#Better drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#digital art#This was a style experimentation doodle that took on a life of its own.#In a way it is a great example of 'beautiful failure'. The original goal was to try a pure black and white contrast piece.#Which I very much failed at doing. Not quite ready for that! However what this turned into is something I like a lot!#Different but in a way that really pushed me as an artist. A little less simple; a little more proportional.#I was also recently thinking about LWJ's grieving that we only catch glimpses of.#LWJ grieved his first love for 13 years. His love that was never reciprocated.#He chose to dedicate his heart to that mourning and most painfully of all - he did so knowing there was no end to that grief.#Wei Wuxian comes back to life in MDZS but that is an exception. Not the expectation.#He was dead. Not missing. Not 'maybe in hiding'. He was dead and his spirit unreachable.#Jiang Cheng went forwards with denial but LWJ takes that grief on. He copes by continuing to carry the weight with him.#Let me be clear. Neither are healthy approaches. It is a way to cope but it does not mean that is healing or healthy.#Grief is loved transformed but it is also about endurance and letting go. Grief can change you. You can also change your grief.#It isn't a good or evil thing to experience. It is just an experience.

WAIT I WANNA BRING UP ANOTHER THING ABOUT HOW BULLYING IS ADDRESSED IN NERDY PRUDES MUST DIE. one thing I really liked about how Max is shown as a bully is his talk with Pete at the Pasqualli's parking lot. When Pete tries to stand up to Max, Max pushes him down and emphasizes that Pete isn't a loser because of his own qualities - rather, Pete is a loser because Max simply said so.
Of course we can attribute this to Max's god complex but I think that this point in particular is less than often really brought up in teen-centered media featuring bullying: that bullying exists not because of nerdy behavior or whatever the fuck, but because bullies will it into being. And to have a BULLY of all people say that out loud - to have the main villain point out the root of their behavior without showing any kind of shame whatsoever - showcases just how much of a menace Max is.
#like max is really fuckin self aware throughout the show#he knows he's the biggest prick alive and he revels in his jackassery#to the point of pointing out the core problem of bullying itself: people are bullied because people are bullies. simple as that#like its a good message to hammer down in the bullying problem of the show while also showing how far gone Max is with his delusion of power#so um yea#oki at this point it's kinda obvious that my favorite character in the show is max jagerman like writing wise#dude's portrayed as an irredeemable literal monster and the show doesnt shy away from the fact that the dude isnt getting any redemption arc#and yet there are nuances to him being overzealous with his power both in life and in the afterlife#SO YEA STARKID DID A GREAT JOB IN WRITING MAX LIKE DAMN#starkid#nerdy prudes must die#npmd#npmd spoilers

If anyone wants to know why the kingdom hearts fandom has a lot of bad takes and everything in that regard just know it's all kh2's fault
Kh2 is the reason why everyone thinks the disney worlds are filler, why people think Sora "fell off" after kh2, why people think the series is just cool anime stuff but with disney characters, and why people think Kairi still has relevance all cause she has a keyblade (/hj about the Kairi point but also not really)
The games that came after kh2 aren't held in as high of a regard cause everyone expected the future games to be like kh2 when they're very clearly not. Most of the kh3 criticism I saw basically boiled down to "this should have happened like it did in kh2"
Every game after kh2 is doomed to be compared to kh2 like how every final fantasy game after ff7 is doomed to be compared to ff7 cause of how it popped off the way it did
Imo kh2 more or less essentially ruined everyone's perception of what kh is and is also one of the biggest examples of showing the dissonance between what the fans want to see vs the story Nomura wants to tell and that dissonance gets stronger with each game
Kh2 was the turning point in the series that basically told everyone that the story wasn't going the way they think it would go and it completely went over everyone's heads and I think that needs to be talked about
Anyway moral of the story is stop skipping kh cutscenes. That's why y'all confused and why y'all don't know things. If I see any kh4 criticism that sounds like "it should be like kh2" I'll bitchslap you to the moon I've had enough of the comparisons

Because I love it lmao#did Return of Ultraman get crazy compelling half way through!? When I wasn't looking!? what happened!? AAAA!? #my propaganda is simple: this show is an excellent character-driven drama with core themes of love dreams and selfishness/selflessness#it will get worse and it will get better#there's nonlinear character growth a fantastic anime adaptation and enough supplemental content to keep you fed for years#without being at all required to understand the story or characters#theres also great casual representation for people with chronic and debilitating illness#as well as a canon reoccurring and semi-important transwoman character treated well and respectfully#yes its an idol show but its also so much more and it isn't just edgy for the sake of being edgy#plus the fandom is super nice and sweet!#idolish7

Why is the TROP fandom so toxic all of the sudden?

#there are so many people arguing right now#I'm going to keep this simple but#was the kiss a choice?#yes#do I think it's going to ruin Haladriel content from the show forever?#certainly not#I really don't think we have anything to worry about#I think the show is still going to treat Haladriel with respect but fans of the ship just have to wait a bit for content#the allure of Haladriel to me (as someone who is 50/50 about the pairing) is the slowburn#If they are going to do something romantic with Gal and Hal they want to build up to it and make it great#We're only in S2 and they just met in S1#Let them have time to let those emotions simmer y'know?#And the amount of hate I'm seeing towards the people who didn't mind the kiss whether they saw it platonic or not is CRAZY#For a fandom that spews positivity on liking the show despite its flaws and shipping whatever you want (within reason)#there seems to be a lot of hatred now. What i love about sara taylor from step right up adventure isle is not cause she's just really pretty (even tho she is and i love that about her obviously) but it's that she looks like her design was actually pulled out of a creepypasta, she fits the vibe of a early 2000's victim of those stories so well down to the ripped up jeans, the shoe's, the un-tied laces, the hair and sweater, and the beanie.
like as a original design, she's a perfect representation of a horror victim but still managing to look pretty cool and have her own fun personality and likes.

heres my oc for today, shī tóng, hes a guardian lion brought to life by a wealthy dragon household, but when his other half died (guardian lions almost invariably come in sets) he left to go wander. he was almost consumed by his own magic in grief until he came across two kids, one of whom had the ability to cancel out magic for a short time. long story short hes a dad now.
