Save Her
Guys I came up with a new DPxDC AU where we get Deaged!Dani(Ellie), Mom!Cass, and Dad!Danny.
"Cass... Are you sure you want to do this?" Tim asked one more time before he would put the last code in. He knew she was sure, more than willing to deal with it but he just needed one more confirmation before they all started what couldn't be stopped.
Cass stared at Tim, her face straight and her eyes firm without a hint of doubt. She nodded in his direction, despite the growing nervousness in her stomach for a second even with Stephanie squeezed her hand in reassurance and support.
Cass turned her gaze to the little girl, no older than thirteen, suspended in a tank full of green glowing goo and asleep. Her vitals showing up on screens near the tank coming from the wires that were hooked up to her inside the tank.
She said her name was Danielle Masters but had also said she wouldn't mind a new name once she was no longer just a clone but instead Cass's new daughter. She had only asked to include her 'dad', a Danny Fenton/Phantom, in her future naming decision too
Cass took a breath and said softly but determined "Save her."
Tim nodded back and entered the final code into the computer.
-x-x-
Basically-
Cass, while in Hong Kong, finds a destabilizing Dani.
Cass see's the desperation and fear Dani is in and helps as best as she can.
She manages to help but they both seem to know the next time this happens will be Dani's last.
Dani is very, very sick at this point and needs help even standing up.
Cass see's and remembers herself at this age and wants to help.
They do become friends and learn each other backstories
Cass goes to the one person she knows who might to be able to help with the destabilizing clone problem.
Tim, Tim is that person. (Because he's friends with Conner, and no doubt knows Conner's DNA and how it works, AND the fact he tried his hand at the whole cloning thing.... Tim told Cass everything once things settled down after his BruceQuest was done)
They fill him in on what is happening and he starts helping, mostly cause Cass asked and because "Clone rights!" (side note, he asked if its okay to tell Conner, when yes, Conner comes over and chats with Dani the entire time whenever he has free time) (the image of Conner sitting at her bedside as they chat is in my head btw)
Tim finds out the reason Dani is destabilizing so badly is because she's not 'complete', she needs a female donor technically because she's female not male (unlike Conner who is stable because he is male with male donors)
They find out that after trying to see of ways to save her that Cass was the closest that could donate her DNA (they also discover there might be a connection between ectoplasm and the Pits, they don't wanna run the risk of asking a LOA member) (If I remember right Cass grew around the Pits for a while and was even tossed in them after a fight with Shiva)
Tim also brings them news that Danielle's body is rapidly destabilizing due to her body/hormones trying to 'mature' her since she is at that age and she has less than a week.
Everyone knows there is no time to think of trying to save her in any other ways.
Tim says that if they do this, they have to technically 'remake' her body to the actual age she is (a couple months old/a few years old? Depends on the writer) and there was a high chance of her not remembering her old self. That the male DNA in her, the one that seemed to be the most is Daniel 'Danny' Fenton's DNA will be considered father DNA and if Cass does this, her's will be the mother DNA. (Vlad's DNA, because he would try to put his own in, would be 'pushed out')
Cass would become Dani's mother.
Both Cass and Dani talk about it.
Cass wants to help her, she had become friends with Dani and loves her like a little sister already but will try to love her as a daughter as well.
Dani wants to live an actual life.
They agree to it.
Tim sets everything up, Conner is helping around/keeping Dani comfortable/happy.
Cass told Steph and Babs whats happening and they're helping/being supportive once they find out everything.
Meanwhile Tim and Babs has Dick, and Damian go to Amity Park to find out whats happening there/bring Danny to her so they can explain what happened to Dani. (Dick and Damian have no clue why just yet but will find out when they get back, but oh boy is Amity a mess between the GIW, ecto-acts, crazy fruitloop mayor/villain ghost, and other stuff)
Cass and Tim tell Jason and he's helping Alfred (who basically already knows) set up a room for the newest arrival. Jason is gonna stick around if to just see Bruce's face when he gets called a 'grandpa' for the first time.
Duke takes this all in stride when told and just goes along with things now because this is life with the Batfam. He also helps with the room and keeping Dani company until the day.
Bruce was on a space mission thus comes home to find a new group of teens with his kids. One (with black hair and violet/purple eyes) is talking about a purple back gorillas with Damian and swapping vegan recipes, another (wearing a red beanie and has glasses) is getting into tech talk with Tim and Babs, a girl with red hair is talking classic books with Jason and giving Duke advice with school and stress, and another boy (one who could pass as one of his own adopted kids) is cracking jokes/puns with Dick, and telling Steph stories about his Rogues(!?).
Bruce isn't ready when Cass comes up behind him, nearly dancing in her spot and hands him something.
He is given a baby/toddler that looks like Cass but had darker hair and bright blue eyes.
He almost faints when Cass signs to him that he's holding his granddaughter, her baby.
He does faint when Cass notices the signs and takes her baby back before he falls over.

a bird's wings
warnings: gun violence (it's jason. what did you expect)
Dick doesn't fall.
It's become somewhat of an ongoing bit within the family. He's trained for such a long time ("too long," Tim complains, immediately after falling off a set of bars) that it's become almost second nature. He moves with the ease of decades of practice. His body had been trained almost from birth to be more flexible, to move his weight at the strangest angles, to keep stretching beyond his limits - all with a smile on his face.
It doesn't matter what League-inspired traps Damian leaves on the stairs, silently watching and analyzing the way in which Dick barely spares razor a passing glance as he simply bends out of the way. It doesn't matter if Cass tries for a well-timed shove down the stairs when his body is positioned just the wrong way, not when Dick simply vaults over the bannister, balancing on the rail with one hand for just long enough that Cass knows it's intentional, the cocky bastard. It doesn't matter how many of them team up against him - and they have tried.
Even when he does fall - as he tells his family constantly, he does fall - it's an elegant thing. If his hand slips, it's quickly replaced by another, redirecting him through the air, moving with a wind that only exists for him. When his feet don't meet the ground quite like he expected, his momentum carries him into a roll that looks just as intentional as his original movement. His mistakes are erased in the space between heartbeats, expression unwavering, a true performer.
In fact, Dick is so agile that Duke, when they first met, had wholeheartedly believed that he had to be a meta-human. Sure, there are plenty of flexible and agile people out there, but it's unnerving how he moves. His joints bend too far; his ligaments stretch beyond Duke's comfort. In a moment of curiosity, Duke asked Jason and Tim. Jason's expression didn't change (dying internally), and Tim made an odd choking noise (swallowing his own laughter). Duke interpreted these as (Jason) he was correct in his belief, which was no laughing matter, and (Tim) Duke should not know about Dick's meta-human status. It took years (and a blood test in the Batcave) for Duke to believe that Dick was actually a very unusual human.
Bruce, in his quietest moments, thinks it's magic. Years ago, lives ago, Jason had described being Robin as magic. And, of course, the role does hold its own power, but Dick's magic has always been his own. He was magic before he was Robin, and he was Bruce's son - a title that carried its own kind of magic.
That magic extended to his nights out on patrol, particularly when he was with Red Hood and Robin. Of course, he often found himself Batman's patrol route - Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin tagging along just for shits. Hell, Nightwing wasn't even supposed to be out - not when he'd had so many consecutive night patrols - but with so many of them, what could go wrong?
That night, the four of them cornered a criminal on a rooftop. Even after clambering up a fire escape, Nightwing's breathing had barely changed, Batman's was easily concealed, Robin had tested a new grappling hook, and no one is quite sure how breathing works for Red Hood after some oddities in the Lazarus Pit.
Instead of surrendering, the desperate, stupid man had sprinted directly at them, firing a gun wildly with one hand and screaming at the top of his lungs. Nightwing sidestepped easily, having seen similar idiocy in Bludhaven. What he wasn't expecting was to step into Robin. He adjusted, angling his body to the side to plant his other foot--
--which landed on Batman's cape, right as the older man was turning to watch the criminal run. The material pulled out from under him just in time for the criminal to impact Nightwing directly. On its own, it would barely be enough to move him, and even still, Nightwing watches as the man bounces off him directly into Red Hood's grasp.
But in this moment, in the perfect cascade of errors, Nightwing stumbles backwards off the roof.
Nightwing doesn't panic immediately. He twists his body, turning his stumble into a somersault without a second thought. He looks down, trying to find something, but there are no windows. No ledges. He is too far away from the fire escape. It is a solid, brick wall, and there is nothing for him to grab onto.
And Dick falls.
It's never the fall that hurts, he knows. Falling is so close to flying, and he spreads his arms like a bird about to take flight. For a heartbeat, he's a child being tossed in the air, he's a teenager slipping off a trapeze bar, and he knows there is something below him. Strong arms and laughter, a net that will bend with his inertia.
The only thing beneath him is concrete.
When his body hits the ground, it makes far too loud of a sound for a man who had always seemed lighter than air.
Out of everyone, that night, Oracle hears the impact the most clearly. Through his earpiece, she hears the clean snap of small bones, she hears the dull thud of a now-limp body, she hears a sharp gasp of air being forced out of lungs - all compressed into one, horrific heartbeat. She listens to rattling breaths get quieter and quieter until she can't hear them at all.
Bruce feels the impact in his throat, caught somewhere between his head and his heart. That's his boy, on the ground, but his other children are still up, still staring down the now-damned soul that had grounded their Nightwing. It takes him a moment to react, barking to Oracle to send medics to their location as he stalks towards the criminal.
Jason takes a more direct approach: a bullet through the man's skull. He doesn't have the same hold-ups as Bruce about killing, not when this man is responsible for hurting his brother. It is violence, simple and honest. It is protection, raw and vulgar.
Damian is the first to make it to Dick's side, practically leaping off the rooftop. He has learned enough, between volunteering at a hospital and what one learns when trained by Ra's al Ghul. He checks for a pulse, checks for breathing. He stabilizes Dick's neck, holding in place. His hands are small, but they do not shake, even when his muscles begin aching. He does not let them shake. Damian looks almost feral, teeth gritted and bared, silhouetted above Dick's body in off-putting streetlamp fluorescents. "No one touches him," he hisses. He only relinquishes his hold when the medics arrive. His hands curl into fists, fingernails biting into his palms
It is a quiet night in the Wayne manor that night. All of the siblings sit vigil around Dick. They all refuse to leave his side, barely moving, even when Alfred delivers pillows and blankets. Dick's face is slack and expressionless, and the sight feels like a blade to the chest. No one knows if he knows they are there.
Oracle clings to the sound of his laugh, pulling up old files. The last thing she hears from Dick will not be the sound of blood in his lungs. Jason fidgets with the shell of the bullet he put through the criminal's skull. Damian holds a medical textbook open in front of him, but he does not turn a page. His gaze is stuck on Dick's eyelids, waiting for them to move.
Here, surrounded by his family, Dick has never seemed more painfully, awfully human.

So on January 26th yesterday, I looked into how the comics had Cass combat her disability in Dyslexia being not able to read and relate words vocally.
What worked, what didn't, and which era handled the progression better.
At the very core of her very first appearance in Batman #567 by Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott, Barbara Gordon is trying to help Cassandra overcome her disability. And it is her first words spoken that give her father David Cain pause.
Batgirl Vol. 1 #2 gives us the first look into how Cass really doesn't fully care about learning in either study instead focusing on her new vigilante life. That is until running into Robinson and learning WHY words and writing truly matter.
#5 has her run across a metahuman who has mental abilities and because of those rewires her brain to have the capacity to understand.
It's a cheap copout for sure. But it gives Cass a voice in her mind along with the capacity to speak better. Bad news? It screws up her abilities and how her mind was originally wired.
This leads into #6-9 basically being how Cass can get her ability to read body language and learn with the added bonus of her mind continuing to be the way it is. Enter Lady Shiva who gives her this, but at a price aka the crux of what will lead into Batgirl #25.
Batgirl Vol. 1 #20 written by Chuck Dixon (art still by Scott). Where Cass comes to a drop man who's murdered before he can deliver a ransom. Her lack of being able to read leads her to seek out--
-- one Stephanie Brown aka Spoiler. I think at this point the reason Cass went to Steph was that she was afraid Babs would lecture her on neglecting her reading lessons (which she would later on).
Tim Drake, she had just fully befriended (#18), but he was close to Babs. So Cass probably figured he accidentally let slip this and she'd be in trouble. Steph wouldn't she was on the outside from the Bat Family (at this time).
The issue does promise of Cass in attaining another reading teacher (which pays off in the most weirdest place, Convergence: Batgirl #1), but this plot point goes nowhere here. Cass/Steph's friendship would intensify for the next ten issues (#21, 26-28).
For the most part, we don't really get to see fully Cass try and fight her Dyslexia again until the Dylan Horrocks' run with #51 where we learn HOW Cass is expanding her word vocabulary via TV but neglecting on reading.
This bit reads its crux with the infamous #54 (i.e. the one that causes Cass/Babs to fracture away from one another).
In the issue, Cass has to deal with a killer robot that's taking out any place that has a copy of a book that has the codeword to shut it down. We learn during the fight, Cass has been neglecting her studies in reading. Again with the infamous page:
Now Horrocks did this because he was ordered to write Babs off this title (Birds of Prey, the comic Babs was primarily in would be eventually moving away from Gotham). It was the first of that would make the writer leave the comic (and DC Comics altogether).
Regardless again the way the case rattled Cass enough to think about it all and work back into trying to read.
If there was instant positive of writer Andersen Gabrych when he began his run. He made sure this was a reoccurring plot point THROUGHOUT his run starting with #58.
By giving Cass her own diary it enables her better way to try and combat her disability. Along with in the very same issue, Cass trying to actively read a book for the first time on page.
The diary motif would be a hallmark of Gabrych's entire run with the book. So I'm not gonna post every entry. But I think that's why I really loved those first few issues because he covered ALL corners with the character.
You saw it all.
Never once did Gabrych use behind the issues trick. This was a struggle for Cass. I think it better helped resonate the character with readers by doing so. It also went down an angle that was different than Puckett and felt like the better next step from what was built on prior.
Course Cass would still have her bad habits of being an avid TV watcher. So the balance of her trying and struggling was a nice touch.
This came to an ironic fully circle with #67 with Babs returning (for one issue) in the comic and the pair hashing out their differences and mending. But it also reveals a further reason why Babs really wants Cass to learn to read. Again, this is probably the best reason.
She knows Cass wants to be Bruce's heir and be Batman. She knows the only way to fully be that is to get fully conquer her disability. And for the second time in her ongoing we get a look in how Cass's brain was wired from her learning from her father and the metahuman.
And we get the clearest answer how Cass's brain truly operates and why the usual methods in overcoming her disability in reading.
That's the final gift Gabrych gave us.
A hope.
A small faint hope that maybe Cass could learn with whatever writer would take on the character next. The only thing is even he couldn't anticipate what was to come...
Batgirl was canceled with #73 and well the next time we saw Cass and how this disability was handled came in Robin #148.
Alright, before I go into this portion. Newly minted Robin writer (this was his first issue) Adam Beechen came into comics had zero idea of the character of Cassandra Cain, other than what he was told and found.
The DC Editors on Robin did not help him or assist him. They gave him an edict... and he did that edict without question. The result....
Was this INFAMOUS page from Robin #149. Cassandra Cain the character who had the disability of Dyslexia somehow was able to learn another entire language.
That's not even going with the OTHER problem Robin OYL gave us with Cass (but that's an entirely ANOTHER issue). Regardless after the story arc, Beechen (and DC) realized just how badly he screwed up.
Course, the entirety on HOW Cass was suddenly able to learn an entire language with how her brain understood information. Yeah, this was a plot thread nobody truly wanted to answer when the retcons began dropping after Cass's "EVIL" phase to fix it.
In fact, it was Beechen himself who addressed the issue in Batgirl Vol. 2 #1 amongst the CHUNKS of well exposition and history that was the mess DC made of the character from 2006-2007.
So all those issues Babs mentioned in #67? Cass and Alfred fixed them and for the entire MISSING YEAR Cass made great strides to overcome her disability. THAT'S how she was able to understand the Navajo language.
Look I get what Beechen was doing and I also get we were NEVER gonna get the missing stories to showcase that. But to see an entire character's journey in overcoming her disability fixed overnight?
Even with Beechen giving us a classmate in Sal (who's last name we NEVER learn, and is forgettable male love interest #3 for Cass) who gives us the promise of something we never get from the Vol. 1 ongoing. Because DC was gonna DC.
That's basically it for the original run for Cass. That it was a nice harrowing journey that had its bumps but the character was making great strides to be better. Then well the road bumps began to occur and yeah...
I'll give it to Beechen that he tried at the very least to fix the holes he himself caused. But... in the format given it's just crushing how this was fully handled in the end.
Sadly we got nothing more as DC really did a meh job for about five years? We did get this little nugget in Convergence: Batgirl #1 though (somehow connecting that line from waaaaaay back in Batgirl Vol. 1 #20)...
Which is shocking of all places for Cass trying to overcome her disability, Convergence: Batgirl #1 was not the place one ever would think to find that, but we had that surprisingly.
So when Cass was "reintroduced" into the DCU with Batman & Robin Eternal. A reset was in order and writers were allowed back to square one in how to deal with Cass handling her Dyslexia disability.
I will say this for James Tynion IV and Scott Snyder on how they handle putting a metahuman with mental abilities they just slot that character in #11 by introducing the Sculptor who basically fills the same void the meta in Batgirl Vol. 1 #5 did.
Much like the original metahuman, once this link is established Sculptor nopes her way out of the story and is never heard from again.
Which kind of surprises me, because it's something I figured Tynion would maybe address during his Detective Comics run (that had Cass in it) given how much in #11 and 12 establish the character and her origins.
But nope. Nothing further.
So yeah, after this we got James Tynion IV's Detective Comics run that had Cass in it starting from #934-981.
Not surprisingly, Tynion really handled the whole disability issue well than those in the past with the constraints he had. Even more so Juggling multiple characters in this book and going down a better avenue than his predecessors.
And that all begins with #953 with Clayface (Basil Karlo) trying to comfort Cass after learning her mom is Lady Shiva.
By doing this. Tynion lays the seeds on how he'll deal with the issue on Cass combating her disability while also cementing the hallmark of this run, Clayface's rehabilitation and friendship with Cass.
#958 we see Basil teaching Cass Shakespeare by playing audio and having her learn to read and increase her vocabulary via that.
It's probably the best thing Tynion did character-wise with Cass by briefly showing us this but fully giving us a more plausible method than prior on how to deal with her disability.
The fact that this hits throughout this arc (as Cass quotes Shakespeare at a good moment) and is carried over until the very end of his run when Cass meets Barbara in #981.
This version of Cass is actively trying to combat her Dyslexia more than her prior versions, and this Cass is actively doing a better job. Even though we don’t get much Babs teaching Cass (though they do work together in the next arc after this that sets up Batman & the Outsiders). But that run doesn’t dig into Cass’s progress instead going into other routes to touch on with the character.
Unlike what was carried over from Batgirl Vol. 1 to 2 (and between that) Cass has a more concrete subplot here. Where we can SEE and are TOLD of her progress.
That leads us into the current Batgirls ongoing. In #1. where this is a little bit lampshaded. As Cass uses a reading bag to combat criminals to retain stuff she/Steph had that was stolen.
A further bit of subplot is continued throughout and in #4 with Cass now ACTIVELY being a bookworm and reading works of Edgar Allen Poe.
Like it astonishes me that this element of the character has remained actually consistent from point A to B. But it's a nice contrast of things that creators at DC worked on better here than prior.
And no issue highlights that fight of Cass actively wanting to combat her dyslexia then "Sounds" from DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration #1 by Mariko Tamaki and Marcus To.
It's why Tamaki just fully GETS the character of Cass not in every corner of the character. Why many want the writer to handle the character again.
But Tamaki isn't the only one who did a good job in showcasing Cass fighting her disability and the one that does the best job is Shadow of the Batgirl graphic novel. Where writer Sarah Kuhn and artist Nicole Goux go both literally fighting her disability.
And her actively learning to read and increasing her vocabulary by hiding in the library was absolute perfection.
But it also is a nice avenue (and nod to the past) by focusing on a library since that's the location where Barbara Gordon teaches (and again a nice nod to that character's history too).
Quite literally...
That's another layer to why I adore that graphic novel. Just the layer of dimension to BOTH characters while it gives that nod to Babs, the story is clearly more Cass.
Again, Kuhn modernizes everything to perfection.
So there you have the history of Cass and her disability. And my final gift on this day (which has now passed) to celebrate the character of Cassandra Cain.

Request for a Cassandra x a s/o with aichmophobia? Like, s/o doesn't tell Cass about the phobia, so when Cass trys to impress s/o with her weapon armory, s/o is desperately trying to be a good and involved partner but also trying not to breakdown and panic,,they probably do anyways and have a reconciliation with Cass in where they confess about the phobia,,
Unsheathed Fears
Cassandra Dimitrescu x GN!Reader
TW: Anxiety, Aichmophobia
------------------------------------------
Being the head chef in Dimitrescu Castle wasn’t just a job—it was a lifestyle. Y/N had somehow managed to capture the interest of Cassandra, the middle Dimitrescu sister. They had been dating for about seven months now, and every moment together felt like a stolen piece of paradise.
When Y/N wasn't swamped with work in the kitchen, they would steal away to spend time with Cassandra. They'd find hidden corners of the grand castle to share whispered conversations and secret kisses. It was in these moments that Y/N realized just how deeply they had fallen for Cassandra. Everything about her was mesmerizing—her fierce loyalty to her family, the way she always had Y/N's back, and her surprisingly gentle side that she showed only to Y/N. To the other maids, Cassandra was intimidating and cold, but with Y/N, she was tender and loving.
One evening, after a particularly grueling day in the kitchen, Y/N found themselves in Cassandra's arms, nestled in the warmth and safety of her embrace. They lay together on a plush sofa in one of the castle's many drawing rooms, the fire crackling softly in the background. Y/N could feel the tension of the day melting away as Cassandra ran her fingers through Y/N's hair, her touch both soothing and electrifying.
"You work too hard," Cassandra murmured, her voice a soft, affectionate reprimand.
Y/N chuckled, looking up into Cassandra's eyes. "Someone has to make sure you and your sisters are well-fed."
Cassandra's lips curved into a smile. "I appreciate it, you know. Everything you do."
At that moment, Y/N knew that no matter how tough things got, as long as they had Cassandra by their side, they could handle anything. The castle, with all its grandeur and secrets, felt like home because of her.
The next day, Lady Dimitrescu had surprisingly given Y/N the day off, a rare luxury. Y/N decided to spend it in the castle's expansive library, surrounded by ancient tomes and the comforting scent of old paper. Bela and Daniela were there too, lounging around and indulging in their favorite books. Daniela, ever affectionate, was cuddled up to Y/N, reading a novel together. It was a peaceful scene, a rare moment of tranquility in the otherwise imposing castle.
As Y/N turned a page, the library door creaked open, and Cassandra stepped in, her presence immediately drawing everyone's attention. Y/N felt their heart skip a beat at the sight of her. Cassandra had a way of commanding attention effortlessly, her aura both captivating and slightly intimidating.
Cassandra's gaze locked onto Y/N, and a smile curved her lips. "Hey, Y/N. Can you come with me? I want to show you something new in the armory."
Y/N hesitated, a flicker of anxiety crossing their face. They had never told Cassandra about their fear of sharp objects. Bela and Daniela exchanged knowing glances, fully aware of Y/N's phobia.
"Um, sure," Y/N finally replied, trying to keep their voice steady. "Lead the way."
Cassandra's smile widened, and she extended her hand, helping Y/N up from the comfortable nook they had settled into. Together, they walked through the winding corridors of the castle, the atmosphere growing heavier as they approached the armory.
Inside, the armory was a stark contrast to the cozy library. It was filled with weapons of all kinds, gleaming menacingly under the dim lights. Y/N felt their palms grow sweaty, their heart pounding in their chest. Cassandra, oblivious to Y/N's discomfort, led them to a new display of intricately designed swords.
"Look at these," Cassandra said excitedly, her eyes gleaming with pride. "Aren't they beautiful? They're new additions."
Y/N swallowed hard, trying to focus on Cassandra's enthusiasm rather than the sharp blades. "Yeah, they’re... impressive," they managed to say.
Cassandra turned to Y/N, noticing their unease for the first time. "Are you okay? You look a bit pale."
Y/N brushed it off with a weak smile. "I'm fine, just a bit tired."
Cassandra nodded and continued to show different weapons, her excitement undimmed. Y/N tried to keep up, but the sight of so many sharp objects was making their head spin. They felt increasingly lightheaded, struggling to maintain their composure.
Cassandra, still absorbed in showcasing the collection, glanced back at Y/N. "You sure you're alright? You don’t look so good.”
Y/N tried to brush off Cassandra's concern once more, insisting that they were fine despite the dizziness threatening to overwhelm them. But Cassandra wouldn't let it go. With a firm but gentle touch, she led Y/N back to the library where Bela and Daniela were waiting.
As soon as they saw Y/N's pale face, Bela and Daniela rushed over, concern etched on their features. "What happened?" Daniela asked, her voice filled with worry.
Cassandra, still confused but sensing something was wrong, simply stated, "Y/N wasn't feeling well."
Bela's brow furrowed as she looked between Y/N and Cassandra. "Did you tell her yet?"
Y/N shook their head, feeling a knot form in their stomach. They hadn't planned on revealing their fear to Cassandra so soon, if ever. But with the way things were unfolding, it seemed inevitable now.
Cassandra looked at Y/N, concern evident in her eyes. "Tell me what's going on."
Y/N hesitated, their heart pounding in their chest. "I... I have a fear of sharp objects," they finally admitted, their voice barely above a whisper.
Cassandra's expression softened as she processed the confession. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Y/N glanced down, feeling a surge of guilt wash over them. "I didn't want you to think I didn't care about something that you love so much."
Cassandra reached out and gently lifted Y/N's chin, forcing them to meet her gaze. "Y/N, I would never think that. Your well-being is more important to me than any weapon."
Bela, sensing the tension in the air, decided to intervene. "Y/N has been keeping this from you because she was afraid it would change the way you see her."
Cassandra's eyes widened in realization. "I see. You didn't have to hide this from me, Y/N. I love you for who you are, not for what you're afraid of."
Y/N felt a wave of relief wash over them, grateful for Cassandra's understanding. "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner."
Cassandra pulled Y/N into a tight embrace. "There's nothing to apologize for. From now on, we'll face your fears together."
Bela and Daniela exchanged knowing glances, silently acknowledging the strength of the bond between Y/N and Cassandra. Despite the initial tension, the revelation had only brought them closer together.
As they settled back into the comfort of the library, Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support of their partner and friends.

At first I thought it was mildly annoying? that rottmnt would trend after a CAS update because it got my hopes up "SEASON 3 NEWS?? no just a fan comic"
But then I actually read it and now I totally understand.
And now I think its fuckin hilarious CAS updates make the entire rottmnt trend. Cass is single-handedly propping up this entire fandom she holds so much power

Mishapocalypse: what the-
Hey, former redditors! Welcome to the hellsite, we're all glad that you're here (especially you 196 folk you warm my dead, frozen heart). While on the whole you seem to be adapting AMAZINGLY fast to site culture, if any of you are confused over one of our founding myths this may help.
(or if you're a veteran tumblrina and just want to read an essay that's fine too)
(others key parts of our national identity to learn about if you're curious include Goncharov, I Love You, Color of the Sky, My Three Girlfriends, and many more)
also if you don't want to read my entire fucking essay take this and run
but if you want to know the deal with this man, read on!
Mishorigins
Supernatural is a 2000s-ass TV series that ran on the CW from 2005 to 2020. It's about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, who are "hunters" that protect people from various supernatural entities. The show was originally planned to last five seasons, with an angel character named Castiel (this is important) slated to be revealed as God in the finale. Castiel (nicknamed Cass by the CW and Cas by objectively correct people) was introduced in S4.
left: Castiel, the gay angel of our collective dreams. right: Misha Collins.
The Man Behind the Mish
Misha Collins is a straight man who was forced by a cruel and uncaring god to play a heavily queer coded angel on a TV series intended for any demographic BUT gay teens (which is what it became). His performance as Castiel, and the large queer teen fanbase he drew, were a driving force behind a show would ultimately continue for three times longer its original plan.
I don't have anywhere else to put these facts so they go here
he was an intern in the Clinton administration during the Lewinsky scandal
he knows Tibetan throat singing
he was arrested for climbing onto a bank roof (he was trying to... read a book? 👀👀👀)
he probably made Jensen Ackles (the guy who played Dean less homophobic? Maybe?
he held a scavenger hunt called GISHWHES several times for his charity, Random Acts
cool guy
he later played Harvey Dent on Gotham Knights this very year (2023)
there's icebergs of this shit
he farted on an airplane once
Mishion: Impossible
April 1st, 2013 is a date that will live in mishinfamy. Tumblr a main hub of the SuperWhoLock fandom (a mega-fandom amalgamating Supernatural, Sherlock BBC, and Doctor Who), was the only place the Mishapocalypse could happen.
For boring deets I'll redirect you to the KnowYourMeme page but these images should sum it up.
left: a list of Tumblr users, circa 2013. right: a fine example of Misha culture
There are two takeaways here:
You cannot outrun Misha.
You will become him.
On April 1, 2013, a significant portion of Tumblr changed their avatar to the now-iconic Mishapocalypse photo and their handle to "Misha Collins", followed by similar waves of Mish across other social media sites.
above: the modern Prometheus
This beautiful event was emblematic of pre-Dashcon Tumblr, an era as far away from us now as 1200 AD was from 1208 AD. You'll be pleased to know that the Mishapocalypse returns every April 1st to grace these ancient halls, a small group of pilgrims tracing new paths on the well-worn floor of the Church of Misha.
(this isn't to say the Supernatural fandom is dead, it's just somewhat diminished from it's glory days.
Thanks for reading! Reblog if you liked. I'll leave you with a bunch of Mishimages of my own that I posted for Mishapocalypse 23 (the 10th anniversary). Shameless self-promotion!!!
in clockwise order:
The Mona Misha
Mishius
Misha's extra hour in the ball pit
The Mishian (with Mish Damon)
Future ideas include Salvator Misha. Feel free to ask any questions you have, and I hope you enjoy Tumblr.
Happy Mishing!
ps I have not actually watched supernatural you just learn all of this via osmosis

Hey there! so one of the fics you recommended is my new favorite and I was wondering if you have more like that? it's when Dean tells Sam about Cas' love confession before he was taken to the empty and then Sam is all like "let him down easy" and Dean's over here: nah that's not what you think :D!! thank you for all of your posts. your posts make my day :)
Oh oblivious Sam. Happily living your own life thinking what you want to think about your brother whether or not its the truth. You'll always be my favourite. I assume this is the fic you're talking about.
i just know that something good is going to happen - an_ardent_rain Ao3
Set 15x20 didn’t happen AU. They are finally on the way to the beach and Dean hasn’t addressed what Cas said before he died yet. When Sam tells Dean not to be weird about letting Cas down, Dean realises that he isn’t actually going to reject what Cas told him in the dungeon.
Word Count: 10k No Sex
Of course there are others where its only after Dean thinks about it that he realises he doesn't want to let Cas down easy - or at all.
I Wasn't Going To Mention It - sandean_cas Ao3
Nonspecific timeframe. Tired of Cas randomly telling him things about Dean, Sam asks Dean to let the angel down gently. (Cas is spelled Cass)
Word Count: 1k No Sex
Love Struck – Sharliem Ao3
Nonspecific timeframe. When they realise that Cas has been hit by a truth spell and can’t stop spilling what he thinks about Dean, Sam hopes that Dean won’t be mean about it. But maybe Dean just needs to tell Cas what he thinks about him in return
Word Count: 6k No Sex
now the weight of the world ain't so bad - the_oncoming_stormageddon Ao3
Set 15x20 didn’t happen AU. He knows that Cas loves him, but it takes Sam asking Dean when he’s going to settle down with someone to start to realise they’ve basically been dating without him realising it.
Word Count: 10k No Sex
Baby's Backseat - sandean_cas Ao3
Set S14. When Cas develops a problem with riding in Baby because he can sense all Dean’s past hookups, Sam is the one that has to explain to Dean that its because Cas has been in love with Dean for years. However he is shocked at the lengths Dean will go to to make Cas comfortable again. (Cas is spelled Cass)
Word Count: 3k No Sex

Moonbeam Cass (Reverse Robins)
As Duke's successor, Cass will of course be iterating on his design. Normally, this would've taken a lot longer to put together (as you've probably noticed, they tend to be multi-day designing marathons.) However, I had a stroke of inspiration last night that I absolutely love, and everything else came together very quickly after that, so let's start the ball rolling with Moonbeam's new helmet...
...a gold-mesh saber mask! Cass wraps the top in cream-colored fabric, so that it's an off-white helmet with a gold mesh bubble in front of her face. She also wears a white neck gaiter under it to further conceal her identity, even when the light does hit the mesh just right for someone to see through it.
I feel like Cass would go back to the demi-cuirass, but she'd change it up; now it's a cream-colored leather piece worn over the brassy/golden chainmail tunic, which obviously goes very well with the new mesh mask.
(This, but in off-white & without the tie. Its job is a little extra protection and displaying Moonbeam's symbol. On a meta level, it also helps visually break things up & keep them interesting.)
The Moonbeam symbol is still an iridescent white circle, but Cass's version is definitely ringed in gold.
The chainmail tunic hangs just past her knees, but splits into multiple panels (3-6, though I'm sure some people would draw it as individual strands, which while not practical, is a hell of a look that I absolutely support!) at the tops of her thighs.
Cass actually wears 2 utility belts, in that complete-fantasy way where they hang at a diagonal to form an X at hip-height. You know, the kind that would just fall off if anyone really tried to wear them that way, but looks so cool in character design?
(I'm so annoyed that I can't find a reference image for this, so here's a super-quick mockup thrown together in GIMP. Thanks to the base maker for saving me here.)
The undersuit Cass wears is white, but is only really visible on her legs; the chainmail is full-sleeve (fitted, rather than hanging loose.) It looks like she's wearing lightly padded white leggings, though they are, of course, made of the most flexible stab- & tear-resistant fabric Bruce could get his hands on.
Continuing down, Cass wears sturdy brown motorcycle boots, probably with a little pocket or two, under the same greaves she briefly wore in Red Robin (2009), but the greaves are the same golden as her mask.
(These boots but maybe a little taller, an example of pockets, and the awesome costume she wore for all of one single issue and then we never saw it again.)
Bouncing back up real quick, I'd give Cass her Orphan pauldrons, specifically this iteration of them where it looks like they have a little gold moon on them, but with a cream background instead of black.
(I want to say she has tiny matching elbow pads worn over the chainmail sleeves, though that's another detail I feel would disappear fast if anyone actually had to draw this costume for a comic. Possibly for good reason, I worry they might be just a little bit too much.)
Finally, Cass's costume is topped off with a pair of gauntlets; the metal is once again that creamy-white (this time with gold edging) and the leather base matches her boots perfectly.
(Source 1, Source 2. You'd be surprised how long I looked to find a style I actually liked for this costume.)
The Moonbeam circle that Duke wore on the back of his hand is now inlaid at the center of Cass's palm, and is rigged to actually work as a flash-weapon if she needs it to. This helps her pretend that Moonbeam still has Duke's powers, acts as a last-resort surprise in a pinch, and I'd like you to imagine her holding out her hand to help someone with a shimmering, inviting glow lighting up her palm.
(I also want you to imagine her standing next to Shadow!Steph, since they're basically a matched set. I was not actively working to have their costumes compliment eachother, since that wasn't the in-universe plan when Cass took up the mantle, but I think they'd compliment eachother nicely.)
That's all for this one. Thank you for your time.

Could you perhaps do a FNAF request, where it's Gabriel x Evan, but it's a wholesome cute situation(nothing weird), where Gabriel awkwardly gives Evan makeshift flowers.
Hey, this is my first work on Tumblr so please be patient with me. I was a little unsure what to do so I’m sorry if this isn’t what you wanted. What is canon about Fnaf is so very little and so it was kind of difficult for me to try write this. Gabriel and Evan are not characters I typically write in stories. Let alone a story solely about them. This is my first story I have ever written with Gabriel and possibly my second with Evan (if Evan was in one he was a background character.) This was such a cute request that I knew I just had to write it! I know this might not be entirely what you asked for. This story kind of took a mind of it’s own which is something that has not happened to me before. I hope you enjoy what I came up with. If you don’t like it, let me know and I will try again. Thank you so much Anon for the request and without further ado…. Makeovers and Makeshift Flowers

Gabriel was used to life now. Play around with the night guard from 12 A.M to 6 A.M, learn new choreography from 6 A.M till 10 A.M, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza opens at 10 in the morning and he has to preform from open till 12 P.M. At 12 P.M he does meet and greets, from 2 until 4 he/Freddy has to sing and do birthday celebrations, 4 until 6 he does some more meet and greets or hangs out with birthday kids, at 6 he preforms with the band, and finally at 10 the place closes and Gabriel is left to do what he would like until it all restarts at 6 again.
It went like that for a while, until Gabriel met Evan.
Gabriel was messing with the night guard like normal and he stumbled across an old room. It was run down and quite gross. The paint was chipping off the walls, there were spiderwebs in every corner, there were boxes filled with random things that were old, rusting, and should have been thrown away years ago. There was trash and mold almost all over and where there wasn't mold there was fungus. Overall it was a mess.
It was so messy that Gabriel almost missed the dark purple colored bear. As Gabriel turned he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. He turned back to face it and walked forward. As he walked, he heard whispering however he couldn't make out what was being said. Once he reached the source of the movement and sound, he realized it was a dark purple bear. He didn't recognize it from anywhere.
"Hello?" Gabriel said to the machine, cautiously.
The machine looked up at him and he saw its eyes. He realized that the robot was like him. Stuck. He was stuck here in this pizzeria and he noticed that the machine in front of him was too.
Gabriel (against his better judgement) got out of the suit leaving it where he once stood and knelt down. He tried again to talk to the animatronic he now knew to be possessed. "My name is Gabriel. I'm a ghost too. What's your name?"
Gabriel didn't hear anything for a while and he was about to give up until he heard a small voice whisper "Evan....my name is Evan."
Gabriel would have missed it if he wasn't used to having to strain his ears to hear young shy children. "Hello, Evan, what are you doing back here by yourself? Are you always alone?" Gabriel asked.
"I-....I wa-was-wasn't by my-myself. Ca-Cass-idy was here wi-with me. Sh-she l-left to go t-talk to th-the night g-guard. I-I'm no-not al-ways a-a-alone. Ju-just some-sometimes. Li-like when Ca-Cassidy isn't he-here," Evan said.
Gabriel noticed that Evan had some difficulty talking, but unlike everyone else in Evan's life, Gabriel didn't make fun of him. Gabriel didn't tease Evan or make fun of him and Evan liked that. He liked that Gabriel didn't make fun of him.
Gabriel and Evan talked for a while. They both were having fun laughing and cracking jokes. Gabriel and Evan both couldn't remember a time that they had had that much fun.
After that day, Gabriel started to go to that old room that Evan was in. Gabriel felt bad for Evan that the room that he (Evan) had to live in looked like that.
One day while Evan and Gabriel were talking, Gabriel found out that Evan loved the outdoors. Evan missed being outside and looked around at nature.
Evan saying that started something and after Gabriel left to go learn a new song they would preform that day, Gabriel thought of the perfect solution.
Gabriel hated that Evan was stuck in that old, musty, moldy, fungus-filled, disgusting room and finally Gabriel had found the perfect way to fix it.
Gabriel was now searching for the two people that could help him with his plan. Cassidy and Susie.
Susie wasn't as hard to track down considering Gabriel was with her and the rest of the gang all the time. Cassidy however was tricky.
However luck seemed to be on his side because he had managed to find Cassidy and Susie in the same room, at the same time.
The room was empty besides Gabriel, Susie, Cassidy, and a couple tables and chairs.
"Do you two have a minute? I need some help with something," Gabriel asked the girls.
They both turned to him and asked him to continue.
"I-...," he began although stopped himself to sigh, took a breath, and then continued by saying, "Evan is in that messy, gross, disgusting room all by himself. He hates it in there, but he doesn't complain. I need your help because I want to fix it up for him, but I need help doing it so could you both please help me?"
Susie answered almost immediately by saying, "Of course I'll help!"
Cassidy however took a little bit before she finally decided on an answer. "Fine, but what do you want us to do?" Cassidy asked.
"I want you to distract him while me and Susie set up the room," Gabriel answered.
They all agreed. Cassidy walked off to find Evan and once she did she spent the day entertaining him and keeping him from seeing the room. Meanwhile Susie and Gabriel cleaned up the room.
"So, what do you plan on putting in here once it's clean?" Susie asked.
"Well, Evan loves nature and outdoorsy things so I was thinking I would decorate it with something to do with that," Gabriel said.
"Hmmm, I think I have an idea," Susie said.
~TIME SKIP~
The room that was so gross, moldy, disgusting, vile, and overall unpleasant to be in was now transformed into what looked like a beautiful outdoor, woodsy type place. The walls were painted green and had trees painted carefully on it. The floor was now wooden and had a nice grassy-green rug. There were chairs and a table to color at. There were picture books stacked nicely on a shelf with an empty photo album to put pictures in. There was a new light put in that was in the shape of a tree as well as led lights strung around the room in the shape of Freddy's characters. There were a couple pictures on the walls. And finally there were makeshift flowers all over.
Gabriel was nervous. He was worried Evan would think it was stupid, awful, or just straight up hate it. In fact he was so worried that he started pacing.
That was until he heard the door open. When it opened he immediately turned so his back was to the wall behind him and his front was towards the door and his hands behind his back.
"Wh-what ha-happ-happened to m-my roo-m?" Evan asked.
"Umm..m-me and Sus-Susie- um, cl-cleaned it up and d-decorated it. I-I'm sorry. D-do you hate it? If you do I-I can fix it. I'm sorry I should have asked I-" Gabriel said sheepishly till the end where he was in a panic before being cut off.
"I-I d-don't hate it. I lo-love it! Tha-thank you," Evan said as he ran and gave Gabriel a huge hug.
Gabriel hugged him back, but was only able to for a couple of seconds until Evan let go and asked, "What's that?"
Gabriel looked for what Evan was talking about until he realized that Evan was taking about the makeshift Flowers and daisy chains in his hands.
Gabriel stepped a couple steps back away from Evan. "O-oh, um, this is, um- I-I know you like flowers and stuff s-so I made some...for you...um, here," Gabriel said while handing Evan the makeshift flowers and daisychains
Evan looked at the flowers for a couple seconds before taking them and giving Gabriel a big hug. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Evan said.
"It wasn't all me. It was Susie's idea. I just made the-" Gabriel said before being cut off by a kiss on his cheek.
Evan smiled at Gabriel and they both new that what happened to both of them wasn't ideal, but had it not, they wouldn't be where they are now and not Evan nor Gabriel would change it for the world.
Writer’s Note: Evan kissing Gabriel’s cheek can be read romantically however I wrote it as a way of Evan saying he is thankful without using words because in my mind after the bite Evan has trouble talking, communicating, and sometimes even remembering words.

Week 7 Recs: Fever Dreams
Week 7's theme was "Fever Dreams," all about the crackfics and other wild and wacky rides. Some of these are sheer goofy fun, and others take a chance with some crack treated seriously. This includes not one but FOUR different animal transformation fics, by the way. Here are the recs gathered from the Yeehan community, organized by rating then alphabetically by title!
General Audiences
A Better Fate Than Roadkill by robocryptid [10,982 words] Reccer comment: "the summary says it all LOL"
When shelter worker Hanzo takes in a rescued armadillo, he doesn't expect it to be quite so much trouble. Or for it to take such a shine to him. Or for it to maybe, possibly, be more than an ordinary armadillo.
Teen and Up
See Through The Dragon's Eyes by thecatsred [20,131 words] Reccer comment: "i’m always a sucker for Hanzo getting turned into different creatures - though this one of him being turned into a noodle dragon is actually kinda cute"
There is little to be done once Hanzo's dragons have their minds set on solving his problems (with some nudging from certain interested parties).
Mature
Pink by mataglap [3,998 words] Reccer comment: "Because who can resist Cole in a fluffy pink tiara and Hanzo with a pretty pink hair bow 😂"
The fact that they are on the same side, on the same team and fighting for more or less the same cause doesn't change the fact that Hanzo Shimada and Cole Cassidy compete about everything.
Put It In (A Hallmark Card) by robocryptid [WIP; 4,412 words] Reccer comment: "Cupid has a personal issue with Hanzo and deals with it the way trickster deities usually do."
After pissing off Cupid, Hanzo is cursed to do the god's bidding by playing matchmaker. His latest assignment is the most challenging yet: finding the perfect match for one Cole Cassidy.
Trust and Love in a Broken Heart by Author_of_Kheios [22,191 words] Reccer comment: "not exactly a crack fic, but I'd like to recommend "Trust and Love in a Broken Heart" by my buddy Author_of_Kheios. Hanzo accidentally gets possessed by the god of Love, but this Cupid is far kinder, more thoughtful, and more profound, than he is usually given credit for, and Hanzo and the Cowboy both get swept along for an adventure. The ending is perfectly self-contained, but also leaves the door open for further adventures"
Hanzo didn't mean to become a vessel for a god of love, but it might just be the best thing that's ever happened to him.
Explicit
Anatomically Correct by Sougishiki [245 words] Reccer comment: "speaking of fever dreams, I thought I’d only imagined this fic, but no. it’s real & it’s delightfully cursed."
First of all, I am so sorry. Second of all, that thing dogs do when they tie where they go butt to butt to keep watch.
Don't think about it by urgaylol [129,830 words] Reccer comment: "Anything urgaylol has ever written, honestly. But the one in which Hanzo becomes a hardcore utilitarian dictator takes the cake."
Hanzo asks McCree for casual sex and misadventures ensue.
Pastel Darklord by Dracoduceus [60,085 words] Reccer comment: "let’s include a trifecta of YeeHan animal transformation fics with “Pastel Darklord” by dracoduceus"
Hanzo has been turned into a swan and he is not thrilled at all.
On the plus side, his handler is a very attractive man.
--
Jesse is not thrilled to be taking care of a swan, much less one as aggressive as the one he was sent to rescue from a local park for attacking someone, but he doesn't have it in him to turn down an animal in need.
He's also been dreaming a lot lately. Dreaming of a very attractive man that always seemed to be waiting for him at the shores of the lake...
The Rest is Gravy by robocryptid [1,430 words] Reccer comment: "I have to request this one bc I still laugh at how ridiculous it is-- Cass is way too horny for his own good--"
As an international organization, the new Overwatch tries to celebrate the holidays of every one of its members' cultures. This time, it's American Thanksgiving. Cole Cassidy cannot handle it.
Rooster in the House of the Rising Sun by coinin [18,300 words] Reccer 1 comment: "I mean, I'm never not gonna rec this absolute masterpiece of crack treated seriously"
Reccer 2 comment: "This is unironically one of my favorite fics 😭"
Reccer 3 comment: "Absolutely the best Yeehan crackfic of all time, hands down, no question."
Reccer 4 comment: "Still among my favorite Hanzo or Yeehan fics ever."
Hanzo makes a deal for his life, and spends some time as a rooster. It's better than dying, right?
That's all the Week 7 recs! Thank you so much to everyone who submitted a fic rec. Stay tuned for the Week 8 theme: "Middle of the Road," i.e. those fics that are long but not too long (10k to 25k words).
In the meantime, you can also check out the Week 6 recs here or check the list of past and future themes here!

Alright I got time to explain something.
Yes, fuck the Legion in New Vegas (especially Vulpus and his larpin ass).
But also...
*sigh*
The design of how the Legion was supposed to be more fleshed out instead of out right convincing the player (right from the start if you went through the dialogue) that they're only slave driver larping misogynist asshats with a great logistic strategy and bodies to throw at the dam.
More below the cut cos also I have a Love/Hate relationship for this game and not because it was one of the most annoying games to manually install mods for (I did find a solution to at least make vanilla modding so much faster and easier).
Like...Sawyer wanted that and was denied of making a game that sat between the events of FO3 and FO1 and 2, and had a lot of hard/harsh truths that were deeper than what the game delivered. And of course more that he and the devs wanted to put into the game but were ultimately cut out.
The DLC in ways (particularly Lonesome Road and Dead Money) was supposed to at least open a doorway to those questions with viable answers (along with the fact that Ulysses was also supposed to be a companion that is sympathetic to the Legion). But it did so in a manner at the time that still left so much to be questioned and answered for.
I wasn't expecting a War and Peace novel of the complexities of the harsh truths that the writers and devs tried to flesh out over an 18 month period of development. However, I was expecting something more after Fallout 1 and 2, and to have that press and push the envelope just enough to say that there's more to the post-post apoc ordeal that is the Fallout Universe.
Like the game is already not black n white/cut and dry in its narrative even if that narrative was...still not that great.
With all that said, having known of what it could've been still kinda sucks in ways because now it's burned into my head that the Legion is Just Bad With No Nuanced Explanation.
Wait...back up two feet...
It is nuanced but it's cut short. And unless you take the dive and side with them, you'll see that nuance but again, even with some of the later game dialogue that can sway the player to side with them (I'm more or less thinking of when you get to the strip and a disguised Legion messenger comes up and gives you a letter which will partake in a parlay with Caesar*), and even with how Cass tells you (again, kind of a mid-game event/questline) that she even admits that logistically she'd rather deal with the Legion than the NCR solely because they Get Shit Done and know the logistical, and social contract of Don't Fuck With Your Supply Line...
It's still not enough to give the player pause and see what truly makes the Legion tick in my personal opinion--especially given how it's said in the game that they're a band of many conquered tribes that lived east of the Colorado. So like...
¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ you're kind of left going Legion Bad.
I still don't like them as a faction, I really don't, but I'm not gonna lie and state that it's never crossed my mind to explore what the game offered as far as siding with the Legion. Maybe I'll do it fully at some point. Emphasis on maybe.
It was already hard enough to deal with the fact that convincing Ulysses to Stop with the whole setting the whole world on fire again was like talking to a giant fire ant that wants to be in an open ended container =\.
The NCR ain't out of this either as they were also supposed to be more nuanced. And in ways they are a more nuanced faction than the Legion in base game/vanilla. The dialogue where the arms dealer at the 188 Trading Post was a clear sign that not everyone was walking the straight and narrow. She had issues with how top brass were ordering her to so something that was more extreme for the reprimand she delivered to them. Along with the fact that greenhorns were 2 weeks out of training and were thrown into the field Just Like That.
Cass is a hardcore NCR sympathizer/patriot. Fine (You're hot Cass, but I'm still docking points girl, they're racketeering cops systematically and seem to be an offset of the Enclave which like...Yikes? Come on Cass think for a second).
But even she sees the issue with this war of the NCR being too spread thin for controlling the hoover damn which can provide electricity and clean water, resources that, yes, ARE very rare given how it's in...you know...a 200 year old post-nuke winter post-apocalypse.
So the game gives the player incentives to dig in further to either or both sides but not enough to really get things to be truly compelling and at the very least, complex enough to be convincing. At least for me. (Not saying they have to convince me and me alone...that'd be dumb.)
In both modded and vanilla playthroughs of the game, as much as I fucked over the NCR (cos I did see them as cops and too close for comfort of feeling like they're Enclave Lite) I also sided with them as far as the whole war between the Bull and the Bear.
Outside of that choice, it was either the Khans, or the Kings. the Followers were...weird so I was always whatever about em.
I never really went into the arc of Jacobstown and the Remnants, partly because before I even got a chance to mod the game, playing on Classic Vanilla and not Fixed Vanilla, the game crashed if I even dared to venture farther beyond the usual main quest route (partly due to save file bloating and easy corruption of the file if it crashed before a save. That and I NEVER trusted the autosave function at all in the game).
And the Brotherhood of Steel…
*Actually thinking it through*...hmm...
Nah…fuck them.
I love you Veronica, you're a neat character, but like...girl your faction is...Not Good Company AT ALL and I'm glad you're aware of that but yeah, hard nope and pass for me still hope it all works for ya :)
I do wish there was more and maybe with the JSawyer overhaul and a few other mods, it can give more, but even then, the inescapable white narrative of it all still...leaves me feeling...meh about the whole game.
With Sawyer wanting a FONV 2 not set directly in New Vegas but in an area in close proximity to New Vegas, well I hope it can get greenlit. At the very least it'll be better to mod manually than the fucking shit I had to deal with (Gamebryo Engine...eugh...I can't imagine how hard it was to work with the engine at the time...well it was an attempt and I see that so still, good on the devs for giving their all...fuck the execs who pushed too hard).
I would get into more of how the game has a good subtle allegory (beyond Dead Money) about Letting Go, and also get into the deets and my opinion about the Honest Hearts DLC but again...for a different time.
*I'm NOT pronouncing his name as Kai-Zar...I don't do that (ㆆ_ㆆ)
#irrelevant babble#Xev talks about Fallout New Vegas#if Skyrim SE does play well modded I might be able to analyze that game later on

𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘. 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐄𝐑. 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒. THEA ELLIS BARLOW. / THIRTY THREE. / SANTA MONICA, CA.
TLDR;
Thea is the oldest daughter of billionaire hospitality heir Edward Barlow. She hates him, wants nothing to do with him nor does she have any association with the Barlow family anymore, hence the name change from her given last name to her middle name.
Her two younger sisters, Brie and Cass, are the only people from her father’s side that she’s stayed in contact with over the years and she loves them fiercely. She would do anything for either of them, despite the fact that she doesn’t always think they make the right decisions.
She began acting at age 12 in a sitcom series for a few years, then later dropped out of school to become a serious actor. She mostly did pretentious indie films and one YA action movie that really gave her a name in the industry, and she eventually won her first and only Academy Award at age 22 for her performance in a biopic. She’s been nominated one other time, but did not win, and mostly has been doing lesser known films before taking the lead role in a critically-acclaimed HBO series that recently released its first season.
She was married once about 10 years ago to a man who was pretty chummy with some of the most vile execs in the industry and when he passed away in a car accident, they all slandered her in the press.
Rumors that she had him killed, that she’s been linked to the illuminati, that she has a cow tongue, and a million other absurd things about Thea’s life and most of her relationships have run through trashy tabloids. She does have a lot of die hard fans, but she has never had a great public image or reputation, mostly due to the fact that she has no problem speaking up when Arrogant Men™ on set try it with her.
Because of this, she mostly keeps to herself. None of the rumors about her have been particularly career ending (most of them are so ridiculous that no one really believes them, they just think she’s a terrible person and a wackjob). She likes to keep her private life private and is rarely seen in public.
She’s a nice lady tho!!!! Just very quiet and mostly chill, but she will talk to a fan for hours if she connects with them over something as small as having their favorite local coffee shop in common or as deep as them both losing a parent. She has a lot of grace despite being trashed consistently in the press but she can be standoffish at first, as she finds it hard to trust new people.

06×07, family matters, lets fucking go, I am so ready for this
Uhm. Cass buddy, you good?
OH MY GOD INTERNET WHY DOST THOU HATE SPN
I just wacthed a 2h movie (the chikago 7 trials, I reccomend) no issue
I put on ONE teeny tiny spn ep. And its like 'actually nah'
It cant be the amazing special effects needing extra loading time istg
Okay you know what is scary
How well Sam‽ can lie to us
Like, I didn't trust him for a second, except for the 'he wanted to kill me?' Moment
But with the vampire and Samuel confrinting him 'did you let it happen?'
Thats not ackels(?) Playing sam‽ lying, that’s ackles playing Sam, being like 'wtf bro'
Meaning that to us (and the characters) Sam‽ is a friggin amazing liar
OH MY GOD CASS IS INQUIRING ABOUT THE EMOTIONS THING
I am so not ready for thos
(My dearest friend) Bunbun it should be x-mas so you can be here to hold my hand
SAM‽ YOU ARE EVADING THE QUESTION
Cass don't rape the guy
Or hit him with a belt like a bad boy
Chew toy go HWARMPH
Okay
Okay
Okay
Remeber the little boy?
The good actor???
Cas says
Bite on this, go somewhere soothing (pain indicators)
Fuck fuck fuck
Cass is checking his soul
Soul checking hurts
Holy fuck homt fuck
Look at cass s frown
What if Sam did make a deal after all
I mean, we established him a great liar
We know that dean is soulless after returning from hell (I misunderstood this, the horse guy just meant he was too depressed to want anything)
What if Sam also left his soul in hell, but it got ripped out wrong or smt
EVIL SWAMP
WENCH*
I couldnt find the word hahaha
Im going cooko crayceay
DID YOU FIND ANYTHING??
NO
WHAY IF THAT IS NOT AS IN 'NO I DIDNT FIND ANYTHIGNWROGN, BUT AS IN 'NO I DIDNT FIND ANYTHIG AT ALL
WHAT IF MY THEORY IS RIGHT
Both the winchesters made a deal, sold their soul, got em ripped out in hell. Dean got put back by an angel, profsessional in 'putting humans back atom by atom'
SO WHAT IF SAM GOT PUT BACK WRONG BY A FOOL WHO DIDNT DO IT EIGHT AND THUS FUCKED UP HIS FUCKING SOUL SHAPED HOLE
HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK
SAM IS FUCKING SOLULLESS
HOLY FUCKING SHITTING XOW
Holy fuck
What the fuck
Okay
What messed him up
Aaah I fuckingnlove puzzles
So sam got put back wrong
HOY FUCK I AM FREQKING OUT
Everytime cass says a new sentence, a new thing is discovered
And then I freak out about it and send you abt 5 texts
And then I play the next sentence
AND AMOTHER THING IS DICOVERED
Im freakin out
DO YOU KNOW HOW FUCKING QUICKLY I CALLED IT WITH THE CAGE THEORY
I know were only at ep 7
BUT I GOT THAT SO QUIKC
I am still standing by my theory that Lucy somehow popped Sam‽ back
[This is a vessel, my true form is the size of your chrysler building]
Suddenly im thinking back to my teachers speech in the assembly hall about how all them rich people build tall buildings to have a little dick size comparison fight
[Of course, your problems always come first.]
WAS THAT BABY'S FIRST SARCASM
DUDE STOP FUCKING LYING(Sam‽)
'He's our grandfather'
As if that should mean shite to you considering who your dad is
YOU PICKED FUCKING SAMUEL OVER DEAN
Man I am so over Sam‽s bullshit
Please tell me this is Sam being a double spy
YES THABK YOU
Purgatory?
The freaks get cleansed, and then send to heavem or hell?
Oh my god it is purgatory!
Im sorry. My guy can literally rip thick chains apart, but you are trying to tell me that some leather binds he had to slowly scratch open????
Its nice to see Christopher(?) Lose some faith in Samuel
Damn what is this, jurassic park??
The rate people dying
Christian is a demon????
He got possesed just right now this moment???
Man this show
DADDDYYYYY
Crowleys voice is sooo fucking tasty
The growl thing hes got going on
Like the bit where he goes 'now im the king and ive got mojo'
Thats a snack
I loooove Sam just cocking his gun
(You put a bullet in your grandfather or you step aside)
Especially bc this feels very regular sam
It do annoy me that they portray Sam‽ as angy (let it go: Dean) After we spend the whole ep. Establishing he dont have emotions

Supernatural season 5 pt 2
SUPERNATURAL IS FILMED BEFORE A LIVE STUDIO AUDIENVE????
Okay I am not liking this
Why are they clapping and cheering during my show this isnt a comedy they dont belong here. Shoo!
And so saturated omfg help
I WANT MY DESATURATED TRAUMA CHANNEL BACK
No okay I accept the intro song that is ADORABLE
The way theyre laughing at the startling and face wiping
Im sorry we are to believe thid guy is straight???? (Dean)
Like my guy was having full on gay panick
DEAN THE GIRLS MOTHER IS STANDING NOT EVEN 3 FEET FROM YOU
Nah thats not lucifer. Thats a different demon100%
Okay so it was lucy
Obsessed with them trying to get Sam in a psych ward so he just tells the truth
You bet they rock paper scissored this, and Dean, for once, did not use scissor
OH MY GOD DEAAAN
'You see what I mean doctor, he's being beating himself up over this for months. The apocalypse wasn’t -his- fault'
IRMA CANCEL MY LUNCH
The relationship you have with your brother seems dangerously codependant
WORD
I love this doc
Though I love him as a telly doc, not sure how convinced I am of his practices as a real psych doc
They classify Dean as a narcisist?
Oh my god it's here, the iconic scene
The little jiggle jump makes it so much worse
NOT THE FLOPPY NOISES
Flopflopflop
Mary is sending all the signals she wants sam and dean out and john is just plain igboring her
Its absolutely wild being in a fandom where you get sentences like 'Im only at season 8'
Okay we need to talk about Dean continuesly opening beer bottles with his bare hands
DEAN
TAKING OFF THE GLOVES ONLY HAS POINT WHEN YOU TAKE OFF BOTH
Okay
He clicked one button
And one beep was sounded
So: Dean has cas on speed dial
CASS WEAR SOME GLOVES
CHERUBS ARE NOT INCONTINENT
Oh my god cass what.
He stole deans burger
Please tell me theyve been cupid'd togheter
Oh my god thats a grown man
That's a naked grown ass man
I think its a new horseman (not the cherub)
Is there one for gluttony/lust?
SAM WDYM 'I COULD SMELL YOU'
New new theory
The briefcase is pandoras box and theyre meant to open it
It was a horseguy!!
THATS WHAT YOU CALL 'LOCKED DOWN GOOD'??? A pair of cuffs????
At least give the man entertainment so he can think of something else
He isnt gonna have a soul is he
Fucking called it
But what the fuck what the fuck
Spn: has a character watch a docu abt wildebeests so the audio can line up with the real events (it then closes in to the kill etc)
Also spn: shows us a screen several times of what is most definitely not a wildebeest
BOBBY THESE ARE YOUR KIDS
'And who actually are you?'
'A friend of bobby singers'
'The town drunk?'
'I thought he was the town drunk? (Sam points at other guy)
'And who told you that?'
'Ehm. ... bobby singer'
Dean canonically sleeps with his hand on his gun and thats both to be expected and deeply sad
WOW WTF
What a way to start an episode, just straight up killing the man
Dean death count: 109
Sam slaughter count: 2 (I think)
Deans heaven is literally innocent sam and the impala
IT WASNT PERFECT UNTIL AFTER SHE DIED (the marriage between John and Mary)
And from the grown ass naked man cherub we know that they hated eachother before God meddled
I NEVER REALISED HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN CLEANING UP DADS MESSES
No no no no crying
This is the face of a boy who got beaten to shit for that (letting sam run away)
No I dont like this episode
Sams heaven is filled with Deans trauma
Its all about him being away from them
And Deans heaven is being with him
HAJAAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAA
'Wow! Running from angels! On foot! IN HEAVEN! With thinking like that I'm surprised you boys haven't stopped the apocalypse already!'
ASH OH MY GOD
"You boys die more than anyone ive ever met''
I love how aware spn is of the spn death phenomena
When I tell you I actually screamed
Im out of images so there will be a pt3

if i was more consistent or more hyperfixated, i would. maybe after i write at least some of my tmnt au...
i say this bc the original post was one that genuinely sent a flash of creativity in my brain. and your ideas are so good??? jack "flunking out" or getting overwhelmed by being God so he delegates would be amazing. jack starting to doubt and feeling that he isnt really suited to be God, maybe even wanting to quit and trying to give it to castiel and cass cas having to talk him down from it.
dean and cas coaching jack. dean forcing jack to take breaks because he realizes he cant just take care of all of it, not even chuck could. dean being "forced" to be back to work to help cas train the seraphims. heres where it really hits dean how empty heaven was left from everything. he probably scoffs more at chuck even if the angels were dicks.
honestly i wouldnt even be mad if the rebuilding of heaven worked in one season, and if it wanted to continue, it could follow one of the noob angels. who knows! i never thought about a supernatural continuation, but i think something like this could work to bring the past to a nicer conclusion + start a new era that builds upon the universe rather than sticking with the old characters that already went through everything. and it allows you to see jack actually *becoming* an adult and learning things! it would deepen him so much! and come on. casual canon destiel in the back i feel is the way to go (with even some funny horny scenes but now its canon). oohhhhh my brain is expanding atm
re: heaven
i think castiel's "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIED ON A STUPID PIECE OF REBAR LIKE 5 MINUTES AFTER I DIED TO SAVE YOU"
vs.
dean's "HOW THE FUCK LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BACK?! WHY DO YOU THINK I LET MYSELF DIE IN THE FIRST PLACE??!"
would be the dramarama of heaven, would spread all over the cosmos, end up fucking up all of jack's plans because jack's starry eyed noob angels are way more interested in the cute little human who keeps busting into the heaven offices to chase cas around and be like "WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL YOU WERE BACK AND YOU DON'T COME DOWN TO FUCKIN' SAY HI ONE TIME??? AFTER THAT EXIT?!"
poor jack would throw up his hands and be like "well, i'm out. i gotta go focus on family therapy."
sam is like "why are migraines still possible in heaven."

Astronomy is all about light. Sensing the tiniest amounts of it, filtering it, splitting it into its component wavelengths, and making sense of it, especially from objects a great distance away. The James Webb Space Telescope is especially adept at this, as this new image of supernova remnant (SNR) Cassiopeia A exemplifies so well. Before a massive star explodes as a supernova, it convulses and sends its outer layers into space, signalling the explosive energy about to follow. When the star does explode, it sends a shockwave out into its own ejected outer layer, lighting it up as different chemical elements shine with different energies and colours. Intermingled with this is any pre-existing matter near the supernova. The result is a massive expanding shell with filaments and knots of ionized gas, populated by even smaller bubbles. “With NIRCam’s resolution, we can now see how the dying star absolutely shattered when it exploded, leaving filaments akin to tiny shards of glass behind.”Danny Milisavljevic, Purdue University Cassiopeia A exploded about 10,000 years ago, and the light may have reached Earth around 1667. But there’s much uncertainty, and it’s possible that English astronomer John Flamsteed observed it in 1680. It’s also a possibility that it was first observed in 1630. That’s for historians to determine. But whenever the exact date is, the light has reached us and continues to reach us, making Cassiopeia A an object of astronomical fascination. It’s one of the most-studied SNRs, and astronomers have observed it in multiple wavelengths with different telescopes. The SNR is about 10 light-years across and is expanding between 4,000 and 6,000 km/second. Some outlying knots are moving much more quickly, with velocities from 5,500?14,500 km/s. The expanding shell is also extremely hot, at about 30 million degrees Kelvin (30 million C/54 million F.) The JWST’s NIRCam high-resolution image of Cass. A reveals intricate detail that remains hidden from other telescopes. Image Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, Danny Milisavljevic (Purdue University), Ilse De Looze (UGent), Tea Temim (Princeton University) But none of our prior images are nearly as breathtaking as these JWST images. These images are far more than just pretty pictures. The cursive swirls and knotted clumps of gas reveal some of nature’s detailed interactions between light and matter. The JWST sees in infrared, so its images need to be translated for our eyes. The wavelengths the telescope can see are translated into different visible colours. Clumps of bright orange and light pink are most noticeable in these images, and they signify the presence of sulphur, oxygen, argon, and neon. These elements came from the star itself, and gas and dust from the region around the star are intermingled with it. The image below highlights some parts of the Cassiopeia A SNR. 1 shows tiny knots of gas comprised of sulphur, oxygen, argon, and neon from the star itself. 2 shows what’s known as the Green Monster, a loop of green light in Cas A’s inner cavity, which is visible in the MIRI image of the SNR. Circular holes are outlined in white and purple and represent ionized gas. This is likely where debris from the explosions punched holes in the surrounding gas and ionized it. 3 shows a light echo, where light from the ancient explosion has warmed up dust which shines as it cools down. 4 shows an especially large and intricate light echo known as Baby Cas A. Baby Cas A is actually about 170 light-years beyond Cas A. Image Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, Danny Milisavljevic (Purdue University), Ilse De Looze (UGent), Tea Temim (Princeton University) The JWST’s MIRI image shows different details. The outskirts of the main shell aren’t orange and pink. Instead, it looks more like smoke lit up by campfire flames. Seeing the NIRCam image (L) and the MIRI image (R) tells us about the SNR and the JWST. First of all, the NIRCam image is sharper because of its higher resolution. The NIRCam image also appears less colourful, but that’s because of the wavelengths of light being emitted that are more visible in Mid-Infrared. In the MIRI image, the outer ring is lit up more brightly than in the NIRCam image, while the MIRI image also shows the ‘Green Monster,’ the green inner ring that is invisible in the NIRCam image. Image Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, Danny Milisavljevic (Purdue University), Ilse De Looze (UGent), Tea Temim (Princeton University) The Hubble Space Telescope, the Spitzer Space Telescope, and the Chandra X-Ray Observatory have all studied Cas A. In fact, Spitzer’s first light image back in 1999 was of Cas A. This X-ray image of the Cassiopeia A (Cas A) supernova remnant is the official first light image of the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The bright object near the center may be the long-sought neutron star or black hole that remained after the explosion that produced Cas A. Image Credit: By NASA/CXC/SAO – http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/1999/0237/, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=33394808 The Hubble has imaged Cas A too. This image is from 2006 and is a composite of 18 separate images. While interesting and stunning at the time, the JWST’s image surpasses it in both visual and scientific detail. This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image provides a detailed look at the tattered remains of Cassiopeia A (Cas A). It is the youngest known remnant from a supernova explosion in the Milky Way. Image Credit: NASA, ESA, and the Hubble Heritage (STScI/AURA)-ESA/Hubble Collaboration. Acknowledgement: Robert A. Fesen (Dartmouth College, USA) and James Long (ESA/Hubble) The JWST’s incredible images are giving us a more detailed look at Cas A than ever. Danny Milisavljevic leads the Time Domain Astronomy research team at Purdue University and has studied SNRs extensively, including Cas A. He emphasizes how important the JWST is in his work. “With NIRCam’s resolution, we can now see how the dying star absolutely shattered when it exploded, leaving filaments akin to tiny shards of glass behind,” said Milisavljevic. “It’s really unbelievable after all these years studying Cas A to now resolve those details, which are providing us with transformational insight into how this star exploded.” The post JWST Delivers A Fantastic New Image Of Supernova Remnant Cassiopeia A appeared first on Universe Today.
