Maybe they are long-time friends, so he knows that Y/N will take care of him. Or maybe Y/N was some random neighbor that Jim just had a feeling would help him, and this has become a tradition now. Either way, his bumbling accidents have made them come closer ^^ (Bonus points if Y/N is a nurse/doctor. Either currently practicing or retired)

"Jesus christ Jim, I- Where's your hook??" When he just kind of mutters something with a mad grin (The only word you made out was elepants), you want to smack yourself. He's lost so much blood he's probably seeing elephants in your living room right now. If he even recognises your livingroom. "Come on- Sit down, sit down, sit down." You sit him down on the couch then step over his legs and rush to grab the medical kit; Your heart racing.

This man- is insane. You honestly think that he must be part mutant, you swear. Or he's just really stubborn. Either way though, he needs to be tested. Maybe the government will pay you for him.

Not that you're frustrated, though- you're glad he is what he is, because otherwise he would be 6 feet under ground and that would break your heart. But, still... damn. Returning to the living room with the kit, you quickly step over his legs again, stretched out under the coffee table, so that you can set up next to him.

Flicking the kit open, you immediately grab out wipes, surgical sutures, and betadine. In his delirious state he still manages to put his good hand on your knee and squeeze- forcing you to pause. You take a deep breath, and glare at his face. A gentle glare. Some bite to it, sharp, but mostly just fond.

"... Goddamnit Jim, don't make me miss that." Leaving the hand there, you shift slightly to get closer to him, using your teeth to rip the wipe packet open. Spitting it off to the side, you pick it out. "Stay with me, alright?"

"'Right... "

That night you think you got a good... 3 hour of interrupted sleep? You were constantly getting up to check that his bleeding hadn't started again, or that he was breathing, and then to chat with him when started to come back; Just to keep him awake.

Turns out he went back to Blackwater- shocker. When you glared at him he just shrugged and gave a weak laugh.

Yawning, you sit down next to him again for the millionth time that night, and hand him a mug as you cover your mouth with your empty hand. You watch him take it and peer into it, look unsure, sniff it, and look even more unsure. "Sweetheart... what is this?"

"Rum." You say quickly, managing a straight face.

He looks at you like, 'oh really?', like he's suggesting that you're a liar - which you are, its just water, - , and you nod. "You're not lying to me for my health or something silly like that?"

"I would never."

"Mhmm... " Still suspicious, Jim takes a gulp- and immediately makes a disappointed face; Settling down against the cushions behind them stained blood red as you give a grin. "Ugh- betrayal."

"And you will drink it all." You say sternly, crossing your legs and sitting up straighter. "You lost a lotta blood; You need it. Doctor says."

There's a tiny grin in the corner of his mouth despite getting bossed around, rolling his eyes. "Oh, fine... if doctor says... "

As he watches your TV, gradually finishing the mug of water, you cant seem to take your eyes off of him. Watching carefully for any ripped stitches or signs of internal bleeding... wondering if he's too cold still, because he was ice cold to the touch when he got here and despite the blanket he accepted from you you're still concerned he may get sick on top of this, considering taking him to the hospital despite the bill you're bound to get stuck with, worrying about him leaving on his own later.

You know he has to, he doesn't live here and he cant start - you love him, you do. You think he's the only person in the world who can make you so happy, and he probably is. But he's also insane, and a pain in the ass that you just could never live with no matter how hard you tried, - but that doesn't mean you stop worrying.

"You know~... Staring is rude, pumpkin."

"I am looking at you in a completely professional sense. I am your doctor." You insist, a slow grin spreading across your face.

"Mhm, sure you are." Turning his head from the screen to set you with a mischievous glare to which you rolled your eyes an finally looked away.

"Keep looking at me like that and I'm gonna kiss you." Its true. That look from Jim has made you kiss him before, and other things besides- and you don't need that right now.

"Ah, well, for fairness sweetheart if you remember- I'm not the one who stopped that." There's a pang in your heart at that, because its true; Jim never wanted to break up and he's consistent in reminding you that it was a mistake on your part - and he's waiting for you to come back, - , but you just sigh, shaking your head.

"Drink your water, old man"

Slowly he looks away from you again, touching the mug to his mouth with a cheeky twinkle in his eye. "... Yes ma'am."

From under the blanket his good hand slips carefully and sets on your thigh, and you sigh again; Crossing your arms.

But you don't remove it.

Okay, say MC has been a bit of a scaredy cat with horror movies. Easily jumpscared, squeaking at each creepy creak in the dead of night, jumping like a frightened cat with its back haunched up from a sudden surprise from behind, etc.

And say the ROs have known MC is always like this. So MC is easily scared of horror movies, no big deal........

Then they discover MC's aroused from fear somehow. Like the suspension bridge effect? Maybe it's mingling fear and arousal for MC, just an unexpected response or the fact MC somehow finds the killers hot (Jason Voorhes, Michael Myers, etc).

How would the ROs feel upon discovering this tidbit? (And who would, and could, pull off a killer costume to try and seduce MC into a little roleplay? XD)

He'll do a little recon. Which one does MC find the hottest, is it Jason's biceps? The voice of Ghostface, which partly works for them? …How about Pyramid Head? Cam is almost positive he can pull off that outfit. Ya know what doesn't matter. He will try it all in one go.

He's going to use this knowledge on a date night, let MC think they're home alone when he sneaks up behind them, and maybe play a little game of cat and mouse. Just the sight of MC being on edge in more than one way would be enough to have him fold, but he'll make sure MC is satisfied first.

💙 G - They have to sit with it and let the idea digest. Then they would begin making a list because G is just like that. They would write down which killer MC prefers, and determine what characteristics it could be. G would then even go so far as to rank which ones they like.

They would "unwillingly" (very willing don't let them lie) don a costume, they'll attempt it…just this once. It would be awkward because G tries to remain in character, but that gets forgotten about halfway through.

They would understand the idea of finding someone dangerous hot, because when they would argue with MC back in the day…they had the same thought. "MC could kick my ass…hot."

MC should try it out on G, would probably work.

💚 Kara - Thinks it is adorable. Would tease MC about their little crush on the killer, Kara will use this knowledge against MC. Easily.

She'll get consent from MC first and foremost. (Consent is sexy!)

So, the next time MC thinks Kara is going to be her dommy self in the bedroom, they're not wrong. But Kara will kick it up a notch and will spend far too much money on costumes and props.

💛M - Wait...really? You're not yanking my chain or whatever right?

MC: No. I'm serious.

M chews their lip for a solid minute, debating what to say before deciding the best course of action is shoving a pillow in front of their face and telling MC they too think they can be hot.

M would love to roleplay with MC....but M is just a little bit skittish. They love horror but they would get to scared and all that hard work to get them in the mood would be lost in an instant. They would buy the costumes in vain...but maybe next Halloween they can dress up? M will be so sad about not being able to fulfill that fantasy.

💜Isaac - On the one hand, they would think it's hot that MC is turned on by it. It's unexpected, and they like their partner being turned on. Plus, Isaac could really pull the costume off. But they do better say, as an Incubus than as Michael Myers. They wouldn't attempt it, but they would attempt some form of roleplay.

He's not putting it on because he thinks it will work, he needs a costume for Halloween! He's not walking in the hallway with the lights off sneaking up behind you, he's getting into character! Listen, he's just wearing the costume to break it in. Like new shoes!

"Ohh, why Mr. Villain, is that a weapon in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" MC quips, wiggling their backside against Ardent.

"That's my phone!"

"Really? Yeah, guess you're right. It does feel bigger."

"You brat! That's my..."

This idea, like many others, has been sitting in my notes for some time, and just the other day my friend and I discussed it (and we will obviously continue this, as always) Honestly, I don't remember where it all originally came from, but relatively recently this idea came to another friend of mine in a chat, then I remembered the notes and... now the post is in front of you!

What if Antinous had a younger brother? Okay, this idea has been developing for a long time and is still developing, but for now we have such a number of ideas for, probably, a new AU

• The younger brother was essentially supposed to be the same age as Telemachus. (And you should remember this, you will find out why exactly ;) )

• His name, like Aphemachus, not accidental, but again has its own meaning. We thought for a long time about what to call it so that it would be cool and interesting, the very first option wasn't particularly difficult - Evrynous (there was supposed to be a joke here, but I don't know how to present it correctly in english, but you'll get the gist as you read) , but for now we have settled on "Clamalycus ". Now for the explanation (MY FAVORITE PART AAA) Everything again comes from two greek words "Κλάμα" and "Λύκος", meaning "Crying" and "Wolf", and as a result we have "Crying wolf"! Wolf, because well, it sounds menacing and we've all heard (not) enough "Wolf" in LW that my co-writer and I couldn't resist making that reference. And crying refers to his constant behavior

• Yes, the younger brother cried a lot since birth, in absolutely any situation and for a long time, and very heart-rendingly. This habit remained with him, even when he grew older. He quarrels with someone - shouts and cries, he is offended by Antinous - shouts and cries, he fight with someone - SHOUTS AND CRIES. He cries not because of sadness, but aggressively, if I may say so.

Someone: *thinks it's a special fighting tactic to confuse the enemy and defeat him, respects the boy* Clam: *just can't hold back tears and is always crying* EM... YES, THAT'S,DAMN, IT!

• Antinous and his father, Eupeithes, also had a long decision about what to name the infant. Father was thinking of something majestic, referring to someone great, but with the same particle "lycus".

Eupeithes: hmm...how about Heraclycus? No-no... Proclycus! No, Autolycus is perfect!

Little Antinous, who, after 7 hours of his brother's crying, is ready to either hit his head against the wall, or hit his brother's head against the wall: What??? "Autolycus"?!?! With such a cry that deafens all of kingdom, he is the only real Clamalycus!

• Yes, the childishly irritated comment unexpectedly pleased the father, which is why they settled on this name for the baby and the baby himself responded only to this name, so yeah XD

• And yes, there were moments when Antinous actually considered killing his little brother, simply cause the crying was so unbearable. But he never did this, but often hinted at it, no, even said it outright, so that his brother would be afraid of him and wouldn't cry and anger him (and this, naturally, didn't work)

• Also, for some inexplicable reason, these two are always arguing, cursing each other and wishing to die soon. They are like fire - no one knows who lit the flame of hatred first, no one knows how long it will burn and no one knows how to put it out. Even their father couldn't make them become friends, so every morning they start not with "Good morning", but with "I HATE YOU!", " OH, NOOO, I HATE YOU, YOU LITTLE CRYING SHIT!", " WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF I HAD STRANGLED YOU IN YOUR OWN CRADLE", " WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF YOUR FRIENDS HAD CUT YOUR THROAT!".

Clamalycus: *Getting ready to go somewhere* Antinous: Be so kind, little bastard, and die somewhere, tripping over the first stone. Clamalycus, mimicking: "Be so kind, little bastard, and die somewhere, tripping over the first stone. Me-me-me..." (๑•̀ㅂ•́)

• They reminded me of Michael and the crying boy from the FNAF series, but with a more intense and aggressive relationship. And then my best friend remembered Belphegor with Rasiel and said that they reminded me of them in some way (and then I started re-watching this old miracle. WHY IS SQUALO SO BRUTAL-)

If you had to choose your top five favourite marauders era characters and ships, what would they be?

This question was actually so hardddd haha and I feel like you could ask me again in a month and my answer would be different bc I’m such a multishipper that… yeah xD but for now here it issss :

Fave characters :

1. James Potter : mhm I love myself an arrogant goofball who’s actually smarter than people give him credit for, who’s got so much love he’s impulsive with it and hurts the ones he loves, who doesn’t know what to do with the loneliness that grips him sometimes, who defines himself by his ability to help people, who rarely allows himself to express himself negatively (ex : sadness/anger/frustration) because if there’s one thing that he fears the most, it’s hurting people. Plus, he hasn’t got any trauma or anything so why should he complain, yk?

Basically I love a good flawed James, and the sort of character where you wouldn’t expect him to have issues yk

2. Sirius Black : I mean… cmon do I even need to explain? ‘Cause if I start idk when I’ll stop, like literally. Ive had a crush on this character since I was eleven and never grew out of it, its almost embarrassing if it wasn’t completely justified (and the only reason he’s not number one is just because I write him less than James so I feel like I know him less intimately but like if you’d have asked me before I started writing I’d have put him number one for sure)

3. Regulus Black : !!!!! sorry but indoctrinated younger ‘abandoned’ (in between quotes bc he was not Sirius’ responsibility and Sirius was right to save himself but it’s also very normal for regulus to feel that way etc etc… we know the drill) sibling who’s faced with sudden delusion about this superior figure he’s followed/served, everything he’s lost in the process, and who redeems himself by going on this suicide mission that ends up being useless? (And unknown by Sirius AHHHH.) The guy is literally so smart and technically such a loser bc he doesn’t serve much for the plot and that’s what compelled me so much the first time I read hp 😭 he’s so tragic I love it

4. Narcissa Black : younger sibling; once again similar pattern to regulus but she survived, she’s so smart I’m, like, shaky in the knees, (esp i love female characters who do what they have to do to survive), she’s powerful too, and jkr is shit at writing female characters and I will never not be pissed abt it but I do think cissa was very compelling (+ Helen McCrory’s acting game was sooo perfect), very protective of her family and will stop at nothing to protect them, and that’s a value I respect so much. I will say, in general, any member of the black family is very compelling to me. Bellatrix would come right after narcissa in terms of fave from that family.

5. Barty Crouch Jr : listen if you know me, you know I’m… idk how to define myself actually, but I like unhinged stuff so. This is like. Peak unhingedness. Paired with intelligence bc we know canonically that man was smart af, and daddy issues? Dark hair, too? You just described my type. He’s even more compelling in tragic storylines (like past bartylus and barty joining Voldemort for regulus and then faced w the delusion and the grief? Gut wrenching) so yup.

Favorite pairings :

1. Moonshine (remus/james) : I know this sounds weird but a certain fanfic re wrote my brain chemistry and ever since then I’ve been obsessed. I just think they’re so tragically beautiful together. They’re both very selfless beings that just give and give and never prioritize themselves and together it’s a mess. They keep hurting each other because they’re so selfless, they’re not very good at reading each other and they let their insecurities get the best, they’re both frightened of how much they love, of the other not wanting them, of needing to « tame » their emotions. I love them.

2. Prongsfoot : FUCKING FOAMING AT THE MOUTH ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Together they’re. They. Just. I hate them bc of how much I love them if that makes sense. They’re everything. A law of the universe and whatnot. I love everyyyy fucking version of them. They make me cry they make me scream they make me smile they make me laugh, they’re literally my comfort ship.

3. Jegulus : they’re kind of the pairing that made me join the fandom, and though I don’t read them as much as I used to, they’ll always make me so soft. Enemies to lovers? Yeah, well I’m not immune yk. Best friend’s brother? Even better. Tragic and doomed? Yeah sign me the fuck up. I will say I like them just as much when it’s jegulily, but that’s also because I think poly relationships are so complex and compelling.

4. Moonwater : and not platonic haha, i have to say that basically i ship anyone who’s very smart imo with regulus, and Remus passes the test. Plus he’s also introverted, a book nerd, done with James and Sirius so i feel like they could bond very easily. I prefer them in a non canon sitting tho for some reason, but yeah I’m. So fond of them. They get into heated debates. Even their ship name is so dear to me because, that’s like both their biggest fears and pairing them in one name feels like they can overcome them if they’re together ? 😭 it’s so sweet (plus, it allows me to ship prongsfoot on the side lmfao)

5. Regulily : same reasoning as up there but like they’re probs the only het pairings that I really really love. i never expected them to be so important (but *cough cough* disintegration happened…) but honestly they make a lot of sense? I feel like Regulus would be more confident with Lily, and Lily would feel more calm with Regulus? They’re that scary hot powerful quiet couple yk. Anddd they can bond over siblings angst lmao.

leaping and hopping on a moonshadow by @lunarblazes - a fantasy au by luna my beloved! pearl suddenly gains magical powers and goes on a quest to find her long-lost friend grian who might know what's happening to her. she meets a lot of familiar faces along the way!

Recall by @redwinterroses - hey, i was the artist for this one! :D mumbo goes missing, so grian and scar search for him. they find that grumbot has been up to some... things along the way. the fic isn't finished but i think the chapters red put out is worth a read if you don't mind leaving off on a cliffhanger because it really is super interesting

dramaturgy by wormcity - a universe where gem and pearl join in a season 7 that was never finished. mumbo became the mayor, but the turf war went so very wrong afterwards. admittedly i have not finished reading this yet because ummm short on time xD but it's super interesting with a lot of layers of drama(turgy hahaha)!

a body is an object by ruffboi - grian is a mimic, and pearl's arrival in s8 shakes him up. she hasn't seen him in a while and is quite upset to learn that the grian she knew died a long time ago. a great read for familial connections and conflict of friendships!

Goatman and the Rift by TheDepressedCanary - doc's eldritch powers start acting up when the rift appears. what shenanigans will ensue?

late at night, when the stars don't look quite right by @lunarblazes - an excellent empires s1 and hermitcraft crossover longfic, where grian lands into the server and is discovered by pearl! very great worldbuilding and relationships, i especially love the dynamic between gri and pearl and pearl and gem :D

every new discovery is just a reminder by amaranthinecanicular - grian begins pulling alternate versions of the hermits from the life series into the server. he does save a lot of them, but at what cost? it does end on a cliffhanger but this is genuinely one of the most captivating oneshots i've ever read... argghhh

The Fair and the Brave and the Good by @slashmagpie - an afterlife smp longfic centered around the shelby, scott, and sausage. i have never watched afterlife smp before in my LIFE and this is still one of my favorite pieces of literature ever. the characters and worldbuilding is impeccable and perfect if you like something dark with themes of hope and renewal.

Two Can Keep a Secret (If One of Them is Red) by anonymous secretmcblog - a 3L oneshot! ren suspects grian has stockholm syndrome with his pact to stay with scar, but his expectations are wrong. a truly excellent read and one of them first fics i've read! i still go back to reread it from time to time

dog at the door by fluffy_papaya & iamsolarflare - a longfic where doc and ren take a trip on a van on their way to s8. ren, however, is not quite himself, and doc has to learn to befriend the red king.

the beehive state by amaranthinecanicular - a dsmp oneshot after wilbur moves to utah. tommy visits him, and the two reconnect. i have to say i stopped following dsmp a long time ago but this fic made me BAWL. i don't even think you need to know any of the characters that well to really enjoy just how amazing the writing itself is

Can't Go Back (This Time) by @duckmumbo (musicaltvbooks) - soup group goes end raiding and accientally finds themselves in afterlife smp. nothing goes wrong, surely! also admittedly i havent finished reading this either but roy i swear i will. this is a great read nevertheless and the soup group dynamic is impeccable!

TommyInnit's unbeatable method of avoiding sudden death by eneliii - on the train of dsmp fics, this is the superhero au longfic that inspired my own hc superhero au, vdhau. it's a lot of funny shenanigans with tommy and his friends. the fic does take a dark turn at the end, but that can be skipped entirely (as said by eneli herself) if you just want the wholesome aspects.

Like this is exactly how I imagine them to grieve for Suguru and I love that so much can be left unsaid but the reader and Satoru and Shoko both just know. What they have isn't healthy but it's the only thing they can have. A happy and healthy relationship with someone else would just simply not work. They are both too fucked up for that.

One Piece Chapter 1133 - Initial Thoughts

And we're back again

Grateful the scans came out today this time around, if it were tomorrow I'd have to wait till Sunday evening since I've got relatives to visit and such, it is that time of year

But today is One Piece day, so it's time to check what the chapter has to offer now that we've properly set down in Elbaf

Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too

And the big reveal for the sword thief in Yamato's cover story is...Holdem...the guy Luffy could beat with ease

Tama is captured again and Speed was caught by a fire attack by Kamijiro (the lion head with the same name as the MHA ship that I like ¬_¬)

Seems like Speed always seems to catch strays in Wano too, and where tf is Shinobu? Not like Yamato should struggle with him, in fact Tama should be showing the fruits of her training by not getting caught

The actual chapter begins with a flashback of Ohara, the evacuation ship exploding

But the narration is a forgery, Spandine speaking to the media to pin it on young Robin

A cruel montage follows to remind us that Robin's childhood was rife with cruelty and sadness, being called so many things that were the opposite of who she truly was

Also a reminder how media controls the court of public opinion, random people wishing death upon a child

The reason for this flashback though also reminds us of the things Saul told her - as if we could forget - which is also present

We also see a scene of Robin checking a book of the world, with Ohara no longer marked in position, she writes it in herself but gets grabbed

Back in the present, anchors drop on the Great Eirik as the crew - likely the ones who never went to Skypeia - marvel at the sea of clouds

As they anchor on the western port they have a heart welcome waiting for them

Lilith and Bonney having the same happy pose is cute

Luffy and Co also sail down, with a unique longboat of their own

The ship uses island clouds on its paddles to row through the air, which is quite ingenious

It's called the Svalr which means 'cool' in ancient Norse, in terms of temperature, but may also be a nod to Svalinn, the legendary Norse Shield that blocks the sun enough to protect the realms form its intense heat

Seems Elbaf also has consistently perfect climate, which it seems Vegapunk was probably working on with their temperature regulation in Egghead

Lilith also marvels at the coexistence of technology, which does make me feel like she may stay here

Nami makes a note of Robin's haircut, having expected her to do something like it

Luffy also reunites with Hajrudin - who also still calls Usopp 'Usoland' XD - as he's introduced properly to the New Giant Warrior Pirates

Rodo is at the back chained and crucified, as even Hajrudin omits him from the numbers

Luffy does remind them that he didn't want subordinates, but Hajrudin reminds him back that it's their choice to make

He also praises Luffy for making emperor, noting that news of Big Mom's defeat reached here too

Nami seems curious about singling out Big Mom - especially since Luffy didn't actually beat her, wonder if Kid is indeed here if that'd give him brownie points - as Gerd gives her the short rundown of their familiarity

Yeah cannibalism would be something the overwhelming majority of nations would deem unforgivable...

The rest of the giants are ready to feast though, and Luffy is happy to oblige

Before they rush off however Robin asks Luffy, which snaps them back on the Svalr

Robin wanted to go meet Saul and was happy to go alone, but Luffy is insistent and the crew want to come too

With Gerd steering, she tells the crew that Saul did want to show Robin the library

Luffy's reasonings are pure, feeling honour bound to meet someone who looked after a member of his Nakama - Robin does wonder where he got that sentiment but it's more a matter of Luffy's character

Also Bonney's along for the ride, Robin's taken over the paternal warmth figure for her in the meantime

Hajrudin and Broggy agree to prep and delay the feast for their return, as they intend to bring Saul back with them

Usopp asks about how learned the giants are, as Gerd reveals that Saul is their history teacher but also teaches them about certain books

Interesting to think that upon his debut he regarded Elbaf giants as savages

The group arrive at 'Warrior Springs' another marvelous landscape with waterfalls, near it is the 'Owl Library'

The springs was formed from broken parts of Treasure Tree Adam, which means that the tree does break off naturally, wonder if that's the parts that make up the Sunny?

Luffy is ready to charge in, but Nami holds him back, noting that this is Robin's thing

Alas, she hears what we heard two chapters ago, Saul's fallen and won't get up

Luffy, Sanji and Usopp are annoyed by the twist of fate, while Chopper goes straight into doctor mode

Saul's body is seen by the beach, but Robin only laughs to herself and says she'll go to him alone

It's just like how they first met, cowboy hat and all beached up

Once again he screams upon her approach, failing to scare her once more

It's still surreal this guy is alive after 22 years, very noticeable scars on his face

Saul was playing, unsure of how to break the ice so choosing this way

Robin notes he has the same funny laugh too

Saul joins the group of peg-legs with Aokiji, Shiki, Inuarashi and Zeff, probably snapped off from the ice

Saul pulls Robin up close to get a good look at her, noting that she looks like Olvia - prompting Robin to remember her mother

Saul asks if she heard Vegapunk's broadcast, she heard bits but confirmed the rest via newspapers, since she was kinda in the thick of it

Saul notes that Vegapunk spoke of Ohara's legacy, the voices that were intended to be silenced, and commends their sacrifice for doing so

Robin however notes his scars, reminding him of his own sacrifices

Seems Saul survived by the fires of Ohara melting his ice and sweeping him into the water

We've seen Aokiji freeze parts of an ocean that stay frozen for a month, honestly I doubt that Saul just happened to defrost and fall into the water

He goes on a little rant about the negative press Robin got, but Robin stops him and asks if he's gonna praise her for being alive

Pressed against him in a big hug, Saul does just that, praising her for staying alive for 22 years, for being a survivor and being glad they could meet again

Robin breaks down in the hug, and from afar so does the crew barring Luffy, Jinbe and Zoro

and we end the chapter on a smiling Luffy, but also a break

Not much you can say about that chapter other than it being nice and sweet. There were of course hesitations that Saul's survival would slightly undermine Robin's struggle but having someone who was there from her past tell her that they're proud of her for enduring is quite the catharsis.

There has to be more to come with Saul since he's yet to meet the friends he foretold would be there for Robin, it's also quite symbolic that this rings true even for meeting up with Saul, they didn't let her go alone - Luffy, low on energy and hungry, delayed a feast with giants so that Robin didn't have to go alone! That's how big a deal it is to them. Also this will be another D. for Luffy to meet.

We're getting small bits here and there of Elbaf's worldbuilding too, there are some loose threads to deal with in Elbaf and with the crew - such as Kuma, what to do with Bonney and Lilith, Vivi's secret message etc. - but for now we can let things be nice until shit hits the fan.

To think, almost a year ago we were bawling about Kuma's backstory, now we're tearing up for Saul and Robin's reunion.

Dude I finally read the neon void and I’m going a little crazy.

I just kinda really really love it. I knew it was good but I didn’t expect it to be that good. So that was pleasantly surprising. I also for some reason didn’t expect to get Leo narrating for whatever reason but I’m so glad we did. It makes me so sad the misunderstandings the boys had when Leo’s being Leo but with a darker appearance (and being so unnecessarily aggressive with the remarks toward himself like baby no 😭)

I can’t exactly speak from experience but the way grief was written was so so nice. I guess I could be completely off base bc I have yet to experience that type of grief (the perks of not getting close to too many people I suppose) but it feels really realistic. I super appreciate it bc I’m gonna use it as an actual reference bc it’s written in a way that’s understandable? I guess? Like I didn’t really get the specifics of grief before and I guess I can’t really now, but I do have a better grasp I think. Ah it made me hurt a lot tho

I’m still kinda taking it all in but all of everything was just so so good. I would love to hear about all your favorite moments and aspects bc I feel a ramble on my bones but it needs to be awakened teehee

A reason I’m so obsessed with TNV is how Leo is characterized. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I LOVE crazy/insane characters Idk what it is about them but they always peak my interest. And the way @/sugarpasteltmnt writes Leo’s madness just feels so real!!! Insane characters + unreliable narrator (especially if it’s the insane character) = NCSDJHDSCNDJSJCN#NJISCDNDC I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!! The misunderstandings of the brothers is also written so incredibly well. Again, it just feels so real. Their theories of who Neon Void is, their greif, their reactions to the taunts, etc. is all so realistic dfhuncfeuhncefihncufehneuhfcn

Oh and I also want to mention this fic made me LAUGH OUT LOUD. That does not happen with me!!! Especially with a fic????? Unheard of. (Specifically it was the Highschool TV show chapter)

Another thing I really like is how Donnie is written!!! I don’t even know what specifically about it, it’s just perfect!!!

Yeah I know what you mean!! The greif is written incredibly well, and though I haven’t experienced a loss like that, it definitely seems like a valid and (like I’ve said above) realistic way for each of them to react. I think it definitely does give me a better grasp on how some people grieve as well!

Hmmmm more of my favorite moments and aspects let’s seeeeeee

OKAY WELL THE WHOLE SPACE ODDITY SCENE MAKES ME WANNA SOB AND DIE OF EXCITEMENT AT THE SAME TIME. ESPECIALLY, IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY SEEN IT, LOOK AT THIS ANIMATIC BY @bowandbrush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS PHENOMENAL!!!! I think a (small) part of this is I’ve realized when a song I know and like is referenced in a fic it makes me go “edcjhefncihednchdiencsidjncdeijnjicedniscdjnds”

The 2012 reference with the whole rap makes me EXPLODE (ESPECIALLY DUM DUM LEOS PART NEDCIJNCDEEIJDNCIJEDCNJIDENC STOP BEUNG SO MEAN TO YOURSELF BUD)

Literally every scene with Leo is so cinimatic I can’t ndeicndwuchsdnuhnd

Whenever Leo is talking with his brothers and feels their Ninpo and such is so heartwarming and tragic

Oh! I really like the detail of him HATING that Cassandra is like “a part of the family” because it makes sense (SHE WAS IN THE FOOT CLAN, FROM LEOS PERSPECTIVE WHY WOULD THEY TRUST HER!!?!?!)

The chapter when Mikey rips off his arm is fantastic (I really like Leo’s reaction!!!)

I’m trying to remember all these scenes rn but I think that’s all I’ll say for now

Books read in 2024: "Running close to the Wind" by Alexandra Rowland

First book I've read this year! XD Just haven't felt like reading books and getting into unfamiliar worlds/characters, but I was quite hyped for this book (Pirates! Queerness! Humour and Hilarity!) that I suddenly was in the mood to read it as soon as my preorder arrived.

I had such a great time reading this! The book is indeed hilarious and I laughed a lot throughout. The humour was right up my alley most of the time and I loved the running jokes. But what I also loved were the more serious aspects of the book, its commentary on politics and religion that are rarely elaborated upon (except for one exquisite speech towards the end) but that are always there, as well as the smaller and bigger character moments that hint at old trauma, dark pasts and deeper sadness.

The characters are a lot of fun, though main protagonist and PoV character Avra Helvaçi took a bit for me to warm up to. He is quite annoying and a bit of a trial at first, indeed a sopping wet cat of a man, but he grows on you so much, that you really start rooting for him (and his absolutely non-existend luck). His situationship with pirate captain Teveri az-Haffar is something no-one of sane mind would want to get involved in, so I guess that says something about third protagonist, Vintish monk Julian. XD Teveri is as brittle as Julian is gorgeous, but as a trio, they somehow make sense.

The rest of the crew also has some great characters (I especially liked long-suffering Oscar), and the rest of the supporting cast is entertaining and/or interesting as well (shout out to MVP Cat as well as Amita who is going through it).

I enjoyed the payoffs of some things that are mentioned earlier in the book, like the legendary cake competition or Avra's luck not playing along.

Highly recommended!

I'm now off to read A Taste of Gold and Iron, which has been sitting on my shelf since its release - now that I'm in the world and it's basically the prequel to this book, I feel like it's the perfect time for it.

Wouldn't mind seeing more stories set in this world as it's obvious there's been quite a lot of thought been put into the world building!

Aypierre's castle, What it meant.

As you read those lines, you may ask if i become mad, especially after my previous studies and for these person i will say : no worries, i'm not XD With a person i think as a friend, i'm currently making a rewinding session about QSMP (especially much more about Maxpierre / Furryduo/Forrestduo ) and in doing this, i began to see things to analyze. So let's go ? XD

I) What it was meant to be : a project.

a) The origins

At first, it was meant to be a vinary castle, to host a vinary project with Q!Baghera. It wasn't even meant to be built by himself but by Q!Foolish. But for a long time, his construction was delayed. For several reasons.

First of all, Q!Aypierre had to prepare the floor where it was supposed to be. And it take a long time for that. The project was also meant to be built AFTER Q!Foolish's Titan. And you ALL know here how long it took XDDDD And because of the third point, as much important as the other are : Q!Aypierre tendancies were not focused of this project, and much more on his machinaries and we know for sure he is a man of one project and not many at the same time XDDD And...... the vinary part became less effective with the vineyard he got (As he said himself : he already have a vineyard, why two ? ).

But time did his work (XD ) and slowly the project became one of the many Q!Aypierre said he will do, but never do, and the partnership with Q!Baghera and Q!Foolish were never brought back again.

But enough of history. XD

b) A show off for the others.

Of course, it was. A perfect way to show how wealthy he was and he absolutely used it multiples time, and even against Q!Tubbo. And he was planning to host events in it in where he was going to sell wine, too (he even had a skin made by people for that ).

It was also a show off, but for other reasons. The beginning of the building became the excuse he gave as how he used his time when people began to search for the culprit of the waystone's theft.

c) A place to stay, in a way XD

This point is much more a another headcanon fro Q!Aypierre, but i will say it. As we can often see, he rarely slept in his bed, in his house. It was really, really often in Aybase, even in a hole XDDD (A proof ? When Q!Max tried to give him a letter... He found him... locked up in a tiny place without a bed XD ). So, a place where he can sleep much more nearer than his house.

It's also the place he uses really often when his social battery is at 0 percent. He chose this place to not overwhelm people with his machines and their use of FPS, at first. but not only for that.

As we see there, at first it was just meant to serve a precise project and have a place to rest better than a hole. But, it became something much more valuable.

II) What it really became : his haven.

A pretentious title, i agree. But as we will see here, it really become its.

a) The place to rest

As we said before, he chose a place far from others for protecting their FPS. And at the same time the place chosen became the place he goes whenever he fell tired of talking to everyone and he can stay in this place a really long time without talking to other to the point that even his friends can not see him until they don't come in it. At first, it was Aybased and it still was but the castle became it, too.

It's also here we see him often goes to sleep in a real bed or on the roof of the castle. It's also mean he feels at ease here, enough to let himself sleep or meditate.

b) The place to calm his sadness and anxities

This place began, to be built to protect him for the accusations of waystones's theft..... And continue to be build to protect him... But this time from himself. For all the sadness and anxities he felt because his daugther wasn't there, his lover too,his machines were not working properly, no matter what he did and his violent dreams began to haunt him again.

As i say often, for me, there are three things that make him stable : Pomme, Q!Max and his machines. And During Pre Purgatory, he had NOTHING. It is also proved he tends to forget his pain by overworking himself in projects. Machines and the sysmetry wand came back but not the people he cares the most. So... he immerged himself in the castle. He only had the castle and his construction helped him to forget they weren't there. Building it helped him ease his mind. Its roof became also the way to see Q!Max when he took the excuse Q!Roier gave him about Q!Max absence.

To the point when he said he built a castle for Q!Max. And with the facts... it's not really false. He built a castle to not think about how sad and anxious he was because he was not there.

The castle began to become the fourth thing that help him. Going in help him calm down and if he were to loose it..... He will be very sad and angry.... As he is when Pomme, Q!Max and his machines are not there.

c) The place he can call home.

This point is a headcanon, but let's go. We know from what he dreamt about, that Q!Ayrobot was wandering alone and Cucurucho find him and promised him he will never be afraid, or no longer be in danger and that things will get better. And what's better for someone wandering alone endangered than finally finding a home ? And morever in this place there is..... Computer which absolutely help him too.

For Q!Aypierre, he has a house, yes. And a bed. But this bed keep reminding him of Q!Max, which wasn't here, or disappeared and his bed just became a place to sleep or to be rented. A place he never stayed too long in it even before and a house versus a castle..... Of course the castle win for someone who like so much shiny things like him.

d) A place build with hidden love

Oh, yes, there is love behind every wall and windows. Love for people that weren't there anymore (Gegg and all the eggs ), love filled with sadness for the person he loves who isn't there and it keep giving him will to build to control his thoughts, filled with projects.

He offered to the eggs huge statues of them in the garden, because of his affection for them. All of them. All of them were supposed to have one, at some point.

He was also wanting to organize a contest to decorate the castle for the eggs, wanting to fill the castle with company. He also offered to DanSir to stay in the castle.

It will also be his legacy to his daugther, if he happen to die, too.

He was also wanting to give a room to persons he loved the most in the castle : Q!Bad, Q!Pomme and he was also beginning to think of a future with Q!Max in it.

Oh yes, he was willing to live with him. At this point, the castle began to become promise of a future which will not have loneliness. And for someone who was talking to everyone but keep distance really often, wanting to share his life with an another or not wanting to be so alone as he was, it's really a progress. A sign that Q!Aypierre began to open up, much more to some person, but that he was willing to.

The castle is like him : shiny, clingy but hide really well his thoughts, and is filled with love, built with love like he is, filled with loneliess but try to become warmer.

This castle became his haven, the place he put his spirit to rest and let his love talk in hidden acts, when usually he is not able to properly say it to others. And..... It has consequences.

C) What it creates : the consequences of it

a) This place as his future

For Ayrobot, this place is also the promise of bring him back and promise of a place with happiness, too.

On the other end, as i said before, Q!Aypierre thinks of this place as his home, his future, the place where his new found family and him will be happy. It's also the place in which he feels at ease and in which he is safe. The place which help him to ease his pain, put back the memories he had.

He, along Q!Antoine didn't even want to leave this place. Because he doesn't even remember how the world were and how he was in. And he doesn't even know how. And after being tracked for so many years, to have a place to stay...... Is precious. For him, the outside world is something so blurry when he has happiness in his hands here.

b) This place as his links to past and people he loves

This place can help him recover his memory and his sanity too. It's also his legacy, the representation of the links he has with the eggs and Q!Max. Leaving it mean, let behind that, when he has so few things to keep him stable. Loose again his home when he doesn't event remember if he has one, somewhere else. In a way, leaving the person he loves too.

c) ....... and how it explain things

And...... This whole explanation for THIS point precisely XD

That's why thinking of leaving the castle was almost impossible for him. It meant abandon his happy life and its promises, abandon his dreams for something blurry, maybe going back to danger he fled, for Q!Ayrobot.

And more generally leaving this castle, mean leaving Quesadilla and abandon his daugther which he wasn't able to.

That's why without it and without Q!Max, he wasn't able to come back until Q!Bad helped him and Stonks and Muffins began.

That's also why wanting to destroy it the last day was also so important. Yes, it was a tribute to Q!Max because of the atomic bomb but it was also symbolic. A way to finally destroy what linked him so much to the island, accept the idea his home were never meant to be his home and was just a happy dream, a way to accept this place belo,g now only to past's ghosts who aren't there anymore, a way to finally accept there isn't anyone anymore to receive his legacy, a way to cut tie with the only link he has left with Quesadilla, leaving him only with memory of people he met here. And as we know now, they have tendacies to cut ties with..... a good show. With a lot of fire, clingy, destructive and shiny things.

So yes, this castle was so much more important it seems and it explains so much why some reactions.

Metamorphosis & Mutation: A Cedric the Sorcerer Playlist

My hand slipped and made a 2+ hour playlist. My challenge for myself was that I was not allowed to use *any* of the songs from the series.

If you know how much I love music, you know I love a good challenge. There are one or two songs that cuss in them. (Only one "f-bomb" from a Passenger song, but it's worth it because the song "Fairytales and Firesides" is beautiful. The line "We are bitter losers, snarling through our smiles" was just too perfect to pass up.)

"The Incident" and its immediate aftermath is represented by "The Sacrifice of Faramir" for ... reasons. It just felt perfect. Any LotR fans will likely understand that and where my mind was going with that one. (Surprising number of parallels between Sofia and Pippin, Cedric and Faramir, and Goodwyn and Denethor. Might make a post about this eventually. Due to the casting in movies, which don't get me wrong, overall I love, very few people remember (or know) that, in the novels, Pippin was 28 at the beginning of the book and turns 29 in Gondor near the end of the trilogy. Hobbits don't reach full cultural maturity, and are considered minors, until 33. Billy Boyd was actually the oldest of the hobbit actors. So, most people forget that/ don't know that fact. But, now you know! :D) (I may or may not have spent four years of my life researching these books and relationships in almost monastic levels of isolation except for when my [now] spouse and our mutual friends would drag me out my dorm room to ensure I ate and hydrated myself. The sad thing is I am only kind of hyperbolizing.) A note on the song "I Found" by Amber Run - that is meant platonically/ paternally. If people read anything else into that DON'T. Just DON'T. (For people who have read "In the Flares of the Sun," and continue to read it, this song will hit different. The whole idea of "I found love where it wasn't supposed to be, right in front of me, talk some sense to me." is just ... it hits. Platonically. It hits from two directions for folks who have read the chapter "First, Do No Harm." Honestly, this song has always given me *deep friendship* vibes more than anything else anyway. The first playlist I ever used it on was an adopted mother-daughter relationship in a dystopian novel I was writing. It was used right alongside "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan. So, if you want to know the vibes I get from this song, now you know. The kid was based on Thomas Paine so it was actually a "Common Sense" pun. ;D) "Show Me" by Idina Menzel is also intended platonically. I first heard that song on an Anna and Elsa tribute video so I've always thought of that song platonically. But, if you're gonna weird about either of those songs, just don't. With that out of the way, there are some very "me" choices in here. "This is the Moment" from Jekyll and Hyde was my *jam* in middle school. I almost broke my CD of the "dream cast album" with Anthony Warlow as Jekyll/Hyde playing it so many times on my CD player before I got an iPod. (I NEVER claimed I was not old, y'all. Also, I'm actually auditioning for the role of Jekyll/Hyde in December. XD) The fact that there is both Jason Robert Brown and Marianas Trench on this playlist is a very "me" choice. Also, yes, I did put two songs from the new Hunchback of Notre Dame with Michael Arden as Quasimodo on here. Don't *judge* me. (Made of Stone is a perfect song for Cedric, COME ON!) Also, if I chose to set Cedric's rant to Roland as "If It's True" from Hadestown. It is *my* prerogative to give my sad trash-panda this beautiful rant. If I wanna play that pre-dungeon moment as a little more justified because it felt a little more true than not ... it's *my* playlist. (Hadestown is based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The song "If It's True" is set just after Orpheus has just gotten his butt whooped by Hades and told that he's worthless, that he's basically lower than dirt, and that music and love are meaningless.) (1. I'm absolutely setting this playlist in the universe of "In the Flares of the Sun." So, mild spoiler, in the first verse of this song, for backstory about something that has only been implied so far, but is coming up in a future chapter. The spoiler is very blink and you'll miss it. It's like a line and a half of the song. But, it's there, and I did choose the song intentionally because of the backstory I built in the world of that fic/ other fics I'm planning for future. So, you'll get a brief glimpse into my brain. 2. But, let's be real:

So angry. Also that: "Tell me what to do" - so many different characters that could be directed towards.) But, this is also why I put the world's best anti-villain anthem that sounds like a Disney-princess "I want song" right before it. It's about the *juxtaposition.* It's about the *nuance.* (Cedric basically is Dr. Jekyll. Okay? It's probably why I love him. Jekyll/Hyde has long been a favorite character of mine.) Also, I'm obsessed with Collabro. Their covers are so good, and the story of how they came together is so supremely weird and serendipitous. Look them up. They do not disappoint. Also, "Chosen Family" is one of my favorite songs ever. I used the one where Rina Sawayama and Elton John sing together. Though, Rina Sawayama is the original writer. I love both versions, but I also just love Elton John so much, and I love the version where he sings with her. I hope y'all enjoy it too. I will spread the gospel of this song forever because I just love it. And, I had to end with the credit's song of "The Tigger Movie" - "Your Heart Will Lead You Home" - because that movie destroys me every single time I watch it. The end. That's my notes on this. There are a whole bunch of other songs I didn't cover. But, yeah. These are the ones I wanted to make notes on. This got really long. If you can't tell music is something of a special interest of mine. I managed to refrain from putting full blown oprea on here. You're welcome. I'm not sure exactly where I would have gone if I *had* decided to put opera on here. But, it's not an impossibility or something I wouldn't do, or haven't done, for other character playlists in the past. XD

Can i say the ost for this show as a whole in EVERY episode is absolutely sick and sounds so good i would listen to it on its own, but they also know how to dial it down and turn off the music for so much inpact its crazy, they did it with some apprentice arc scenes and haunted and such and it works so well to hear the atmosphere and suspense is perfect, i also like the ost that plays when the "dark versions" of star, cy and BB appear, its so minimal and impactful (i also like the konochrome no shading look they have) them talking is also pretty creepy

BB going inside trigon's ear and turning into a whale is so smart and also the "wet willie" he said he would give trigon XD

I knew slade teams up with them in this episode but it still feels weird! Also rob volunteered tovfind rae but honestly i think that BB has the closest bond with her and the little things he does through the series, and the penny he gave her, i dont ship them really at all but i feel like he has the closer bond and whole robin is my favorite and the leader, it would have made more sense for BB to go, and more emotionally impactful

Also dont say robin cant stay cuz he would easily beat the shadow titans but they could have done that and nobody would really care too much, they were defeated before by that robot that tried to beat cy in "only human" so shadows of themselves could definetly still proviide a problem with robin there, and it would have made no difference to how that scene could have went

Slade has a point, uf he gets a thing he wants and the end of the world is gonna happen anyway, he might as well take the deal.

Also i thought this whole time that "what he had lost" was gonna be his son or something cuz i didnt have any clue what it could be and drew on the tiny bit of deathstroke comic lore i knew but i was still skeptical, i was NOT expecting the skeleton tho, that seriously shocked me.

Him saying "The fringe benifits were quite enjoyable" and then panning on this scene is just:

Still think that BB going after raven would have felt more impactful, like sure, robin and raven have been in each other's minds or something and i feel like them being the main two in "birthmark" makes so much sense, but for this, i feel like it makes more sense for BB to go, he's spent the entire show getting to understand raven more deeply than any other character, and he has littlerally been inside her mind. I dont ship them at all but their strong platonic bond would have been perfect for this

Something i love about this show is that the titans' friendships is strong and genuine, they care deeply for eachother, truly want to connect to eachother, make sure each ither is okay, they believe wachother instantly when something us wrong and dint disregard eachother's feelings, nobody is ever the butt of the joke and nobody is made to feel bad on purpose by the others, even if they are all completely different from one another, and if it happens then they do their best to make the sincerest of apologies. Them being mad at each other is always coming from a place of frustration from wanting to hang out and enjoy each other's company but just not understanding how

Many kids shows make friends kinda hate eachother, always get on their bad sides, cant seem to stand each other, and always have one of the others as the butt of jokes (even teen titans go does this! D:) so i really love this show for that

"We'll be ready for him" is what cyborg said at the end of "haunted" which i guess goes to show the hope and trust they have in themselves and eachother

Again i would say BB would have worked a lot better for this last scene with raven instead of robin, since BB while being a bit childish, is still really emotionally intellegent! (I mean look at all his interactions with raven and terra!) And this little speach about raven having the most hope does sound like something beast boy would say more than robin (yes he is the leader, but it sounds more right in BB's voice), like, i can imagine vividly what it would be like with bb in robin's place and it makes so much more sense. I honestly wanna draw a version of the same events but with bb instead but thats so hard to do and would take forever sooo :/ thats only a maybe few pannels kinda thing MAYBE

TERRIFYER 3 WAS ASSSSSS IM SO SADDDDD (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥)

and its like, it sucks more cause theres certain parts of the movie that I LOVE and then the rest sucks so baddd. i LOVE Art, they absolutely did not do him dirty, and the actor slays so hard (in fact im wondering if he actually went to clown school cause hes a damn good clown), and the dream sequences go SO HARD, the creative direction with those are so fucking slay in every movie, but then the script is SO CHEESY and the horror is just goreeeee [CRIEZ] . The worst part about the script being plain bad is that I at least know the actor who played Johnathan and i know hes GOOD, like i LIKE him, but in this movie he SUX cause the script is shitty and he delivers it. like, the actors serve, but they serve a shit script! IM SO SAD (╥﹏╥) ... parts of it were funny tho thats fs, some of that clowning had me gigglin n shit. the double take he does when he sees santa and when the kids overwhelm him in the mall is perfect XD

addendum: i DO like it, though. like, i dont think its a like, *good movie* but i still like it a lot :)
