Since Jim-Balayla lives in America, and the health care system sucks out here, what if instead of going to the doctors whenever he is injured, he goes to Y/N?

Maybe they are long-time friends, so he knows that Y/N will take care of him. Or maybe Y/N was some random neighbor that Jim just had a feeling would help him, and this has become a tradition now. Either way, his bumbling accidents have made them come closer ^^ (Bonus points if Y/N is a nurse/doctor. Either currently practicing or retired)

LET ME RAISE YOU... Ex-Wife Y/N/Ex Husband Jim. Broke up cuz Jim's crazy and Y/N didn't wanna put up with it anymore. Legally they are still married (Maybe he wouldn't sign the pages, or he refused to pay the bill; Something like that), they just don't talk anymore or live together.

BUT... they are still very comfortable together and very heart eyed despite it all. Shh. And if Jim gets himself gnawed on by a giant croc... Y/N will let him in immediately, no questions asked!

"Jesus christ Jim, I- Where's your hook??" When he just kind of mutters something with a mad grin (The only word you made out was elepants), you want to smack yourself. He's lost so much blood he's probably seeing elephants in your living room right now. If he even recognises your livingroom. "Come on- Sit down, sit down, sit down." You sit him down on the couch then step over his legs and rush to grab the medical kit; Your heart racing.

This man- is insane. You honestly think that he must be part mutant, you swear. Or he's just really stubborn. Either way though, he needs to be tested. Maybe the government will pay you for him.

Not that you're frustrated, though- you're glad he is what he is, because otherwise he would be 6 feet under ground and that would break your heart. But, still... damn. Returning to the living room with the kit, you quickly step over his legs again, stretched out under the coffee table, so that you can set up next to him.

Flicking the kit open, you immediately grab out wipes, surgical sutures, and betadine. In his delirious state he still manages to put his good hand on your knee and squeeze- forcing you to pause. You take a deep breath, and glare at his face. A gentle glare. Some bite to it, sharp, but mostly just fond.

"... Goddamnit Jim, don't make me miss that." Leaving the hand there, you shift slightly to get closer to him, using your teeth to rip the wipe packet open. Spitting it off to the side, you pick it out. "Stay with me, alright?"

"'Right... "

That night you think you got a good... 3 hour of interrupted sleep? You were constantly getting up to check that his bleeding hadn't started again, or that he was breathing, and then to chat with him when started to come back; Just to keep him awake.

Turns out he went back to Blackwater- shocker. When you glared at him he just shrugged and gave a weak laugh.

Yawning, you sit down next to him again for the millionth time that night, and hand him a mug as you cover your mouth with your empty hand. You watch him take it and peer into it, look unsure, sniff it, and look even more unsure. "Sweetheart... what is this?"

"Rum." You say quickly, managing a straight face.

He looks at you like, 'oh really?', like he's suggesting that you're a liar - which you are, its just water, - , and you nod. "You're not lying to me for my health or something silly like that?"

"I would never."

"Mhmm... " Still suspicious, Jim takes a gulp- and immediately makes a disappointed face; Settling down against the cushions behind them stained blood red as you give a grin. "Ugh- betrayal."

"And you will drink it all." You say sternly, crossing your legs and sitting up straighter. "You lost a lotta blood; You need it. Doctor says."

There's a tiny grin in the corner of his mouth despite getting bossed around, rolling his eyes. "Oh, fine... if doctor says... "

As he watches your TV, gradually finishing the mug of water, you cant seem to take your eyes off of him. Watching carefully for any ripped stitches or signs of internal bleeding... wondering if he's too cold still, because he was ice cold to the touch when he got here and despite the blanket he accepted from you you're still concerned he may get sick on top of this, considering taking him to the hospital despite the bill you're bound to get stuck with, worrying about him leaving on his own later.

You know he has to, he doesn't live here and he cant start - you love him, you do. You think he's the only person in the world who can make you so happy, and he probably is. But he's also insane, and a pain in the ass that you just could never live with no matter how hard you tried, - but that doesn't mean you stop worrying.

"You know~... Staring is rude, pumpkin."

"I am looking at you in a completely professional sense. I am your doctor." You insist, a slow grin spreading across your face.

"Mhm, sure you are." Turning his head from the screen to set you with a mischievous glare to which you rolled your eyes an finally looked away.

"Keep looking at me like that and I'm gonna kiss you." Its true. That look from Jim has made you kiss him before, and other things besides- and you don't need that right now.

"Ah, well, for fairness sweetheart if you remember- I'm not the one who stopped that." There's a pang in your heart at that, because its true; Jim never wanted to break up and he's consistent in reminding you that it was a mistake on your part - and he's waiting for you to come back, - , but you just sigh, shaking your head.

"Drink your water, old man"

Slowly he looks away from you again, touching the mug to his mouth with a cheeky twinkle in his eye. "... Yes ma'am."

From under the blanket his good hand slips carefully and sets on your thigh, and you sigh again; Crossing your arms.

But you don't remove it.

Feel kinda sad that there's no more episodes for now on. But hopefully we'll see a second season in future! I really love this new series, as a kid I never put much attention for the original one, but mayby I'll rewatch it just to see if I'm gonna like it as much as this!

I hope to see more anti Wanda and anti Cosmo in the second season!

It is really cool that Hazel's friends will keep their memory of faries, can't wait to see what they will cook with this idea!

Tom’s “oooooh.” as AJ changes the lights- while casually not helping and being on his phone as Sam and AJ figure out the lights (jk hes probably doing admin stuff but its funny)

Joe: *slams into a chair* ow. Sam: *snickers* its a bit dark in the room AJ: *scoff laughs back*

The way they debrief is just amazing idk why but its so cute to see, they're supportive but still critical, but like constructively critical, and still supportive of each other. Plus the metaphors are great, and the laughing at each other

Gotta be honest maybe they were just showing the best clip, but the A-Z game is pretty fucking good. I think its the audience’s fault tbh, they're not hype enough

That was good!” Sam coming in saying it was good when AJ and Tom were just complaining- but the way he immediately catches that they didn't feel exactly as confident about it as he did and going “no?” to just check and make sure, looking between both and not just one- brb crying they're such good friends he picks up on that-

I liked living in that take with a fic recent enough that it feels really grounded in what the directly post-war aftermath would have felt like.

Her giving them a bit of her power is so sick and them all saying "azarath metrion zinthos" is so so sick

Can i say the ost for this show as a whole in EVERY episode is absolutely sick and sounds so good i would listen to it on its own, but they also know how to dial it down and turn off the music for so much inpact its crazy, they did it with some apprentice arc scenes and haunted and such and it works so well to hear the atmosphere and suspense is perfect, i also like the ost that plays when the "dark versions" of star, cy and BB appear, its so minimal and impactful (i also like the konochrome no shading look they have) them talking is also pretty creepy

BB going inside trigon's ear and turning into a whale is so smart and also the "wet willie" he said he would give trigon XD

I knew slade teams up with them in this episode but it still feels weird! Also rob volunteered tovfind rae but honestly i think that BB has the closest bond with her and the little things he does through the series, and the penny he gave her, i dont ship them really at all but i feel like he has the closer bond and whole robin is my favorite and the leader, it would have made more sense for BB to go, and more emotionally impactful

Also dont say robin cant stay cuz he would easily beat the shadow titans but they could have done that and nobody would really care too much, they were defeated before by that robot that tried to beat cy in "only human" so shadows of themselves could definetly still proviide a problem with robin there, and it would have made no difference to how that scene could have went

Slade has a point, uf he gets a thing he wants and the end of the world is gonna happen anyway, he might as well take the deal.

Also i thought this whole time that "what he had lost" was gonna be his son or something cuz i didnt have any clue what it could be and drew on the tiny bit of deathstroke comic lore i knew but i was still skeptical, i was NOT expecting the skeleton tho, that seriously shocked me.

Him saying "The fringe benifits were quite enjoyable" and then panning on this scene is just:

BB's saying that terra was right to dump him is just vile

Still think that BB going after raven would have felt more impactful, like sure, robin and raven have been in each other's minds or something and i feel like them being the main two in "birthmark" makes so much sense, but for this, i feel like it makes more sense for BB to go, he's spent the entire show getting to understand raven more deeply than any other character, and he has littlerally been inside her mind. I dont ship them at all but their strong platonic bond would have been perfect for this

Something i love about this show is that the titans' friendships is strong and genuine, they care deeply for eachother, truly want to connect to eachother, make sure each ither is okay, they believe wachother instantly when something us wrong and dint disregard eachother's feelings, nobody is ever the butt of the joke and nobody is made to feel bad on purpose by the others, even if they are all completely different from one another, and if it happens then they do their best to make the sincerest of apologies. Them being mad at each other is always coming from a place of frustration from wanting to hang out and enjoy each other's company but just not understanding how

Many kids shows make friends kinda hate eachother, always get on their bad sides, cant seem to stand each other, and always have one of the others as the butt of jokes (even teen titans go does this! D:) so i really love this show for that

"We'll be ready for him" is what cyborg said at the end of "haunted" which i guess goes to show the hope and trust they have in themselves and eachother

Again i would say BB would have worked a lot better for this last scene with raven instead of robin, since BB while being a bit childish, is still really emotionally intellegent! (I mean look at all his interactions with raven and terra!) And this little speach about raven having the most hope does sound like something beast boy would say more than robin (yes he is the leader, but it sounds more right in BB's voice), like, i can imagine vividly what it would be like with bb in robin's place and it makes so much more sense. I honestly wanna draw a version of the same events but with bb instead but thats so hard to do and would take forever sooo :/ thats only a maybe few pannels kinda thing MAYBE

This is a sick arc, the music again was so cool,

I think my favorite part was part 1 tbh, before any of the world taking over takes place

ANOTHER LITTLE WOLF

This idea, like many others, has been sitting in my notes for some time, and just the other day my friend and I discussed it (and we will obviously continue this, as always) Honestly, I don't remember where it all originally came from, but relatively recently this idea came to another friend of mine in a chat, then I remembered the notes and... now the post is in front of you!

What if Antinous had a younger brother? Okay, this idea has been developing for a long time and is still developing, but for now we have such a number of ideas for, probably, a new AU

• The younger brother was essentially supposed to be the same age as Telemachus. (And you should remember this, you will find out why exactly ;) )

• His name, like Aphemachus, not accidental, but again has its own meaning. We thought for a long time about what to call it so that it would be cool and interesting, the very first option wasn't particularly difficult - Evrynous (there was supposed to be a joke here, but I don't know how to present it correctly in english, but you'll get the gist as you read) , but for now we have settled on "Clamalycus ". Now for the explanation (MY FAVORITE PART AAA) Everything again comes from two greek words "Κλάμα" and "Λύκος", meaning "Crying" and "Wolf", and as a result we have "Crying wolf"! Wolf, because well, it sounds menacing and we've all heard (not) enough "Wolf" in LW that my co-writer and I couldn't resist making that reference. And crying refers to his constant behavior

• Yes, the younger brother cried a lot since birth, in absolutely any situation and for a long time, and very heart-rendingly. This habit remained with him, even when he grew older. He quarrels with someone - shouts and cries, he is offended by Antinous - shouts and cries, he fight with someone - SHOUTS AND CRIES. He cries not because of sadness, but aggressively, if I may say so.

Someone: *thinks it's a special fighting tactic to confuse the enemy and defeat him, respects the boy* Clam: *just can't hold back tears and is always crying* EM... YES, THAT'S,DAMN, IT!

• Antinous and his father, Eupeithes, also had a long decision about what to name the infant. Father was thinking of something majestic, referring to someone great, but with the same particle "lycus".

Eupeithes: hmm...how about Heraclycus? No-no... Proclycus! No, Autolycus is perfect!

Little Antinous, who, after 7 hours of his brother's crying, is ready to either hit his head against the wall, or hit his brother's head against the wall: What??? "Autolycus"?!?! With such a cry that deafens all of kingdom, he is the only real Clamalycus!

• Yes, the childishly irritated comment unexpectedly pleased the father, which is why they settled on this name for the baby and the baby himself responded only to this name, so yeah XD

• And yes, there were moments when Antinous actually considered killing his little brother, simply cause the crying was so unbearable. But he never did this, but often hinted at it, no, even said it outright, so that his brother would be afraid of him and wouldn't cry and anger him (and this, naturally, didn't work)

leaping and hopping on a moonshadow by @lunarblazes - a fantasy au by luna my beloved! pearl suddenly gains magical powers and goes on a quest to find her long-lost friend grian who might know what's happening to her. she meets a lot of familiar faces along the way!

Recall by @redwinterroses - hey, i was the artist for this one! :D mumbo goes missing, so grian and scar search for him. they find that grumbot has been up to some... things along the way. the fic isn't finished but i think the chapters red put out is worth a read if you don't mind leaving off on a cliffhanger because it really is super interesting

dramaturgy by wormcity - a universe where gem and pearl join in a season 7 that was never finished. mumbo became the mayor, but the turf war went so very wrong afterwards. admittedly i have not finished reading this yet because ummm short on time xD but it's super interesting with a lot of layers of drama(turgy hahaha)!

a body is an object by ruffboi - grian is a mimic, and pearl's arrival in s8 shakes him up. she hasn't seen him in a while and is quite upset to learn that the grian she knew died a long time ago. a great read for familial connections and conflict of friendships!

Goatman and the Rift by TheDepressedCanary - doc's eldritch powers start acting up when the rift appears. what shenanigans will ensue?

late at night, when the stars don't look quite right by @lunarblazes - an excellent empires s1 and hermitcraft crossover longfic, where grian lands into the server and is discovered by pearl! very great worldbuilding and relationships, i especially love the dynamic between gri and pearl and pearl and gem :D

every new discovery is just a reminder by amaranthinecanicular - grian begins pulling alternate versions of the hermits from the life series into the server. he does save a lot of them, but at what cost? it does end on a cliffhanger but this is genuinely one of the most captivating oneshots i've ever read... argghhh

The Fair and the Brave and the Good by @slashmagpie - an afterlife smp longfic centered around the shelby, scott, and sausage. i have never watched afterlife smp before in my LIFE and this is still one of my favorite pieces of literature ever. the characters and worldbuilding is impeccable and perfect if you like something dark with themes of hope and renewal.

Two Can Keep a Secret (If One of Them is Red) by anonymous secretmcblog - a 3L oneshot! ren suspects grian has stockholm syndrome with his pact to stay with scar, but his expectations are wrong. a truly excellent read and one of them first fics i've read! i still go back to reread it from time to time

dog at the door by fluffy_papaya & iamsolarflare - a longfic where doc and ren take a trip on a van on their way to s8. ren, however, is not quite himself, and doc has to learn to befriend the red king.

devil town is colder in the summertime by @bananasofthorns - a oneshot from a 100hsmp/life series d&d au! team BEST ventures into a cursed evil fucked up forest. uh oh.

Interview with the Aftermath by @ranchersrevenge (wanderlasts) - the last life contestants are invited for an interview. the responses vary greatly.

stars, smoke, and stolen car keys by wormcity - a 100hsmp modern au oneshot where grian, scar, and joel go on a hike. it doesn't go quite as they expected.

the beehive state by amaranthinecanicular - a dsmp oneshot after wilbur moves to utah. tommy visits him, and the two reconnect. i have to say i stopped following dsmp a long time ago but this fic made me BAWL. i don't even think you need to know any of the characters that well to really enjoy just how amazing the writing itself is

Can't Go Back (This Time) by @duckmumbo (musicaltvbooks) - soup group goes end raiding and accientally finds themselves in afterlife smp. nothing goes wrong, surely! also admittedly i havent finished reading this either but roy i swear i will. this is a great read nevertheless and the soup group dynamic is impeccable!

TommyInnit's unbeatable method of avoiding sudden death by eneliii - on the train of dsmp fics, this is the superhero au longfic that inspired my own hc superhero au, vdhau. it's a lot of funny shenanigans with tommy and his friends. the fic does take a dark turn at the end, but that can be skipped entirely (as said by eneli herself) if you just want the wholesome aspects.

if you don't mind a little self promo, here are some of my fics!

Like this is exactly how I imagine them to grieve for Suguru and I love that so much can be left unsaid but the reader and Satoru and Shoko both just know. What they have isn't healthy but it's the only thing they can have. A happy and healthy relationship with someone else would just simply not work. They are both too fucked up for that.

One Piece Chapter 1133 - Initial Thoughts

And we're back again

Grateful the scans came out today this time around, if it were tomorrow I'd have to wait till Sunday evening since I've got relatives to visit and such, it is that time of year

But today is One Piece day, so it's time to check what the chapter has to offer now that we've properly set down in Elbaf

Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too

And the big reveal for the sword thief in Yamato's cover story is...Holdem...the guy Luffy could beat with ease

Tama is captured again and Speed was caught by a fire attack by Kamijiro (the lion head with the same name as the MHA ship that I like ��_¬)

Seems like Speed always seems to catch strays in Wano too, and where tf is Shinobu? Not like Yamato should struggle with him, in fact Tama should be showing the fruits of her training by not getting caught

The actual chapter begins with a flashback of Ohara, the evacuation ship exploding

But the narration is a forgery, Spandine speaking to the media to pin it on young Robin

A cruel montage follows to remind us that Robin's childhood was rife with cruelty and sadness, being called so many things that were the opposite of who she truly was

Also a reminder how media controls the court of public opinion, random people wishing death upon a child

The reason for this flashback though also reminds us of the things Saul told her - as if we could forget - which is also present

We also see a scene of Robin checking a book of the world, with Ohara no longer marked in position, she writes it in herself but gets grabbed

Back in the present, anchors drop on the Great Eirik as the crew - likely the ones who never went to Skypeia - marvel at the sea of clouds

As they anchor on the western port they have a heart welcome waiting for them

Lilith and Bonney having the same happy pose is cute

Luffy and Co also sail down, with a unique longboat of their own

The ship uses island clouds on its paddles to row through the air, which is quite ingenious

It's called the Svalr which means 'cool' in ancient Norse, in terms of temperature, but may also be a nod to Svalinn, the legendary Norse Shield that blocks the sun enough to protect the realms form its intense heat

Seems Elbaf also has consistently perfect climate, which it seems Vegapunk was probably working on with their temperature regulation in Egghead

Lilith also marvels at the coexistence of technology, which does make me feel like she may stay here

Nami makes a note of Robin's haircut, having expected her to do something like it

Luffy also reunites with Hajrudin - who also still calls Usopp 'Usoland' XD - as he's introduced properly to the New Giant Warrior Pirates

Rodo is at the back chained and crucified, as even Hajrudin omits him from the numbers

Luffy does remind them that he didn't want subordinates, but Hajrudin reminds him back that it's their choice to make

He also praises Luffy for making emperor, noting that news of Big Mom's defeat reached here too

Nami seems curious about singling out Big Mom - especially since Luffy didn't actually beat her, wonder if Kid is indeed here if that'd give him brownie points - as Gerd gives her the short rundown of their familiarity

Yeah cannibalism would be something the overwhelming majority of nations would deem unforgivable...

The rest of the giants are ready to feast though, and Luffy is happy to oblige

Before they rush off however Robin asks Luffy, which snaps them back on the Svalr

Robin wanted to go meet Saul and was happy to go alone, but Luffy is insistent and the crew want to come too

With Gerd steering, she tells the crew that Saul did want to show Robin the library

Luffy's reasonings are pure, feeling honour bound to meet someone who looked after a member of his Nakama - Robin does wonder where he got that sentiment but it's more a matter of Luffy's character

Also Bonney's along for the ride, Robin's taken over the paternal warmth figure for her in the meantime

Hajrudin and Broggy agree to prep and delay the feast for their return, as they intend to bring Saul back with them

Usopp asks about how learned the giants are, as Gerd reveals that Saul is their history teacher but also teaches them about certain books

Interesting to think that upon his debut he regarded Elbaf giants as savages

The group arrive at 'Warrior Springs' another marvelous landscape with waterfalls, near it is the 'Owl Library'

The springs was formed from broken parts of Treasure Tree Adam, which means that the tree does break off naturally, wonder if that's the parts that make up the Sunny?

Luffy is ready to charge in, but Nami holds him back, noting that this is Robin's thing

Alas, she hears what we heard two chapters ago, Saul's fallen and won't get up

Luffy, Sanji and Usopp are annoyed by the twist of fate, while Chopper goes straight into doctor mode

Saul's body is seen by the beach, but Robin only laughs to herself and says she'll go to him alone

It's just like how they first met, cowboy hat and all beached up

Once again he screams upon her approach, failing to scare her once more

It's still surreal this guy is alive after 22 years, very noticeable scars on his face

Saul was playing, unsure of how to break the ice so choosing this way

Robin notes he has the same funny laugh too

Saul joins the group of peg-legs with Aokiji, Shiki, Inuarashi and Zeff, probably snapped off from the ice

Saul pulls Robin up close to get a good look at her, noting that she looks like Olvia - prompting Robin to remember her mother

Saul asks if she heard Vegapunk's broadcast, she heard bits but confirmed the rest via newspapers, since she was kinda in the thick of it

Saul notes that Vegapunk spoke of Ohara's legacy, the voices that were intended to be silenced, and commends their sacrifice for doing so

Robin however notes his scars, reminding him of his own sacrifices

Seems Saul survived by the fires of Ohara melting his ice and sweeping him into the water

We've seen Aokiji freeze parts of an ocean that stay frozen for a month, honestly I doubt that Saul just happened to defrost and fall into the water

He goes on a little rant about the negative press Robin got, but Robin stops him and asks if he's gonna praise her for being alive

Pressed against him in a big hug, Saul does just that, praising her for staying alive for 22 years, for being a survivor and being glad they could meet again

Robin breaks down in the hug, and from afar so does the crew barring Luffy, Jinbe and Zoro

and we end the chapter on a smiling Luffy, but also a break

Not much you can say about that chapter other than it being nice and sweet. There were of course hesitations that Saul's survival would slightly undermine Robin's struggle but having someone who was there from her past tell her that they're proud of her for enduring is quite the catharsis.

There has to be more to come with Saul since he's yet to meet the friends he foretold would be there for Robin, it's also quite symbolic that this rings true even for meeting up with Saul, they didn't let her go alone - Luffy, low on energy and hungry, delayed a feast with giants so that Robin didn't have to go alone! That's how big a deal it is to them. Also this will be another D. for Luffy to meet.

We're getting small bits here and there of Elbaf's worldbuilding too, there are some loose threads to deal with in Elbaf and with the crew - such as Kuma, what to do with Bonney and Lilith, Vivi's secret message etc. - but for now we can let things be nice until shit hits the fan.

To think, almost a year ago we were bawling about Kuma's backstory, now we're tearing up for Saul and Robin's reunion.

Surface Tension

EA: Water Walking

NRG: generates many high viscosity bubbles in all directions. Not lethal, but definitely annoying considering they're basically floating balls of glue/tar

Size

EA: Perfect Size. Is always naturally the right size. Door frame too low? Naturally becomes shorter. Crowd blocking his view? Instantly becomes tall enough to see over them.

NRG: Theres only one idea, but its kinda mid (Elasticity). The only other one is shrinking so much, temporarily, that the user can essentially teleport. Think kinda like Ant-Man with the Quantum Dimension, only less "hey here's an invisible microscopic world" and more "lemme shrink so much that I can just blip from one building to another one nearby." idk theres no good options I feel

Propulsion

EA: Propelled Punch. Can launch propulsive energy with physical moves. Think MHA Air Force

NRG: Bound and Rebound. For a time, they will propel themself off of any surface. Like a pinball. Horrifying in tight spaces.

Figment

EA: Never Alone. Whenever they're alone, no they're not. At least one clone is with them if theres no one else around (that they known of at least, won't detect hidden people)

NRG: Me's A Crowd. Makes a seemingly infinite amount of copies. He makes a few copies, which each also make a few copies, etc. Think MHA Twice Sad Man Parade

Balance

EA: naturally well balanced, always lands on their feet, difficult to trip up, etc

NRG: Imbalance. Those around the user become very unbalanced, like they have sea legs.

Decay

EA: Unstable. Objects they hold are naturally more brittle. Think reverse Fusion EA

NRG: Vaporize. Everything within an inch of the user is decayed. Floor, walls, life, etc. But only within an inch, otherwise this would be WAY too powerful, especially for what's already the most lethal element in Ninjago history! (Sorry Destruction and Poison, you've been outdone.)

Heeeere we go!

Surface Tension: EA- YES, although this feels incredibly obvious (also forces me to reconsider the non-canon Effect of Water I theoretically gave to Jesse jhgfds NA- Ooh I could see this working similar to Lloyd's Energy Shield actually!

Size: EA- This seems hilarious on a first glance but can you IMAGINE the life improvement that would come from this jgfhdgsds NA- I kinda like the Elasticity idea! It's kind of like changing your size without changing our size, in. way! But there's also nothing wrong with temporarily blipping to another dimension either jhgfds

Propulsion: EA- Nice! And fitting! NA- That DOES sound horrifying. I love it!

Figment: EA- Also horrifying! But maybe comforting for them to some degree (also I totally forgot what figment was for a sec hnnng) NA- ...and of course, taking things to the opposite extreme! Though there's not a whole lot we can do with this one to begin with, so this is probably the best route to take

Balance: EA- Yes! Precisely what I'd been thinking xD NA- And again, the inversion! Which I also like!

Decay: EA- "EVERYTHING I TOUCH DIIIIIIES" NA- Yeah man this really is like if Destruction and Poison had baby lmao

I also would like to see more from those other elements before making any sweeping claims about them!

Swarm: EA- Yesssssss I love the Communication EAs a lot actually Misfortune: EA- Yaaaaaas Qrow semblance reference! This also feels like a negative twist on Jesse's NA too!

- ok, of all the things I expected this book to be about, 18ft tall sentient Mantises and Mothra having an all out war was not one of them. For 12 chapters this was the most boring book I've ever read in my life and then WHAM! MOTHRA! Like, what the fuck. AND WE NEVER HEAR ABOUT THIS SHIT EVER AGAIN.

Dude I finally read the neon void and I’m going a little crazy.

I just kinda really really love it. I knew it was good but I didn’t expect it to be that good. So that was pleasantly surprising. I also for some reason didn’t expect to get Leo narrating for whatever reason but I’m so glad we did. It makes me so sad the misunderstandings the boys had when Leo’s being Leo but with a darker appearance (and being so unnecessarily aggressive with the remarks toward himself like baby no 😭)

I can’t exactly speak from experience but the way grief was written was so so nice. I guess I could be completely off base bc I have yet to experience that type of grief (the perks of not getting close to too many people I suppose) but it feels really realistic. I super appreciate it bc I’m gonna use it as an actual reference bc it’s written in a way that’s understandable? I guess? Like I didn’t really get the specifics of grief before and I guess I can’t really now, but I do have a better grasp I think. Ah it made me hurt a lot tho

I’m still kinda taking it all in but all of everything was just so so good. I would love to hear about all your favorite moments and aspects bc I feel a ramble on my bones but it needs to be awakened teehee

A reason I’m so obsessed with TNV is how Leo is characterized. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I LOVE crazy/insane characters Idk what it is about them but they always peak my interest. And the way @/sugarpasteltmnt writes Leo’s madness just feels so real!!! Insane characters + unreliable narrator (especially if it’s the insane character) = NCSDJHDSCNDJSJCN#NJISCDNDC I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!! The misunderstandings of the brothers is also written so incredibly well. Again, it just feels so real. Their theories of who Neon Void is, their greif, their reactions to the taunts, etc. is all so realistic dfhuncfeuhncefihncufehneuhfcn

Oh and I also want to mention this fic made me LAUGH OUT LOUD. That does not happen with me!!! Especially with a fic????? Unheard of. (Specifically it was the Highschool TV show chapter)

Another thing I really like is how Donnie is written!!! I don’t even know what specifically about it, it’s just perfect!!!

Yeah I know what you mean!! The greif is written incredibly well, and though I haven’t experienced a loss like that, it definitely seems like a valid and (like I’ve said above) realistic way for each of them to react. I think it definitely does give me a better grasp on how some people grieve as well!

ITS PHENOMENAL!!!! I think a (small) part of this is I’ve realized when a song I know and like is referenced in a fic it makes me go “edcjhefncihednchdiencsidjncdeijnjicedniscdjnds”

The chapter when Mikey rips off his arm is fantastic (I really like Leo’s reaction!!!)

👹 Araceli Cage's masks 👹

Continuing with data about Araceli Cage, I wanted to delve deeper into the meaning behind the mask she wears (although she rarely uses it). Well, for me it's not just a simple mask, I have a fascination for them 👉👈

It should be noted that this did not arise in the MK fandom as such, but my interest in this mask had existed for a long time since I saw it in different places, even on the wall of my grandmother's house XD and I started to put it in the lores of my OCs when I was in the Tekken fandom and then in Yakuza, where I began to investigate more into Japanese topics.

It always caught my attention without first knowing its meaning and after looking it up I liked it a lot more since it fits with certain data from my OC's lore (remembering that after finding out about her true origins, Araceli had a time of immense depression in which she didn't feel like she belonged on Earthrealm because of who she was, she couldn't get the horrible appearance she had when she transformed out of her mind, she couldn't even look at herself in a mirror and preferred to hide, until she began to heal with the help of her loved ones and meditation. The mask had become a comfort and connected her to the spirits that accompanied her, until it no longer felt 'so bad' to be like them.)

The Noh Masks were used for artistic purposes, it was almost like wearing makeup but in a simpler way and each of these masks represented a different status. They usually have neutral expressions, the idea is that they can represent different emotions with a single expression, depending on where the light comes from, the expression will look happy or sad, that is why during the shows, the artists who use these masks take great care of the perspective.

There came a point where they were used to hide the "imperfections" of the faces of humans, dedicating themselves to further perfecting these masks and using them as a form of "mysterious beauty", with the intention of transmitting deeper emotions.

These masks are considered very important given the beliefs that they carry great power with them. Using them symbolizes a spiritual act.

They are not simple masks, they are also seen as portals for spirits, gods and other beings outside of this world. They are sacred and valuable, some being passed down from generation to generation.

These Noh masks serve as powerful conduits, uniting the mortal with the divine, representing human existence and the mysteries of the spiritual world.

The mask that Araceli Cage uses is the Noh Mask Ko-omote, which is usually used to represent young women, noble women or supernatural beings.
