can i get a scarlet/violet gang x ghost trainer reader who lets their ghost types possess them for pranks ?
This took a minute to think about until mochi mayhem dropped--then I got ideas haha
...........
During the events of Mochi Mayhem...you seemed remarkably unfazed by Pecharunt's "curse" spreading throughout the village, finding it more amusing than frightening.
And it's because you were no stranger to being possessed yourself.
Your first experience occurred after a Spiritomb's soul got separated and found you as a temporary host while you were exploring some ruins in Paldea (with your poor Fuecoco at the time being terrified for you).
Fortunately it wasn't an aggressive one, just a scared lonely spirit that was piloting your body around until it was reunited with the other 107 souls of that Spiritomb....which turned out to be a shiny!
In a show of gratitude, it decided to join your team--and soon you found your true calling as a ghost type trainer.
So you've picked up other ghosts throughout your journeys in Paldea, Kitakami, and BB Academy.
At some point you trusted your main team enough to allow them to possess your body.
Initially, they only did if they believed it was necessary (ie saving you from a fall or sudden Pokémon attack).
But then you decide to let them do so for pranks and such--mainly reserving those for whoever bothered your friends, while other times your friends are the hapless victims.
Exhibit A: When a BB Academy student is harassing Kieran over how he used to act, you see him getting upset and have one of your Shiny Spiritomb's souls possess you, enabling you to creep up and stare at the bully--all behind his back without him ever noticing you.
He's confused when they suddenly look terrified and run away....and then he slowly turns around, screaming a bit upon seeing your face in the likeness of a Spiritomb (like in that one episode of Journeys where Ash gets possessed by one).
You feel bad, especially after the soul leaves your body, and you promise that you'll never do that again.
Although he is grateful you saved him from that intense moment.
Exhibit B: You're hanging out with Penny at your house, watching her play some horror game on your console.
Your Gengar gets the mischievous idea to turn the lights off and possess you, creating a creepy atmosphere all around the house, making your friend paranoid of whether the sounds were coming from the game or elsewhere.
In hindsight, it sounds hilarious..but you forgot Penny doesn't fw horror movie tropes like that.
As she commands Umbreon to attack you out of pure instinct-
Only to see you and Gengar get forcibly separated and hit the ground hard.
Knock Off was no joke.
She apologizes but is a bit annoyed bc she couldn't save her progress thanks to your "prank".
Exhibit C: While Arven is giving Nemona, Penny, Kieran, and Carmine lessons on the art of sandwich crafting, you stroll over with some purple mochi, offering it as a dessert.
Obviously they decline, seeing Pecharunt literally hovering beside you and wondering if you already forgot what happened.....and are horrified when you shrug and eat one, your eyes turning purple.
Yet before anyone can fully freak out, you just laugh and start talking normally.
To make a long story short, you and the mythical 'mon came to an agreement that you'll eat the mochi it provides as long as it doesn't make you do anything harmful (like battling) or anything ridiculous (like dancing and saying "mochi" nonstop) while possessing you.
It's still mischievous at heart, of course. You'll allow it to have a little bit of fun considering its troubling past.
Exhibit D: Your Skeledirge was the first 'mon you used the Synchro Machine on after arriving to BB Academy, walking around and battling wild Pokémon in the terarium for a few good hours.
This "reverse possession", however, left some adverse effects on you even after desynchronizing...as for several days you developed a habit for singing, could taste smoke in your breath, and even your partner's little fire bird companion decided that it wanted to nestle atop your head.
You realize what a funny prank this could be.
So you pull up to the cafeteria to the "date" Drayton invited you to and freak out the rest of the Elite Four (except for Crispin who immediately realizes you own a Skeledirge and thinks you're awesome).
That also makes for a rather...awkward reunion with Kieran who thinks you've seriously gone off the deep end, and you drop the act right away.
But he's too caught up in the idea of battling you and winning to care about why tf you're possessed rn.

Thanks to my friend @clairvoyantxatu for alerting me to this!
The scary season is once again upon us—from its carved ornamental gourds to acts of grand theft candy by roaming gangs of elaborately disguised children. But before you set out that ceramic Gengar candy bowl or place your Phantump figure in its place of honor on the mantel, maybe it’s time to rethink our Halloween heroes.
For years, we’ve elevated Ghost-type Pokémon to the role of Halloween royalty. Before we fall into a haunted cemetery-sized rut, it may be time to crown new Halloween terrors. And who better to reign over this season of terror than Pokémon directly inspired by the dragons that have haunted real-life humanity for thousands of years?
Now that we’ve agreed it’s time for a more measured and mature approach to identifying the heroes of this year’s Pokéween—and if you didn’t agree, feel free to vent your opinions to your friendly neighborhood apparition—let’s consider the possibilities. The colorful and robust Pokémon canon offers an embarrassment of choice. If psychological mayhem is your jam, there is certainly an argument to be made for unleashing Mr. Mime on the collective consciousness and just accepting that there will be no more Pokémon Sleep for anyone ever again.
Which brings us to the obvious solution: Dragon-type Pokémon. The timing is perfect. It’s the Year of the Dragon, and dragons are hotter than Charizard’s Flamethrower. (But contrary to its appearance, Charizard is not, in fact, a Dragon-type Pokémon, although Mega Charizard X can proudly make the claim.) As we’ve already established, dragons have a fearsome reputation that spans millennia, so we know they’re scary. And to prove that point, we came with receipts (or scary Pokédex entries, which is pretty much the same thing):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(As my own personal aside, casual reminder that Mega Salamence is known to bisect its own Trainer from time to time, leading to the nickname of the blood-soaked crescent, when you put together its two Dex entries from Sun and Moon. Honestly my favorite Dex entry because it's just so edgy it wraps back around to being funny.)
Sure, a Gengar materializing from the floor for a jump scare is a classic. But compared to Dragalge sinking entire ships, leaving only silence and mystery in their wake, or Sliggoo instinctively liquifying even its friends, these pranks seem like child’s play.

I don't know much about pokemon, so I'm curious about your choices for Siffrin, Loop and Isabeau's pokemons (and if you want I would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of the cast, including the little red pokemon).
Thank you for enabling me hfisndjs Here we go!!
Tumblr media
Siffrin
Clefable! A pokemon described as timid and generally living in isolated mountains. It is heavily tied to the night sky and the moon, and learns a lot of cool moves that remind me of Siffrin!
Follow me (redirects all attacks on Clefable), Healing Wish, Encore (forces enemies to repeat their last move), Metronome (activates a random move, pulling from every existing moves in the game, kind of reminds me of the sometimes random nature of wish craft)
None of these moves are unique to this pokemon, but I personally heavily associate them with it!
Tumblr media
Loop
Gengar! So there's this theory that, because they look so much alike, Gengar and Clefable might have been initially designed as like, two sides of the same coin. Gengar is a ghost type, implying that it's a dead Clefable? Sorta? But it also has preevolutions that don't exactly match with Clefable's preevolutions, so it's mostly a fun theory/urban legend in the fandom at this point. And I felt like it matched well with Loop's whole deal lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isabeau
Sudowoodo (and Sylveon for the trainer version) Sudowoodo's whole deal is "not what it seems': It looks like a plant, acts like a plant (literally will stand stock still to camouflage), but is actually a rock type! I kinda wanted to reflect Isabeau's façade with this pokemon, and Sudowoodo was the first that came to mind!
Also, Sudowoodo evolves from a small, very scadery pokemon whose whole deal is that it cries a lot, and it needs to be loved to evolve so. I liked the parallel with Isabeau's Change.
As for Sylveon, since in my head eevee is a popular starter choice, Isabeau probably would have gotten one too. And this eevee needs to be very very loved by their trainer to evolve into Sylveon! (And also. Trans colors. Cmon.)
Tumblr media
The red pokemon
A shiny Jirachi! Jirachi is literally the wish pokemon, it's shaped like a shooting star and has empty wishing papers on its head ! It kinda changes depending on whether you're viewing the anime or reading the manga but when all conditions are gathered, a Jirachi can grant wishes! And when it does, the eye on its stomach opens up! (I think... forgor the lore a bit)
Also why am I calling this "their Ho-oh moment"? It's because in the anime, Ash begins his journey after seeing a Ho-oh flying high above him, granting him a blessing or something. It is a pivotal moment. I feel like Siffrin and Loop seeing a Jirachi (a shiny one at that!) would be just as significant to them.
I'm gonna stop there because that's a lot of text, but if anyone wants clarifications for the rest of the cast, pls do send an ask hxidbd

collapses at ur doorstep after seeing pokemon art :3
what pokemon team (1-6 slots each, doesn't need to be full!!) would u assign sun & moon!!!
(i have been meaning to draw them with a clefairy/gengar, but woe, time is not limitless each day... T^T)
OOOO! The Clefairy/Gengar mix goes so well with them actually, especially with that theory that Gengar is essentially a ghost version of Clefairy. Sun and Moon match their vibes so well!
Honestly there's so many pokemon that it's a bit of a toughie to think of teams! But, imagining their teams as non-submas themed trainers and just their own goobers, I thinkkkk I'd set it up like this! ( Based off my own ooc ideas of the characters :3 )
Sun: Probably would work at a pokemon Nursery and/or focuses on doing Contests. (God I miss those-) I can't help but imagine Sun as someone with a caretaker personality, even if a little sassy, but he'd totally still be into theater no matter what universe!
Ambipom - I feel like this big ol' mon gives off goofy caretaker vibes, and with the extra set of large hands on its tails makes it extra helpful with wrangling and clean up. Plus, more hands mean more props and attacks for contests! It's definitely so playful that it can be a bit of a trouble maker, but when it's time to switch gears or follow rules, it is a stickler and can even be a little scary with how serious it becomes.
Togekiss (Raised from egg) - Okay, probably a bit of anime bias here but I love the little egg thing Togepi is and I feel like it would be perfect for Sun. Just one of the most baby pokemon around, lovely to raise, stubborn, and grows up into the most elegant thing ever. Perfect, muwah, would love to be on stage after demolishing a whole team solo with broken fairy typing.
Chimecho - Such a soothing pokemon. They help keep Sun from becoming anxious with their calm chimes and they're great at getting young pokemon to fall asleep or calm down after a tantrum. The calm to Sun's eccentric energy.
Gourgeist - Is it odd that I think this pokemon would be an amazing cook? Sun can definitely cook things for his pokemon well, but when he's overwhelmed, this buddy can whip up something delicious and even serve it with their psychic abilities to lower the workload. Generally friendly and is a little bit of a trouble maker when everyone's guard is down. Nothing dangerous, at least not on purpose, but all the kitchenware might go missing if someone forgets to say thank you.
Bellibolt - I'm still imagining Sun as an animatronic, so I feel like an electric type is just a requirement. Has the duty to be an emergency recharge, but besides that all this big guy have to do is be cute and happy. Just a gigantic stress ball that loves hugs, and Sun, pokemon, kids, and contest judges alike all love it. Just a silly chill lil guy.
Cinccino - This pokemon is well known for its cleaning habits. So besides being adorable and fluffy - a great cuddle buddy - they help keep the space nice and tidy. Cleanliness is just a must for Sun. Also, I love chinchillas and its a must to have one. It's cuteness and elegance makes it a fierce competitor during competitions but honestly a terrible battler; more worried about keeping itself clean and pretty instead of winning.
Moon: Possibly works as a pokemon ranger (based off the side games) and is a ace trainer that is reformed off an evil team. Idk, my views of his personality is very similar to Silver and well, we know his history with Team Rocket- anyways, I think having a similar background would make him very serious about battle and rescuing others/pokemon.
Banette - Likely to have been with Moon as his first pokemon. Banette's pokedex entries consider it as a vengeful abandoned doll, and seeing it's a tragic but powerful pokemon, I feel like it would be serious but clingy in the quietest ways. It will help Moon in any way it can as Moon adopted it from an evil team and showed it true care, but it does not like any other pokemon getting attention, giving death glares and silently pulling off nasty tricks when no one is looking. Their strong bond makes mega evolving effective in a pinch. (Lets just assume they got the stone somehow its okay bbg)
Ferrothorn - Ignore its stats, this gigantic thing should really be a tank and I am wishing it as one. They're spikey but have a caring nature, and with the way it clings to ceilings or raises its body above things with its noodle legs, it makes it very maneuverable and helpful when it comes to traversing harsh locations. It craves affection, so give em a good pat and they'll love you forever.
Scolipede - Poison Horse. I love it, and it can be amazing in battle if you do the right things. I'm not the best at forming a competitive team, but narrative wise, its thick exoskeleton makes it very durable, its ability to curl up and roll makes it very fast, and it's a great buddy to help move from place to place fast, even when holding 2 people on its back. Probably the most stubborn and self important of the group.
Inteleon - It may be ehhhh to put a starter on this list, but I feel like Inteleon is a mon that would be great in the ranger line of work. A water type is a must for handling fires and to douse any moody flare ups within a group. Plus, water is a must for all life, so it creates an emergency water source. It has great sight from a distance and probably would act more like a scout that will climb up from high areas and leap between large gaps to find whatever it is they're after today. Likes to go at things alone but only wants to provide as much as it possibly can.
Heliolisk - This pokemon is so cool and I don't see enough of it! Definitely a bit of a trouble maker with a childish attitude outside of work. Again, imagining Moon still as an animatronic in this universe, the necessity of having an emergency charge from an electric type seems like a must. It also is great as an emergency light source by holding in an electrical charge in its mouth/hands. However, the dry skin of this pokemon makes it durable, able to withstand extreme heat, and as a lizard it should totally be able to stick to walls, which makes it great for caves or for being a pokemon to rely on during sticky situations. (Budum-tissss) I always forget it's not a ground type, but in my heart it is.
Cofagrigus - This mon scares me so much that I love it. Just a creepy design, but also the amount of move sets and strategies this one pokemon can do is insane. IDK jack about competitive pokemon, but even I know that this is a pokemon to be weary of to go against. This'll probably be Moon's main battle pokemon, where his strategies during a full pokemon battle against a trainer would revolve around Cofagrigus. In reality though, this Cofagrigus is the most motherly towards the team and wrangles everyone into being orderly and just is the general problem solver with interpersonal problems.
If i'm honest, a lot of this list can be exchanged with different pokemon. I mostly chose these based off vibe and some based off typing, but there's probably better pokemon for them out there lol
Thank you for asking though! It was very fun to think about and I love to yap :3333

My mom got me pokemon pajamas which are very cozy but one of the pokemon chosen to be on them perplexes me. Theres the usual suspects - pikachu, squirtle, bulbasaur, charmander - no issue there. There’s also 3 other gen 1 favorites - gengar, snorlax, and slowpoke - while I suppose you could argue slowpoke being chosen over eevee is suspect, I have zero complaints. The penultimate choice is totodile, which I similarly think is deserving of its placement. Another popular starter, and from an early gen, and as these are adult pajamas, they’d probably cater to longtime fans. But the last one? Oshawott. I don’t understand. Firstly, it makes 3 water starters outnumbing 1 fire and 1 grass, which is a bit silly, as torchic or rowlet would be great choices. Secondly, gen 5, while no longer the most polarizing gen these days thanks to people’s views changing after the excessive fanservice from the past decade towards genwunners, is the one getting the least attention in the current games. It’s the oldest gen to have not received a remake, after all. At least they picked the best one out of the three, as oshawott is a starter in legends arceus (but rowlet and cyndaquil would have been better, and while dewott is adorable, oshawott is my least favorite of unova’s starters.) is oshawott secretly more popular than I realized? Does it have a role in the anime?
Yes I am thinking way too hard about this

5, 6, and 9 for the ask game?
thank you for the ask!!
5. whats a pokemon you would like to play as or with?
I think an obvious pick for me would be zorua (have a lil eevee/zorua team going on) but on the offchance we actually get a new pmd game with the dex up to gen 9 (pls) i think some good hero/partner nonstarter picks would be mudbray, rockruff, wooloo, yamper, pawmi and fidough.
6. how do you interpret gengar and gardevoir's relationship post game?
as depressing as it is, I always thought that after saving gardevoir from the curse, gengar truly just lets her go and probably disbands team meanies to move away from pokemon square. Its the last time we see him, but I think he'd consider it giving gardevoir the gift of freedom of having fun as a rescue team without feeling indebted to gengar. After spending all that time under a curse bc of him, I think he'd want her new life to be something completely different, even if that means a life without him. Gengar finally understood the value of Gardevoir's devotion to him, and how much that meant, so I think the most selfless and devoted thing he could do in turn is just swallowing his pride and desires to start again and just let her live as an independent explorer. He'd turn over a new leaf too, and live as an honest explorer somewhere else, or maybe just travel around to find a new purpose.
I do like the idea of gengar and gardevoir starting completely fresh tho. He'd never tell her about her past life but they'd have a far more respectful and equal-sided friendship.
9. what do you ship in the games? just like. in general
HERO X PARTNER FO LIFERSSSS! Across all games, their relationships are just so wholesome and meaningful. I'm not a huge fan of predestination and 'soulmates' but i think the hero/partner connection is so beautiful, and how many times, they have to fight the universe into being together. I like to see them as rewriting fate itself in order to reunite post game, like in GTI and PSMD, where you or your partner has to actively go on a quest to bring the other back. I think its even sweeter if you choose to imagine its always the two same souls being reincarnated over and over again whenever the world is in peril, always great partners and friends who will get the job done bc they just work perfectly together. Platonic or romantic, its just quite lovely. Throughout all of the teams ive made while replaying the games, whether i imagine them as friends or something more, its also just great fun to picture their little conversations, how their personalities mix, and side adventures they go on.
ahem. besides hero x partner, i quite like wigglytuff x chatot for being annoying gay dads, as well as power couple umbreon x espeon. but of course the real otp is team tasty!!

Pokemon AU Billy and Steve's teams ideas...GO
Cause I wanna draw them. However Steve having Tinkaton and Gengar are a must have. And Billy has a Banette
(For people unaware, about Banette lore: "Being driven to life by a powerful grudge, it keeps its life force safely in its body by the means of its zipped up mouth. If unzipped, it would lose its energy.")
Just saying Billy holds alot of grudges. Thanks to @lamay13 for this idea! 🥰
Also tagging: @mangywayway @thediktatortot @half-oz-eddie @stranger-rants cause I'd think you guys would enjoy this lmao

Random femAkeshu Pokemon AU lore I couldn’t include in Dark Void for various reasons:
- Akechi becomes the ghost type Elite Four member. She keeps Ceruledge, Mimikyu, Decidueye, and Marowak on the team, but also rotates other ghost types she obtains later during various adventures with Akira.
Among these are a Dhelmise (a callback to Shido’s ship in canon), Gengar, Spiritomb, Banette (throwbacks to her childhood due to their lore as abandoned or resentful creatures), and a Sableye named Kurusu she captured as payback for Corviknight’s supposedly stupid pun nickname. Also she does not mention Kurusu’s name until it gets into trouble and she can call Kurusu an idiot, to Akira’s confusion. Akira thinks it’s petty. Akechi thinks it’s justice.
- She catches a Torracat as well, evolves it into Incineroar, and once again another one of her Pokemon pursues one of Akira’s (Meowscarada this time) romantically. Even the cats are gay.
- Akira keeps Zebstrika, newly nicknamed Loki. For once, Akechi approves of a nickname. Nerd. You don’t even have Norse mythology in your universe.
- The other Elite Four are Sae (Ice), Iwai (Steel), and Chihaya (Psychic). Shido was previously Dragon.
- Gym Leaders as of the fic: Ann (Fire), Yoshida (Rock), Hifumi (Water), Kawakami (Normal), Ryuji (Electric), Makoto (Fighting), Ichinose (Dark), Lavenza (Fairy). Kamoshida and Kaneshiro were previously gym leaders before Ann and Ryuji. Since Makoto was already a gym leader, I let Ryuji take Kaneshiro’s spot.
- Team Ark’s goal was simplistic control over as many regions as possible, and were led by Shido. Shido previously destroyed Akira’s life similarly to canon, so she ran away from home and helped Sojiro at Leblanc. I didn’t pick a singular region for this because I decided it was its own, despite basing the fic mostly in Sinnoh. They globe trot much like the Journeys and Horizons anime.
- Akira doesn’t travel with everyone everywhere like in canon once she befriends them, but some usually accompany her for awhile. Ann and Ryuji journeyed with her after she helped stop Kamoshida because he kidnapped Shiho, a Pokemon breeder and Ann’s girlfriend.
- Madarame was a patron of the Lilycove museum who supposedly painted everything he submitted. Truthfully, Yusuke was painting every contest star submission himself, and lived in poverty at Madarame’s house. Akira, Ryuji, and Ann saved him, he helped Akira with Team Ark in return too.
- Kaneshiro owned the game corner and was a gym leader. He had a bigger hand in Shido’s Team Ark, like a mini boss such as Saturn or Courtney, for example. Makoto nearly outed Akira to the police despite Shido having them under his thumb, because he threatened her city (his gym neighbored his?. However, she decided she couldn’t let injustice slide, and helped her reveal the game corner and Team Ark’s corruption.
- Futaba and Akira were already friends in this AU. She is the PC storage system creator known as Medjed, but she ran into some trouble thanks to a Cofagrius haunting her house. Akira and Akechi were the ones who saved her, solidifying Akira’s trust in Akechi.
- Akira and Akechi traveled together a decent bit, to solidify their bond. They battled regularly, with a pretty even win-loss ratio once Akira got the hang of things. Akechi lied about her Pokemon on hand sometimes “just in case.”
- Okumura was killed by Akechi still in this AU, the same way she attempted to kill Akira. 🫡 HOWEVER, an Okumura power plant was the casualty instead of a spaceship palace, and in the process several Pokemon nearby were injured or killed—including Cubone’s mother. The weight of orphaning something so defenseless the same way she had been after losing her mother chipped at her walls, so Akechi took in Cubone as an apology. It wasn’t enough to change her fate, but Cubone loves her, and she loves Cubone.
- Haru retired from Okumura Corp to open a Pokemon cafe after Team Ark collapses. Shes tired and deserves it
- Kasumi is in a coma after an accident—I still haven’t decided if she’s dead or not. Sumire loses her mind a little bit thanks to Maruki’s totally ethical experiments (lie), and takes on Kasumi’s goal to become the greatest coordinator. She only goes into recovery after the Darkrai and Cresselia incident. Thanks for nothing, Maruki
- Lavenza gave Akira her Zorua, who was the one to fool Akechi at Dragonspire Tower via illusions while Akira rushed to claim Zekrom.
- Zenkichi is in the Officer Jenny role. He has dozens of lookalike relatives, and Akira claims she can’t tell them apart. Takemi is in the Nurse Joy role with dozens of lookalike relatives, and Akira can tell all of them apart with ease. Zenkichi doesn’t know if he’s being pranked or not and he’ll never find out.
- Akira’s Polteageist is on loan from Sojiro, except Sojiro loans it forever. He hopes that kid is safe now
- Shinya is a bug catcher who taught Akira some of those stupid strategies you’d see Ash use in the anime. Akechi is MALDING that they work, by the way.
- Ohya is a reporter much like Gabby and Ty. She exchanges tips about Team Ark with Akira, despite Akira never directly telling her she’s the one committing crimes constantly to bust worst crimes.
- I can’t stop thinking of Akechi just vibing but visibly only there for Akira. It’s like when Piccolo starts hanging out with Goku’s crew because of Gohan, except like with a mean lesbian human. Why did I choose this analogy? Idk!
- Mishima owns a Gimmighoul. I don’t know what else to add here
I have full teams for everyone, but I fear this post has gotten too long! If you’re still reading, thank you for doing so, and I hope you enjoyed!
