Don Vicente FernĂĄndez, also known as "El Charro de HuentitĂĄn" and the "King of Rancheras" is present in more than just your Mexican parents' vinyl collection. Throughout his career, Chente, as he is lovingly referred to by his fans, has distinguished himself by taking Mexican music around the world throwing the longest concerts on the most renowned stages — making a name not only for himself but also for the popular love ballads and ranchera music that characterize MĂ©xico.
Five years after he announced his farewell from the stage, his songs continue to be an inspiration to people in Latin American countries, México and the U.S., shaping cultures and musical tastes as his rancheras cast stories of sorrow, hope, love and especially Mexican pride for all to enjoy.
As the world waits on news of his recovery after a fall that left him in critical condition this week, we tell you a little bit about the Mexican mariachi icon that has forever left his mark in the music scene in the U.S.
A Mexican legend celebrated in the US
FernĂĄndez was born in 1940 in a town called HuentitĂĄn El Alto, in the state of Jalisco.
His career in music started at an early age, winning talent shows and serenading young women alongside the mariachis of his town. As soon as he got the green light from CBS México, now known as Sony Music, in 1966, he hit the ground running and hasn't stopped since.
Chente recorded more than 100 albums, sold over 70 million copies, starred in 34 films in Mexican cinema and recorded more than 300 songs. He went on to produce great hits like "Volver, Volver," "Por Tu Maldito Amor," "Hermoso Cariño" and "El Rey," a song that very much does justice to his moniker as King of Rancheras.
But the kid from Huentitån El Alto never forgets that all he has achieved is thanks to those who have supported him: his family, his studio and, of course, his fans.
“As long as you don't stop clapping, your Chente doesn't stop singing," he would tell his fans while he belted out his songs on stage. True to his word, he was known for having concerts that lasted at least 4 hours.
He did just that in 2016 when he said his goodbye to the stage during a free farewell concert in México City at Azteca Stadium. After that he retired to his home, a ranch called Los Tres Potrillos, just outside of Guadalajara. He hasn't stopped composing music though.
Chente has received countless honors, especially as his music made its way to the U.S.
He was awarded the Mr. Amigo Review Award in Brownsville, Texas, in 1977. In 1982, he received the keys to San Antonio, Texas, from then-Mayor Henry Cisneros. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1998 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Billboard magazine.
In the fall of 1999, Fernández toured promoting his new CD, “Eternamente” in which he paid tribute to the distinguished group “Los Dandys” from Mexico. That year, Fernández was nominated for the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award at the Latin Rhythm Awards at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
In 2000, Fernández performed “Cielito Lindo” at the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia.
Chente stayed on the charts for many years, with two albums of his greatest hits. "Historia de un ídolo Volumen I," a 17-song album released in 2000, included some of his hits like “Lástima que Seas Ajena," “Me Voy a Quitar de en Medio” and “Nos Estorbó la Ropa.”
Thanks to these productions he received the RIAA Double Platinum certification.
He also received the Billboard Latin Music Award for Greatest Hits Album of the Year for "Historia de un Ădolo Volumen II," presented in 2002, containing hits “El Rey," “De QuĂ© Manera te Olvido” and “Volver, Volver."
That same year, he again achieved success with his single “El Ayudante” from his album “MĂĄs con el NĂșmero Uno."
Tumblr media
Also in 2001, FernĂĄndez and his son Alejandro FernĂĄndez appeared on the “Lazos Invencibles” tour, the first tour they had done together in eight years. At the same time, Vicente FernĂĄndez Jr., another of FernĂĄndez's sons, presented his first album with norteño themes entitled “El Mayor de los Potrillos," influenced by his father's career.
In September 2002, he was honored as Person of the Year by the Latin Recording Academy for his artistic achievements and for his donation to the National Scholarship Fund for Hispanics. He also helps his followers who live in the countryside, performing for free at fairs in small Mexican towns.
In 2006, after three years without recording, Fernández released the album “La Tragedia del Vaquero,” a studio album with 14 unreleased songs — a true gem in the repertoire of Mexican mariachi music.
From that production came hits such as "Lejos de mi Tierra," "La Tragedia del Vaquero" and "QuĂ© Chulada de Mujer." The song "La Tragedia del Vaquero” was certified Platinum in the United States for its high sales.
In 2007, Chente celebrated the first 40 years of his artistic career with one of the most successful tours in the history of any Spanish-speaking artist in the United States.
In addition, his next album, “Para Siempre,” was certified as a Diamond Plus Gold Record in MĂ©xico and six Platinum Records in the United States.
This album managed to transcend in the musical field, being worthy of a Diamond recognition for more than 500,000 copies sold in México alone, Diamond Record in Colombia, and special recognition for more than 1.5 million copies sold internationally. In the United States, the album is considered the best-selling Latin album of 2008.
Chente has won three Grammys. One in 2010 for Best Regional Mexican Album “Necesito de Ti.” Another in 2015 for the same category. And finally, in 2017, the recording of his final performance on stage in 2016, titled “Un Azteca en el Azteca (En Vivo),” landed him his most recent Grammy.
From 1989 to 2014, he was awarded eight Latin Grammys, 14 Premios Lo Nuestro awards and a handful of Billboard awards.

despecho hour at the casa azul restaurante y cantina, by José Olivarez
Para Aracely
despecho rhymes with espejo— translation: my sibs could be my twins if they weren’t so feos. remix: if i weren’t so ugly i wouldn’t look so much like mis hermanos.
let me try again: this one goes out to my fam posted at the bar pouring shots until the ceiling falls apart & reveals the moon. i’m sorry to break the news: you can sing all you want, comadre, you can get Chente himself to sing on your behalf—she’s gone. translation: all that’s left to do llorar y llorar.
one more time for those who haven’t caught on: it’s that time of night where all you have is your biggest ache & all its nicknames. our bartender is from Guatemala. he tells us Spanish is his second language. his first language is Ixil. in the entire state of  Iowa how many people speak Ixil? question: is despecho the music he plays when he cleans the drunks up from the bar & is despecho what it sounds like when you cross one strange country just to land in another & discover all your words for love are strange & unfamiliar?

RWRB Study Guide, Chapter 9
Hi y’all! I’m going through Casey McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue and defining/explaining references! Feel free to follow along, or block the tag #rwrbStudyGuide if you’re not interested!
Too close to the sun (239): A reference to the myth of Icarus; his father built him wings so that they could escape from a tower they were trapped in. Upon gaining his freedom for the first time in years, Icarus celebrated by flying as high as he could. The sun melted the wax on his wings, and they fell apart, leaving him to plummet to his death.
Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens (239): Alexander Hamilton was an American politician, and John Laurens was a revolutionary fighter and abolitionist. Every biography of either of them is like “yeah wow they sure were GOOD FRIENDS” or “They had a ROMANTIC FRIENDSHIP” (an actual phrase I just read).
Chernow’s biography (240): The most popular biography of Alexander Hamilton; the one that the 2016 musical Hamilton is based on. He concludes that “at the very least, we can say that Hamilton developed something like an adolescent crush on his friend”.
King George III (242): The king against whom the American colonies revolted.
Eliza (243): Eliza Schuyler Hamilton was Alexander Hamilton’s wife. The pair absolutely adored each other, and according to at least one of Hamilton’s letters to Laurens, she was conscious of and completely alright with their relationship (and also maybe down for a three-way).
Allen Ginsberg to a Peter Orlovsky (245): Allen Ginsberg was an American poet of the Beat movement, which was characterized by a dissatisfaction with 1950s America. Peter Orlovsky was an actor and took up poetry after beginning his open relationship with Ginsberg. The pair continued this relationship until Ginsberg’s death in 1997.
Henry James to Hendrix C. Andersen* (247): Henry James was an American/British writer whose works often explore the contrast and overlap between those two cultures. Hendrix C. Andersen a sculptor (known for a sculpture of Jacob, um... “wrestling” an angel). The two met in Rome in 1899, and James immediately bought a bust sculpted by Andersen, which he placed above his mantle, declaring “I shall have him constantly before me as a loved companion and friend”. (more, including a deeply gay love letter)
“Loco in Acapulco” (248): A 1988 song by the Four Tops about partying in Acapulco, a Mexican beach city. (listen here)
Chambray (249): Chambray is a fabric native to South France, it is lightweight and made of a weave of light colored and white threads.
“Here You Come Again” (249): A 1977 country/pop song recorded/performed by Dolly Parton, about a lover coming back into her life. (listen here)
“Summertime” (249): A DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince hip-hop song from 1991 about how summer is a break from the hectic rest of the world. (listen here)
45 (249): Texas State Highway 45 runs in a loop around Austin.
Mexican Coke (250): Coca-Cola made in Mexico is typically made with cane sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup, and many believe that gives it a more natural taste.
Lake LBJ (250): The history behind this lake is pretty well covered in the book, but it is popular for boating and water skiing because of its normally constant water level (meaning it is not significantly impacted by things like rainfall or other weather issues).
“Jumbo”** (250): LBJ apparently had a sizeable “little” friend. He tried to have the White House shower altered so to have a stream shooting directly onto it. He would show it to people all the time. He asked to have his pants tailored to accommodate it.
Henry VIII*** (250): Henry VIII is a British king best known for taking six wives, most of whom he either killed or divorced after they failed to give birth to sons. He invented the Church of England so that he could legally divorce his first wife and it went downhill from there.
Strawberry daiquiris (250): A strawberry daiquiri is a mix of rum, sugar, and citrus. They are often frozen and are a popular summer drink.
Hacienda school of home decor (251): “Hacienda” is the Spanish word for an estate; this style is typically defined by high ceilings, open, arched doorways, and sprawling floor plans. “Hacienda” homes are associated with Mexico and the Southwest United States, and are generally designed as cozy outdoor/indoor spaces.
Pemberton Heights (252): One of Austin’s wealthiest and most historic neighborhoods.
Chente (252): Vincente ”Chente” FernĂĄndez GĂłmez is a Mexican actor and musician known as “El Rey de la MĂșsica Ranchera" (The King of Ranchera Music). He started his career playing for tips on the street, but has since risen to stardom. (listen here and here)
Cotija and crema (253): Cotija is a Mexican cheese, and Mexican crema is a thickened cream often used as a topping for Mexican foods.
Elotes (253): Elote, or Mexican street corn, is a popular summer dish made with sweet corn covered in crema, cotija, chili powder, and a variety of other toppings.
Candy-ass (254): A wimp or person who’s not especially tough.
“Not bad for a European” (254): The general stereotype in the US is that European folks, especially English folks, are generally smart, but not very tough.
Santa Maria (256): Saint Mary, the mother of Jesus and greatest of all Catholic saints.
Tamales with salsa verde (256): Tamales are a Mexican dish made of a corn dough wrapped and steamed in corn husks, and salsa verde is a tomatillo-based salsa. Tamales are often made with help from an assembly line of family members.
Frijoles charros (256): Frijoles charros, or “cowboy beans”, are a Mexican dish made of pinto beans stewed with onions, garlic, bacon, and other elements such as meat, peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro.
Sangria (256): An alcoholic beverage from Spain made of red wine mixed with fruit.
Johnny Cash (256): An American musician who began his career as a country singer, but branched out into rock and gospel as well. He was known for his humility and his free prison concerts, and for context within the book, June is named after his wife. (listen here and here)
Selena (256): Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was a Mexican-American singer/ songwriter/ model/ spokesperson who is known for catapulting Tejano or Tex-Mex music into the mainstream. (listen here and here)
Fleetwood Mac (256): Fleetwood Mac is a British-American pop rock band formed in 1967. (listen here and here)
“Annie’s Song” (256): A John Denver song written as an ode to his wife; she described it as “a love song [that] became a bit of a prayer”. (listen here)
Chile de ĂĄrbol (257): A small, potent chili native to Mexico.
Jazz brunch (258): A brunch with a jazz trio playing in the background. They’re typically associated with older folks on vacation.
Migas (262): Mexican migas is a traditional breakfast dish made of a crispy tortilla with scrambled eggs on top. The Tex-Mex variation includes extra ingredients like onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, or salsa.
The heir and the spare (263): This refers to the idea that a king should have at least two sons: one to be the heir to his throne, and a backup “spare” to keep the kingdom from a succession war in case that first died.
------
*Fun fact; Hendrik Andersen is related to Hans Christian Andersen (the fairy tale author), who was also queer!
** I now know... far too much about this.
*** The musical Six gives each wife a stage to voice their side of the story, and it’s very good.
----
If there’s anything I missed or that you’d like more on, please let me know! And if you’d like to/are able, please consider buying me a ko-fi? I know not everyone can, and that’s fine, but these things take a lot of time/work and I’d really appreciate it!

Abduction - Chapter 11
It’s been, what? Three weeks? Wow! I think so. I was going to make this chapter longer, but honestly, if I tried to fit everything in that I planned, it’d be a while before this got posted and three weeks seems to be more than long enough (Wowza!)
I have actually made a good map outline thingy of what’s going to happen in the next bit of this story, so hopefully that means that actually writing it will be faster for a little while (fingers crossed!)
As always, thanks for reading! Thanks for commenting! Thanks for encouraging me to keep going! I do a little happy dance when I see that people are actually getting excited about this story! Thanks everyone!

***
Grow up! I should grow up?! Who does she think she is? Mike stormed through the branches, shoving them out of his way and letting them snap behind him. Impulsive? Why? Because I’m willing to act when needed? If that’s impulsive, then what’s the problem?
There wasn’t really a path to walk on, so the going was slow. Worried about getting lost, he paused just out of sight of the clearing. Close enough to get back easily, far enough to not be seen from it. He kicked at a few branches on the ground, muttering and cursing.
Part of him knew he was being childish. Knew he was acting in just the way that Wenona had called him out on. There was another part, though- a bigger and louder part at the moment, that was too mad to care. Grow up.
He’d heard that before. Made him mad then too.
“Impulsive
Aaaargh!” He swung a hard punch at the trunk of the nearest tree. It splintered. He pulled his hand away, a fist-sized imprint with cracks now adorned up and down the trunk. “Huh. Not as tough as earth trees, are ya? Probably would have broken my hand if I’d punched a pine or a maple or a
”
He stopped. It was like a bucket of ice water had just been dumped on his head. Behind the tree, just a few feet away, stood a very familiar shape.
“Montauk,” he whispered.
Neither Mike nor the Montauk moved. Neither dared breath. It seemed that an eternity  passed in those moments. Mike was sure his heart was going to beat out of his chest. He felt his legs were going to give out under him and started to reach out to steady himself against the dented tree. The moment he began shifting his weight, the alien sprang at him. Time seemed to move in slow motion and Mike saw the flash of the blade almost too late.
Continuing with his initial momentum, he dropped to the ground on one knee. The montauk’s knife just knicked him in the arm. He spun on the spot sweeping his other leg at the alien’s six insect-like legs and pushed it forward. It toppled over and was almost buried by the huge pack on its back. Mike hope it was squished under its seemingly very heavy weight.
Unfortunately not. The montauk spun around on the ground, lashing out with the knife as it did so. Mike jumped over the attack and landed on the alien’s back, or rather, on it’s pack. He could both hear and feel unknown objects shift and/or crack upon his landing.
“NO! GET OFF!”
It immediately flipped over on it’s side, throwing Mike off and into a small bush with broad purple leaves. He scrambled to his feet, bracing himself for another attack. It didn’t come.
Instead, the Montauk was crouched over it’s pack, rummaging through the contents.
It was distracted. But it was still armed, and Mike’s arms was bleeding. Oh, it was bleeding more than he thought it should - it must have been more than a knick.
Then he saw it - the knife. Or, well, one might roughly call it was a knife. It was a weird knife thing. It looked like it was made from broken bits of plating, melted and burned together then sharpened along the thinner side. It was just lying there, between them on the ground.
Without another thought, Mike lunged for the weapon. The montauk must have caught the motion in the corner of it eye. It jerked its head toward him, realized what he was doing, and let out a terrifying screech. Mike dove, grabbed the knife, and rolled out of the way as the montauk swiped at him. Two of its sharp forearms got stuck in the ground for a moment. Just a moment, but long enough for Mike to get a good swing at it.
The blade cut into the exoskeleton, leaving an oozing purple gash across the dark, shiny limb. The montauk screeched and clicked angrily, backing up a few steps, just out of reach, grasping at the wound. Blood for blood, then. It knew Mike wasn’t to be messed with now. He fiddled with the knife, trying to find a more comfortable way to hold it. It was clear that it was not made for hands like his.
“No! Give it back! You’ve no idea how long it took me to make that!” it screamed.
Mike held out the knife threateningly, “I don’t really care, but if you want this knife, you’ll have to take it from my cold, dead hands.”
The montauk lowered its body so that it could walk on its four lower limbs while still using its upper arms to protectively hold its large, dingy pack. “I’ve no idea what you’re saying, strange creature, but if you understand me, know this - I will get my blade back. Even if I have to take it from your cold, lifeless grasp.”
***
He felt the pain long before he could really tell where the pain was coming from. At first, it was just a general ache. Then a throb. Oh frewan, he thought, why? What happened?
“Jebannuck? Are you okay? Can you hear me? Say something, or uh, moan again if you can hear me.”
He tried opening his eyes. It seemed he could only manage a squint. That only made the pain in his head stronger.
“Wenona? What hap
 where are we?”
ïżœïżœïżœUh, the planet? I don’t remember it’s name. You put us on the escape pod and before you shut the doors, the ship was hit and you got knocked in here with us.” Wenona stepped closer and crouched down next to him. Jebannuck felt a cool cloth being pressed on his forehead. He winced. It was very tender.
“Sorry,” Wenona continued. “I’m definitely no medic. I’ve been looking through the first aid supplies for something to help with my hand, but the stuff that I recognize all seems like it’s pretty much just the basic kit stuff. Better than nothing though. You’ve been out a long time. How are you feeling?”
Jebannuck reached for the cloth Wenona was pressing onto what seemed to be a large chent-egg of a bump on his head.
I’m lucky to still be alive after a hit like that, he thought.
“Help me up. Slowly, please.” He leaned onto one arm and reached for Wenona with the other. She carefully helped him sit up and slide over to where he could lean against the wall. When he was situated, Wenona took a step back from helping him and reached again for the first aid kit. Jebannuck finally caught sight of her hand. It looked ghastly.
“What in the name of all that is bright and serene happened to your hand?”
Wenona froze mid-reach and pulled her hand back, holding it with her other hand as she examined it. “It’s
 well
I’m not really sure. It’s kind of a long story but I think I’m allergic to something I hit.”
“Allergic to
you hit...” Jebannuck paused, looked around the pod and back to Wenona. “Where’s Mike?”
Wenona let out a noise that was somewhere between a sigh and a growl, “That’s part of the long story. He wandered off, like a freakin’ idiot.”
He just stared at her. Part of him felt that this news wasn’t the least bit surprising. The other part of him felt
frustrated wasn’t a strong enough word. Infuriated? Worried? Exasperated? Exasperated. That was probably close enough. We’ve been here how long and he’s already gone and done the very thing I told him not to do.
His growing frown must have started using some injured muscles because his head started throbbing more painfully. Were all humans like this?
“No, I’m not. I told him he was an idiot and that we should at least wait until you woke up before we did anything else, but as you can see, that went so well.”
Jebannuck didn’t realize he had muttered his last thought out loud. Thankfully, Wenona didn’t seem to be offended. Either that or she was too busy rummaging through the first aid kit to take offense. He leaned forward as far forward as he dared and reached out his his hand for hers. “Let me see your injuries.”
Wenona looked up from her rummaging and back down at her swollen hand before holding it out. Jebannuck gingerly examined her hand, turning it over and noticed a few small specks of spores that were still clinging in the cracks of her palm. The skin was red in splotches and puffy. It looked very painful. Jebannuck winced, partly because of the hand, but also because leaning forward for that long was starting to send an ache down his back. He let go of her hand and rested against the wall again.
“There should be a few jugs of water in a container under the harness you were strapped in. Rinse your hand off outside as well as you can, but be careful with the water. It’s what we’ve got until we can find and filter more.” Wenona got up, retrieved a jug, and stepped out the door to clean up.
“While you’re out there,” Jebannuck started. Wenona paused and looked back, “Yell for Mike. He needs to get back here. We need him back here.”
Wenona’s eyebrows furrowed. Was that a look of anger? Irritation? What happened while he was out? It looked like she was going to say no. Instead, she continued out the door with a quiet, “Alright.”
Jebannuck sat for a moment alone, a bit confused at Wenona’s reaction. She and Mike had nearly been inseparable since they’d been rescued. He would have to find out what happend between them. The last thing they needed right now was for those two to be fighting with each other on top of everything else.
He carefully scooted the first aid kit closer and pulled out a few packages for inflamation and a few basic poison neutralizers, just in case. He knew of the plant, or the type of plants that grow on this planet. Some can be deadly. Even touching them could cause serious harm or loss of limb - or more. Wenona’s injury, while it certainly looked nasty, didn’t seem to be bothering her nearly as much as it should be. Or at least, it didn’t seem to be yet.
Mike was still out there in all that though.
Blast it, where was he? Surely he had the sense enough to not wander too far?
He closed his eyes and rested his head in a crevice of the harness. Mike reminded him a lot of the humans that had been enlisted onto the last ship he had served on. They’d only been on the crew for about half a standard solar orbit before Jebannuck was transferred, but they had struck him as being perpetually curious, loud, and at times, foolhardy. Being part of the crew, however, meant that they had tasks to attend to, protocols to keep up, and instructions to follow. That being said, however, they always seemed to be expert in finding loopholes in rules and orders that would keep them out of trouble when they (to quote them) “bent the rules a bit.”
As far as the datasheet showed, they were a major gain to the crew in matters of productivity and efficiency. As far as actually working or being around them, Jebannuck did his best to ignore them and their boisterous ways.
They were annoying.
He might have started dozing, lost in his thoughts. He wasn’t sure. Well, actually, he must have been because he jolted awake with a start. He’d heard something. He looked around. Wenona was still gone. Was it her voice he’d heard?
Yes. And he heard it again. Outside the pod. She was yelling something. Screaming something. Was she saying actual words? His mind felt alert and foggy at the same time. It was
disorienting to say the least. Like his brain was trying to process as much as possible all at once without making sense of anything as it did so.
It took a few attempts, but eventually he made it to his feet, holding onto a few loose straps to steady himself and get his bearings. Wenona was yelling again. So was someone else, someone with a thin and wheezy voice.
It took a few heartbeats, but then everything cleared up as fast as a flash. It was a fight! Something or someone was out there with Wenona. She could be killed! He limped to the door as fast as he could. His muscles felt slow to respond, but he made it. Taking a deep breath before sliding the pod door open, he pulled out his blaster, which was still holstered on a strap near his waist.

What caused the rat infestation in the first place and what made the mutations/etc that made them cursed rats
I think I have to explain the lore of the “Rat Hunters” before I go into the main story of it.
So in the server, we have a “dungeon” because it’s Cora’s castle and so if you commit any minor crimes you get sent there. I’ve been put in a nicer cell for my Albania and Teeth crimes, but @labradoodleduck was imprisoned for theft and they started building a rat army. Rats sort of became Lab’s trademark from then on, and recently I was gifted a rat by them, named Ratchard the 3rd. They have also confessed to having all their organs replaced with exclusively rats. It’s like Ship of Theseus, I don’t know if there is more Lab or Rat now.
Anyway, I few nights ago I think I asked Lab if he wanted to go “rat hunting” with me and he agreed to the hunt so we could get “breakfast” and we sent out Ratthew (Lab’s main rat), and I sent out Ratchard, and we caught a few rats and scarred the server. The next night, we did two hunts, and on the second one, we asked our resident chef, Vince (also known as Gringo, Chente, Grinchente, etc.) to teach us how to prepare the rats to eat. Vince soon joined our team as the sniper for our heists, and we managed to get 12 rats plus a shiny (a mouse). His rat’s name is Ratchente.
No actual rats are involved in these hunts of course, we just spam a bunch of rat emojis in the chat to show they are scurrying through the alley. However, to make it more fantasy-esque and somewhat less cruel because we want to draw fan art of it now, we started to develop this world overrun with rats. I was thinking of making it somewhat of a sci-fi? I know someone (I think Quib) suggested aliens, but I’m thinking that some weather phenomenon or some sort of chemicals caused the rats to overpopulate and become massive and start trying to take over society, but they aren’t really sentient, they’re like mindless monsters. I’m even thinking one of those zombie fungi like with the bees or ants, could be the cause, but to be honest I don’t have much of it worked out. I just know that we are a trio of rat hunters with each our own rat gifted to us by Lab, and our attire for the hunts are trench coats that Lab said were “stapled with rats” but I’m gonna make it slightly less cursed and say these are all fake toy rats or something. We wear sunglasses and Lab has a dagger, Vince a gun, and I work as a collector, helping snatch the rats for us to steal. (I guess in this universe we collect the bodies for data and research of a cure?) I don’t like sending our rats out as bait for the others, since our rats are not corrupted beasts and still look normal, but our leader Lab tells us we have to, so I do. Our hunts have always been successful with his guidance.
This dumb joke got out of control really fast but I love its concept and want to keep going with it, lol.
