I always feel like his kindness towards children does reflect his true character well. Both notable incidents are intense moments but his reactions well. With sonya sister feels super kind and sweet hes so sweet to her and the burning building will sound silly but he was also altruistic enough to save them himself which is still crazy to me. What more must be written to show you his altruistic core. What else

'there are people out there who are just as scared as you are' are you including the people your candidate has funded a genocide against? are you including the people Israel targets and opresses with the US regularly funding its crimes against humanity? the people who cant just go have a snack and talk to their friends because they watch their friends be murdered and theyre facing starvation? are you including the people you called the genocide of as a necessary sacrifice and something thats a 'lesser evil'? do you take into account their fear and trauma for a year of nonstop bombings, drones, missiles, shootings, invasions, etc?

'the world is going to be tense' its already fucking tense, you people just dont give a shit about anyone that isnt white or cant play into your ultimate victim complex to excuse your eager participation in genocide. you cant call for people to just 'survive' when you helped put a heavy asterisk next to who exactly expected to stay living if your war criminal wins.

watched the kdrama celebrity over the last few days. was hooked from the first few seconds bc the EDITING in the show, & just the cinematography in general is on a whole nother fuckin level, man.

also, just. a really great show in general. v good at building suspense & throwing loops & very nice themes/takeaways. also just a rly interesting way to convey those themes/takeaways.

i think the only issue we had w it was the romance, but. eh. it wasn't so bad that it took away from the ample amount of good shit in the show.

def recommend it!! especially to anyone who really enjoyed the glory bc it has v similar themes.

"Contributing to the delinquency of one of your own students, Mr. Ghast?" August chuckled as Beau came around to refill both Dorian and August's glasses (the Burke patriarch having decided to be daring enough to have a glass of wine with dinner). Smiling as slyly as the young master, Beau replied, "Only here and there-I knew what Mr. and Mrs. Gracey expected of their son, and so I tried to keep him in the classroom as much as I could, learning the violin, French, cursive, all lessons they wanted me to teach him...but what good was having a young friend on the estate if they couldn't play together?"

"A very good point," August admitted-all work and no play never did a young mind any good, he felt, and so he could get behind Beau allowing his young charge to run free and enjoy his childhood, especially with his grandson. It had to have been a pleasant change of pace for the both of them, given the lives they both led.

"And besides, Dorian didn't need my help in his delinquency," Beau chuckled. "Even before he met Randall, he was always very clever at sneaking out when I had my back turned and taking off down the hall to find some sweets and hole up somewhere I couldn't find him. Between the two of them, Dorian was easily the brains of the operation."

"Guilty as charged!" Dorian grinned, raising his hand as he added, "If anything, Randall did his best to keep us out of trouble, while I was the one trying to make trouble in the first place!"

This is technically a Diana's age poll but I framed it partially around Julia's rescue because that's the event I need to contextualize and whether or not Diana is a thing yet is p important for my purposes. I would keep the Pérez run and postcrisis continuity in mind when answering this bc that's when this is relevant but I'd keep in mind that even though Diana is very young there (like early 20s) we don't know I don't think if she ages differently as a child (esp as a themysciran AND being made from clay) and in some versions she is older than she looks and was made earlier

You have like single-handedly brought me back into byler. I spent so much time hating it because I just didn’t really like season 3 I was super disappointed by it and then everyone constantly portrayed mike as this like bad boy with mean intentions and I was done with it but you have way better character analysis that I personally think aligns more with how the suffer brothers are actually writing.

I still sometimes like to look at explorations of them not getting together or growing apart because I like angst and hurt/comfort but you’ve brought me back and it’s honestly way more fun :)

season three was whiplash for A LOT of people, myself included. i remember my outrage had always been rooted in a sense of confusion, because if you're just watching the show in a superficial manner like most casual viewers do, then it's so easy to just write it off as a really weird, jarring, and out of character narrative decision that came out of nowhere and way too late in the game. it doesn't help at all that they're all extremely tight-lipped about the plots in the show, including obvious ones like will's sexuality, and that season three was more show than tell unlike previous seasons.

it's only when you pause and start to actually consider and take in everything as a whole that you go "oh, okay. i get it now." and those interpretations are much more cohesive with the heart of stranger things and the journeys and beliefs of all of these characters involved than "oh they suddenly made mike a jackass and removed all depth and don't give a single shit about him or will and el anymore lol."

and that's not even going into how that lazy idea ignores things like basic storytelling, set design, costuming, cinematography, the soundtrack, editing, things that the duffers themselves have said, and more.

stranger things touches on a lot of heavy things and does have depth. people think because it's funny, fun, colorful, and has a lot of cgi, that it's a show on par with something on the cw, but it really isn't. every character has their moment and every character is on their own distinct path. it's all right there in the plain text of the show, but alas... the wait time between seasons and sheer volume of material can be overwhelming for most. that, and media literacy is in the pits, so. sigh.
