiance and all that, and the fact that she resembles a falcon, then the snake on this wall HAS to represent apophis. it can't not. heck, in some versions of the story apophis was A FORMER SUN GOD. like crk def knows what they're doing.

there's also this tiger character ... nutmeg tiger I'm pretty sure? something like that. they seem to be under the influence of burning spice, as well as all the creatures around them. they seem to be at a higher "position" than all these other guys, though. maybe a willing host?

and there is this. this is really interesting. the fact that Golden Cheese is the one to say this is very intriguing. as far as we knew, the ancients had no knowledge that the beasts even existed until pure vanilla's trip. he wrote the letter to dark cacao, and it was all "you won't believe this - but the place called BEAST-yeast has BEASTS in it!!!" and dark cacao was equally surprised. they didn't know. they thought they were the first ever wielders of the soul jam. but golden cheese ... seems to know a bit more than she lets on to the rest of the group. and a bit more than us. what the heck is the spice swarm?

also, the return (and release) of smoked cheese!! man I missed this guy. he seems to be working with golden cheese in this shot, but then what was his little deal at the end of the first teaser about? it does make sense, though, that he would try to at least be against burning spice - his entire goal is to get the soul jam because he thinks the current wielders aren't worthy - but to me it seems like he might have his own third side in this battle. he'll probably convince both sides he's working with them, knowing this dude. he wants the power of abundance and destruction, a second half he knew nothing about, the ability to make a change in the kingdoms and the lives of everyone in them.

and these two images are probably the most interesting of them all. they seem to be part of some sort of ancient papyrus or prophecy or something like that. golden cheese is yelling about the "great destroyer." could it be possible he was some sort of legend in their kingdom, a prophecy just waiting to unfold? could golden cheese have known about this threat since the beginning? could the beasts' corruption have been inevitable from the start, written in the stars ... and could the witches have known about it?

Hey i have a little question about your Tiger Zoro Au but first I just have to say I absolutely love this idea your giving me so much serotonin right now!!!

My question is that pre time skip was Zoro a skinny and long tiger? Then in post time skip he looks like those tigers that has hella muscles? How would the crew react to muscular Tiger Zoro?  Also (if it’s not to much to ask) how would each of the crew members react to Zoro changing into a Tiger the first time around?

Sorry if this is to many questions i just absolutely love this AU and I kinda wanna see more and your art for this is amazing!!!

Sorry for the wait! Thanks so much, that’s so great to hear!! 😭🙏 I'm more than happy to oblige, and no worries, there’s never too much questions about tiger!Zoro, you guys give me so many more fun ideas than I could ever come up with myself. So keep it coming, actually!!

Now for the post timeskip look, I’ve actually got two ideas. The first is the mentioned monster muscled ripped-as-fuck tiger, which is hilarious on it’s own already:

Maybe I'll make a seperate post on each of the Strawhats reaction to seeing Zoro change for the first time! For now though, Luffy of course thinks everything about it is awesome. He will not shut up about it and asks Zoro if he can do the most ridiculous things in tiger form, which Zoro sees as fun challenges. (If anyone's got any other crazy ideas Luffy might ask of him let me know haha)

The other post timeskip look idea is that he just. Grows bigger. In actual size. He just becomes a Huge tiger. This makes no sense but who cares (it’s One Piece after all) and Chopper is able to grow a few sizes in seconds, so I think he should be allowed a few extra meters. If only because it’s cool as hell.

Size difference would be something like this:

The only thing is though, his tiger form grows in size everytime he grows in strength, so potentially there's nothing stopping him from growing 'till fucking Enormous

grian etho evo au where when the server enters different versions of minecraft it sometimes fucks up and connects their world with other worlds and other lps from that specific version. grian is out thousands of blocks looking for clay and he stumbles across a weird little guy living in an ugly oak building with a creeper face on it talking to himself and when he tries to harvest The Clay outside his house the guy starts freaking out and threatening to kill him. its ethoslab at chocolate island who has until this point been convinced that he was in a singleplayer world. etho thinks grian was sent by spaz and grian thinks etho is a trick from the watchers. they both think the other is insane .etc

watched a majora's mask analysis earlier today with my fiancee. my verdict is that I actually really enjoyed the op's interpretations, but that I wished that they talked more about mm's literal level and what one can get from it, rather than talking about those events as if they are strictly metaphor. yes, of course the metaphorical layer of the game is rich to dig into, but it's also such an open-ended and surreal game that it's difficult to nail down every single distinct metaphor that can be derived from its events. which is why I consider it necessary to discuss the way the literal layer presents itself and what sort of motifs and ideas exist there as a baseline before you begin looking at it as metaphor

I love putting myself waist deep in writer problems that aren’t really a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but still bug me to no end [disclaimer: this post consists of fic planning rambles that can be construed as genuine questions for canon too]

Currently I’ve given myself a headache trying to figure out whether or not there’d be Heartless in Scala if Ephy (or anyone really) seals its Keyhole

Because what does locking a world’s Keyhole do exactly? Does it prevent Heartless from destroying the world? (they still appear, but just can’t destroy everything on a huge catastrophic scale) Or does it stop Heartless from appearing entirely, meaning there’s no need to worry about Heartless at all anymore?

My current working solution (for my own project, not necessarily for canon) is that Scala is a special case. As the hub for keyblade wielders, Heartless appear regardless of whether or not its keyhole is locked simply because they’re attracted to the keyblade and the numerous wielders that live there.
