ok team gai-centric tenten headcanons now:

(handwaving canon cus idk if they even still have anbu after the war lmao but) she wants to be an ANBU and specifically requests it when kakashi becomes hokage - since kakashi is her sensei’s husband best friend, she incorrectly believes that he will grant her request. it’s because of this that the opposite happens: he explicitly DENIES her repeated requests and when she eventually confronts him about it, he’s like: well. me and gai care about you too much for me to fuck you up like that. here is a genin team that would benefit from your tutelage instead :)

tenten was neji's first real friend. but also. he used to piss her off BAD with all his fate and destiny talk, and for being an uptight clan-kid. she definitely used to pick fights with him in their academy days. he often won, but she discovered his blindspot because one time he turns his back on her and she throws a rock at him and it actually hits him. she's like "oh word? 👀 that vision's not quite 360 is it HYUGA?"

also. kinda pisses me off that neji is on a team with ROCK LEE and TENTEN, two of the canonically most pleasant, friendly and optimistic people in the konoha 11/12, and their sensei is fucking MAITO GAI, but it takes getting beat by naruto, some random jerkwad he just met, to change neji’s perspective on fate and make him less driven by his anger and hopelessness. i absolutely do not accept that, though i understand it had to happen because this is Naruto the Manga. IN MY MIND THO, naruto just echoes and drives home sentiments that neji’s LITERAL TEAM AND ONLY LOVED ONES have been drilling into him for the entire year that they have been on a team before he even met naruto, and also probably insisted on when they were still in the academy. bffr

RELATEDLY: sorry, but. for a while. tenten does not like hinata. she feels bad and guilty about it, but, well, two things. 1) (at least according to narutopedia) tenten allegedly hates weak people. based purely on what she hears from neji, she would probably categorize hinata as a weak person and 2) even if she didn’t, as neji’s literal only friend and someone who understands injustice, she would empathize with him and his hatred for the main house. in her child’s/teenage understanding of it all, she would find it perfectly reasonable that neji hates hinata, and in defense of her friend, would also not like her. she is never outright mean to hinata, because she’s not cruel! she just doesn’t try particularly hard to be her friend! hinata might not even notice it herself!! and she gets over it eventually!!

she also likes spicy food just not as spicy as gai and lee like it. her spice tolerance is like. she can eat buldak spicy ramen (original) but wouldn't touch 2x spicy, which gai and lee could eat regularly. neji cannot handle spicy food at all, bless his heart <3

this is going to be a hot take (its my headcanon tho so who cares) but. gai tries to teach them all how to open the gates. neji can't do it at all; tenten can only get as far as the 4th gate, the gate of pain

tenten is the first to kill someone and she is...not as upset about it as gai, lee, and neji thought she would be. in fact, her callousness about it scares gai a little bit and he has to give her a Talk about the Value of Human Life, even when it is an Enemy's Life.

speaking of kakashi, after naruto leaves, since tsunade has taken over sakura's training, he hangs out with team gai during their training sessions (that's their Stepdad ok)

ok. i'm disregarding the filler that explains how everyone became a chunin for this one:

after losing to temari so quickly and brutally, tenten OBSESSES over proving herself in this specific way. chunin exams are apparently held twice a year, so they register again–lee and neji are lowkey not ready after both getting major surgeries just a few months before, but they see how important it is to her so they register anyway and both end up getting knocked out in their final matches. that's right baby: tenten becomes a chunin first! lee and neji follow in the next exams six months later

speaking of disregarding canon: instead of gai holding them back a year, i hc that when it was time to register for the chunin exams when they were more newly a team, tenten opts not to register because she thinks they are not cohesive enough as a team (cus neji and lee are always getting into it.) neji and lee are very mad at her for this but she's actually right

Pandora is the owner of a small business, and she sells anything and everything. it's like a shop of oddities, but the oddity is her. she'll do tarot reading and cleaning. she'll have haunted dolls and cursed artifacts. handmade jewelry and taxidermy animals (she likes the one where small rodents are doing actual human things (her absolute favorite is the one of the mice getting married). she marketed as a gift shop (no one knows why) she also rarely has customers (no one's sure how she's still open). she's the sole employee and she loves coming in and reorganizing her store (it's never organized) and absolutely loves to invite her friend over for tea (they don't like having tea in the store). she goes all out during Halloween, and she makes her most sell then. she's recently gotten a giant rabbit who she keeps at the store windows (people are coming into the store for the rabbit and leave with a spelled candle and taxidermy raccoon, business is doing great).

Evan has one of two jobs, he's either a tattoo artist who known for he really elaborate works or he's a surgeon (i'm thinking general surgeon but he would definitely go on to be a heart surgeon). now for the sake of new content (because we always see tattoo artist Evan), we're going to say surgeon. Evan is most definitely known for having unnaturally steady hands, like they never shake, which is good for being a surgeon, you know. he likes to joke around with his patients, and you always see him smiling when he's talking to one of the nurses, but in that surgery room, he's a different person. Evan's not the best surgeon, but he's good. people keep asking for him because he makes a lasting impact on the patients. he likes to hear people's stories and likes to see how they grow as individual. he also knows Remus. they met a few times because he's been his interpreter and a couple other time because he's been Evan's patient (they go out to drink from time to time)

Barty is a tattoo artist, (no he doesn't own his shop and yes he does hate his boss but he's the only one who won't give shit for being a shit) he's completely covered in tattoo but it's not even in a cool way. it's clear that most of the shit he has came straight from a high teenager who had no slef control, but he makes up for them by having a few good pieces. Barty's also a part-time sex worker, but like not actually a sex worker, more in like 'twenty bucks is twenty bucks' kinda way. he mostly deals. you'll never catch with the hard stuff, but know that he sells. had his hand severely broken because of a deal gone bad, and he needed surgery. (you can guess who was his doctor) it's still bothers him even after its healed (or so he claims, he just wants to see Evan (don't worry yall he's on his dad's insurance))

Regulus does not work. he's a rich boy, the closest thing he's gotten to work is carrying his own shoping bags, I'm kidding but I'm not. like Regulus doesn't work in the same way every else does. Regulus just does what ever hobby he's currently enjoying. he plays piano w/ an orchestra, he's a ghost writer, makes michelin star meals for his friends. like if he wants to do somthing he just does it. no limits, no restrictions. he's just that much of a rich boy and I love him for it. if anything i feel that he's just a clueless as James is with what he wants to do so he decides late one night that he's going to apply for an internship at every big company (guess who accepted his application) Barty thinks he's stupid and Pandora is excited for him to enter this new chapter of his life.

“Here.”

Tim looks up as Kon waltzes back into the living room, two enticingly-steaming mugs in his hands. Hot spiced apple cider sounds absolutely divine right now—the blustery Kansas day outside is reaching its icy fingers into the farmhouse despite the fire blazing merrily in the hearth, and Tim has to admit, he maybe should’ve packed warmer for this trip.

Kon presses one of the mugs into his hands—the nicer one, Tim notes, without the chip in the rim—and Tim accepts it with a grateful hum. The warmth seeps into his palms immediately. “Thanks.”

“No problemo, Rob-lemo.” Kon plops down next to him on the couch, his TTK keeping his cider perfectly still in his mug as he makes himself comfortable. “It’s pretty chilly out today. Gonna be a good night to go skating—the pond down by the McAllister’s place is frozen over, and this time of year, they string up lights ‘n’ invite all the neighbors to come by in the evenings. Wanna go?”

Tim hums in consideration. “Could be fun, but just warning you, it’s been a hot minute since I did any skating, so I’m kinda rusty. And I didn’t bring any skates.” Mmm, the steam rising up from his cider smells amazing. “Did you make this?”

Kon’s eyebrows shoot towards the ceiling. Then he puffs out his cheeks in mock offense, folding his arms across his chest. “You don’t have to sound so surprised! I’m good in the kitchen.”

Yeah, Bart keeps calling him malewife material about it. Tim grins into his mug; it’s not his fault it’s so easy to ruffle Kon’s feathers, or that it’s so funny to do so. “I guess it is Ma’s recipe, so it’d be hard to make it bad.”

Kon politely waits for him to lower the mug from his mouth and then swats him on the back of the head. Tim does appreciate the pause, even as he ducks away, laughing. The cider tastes like apples and cinnamon and honey; warmth spreads through Tim’s chest.

“You’re rude,” Kon tells him. “Just for that, if you fall on your face when we go skating, I’m not helping you up. I’m just gonna laugh.”

“Oh, it’s a when we go skating now?” Tim quirks an eyebrow at him in turn. “I just said I didn’t bring any skates.”

“We can get you some, that’s no trouble,” Kon says, flapping a dismissive hand. Tim opens his mouth to ask where, exactly, in Smallville, can they get a pair of new ice skates in a matter of a couple of hours, but then closes it again when it hits him that even if there isn’t a big sporting goods shop in Smallville, geography isn’t really a concern to someone who can crisscross the entire globe in a matter of minutes.

“Yeah, okay, sure.” Tim lightly elbows him. “Don’t tell me you’re actually good at skating. I bet you just TTK your way through it.”

Kon elbows him back. “Yeah, right! I’m pretty decent, no powers required, actually. Been going plenty with Jon. He particularly loves this one roller dome in Metropolis that always has Super merch in the arcade claw games.”

Okay, Tim has to admit, he’s melting a little about that. Kon loves his little brother. The image of him taking Jon skating is really cute—he can just picture Jon wobbling along, holding Kon’s hand, and rambling about his day like he loves to do. He bites back a truly sappy smile; his toes curl instead, where they’re tucked under a cushion to stay warm.

“Lemme guess. The claw games are where you TTK it up.”

Kon snickers. “They’re rigged as hell, but the kid wants his misshapen Superman plushies, so obviously I gotta win ‘em for him.”

“Obviously,” Tim agrees. He curls his fingers around his mug a little tighter, soaking up its warmth; he’s got an actual winter coat for when they go out, but he really wishes he’d brought some thicker sweaters or hoodies for hanging around in the house itself. He’s used to the damp, creeping cold of Gotham; the blustery Kansas winters might be about the same temperature, but the wind out here blows right through him.

Kon shifts next to him, setting his cider down on a coaster on the coffee table. Tim glances up just in time to see him unzip and shrug out of his hoodie—it’s fleece-lined and light pink with a strawberry cow printed on the front breast pocket, very cute.

And then Kon leans over and wraps it around Tim’s shoulders. Tim’s face heats.

“It’s cold,” Kon explains. “Take my jacket. I don’t really need it that bad, anyway, so you may as well get some use out of it.”

It’s still warm from his body, and Tim lifts one hand from his mug to pull it more tightly around himself like a blanket. His nose brushes the collar when he turns his head a little. The jacket smells like Kon’s cologne.

…It’s the citrus-and-spice one Tim bought him last Christmas. He’s wearing the cologne Tim picked out for him last year, the one Tim definitely didn’t spend almost an hour agonizing over as he imagined tucking his face into Kon’s shoulder and inhaling this specific scent from his collarbone. He’s…

Tim’s face gets even hotter. Abruptly, he takes a gulp of hot cider, hiding in his mug. Kon’s jacket smells like him, and it’s warm, and it’s big and cozy and soft, and…

Kon is staring at him, Tim realizes belatedly. He didn’t notice because he was busy, uh, processing, but Kon’s looking at him like he’s…

Like he’s the last morsel of dessert on the table, and Kon has a ravenous craving for some sugar?

Tim swallows hard. Deliberately counts to eight on his next inhale and exhale. If he lets his heart rate pick up, Kon will definitely notice.

“Thanks,” he manages, finally. “That’s, uh. Yeah. That’s nice.”

“I’ll say,” Kon mutters. He drops his gaze, his cheeks a little pink, and then reaches over to ruffle Tim’s hair. “Bring warmer lounge clothes next time, dumbass. The farmhouse is kinda old. Gets drafty in here.”

“Yeah,” Tim says wryly. He shifts his weight, rearranging his legs so that instead of leaning on the armrest, he flops himself against Kon’s side, dropping his head to his shoulder for a moment. “I noticed.”

Kon leans his cheek against Tim’s hair. “At least you got me to keep you warm,” he sighs, slipping his arm around Tim’s shoulders. “What would you do without me, huh?”

Tim bites back the first response on the tip of his tongue (“Go into a huge depressive spiral?”) and goes for something a little less insane. “Freeze to death before you even get to laugh about me falling on my face at the McAllisters’ pond?”

Kon snorts. He’s comfortably warm against Tim’s side, and Tim snuggles a little closer, relishing his warmth. “Yeah, that sounds about right,” Kon agrees. “I hope I can get it on video.”

Tim just smiles to himself and raises his mug for another sip of cider. The honey and spices are heavenly on his tongue, but if he’s being entirely honest, he can think of something sweeter.

relevant to nothing, but i wanna hear your thoughts on the natlan archon quest. am i the only person who's kinda salty with how it ended? i know they can't kill off mavuika cause they wanna make the archon playable, but it felt a little too convenient to me that capitano was just there to solve the problem. maybe i'm just coping since i wanted playable capitano. just wish the whole archon quest was written differently cause i'm so indifferent to mavuika. i still think she's cool, but there could have been more. hoping they make the second act of her character quest a banger. eh maybe it's just a me issue and i'm just burnt out from all the dense lore bombs in natlan -🍵

see. listen. its really funny. cause im a fatuihater on principle. i just Havent liked them. this made me like capitano. i was SEVERELY not vibing with him when he showed up and literally went "fuck it we're doing my plan". that was just Typical Fatui Shit to me and i was already rolling my eyes and sick of it. capitano actually gained my respect by having a genuinely interesting plot purpose and actually having principles he stuck by. i fully did not buy into him being all chivalrous and just like his lackeys talked about him being because the thing with just about every harbinger and in general fatuus so far is we're told one thing and shown a whole nother. this is probably the first time we had a genuinely altruistic harbinger, and also the first time we're shown The Bad and then Actual Good. every other time its been either Good no wait theyre Bad or Bad and then Worse. cant stand childe. dottore is just flat and lame because theres no substance to it other than He Feels Like It. arlecchino could be compelling but its severely hampered for me by her lack of self awareness. her and wrio are interesting character foils but the fact that she Genuinely believes shes better than crucabena and doing something good for Her Children is just such a HARD turn off because functionally she's in the same boat but with worse and deeper emotional abuse rather than flat out violence. i wouldnt mind as much if she like. admitted this. but she truly does seem to believe grooming kids into being soldiers is good when she does it so its like... nooooo.. nope. its So clear to me narratively she doesnt actually care for anyone in the house of the hearth on an individual level so much as theyre Her Property. her pawns. if someone gets hurt theyre messing With Her. this is just neatly dressed as the whole idea of Being Family. anyway thats not the point

^ i said that like a week before actually playing the last bit of the archon quest and like. i live in a hole so i dont really know how everyone Felt about the ending by and large but like. they won me over big time with that! not only was the scene really cool and the entire concept of no matter what happened there it was going to be cheating death was REALLY sick. that was a satisfying narrative arc 100000% and it was pretty well foreshadowed. im a sucker and told myself when i started the game like a month after it came out i was GOING to like the pyro archon and natlan no matter what bc something something native american vibes and i do genuinely love mavuika and enjoy natlan so like. im for sure biased. and it made narrative sense for her not to die yet even if she had already accepted she would. its also a satisfying end for capitano cause he actually achieved his technically impossible goal. he won against death! by dying anyway! and giving all the souls he had inside him somewhere to rest!

im also super biased bc the way capitano tried to kick the door down and say HEY we're doing things my way and didnt look like he wanted to defer to the people that Lived There that he PROFESSED TO CARE ABOUT simply did not sit right with me. heavy colonizer vibes. ESPECIALLY after the reveal that everyone would functionally lose their cultural identity if he did what he intended. and saying he cared about the people and land in question. like that simply Did Not Track. first harbinger ever to sit his white ass down and listen when mavuika told him to knock it the fuck off and honestly that was so real. they didnt fully win me over pretty much until he showed up in front of ronova and i knew Exactly what i was about to happen. they started to get me around the time he showed up at the flower feather clan but i was still suspicious. unironically him dying made me like him so much more cause it was actually. like. cohesive and sensical. some parts of natlan felt like a slog up to that point for sure but that was an Extremely good payoff for some things set up since the beginning. kinda makes up for the gosoythoth fight being pretty lackluster. i had also figured ahead of time they were gonna subvert the mavuika death bit and this kinda feels like the only way it couldve been done without being a total cop out. but tbh i get it and i doubt youre the only one since natlan has been pretty unpopular for various reasons

maybe capitano being there was some degree of contrived and convenient but idk. to me it felt pretty well thought out and when you think back on certain things even before he flat out tells you what his deal is they did foreshadow the whole being a vessel for other souls thing. interesting foil with both ororon and mavuika that way. he actually felt like a driven and consistent character when i was instantly under the impression when he showed up and started throwing punches at a god that he was just gonna be another guy here serving his own mystery agenda consequences be damned but he did kinda actually back up the fact that he cared about natlan and its people as well as his homeland and its remaining inhabitants so i do have to give props for that. like extremely. maybe its cause hes one of the only harbingers who doesnt give a fuck less abt the tsaritsa idk lmao. it was kinda sweet that mavuika conceded to him after he died as a sign of respect. cause like clearly after they werent opposed they had a lot of mutual respect for each other as leaders! refreshing to have a harbinger capable of listening to other people idk the M.O. of the fatui is really just wreck shit in a foreign land until they comply rinse and repeat kinda nice that was Fully not what he was going for. felt organic

Sisters, Raili and Raija

Raili was a sister of My grandmorher, never had kids of her own, she kinda was like third grandmorher to me as achild. She fell in love with a Canadian scam man when se was younger, he Brooke her into such pieces she eventually she never loved again, and passed away about a decde ago. I miss her, she was kind, helpfull and truly loving. I miss her and I regret that some toxic person made me run away from Every body and i missed her lasr y years while fueled with alcohol and and helplesness, i fell like i was s burden for her to meet or even speak to. But i think she loved me as i am, truly.

Raija is My fathers mother, so basically The woman who gave birth to a man who would become My worst nightmare. Which is so hard to understand, because she is the sweetest lady whod you ever meet. How would someone like herself raise such and toxic, dangerous and unhealty person. All the the love she gave was in vein. I hope she has found The peace within herself, since she never did anything wrong, except once she got high on clonazepam on her sister birthday birthy and was it was delightful.

Ahh my old home... It was beautiful... Well actually not really it kinda sucked but it was home. After a long day of hard work I would kick back and relax by immediately getting into arguments with conservatives about whether or not I deserve to exist, spending all night moderating every new post made to r/familyguyporn (erm... You broke rule #274, how dare you, permabanned for life), and visiting 30 different subreddits only to see the same unfunny joke recycled and reposted for the thousandth time!

Haha but seriously though it wasn't all bad I actually really enjoyed my time there. If Reddit ever becomes not stupid again there's really great communities on there and it provides a much more structured and useful method of interacting with interests you like. There are some great communities that I honestly can't find comparable groups to on Tumblr that I wish I didn't have to continue using Reddit or a discord server to keep in touch with.

If you guys ever want to see what's up with Reddit I'd highly recommend r/196 (currently not allowing posts but maybe someday, also it's just fun to look through the old posts) and its little sister subreddits r/691 and r/19684 because they have a similar Tumblr (queer, lefty, shitposty) vibe, it's where most of the Reddit refugees on here came from initially. Also r/Tumblr and r/curatedTumblr (both private right now), because it's just reposts of Tumblr screenshots so the people there would probably be more accepting of you little tumbleweeds. r/wunkus (silly cats and stuff, I love that sub so much, criminally underrated). r/vexillologycirclejerk and r/mapporncirclejerk (private) are some of my favorite communities and I'm sad there's not a similar big community here. They're pretty left wing and focus on shitposting and jokes about flags and maps, they're very funny but some of the jokes get old quick. As well as literally any community you can think of! I swear, no matter how niche your interest is, there's probably a subreddit for it. And if there isn't, you can make it!

I'd avoid major shitposting subs, as that seems to be where the 'edgy teenage suburban white boy with unlimited internet access' archetype tends to congregate. I'd also avoid sorting by controversial in the comments when LGBT people get brought up on mainstream subs. Reddit takes itself a lot more seriously than Tumblr does and people will not be afraid to argue with you. A lot. Also you get punished with downvotes if people don't like what you say.

Anyways that was a lot. I hope Reddit stops being dumb because it's honestly hard to replace and it's such a great place to find things and people that you're interested in. Not to mention if you have a very specific question about basically anything, Reddit will literally save your life. I like Tumblr a lot, but Reddit will always be near and dear to my heart.

oookay heres my green eggs and ham take, which i may add to the original post idk but i would probs get flamed by OP.

I think it's important to consider that for the case of green eggs and hams specifically, tumblr is not only the piss on the poor website it is also the autism website. A fairly common experience amoung autistic children is constantly being forced to eat foods you can't stand, because many autistic people have aversions to certain foods. Green eggs and ham, where a guy repeatedly tries to force another guy to eat something despite him constantly saying no, reads like this to someone who has experienced that, which is a little shitty if you ask me. Not saying the message of the book - that trying new things is good - is bad, but it's important to acknowledge that people will view texts through the lense of their own life experience, circumstances and culture, and different people will get different things from texts and make different associations. Peoples personal responses to texts are valid.

Also the thing about boundaries. Like the guy repeatedly says I do not want green eggs and ham go away and leave me alone. Sam I am keeps randomly turning up places and inconvenicecing this guy, trying to force him to eat green eggs and ham. That's kind of really not cool, and even if Sam was right that green eggs and ham taste good and the guy enjoyed them at the end, the ends do not justify the means. He said he didn't want green eggs and ham. Sam made him eat them anyway by constantly harassing him about it. That's not ok. No means no. Sam should'vd left him the fuck alone after one or maybe two times of him telling him he didn't want them.

Sam is getting literally nothing out of this. It's not like the guy needs to eat green eggs and ham or he'll die, its literally just a food and it's not at all important but Sam will not let it go until the other guy gives up, which is kinda shitty of him.

I think most of this only matters if you're trying to use literature for moral instruction. If you're just reading it because its a funny story or the language is poetic, that's totally cool, but if people are trying to get a moral or some kind of teaching out of kids books - like using green eggs and ham to show that trying new things is good - then it is important to consider the message of the whole book and the kind of behaviour it encourages and the connotations certain things have. You can't pick and choose what morals you take out of a text, you've gotta accept it as a whole, because thats how people see it when they read it without analysing it like they're in an english lesson. Yes green eggs and ham says that it's good to try new things. It also shows that this guy is a killjoy and a looser for saying he doesn't want to try something, and it's perfectly justified for someone else to drive him up the wall and not give him any peace until he gives in, because it's for his own good.

I've been trying really really hard not to use a metaphor about sex and consent this whole time because i know ill get laughed out of here for saying green eggs and ham is like sex, because that's fucking stupid, but also I think there's something to be said about how agreeing to something under duress isn't consent, and it's important to respect peoples boundaries about things in every day life. Like I said. If we're using these books to teach people lessons about how to behave (and that's a pretty big if), you've gotta consider what behavious they're actually modeling.

For the record, having said all this, I don't think there's anything wrong with reading green eggs and ham. It's just a book. It's not that serious. But if you're gonna get pissy about reading comprehension and use green eggs and ham as an example, you better be prepared for people to actually have some literary takes and analysis on green eggs and ham.

Livio and Razlo are my BOYS man, they're my guys. OUGH.

Usually I am Not A Fan of characters being added to the main cast super late in the game, but I think him being introduced a little earlier as a villain superrrr helped me accept him as Part of The Gang. Ya know? He's one of my favourite characters and I just adore him. That being said, it's really hard to talk about him without spoilers. Like, really hard. Actually Trigun is hard to talk about without spoilers! So I'm gonna shove this long ramble nobody is gonna read, under a read more. I'm a kind soul, I'm protecting your dash.

Also total warning, this isn't like... legible, this is the worse way to learn about the character cos im just going "wow it was cool when he did this thing... and also this thing... hes so cool i love him" for too many words.

So I'll address his main sort of... thing, first off. So Livio has dissociative identity disorder, and like, for a lot of it, it's quite clear that Nightow didn't exactly go in with a heap of research on the subject. However, I wouldn't call it a negative portrayal at all. Ofc its not really up to me, but like, he wasn't really portrayed as dangerous because of his disorder. He and Wolfwood have the same backstory, they're dangerous because of The Eye of Michael and those dudes have always been explicitly condemned in-narrative as, y'know, the baddies. It's less "he's bad because he's bad" and more "he does these things because he's been conditioned by a cult from a young age to do these things". His disorder is like... not even a factor. The Eye just likes stealing kids and training them for bad stuff, man. And like, you do feel sorry for them. Both Livio and Razlo have been hugely manipulated by Chapel in particular, who positioned himself almost as a father figure, and certainly led them to believe he cares about them. So like, it's not really surprising he does everything he's asked to, he hasn't really had anywhere else he's felt cared for. Anyway I LOVE Livio's intro in the manga. We're told two guys are coming, Livio the Double Fang, and The Tri-p of Death.

Then these two dudes show up:

And like... you make the obvious assumption that those are the guys, ya know? Sure looks double-fangy to me. They're then shown tearing through a bunch of intimidating looking dudes to sort of, hype up how strong they are, right? But nuh cos see.

Livio just comes in and wrecks their shit, picks them both off as though they were nothing.

and to be fair, they are! He's a very high-level eye of Michael dude ya know?

So yeah, that's our introduction to Livio, fantastic way to show that he's just, like, strong as hell. We learn he's joining the Gung-ho Guns, so y'know, oof, he's now in direct opposition to our heroes, supposed to make you nervous and all. Anyway he and Chapel show up every now and then to just be... y'know... annoying. Try and kill him a lil y'know... that sort of thing.

It's these fucked up family reunions that we love ya know. This is totally me at Christmas.

Anyway this time was rlly funny because Elendira rlly said "you three are so annoying pls leave your drama at the door"

And they DID hahaha. I don't blame them, she's scawy.

Anyway what I think I like most about Livio is how like... y'know, sweet he is. He's kinda like Wolfwood in that he's a total sweetheart at his core but life just hasn't let him be sweet, ya know?

When Jasmine was in trouble, baby Wolfwood didn't even hesitate to run out and save her.

And Livio was the same, you know? And after The Couch, Livio even says, he wants to live his life like Wolfwood so like, we've got these two dudes with near identical journeys.

From orphans, to initiates, to assassins, to good guy with a gun lmfao. Despite what Livio does, it's really hard to ever hate him, and Razlo, too is extremely sympathetic...

Like he's got his own motivations and shit he's working through, man.

Anyway I really love during the Elendira fight when hes like, struggling to beat her, how Razlo gives Livio his own sort of hype man experience like the manga flashes back to how hard Livio worked to keep up with Razlo and the Eye, and Razlo is like hyping him up the whole time. It's really nice and wholesome :)

Anyway his journey from emo cult man to himbo cowboy was fantastic and I love Livio so much, he's a sweetheart.

And I loved his appearance at the end of the manga, like, showing he was looking after the orphanage and stuff.

And also this whole scene where he and Vash ate together made me cry.

1 Redemption Part 2

I really am not good with the Klingon politics, I find the characters hard to follow however the duras ladies are kind of serving. Yar daughter is kind of cool but it's funny how Picard just kinda accepts its true despite it being literally impossible.

2 Darmok

I thought this episode was really sweet. it was small in scale compared to most others. No impending doom, no real conflict, just some friends learning a language. And an invisible monster but y'know. It is a bit laughable no one figured it out before with how simple it is, but I guess it had to be so audiences could understand

3 Ensign Ro

Oh hey I know her from homicide! I find it kind of annoying when shows are like "actually the freedom fighters never did a terrorism after all, so you're allowed to sympathize with them now!" Subverted a bit but still. Also starfleet is still rampant with corruption lol

4 Silicon Avatar

Wow I did not expect the crystal thing to come back. I have to admit the ending of this one really got to me. Like I felt genuinely sad for that thing and hatred for the scientist. I often get annoyed that there's too many data episodes but I didn't mind this one.

5 Disaster

This episode was fine, not a lot to say about it except it gave characters who don't normally interact a chance to, which was neat. Picard and the kids was cute too. It's funny how he's supposed to be bad with kids yet he is consistently very good with kids.

6 The Game

I kinda liked seeing Wesley again but I was too weirded out by the rest of this. The way at the end they just kinda go "aha villain we foiled your plan! Welp back to business" as if they didn't just all do horrible things. Also the data deus ex machina was unsatisfying.

7 Unification Part 1

I mean... I have no nostalgia for Spock so this means basically nothing to me. However, this is the first real exploration of who the Romans actually are, which was sorely needed, so I appreciate that.

8 Unification Part 2

Like I said on the last one, I'm glad Romulans are finally getting fleshed out a little bit. I also thought the conversation that Spock and data had was nice. Live long and prosper is super corny I'm sorry. I'm kinda glad they basically never say it on this show

9 A Matter of Time

I get what they were going for but the tonal difference between the dying planet plot and the archaeologist guy didn't do it for me. I don't really understand how the character knew so much about the enterprise to begin with but perhaps he was just very good at bluffing.

10 New Ground

Despite loving Worf I have to admit I didn't care for that many Worf episodes because I struggle to follow Klingon politics. This, however? I very much enjoyed watching him be a shitty father. I couldnt help constantly noticing how Alexander was clearly white. like not that its bad it was just funny

11 Hero Worship

I'm gonna be real this one made me cringe so hard I stopped halfway through. like I'm sorry but Troi saying they should encourage what is obviously super unhealthy behavior just bothered the hell out of me. Pass.

12 Violations

This was particularly dark for the show but I do kind of like it as an exploration of rape. they handled it pretty well. I don't like how ambiguous the riker scene is though. I don't think he actually did all that but you could read it that way.

13 The Masterpiece Society

"What if there was a society with customs we find repulsive but they liked it" is a pretty standard episode plot so this one is kinda whatever. The stakes felt too low in this, like I didn't really buy the idea that the society would collapse if they removed a few people.

14 Conundrum

A lot of missed potential here; they resumed their normal roles so quickly it felt like they never explored the amnesia except for with ro and riker. It went back to feeling like a standard episode pretty fast. I get that they had to move the plot along but still. Also picard just killed those people and went "oops sorry guys"

15 Power Play

I really enjoyed this episode, it was fun to see the characters behave so differently and for Troi to have a more assertive role. It's absurd that they don't have some sort of Data containment plan, he is simply too powerful... but not as powerful as O'Brien's "wife guy" energy, strong enough to completely derail a hostile invading spirit

16 Ethics

This episode was decent but I was really baffled by the lack of Geordi. The script was so concerned about the ethics of euthanasia that it never really stopped to critique Worf's views on disability. Idk I think it's a missed opportunity. Although I guess Geordi did have that same conversation in The Masterpiece Society.

17 The Outcast

I didn't really care for this one much, not because of gender politics but just because I found it boring & I did not think the character of Soren was very endearing. I'm sure there's a lot to be said about the episode's take on trans and nonbinary people, but I am not invested enough to unpack that

18 Cause and Effect

For the first half of this episode everyone *except* data experiences deja vu, which would be interesting as it's one of the only occasions he's actually at a disadvantage compared to the others. But then the solution ends up being "data can carry information to the next loop somehow" because of course data always has to save the day.

19 The First Duty

I mean I guess it's nice to see an episode where Wesley is in the wrong but man, this is just an incredibly awful situation. Depressing the whole way through. I didn't hate this episode, I'm mostly just shocked this is how they decided to conclude Wesley's storyline.

20 Cost of Living

This was roughly half of a pretty interesting episode about the relationship between Lwaxana and Alexander, which was left mostly unresolved in favor of a very uninteresting, completely unrelated plot in which data saves the day, again. I swear my contempt for him grows every day

21 The Perfect Mate

This episode is fine but it feels like everyone forgot that other women exist. Like it seems obvious to just have the metamorph attended to by women, but they don't even address it. Also I don't really like ferengi much, they are overly silly to the point where it detracts from the episode

22 Imaginary Friend

Another pretty unremarkable episode however I will say that I thought the actresses playing the two lead girls did an excellent job, they were really a cut above all the other child actors I've seen on this show.

23 I, Borg

I thought this one was great, It really subverted my expectations. I expected Picard to empathize with the Borg while everyone else hated it, but it was neat to see him be such an asshole and so completely wrong for once. Men will literally engineer a deadly virus instead of going to therapy

24 The Next Phase

Objectively this episode is nothing special however I am a sucker for this trope so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Rip to that one romulan, he just wanted help getting back to normal but instead he got launched into space

25 The Inner Light

The way this is an intensely traumatic experience that would take years to recover from and they're just gonna never mention it again? Oh my god? "Sorry man the family you dedicated decades of your life to is all dead. Now get up, you gotta captain this ship"

26 Time's Arrow Part 1

This feels really "small" compared to a lot of the past season finale episodes, not that thats a problem necessarily. Also i feel like the head would be the talk of the enterprise. i would be trying to get my buddy in engineering to sneak me in so i can see the head

then it turned out that his dad was a guilt tripping, manipulative, angry-drunk son of a bitch. when keith learned this, it turned his life upside down. he wanted to hate his father for hurting his mother like that, but would he be terrible for hating someone who has no way to defend themselves? but would he be just as terrible for forgiving the sins of an abuser just because they died? but that was his father, hes supposed to love him... isnt he? and is he terrible for being angry with his mother for lying to him all this time? she did it for his own good, she did it because she didnt want him to be ashamed of where he came from

he just doesnt think about it . or tries not to. but he appreciates that feeling guilty means hes trying to be good. thats what that means right...?

aidan: he has nightmares about relapsing. xe stopped smoking cigarettes when he left polly and matt, and xe keeps dreaming about starting again, and being overwhelmed by guilt until he wakes up. xe deals with it by reminding himself how long hes been cigarette free, and reminding xemself that the guilt he feels in the dream means xe has something worth fighting for. he doesnt really talk about it with anyone other than xyr online friend charlie (who is actually elsie, but neither of them realize it yet)

keith: his dreams in general are weird, and sometimes theyre bad weird. theyre abstract and hazy, and he cant explain them to anyone if he tried. but he wakes up stressed and scared... and sometimes embarrassed that he was affected that way. he deals with them by watching a funny video before going back to sleep. he doesnt talk about them cos what can he say? "had a nightmare, not sure what actually happened"

He was sitting in his studio on vlive filming another episode of Chans Room. Jisung, M/ns best friend who had joined him earlier, looked up from his phone telling him that M/n was gonna be here in a few minutes. M/n also being a trainee under JYP made it easier to see his idol boyfriend. He had recently been put into a group that was very close to debuting but was receiving quite a bit of hate for always being seen around Stray Kids and being too close to Jisung and Chan. Neither his group, AXIZ, nor Stray Kids knew about the hate that M/n was receiving as he kept it to himself. None of the members had ever seen a rude comment or post about him seeing as he was always quick to delete them or their managers distracted them, that was until M/n walked into the studio. “M/n!”, Jisung said from his spot on the couch. “Hi guys”, said boy walked over giving Jisung a high five and Chan a kiss on the cheek before sitting down. A good 30 minutes went by of the 3 of them laughing and joking around with each other and Stay. M/n looked at his phone which had the vlive open so he could see comments and seemed to notice that the veiwer count was going up really fast suddenly making him a bit nervous. Chan noticed that some of the new people coming in were XYs and said hi to M/n’s groups' fandom. While scrolling through the comments M/n started finding more and more hate directed towards him and less nice comments and questions, he only hoped that the other 2 boys didn't notice. They had stopped messing around with tracks and decided to just answer questions and interact with both fandoms some minutes later.

Jisung and M/n looked up at him from where they were playing a game together. “I don’t know why all of a sudden there's so much hate in the comments but that's not okay and the fact that you guys call yourselves Stays and XYs but are telling M/n to kill himself is fucking not acceptable”, Chan was lowkey pissed at this point and M/n was panicking cause he never planned for anyone to find out. Jisung noticed and being the caring friend he is was also pissed at the fandoms. He took m/n out of the room to help calm him down while chan continued to go off of Stays and XYs. And boy was he doing that “M/n is the most amazing, kind, beautiful, and talented person I've ever met. He tries so hard and worked to earn the spot in AXIS that he has. I will always love and be with him so sorry to break any hopes you had of getting rid of him. Giving people death threats and telling them to kill themself is never acceptable. I'm very disappointed in all of you because no one even tried to defend him at all. I'm ending this here and I don't think ill be doing another one for a while.” Chan ended the live and then went to comfort his boyfriend. A couple days later JYP released a statement saying that the debut of AXIS was to be postponed until further notice seeing as other members and JYP himself were very upset with the fandoms and to give M/n some time.

Lee Know

Lee knows being the tsundere ish person he is probably found out by himself when you weren't around and wasn't too happy about it. Minho was scrolling through Instagram on his secret personal account liking some of M/ns photos and a few edits of AXIS that he had found. He got a notification that you're group account had just posted, he had nothing better to do went to go look at it. He saw a picture of the whole group laughing and sitting on the floor in one of the many practice rooms in the JYP building. He smiled as you looked so happy sitting and talking with your members, he definitely couldn't wait until they debuted and he could shower his boyfriend in more love and support than he already does. He was going to go comment something stupid and funny like he usually does on the group posts but stops when he looked at them taking a little minute to read some of them.

AXISOT4: 5 is an odd number for AXIS and honestly they should just get rid of M/n and make it better

After posting that he quickly got dressed in sweatpants and his shoes before exiting his dorm in a hurry quickly telling his members that he’d be back later. He speeds to the AXIS dorm where he knows M/n will be. Minho knocks on the door and it is immediately opened by Juno the leader of AXIS. “Oh Minho I'm glad you’re here, M/n won't leave his room, and he's been crying since earlier this morning when the group photos were posted.” Minho nodded hurriedly, “Yeah I saw the comments and came immediately”. “Well come in, he's in his room and I'm sure he'll be more than happy for you to here with him through this.” Although it took Minho a little while to convince M/n to open the door and let him in when he finally did, Lee know made sure to give M/n his hoodie and spend the rest of the night cuddling him and trying to make him feel better while the rest of AXIS (especially the Hyung line) addressed the hate towards their youngest. 

Changbin Seo

The whole group of Stray Kids was sitting in one of the practices rooms messing around on vlive. Some of them were dancing, others were joking and talking to the Stays, and a few were sitting on their phones. Changbin and Seungmin were sitting on one of the couches watching everyone mess around and scrolling. The lovely pig bunny boy was smiling looking through the pictures of M/n saved on his phone when he got a notification from the AXIS VLive account.

He quickly connected his headphones clicking on the notification. He smiled wider when he saw the big smiles of M/n and Xiao as they said hello to all the XYs and people in the live. The stays noticed that his smile got bigger and a lot of people commented and cooed at him. “ ‘Changbin looks so happy and it's adorable’ ”, Felix looked back at him after reading that and smiled looking back at the camera, “yeah M/n probably texted him, they're so cute together”. Changbin was watching the live with Seungmin looking over his shoulder every once in a while. M/n and Xiao were playing around showing each other the tricks they can do and the different levels of flexibility they have. They were inside of one of the practice rooms not too far from the one skz is in. Eventually, they got tired and sat down to joke around and talk with their fandom. Changbin was smiling watching how happy M/n looked playing and talking with his fellow Manake. “I honestly don't know what I would've done if me and M/n didn't makeup back then.”, Xiao said smiling with his arm around M/n and messing up his hair. After he said that there were a lot of comments of confusion on what he meant by that so they decided to explain what happened. M/n swatted his Hyung by a few months' hand away before speaking, “When we were tiny little trainees like 2 years ago, me and Xiao used to butt heads a lot. Changbin and Seungmin laughed at the adorable interaction between the two, Changbin had given him one of his headphones a little while after he noticed he was watching it in silence. After they had told the story the comments of the live blew up in reactions, some good but most bad. As they were reading the comments, Suengmin realized that most of the bad ones were directed at M/n. Eventually the two maknaes started to read the comments again.

In the Skz practice room there is a visibly angry changbin and upset suengmin. The rest of the live they danced around and practiced but everyone could see that M/n wasn't all there. After it was over the amount of time that their manager wanted them to be live for Xiao was quick to come over to the camera out of breath and signing off. “Sorry but this will be the end of the live, i don't know when the next Makane live will be but it will probably not be in 2 days as scheduled.” Xiao was honestly annoyed and sorta pissed off at the fans but tried his best to keep a smile on his face. Xiao waved M/n, who was previously standing in front of the mirror still marking choreo, over to say goodbye even though he didn't want to. M/n quickly said goodbye with a fake bright smile and a wave before going back to the mirrors to continue working on the choreography. The live then ended with Xiao waving and M/n dancing in the background. Changbin got off the vlive app and texted M/n that he wants to see him when the SKZ live ends. For the rest of the live Changbin was seen angry as hell sloached with his arms crossed. Some stays made a comment on how hot he looked and the others kinda laughed it off and changed the topic when they saw how mad he was and the look Suengmin was giving them.

When the Stray kids' live finally ended Changbin was quick to grab his stuff and run to the practice room 3ish doors down from the one he was in, leaving Seungmin to explain to their leader and other members what had happened. When he bursted into the room he saw a very tired and very sweaty M/n who had gotten very spooked when Changbin came in suddenly while he was practicing. Changbin took one look at M/n and didn't say anything, just opening his arms for him. M/n didn't hesitate to run straight into his boyfriend's strong comforting arms. M/n started to cry and breakdown after over an hour of holding it all in and overworking himself. Changbin just held him and let him cry before picking him up and taking him over to the couches where he gave him all the comfort, love and reassurance M/n could ever need. Changbin spent the rest of the day and night in the AXIS dorm with M/n. The next day there were many posts and articles about the situation and JYP was quick to do something about it, giving AXIS a break to help M/n and say multiple things about the ongoing hate.

Hwang Hyunjin

Similar to Lee Know, M/n wasn’t present when the lovely Drama Llama found out about the hatred towards him. The hate has come from both XYs and Stays, and has been happening for the past few months. M/n never told anyone about all the hate not wanting to worry his members or upset the members of Stray Kids plus his boyfriend. He had planned to keep it a secret from them all as long as he could. Well that was until Hyunjin had found out about it by himself during one of his personal lives. Hyunjin was reading comments and answering, having fun as he usually does when someone asks about M/n. “ ‘How's you and M/n going?’ Oh! We’re doing good! He treats me so well and I love him so much!”, he smiles at the camera and a lot of stays cooed at how big his smile was and the amount of love you could see in his eyes. Hyunjin was going on telling some random story about M/n that he found cute and some of the wholesome stays were awwing along with him. He had finished his little story with a smile on his face reading the comments. He was answering more questions when a certain one stuck out to him.

S/NEndgame: How do you feel about all the hate M/n has been getting? 

Hyunjin looked at the camera very confused. “M/nnie is getting hate? Why didn't I know? Noone has told me and I haven't seen it!”, he got more and more upset the more he spoke. One stay had sent a link to a short video that someone made talking about the hate towards M/n. In said video there was a clip from one of M/n’s personal lives, where someone had asked why neither of groups had said anything about the hate or hinted towards knowing, they also added a side comment and said it probably because they hate M/n as well anyways. M/n’s response to that was, “They haven't said anything about it because they don't know. I delete all comments before the members can see them, don't ever bring it up, and the only people that know are my manager and Stray Kids’ Manager and they work together with me to make sure they don't find out so it's all good!”, M/n managed to say all that with a smile on his face and that was even more sad. It then skipped to another clip where a worried fan had asked why he didn't tell any of them especially Hyunjin, he responded with another smile “I don't want to worry all of my members when we’re so close to debut and that’ll just push us farther back, and Stray Kids has so many other things to worry about, I also don't wanna stress out Hyunjin I love him too much to do that to him! Not even JYP himself knows. I don't want to be a bother, I can deal with it”. By the end of the 3 minute video Hyunjin was slightly crying and very upset. He asked the Stays if they had known about this and the answer to him was alarming. A small percent of  Stays said that they didn't  know, another small percent did know but promised M/n never to tell but the other half of the Stays they had a different opinion. Comments upon comments fled into the small space of the phone screen, he could only catch and read so many of them but he knew the majority of them were hate towards M/n. 

FuckM/n: honestly he deserves the hate, it's not like he's actually talented.

Hyunjin started crying more by the time he read those comments and the hundreds of ones just like it. His first thought was to immediately check on his boyfriend and ask him thousands of questions. He knew though that the first thing he’d have to do was deal with this situation first. He looked at the camera with tears streaming down his face. “Why would you guys say that about M/n! He is amazing and talented and so handsome! I love him more than anything in the world! He is the reason I perform so well for you guys, the reason I learned to love myself so much, and the reason I am as happy as I am every single day! The fact that you would say that about any person is absolutely horrible! But you have the nerve to talk bad and wish death on the love of my life and talk about the anxiety and struggle he has been facing for the past few years! I truly don't understand how you could say that about anyone. But you have the nerve to hate on him and wish him more self-harm and then turn around and say I'm your bias?!” Hyunjin shook his head, willing himself to stop crying. “That's horrible, I dislike that very much. Either you guys apologize to him or stop calling yourself a stay. I can guarantee that the rest of Stray Kids and AXIS feel this way as well. I'm signing off now, don't expect another live or any bubble messages any time soon.” Hyunjin turned the live off and then ran out of his room down the hall into AXIS’ dorm straight into M/n's room. The other members thought nothing of it with this being sorta normal. M/n turned to the door when he saw him and smiled “hi baby!”. Hyunjin walked straight over to him and pulled his hoodie sleeve up looking at the various cuts sadly and starting to cry again. “Why didn't you tell me about this and the hate!” M/n looked away ashamed and shocked that he found out, “I didn't want to be a bother or a burden on you” Hyunjin immediately looked up at him kissing all over his face and down his neck and arms to accentuate every word he said, “Doll You Will Never Be A Burden Nor A Bother To me Ever” After placing one final kiss to his arms, the rest of the day was spent with the tall blonde patching up his boyfriends arms properly and clinging to him with the promise that they'd tell their CEO and both respective groups first thing in the morning about the issue on hand. 

AUTHORS NOTE: By the length of some of these you can clearly tell who my bias is and when my writer's block had finally left me T~T but This took me way longer to write than I'd like to admit. But it's finally done and I can post for the first time in awhile, i'm sorry this took so long but with school, thousands of doctor appointments and the drama I ended up getting caught in the middle of I had like no free time to write T_T and then my personal computer broke so now I’m stuck writing on my school computer all the time but I promise as soon as I come back from spring break I will find a good posting schedule.

Yes I can totally see this happening! After being with the group for a long time he suprising got super used to physical touch and actually loves it, his love might be rough at times but he has a good intentions with his aggressive love. He's stronger and bigger then most of the group so its easy to pin them under each of his arms. He'll grumble and push them back down if they try to get up. He got this habit from his mom(she was way gentler obviously) because when he was a kid he would refuse naps so she would pin him under her arm until he fell asleep. If any of the boys are getting too stressed,overworking themselves, and or losing sleep, trust me, Vance will find out and he'll be coming for them, snatching them up and carrying them off to take a nap. He knows the boys wont take breaks without him so he's more than happy to help. (I swear Vance is in his mom arc rn)

Their reactions:

Griffin: he just goes limp when Vance carries him but is the most stubborn to put to sleep. He'll wiggle out of Vance's grip and run out of the room not wanting a nap. He'll never gets far, getting picked up and laid back down with a firmer grip on the squirmy boy. Vance will end up scolding griffin a bit "I don't care if you don't want to nap, you are getting one, I will stay here for hours don't test me." But it never takes more than 10 minutes before he and griffin are passed out

Billy: Billy is an absolute stress ball, he loses a lot of sleep when he is stressed and will pace back and forth across the living room and bite the inside of his cheek. Vance will be watching for awhile then announce "ok its nap time come here". Billy doesn't fight it anymore, learning from that one time he got a bad scolding from Vance because he kept trying to leave . He'll just follow Vance to the room and cuddle up next to him and knock out.

Bruce: Bruce is better at managing stress and rarely gets Vance's naps, but when he does he doesn't believe he needs one. He will refuse and refuse until Vance just gets fed up and grabs him, putting him over his shoulder, throwing him on the bed and wrapping his whole body around Bruce so he cant escape. Bruce accepts his fate at this point and drifts off to sleep

Robin: Robin is the easiest to wind down. He is an absolute cuddle bug and soaks up any attention so its not too hard to get him to nap. He might be a bit grumpy, maybe mumble a few curse words but a glare from Vance usually shuts him up

Finney: Finney is the more responsible one of the group and gets very overwhelmed and stressed. He tends to overwork himself. He'll deny a nap saying "what if something happens, what if they need help with homework or something?" Vance will then scoff and look at Bruce "hey Bruce mind if you take care of this zoo while Finney gets some sleep" Bruce will shoot him a thumbs up and turn away focused on something else. "No more excuses come on let's go to bed they will be fine"

Finney: "Come on Vance its nap time."

Vance: "What did you say?"

Finney: "nap time? You seem overwhelmed"

Vance: "no I don't need that go away"

Finney just kinda glares and grabs Vance's hand tugging him to the room. Vance is hesitant at first, not used to someone doing this to him, but eventually melts into Finney finding someone caring about him deeply comforting.

even when you told her you were bound to die and spending any time with you was a waste didn’t turn her away. all that followed was morning breakfasts and afternoon walks in the middle of new york.

natasha knew, she just wasn’t ready. all the years spent around you never quite prepared her for the one thing she should’ve already accepted.

it was only a matter of time before the side effects of your powers started to kick in. all your life you’d hoped to live past thirty-five like the miracle stories you’d heard about. historically, other x-men with your disease had lived to be well into their sixties before finally passing.

natasha wiped your mouth before tossing the used tissue into the trash. she brushed her fingernails into your hair, placing a kiss above your eye.

“someday, natasha. for now just think about how cool i was before getting sick. my powers were so much better than captain america’s stupid shield.”

the redhead hummed in agreement. “yeah, they were. i just wish your powers didn’t end up poisoning your body like they’re doing now.”

three days after your conversation, natasha woke up to you already gone. she held your funeral instead of the beautiful wedding she’d planned for.

grief settled in her heart permanently. it wasn’t something you’d want for her, she knew that, but you weren’t here to tell her otherwise.

natasha found the dumbest things to be upset over. two months after your death and she still found it hard to look at dogs. and even if she knew it was stupid, dogs still brought tears to the ex assassin’s eyes.

all it did was remind her of the fact that she couldn’t fulfill your dying wish. the only things that remained of you were pictures and videos, some clothing and a journal you tucked away from her while you were still alive. natasha only knew now that it was full of everything you loved about her, something she’d never be able to repay.

mourning your death was one off the most excruciating things natasha ever allowed herself to go through. but for the time being, she held onto every piece left of you as close to her heart as she could.

Hi, I was reading your post about Jason punching Dick in the face when Dick revealed he fake his death was bullshit ( which it was) and it reminded me of an issue/question that has bothered me for sometime.

Why did people believe Dick was actually dead?

I’m not the most avid comic reader so maybe I missed something but it was always weird to me that everyone just accepted this especially given how Bruce was acting or should I say wasn’t acting.

This is a man when his child died another child had to come along and told him sir you are being too violent and emotional you need supervision. When his other child died he went all over the universe to bring him back to life because he knew it was possible ( which was happening at the same time), so why didn’t anyone think it was weird he wasn’t doing that for Dick. Can you imagine Dick really dying that soon after Damian it would be injustice Batman Version. You are telling me that Tim, Jason or Barbara didn’t think it was weird that Bruce didn’t also bring Dick’s corpse to the bring Damian back to life mission or mention it to themselves. Like what more likely Dick dead and Bruce is handling it well or that he fake his death to do something stupid and Dangerous after his partner/brother/ little bit my son the feelings are complicated died after he was knocked out and woke up to his corpse.

Oh man, this is like, the entire nature of my beef?

(Slight derail just to emphasize the fact real quick that Dick DID actually die, he was just revived quickly, but like, the trauma of his death was very real and its not like anyone was clued into Luthor having a resurrection backdoor built into his literal murder of Dick in the actual moment of it happening. So Dick’s death wasn’t fake, and additionally, he didn’t have anything to do with like, telling people about it, because he was literally comatose in the cave and recovering while Bruce was telling people....by the time Dick woke up in the cave, we already know that Alfred at least had already been convinced by Bruce that Dick was dead, so I have a kneejerk need to pushback against the Dick faked his death narrative by reminding people wherever possible that Dick had no agency in the spreading of that narrative. 

It happened without him being involved, and the only actual contribution he ever made to it was just not revealing he was alive before Grayson #12, after Bruce like.....emotionally, mentally and physically badgered him into accepting that doing so would be directly harmful to his family and he didn’t want to be the reason more people died when like, people had just died because he ‘let’ himself be captured and interrogated by Power Woman’s Lasso of Submission, did he?

SORRY TO BE PEDANTIC, just wanted to start this off on a clarification, even though I know the aim of your ask was very much in tune with the rest of my response. A lot of people don’t read the actual comics, so like, I’m never gonna skip over an opportunity to emphasize that the shorthand people use to refer to Dick’s death and the year he was with Spyral, is like, literally just shorthand for describing it. Its not actually an accurate description of how all that went down and who had the most hand in it).

BUT ANYWAY. BACK TO THE MEAT OF THE BEEF.

Okay so like, not only was the entire family and Bruce himself giving Dick shit for his death and Spyral, like, PAINFULLY egregious because it was literal victim blaming in every possible sense of the word....

None of it made a LICK of sense with ANY of their characterizations, and they ONLY all accepted it on face value because the Plot Demanded It, and when you're like, no, as a reader I say The Plot Demanded It is not a good enough reason for me to be like well sure, that makes sense......looking at the characters ACTUAL actions at face value pretty much just makes them all look like assholes?

Like, Tim has never gracefully accepted anyone's death. Ever. This is core characterization for him. He will go to the ends of the earth for his loved ones and to bring them back, prove they're not dead, refuse to let death be the final verdict for them. He was tempted to use the Lazarus Pit to bring his parents back to life. He refused to accept Bruce was dead long before he had any proof whatsoever of that theory. He tried to clone his BFF/future-husband Kon in his fucking basement like, dude was two whole inches away from going Full Dark Side in his quest to bring back a lost loved one no matter WHAT the cost.....and then you've got Dick unmasked onscreen, killed offscreen, and Bruce then reporting to the rest of them with zero inflection 'oh Dick's dead now. Its very sad' and Tim's just like, sure. Sounds legit.

I mean?!?!

And you're SO RIGHT ABOUT THE DAMIAN THING! Bruce LITERALLY LITERALLY LITERALLY went BEYOND the ends of the Earth, like, he full on chartered a fucking space ship to fly his whole family out to APOKOLIPS to bring Damian back from the dead by going to EXTREME lengths.....WHILE everyone else thought Dick was dead....

And not a single person looked at Bruce and was like, okay, not that we're not down to do this for Damian because we miss Stabby Smurf something fierce ourselves, but.....what the fuck is UP with you dude? Why aren't you displaying ANY hint of this same kind of energy in regards to your eldest son that you said you watched die right in front of you?

Like....I don't know that we were actually ever told that Dick's coffin was empty or had a fake in it, but like....this family of detectives who refuse to accept death, defy death, COME BACK FROM THE DEAD....not a single one of them said like, okay, if I'm gonna like, ACCEPT accept that Dick is dead and gone for good, I need to at least just see him one last time? That's literally all it would have taken for someone to realize hey something's a little wonky here. Where's the dead body, Pops?

Since when has Jason ever missed an opportunity to prove Bruce is a) full of shit, b) acting like an emotionless robot and all his kids deserve better especially when they've just like....died, c) just factually incorrect and wrong and jumped to a conclusion before it was conclusively proved, d) lying like a liar or e) all of the above?

Nobody even ASKED if Dick's body could be put in a Lazarus Pit? Yeah, Jason wouldn't necessarily recommend it himself, given what it put him through, but actually fuck that, I take that back, because I'm NOT actually of the opinion that Jason full on hates his life and actively spends every second of every day wishing he hadn't been resurrected, even if it had come with a huge buffet of additional trauma and pain.

And that's kinda what's implied when people just take it for granted that he would never be on board with any scenario involving using a Lazarus Pit to bring Dick back, because it suggests that based even just on his own experiences and feelings, he honestly believes Dick would prefer being dead and not have ANY further opportunities to be with his loved ones, his friends, help save the damn world again at some future point.....that Jason, projecting based just off himself, legit feels Dick would rather be dead than have another shot at life even WITH the downsides of Lazarus Pit usage? Nope. Sorry, I don't buy it.

Speaking of not buying it.....you know what was missing from all those soliloquies the others monologued at Dick about how they felt and were hurt and just devastated by his death, to such a point they can't seem to muster a single shred of happiness that he's NOT dead still -

(seriously, Damian was the ONLY person in ALL THE LANDS OF EMOTION-HAVING who expressed ANY kind of positive reaction to having Dick back. We were so fucking cheated of like.....ANY opportunity to have the characters show just how much they valued him by just being fucking HAPPY he was alive, no matter what else was involved....and then most of fandom compounded that by for years being like mmmm, no, Dick didn't get yelled at enough by his family for what HE put THEM through. Needs more yelling. More punching too. Bad Dick. Bad. This is the only way you'll learn not to die and get shipped off on a mission that you don't want but at least is to protect your family after being beaten into it by your dad whilst victim blaming you for dying in the first place. You're telling me that the explanation of Dick's death didn't come with a single pointed finger at someone for this family of blame-happy vigilantes to like, BLAME for the loss of this brother they all mourned oh so much, they just couldn't help but blame him for all the hurt it caused them?

The family that in every other fic is like OBSESSED with avenging and being avenged and all things vengeful and even tangentially vengeance-y....like didn't ask for a single detail on whomst the fuck deprived us of our brother-having?

Where were the attempts on Luthor's life by Jason (who I mean, yeah I know it was in a previous continuity, but erasing that timeline doesn't erase my awareness of the time Dick killed Jason's murderer so like.....mmm, just saying, woulda been nice)....where was the rage directed at the Crime Syndicate and references to how seriously and personally the Batfam took making sure that they were PUNISHED for all this and would never be free to wreak havoc on their world or their family again? What did they tell Damian when he came back to life, and how are you going to tell me that this fraternal little ball of fury didn't aim himself like a cannonball at whomever the fuck had DARED take HIS Batman from him when Damian wasn't around to have his back?

Not only does everyone else's desire to be avenged start falling really flat the second you factor in hey maybe Dick feels "mmm what about MY avenging" sometimes, and why doesn't anyone ever care about doing that for him.....but also, y'know what REALLY sucks about the ONLY person we actually SEE being blamed for Dick's death and ensuing absence being like....Dick himself?

Not only were his family all super keen on making all of this HIS fault and HIM the bad guy because of how it made them all feeeeeeel (and meanwhile fuck his feelings, am I right Batfam hfaklshfklahfkla).....

They somehow found a way to justify prioritizing this OVER ever even getting around to blaming some villain for his death in the FIRST place, in the entire year or so they thought he was still dead!

Like, you couldn't come up with a single target in all that time, but Dick's back two seconds, and you don't even give him a chance to EXPLAIN before you're punching him, shutting him down with 'I expected better from you' and turning away with 'I don't want to hear it, why am I surprised Dick Grayson disappointed me again'?

And like, it won't, cuz it doesn't, and it never will, and like I said at the top, the ONLY reason it all played out this way is because DC doesn't give a fuck about character development and deemed it necessary to go down this way for the sake of the plot (which was totes worth it, I mean, glad we sacrificed characters for this A+ plot which was clearly the greatest plot of all time and definitely justified every story choice made or not made around it loooool).

BUT.

BUT BUT BUT.

The problem isn't JUST that DC is stupid, even though that is an eternal mood and quite the problem.

Its that the SECOND large parts of fandom decided to play along with DC and just accept the story at face value, only add to it and play into it exactly as it happened in canon with no significant deviations, and like, heaping on the LITERAL abuse from Dick's siblings while ignoring the LITERAL abuse from his father....

THAT....is when all of this becomes relevant.

Because the second people decided TO engage with the reasoning DC gave for what Bruce did and how and what Dick did and how and just not mess with any of that and have it all play out exactly like that...

The second people are like, okay we're FINE with not just dismissing this story as OOC writing that doesn't make any sense, and actually VALIDATING it to various degrees by engaging with it as is....

That's when 'OOC writing' stops being an excuse or explanation for alllll of the above gaps in character logic and actions.

Because its like, when you had abundant chance to REJECT this story and say nope, this was bullshit from start to finish and I'm not here for it, when you were just as capable of transforming literally ANY aspect of this story you didn't like into something that made more sense to you....

And you chose not to.

And that's when I'm like okay cool, so when engaging with this story as is and accepting it on face value and just delving into the characters as they were SHOWN interacting with and around these events......for the angst or whatever....

You guys just all decided en masse to just hop, skip and jump over allllllllll the opportunities for angst inherent in examining even ANY SINGLE ONE of the above lapses in judgment or hypocrisy on the parts of the characters (who don't get to be excused by OOC writing if you're not going to call the story an example of OOC writing, whoops).

Alright, alright, I caved.

After a slot opened up in me to be able to take on another show emotionally, I decided to invest in OwlHouse. I thought I would probably like it, but it won me over faster than I thought it would.

I’ve already watched a few episodes, but I realized that it might be more fun to do liveblogs, so here I am - with a liveblog...

I will be doing this episode by episode, and probably releasing them every once in a while. Everything will be under a cut, however, to save you all dash space.

Episode 1!!

Fair warning - this is technically not a ‘live’ blog, because I have already watched some of the show before deciding to do this, but I’ll still react to them to round things out.

Immediately, this reminds me of Little Witch Academia... Anyone? No? Only me? I feel like maybe I’m getting my wires crossed, but there HAD to have been some inspiration taken from there?

Love the realistic bilingual kid experience of replying in English when your mom talks to you in your native language. Universal.

Love this introduction of Eda’s character. She’s got that little green scarf on and everything. Like a tiny trash grandma.

Oooh, okay, let’s extrapolate...

Lots of bones everywhere. I kinda love the aesthetic here - it’s gross and visceral, kind of like what Luz was making with her school projects. Yet in the middle of it all we have a rather clear gothic looking structure. Is this a power imbalance in the supposed kingdom?

The five circles of stained glass seem to perhaps indicate something like Hogwarts houses? Several different types of magic?

But Luz has no reason to freak out as much as she is - she LOVES weird stuff! Haha... No, I kid, I kid. I get it.

Wow, what a DRAMATIC reveal for some pointy ears. :) I love her.

We should all aspire to have such cool and stylistically well put together wanted posters. You can tell the commissioned artist really respects her craft.

Okay, okay, enough shenanigans, let’s have some LORE.

I love this landscape. Teeth or bones, or whatever they are, this is one of the more unique settings we’ve gotten, though maybe I’m prejudiced because I love body horror and bones. The darker orange and red themes fit really well here.

Things I’m desperate for: Giraffe Lore 

Things I’m more desperate for: Eda lore. Why do her limbs fall off? Is she a zombie?

Things I’m not quite as desperate for: Hooty lore. He can keep that to himself.

well hello there mysterious chekhov’s glyph which will DEFINITELY not be relevant in the second chapter (or end of season? Maybe? Idk it just seems important).

Ah, yes. That would have been my reaction as well, to be fair. Somehow I didn’t expect to see this guy so early on. I figured he would be a low stress early villain that got assimilated into the Found Family. Kinda psyched that he’s just there from the start.

....I’m just gonna presume this is all true and accept it at face value.

Old Escape The Cops Lady and Tiny Little Demon King, I need your backstory. How did you meet.

I love looking at background details, because like... you can tell the BG artists had fun. I particularly love how the 3 eyed toad doesn’t actually have any reward attached to her. Though the Knife Baby does intrigue me!

Confession - when I initially saw ads for this show, I expected Eda to be a villain, not a loveable middle aged witch aunt figure. I am shockingly even MORE drawn to her this way. I expected betrayal. I expected her to be a lowkey threat?? But no. She’s just wholesome in the way a solid raccoon is.

If I had to pinpoint the exact moment this show won me over...... it would probably be this one.

I know it’s probably the wrong thing to focus on, but what is that insignia? Wings??? Like.... the kind OWLS HAVE?????

I’m really loving the landscape here. And those fireworks are... hmm... intricate?

Gotta love the old tried and true Witch Apprentice Actually A Live In Intern trope. :)

Overall rating: I think this is a cute overall beginning. The prison break went hard! I enjoyed the characters and it kind of surprised me in a lot of ways. It definitely does a great job setting up a world with a lot more to explore while giving us a small taste of cool magic stuff and witchy battles. :)

𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓 #𝟑: Female Public Figures Dating Men with Questionable Views That Contradict Their Image & Alleged Politics

𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗥: These rant blog posts are really just reflective of my thoughts at the time that I make them and are posted here because I need an outlet to release all of this shit I have going on my busy ass mind. That’s it and that’s all. Now let’s get into it..

This rant was greatly inspired by none other than Ms. Robyn Rihanna “Tell Your Faves To Pull Up [in regards to social injustices directly affecting black people]” Fenty and her openly colorist boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. Aside from the fact that Rihanna tends to slip under the radar and is never held accountable for her problematic ways due to her conventional beauty (i.e. Her heavy usage of anti-Asian slurs, particularly targeted towards Chris Brown’s ex gf, Karrueche), it’s very alarming that a woman who has an entire makeup brand with a campaign based around the inclusivity of ALL black women is publicly flaunting a beau who once said that DSBW do not look good with red lipstick.

And yes, I’m very much aware that Rakim said this tasteless comment over 8 years ago but from the looks of it, not much has really changed with him. Don’t @ me about it neither because I don’t care.

Also peep how he compares a hypothetical darkskinned woman to a man (Wesley Snipes) while trying to explain how his antiblackness isn’t wrong because he said something about white women as well. Gaslighting at its finest. Don’t you just love it! 😀

Furthermore, you would think that somebody of Rihanna’s level of stature would know not to associate themselves with someone as messy as A$AP Rocky but... Stupid is what stupid does, I guess! I can’t even begin to place the blame on him anymore because he’s revealed his true colors and we all have made the deliberate choice to either accept it or don’t and have discontinued all support for him. Unfortunately, misogynoir is never the dealbreaker for most people and the hatred for [dark-skinned] black women is so engrained in society that it’s frowned upon when we publicly speak out against it. Very ass backwards if you ask me but that’s society for you. Now, enough about that. Let’s focus back on Ms. Vita La Coco.

As a woman who claims to be a girl’s girl and is always presenting herself to be someone who is the epitome of a pro-black feminist bad ass, it just makes her alleged activism come off so disingenuous when she’s also laying down with the same man that actively attacks the demographic she’s supposed to be standing in solidarity with. It’s “Black Lives Matter” on the IG posts but your vagina is getting moist for a man who openly stated he doesn’t relate to what goes on in Ferguson because he lives in Soho & Beverly Hills. Ferguson being the exact place where a 17-year-old black boy’s lifeless corpse laid on the hot concrete for FOUR hours after he was murdered by a police officer. He couldn’t 'relate' to the fate of so many black men, women, and children who are murdered or seriously injured from state-sanctioned violence because they’re poor and he is not or so he thought.

But then again, what can I really expect from a woman who identified as being “biracial” until as recent as roughly 6 years ago? What can I really expect from a woman who called Rachel Dolezal a ‘hero’ for cosplaying as a black woman? I’d be lying if I said my expectations for her were high in this regard because sis has always shown us she was lacking in this department. And just for the record, this is not a personal attack on Rihanna at all for the die-hard Navy stans in the back. I admire her latest fashions and bop my head to her music just like the next person but she’s getting the side-eye from me on this one.

Trust and believe me though, she’s not the only woman who I can call out for being a hypocrite. Of course not! This stone can be cast at a few others. So without further ado, why don’t we bring Ms. Kehlani Parrish to the front of the congregation? Prior to Kehlani’s recent declaration of identifying as a lesbian, her last public relationship with a man was with YG. Yes, the same YG who felt it was necessary to say him & Nipsey had ‘pretty light-skinned’ daughters to raise in the middle of his deceased friend’s memorial. By the way, Nipsey’s daughter is not even light (or at least not in my book anyways.) She’s a very deep caramel tone just like her father which makes what he said even more moronic. Yes, the same YG who thought it was clever idea to use slavery as an aesthetic for a music video to a diss track about 6ix9ine. And yes, also the same YG who has derogatory lyrics targeted at bisexual women. Just to end up sweating the red carpets with one. I swear the jokes just continue to write themselves.

This raises the question once more; How high of a pedestal can I really put a multiracial woman who has a song titled ‘N*ggas’ and when received backlash for the song in question, she used the ultimate ‘I’m mixed’ copout while not having a visibly black parent in sight?

It’s also kind of suspicious to me that many were not privy to Kehlani’s secret romance with Victoria Monét (pictured bottom right) until Victoria did an interview with Gay Times revealing she fell in love with a girl but they subsequently broke up because Victoria had a boyfriend and that girl was pregnant in a polyamorous relationship. Fans began to speculate because both Victoria & Kehlani previously candidly spoke about their sexual orientations, Kehlani had just had Adeya and they both were seemingly close. Their short-lived fling would later be confirmed when Victoria released the song ‘Touch Me’ on her last project and Kehlani hopped on the remix. Meanwhile, Kehlani’s relationship with Shaina (pictured bottom left) was very overt and all over her Instagram feed from my recollection. And as you can see, Shaina looks absolutely nothing like Victoria. They look like the complete opposite of eachother in every aspect which is kind of alarming(?) to say the least because why is it that the women she proudly claims as her partners tend to have a very racially ambiguous look such as herself but her ‘sneaky links’ on the other hand are undoubtedly black women? Again, it could just be me jumping conclusions. You know, I’m kinda good for that however something tells me I’m not. Y’all be the judge of the material though.

Last but not least, I’d like to touch on Ms. Raven Tracy very briefly. I was very weary about even including in this segment and if I should just put her in a entirely separate blog post with other women who openly date abusers despite their checkered past (alongside Nicki Minaj & her r*pist murderer of a husband, India Love & Sheck Wes etc.) being this particular blog post was based around the theme of lightskinned/mixed women dating men with extremely problematic views about DSBW. Raven obviously isn’t lightskinned or mixed however I refused to ignore how contradictory her [former] relationship with an alleged (I used this word very loosely and mainly for legality purposes.) serial r*pist while promoting a brand that is all about feminism & body positivity. This also traces back to A$AP Rocky by default being that Ian Connor is his very close friend and he came to Connor’s defense when several women came forward detailing accounts of Connor allegedly s*xually assaulting them. (I wish I could place the actual video of what A$AP Rocky said verbatim but Tumblr only allows one video per blog post. 🙄)

Back in June of this year, Ian & Raven had a back & forth on Twitter after Ian tweeted about Raven “fucking everybody” behind his back. I can only assume that he was alluding to Tori Brixx posting a video of her ex, Rich the Kid & Raven kissing on her story. Disgusted is not even the word to describe my feeling when she admitted she stuck by Ian despite of his many allegations of s*xual abuse because she loved him and her being a empath causes her to want to help everybody. Imagine aiding and abetting a predator and even paying for his bail & legal fees just to turn around and expect sympathy because this same individual cheated on you and exploited you all over Twitter for the public to see. The same man that you would get back with not even a WEEK after the fact & turn off your IG comments because it isn’t our “business” after making it our business...

That being said, I just genuinely want to know: Why do these women completely go against what they stand for in regards to these men? Maybe it was never genuine from jump street and if that’s the case, why jump on the bandwagon of performative activism? Is it because it’s profitable right now? Is it because disrespecting black women is not an immediate death sentence to your careers and more often than not actually helps you advance even further? I guess that’s the billion dollar question that’ll never truly be answered. I just want the world to stop using black women as their stepping stool to get to where they need to go and then discarding of us when we’re no longer beneficial. Support us all the way or don’t support us at all. We deal with enough disrespect as is so we’d appreciate if y’all would stop straddling the fence and partake in your misogynoir out loud if that’s what you choose to do. We have no use for fake allyship and quite frankly, it’s doing more harm for us than good. Please and thank you!
