I gotta find a way to tell my parents I don’t want ANY of their food for thanksgiving. What will probably happen is mom will make me a plate and I’ll take it to eat in my room but I’ll just throw it out. I know the status of their food/kitchen, its GROSS. REALLY gross, this isn’t me being a clean freak. Their kitchen is filthy by normal people standards. And their idea of food safety is fucked too. I don’t want to eat from a kitchen with 5 dogs in it, rotten food on the counters, most things past their use by date, perishables that have been left out for hours before being put back in the fridge, and BUGS everywhere. Fuck man. Mom’s saying she’ll give me a whole miniature hen and a pie and asking if I’ll eat with them for Thanksgiving. As much as I’d like to in theory, I won’t be. 

With literally anyone else, I’d just tell the truth. I’d just say I don’t want to eat your food for “X” reason. But I know my parents won’t understand and will jump to some wild conclusion and suggest I see therapy or some shit. Nah, ya’ll are just FILTHY by anyone’s standards. THEY need therapy, for real. Its such a dysfunctional household.

I hate when I get lonely but also don’t want to talk to anyone. There’s maybe 2 people I can think of that I’d actually want to spend time with today but they are both busy. So its gonna be a melancholic day unless I end up feeling like socializing with strangers or something. Its totally my fault for being picky.

My plan is to push through my mental anguish until I get work done, and then I can start doing something to counter how I feel. Maybe I’ll force myself to be social, or dedicate myself to some project like my VR furry world or trying to learn guitar again. 

I don’t know why it feels impossible for me to make friends. I’ve clearly already made some. But strangers seem like unreachable people. And I don’t really want to make new friends, I like the ones I have. I just wanna spend time with them. Having to talk to strangers because no one is around feels like I’m just meeting my body’s needs which is kind of like using them for my own gain. I know it’s probably a mutual exchange but I still don’t like it. I should get over it and accept myself as a social creature like everyone else is. I gotta do what I gotta do.

I think the idea of eating breakfast before 10am, then having 10am - 6pm be busy hours is a good idea. It makes me not feel so rushed with comms because I never operate so late but now I have the ability to without thinking I’m doing too much.

I wanted to eat my little Turkey pot pie today but I’m not strong enough for it right now. It would be a little mental exercise because I have this aversion to eating things out of the bottom of my freezer even though I’ve confirmed it’s functioning properly. It’s not a very big challenge but today my mental strength is at 0. I’d rather eat something familiar and cozy especially since my appetite today has been poor. 

I hope my parents don’t expect anything out of me today. They tend to take holidays very seriously. Like it’ll be a deep personal offense if I don’t go over there and eat with them. At least thats how it used to be. I can’t remember doing anything with them for Thanksgiving last year but I think that’s because they went to a friend’s house or something.

Sometimes I get really tired of my own art. Probably because I have to look at it constantly. But it sucks because I can’t really get a grasp on the actual quality of anything I make until a lot of time has passed. 

I wish I could just do something differently but its never that simple. I don’t even know what I’d want to do different. Anything I choose to change about how I draw has to be slow and gradual for me to know if I really like it or not. Or how practical it is. Maybe I need some more time to play around. I often stop myself from experimenting because I’m always working on things that I don’t want to take risks on. 

The solution to all my art problems is usually getting some new info into the system. Something I haven’t done in a long long time is copying art that inspires me. Watching tutorials can also help. 

My night was SAVED with some bestie time. I don’t think it’s healthy that I tend to rely so heavily on time with my friends but how do I/ should I fix that? Maybe it’s normal to feel lonely when the only people you want to hang out with are unavailable. Am I supposed to emotionally leave them behind temporarily for other people? I think I’d rather be a little sad for awhile and wait for them. I can take care of myself in the meantime.

Happy Birthday, Keys to the Kingdom!

Yeah as of today my own special little slice of hell known as Keys to the Kingdom has existed for the world to see for two years now. And its still going strong even into its second half (which I’m VERY much looking forward to!) I didn’t really plan a big huge celebration for Keys’ 2nd birthday (though ya’ll are more than welcome to do something special for it if you’d like, I’d love you forever if you did) But I figured it would go fun to go back through every chapter of Keys written so far and list my top ten personal favorites. So this is that list. Enjoy!

10. Chapter 30: Recuérdame: This was a really fun chapter if I remember correctly; its a nice mix between plot progression and the Coco stuff (featuring some of my favorite scenes from that movie, so playing around with those was great) but I also loved writing the first in story reveal for Xion and the fight between Sora and Xigbar while set to Imelda singing La Lorrona? Fuckin Iconic if you ask me, this one is great 

9. Chapter 31: Destined Reunion: This is mostly a very dialogue heavy chapter where not a lot happens but honestly I just really like a lot of the interactions in it; there’s a lot of Sora being salty towards Riku in here which tbh is kinda fun to write? But there’s also some soft Sokai stuff and towards the end we get some fun/foreshadowy interactions with our resident Goth Club so overall its a pretty neat one :3

8. Chapter 24: Where the Dream Takes You: So I really love the second Atlantis chapter? It veers away from the movie and also follows it just enough to feel unique in its own right and it has a lot of plot progression for the main story, especially in regards to our good friend the Lingering Will; I like the action in this one a lot and I really love the Trinity Trio’s little emotional talk with each other at the end, it tugs at my heartstrings every time I read it :3

7. Chapter 38: So This Is Love: otherwise known as Prom! Honestly this one is just a sweet, cute fluff-fest and it was so much fun to write the kiddos just relaxing and having a good time for a change. The Destiny Trio in particular just filled my heart with so many warm fuzzies here, especially towards the end when they really start romancing it up! Plus everyone in their fancy outfits was a delight to draw and to write about, overall its a grand time for all ^_^

6. Chapter 21: Depths of Despair; golly this one is just a bit ol drama fest but I think its a pretty great one. Sora spends the whole thing captured and tortured and poisoned and it really is just the biggest shift in the tone of the story so far because of that; Maleficent gets to be the center stage baddie for a chapter, Pete gets a bit of development, and we also get some strong moments from Kairi and Axel and the Restoration Committee, and the scene where Kairi brings Sora back from rage form near the end is still one of my favorites; overall there are a lot of little moments in this one that I love in here, its a really good one. 

5. Chapter 33: Song as Old as Rhyme: A great example of a Disney chapter where the overarching plot kind of takes more of the center stage. This one is a wild ride for sure with a lot of action and intensity, and its Not a very good time for our boy between him having a panic attack over Maleficent confronting him again to getting shot in the damn shoulder to being grounded by his boyfriend for lying it really does tear Sora down quite a bit but I looooooved wriiting all that so its high on my list for sure because of it 

4. Chapter 36: Return to Depart; this chapter features two really great scenes right at the start of it, Sora bonding with Aqua and soft Soriku fluff/angst hour. But then I doubled down by giving the boy an identity crisis between all of the different hearts inside of his and wooooooow I love how I wrote it, its trippy and wild and intense and dramatic; even to the end this one is great because we get our first hints of the bond between Sora and Ven and its soft yet solemn all at once and wow despite carrying some scenes from the game I still think this one is pretty standout 

3. Chapter 35: Distorted Reflection: Whoooooo boy this chapter is hella dark and kind of a mind fuck but golly if it wasn’t such a delight to write. Having Sora essentially hear himself list every fear he has and everything he hates about himself is some quality Character Study stuff; there are so many lines in this chapter I keep coming back to in more recent chapters and I really will continue to do reference it as we move along; it’s also pretty standout that Sora doesn’t even win against his phantom in this chapter, my original plan was for him to win but then I was like “no that’s not thematically right, the entire story is basically about him fighting a battle against himself that he can’t win so why should he win the literal battle against himself?” so I made it sad and had him lost until the Mystery Light came around to help him (I also love that entire part, its such a nice bit of comfort after all the angst this chapter brings). Overall, I love the deep intensity and feels of this one its a classic.

2. Chapter 22: Rise and Fall and Rise Again. Basically a biiiiiig ol bundle of hurt/comfort with some soft angst and romance mingled it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this chapter really is just another big long character study for Sora and golly if it doesn’t have some of my favorite moments in the entire fic so far, despite those moments being quiet and understated and mostly emotional more than anything else; I also really love Kairi in this chapter and I love how it develops her relationship with Sora even more towards their eventual Relationship Upgrade. Its also the first chapter of Keys I got teary eyed while writing soooo ya know there’s that. 

1. And finally, my favorite chapter so far: Chapter 27: What Once Was Mine. Gooooosh this chapter has EVERYTHING. It starts out soft and fun and fluffy with some cute romancy moments, then it gradually starts getting more tense and it builds until basically everything’s gone horribly wrong and ends in a really sad kind of solemn place and we get such nice pairing between the Tangled stuff and the Keys overarching plot stuff. This chapter has so many exceptional moments but I really love the entire section where Sora finally comes clean to Donald and Goofy bc I’m destroyed by Trinity Trio feels every time I read it. Overall, I adore this one but I really do think that it’s very soon about to be outclassed by some stuff I have planned for Keys in the very near future :3

And some Honorable Mentions: Chapter 20: Immortals (mostly for its second half, its first half is pretty weak which is why its not on this list); Chapter 10: Sinister Whispers (aka the chapter where Keys finally starts fucking picking up the pace XD), and chapter 16: Unspoken, Unheard (a nice little Kairi character study)

tea or coffee? both! coffee is a morning bev for me and one I’ll indulge in outside too…like I’ll get a latte or a flat white from a coffee shop. But tea, omg, tea is a religious experience. Thus, executives and salaried workers alike strutted around the rec room as if attending a cocktail party, with three piece suits and dresses tailored to resemble designer brands. Only Rick fit the decor with his garish Christmas sweater depicting drunken elves dancing under the phrase, "Let's get elfed up".

The guard stopped his jig and slunk to the snack table.

Jeremy managed a chuckle. "All right, Rick, I'll give you this. Maybe there is entertainment to be found here."

Through the next hour, they heckled their fellow executives from the water cooler. To keep their energy, they broke into the store-bought cookies meant to be saved for the end of the party. Not that anyone dared scold them, even when Rick took to eating three at a time.

"Jesus, Rick, did you forget how to swallow?

When Rick managed to do so, his words came in clear. "Shit, buddy. These cookies are like how Grandma used to make them."

"Your grandma bought them half-off at the grocery store?"

"C'mon, where's your holiday spirit! This is good shit!"

"If only we could say the same for the gift exchange." Jeremy shook his head at the collection of shoddily wrapped gifts underneath the tree. Only his looked immaculate thanks to the intern he charged with the task. The threat of a suspension guaranteed a job well done.

"Y'know what they say. Don't judge a book by its cover."

"We'll see about that."

The executives proceeded to gather around the tree at the receptionist's instructions. Rather than a traditional gift exchange, any gift could be chosen. The "player" would open it in front of everyone and the following player could either choose a new present or "steal" a gift already opened until all were chosen.

"Ah, so like Yankee Swap," Rick remarked.

"What the fuck is Yankee Swap?" Jeremy asked to which he received no explanation.

"And for the first player we nominate our very own Jeremy Blaire!" the receptionist called out.

While the tune changed to "Oh, Christmas Tree," the party offered a polite applause as if they were listening to one of his presentations in the meeting room. Usually, Jeremy would return the favor by flashing a fake smile, but now he only rolled his eyes as he made his way to the pile of gifts. According to the rules, not a single one exceeded twenty dollars. He scowled at the notion and picked the plainest package wrapped in red, as it was the only one not to hurt his eyes.

Everyone fell silent as he unwrapped it. The security guard was particularly tense as Jeremy pulled out the gift. Fresh from Amazon's warehouse was a pack of margarita cups. They were plain in design, but the back of the box described a cooling feature that promised to keep drinks ice cold for up to 24 hours.

"Damn, that's a good one," Rick said as he read over Jeremy's shoulder.

"For once, I'm inclined to agree. Apparently someone around here has some taste."

"I'll say. Way to start with a bang." His fingers mimicked a gun in punctuation.

"Was this yours?" Jeremy asked.

"Nope."

"Actually, it was mine," the security guard chimed in.

"Huh, I guess we'll never know," Jeremy said without batting an eye.

The party-goers staked their own claims, trading and stealing gifts. Scarves, calendars, and garish ties made their rounds, but no one dared touch Jeremy's cooling martini glasses.

Finally, Rick stood to take his turn. Only one gift remained under the tree, but Rick passed it by and stopped in front of Jeremy.

"You wouldn't dare," Jeremy said.

But Rick held out his hand. "The glasses. Give 'em up."

"No."

Rick tsked, shaking his head. "Sorry, buddy. I don't make the rules."

"You'll regret it if you take these."

Throwing his head back, Rick laughed. "What're you gonna do? Fire me? Fat chance! You and I both know we were hired by the same higher-ups!" He snatched the glasses and whistled, 'We Wish you a Merry Christmas" as he strolled back to his seat.

Whispers erupted in the crowd as Jeremy's jaw dropped. Now empty-handed, he scanned the party for a worthy replacement, but each item's novelty was worse than the last.

Rick pointed to the final present, covered in smiling Santa wrapping paper. "Looks like there's one last gift under the tree with your name on it, buddy!"

Sighing, Jeremy fetched it. With any luck, it'd be a hydroflask knockoff for his vodkas. He tore through the endless Santas and froze.

"C'mon, Jer!" Rick called out. "Show everyone what you got!"

Through narrowed eyes, Jeremy held up a coffee mug shaped like a toilet, complete with the handle.

Most everyone held back their snickers, but Rick cackled. "Wouldn't ya know it! That's the gift I brought!"

If Jeremy's grip tightened anymore, the handle might have shattered. Nonetheless, so long as no one looked at his white knuckles, Jeremy kept his composure as the party wound down. He offered mechanical goodbyes and rehearsed Christmas wishes to executives he couldn't name without their badges. Once the rec room emptied, Rick approached, clapping a hand on Jeremy's shoulder.

"Hey, buddy! Great party, eh?"

"Do not talk to me." Jeremy shrugged his hand off and started off, but Rick called after.

"C'mon! I just wanted to make it up to you!"

Jeremy turned around and held out the cup. "So you're going to take your shitty mug back?"

Rick doubled over laughing, holding his stomach. "That's a good one!" He gasped for breath. "Get it? Cuz it's shaped like a shitter!"

"I'm leaving," Jeremy said.

"Wait, wait, wait," Rick rushed to usher Jeremy back into the rec room. "Just hear me out."

"I'd rather not."

But Rick persisted. "Hey, how about we strike a deal." He held out his hand. "If you don't like it, you could punch my teeth out and blame it on a variant, no questions asked."

Jeremy didn't hesitate to shake his hand. "You got yourself a deal."

"I got three words for you, buddy." Rick pulled out a baggy of unidentified white powder and waved it in front of Jeremy. "Let it snow."

The track switched to "White Christmas" as Jeremy's eyes widened. "Rick...is this?"

"You know it! Purest on the market."

"Where on earth did you get this? Last I heard the only good dealer around here jumped town."

Rick chuckled. "Been saving it for a rainy day." He gave the bag a shake. "What'd ya say?"

"I say this could be a Merry Christmas after all."

So I was bored this morning and decided to make a list of all the fanfiction I’ve written over the last six months and holy moly, I knew I had a crap-ton of ideas but this is just crazy. Idk if I’ll ever get around to completing these, or uploading them, but what do ya’ll think? Lemme know if any of these aus sound interesting. 

1.  We Are All Made From Stardust. Rated T. 

   A ghost au. Laura’s clairvoyant. She can see spirits and auras around people that go unnoticed by the human eye. Some people are in awe of her gift, while others shun her. Because of her gift she was accepted into Silas University, home of all things weird and spooky. She wanted to have a normal college experience despite her super-natural abilities, but with a best friend who’s a werewolf, a mad scientist who is intent on re-creating Frankenstein, and a neurotic Floor Don who dabbles in Wicca, there’s no difference between the crazy and downright absurd.  Also, why is there an extremely attractive, incredibly annoying ghost haunting her dorm?

2. I Got Handcuffed to My Ex for 24 Hours (Not Clickbait). 

    Social media au. Carmilla and Laura work at Buzzfeed. Everyone knows that they have broken up years ago, but no one knows exactly why. They never talk about it. When comments start to pour in on recent videos about fans shipping the two, enjoying the moments they have on screen together, Lafontaine takes it upon themself to solve this mess once and for all, and get the two back together. Their plan? Handcuff them together for twenty-four hours. The result? Um. There could have been less nudity.

3.  Heart Full of Sparks. 

  An alternate ending to the movie. Not exactly human. Not exactly vampire. Both and neither. Dead but not. Alive but not. Carmilla, learning to cope with her newfound form, wants nothing more than to love Laura for the rest of her life. Well. At least that’s one thing in her life she’ll always be certain of. Life goes on.

4. Rise Up 

Inspired by the Pitch Perfect series. In which Laura and her best friend Danny try to start an all girl’s acapella group, and Carmilla vehemently refuses to join. Also, Kirsch is desperately trying to hide his affections for Danny as he teases her endlessly and brags that their team will win Nationals. Perry and Lafontaine are simply trying to prevent World War III from happening. 

5. Better Than This. (Mature.) 

Inspired by the Yuri on Ice series. Laura Hollis is down on her luck. She’s barely recovered from a horrible skating incident in the previous two seasons during her short program in the Grand Prix Final, giving the gold to her long-term friend and rival, Danny Lawrence. Meanwhile, Carmilla Karnstein just snagged her fifth consecutive win at the World Championships. She’s unsure of whether to retire or return to the ice next season. Fate draws these two unsure hearts back to the ice, as they learn to fall in love again. 

6. Versace on The Floor. (Rated E for Explicit). 

(no this is not an excuse for me to practice writing smut, what are you saying?)  Laura recently escaped a loveless relationship. Carmilla is a centuries-old vampire, searching for companionship. They meet through mutual friends, and bond over their fair share of failed relationships. They decide that since they both have similar needs, to start seeing each other. Sexy times ensue.

7. The Town that Time Forgot. 

Inspired by a Wrinkle in Time. Sixteen year-old Carmilla Karnstein travels through time and space to rescue her father, scientist Dr. Hastur Morgan. Believing to be completely un-ordinary, Carmilla struggles to fit in with her extraordinary family; her beautiful mother Lilita, who’s loving gestures turned cold since her father left, her overachieving sister Mattie, and her intelligent brother, William Luce. She encounters Laura, a shy, lonely girl who stands up for William as he’s being picked on and they find comfort in each other. When mysterious beings appear on her doorstep one wild and rainy night, her world is turned upside down and it’s up to her to rescue her father from the ancient claws of IT. 

8. Love Me Now. 

A prequel to “You Can’t Change Me, (I was Born this Way)”. Laura Hollis just escaped an abusive relationship with her father. Carmilla tries her hardest to hold everything together and protect her precious girlfriend from hurting herself further. Taking a leap of faith, they decide to post their story on YouTube. It is a scary, troubling time for them, as they struggle to regain the broken relationship they had, and mend each other’s hearts. A chilling and desperate tale about love and its sacrifices.  

9. What to Expect When You’re Expecting. 

Inspired by the movie + book (but like a gayer version, whooo) Hollstein raising a kid. Danny and Kirsch have an unplanned surprise neither of them were expecting. It’s still in brain storming mode but it’ll be an excuse to write a bunch of fluffy one-shots surrounding the series.

And no matter how far we may be roaming One conversation feels like they back home and they never even left. Talking about others, nights filled with laughter, Flipping through the yearbook pages and chapters, I’m the Urkel in this episode of my “Friends Matters”. Wiping off the smudges on my glasses, Looking past the judges of the masses, I don’t give a shit about any of these asses! Unless its the asses of these nasty ass friends of mine, Cuz i think they’ll be around all the time. Even at the drop of a dime they’re by my side to listen to another silly rhyme or at least remind me that no matter what i still shine. They always got my back goddamn i gotta love them for that.

And it’s alright. And it’s okay. We’re all good. We’re with homies. Any problems, you can call us, it’s all love. It’s our love. (x2) Our relationship! Ive been thinking a lot these past few hours on what I would do with this thing, and It’s been rough when two people I truly enjoy are both on the block, and I’m only eligible to save one. I’d like both of the nominees to know that what I’m doing is a decision strictly for game, and shows absolutely no signs of favoring one or the other on a personal standard. As a matter of fact, everyone left in the game I truly do enjoy’s company and It’s bittersweet I’m here with you all in the final 5, when only two will be in the end.
