Star Stable Online is a MMORPG! its plot seems to get pretty wild!
upon discovering that Fish was an option in the drop down name creators, i cackled with joy. this is Rusty Fishfish and Futurefish
our goal in this world was to become Fish. one glorious leap into the ocean showed us that it would be harder than anticipated, due to having taken a âdangerousâ fall. luckily it doesnât seem like horses can be injured, even though the screen flashes red if you trip while jumping.Â
i joined right after the new character models became available. i think theyâre pretty neat! some of the body types looked androgynous to me, but the game calls you a girl regardless. but you can still buy facial hair in the shop!
the world is a nice size! itâs scaled small enough that you feel like youâre going places even when your horse is physically moving a little slow, and the world is big enough that thereâs plenty to explore while still being small enough that you see other players going about their lives pretty frequently.Â
speaking of other players! shout out to @ro-sso for warning me to never open the global chat. i did! i asked how to get hay after very rapidly forgetting what i had just learned. three people told me it grew on a farm. i said Ok. when i did find the hay (in a shop) i told the chat i had been betrayed and bamboozled and they said âBAHAHAHAHAHAâ. later i used the Say chat to ask for help finding a championship that was starting soon, and everyone nearby was very helpful. you win some you lose some
quests seem to be the biggest part of the game! theyâre how you get player and horse exp and level up and get better stats for competing. a lot of the quests i did felt very tedious. lots of riding back and forth and delivering messages and so forth. the worst ones involved herding horses that kept splitting into smaller groups and running around a mall doing errands for a sketchy guy. my favorite quests were the ones where i got to open my backpack and drag a tool onto something, which felt like playing Nancy Drew. there was also one where we got to follow the visible smell of pumpkin pie on a trail to a little cottage, and it was nighttime so there were cricket sounds as well!
thereâs so much love and soul packed into this world! thereâs a pony who was elected mayor! thereâs a pirate themed race that has music just similar enough to the Pirates of the Carribean music to remind you of it while also remaining distinct! thereâs a riding club that âwears pink and not only on wednesdays.â! thereâs a girl with a pet owl named Toby who says âEven though he blathers about it, Toby loves bugs.â thereâs vague sounds of people talking in areas with lots of NPCs! thereâs a kid with a hot air balloon who takes you up to the cloud kingdom! he has a pet frog who can ride on your head! thereâs an emo electric violinist who was really funny! you can get a kitten for your saddlebag! the music is pretty decent!
the clothes very strongly remind me of being 12. something about the slightly awkward way the clothes fit is nostalgic. there were also lots of flower crowns for the summer solstice!
a huge point for this game is that it has its own pride festival!
thereâs just something about going to a new place and seeing rainbow flags everywhere, especially after the horrors of horse isle 3. i hear this game also has canon lesbian characters! this does make it even funnier that all players are assigned Cowgirl at login
the one thing that really surprised me is that if you play without a membership, you are apparently trapped in a demo version, and the rest of the game is locked behind a paywall. this sprang up on me after i started running out of quests. the game told me to level up to unlock more main quests, but the only way to get player exp was to do quests, and i pretty much ran out. this concept is really foreign to me, since every game like this that iâve played before, the membership made your life much easier and more posh, but free players could still get a lot out of the game. games like club penguin, pixie hollow, animal jam, etc. itâs only about $5 a month, though, with a permanent membership option for over 50 dollars. i have not purchased it, but if I ever do, i will update my rating. :)
while googling the above problem to figure out what was going on, i learned that there's no level cap and there's seasonal events that give EXP, so even if you've finished the whole game, there can still be players more powerful than you with better stats dominating the competition. that seems ! a little rough! they also said that after you beat the game, there's not much left to do. hopefully the fun part is the journey and not the destination!
all in all, though, we did it. we became Fish.
and that makes it all worth it.
iâm rating Star Stable Online 4.5 out of 5 stars!

please feel free to submit horse games or ask me to reevaluate! next up is Alicia Online!

Sometimes I wonder if people realize how snobby they sound when they act like people not being able to read into the deeper meanings of shows or books are just being deliberately obtuse or unintelligent. First of all, itâs ableist. Some people literally do not have the IQ to process things that way, and they shouldnât feel ashamed of whatever way they can and do enjoy their fandom.
Second of all, it feels to me like youâre assuming everyone has had access to the kind of education where youâre taught those things. (And that you had the ability to learn in a traditional class environment) Personally, I had one year of public school, and the rest of my schooling was extremely lackluster. I never had a single class in my life where we read through a book and were taught how to look for symbolism, tropes, or any of the other things that people seem to know about when theyâre talking about media. I didnât go to college either, another thing thatâs not terribly uncommon, so the only way I would have learned all that stuff was by studying it by myself.
Now, you might say, âThatâs how I learned it!â You might be super smart and super motivated because youâre interested in it, but again, itâs kind of ignoring the different ways that peopleâs brains work, and also their life circumstances. Iâm chronically ill, neurodivergent, and have a heck load of trauma. Iâve spent most of my adult life just trying to freaking survive, and when Iâm in survival mode, I shut down. I end up only doing the things that are easy for my brain to process in my downtime because Iâm so damn tired just trying to get through the basics of adult life.
Iâm FINALLY at a place in my life where I have enough safety and time to be able to focus and learn things on my own, and I still end up often using the brain space that I do have to learn things that actually give me a shot at creating a better life for myself, ya know? Skills that I might be able to turn into a way to make money. This is not to say you might not have the exact same circumstances as me and youâve self-educated yourself about a lot of shit. Good for you. Thatâs the way your brain lets you do things, and you should feel lucky.
Anyway, just know that viewing intelligence through a single type of lens has its roots in classism, racism, and ableism, and maybe just think about that the next time youâre writing a post about this kind of stuff. Honestly, I LOVE the people who actually talk about the symbolism and other things they catch in TV shows and books etc, because thatâs been a really nice way for me to gain a little education about it in a way thatâs fun and interesting. Thereâs a real difference between someone doing a post where they talk through something they loved in their fave show or book and point out all the parallels and color choices and what that means, versus someone basically saying, âI mean DUH. Youâd think they havenât even watched the show. OBVIOUSLY the red balloon represents his hopes for the future.â That kind of energy is not useful.
#fandom life#Sophie has thoughts#that she will probably delete later :P#tldr some of us are uneducated and tired okay?#you donât have some moral high ground because you know shit

*frantically grabbing my Ghouls And Hematology notebook* no, no, tell us about blood bags - -
Okie Dokie :D (I need very little encouragement to talk about blood)
Time once again for Kait's Science Corner. Um below the cut for mentions of blood (duh) but its rather clinical and not actually gorey. Also included for free is a small rant about vampiric characters and blood bags because I love that trope and it cracks me up.
I think blood bags are so neat because not only do they normally have that feel to them of those squishy water tube toys, but there are different types for different products.
Blood gets split up into 4 different products: pRBC (packed red blood cells), FFP (fresh frozen plasma), platelets, cryprecipitate (the concentrated coagulation factor parts of plasma)
I know the RBC units are the fun sexy ones that people think of when they talk about blood which makes sense but there are the other components too. Technically speaking in transfusion for blood loss a 1:1 ratio of RBCs to FFP is recommended. So I constantly am like where is the plasma.
pRBC (packed red blood cell) bags have different types of additives in them. The additives are essentially a preservative, acting as food for the red cells and also an anticoagulant.
The bags for platelets are super cool to me cause they obviously need to be closed off so that bacteria cannot get in, especially since platelets are stored at room temp, but also platelets need to breathe so there still is oxygen exchange through the bag.
FFP have water balloon energy to me and I want to throw them so bad once they are thawed. (They are kept frozen until needed because once thawed its only good for 5 days)
NOW for the built in vampire rant. I LOVE LOVE LOVE when vampiric characters are just drinking a bad of blood or like have a connection to get bags of blood because it is always pRBCs and thats funny to me. I know that this is because then it reads as blood instead of weird goo but it still cracks me up because like what is happening to the rest of it? It is something that I love to think about!
It makes me feel like those types of vampiric characters are the vegetarians essentially of the vampiric world. Like they are only drinking the RBC component.
That or like what if the plasma component is like the vampire equivalent of a milkshake or a nice soda. Is cryopoor plasma (the plasma left over after cryoprecipitate gets made) the vampire equivalent of diet soda, except instead of aspartame its albumin? The idea cracks me up so much and I adore it.
Also yes jokes about vampires liking certain ABO types, but there are other antigens on those cells and I can't help but think about if they also have flavor. Do the different perservatives have a taste???? These are the vampire things I think about :D
EDIT because I was silly and forgot to mention it: There also are bags of whole blood that essentially is just if a blood donation never got separated into the individual components. They really only get made for trauma scenarios though. I guess those could be drank as well but also the plasma and the red cells separate out in the bag and then mix back together when you wiggle them around. Kinda like when you have a layered drink and then stir it :)
#tw blood#kaits science corner#nocturnal asks#askingforthesun#let it be clear I am just excited to talk about blood. this has nothing to do with the original comment I made because again I love it

rahhh hi again! I loved reading your response to my movie review, you made a lot of good points! first of all im so sorry your poor 7-year-old self had to suffer through the 1996 movie :(( I dont have adhd but I can imagine how you must have not liked it AND MISS HONEYS DRESS HAD HOT AIR BALLOONS?? I did not notice that, how cute!! I'm in love love her cottagecore/pastel style, it fits her personlity so well i think. and ooh the red beret girl is called hortensia? cool, thanks! I read her name in your fics and I wasnt quite sure who she was so thank you đ and it was interesting to hear your view on the songs!! And I'm gonna be honest here, I've listened to Naughty, Revolting Children, and This Is My House at least once a day since I watched the movie đ THEY'RE SO FUN :D i also love This Is My House so much, it's such a sweet and deep songgggg uhggshdhsd đi think one of the reasons I wasn't a fan of how many songs there are is beacuse I've watched maybe 2 musicals in my life so far, and I'm more of a slow-burn dialog girl. But thats awesome you love them!! and I'd like to take back what I said about Matilda being timid in the 1996 movie. The way you described her as being bristly, clever and conniving was perfect. I think I said that because I'm just not used to her being so loud and bold with her clever whit and sense of justice đ (also ignore how many of the crying emojis im using lolll its a habit) so it stood out to me more than it would if I had watched the musical before 1996. i absolutely agree with what you said about miss honey. She's the soft and sweet people-pleaser type. She'll sacrfice herself to help others I think, and hates conflict. However like you said, I think that she has bravery inside her. And if it came down to protecting Matilda or something like that, she could absolutly stand up for herself. I think that her escapologist father and acrobat mother are lying right beneath her skin, just waiting to be let out. (not them literally ofc, but their daring, bold, and powerful spirit that has been passed down to jenny)
thanks for sharing your thoughts!! -đ¸
hello again!!
it is absolutely fine i was just a coward lol. iâve. obviously watched it since and it has a special place in my heart iâm over all the second grade nonsense lmao
EVERYONES CLOTHES IN 2022 ARE WILD. the set and the costumes have so much detail itâs bonkers and i still notice new things every time i watch it and go !!!!!!
thatâs absolutely valid musicals absolutely have a kind of learning curve to them lol. matilda was the first one that i got really into on my own accord after being raised on annie and being friends with theater kids who talked about others. but matilda was the first one where i was like đđđđđ hello. and that kickstarted my whole musicals thing and now i am here
i find it so interesting that you look at it a different way now!! i thought all your points in the first ask were incredibly valid but iâm glad (not the word iâm looking for but whatever) that i kinda got to shift your perspective a little! also we love the crying emoji never apologize
you are absolutely right abt everything here and iâm hopeful you learn to love musicals (or at least not be thrown off by the number of songs lmao)
thank you for sharing yours!! it was really fun getting to see a different opinion/pov so thank you for sharing :)

Understanding Pronouns A comprehensive guide to different types
Welcome to a magical adventure into the world of words
Pronouns are like magic words that make our sentences smoother and more exciting. Instead of repeating the same names repeatedly, we can use pronouns to replace them. This blog will explore different types of pronouns that help us talk about people, things, ownership, questions, and more. It's like a magical adventure into the world of words!
What do pronouns mean?
Pronouns are like magical words that replace nouns, which are the names of people, places, or things. Instead of saying the same noun again and again, we use pronouns to make our sentences sound smooth and interesting.
Here's a list of some common pronouns
He
It
You
I
They
We
Who
Him
Here are some examples of pronouns:
1. Tom is riding a bike
He is riding a bike.
2. Emma loves to sing
She loves to sing.
3. The cake is delicious, and it has chocolate.
Instead of saying "the cake" again
4. Raj, Ram, and I were playing football with friends
We were playing football with friends.
5. Sara loves watching movies.
She loves watching movies, especially if they are comedies.
6. Will Daisy be going to the market with Lily?
Will she be going there with her?
See how we used "he," "she," "it", "we" etc. to take the place of the nouns? That's what pronouns do!
Various Types of Pronouns
Pronouns have a variety of kinds, and each one performs a particular purpose. Let's get to know them one by one:
Personal Pronouns
These pronouns are all about persons. They can stand for a person's name. The most typical examples are:
I, me, you, he, him, she, her, it, we, us, they, them
Some examples are:
She loves ice cream. (She)
They are going to the park. (They)
He is my best friend. (He)
Possessive Pronouns
These pronouns show ownership. They tell us who something belongs to.
 Here are a few:
Mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
Some examples are:
That teddy bear is mine. (Mine)
Is this book yours? (Yours)
The red bike is hers. (Hers)
Reflexive Pronouns
Reflexive pronouns talk about actions that someone does to themselves. They often end in "-self" or "-selves."
Here are a few:
Myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves
Some examples are:
I can tie my shoes myself. (Myself)
She saw herself in the mirror. (Herself)
They washed themselves after playing in the mud. (Themselves)
Demonstrative Pronouns
These pronouns help point out specific things. They are:
This, that, these, those
Some examples are:
This cookie is delicious. (This)
I like those colourful balloons. (Those)
Are these your crayons? (These)
Interrogative Pronouns
When we have questions, we use interrogative pronouns. The main ones are:
Who, whom, whose, which, what
Some examples are:
Whose backpack is this? (Whose)
Which ice cream flavour is your favourite? (Which)
What do you want for your birthday? (What)
Relative Pronouns
These pronouns help connect ideas and describe things. You might have heard of "who," "whom," "whose," "which," and "that"
Some examples are
The car that you're driving is new. (That)
The book which I'm reading is interesting. (Which)
The person who won the race is my friend. (Who)
Indefinite Pronouns
Indefinite pronouns are like mystery pronouns â they don't point to a specific person or thing.
Here are a few:
All, some, none, any, many, few, several, both, either, neither, nobody, everybody, someone, everyone
Some examples are
Many attended the party. (Many)
Few completed the challenge. (Few)
Everybody loves pizza. (Everybody)
Reciprocal Pronouns
These pronouns show that two or more people are doing something to each other. There are only two of them:
Each other, one another
Some examples are
They high-fived each other. (Each other)
The friends supported one another. (One another)
We hugged warmly, showing love for each other. (Each other)
Conclusion: Make your sentences sparkle with magic
So, now you know about these amazing pronouns that make our language more interesting and efficient. Personal pronouns represent people, possessive pronouns show ownership, reflexive pronouns talk about doing things to ourselves, demonstrative pronouns point out things, interrogative pronouns help us ask questions, relative pronouns connect ideas, indefinite pronouns are like mysteries, and reciprocal pronouns show how we interact with others. With these pronouns, you can become a word wizard and make your sentences sparkle with magic! Keep practicing and have fun with words!

Armaggedon's toll dump post nr 1
So I've decided to to finally gather myself and share the things I came up with for the AT au (at least the ones ill be able to spill out of my brain). Though, it means that I have to explain the game mechanics since,
a) there's a lot of small details I used,
b) Transformice is not a very well known game = lots of confusion
So this post is going to be some kind of like.. worldbuilding & game explaining one?? Bear with me pls I have 1k+ hours in tfm its rooted too deeply into my brain, forgive me for the absoltue monster that is this au.
This post's main purpose it to lay down the foundation for all my tinkering I did with existing material. If you're familiar with tfm, skip to the point nr. 5 or 6 since I know that even if you have more hours than me, you didn't realise there was lore in this french rat game.
Basics of the basics.
Game loop
Nescessary abilities (wall jump & shaman magic)
Monetary system
Other game modes (summaries without much detail)
Transformice Adventures
Established lore
important note: read image descriptions!
-----
Game loop
Main purpose of the player (a mouse) in classic modes is to get cheese and go to the mouse hole to complete the map.
In most of the maps the player with the highest amount of points (the faster you get to the hole with cheese the higher is the amount of points you get from that round) is selected as the shaman- a mouse blessed by goddess Ălisah to help others complete maps (building/spawning abilities) Each time player succesfully brings the cheese back to the mouse hole, they get 1 Cheese.
2. Nescessary abilities (wall jump & shaman magic)
Shamans can spawn objects and connect them to the map or connect to eachother using anchors. Base items accessed by all shamans are; ball, long plank, short plank, big box, small box, anvil, arrow, spirit, rune, cannonball, balloon and trampoline.
There are 3 types of anchors:
Red- can be used only on planks, binding them by their center to the map itself, making it immovable. Red nailed planks can only spin akin to a fan.
Yellow- nails an object down to an already spawned item. Such objects cannot move in different angles than in the position it was nailed down in. Can be moved by pushing the whole construction- it's not connected to the map.
Blue- nails an object down to an already spawned item. Such objects move by using the blue anchor as a 'joint'. Can be moved by pushing the whole construction- it's not connected to the map.
There is an exception with balloons and red nails- balloons can be tied to a mouse using those anchors.
Shamans also posses the ability to go up their skill trees to access more magic- I won't cover it entirely here, mostly because it's a big part of the AU with a massive amount of detail added.
Wall jump. Even if you can play the game with a small understanding of shaman magic, not having the ability to wall jump will definitely make the game unplayable.
It was originally a bug, but was left unpatched due to how game changing and useful it is. Now it is at the core of the whole game.
3. Monetary system
There are 2 main currencies in the world of Transformice- Cheese and Fraises. Cheese is your typical normal money while the strawberries are the expensive, and mostly acquired by mini transactions, rich people money. This will be explored more in other posts.
Cheese and Fraises are used to buy cosmetics such as furs, hats and shaman item reskins.
4. Other game modes
Games modes are different spins on the basic formula.
Transformice- classic experience with maps made by the community, ranging from difficult puzzles to beautiful art maps.
Vanilla- classic experience but only with easy maps confirmed and made by admins.
Defilante- race with time, gather points and power ups to rise your score.
Survivor- dodge shaman's cannonballs and be the last mouse standing.
Racing- be the fastest mouse to complete maps specifically tailored to your racing needs.
Modules- custom modules made by the community (yes, there is both amogus and minecraft)
Village- rest at the local village, chat with friends and trade with NPCs for special trophies.
Bootcamp- hard maps only for the most experienced.
5. Transformice Adventures
TFMA is a multiplayer action RPG placed in the world of the original Transformice game. Currently it is sitting on the back burner as Atelier 801 focuses more on the older game, though the demo is still functional and enjoyable when not lagging. (Steam demo is harder to get since it's not downloadable on the TFMA page anymore)
What is great about this game is how it intertwines with whatever story we already had and expands on how the world functions.
And what's even more important is the addition of combat and Ălisah's gifts.
Mice have the ability to wield and master weapons such as: daggers, swords, long swords, great swords, claymores, bows and shields. Along with proffesions (classes which you can select to play as) and previously shown Village, it solidifies mice as a functioning society with a clear level of technological advancement and set borders of what it has and doesn't have the ability to do.
Ălisah's gifts are bonuses received after winning a section of a dungeon. The blessings themselves develop the magic system of shamans, implying the existence of a fourth class in the society; common mice blessed by their goddess- protectors with similiar attributes to shamans, but whose magic can only affects their own body and personal items.
I've dubbed them the Guardians, which makes the mouse society consist of: priestesses, shamans, guardians and common mice.
Classes and hierarchy will be further discussed in the next posts as in dips deeply into 'running a functional country' topics.
6. Established lore
As many times mentioned by this point, Elisah is the main deity of mice and is considered the most powerful in the world of Transformice. She is characterised as a caring and loving omnipresent being.
Shamans are gifted feathers from her wings and locks of her golden hair to acces her power and use magic (the feathers seen behind their heads and the hair at the end of shaman tail charm). The mouse standing highest before their goddess is the High Priestess, named Berta Gooda with another priestess, Mirolle Gooda, standing in second as Berta's sister.
Presumably born indirectly from Elisah's power, considering how he is created out of shaman objects, is the evil Anvil God- main source of malice in the known world.
There are other deity like beings, though they don't play as big roles as Elisah and Anvil God- who are polar forces. (It should be mentioned that creatures classified as deities only need to be able to use magic outside of their shaman turn (actively possessing a feather and a lock of hair), so not all of them are god like)
The others include:
The Dragon- a snake turned dragon by the blessing of Elisah who was touched by his story of protecting his beloved- a mouse.
Lananah- shapeshifter mouse (i'm decanonising her humanoid form please why deos it exist crying sobbing) guardian angel of mice, presumably sent by Elisah judging by the shaman tail charm she wears. Was the one to show mice how to wall jump.
The Three Shaman Queens- traveled with gifts to Elisah while being guided by Cheese Moon. Upon receiving the three gifts, Elisah gave them shaman powers, resulting in the creation of the first skill trees (Spiritual Guide, Wind Master and Mechanician).
Cheese Moon- ever-present in the sky, she is worshipped by all. Every mice at birth is assigned their own atrological cheese by her. Instead of sacrifice, she asks for friendship and peace among rodents, as well as requesting the reunion of all 12 astrological cheeses. Along with The Cruel God, there is no edvidence of her being created by Elisah.
The Cruel God- The only confirmed evil that has not originated from Elisah's magic. According to ancient folklore, mice used to be beings with 4 legs, 4 arms and 2 heads who were split into 2 legged, 2 armed with a single head beings by The Cruel God. Because of his actions, mice now feel uncomplete, looking for their lost halves in daily life, resulting in soulmates, both platonic and romantic. Thanks to lore revealed along with The Cruel God's appearance, it is a fact that mice have been carrying their stories for a long time, proving that the rodents hold universally constant beliefs.
There is a storyline that directly ties TFM and TFMA together, forming a timeline that I later on forged into AT's story.
During the 2018 Fishing event, Berta Gooda calls for mice to help her rebuild the Ancient Capital to it's former glory after the events of Armageddon 2016/2018 events (Anvil God launched an attacked on the capital, but was stopped by players bringing magic feathers to the Elisah statue and activating it's properties of protecting from evil).
"In the event, Berta asks players to collect and bring her the relics (which she describes as "rubble" and "debris") in order to help her rebuild the Ancient Capital. Additionally, the event article says that she "would do anything for her Goddess", referencing Elisah as her Goddess.
However, with more relics being brought to her, Berta's appearance changesâher Shaman feather and markings change color from blue to dark purple, dark spots appear on her fur, and her clothes become damaged. The Elisah statue also changes, with it becoming darker, cracks appearing, and strange symbols being drawn on it.
After four relics are collected and the map is played again, a cutscene plays, showing Berta destroying Elisah's statue with a huge anvil, then fleeing the Capital towards a mountain. The statue on the map is then replaced by scaffolding, and Mirolle replaces Berta's spot on the map." -Quote from Berta Gooda's Wiki page. (it just explains everything clearly xd)
Note: the mentioned relics are event items that players can aquire and hold onto during relic based events.
Now, take a look at the cutscene images.
It is never confirmed where exactly did Berta flee to, but the mountain in the last scene bears a striking resemblance to the Granite Beak of DĂŠca Mountains found on the TFMA map. It is also the only actual peak resembling cutscene one, but that's beside the point.
After that, Mirolle can be found in the TFMA Mice Village, worried and presumably looking for her older sister.
Armageddon's toll takes place after those events, featuring mice dealing with the results of losing the head of their society and the destruction of the artefact that had been keeping them safe for as far as they can remember. Now they have to try and survive in the now dangerous and corrupted land.
But what do I mean by saying "destruction of the artefact that had been keeping them safe"? Wasn't the statue rebuilt?
How do Guardians function?
What can shaman magic do in practise?
How is their society functional to the point of having towns and currency?
These questions and topics will be answered and explored in the future posts.

muddle along or: the Pokemon / TMA crossover Iâve been promising @speakerunfolding for AGES jonmartin early S4
Jon considers the knapsack left for him.
Exhaustion is already feasting on any clarity he might have obtained in the near quiet. His body stiff, unused to the casual labour of his bones. The storage room, its shelves overburdened, the air vents popping like cracked knuckles, has gained nothing in his absence except a resurgence of dust and, in a dismal corner, a pile of boxes and a suitcase. A pathetic truncated shrine to his thirty odd years of living.
They moved his possessions here, when his rent went unpaid, when his water bills and council tax and internet payment reminders piled up like demanding snowdrift on his mucky welcome mat. Mutely, he glances over the hastily sellotaped boxes that now form his packaged-up life with all the distance that six months of bad dreams have afforded him.
He wonders who packed up his kitchenware, despairing at the mismatched cutlery harvested from student halls and charity-shop finds; clucked their teeth at the bread freckling mouldy in the barren landscape of his fridge; folded his clothes neatly into the suitcase he always kept stuffed under his unmade bed, even pairing up his socks; who took the books off his shelves in the belief he might thumb through them again one day.
He wonders if it was Martin.
Basira gave him the knapsack some hours ago. When heâd found some semblance of normalcy in the dull weight of a sandwich coating his stomach, dressed in clothes that now hang like rags off a coat hanger, sat at the table in the otherwise empty staff room with the heat of a cup of tea cactus-prickling his palms.
âHe asked if youâd look after them,â sheâd said. The strap of the bag held securely in the jaw of her Absol. âWhile heâs â well, you knowâŚâ She waves an exasperated done-with-it hand that manages to express a multitude of emotions that refract and merge like the morphing shades of a bruise. âDoing whatever the hell it is heâs doing. Or he thinks heâs doing.â
Jon wishes he knew.
He sits cross-legged in front of the storage room door, a sharp-boned barricade, thrumming like a struck tuning fork with the thought that even here, he will not be safe.
Gardevoir is a heavy weight against his shoulder. Sheâs quieter than he remembers, solemn and sombre in her new form. She used to demand being lifted up when she was Ralts, her flat red horns digging into his chest and leaving impressions, scrabbling down to shelter half-behind his legs when strangers approached. He left for the Unknowing and sheâd been Kirlia, her face set and her cries insistent and infuriated, trying to push her Pokeball into his hand to make him bring her with them. Tim hadnât asked where she was, when they all piled into the rental car, Houndoom taking up one of the seats in the back but snarling when Basira suggested putting her in her ball.
Jon doesnât know when she evolved. It pains him, a dull-knife strike of thought, another wave against his tide-bashed flood barriers, to have slept through such a moment in her life when every other milestone they shared together.
âNow is a good a time as any, I suppose?â he asks her. His voice traces above a whisper. His Abra has calmed now, drained down from a difficult and teary reunion, and is now breathing deep and slow, curled into the port of his crossed legs. His three-fingered hands are still clenching the fabric of Jonâs shirt.
Gardevoir nods. Then gives him a nudge and a look when it seems as though heâs stalling, when he must be bleeding out apprehension like watercolours seeping through paper.
âCanât get anything past you now, huh,â he says. She smiles, fond and he manages a short smile back, and it is almost, almost like it was before.
The bag is old, its original function probably for a laptop of some kind. The plasticky outer skin of it has rubbed away, flaking to mesh at the edges, the piping worn down to wires. Jon folds back the front of the bag, and inside there are four Pokeballs, the basic and cheapest red-and-white models. Jon had worked a thankless summer job at a beach-side amusement arcade to save up the money to get Ralts a customised ball, and had done similar when Abra came along a few years later.
To the side of the Pokeballs, ziplocked and labelled, there is a small forest of freezer bags bulging with berries and treats and care equipment. In a plastic pocket, there are precisely written instructions pertaining to each Pokemon and their requirements, and Jonâs throat tightens unexpectedly to see Martinâs looping joined-up handwriting, to see words that seem penned by someone who doesnât expect to be coming back.
Gardevoir makes a low noise next to him. Her arm alighting on his, a solid weight, grounding. Jon clears his throat and takes out the Pokeball nearest the top, pushing the button on the front so the size balloons to fill his palm.
Most people have one Pokemon, maybe two, unless theyâre involved in competitive breeding and training. When Abra came along, he remembers his gran remarking on the upkeep, how it would be his responsibility to feed and care for and train them, and it hadnât been the cheapest venture but Jon had born the expense gladly. Â It doesnât surprise him that Martin has amassed so many in comparison to the norm.
At lunch one day years ago, the weather nipping frost-touched, theyâd sat outside a cramped cafe because thereâd been no seats indoors, and Martin had confessed that he was always taking them in. Thinking back, Jon knows that Martin was attempting to keep the conversation buoyant, coaxing him away from deeper, darker waters. Jon remembers being irritated, sore-eyed with sleeplessness, his spine strung with paranoia.
âMy lost causes, Mum called them,â Martin had said, and his voice had tried for a levity that landed without cushioning. Heâd torn off a bit from the end of his panini to feed a hopeful-looking Pidove pecking expectantly around their feet. The cause of the conversational turn, Martinâs newest acquisition, had sat grumpily mewling on the other manâs knee, wriggling and sniping as he tried to feed them some medication heâd got from the vet. Despite himself, Jon had been distracted from miring thoughts of Gertrude by watching Martinâs charade unfold, the man making a show of giving up with a theatrical sigh to scratch the Nidoran behind the ears in a show of defeat, being careful of their spikes. The Nidoran had headbutted his hand whenever his motions slowed to stopping, and Martin had used the distraction to fold a chorizo slice heâd pulled from his panini around the pill, which the Nidoran had happily snaffled from his fingers, gulping it down before returning to demand affection.
âTheyâll be all healed up within the week,â Martin had continued, plastering over the continued lull with his chattering. âIâve taken in a few Nidorans before, they tend to be pretty hardy.â He had scratched under the Nidoranâs chin as his words ebbed with the nudging of an undemanding tide.
Jon had picked at his sandwich as Martin had fold him about hiding Pidgeys and Swablus in an old shoebox under his bed, lined with the nesting material of some of his t-shirts donated to the cause. A chipped-edge bowl borrowed from the kitchen brimming with water and his own early team of Pokemon keeping them company while their wings healed in their splints before they were strong enough to leave again.
These four Pokeballs in the knapsack arenât just random strays. Theyâre Martinâs Pokemon. The ones that never left him, the ones that heâs raised and doted upon and taken worriedly to the Pokecentre over every cough and sniffle and fever.
And for the meantime, theyâre Jonâs.
Jon presses the release button on the first ball.
There is a chittering surprised coo as an Oddish materialises in a buzz of light and reforming matter. Â They reform to stand a little higher than Jonâs ankle, only to fold their leaves half over their eyes at the unkindness of the halogen strip light. They totter when they take a step, tumbling to sitting with an affronted noise before, with a determined heft, they rock themselves up to standing again. Jonâs seen Martinâs Oddish before, approaching every walk around the assistantâs office space like a tightrope. Tim had bought them a little plant pot as a novelty Christmas gift once, and theyâd unironically loved it, hopping into it cosily and getting specks of soil all over Martinâs desk.
Their leaves are poked through with ragged little holes, like theyâve been nibbled away, the green tinged in places to a sickly yellow. In the bag there is a vial of luminous blue medicine, complete with dropper and application instructions. Itâs a stress thing, he dimly remembers Martin had once explained to him. Itâs like an eczema, of a sort, that afflicts Grass-types, but it affects Oddishâs balance when it flares up.
The Oddish looks at Jon. They donât have a neck as such, so they lean their whole bulb-like body backwards on their stumpy legs to study Gardevoir, who gives a reassuring blink. They glance around the storage room and its uninspired treasures of boxes and the unpromisingly weak-seeming metal frame of the cot, with a fretful shake of their leaves. Theyâre expecting to see someone else.
âHello,â Jon says. He clears his throat, attempting to present a friendly face, to avoid the grimace he senses forming at his discomfort, his presentation to a critical audience that is already finding him wanting. âIâm⌠well, Iâm Jon. Youâve probably seen me before, Iâm um⌠Iâm a f-friend of Martinâs. Heâs, well, heâs not here at the moment. But he asked me to look after you. While heâs â heâs away.â
Oddish blinks their beady round red eyes. Their leaves wave uncertainly with the lazy swish of palm fronds. They coo again, a longer sound, plaintive and stretched out in melancholy. They take the opportunity to look around again, a full-body swivel that has them unbalanced, but Gardevoir leans down with a careful hand to steady them upright.
Jon watches them amble off to study their surroundings. Every so often crying out in a searching noise. Gardevoir keeps an eye on them as they rootle around in one of the boxes they can reach.
The next few releases are equally unsuccessful. Skitty reforms only to barrel under the cot as a pink-and-white blur, slinking further back with his tail swishing furiously whenever Jon addresses him. One undamaged ear twitches anxiously. The next Pokemon fails to materialise at all, refusing to leave their ball.
This was a mistake. Martin should have known better, known him enough to see that he would be no good at this, his skills in offering comfort atrophied. He can barely take care of himself, these days. Never mind additional charges who are scared, who need reassurance that is rendered rusty in his throat.
He reaches out to cradle the last ball in his cupped palms. He knows who is inside. The youngest of Martinâs acquisitions, and as far as Jon was aware, full-on adverse to getting inside a Pokeball. Their favoured mode of travel was Martin, using him as a climbing frame while he attempted to work, kicking their little feet against his forehead, clinging giggly to his mop of hair to get a better view, squealing shrill and disruptive and delighted when Martin would playfully shake his head to rock them. He thinks with the uncertainty that memory offers him, that Sasha had loved them, lifted them and pretending to throw them while they chattered and babbled, snuck them berries when Martin wasnât looking. Jon has paid ear to more than one lecture from Martin on nutrition and proper feeding times and sugar levels. They might have played with Sashaâs own Pokemon, like they had tottered after Houndourâs short and wagging tail when she was out of her ball, like they had ran after Skitty to join in games, but that memory has been scratched from recollection like initials scored out of tree bark.
They were by nature vocal, rambunctious, unthinking and unheedful of danger, a child really, and Martin had been forever apologising when Jon would find them where they werenât meant to be, carrying them back cautiously and carefully to Martinâs fretful hands. He thinks Martin had thought that they had irritated him. It hadnât been that. They had been so small, smaller than they should have been for their species, the runt of some litter abandoned or lost by their parent or cracked and emerging blinking from their egg over-early. They had been so curious, and the world of the archives had grown increasingly unsafe around them. Jon had worried, in his own poorly expressed way.
He presses the button, and aims at the ground. Martinâs Togepi manifests in a fizz of red light and sound crackling like champagne.
They turn around with a confused noise.
Jon gets the chance to voice an awkward, low-pitched âhelloâ before they take one look at him and their face clenches upset, breath starting to bubble with sobs.
âOh, oh, nonono, hey,â Jon says, scooping them up into his hands. Abra is dislodged, wakes up startled and teleports a few feet away with a âpopâ of displaced air. âItâs⌠nonono, shush, itâs alright.â
Big messy tears fall out of screwed up eyes. Hitching sobs lengthen into wails. Jon looks frantically at Gardevoir as he rocks and shushes the bawling Pokemon against his chest in a way Martin was so much better at.
Martin would know what to do, what to say. How all this could work out for the best. But Martin isnât here.
Jonâs own eyes dampen.
âShshshsh,â he croaks thickly. âItâs â itâs going to be alright. Iâve got you.â
He uses the sleeve of his shirt to wipe away the worst of the tears. He strokes the top of Togepiâs head.
âItâs going to be alright,â Jon repeats.
Many hours later, Jon wakes up, cotton-mouthed and his back vengeful for the position heâs slept in. His legs, still crossed, have degraded to numbness that heâll pay for as soon as he wants to stand. In his lap, he sees the matryoshka doll set up thatâs occurred, Togepi exhaling with little whistling breaths into Abraâs chest, Abraâs face planted against Jonâs shirt. Skitty has emerged from his defensive fort under the cot to coil into a ball of heat, curled up in the crook of Abraâs overhanging tail. Gardevoir is half-awake in that dozing but alert way she has, and she must have turned off the light in the room because itâs dark except for the emergency glow from the fire-exit sign that casts the walls and floor in an unsettling green. Jon sees the husk of an opened Pokeball, the shadow of something small and yellow crouched on Gardevoirâs shoulder, and something inside him eases, just a little bit.
Oddish is looking up at him from the floor. Jon moves the only hand he has thatâs not squashed under Abra, and when he sets it down they alight with an unsteady gait and he transfers them to the higher terrain of his knee. He rubs a careful finger along their leaves until they sit, their head nodding as they struggle to stave off sleep, although they still glance around with uncertain eyes.
The room has dropped colder. Oddish shivers along with Jon.
âI know,â Jon says. âI miss him too.â

Soulmates
JJK X Reader soulmate AU
Warnings: Minor character death(car crash, only mentioned nothing graphic), Drinking
I donât know if this is what you (the requester) were going for? this is somehow where I ended up
Everyone in this world has a soulmate. Someone that is meant to complete them and make them feel whole.
Your other half can be identified by the matching birthmark hidden somewhere on their body. There are also a lot of people whose marks are so close to matching that it almost feels like the real thing⌠almost. Sadly, many donât ever get to experience the love of their true soulmate, so they settle for the closest they can get.
Jungkook was convinced he was one of the lucky few. Looking at her made his heart feel like it was going to burst. Every time he saw her the world got brighter, the birds started singing a little louder, and his stress nearly melted away entirely ⌠nearly. But at 17 no one is going to pay attention to nearly.
Their birthmarkâs matched so closely, each sporting a small puzzle piece on opposite wrists. You wouldnât even bat an eyelid at the loved-up pair as they walked together hand in hand. And he loved her so completely, and her him, that they never thought to question it. Madly in love until the day she died.
Jungkook spent weeks almost comatose when the news of her car crash reached him. Couldnât move, eat, sleep. To lose your soulmate so young was said to be a fate worse than never finding them at all. Even after coming through the other side people could tell he wasnât the same carefree young boy he had been, most likely never would be again. His eyesâ looked far older than his years now, his soft features much more angular.
Three months after her death he resolve to never fall in love again, happy in the knowledge that he got to know her even for such a short amount of time.
âŚ.
You met Jungkook at a party. Someone from Uni decided that 24 was the right age for a big birthday bash. They hired out an entire club and set up a series of activities for people to enjoy. A mechanical ball on the main floor, a ball pit to the side, a BBQ in the smoking area, and a bouncy castle in the downstairs 90âs themed area. It really was an amazing event. You however spent most of your time watching the quiet Korean boy in the corner, every time his eyes met yours you felt compelled to move to him, talk to him, dance with him, anything that would get his attention on you. At the time you put it down to the alcohol. It took you exactly 3 and a half drinks to pick up the courage and interrupt his current conversation.
He was very sweet, really sweet considering he clearly didnât want to be talking to you. It was evident in the way his eyes shifted and the nervous playing with his sleeves, still you persevered. Something about him wouldnât let you give up, not yet at least. Your saving grace came when your favourite band came blaring over the speakers. âPRETTYMUCHâ arenât an underrated band per say but itâs difficult to find someone who knows them in your circle, so when Jungkookâs face lit up at the same time as yours you knew you had your in. So with the Phases remix blaring through the club you took your opportunity.
âI love this song!â You took his hand and pulled him on to the dance floor before you really realised thatâs what you are doing. To start with he was frozen, a little shocked by your boldness, but as you gave it your all he joined in, loosening up for the first time that entire night. After that it was a lot easier to talk to him, you actually went into the smoking area to talk more about shared music interests.
After you went to get a drink you got caught up with some others and he came to find you. It felt like an electric shock when heâd grabbed your hand to get your attention, but there were a lot of balloons around so that would explain the residual electricity. By the time the party was over, and the club was closing, you didnât want to leave him, not just now but ever. You found yourselves wandering around aimlessly, talking about nothing until the sun came up. Looking back it was then you decided Jungkook was it for you. You had never really believed in the soulmate tradition until you met him.
Weeks go by of you texting back and forth. You found out the reason he was so into music was because he was a musician himself, he even promised to perform for you sometime. A lot of promises were made in those messages.
âThereâs this amazing Restaurant in the cityâ you claimed promising to take him with you next time.
âI really want to see this movieâ he said promising to pay for tickets when it came out.
âWe should go see this band togetherâ The number one promise between the two of you, quickly racking up a lot of different acts to see together.
So when one of those bands turned up on the roster for the local youâd bought tickets immediately sending him the confirmation. Your stomach had fluttered thinking about seeing him in person again. And so you counted down the days as they passed. Picked and repicked your outfit. Talked yourself in and out of going. Eventually the day arrived. The doorbell signalling his arrival was deafening, ringing out through your small studio apartment. You took a few deep breaths before opening the door.
He was flawless, your tipsy memory hadnât done him justice. A broad chest draped in a white long sleeve tee, ripped skinnies straining against his thighs, his hair swept into a James Dean quiff. You mightâve laughed at the way your outfits had accidently matched (a black crop with white skinnies) had you been capable of making a noise.
âReady to go?â He asked nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. Youâd nodded, blushing when you realised you had been staring.
It was a short bus ride into the town centre. Spent in relatively comfortable silence arms brushing against one another in the limited space on the crowded vehicle. The club was packed wall to wall when you got inside, no hope of getting to the front of the crowd, or so youâd thought. Jungkook grabbed your hand winked at you and began heading in the opposite direction of the stage. He led you up some back stairs and on to a balcony you hadnât ever noticed before.
âIâve played here before, almost no one knows this is here, but it will give us the perfect view.â He dropped your hand in favour of leaning over the railing. You couldnât help but feel cold at the loss. The performance was great, you found yourselves screaming lyrics back and forth at one another. Some people had cottoned on to your little hiding spot and soon it became as packed as the rest of the club. Whether he was trying to protect you from the others or he was pushed there you will never know, but Jungkook ended up caging you to the railing, head resting on your shoulder.
After the show youâd decided it was time to ask him how he felt. The club was still busy, but the two of you had been in a quiet corner on your own nursing drinks and chatting aimlessly.
âDo you believe in soulmates?â You asked, broaching the topic carefully. You watched closely for his reaction, but he gave nothing away. Instead he just shrugged.
âI did once.â It was too blunt, you knew you shouldâve stopped but you couldnât, now youâd decided to tell him it was like verbal diarrhoea.
âI didnât think I did, I mean Iâve never seen any âmatching birthmarksâ and every couple I know is perfectly happy⌠but then I met you and I keep thinking about it, and you, and how I feel about you.â You watched as his face goes from pensive to a deer caught in the headlights.
âI⌠I have to leave now.â He got up and ran into the crowd before you even had a chance to reach for him. He dipped through a back entrance of the club and into the night before you could even push through the first layer of people.
The ride home had seemed a lot longer. Holding back tears had proved extremely difficult. Of all the reactions he couldâve given you that mightâve been the worst one. Somehow you found yourself thinking even him laughing in your face mightâve been better. You left the lights in your studio switched off that night. Made a beeline for your bed and passed out face down.
It wouldâve felt like a bad dream when you woke up⌠if it hadnât been for the crusty mascara tracking down your cheeks. Youâd picked up your phone from where it lay abandoned next to you. Battery on 12%. Youâd decided then itâd be best to run damage control, at least save the friendship.
Y/N: Iâm sorry about last nightâŚ
You hadnât expected his reply to be quick, so itâd surprised you when the typing bubbles appeared immediately; and furthered your sadness when they disappeared moments later without a message.
For days you spiralled. Going over the moment again and again in your head. Each replay turning the memory into something worse than the original.
Eventually you plucked yourself out of bed, deciding to face the problem head on and talk to the friend that invited you both to their birthday in the first place.
She met you at a cafĂŠ downtown during her lunch break. It was obvious by your red rimed eyes and sniffling nose that you had been crying but she was nice enough to ignore it for the most part. You caught up on her life for a little while until you physically couldnât hold back anymore.
You told her exactly what had happened between you and JK, watching as her expression got both more understanding and pitying as you got closer to the end. Whatever you thought she was going to tell you was no where close to the story you got. You sat mouth wide open as she told you about the accident, and the way it affected Jungkook. It made you want to cry all over again. You didnât know what to say once she had finished, stewing in your own thoughts for a while. The main thought that kept coming to the front of your mind was one that made you feel so evil. But you had to get it out
âWhat if she wasnât really his soulmate. What if he was never meant for herâ Its barely above a whisper but your friend heard it.
âHe truly believes that she wasâ She replied squinting at you. Her break ended shortly after that leaving you alone with your thoughts.
âŚ
Itâs almost a month later when you see Jungkook again. Hadnât heard a single thing from him since the concert but at least you knew why.
This time it was someone pool party. You honestly hadnât been expecting to see him there. Didnât even know you had mutual friends past that one girl. You didnât think twice about your birthmark when you stripped down to your two piece. Why would you? Everyone has one. You were lay out on a sun-lounger with a drink when you spotted him. Tucked away in a corner once again, the only difference this time was his attention was already on you. He looked as good as ever, hair damp and slicked back, Long-sleeved neoprene shit covering his torso but trunks showing off his amazing thighs. Youâd forced yourself to look away form him but could still feel the intensity of his gaze on you.
Eventually you couldnât take it anymore, too hot under the sun and his stare you decided to change out of your swimsuit into a sundress for the evening. Heading inside you found your way into someoneâs bedroom to get changed. Perhaps you shouldâve checked to see if the door the locked though, because just as you had wiggled out of the bikini top Jungkook burst into the room.
âAh shit⌠Sorry⌠I um.â His hand had flown in front of his eyes as heâd slammed the door shut behind him and youâd immediately reached for the flimsy dress pulling it over you torso so he could reopen his eyes.
âWhat in the actual fuck Jungkook?â you whisper screamed not wanting to draw attention to the two of you hidden away.
âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to, I didnât think⌠I just needed to seeâŚâ
âSee what?! My boobs? I think you managed that one perv. You havenât spoken to me in weeks and now all of a sudden you canât wait long enough to knock.â You came across a lot meaner than you had meant, you just hadnât been prepared for him to want to speak to you again.
âNo Iâm sorry Iâll go, this was a bad idea, I was probably seeing things anyway.â He mumbled looking sheepishly at the floor/
âNo wait itâs okay, I really want to apologise donât leave.â You took a deep breath and waited for his eyes to meet yours properly. When they did you could see the shock behind them.
âWhy do you need to apologise? Iâm the one that ran off, I never even told you why and I fucked up and Iâm sorry I justâŚâ You reached for him then, wanting nothing more than to comfort him and then realised it wasnât your place, arm dropping heavily back to your side. âI felt so guilty with you, not because of you, because of me.â You nodded in understanding.
âI found about your soulmate after I confessed to you. Iâm so sorry I didnât know. I never wouldâve brought it up if I had known you had already found yours.â Youâd broken eye contact with him then unable to watch the sadness in his eyes and not be able to do anything about it.
âThatâs why I felt so guilty though because the way I feel about you is so similar to the way I felt about her, how I still feel about her deep down. I was so confused because youâre only supposed to get one soulmate, and if I could feel the same way about you in such a short time⌠it just feels like Iâm betraying her by loving you.â He stepped forward reaching for your chin and forced you to meet his gaze. âThe today when I saw your birthmark on your thigh I couldâve cried.â He uses his free hand to unzip the shirt heâd been wearing. He pulled his left arm from the sleeve exposing his birthmark to you. A puzzle piece to fit perfectly into your own.
Youâd gasped at the revelation you were right. He was meant to be yours. And yet it didnât feel right. The anguish on his face was clear, the internal fight he had obviously been having with himself ever since the concert.
âLetting yourself love me now doesnât mean you loved her any lessâ you whispered, allowing yourself to move even closer to him, wrapping him in your arms. Heâd nuzzled into your neck allowing tears to stream down his cheeks and onto your shoulder. Youâd felt every bit of stress leave his body as he cried. Emotions he hadnât even know he had been holding onto, finally letting himself really breath since he had lost her all those years ago.
Youâd lost track of the time, just stood with him, holding him until the final few sniffles came. His cheeks had been puffy by and red when he pulled away, wiping his face on the sleeve still on his right arm.
âDo you want to leave? We can go back to mineâ Youâd asked carefully, not willing to let him go home alone after feeling like that. Heâd nodded weakly, sliding his arm back into the shirt before taking your hand in his. Youâd headed for the door only to be brought back by the hand he had on yours. Heâd pulled you so close you could see the flecks of gold in his irises, watched your reaction before leaning in and kissing you. It was salty with left over tears, but you wouldnât change you first kiss for the world. Everything felt like it clicked into place in that moment, the world tilted on its axis. The exchange was short lived, a chaste peck followed by a few smaller pecks before he let you lead him all the way home.

Midoriya
THIS GIF ISNT APART OF THE HC AT ALL I JUST FOUND IT AND NOW IM FEELING SOME TYPE OF WAYYYYđłđł
Midoriya most definitely drink his respect women juice
He was raised by his mother after all
BUT
doesnt mean the boy cant be a little perverted-
He just loves your body!!!!!
How can he NOT love everything about it, from the way your school tights slightly squeeze your thighs to the point where he feel like he cant breath
Or when you wear his shirts and its tighter around the chest and flowy around you waist
Mmmmmm lets not forget your hero suit- this man would probably kiss the shoes of the person who made your suit
Cause DAMN they really made it as tight as possible and he just loves it sm
Lets be real this dude has probably popped a boner by accident just thinking about your hero suit đś
ANYWAYS đđđđ
He is very much respectful about you and keeps his raging hormones horniness to himself
He is ALWAYS making sure you feel comfortable in your relationship, whether its from holding hands to cuddling, he will always make sure you give your consent
Now, when it comes to your kindness, this is something Midoriya probably loves the most about you
But he does find it really concerning when he notices you say âyesâ to everything somebody asks you to do for them
And running yourself down, not looking as energetic as yourself
He is very observant, so he notices little things that signal you are little overwhelmedÂ
Like your clothes arent as perfectly ironed as they used to be, you seem to be forgetting your own things while remembering to bring everybody elseâs, your smile seems strained, and you just look stressed
He is so incredibly empathetic- it pains him to his s/o look so distraughtÂ
It does anger him a bit that these people can so easily take advantage of you, and not even care that you arent feeling your best because of what they asked of you
But he swallows down the anger, offering to help you with whatever you need at your dorm room
He tries to make it as stress free as he possibly can, bringing your favorite snacks and playlist of music to calm your mind
But at some point hed give you a very gentle talk,,,,
He knows you havent been feeling too great, whether you deny it or not, and he wants you to know that its perfectly okay to not say âyesâ to every person
He knows you mean well and you want to help everyone out of the generosity of your heart, and he loves that about you
But you as a person are important, and you come first over anyone
â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž:* â§ď˝Ľďž: *â§ď˝Ľďž
Bakugo
Like Midoriya, just LOVES your body
Like cmon, how can he NOT
Dude is a ass+boob man change ma mindÂ
At first he deifnitely denies it-
Him??? Stare at your ass??? Pshh he was looking at the oven baka, if anything your ass was blocking his view-
You would know you caught him red handed cause he face would get redder than Momoâs hero suit and he would actually stutterâ-
Which would make him extrmeely annoyed and heâd be cussing a storm+be in a grumpy mood for an hour or two
But once you two get more comfortable in your relationship-
NO HOLDING BACK
He will have use every opportunity to just be meannnn
And by mean
I mean turn slapping your ass into some sick game
Like if you dont yelp and cuss him out whats the point?
Once he slapped you so hard he legit left his big ass hand print on your butt cheek and you were about to slap his smug ass back....
But off a 50ft building đ
Also a big softie too
Like when you to cuddle he loves cuddling into your chest đĽşđĽş
To him itâs just so comfyyyyyyyyyy
Honestly, Bakugo canât understand at all how you can be so nice to people
It confuses him???? But he finds it really....nice???
Like half the stuff you do for people Bakugo wouldnât ever dream of doing
He knows heâd either give that person an intimidating, dirty look or just laugh at them, cause yeah right heâd waste his time with their stupid problems
Ouchhhhhhhh
But you are totally different than him-you had a lot more patience and sympathy than he had, always coming to everyoneâs rescue it seemed like
He finds it attractive and to him, it confuses the hell out of him how he does
But what bothers him is how much time you spend away from him
He wonât ever admit it, but he feels lonely when youâre not around
And whatâs even worse-is by the time you do hang out with him, your too tired to even properly pay attention to him after running around and doing everything for everyone else
Bakugo the Attention Whore
One day this dude would have enough, as heâs been getting the bad end of the stick for a good couple of weeksââ
He just barges into were ever your at, and doesnât give to shits what so everrrrr
Bakugo has one mission in mind: getting his s/o back
Wouldnât acknowledge anyone but you, grabbing your wrist and yanking you out of the room even if your protesting with him
âThe hell are you doing Bakugo, let go-â
âNo đ â
âPleaseeeeeee I was in the middle of working on something-â
âI said NO đ đ đ â
Angry Pomeranian Activated
Once stop dragging you until he locks you in his room, forcing you to hear him out
He HATES being emotional or open, but at that, he starts spilling his guts through gritted teeth and choppy sentences,,
Saying that you waste too much time in thise âextrasâ, that they donât deserve as much time as you give them, and that you have more âimportantâ things than do all their work for them
*cough cough him being the more important thing
But hoenstly, you feel a little bad for him,,,,,
So you compromise with him and promise youâll spend more time on him
Heâs pretty happy with that,
but now he takes it one step further to make sure you deifnitely have enough time to hang out with him
If heâs around when someone asks you for help, heâll cut them off and lie straight theough his teeth, saying you two have a âdateâ and squeezing you close to him with an iron grip
âWait-Bakugo-we didnt have a date planned-â
âTsch, now we do-â
Shoto Todoroki
I have said this timeeee and timeeee againnnn
But Shoto really is the definition of innocence
So really, it wouldnât ever dawn on him on how killer his s/oâs body is
Heâs just kinda like....yeah I know they have a butt and chest? Doesnât everyone?đś
This poor Boi someone help him
It only really sets it after a few months of being together that heâs actually really, really in love with your body
Like how did he never notice how good you look in leggings?
Or how soft and comfortable your chest is?
And why does he want you to squeeze him with your thighs? đł
Hormones are ragingggggg
And also veryyyyyyyy protective over you
Shoto is very observant and quiet in social situations, usually opting to check out his surroundings instead of trying to be sociable
So heâll catch from time to time classmates commenting on you and your figure, and it never sits very well with him
At first when these incidences happened he was very conflicted, not understanding this intense jealousy and need to protect you
But after a while of contemplating his feelings, he understood it was because he was protective of you
And ohohoohohoh
This man is PROTECTIVE
He does little things you would never reallly notice until you actually do
Like when he takes you home after hanging out or a date, he lingers a little longer outside your door to make sure youâre inside safely
Or when youâre walking together he will make sure your walking inside the street and away from the cars
Also has a tendency to grab your waist or your hand when a group of men come your way
He just gets paranoid okay đĽşđĽşđĽş
And because heâs so protective, he doesnât practically like that youâre being taken advantage of sometimes because of your kindness
Especially when it comes to other men
On a few occasions Shoto has spotted you in a sticky situation with a guy who was being a little too close for comfort
It would make you uncomfortable of course, you had a boyfriend you already loved a lot-
but you felt kind of bad just being a total bitch to this guy who desperately wanted a chance
So youâd just awkwardly laugh and smile with their stupid pick up lines, trying your best to be polite but also show you werenât interested
But Shoto at this point has radar for when your in trouble, and just pops out of nowhere đ
Heâs not the type to flaunt his relationship by impulsively kissing you or anything like that, but heâll show it in subtle ways
Like calling you âdearâ or wrapping his arm around your waist
Honestly, the look of pure relief and comfort in your face shows more than Shoto could have ever done,,,
And that Shoto was deifnitely someone that was more than just a âguy fiendâ and soemthing like that
Also Shoto would give them a look that could kill and that instantly scares the shit out anyone lmao
These dudes faces would deflate like balloons real quick, cause at this point everyone knows who Shoto Todoroki is
And how the hell can they compete with that
Instant âoh shit my badâ type energy
After those incidents, Shoto locks down way harder
He practically has you glued to his side, and he doesnât let go
Like at all
Get used to it cause for the rest of the day Shoto is gonna be following you around like some body guard đ

So...
Am I correct to assume that Nestaâs birthday is going to be a bash after ACOSF? Because it should be lol.Â
Though Headcanon #978: Birthday Edition
~
Cassian wants to throw her a party because itâs his MATEâs birthday. Their first birthday together. Like hell heâs not going to make a big deal about it. He has the week planned. Itâs Nestaâs birthday week.Â
He has breakfast in bed, a bath run with rose petals, he spent two weeks getting her a gift (not sure what it is yet). He got a giant ass red ribbon because he plans on wrapping himself in it when the night is over.... (wink wink wink lol) I imagine that he actually does try to have every day focused on Nesta, like one gift everyday or something leading up to it. I also imagine things going intensely awry, like heâs called to Illyria. Thereâs trouble in this place. Yadda Yadda, so all his plans are moot and heâs more upset about it than Nesta is because Nesta didnât even know. But heâs at least there for the day before and the day of Nestaâs birthday. Nothing is going to stop him for those two days. Heâs like die another day, nothing is going to keep him from celebrating the birth of the love of his life.Â
I still imagine that Nesta likes attention. I feel she would hate her birthday on principle. But sheâs very excited this year to be celebrated, because she has best friends and a mate and a magical house and itâs an entire new year when the last few sucked. So, sheâs like yesss, celebrate me, love me, feed me cake. Â
But Nesta is also very adamant that she does not want to make a big deal about it. She wants him to make a big deal about it. But she does not want a huge party (i.e. She does not want a family celebration-group get together-----Still sure they are not friends, her and the IC, Idfc it doesnât make sense) But Cassian is like âYou deserve a big party. After all youâve doneâ but thatâs precisely why she doesnât want it. Because they donât love her, they love what she did for them. So Nesta concedes and tells him fine they can have a party, but she only wants Emerie and Gwyn to be there. Because Gwyn and Emerie have already made plans with her about this day.Â
Theyâre going to have another sleep over. Theyâre going to fill the room with balloons. Itâs going to be a giant ball pit filled with sacks of helium. Thereâs going to be a cake that towers to the ceiling. Theyâre going all out. Â
Cassian is like what about Azriel? And Nesta goes fine, if Azriel is here and he wants to come for a bit then he can. Cassian concedes to this.Â
BUT then they have a family dinner, because those occur weekly, and Feyre brings up her birthday and sheâs like uhhh... I already got plans. She tries to use Cassian as an excuse, and he lets her because he knows why, but theyâre like nah Cassian you donât mind do you? And Cassian just looks at Nesta like what do you want me to say? But Nesta doesnât know how to tell them that she doesnât really want them to come. Especially to her sister who sheâs trying to turn a new leaf towards. The problem though is, itâs not going to be just Feyre and Elain who come, because she doesnât mind only them. But Feyre comes with the rest of the group and then it becomes huge and she really doesnât want that. And also her friends are not their friends. Sheâs lived separate lives, and she doesnât really want them to mix.Â
But she canât necessarily lie. But she canât tell the truth. So sheâs like trying to keep everything separate. So, sheâs like well why donât we have a small outing in the morning or something with just the sisters, but then fucking Rhys is like WE ALL want to celebrate your birthday. He plans on getting her several gifts. He already knows what they are, and Nesta looks at him disturbed because she really does not want to know what they are. But then Azriel is chiming in because he already knows whatâs happening and heâs a butt sometimes and he knows Nesta is trying to avoid them, so heâs like yeah Nesta, we ALL want to celebrate. She gives him a mocking look, he smirks. Nesta realizes heâs a lot more annoying than she thought he was... she wanted to have a threesome with this guy. Big mistake ever thinking that. But then Amren chimes in also, and then Mor not really wanting to be left out is like.... I got you a gift already. Nesta is very surprised about that and also horrified. Is Mor lying? Only the fic will tell.Â
So... this happens in two ways one that is fluffier than the other. Okay?Â
Option 1: Angst version/Drama version
They show up uninvited after Cassian expressly says that she wants a small birthday party and that theyâll have their own personal one the day of, and then the next day they can have a party with the IC. Two days of parties, which Nesta is fine with.Â
But they ignore those wishes and end up showing up on the day of and Cassian is upset about that, because this is Nestaâs day. He wants her to be comfortable and happy and no arguments at all or weird feelings. Nothing. Nesta has been through a hard year, this day is just for her. But them showing up uninvited makes it about them.Â
They bring many gifts that Nesta doesnât want to open really, because Emerie and Gwyn are there, and she doesnât want them to see how impersonal the gifts are. Because theyâre impersonal. They donât know Nesta, and they grasping at straws. Nesta knows this. She just wanted one day of not pretending that theyâre utterly fantastic. But itâs because Nesta is self-conscious, prideful, and she has tendency towards embarrassment in the book I noticed, where she doesnât want to be judged or looked at in a way she doesnât want. And she abhors the idea of Emerie and Gwyn seeing her act differently around her family or seeing her family around her and then deciding that sheâs as rotten as she feels. Old insecurities die hard you know. BUT mostly, itâs also because Gwyn and Emerie donât know them, and Nesta doesnât want them to be uncomfortable either. She didnât expect them to come, or she would have asked them if it was okay. I have this hardcore headcanon that Nesta is chill with almost everything as long as you ask her, but I imagine her as a boundaries type of person, that sheâs okay as long as you respect her boundaries no matter how odd they may seem to people more open than her.Â
She spends the night more subdued than Cassian would have liked, kind of smiling shyly but also maybe more apprehensive. Which makes him angrier that they showed up. (I love grumpy Cassian I donât know why).Â
But you know sheâs polite. Itâs just a tad awkward, and the IC start getting pretty defensive, because Cassian gets mad when theyâre about to leave. I imagine they start dismissing his feelings, like Nesta seems fine with it. Why do you have a problem? I want the old IC to come back and all of those problems from previous books, because damn do they dismiss Cassian many many times. Bring that shit back, I was entertained.
The sisters exchange parting words, and its civil and nice, but they do note that Gwyn and Emerie are going to stay and Nesta seems excited about it, and when Nesta talks to them, sheâs a happier person, and they kind of resent that. More Elain I feel than Feyre. Feyreâs just more sad about it but she understands because she also has friends who she considers closer than her sisters. Sheâs just content that Nesta has people now who Nesta feels open and happy with. Elain is like straight up annoyed. (Personally if Elain is going to be pitted against Gwyn (I sure hope to god not) I would rather it not be about a man and more about Nesta and her relationships). But Nesta again is like turning a new leaf, so sheâs like are we still going out tomorrow for breakfast or whatever? And Feyreâs like yeah! I donât know I feel she gets more that Nesta is trying than Elain. Elain doesnât have an arc, so I imagine this would a be a start of an arc, these conflicts.Â
But yeah, you know that scene in ACOFAS, where it was Nesta looking through the window and seeing all of these happy people who are so together, who left her out even when she was just starting to push them away. I want that again in the opposite direction. Where itâs the IC/sisters who look at Nesta and her group of friends, and Cassian, and Azriel who you know stays because he lives there, and thinks that they are not a part of that happy group and they resent that, because whatever did they do????Â
Anyhoo.Â
Option 2: Fluffier version (For Nesta anyways)
Is that Nesta concedes to them coming to her party. Gwyn and Emerie are told that they are coming, but again they are not staying for the night, but Gwyn and Emerie will stayover. So the cots are set up and theyâre in the family library. They have a bunch of board games set up, romance novels everywhere.
Theyâre blowing up balloons when the IC/Sisters come and they have helium, because you know who gives af about rules of this world when SJM doesnât so, thereâs helium. And Nesta is a little tipsy. The House has given her wine, but is monitoring the intake, and Nesta is doing pretty good about it, because addiction wasnât that big of a deal in this book, so we just gonna trek on. Nesta is a giggly drunk. Who knew? Sheâs also a flirty drunk so she has clung to Cassian many times. Sheâs giggly and touchy touchy. Cassian is having the time of his life seeing her this way. Itâs cute and he kisses her nose and she wraps her arms around his middle and just hugs him constantly. Like a Koala. You know.Â
But when the IC/sisters get there, Nesta actually answers the door, and again sheâs pretty loose. So sheâs smiling and very happy to have her friends, so sheâs like okay, come on in. They go to the library and Emerie and Gwyn are inhaling the helium and Nesta laughs at the voices, but they quickly get up when they see their High Lord and Lady, and they try to like say hello, but their voices are still changed, so Nesta laughs again.Â
And the IC/Sisters note the giant ass cake in the middle of the room. All of the balloons. The streamers. The signs that look so messy. And theyâre like this is... not what they were expecting. Because itâs not formal at all. Very casual even and they did not expect that from Nesta.Â
Emerie and Gwyn give her their gifts early. Not sure what they are, but Nesta absolutely loves them and she shows them off and is just like super proud to have these friends and sheâs like bragging about them freely. And Emerie and Gwyn are just kind of like holding her and hugging her and being all fond too about her, because affectionate drunk Nesta, but also because her friend group dynamic is affectionate and loving.Â
I feel Cassian does actually gift her a weapon, mostly because I want to see it. I feel like Nesta would appreciate that. I know she has her own technically, that are magical. But a women needs more than three weapons ya feel? So the one he gifts her has opal on it, on the hilt and encrusted through the blade. Because it looks like the sky perfectly and itâs gorgeous. Freedom, Flight, and Fight you know. And itâs like the shiniest steel sword with markings engraved, and itâs very thin and light because Cassian made sure that it was suited for Nesta. That it would be comfortable for her height and weight. Itâs crafted in the Day Court, because well he gets all his gifts there now. Helion indulges him in hopes that it will somehow make him look more appealing to Nesta Lol.Â
Mor actually does give her a gift, because if this is the fluffy version than Mor and Nesta have had a moment before this dealing with Keir in which Nesta is a bit of a confidant and someone who sides with Mor which validates Morâs feelings because Keir visits, which maybe I will make a post about later. But theyâre... frenemies. Not enemies anyways. They understand each other a bit more. SO she gifts Nesta a music box, the one with a little ballerina that dances. It was actually hers when she was young. She explains that she tried to find a new one but all of them just didnât seem like her and the one she had had more sentimental value that she felt Nesta should have. This makes entirely more sense if you know the context. But Nesta just stares in awe at this present. Itâs gold and images are carved out on the lid and sides and the music I imagine sounds like Once upon a December from Anastasia. Itâs very magical. And Nesta is extremely surprised. Everyone is because Morâs presents suck. But this present doesnât suck at all. Nestaâs touched, but Mor kind of brushes it away, sheâs kind of embarrassed about the reaction.Â
But eventually everyone leaves and it still ends on a somber note, because her sisters and even the rest of the IC, really do notice that they are not completely a part of Nestaâs life. They come and they go. She doesnât ask them to stay, which may be overreaching since they havenât done anything to warrant the closeness, but they do start realizing that they may have caused some things that are not fixable because Nesta is civil but sheâs not close with them. And they almost want to be close to her, because of how warm and comfortable the home she created is. They donât understand how that could have happened without them. But it does end up being something that everyone doesnât know whether they should resent, or decide that they just need to try harder to be a part of Nestaâs life, not so much Nesta fitting in with theirs. I like to think that they donât know the extent of the ramifications that they caused by being bitchy to Nesta when she was not in a good place. You canât necessarily ask to be loved when you are not so lovable, since thatâs essentially what they put on Nesta.Â
Oh how the turn tables.Â

Make A Wish | LJB
Lim Jaebeom x Female!Reader
Genre: Fluff / Established Relationship / Sickly Sweet Soft Romance
â When a late night at work ruined your plans to surprise him, Jaebeom proves that love is all that matters
Word Count:Â 1.1k
A/N: Written for many reasons. 1. To complete a jaebeom + balcony + soft request. 2. To create something for the #7for7Project. and 3. Because itâs Jaeâs birthday and I love him. â Also, itâs a bit clumsy because Iâm rusty, but I had an idea so I ran with it. â gif by the radiant @defgyusâ
It didnât happen often, but the nights you were kept late at work were always the worst nights for it to happen. Iâm so sorry, you had texted. Donât be silly, he replied; completely genuine - he could hold no grievance. But as you drove home through empty, almost sleeping streets, you grimaced knowing every plan you had secretly made would not come to fruition.Â
Tired fingers gripped the steering wheel as a yawn punctuated the silence in your car. The blaring glow of a red light made your eyes drift to the passenger seat where a strawberry sponge cake sat sad and deflated, the words written in icing were smeared across the top from hours of waiting. Disappointment filled you and then emptied out with a laboured sigh. Just get home, you reminded yourself. Everything will be better once youâre home.Â
From the driveway, you stared into your dimly lit house. The small bags you had prepared for your surprise hung limply in your hand; carrying little gifts, none of any great material worth, but filled with meaning from moments and memories shared. The types of gifts only you and him would understand. The best types of gifts. And still you stood at the front door dejected. So with a strengthening breath, you crossed the threshold into the home you shared.
It took a few quiet footsteps for you to call for him.
âBaby?âÂ
Silence was your response.Â
And another few more footsteps up the stairs to call out again. Though for some reason, it came out in a whisper.Â
âJae? Sweetie?âÂ
The hollowness of your voice melted into the melody you started to hear as you approached the bedroom. Peaking passed the open door, you spotted Jaebeomâs outline; seated quietly on the balcony, cradling one of the cats on his lap. Lit softly by the lamp in the corner, you could hear him humming, some tune you knew he just came up with in that moment. Airy and light, yet filled with a depth he carried within him; you felt your heart yearning to go to him, to listen to his song within the warmth of his embrace. And yet you quietly turned away.Â
The small and gentle smile that etched into his cheeks as you approached him with a slice of cake, adorned with a single candle was enough to ease all the tension you harboured inside you. He didnât like it when people sang that happy birthday song but he would listen to you sing it on repeat because he would never and could never deny you.Â
Jaebeom laughed as he shook his head when you knelt before him, holding out the little plate for him to blow out the candle. Instead, tender hands pulled you up onto his lap; your cat quickly scurrying off amongst the fuss.Â
âHello you.â He greeted as his arms circled your waist.Â
âHello you.â You said softly as his lips placed a gentle kiss on your cheek.
A few moments passed cheek to cheek by the glow of that single candle before Jaebeom playfully knocked his forehead against yours.Â
âItâs not my birthday.â Brows furrowed as he paused for your response.Â
You simply smiled, mischievous in kind, and waited. Soon Jaebeomâs phone that lay on the small table beside him began to ping. Midnight had struck. Message after message, notification after notification and a missed call or two from either Jinyoung or Youngjae illuminated the screen.Â
You raised a playful brow. âIt is now.âÂ
Nimble fingers poked and tickled the soft flesh around your waist that you almost dropped the plate and you chided Jaebeom for the near disaster. He merely giggled and stole a kiss to bring a smile back to your face.Â
You settled again onto his lap, nuzzling into him as he held you close.Â
âThis isnât what I had planned.â Admitting meekly, as you watched a bead of wax trail down the candle. Jaebeom placed his chin on your shoulder.Â
âOh? What did you have planned?âÂ
âDinner, cake, balloons, presents on the bed...âÂ
âWere you going to be one of them?â He jeered. A sharp jab of your elbow into his chest wiped the smirk off his face.Â
âItâs not funny.â Sulking on his lap, he simply pulled you closer, letting his lips ghost the side of your neck.Â
âThis..â Gesturing to the plate in your hand. âAnd this..â Embracing you tightly. âAnd this..â Lifting his finger to your chin to turn you to face him. â..Is more than enough.âÂ
Jaebeom kissed you slowly, tenderly; enough to quiet the world.
Jaebeom somehow, in his simple ways, always made you forget any troubles you had. He eased your anxieties, revelled in your triumphs and made you love the parts of you you always thought you couldnât. In his quiet ways, he made you feel like you were the centre of his universe. And over time you realised, he had become yours.Â
Smiling to break the kiss, you lifted the plate to his face.Â
âHere, make a wish.â Jaebeom giggled, amused with your insistence. Feigning thought, Jaebeom pursed his lips and hummed, then quickly blew out the candle.Â
âHappy birthday, baby.â Sealing the greeting with a cheeky peck on the tip of his nose.Â
âWhat did you wish for?â You asked as you swiped a finger of cream off the cake, holding it out for him.Â
âNothing.â He snapped his lips onto your finger, sucking the cream clean off in an attempt to stifle your bubbling outrage.Â
âWhat! Why?!â You shot at him. He snorted, clearly he had failed.Â
Taking the plate from your hand, Jaebeom pushed the hair off your shoulder before placing a gentle hand on your cheek.Â
âI donât need anything when I already have you.âÂ
He smiled, sweetly, enough to make every part of you glow with warmth.Â
But as you leant forward to kiss him, the sweet smile on Jaebeomâs face started to shift; devilish in its undertone. And before you knew it, the plate he held in his hand was flat against your cheek; cake smashed into your face.Â
Jaebeom swiftly slid you off his lap as you came to grips with shock and quickly raced off into the house; narrowly avoiding your thrashing, clawing hands.Â
âLim Jaebeom! You get back here you piece of sh--â
â..Remember I love you, and treasure you and youâre my dream come true⌠Donât kill me!âÂ
You chased him down, throwing pillows at his back; swearing and laughing in tandem before finally jumping onto him, pinning him to the floor. Punishment was endless kisses, endless cake-stained kisses; covering his face and neck and chest with frosting and strawberry cream. Jaebeom willingly bore the consequences of his actions, and benevolent as you are, allowed him to atone for his wrong doings by paying in kisses. A fair price you thought.Â
With Jaebeom, as with life, things rarely go to plan. But it turns out, you just need someone, the right someone, to show you that it doesnât always need to.Â

your roommate hcs are so cute, can i request for naib, demi, tracy, andrew, kurt, patricia, and victor?
:0 holy crap yes! Iâm so glad you enjoyed the roommate hcs!! Me and the other mods hope you enjoy these! Thank you for requesting :))
(i added melly because why not? lmao hope you donât mind.)
Part 1!
Naib Subedar
This man deadass didnât know you were living with him
Even when people told him about it, he wasnât rlly paying attention and didnât rlly care
Your stuff in his room? He thought it was his or someone just broke into his room and left it there
When he saw you on the toilet however, he just freaked out.
âWhy the hell are you shitting in my room!?â âYour room? Iâve been living here for 2 months!â
Once he found out you lived with him, he made sure you knew what was his and what was yours
also, since heâs very protective of his things-- you being one of them-- he would totally get jealous if he caught you tallking to someone that wasnât him.
he would probably give you the silent treatment and act like a pissy baby
He hates it when you touch his stuff
especially his photos, the photos were special to him because they were of him and his army friends.
Youâd sometimes catch him looking at the photos with a longing in his eyes, it was highkey sad.
having you live with him meant lots and lots of training
he made sure you were always prepared for matches and that you donât get downed early
when you got downed early however, He would scold you but he would still rescue you anyways because heâs soft
âYouâre such an idiot, youâd better do better next time! Or else Iâll kick your ass.âÂ
one time he got cocky while kiting because you were watching him
he forgot to turn on his elbow pads and face palmed into the wall.
â...You saw nothing.â He turned around, a bit woozy from hitting his head on a wall. He flipped the hunter off before stumbling wooshing away
When you first get to know naib, heâd probably come off as intimidating and menacing
but once you get to know him--the real him--, you start to understand that even though he may be tough on you, its because he wants you to be the best
he has good intentions
During matches heâd let you handle yourself and made sure you didnât rely on him too much
One time you needed to shower but you ran out of your shampoo so you used his.
When he questioned you, you simply responded âWhat? You donât need it anyways, youâre bald!â
He didnât rescue you the next round.
shouldâve seen that coming
though he forgives you when you braid his luscious long existent hair for him
Kurt Frank
The amount of times you almost stepped on this man is astronomical.
he would constantly be in his tiny form because he would lose a lot of his things
his tiny form helped him find his things easily
Though when you first moved in with him, you had no idea what his ability was
so when you first saw a tiny version of your roommate you thought he was just a weird doll
until you heard him say a tiny, âHey can you move your ginORMOUS foot? Youâre stepping on my book.â
You fucking screeched and took off your shoe to try and kill him
âAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHââAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHâ
After he explained to you about his ability you calmed down a bit and spared this tiny man but only this time!
Frank loves books, he probably filled your shared rooms with stacks on stacks of books
Youâd often see him tiny, waving at you while youâre decoding
Once you overhead Kurt arguing with First Officer over who was the rightful owner of some sort of treasure map
They fought for days,
kurt would constantly complain about it to you
turns out it was just a game on the back of a Cereal box.
sorry this is short like kurt
Tracy Reznik
Would be a little awkward at first, but the awkwardness slowly fades away when you both make bad jokes
she gives me childhood best friend vibes
Has her doll sitting in the corner of your shared room room, itâs lifeless eyes scare the living shit out of you in the dark you try not to make eye contact, afraid itâll curse you or smth
if she was mad at you she would move the bot in a way that looked like it was flipping you off you off in your direction before you went to bed.
Always making little robot things that are super fun to play with
Loves sharing her things. Has no problem with it
you wanna wear her clothes? sure
you want to wear her underwear? evEN BETTER-
Pulling all nighters, trying to get her machines to work like how she wanted it to work.
Would live off of kraft Mac n cheese and junk food in the modern day
Pretty hyper, chugs pink monster energy drinks while pulling all nighters, also, in the modern day
would probably be a bruh girl
Her room is a mess, covered with blueprints and scrap metal
her room is practically a safety hazard
Sometimes she dresses her doll up a bit, putting wigs or her old clothes on it (which scares you half to death)
Once she made her doll dress up like her
and you almost went up to it to ask what it wanted for dinner.
Has a photo of her and her dad
You never wanted to bring it up, worried it might make her upset :(
Sometimes sheâd feel really guilty about being downed in the first 30 seconds
please comfort her, she feels super bad
She always relies on you to rescue her
She gets really happy and thankful when you body block for her but she still gets a bit concerned when you do it randomly
âi wasnât even kiting-â âProtecc the mecc.â
Demi Bourbon
Always out at the bar
Smells like alcohol constantly
tipsy 24/7
sheâs never 100% sober
You have to hold her hair out of her face when she comes back to your shared room to hurl
Likes bringing back hard vodka or weird flavoured alcohols back for you guys to get wasted try together
Room is bit cluttered, but she doesnât have much in her room since sheâs always out in bars or matches
Usually latches onto you like a parasite when sheâs drunk.
it gets a bit awkward when her face is a bit close to yours,
âAre we about to kiss right now-? BLeurghgrhgherrgh.ââ...*audible sigh*â
Youâd go to her expecting her to heal you like a normal person but no
instead she shoves dovlin down your throat
She likes to do your makeup, and always adds a matching beauty mark
unless you donât wear makeup, then sheâd ask you to do hersÂ
always loves how she looks afterwards
more than sometimes demi would get into bar fights,Â
so you know sheâs about to throw hands when she starts takes off her earrings-
10/10 would fight for you <3
Sheâs gives me cool wine aunt vibes
Probably a lesbian too (check out our Demi smut fic ;))
Or bi, idk
Just straightnât
Sheâs really good at hyping you up, especially when youâre taking shots
âCHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG-â
Andrew Kreiss
Would be very shy at first, opens up a little when you get to know him
Totally a night owl, canât sleep at night from all the guilt and âwhat ifââs
if you see this baby awake at night, hug him, he really needs it
Youâve never seen the other side of his face
How does he see with hair in his eyes?
Heâs albino, which is super dope
Sometime you fear heâs thinking about burying you
You always see him thwacking Luca with his shovel
Barely talks
Room is moderate
He doesnât want you to find out too much about him
He may seem bland, but he loves sweet food
Youâd bake him cookies and other sweets
Heâd act as if heâs not embarrassed and brush it off
âAre you blushing?ââNo, I-Iâm sunburnt.â âOn your face?â â....I stare into the hot red sun sometimes because it eases me.â
to keep his lie going, every time he catches you staring at him he would fry his eye balls by staring into the sun until you left
partially the reason why he canât see well
When heâs not looking, you stare at him while heâs eating the stuff you made because he looks so happy :â)
One time you found him down in the dumps so you made him a cup of coffee, and when you handed it to him you said-
âDepresso espresso?â
*sniff* â..are you oka-â âIM NOT CRYING, YOU AREâ
he actually cried
it was such a nice gesture(?), that he started ugly crying
Youâd ask him if he wanted hugs during matches when you see him get stressed
Heâd be flushed and kinda confused
hug... him? why tho lmao
heâd definitely agree tho, to be fair, with some hesitationÂ
if yâall ever cuddled in bed, i feel like heâd be a little spoon
poor boy needs the comfort, he wouldnât mind if you wanted to be little spoon tho
he just wants to be close to you
Victor Grantz
You love playing with his dog, Wick
Super nice and polite, but a little guarded
The type to be too afraid to call people out when they do something wrong but would totally trash them in his head
You write him little letters everyday and leave them on his bed to make him happy :))
Heâd a be a little spoon
Wick would always join you guys while cuddling
Kisses would be soft and gentle
Usually sends you the first letter in matches
Loves to cuddle
He bb đĽ°
You always get him a birthday present AND a Christmas present
You also get a gift for Wick
He loves giving you surprise hugs
Likes to read with you while cuddling
Literally a cinnamon roll
Once he was eating a cinnamon roll
And you whispered
âC a n n i b a l i s m .â
He was very confused
and kind of scared- were you going to eat him?
Patricia Dorval
Room always smells like herbs
She could literally smoke weed and youâd think itâs some magical healing herb
it magically makes you feel better
Always there to stun the hunter when youâre ballooned
The mature one
Her room is organized, with boxes labeling what herbs and magic stuff that are in them
You were cooking dinner for the day and you accidentally used one of her fancy herbs in your soup
She didnât realize until she tried the soup
She wasnât mad just disappointed
She lectured you on how you shouldnât touch her stuff or use it for cooking
Gotta admit tho, the soup was pretty good
she acts like the mom everyone wishes they had
totally the type to be like, âdude we should think this through.â before doing something risky
and then five seconds later, âcowABUNGA MY DUDESâ
one time she caught kreacher leaving the mens washroom without washing his hands
seeing as she was the mother of this manor, she had to protect her children from diseases
so she yeeted her monkey skull at kreachers head, cleanly knocking him out
and everybody cheered.
Melly Plinius
When you heard melly was going to be your roomie, you couldnât have been more excited.
you finally had a victim for the many insect pick up lines!
So you decided to make some good first impressions by waiting for her in your room.
so when she arrived to your room and greeted you, you happily greeted her back, and slipped in the pick up line.
âHello, my name is Melly. I believe I will be your ro-?ââYeah nice to meet you too, say, what do bees make?â
She kinda thought you were a bit rude so much for first impressions
â...Erm, honey?â she replied hesitantly
âYES DEAR?âÂ
... okay maybe you werenât thaaaat bad.
after that she kind of developed a teensy crush on youÂ
so it was hard living with you because of her crush, since she was constantly flusteredÂ
you loved her reactions, she constantly got red.
it was funny watching her try to keep her cool and fail.

The weeks of recovery were long but you knew you were in the best hands. Bucky put work on the back foot to look after you despite your protests.
You had been having a hard time sleeping though, ever since waking up and finding Bucky in the hall. Dreams of the past and a future that sometimes scares you.
It got so bad that you went to med bay to talk to the Doc about it, to see if he could give you anything. He was reluctant and I was too. He suggested talking about it, professionally. But no matter who you chose, you didnât think they would quite understand the type of life you lead. You could never be totally honest with them and that would defeat the point.
You didnât acknowledge how bad or strange it all was until you woke up with a start. The room was bright, the one you shared with Bucky. He was nowhere to be seen but a note was left on his pillow
âCome to the reception room when youâre awakeâ.
Which is odd, we only usually use that room for certain Clientâs. Either way, you were distracted. You had a dream last night that felt more than a dream and it was starting to become troublesome.
The dream itself was nothing bad, in fact it was happy, lovely. Bucky had thrown you a surprise party, balloons and friends and family celebrating your recovery. It was lovely, one of the best dreams you had had for a long time, but it still left you with a sense that something was off.
You get dressed and make your way to the reception room lost in thought, thatâs why when you open the door and hear âSURPIRSE!â you almost scream the place down.
Hand on chest, you take in the sight of balloons, banners and food. Everyone you love a few others were smiling broadly at you, Steve, Sam, Peggy and the kids, Darren even made an appearance. But your eyes were on Bucky and his wolfish grin.
âDid you do this?â, you ask.
Bucky shrugs casually, âmaybeâ.
Bucky walks across the room to you, holding you close and leans you down in front of everyone to kiss you deeply. Love and passion sweeping across the both of you, the sound of howls, whoops and cheering the only thing keeping you from tearing into each other.
Bucky pulls back with a broad smile before lifting you back up and turning to the crowd, âeveryone, as you know weâve been through a lot over the last year. Weâve lost good people, and parts of ourselves while trying to keep the organisation going and keeping each other safe. But weâve also found new love, and welcomed another member into our family, Tommyâ, Bucky gestures to the sleeping baby in Peggyâs arms.
Everyone cheers at the shout out before Bucky continues, âI wanted to celebrate Y/Nâs recovery. I wanted to celebrate the people that made it possible for her to be here today. I also wanted to give everyone a reprieve. Things will only be more difficult for a while. We have Isaac and Harry to track down and we have other enemies to prove weâre still the strongest enterprise out there. They will be coming for us, but I wanted to take this moment to say weâll be ready. I also wanted to take this moment to thank you all, for standing by me through it all.â
Bucky looks down at you with something fierce in his eyes, a love and devotion that youâve never seen in another human being before, âto us!â, he shouts as he raises a glass to the room.
You wake up with a start, panting from feeling yourself trying to wake up. The dream was so vivid, it felt realâŚ
You look to the pillow next to you and you see the note from your dream, the exact placing, the exact wording from Bucky.
You donât even bother changing out of your pyjamas as you rush from the room. You make your way to the reception room as fast as possible, almost bashing into people trying to get to your one goal.
You mumble apologies until you make it to the doors of the reception room holding your breath. You hesitate with your hands on the knobs, you didnât want this to be true, but hiding from it wouldnât make it not true either.
You swallow despite your dry mouth and swing the doors open to âSURPRISE!ââŚ
All through the party you convince yourself that itâs a coincidence. You donât tell anyone, not even Bucky what youâre thinking but its all you can focus on until Peggy catches you on your own.
âIs everything okay?â, she asks, concern etched into her friendly face.
You nod, âyesâ, and distract her by fussing with Tommy for a while.
By the end of the day, as night creeps in you feel exhausted by going through all the possibilities in your head.
Bucky takes you away into a private corner with another grin on his face just like he did with the surprise and for a moment you forget your troubles as you smirk back, âwhat is it Buck?â, you ask.
He grins wider, âI have another surprise for you.â
You shake your head with a small smile, âI donât think I can handle any more surprises right now Bucky.â
He strokes your cheek for a few moments before saying, âI came close to losing you and having you here, happy and healthy is something I wanted to celebrate with everyone but I also wanted to celebrate with just usâŚso I booked us a night away in a hotel underwater.â
Your grin splits into a dazzling smile as you jump on Bucky murmuring your gratitude and love.
You arrived at the underwater hotel the next day. Checking in with Lisa at the counter as Bucky finishes checking in he asks her, âthe extras I asked forâŚ?â.
Lisa didnât look up from the computer in front of her as she answers, âthey should be in your room.â
We make our way to the room, our overnight bags in hand. Bucky steps into the room first looking around at everything.
But you barely pay any attention as you look out into the water and all the fish, your fingers are touching the glass when Bucky comes out of the bathroom, ânone of the extras are in hereâ, he says with annoyance lacing his tone.
He starts towards the door before turning back to you, âdid you detect the lie at all?â.
You shrug, âshe probably believed it, so go easy on her Buckâ.
You hear the door close behind you and you pray for a normal night of sleep or perhaps you could convince Bucky not to sleep at all. You stand there thinking about all the ways you and Bucky could ruin the room when you finally hear the door open.
You turn as you say, âhey Buck, I was thinking-â
Bucky is looking at you with shock and confusion on his face and that horrible feeling you had the night of the crash comes back in the pit of your stomach.
He doesnât say anything for the longest time as he stares at you. Finally, you couldnât stand anymore silence as you say, âwhat?! What is it Bucky? Whatâs happened?!â.
He clears his throat, âshe knew the stuff wasnât in the room.â
You pause before laughing at his statement, âJesus Buck, I thought something was seriously wrong, like danger level wrong. You need to stop giving me heart attacks.â
But Bucky never starts laughing and so the smile slowly fades from your face as you say, âokayâŚso what if the extras arenât in the room, we can ask for them or you can get a partial refund.â
He shakes his head as he finally steps in the room and closes the door behind him, âyouâre missing the point Doll, she lied.â
You scrunch your face up, âyeah Buck, people lie-â
You stop the sentence dead in its tracks as you look at Bucky in alarm, finally realising what heâs getting at.
You have no words. Bucky is the one to fill the silence, âIâve noticed it a few times over the last few days. The fact that you havenât clocked some lies and have become more shocked at some of the things that happen around our home. I thought it was just because so much was going on. Your recovery, us never getting moments alone these days, but you never picked up the lie today, you even said so yourself.â
You shake your head, âwait a minute, weâre jumping to conclusions here, this is a new place and I wasnât paying attention-â
Bucky interrupts you, âmy favourite flavour of ice cream is mint, Iâm wearing boxers under my pants, my mothers name was Sarah.â
He says all the lies he told you when you first met in quick succession and you never detect a single one as a lie even though you know they are.
Your stomach lurches and you feel your hands shake by your sides, you look up at Bucky as tears well in your eyes, âIâve lost it Buck, Iâve lost my ability to detect lies.â
You sink to your knees before Bucky can reach you. He joins you on the floor as he wraps you in his arms trying to protect you from the truth that has become a truth in a long line of truths in a never ending nightmare.
You try to will this not to be true as you question your worth not only as a member of Buckyâs organisation but also as his partner and your ability to keep him safe. And you know, everything has changed.

Satisfied, Part 12
First
Previous
Next
Iâm going to start answering comments at the bottom but before the taglist now so you guys can get straight into the chapter (unless itâs really important like taking a break or something)
Also Iâve decided to move all the Wayne kids closer together in age. Damianâs 18, Tim is 21, Jason is 23, Dick is 25
~~~
She didnât go to the coffee shop the next day. Partially because she wasnât getting her overpriced coffee paid for (at least not without a lot of whining), but mostly because she wanted to do some research where people couldnât see her.
She sighed as she flipped between all fifty of her tabs, resting her head on her hand. She could hear Tikki trying, and failing, to make her something to eat in the kitchen.
Who could the bat family be? They had to have a lot of influence and/or money to get as much information as they did. She flipped through the most wealthy people in Gotham and its surrounding area, but where was the cutoff? How was she to know that they werenât middle class people who saved for expensive things?
And then there was the tiny case of the near-slipup on the rooftops. Nightwing was about to call Robin something. He wouldnât have been saying âfriendâ, he wouldnât have had to pause like that. What had he been about to say? She hoped it wasnât âboyfriendâ, they had what seemed to be a 10 year age gap. Her best assumption was they were going to say âbrotherâ, which implied at least most of the bat family was related.
Her eyes found their way to the tab with a picture of Bruce Wayne. He was standing alone, his kids never had pictures taken of them out of respect for their privacy, but everyone knew of his penchant for adopting kids with dark hair and blue eyes.
Great. Sheâll never know, then. How was she, a designer, supposed to get close to the Bruce Wayne?
~
On a completely unrelated note, the next day she stood outside of a gate with Tim. Her eyes locked on the weird symbol on the gate, trying to place where sheâd seen it before, but her brain couldnât seem to find it. Oh well, it was probably just one of the rich people sheâd researched yesterday.
Tim placed his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes. âYou can not let my dad adopt you.â
She gave a small eyeroll, pushing his hands off and smoothing out her dress. It had taken forever to get a dresscode out of Tim, because he insisted that âyou could wear a burlap sack and my family would love you, just relaxâ, but he eventually just told her formal. Not helpful. Thereâs levels of formal, Tim. She had settled for a plain red dress with a black belt.
âI donât think my parents would be all that excited if I traded them out after a few days here.â
He nodded. âThatâs good. Use that.â
âUse tha--?â
The gates swung open.
Tim took a deep breath as if to steel his nerves. âAt least Damian isnât here. You get to meet the nicest of the family first.â
âWhy isnât he here?â
âHe got out of it,â he shrugged.
They stepped inside. She stared up at the high walls. She pulled out her phone and took a picture in case she messed up with Timâs family so bad that she wasnât allowed back.
The moment she walked in someone pulled her into a hug. âThank you!â He cried.
Marinette blinked and gave him a short pat on the back. âYouâre... welcome?â
He pulled away and held out a hand to shake. âSorry, I was just so excited to meet the person who got him to take a day off. Iâm Dick.â
âYouâre... youâre what?â She said, her eyebrows shooting into her hair.
Dick rubbed the back of his neck. âOh, right, French. Iâm Richard but, in America, that gets shortened to âDickâ.â
She blinked once, then just chose to accept it. âNice to meet you, Iâm Marinette.â
âHowâd you do it?â
She gave a small shrug as they began walking to the dining room. âI donât know. He just offered.â
Dick sent her a skeptical look, then looked at his brother as if to confirm.
âIn my defense, she looked really stressed.â
âMore stressed than you usually do?â Came a voice from above. She looked up to see yet another guy leaning over a railing to look at them.
Marinette raised her eyebrows. âI thought you guys were adopted, how do you all look exactly the same?â
The newest grinned. âDadâs got a type.â He hopped the railing and landed next to them.
She narrowed her eyes slightly as she took a better look at all of them. Timâs dodge could be put down as self-defense, but hopping a railing and landing without getting hurt?
She blinked as a hand was thrust in her face and gave a weak smile. âIâm Marinette, nice to meet you.â
âJason.â
Her brain was blaring alarms, trying desperately to tell her something, but it all came out as âAHDKFSFHDLKSNDGâ, which wasnât all that useful.
She shook his hand.
It wasnât until she walked into the dining room and her eyes landed on the Bruce Wayne that she finally figured everything out. Her hands flew to her mouth as she stared at him in stunned silence.
Then she wheeled on Tim and pulled him down by the collar of his shirt. âYouâve been a Wayne this whole time? Why didnât you tell me?â
He had the decency to look sheepish. âI didnât want you to use me for my money.â
âPlease, I knew you were rich from the get-go, it wouldnât have mattered if you were âgoes to Disney twice a yearâ rich or âcould buy Disney if you wantedâ rich. You should have at least warned me outside the gate!â
Bruce dropped something on the desk and Marinette squeaked quietly, letting go of her captive. It was a file of some sort. Crap, was this an interrogation or something? Was that a rich people thing? Do they do in-depth research on people that talk to their kids?
The man slid the file over and she opened it to see... adoption papers?
âWow, you really werenât kidding,â she mumbled as she flipped through them. She glanced up at Bruce. âHow did you get these so fast?â
âI have them on me at all times at this point,â he explained.
She blinked a few times and then slowly closed the file. âIâm sorry, but I have parents already.â
Everyone (except Tim) seemed stunned. She heard Jason whisper: âIs that allowed?â
Despite the slight confusion, everyone took a seat at the table. There was quite a few seats, but she was amused to see all the kids opting to sit next to her.
Dick rested his head on his hands from his spot across the table. âSo, what do you know about Ladybug?â
She did her best not to tense.
âSubtle,â said Jason sarcastically from her right. He turned back to her and gave an apologetic smile. âSorry, âbout that. Heâs been obsessed since she appeared, and most of his research has been a dead end. Heâs grasping at straws.â
She forced a small laugh. âIâm too clutzy to ever be Ladybug, you can ask anyone.â
Dick groaned. âAnd I donât suppose you know who it is?â
âNope.â
Jason, apparently eager to change the subject every two seconds, asked: âHowâd you two meet?â
She glanced at Tim, who was shaking his head so fast she thought itâd pop off, then turned back to his brothers and father. âWe met at the coffee shop. He spilled coffee on me.â
She heard Timâs head hit the table as he groaned.
Jason was cackling. âAwwww, Tim is in a coffeeshop AU!â
Dick grinned. âNext youâll tell me he offered you free drinks for life or something.â
âWell, actually,--.â
She couldnât even finish, Jason was laughing so hard.
Bruce seemed less amused. âI would hope that he did, and for the shirt. too.â
She smirked and looked at Tim, who seemed to sense what she was going to do before she did it. He sent her a short look, a âdonât you dareâ, before she spoke: âActually, he revoked my coffee privileges.â
The poor kid sighed and closed his eyes. His father was glaring daggers at him, so, after a few seconds of him struggling, he finally gave in. âFine, Iâll pay for coffee again.â
She cheered and gave Jason a high five.
Dick rolled his eyes. âYouâre children.â
âLike youâre so much better!â Complained Jason. âYouâre only two years older than me!â
Marinette rolled her eyes and reached out to poke Timâs face until he finally looked over at her.
âHe lives!â She cheered softly and he shook his head and sat up some, a smile playing across his lips.
Bruce chuckled and leaned back in his chair. Heâd been watching the four for a little while. They seemed like theyâd get along...
âTim, have you invited her yet?â
Tim went red.
âIâll take that as a no. Do you want to do it or should I?â
The kid took a deep breath to steel himself, then gently poked her shoulder for her attention. The moment she looked at him, though, he froze and couldnât seem to get any words out.
Marinetteâs head tipped to the side. âUm...?â
Bruce rolled his eyes. âIâd like to, on behalf of my son, invite you to the Wayne Gala.â
To everyoneâs surprise, the girl didnât smile, or thank him, or really react positively at all.
Marinette released a quiet sound, like a balloon deflating, as she slumped into her seat and covered her face in her hands. Tim rubbed her shoulder comfortingly.
âWhatâs wrong?â Came Dickâs voice.
âSix!â She cried.
âYou have something against musicals?â Said Jason.
She lowered her hands just enough to glare at him. âI have to make six outfits in four months.â
âYou donât have --,â began Tim.
âI have to! Make! Six outfits! In four months!â
~~~
When Marinette is done with the gala outfits will I show you what they look like?
Iâll do you one better. Iâm showing them now because it took a longgggg time and I KNOW I will forget if I wait until then.
I tried to match their personalities with their posture and clothes. I kinda forgot Pennyâs character though lol so now sheâs kinda like Nathalie.
Also that took forever. If yaâll want that again you gotta pay me. Christ.
~
Why is she making an outfit for Adrien if they arenât friends?
They arenât on bad terms, they just grew apart due to a difference in ideology. But, beyond that, she has her reasons. Youâll find out when Adrien comes by.

Itâs Just Not My Thing - Peter Parker
Empire State University looks like the epitome of all things Valentineâs Day which just so happened to be your least favorite holiday. In fact, you hated the day and with good reason, so Peter plans something special to get you away from all the love and hearts.
A/N: Happy Valentineâs Day @jellyfishbeansontoast! This is my gift to you from @killingbxys and @earthlyhollandâs Valentineâs Day Fic Exchange! I tried to add little details about you that Iâm sure youâll notice hehe and side note: this is the longest thing I have ever written so I really hope you guys like it!
Warnings: some curse words
Word Count: 12.3k+ (kinda sorry, kinda not)
--------------------------------------------------
âGod, it looks like Cupid threw up here,â you groaned as you looked around at the campus that surrounded you when you and Peter walked out of the main science building. Splashes of red and pink and small bits of purple littered the outsides of all the buildings around Empire State University and the walkways were heavily decorated as well.
âYeah,â Peter chuckled from beside you when he caught sight of the disgusted face you made on upon noticing the immense amount of love-centered holiday dĂŠcor. âESU really outdid themselves,â he mentioned, his brown eyes falling upon the pink and red twinkly lights that were twisted together and spiraling around the trees. Heart-shaped balloons swung beside the entrance of the dorm across the way. People had drawn on the sidewalks with chalk several little hearts and flowers, words of love written in the same hues as everything else. Even in the water fountain at the center of everything, they had turned the lights pink giving the water a rose tint.
âA little too much,â you shuddered after speaking. Valentineâs Day was very obviously not your cup of tea when it came to holidays. You never understood why people needed a whole day to show their love and appreciation for their significant other when it was really something you should be showing your person every day. It also bothered you a little because you never had someone to show all your love to on the damned day of hearts and flowers. The one time you had a boyfriend for a long period a couple years ago, you two broke up on February 13th so that only further encouraged your hatred for the day. âI think Iâm gonna puke.â
Peter chuckled from your side at your dramatics, amused by your clear disdain for all things red and pink that surrounded you as you walked. That was one thing he loved about you. You always brought a smile to his face no matter what you did. He could come to you after a stressful week of tests or after a bad night on patrol and you would make him laugh and feel better within seconds. You did not even have to say anything. Maybe it was just your aura or your presence, but it made his mood rise tenfold.
âWhy do you hate Valentineâs Day so much anyway?â he inquired. You two had only become friends since college, meeting in your biology class last semester after you asked if someone was sitting in the free seat next to him on the first day. Sitting next to each other led to snide remarks about your professor to each other and asking questions when things didnât make sense. One day, he asked if you wanted to study with him for the first test at the library and youâd be lying to yourself if you said you didnât want to spend more time with the cute curly-headed boy from your biology class. That opened the door to more study sessions and then sometimes yâall would study at the coffee shop across the street. Soon those turned into hanging out at the coffee shop and somewhere along the line, you two became really good friends.
âValentineâs day just isnât really my thing, you know bad experiences and all. I also donât really like how itâs being shoved down our throats,â you told him simply, gesturing to the sheet signs that some of the sororities had made and hung up. You shrugged slightly before speaking once more. âI just donât like it.â
Peter nodded slowly and you could visibly see the gears turning in his mind. You really knew he was thinking hard when he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth with his tongue and his cinnamon brown irises danced around at everything in front of him. His eyebrows drew together as you both continued your walk to the coffee shop, and you could not watch him anymore without knowing what was going on in that big, beautiful brain of his.
âWhatâre you thinkinâ about, Parker? Iâm scared youâre gonna exert yourself if you think any harder,â you giggled when the words fell from your lips. He let his lip go from its captivity between his pearly whites and his eyes found you again, his signature smile showing on his face.
âI just had an idea,â he mentioned before leaning across you to press the button on the pole to signal traffic that you two were about to walk across the street as soon as the light changed. It was your turn to furrow your brows, but you did it in confusion instead of hard thinking.
âAnd would you like to share what it was or leave me in mystery?â you inquired with a quirked brow. He playfully rolled his eyes at you before beginning with his idea.
âSo, this is just a thought and we donât have to if you donât want to, but what if we got out of the city for the weekend?â he proposed before he noticed the light change from an orange hand to the white outline of a man, signaling him that it was okay to walk. He looked both ways still before his hand found your lower back and he guided you across the street with him.
âJust you and me? Why?â you questioned further as you tried to ignore the warmth you felt inside you at the small but kind action he had just shown you.
âWell, you obviously hate Valentineâs Day so we could get away from all this stuff,â he told you as he gestured back towards the floral-colored campus that sat on the other side of the street.
âThat I do,â you nodded in agreement as Peter pushed the door open for you and let you go in first. The overwhelming scent of coffee hit your nostrils like a train when you fully entered the building, Peter close behind. The coffee shop was always slightly busier on Fridayâs but today was a bit much. The line was basically backed up to the door, leaving you and Peter squished against each other and the door. Somehow, yâallâs favorite spot in the corner was still available. âDo you want to stay here or go to the library?â
âWe can stay if you want. You can go ahead and sit down so no one else steals our spot and Iâll get our drinks,â Peter suggested into your ear after you turned in the small space to face him properly.
âOkay, I want a-â you started but your words were cut off by the boy with who you were sharing your personal space at the moment.
âA hot chocolate with no whipped cream with those little marshmallows on top. I know. I got it,â he chuckled as his hand rested on your shoulder for a second. âNow go sit down before someone takes our spot.â You rolled your eyes at him before turning around and sitting in your seat, placing your book bag in the opposite place just in case someone tried to sit with you.
A few moments later after you and Peter shared a few glances while he waited in the lengthy line, he finally got to the counter and began to order your beverages. You had pulled out your laptop to see what all you needed to do over the weekend and surprisingly, there was not that much to do in comparison to the last few weeks that had been hell and you never really caught a break. Now it looked like you might be able to take a breather and do something fun rather than being holed up in your room writing a paper or studying for a test. All you had to do before Monday was two quizzes and a quick essay and you would be all done.
âYour hot chocolate maâam,â Peter spoke jokingly as he presented the heated beverage to you. You rolled your eyes, taking the cup and setting it on the table.
âShut up and sit down, Parker,â you quipped before moving your book bag so that he could do as you asked of him. He smiled at you and took the seat that he always sat in every time you both came to the small coffee shop.
âI donât even know why you come to a coffee place so often if you donât like coffee,â Peter mumbled as he took a small sip of his drink, grimacing as he pulled away when the caffeinated liquid was too hot to handle at the moment.
âFor starters, that bean juice is disgusting. I donât know how you drink it. Secondly, it doesnât do anything for me as far as waking me up or getting me energized. Third, they make really good hot chocolate. And lastly, this is our spot, Peter. Of course I am going to come here all the time,â you informed him while you opened up a blank document on your computer, setting the font to Times New Roman, twelve-point, and making sure it was double spaced before you began typing your two-page essay on why technology is important and how it helps us every day. âTell me more about this idea you were talking about earlier.â
âOh yeah.â The boy across from you perked up and took another sip of his drink, forgetting that it was still too hot and burned his tongue. âSo, this is what I was thinking. We finish all our schoolwork so that we have all weekend free. We can get out of here and find some place to explore, you know? Like we could find a hotel and just look around and go to new places. It would distract you from all the Valentineâs Day stuff and we could use the break from school since weâve both been so busy lately.â
âI like that. Letâs do it! All I have is this small paper, our chemistry quiz, and a trig quiz and it shouldnât take me more than a couple of hours,â you said with a smile, excited for this weekend trip with your best friend and away from all things Valentineâs and school-related.
âI just have the chem quiz that I was waiting to do with you, so I can look for a place to go and a hotel,â he stated while sipping on his now cooled down coffee.
âSounds like a plan.â So, then the searching began. Youâd glance up at him from time to time to see his eyes trained on his computer screen, nodding his head as he read whatever information he was taking in from the device. The way his eyebrows were furrowed and how focused his brown eyes were on his laptop was a little funny to you, but you also thought it was cute. While you were watching him, his eyebrows shot up and his eyes diverted to you. âWhat?â
âI found the perfect place,â he told you with a big grin.
âWell tell me where, you idiot,â you chuckled but he shook his head, not quite ready to give you that information just yet.
âNo, itâs a surprise,â he spoke softly as he typed at his keyboard. He then pulled out his phone to dial a number and put it up to his ear.
âWho are you calling?â you pondered aloud, tilting your head at him.
âThere are two hotels near there so Iâm calling one right n- Hi, I was wondering if you have any rooms open for this weekend.â He paused to let the person on the other end talk but based on the way his shoulders slouched, you could tell that this one was a bust. âOkay, thatâs fine. Thank you. You have a nice day.â
âNo luck?â you asked though you knew the answer. He shook his head at you before looking back at his computer screen. âYou going to call the other one?â
âYep,â he sighed as he brought his phone back up to his ear and waited for someone to pick up. âYes, hi. I was wondering if you had any rooms available for the weekend.â He shot you a smile when you heard the mumbles of whoever was on the other line, so you assumed it was good news. âYes, it is two people, and we will be staying tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday night.â You heard more mumbles from the other end before Peterâs voice cut them off. âOkay, we will take it! Thank you, sir.â
âThat went a lot better,â you chuckled at the boyâs wide grin.
âYeah and weâre lucky too because he said that was the last room they had.â You nodded at him as you finished up your paper.
âProofread this for me? You always catch things I donât,â you asked him when you turned your laptop towards him. He gladly took it and quickly skimmed over it, typing here and there at your misspellings or overbearing use of commas that he always picked on you about.
âLooks good. Ready for the chem quiz?â You nodded your head as you both opened the quiz and began to take it together.
...
âSo, weâre leaving tonight?â you asked Peter as you both left the coffee shop after being there for a few hours. The sun was beginning to set behind the buildings of ESU and it made the campus look so pretty from across the street where you two stood, waiting your turn to cross.
âYeah, weâre gonna go to our dorms, pack enough for a few days, then weâll leave. Itâs about two hours outside of the city so we will get there at around ten if we leave within the next hour and weâll probably stop somewhere for dinner too.â You nodded along to Peterâs words as his hand found your lower back again to lead you across the street when the light changed.
âYouâve got this all figured out, donât you Pete?â you grinned at the boy while walking next to him as you two approached the central water fountain, the lights illuminating it an even brighter shade of pink in the darker time of day.
âOf course I do. Anything for my best girl,â he chuckled when his arm slipped around your shoulders and pulled you into him. That nickname didnât come often but it always brought butterflies in your tummy, but you knew there was nothing really to it. Did you really want something more with your best friend? Yes and no. You didnât see a future with anyone else, but heâs your best friend and you also couldnât see him and you in a romantic kind of relationship. Well, you could but you didnât think it would ever happen, so youâve pushed it into the depths of your mind.
After passing all the lovey-dovey shit that somewhat led to this whole weekend getaway, you both made it back to the dorms. You both went up to the fourth floor and parted ways at the elevator since your dorms were in different directions. Upon entering your room, you quickly emptied your bookbag of all its books and school things so that you could put some clothes in it.
âWhat are you doing?â your roommate, Raelyn, asked as she leaned against your door frame.
âPeter and I are going on a trip for the weekend,â you told her before you walked past her to get to the sink, grabbing your toothbrush and other things you needed from that area.
âOoo where to?â she perked up. She was always so interested in your relationship with Peter, waiting for you and him to finally get together. She honestly thought you two were together a long time ago but was disappointed when she found out that you were not.
âI donât know. He said itâs a surprise. All I know is that itâs about two hours outside the city and there are two hotels near it,â you filled her in as you packed the items that were just in your hands into the smaller pocket on your bag.
âA surprise trip where you stay in a hotel with Peter?â she gushed while wearing the biggest grin.
âCalm down, Rae. Itâs just me and Peter going to explore some place to get away from school and all this Valentineâs shit and speaking of Valentineâs, what are you and Florence going to be doing?â You changed the subject effectively and watched the girlâs cheeks flush at the mention of her lovely girlfriend. They have been together for a few months now and this was their first Valentineâs Day together, so you knew she was excited. The girl loved love and she loved Florence, so this was perfect for her.
âWeâre going to recreate our first date,â she spoke softly as she watched you go into the bathroom to get your shower things.
âDidnât yâall do like a cute little picnic on a cliff and stargaze and stuff? Floâs gonna love that,â you grinned at Rae while she childishly bit at her bottom lip to keep her smile from growing too big.
âYeah, sheâs making chocolate covered strawberries and Iâm gonna go down to her favorite bakery and get some goodies as well. Itâs gonna be a night to remember for sure,â she giggled before tucking some loose strands of her dark hair behind her ear. âI was actually putting together a little scrapbook for her when I heard you come in, so Iâll let you finish packing for your Valentineâs trip with Peter-â
âItâs to get away from Valentineâs, Rae,â you corrected her as she playfully rolled her light-colored eyes at you.
âAnyway, I am going to get back to what I was doing, and you have fun with Peter. Be safe and use protection!â she shouted when she went back to her room.
âWe wonât need it!â you yelled right back.
âY/n, you dirty girl!â she joked, causing you to groan and roll your eyes.
âNot like that, you dumbass. You are starting to sound like his aunt!â She just laughed in return and you finished your packing when you heard a knock at the door. âIâll get it!â you shouted as you slung your bag onto your shoulder.
âHey, you ready to go?â Peter asked when your eyes met his. You nodded your head before turning to say goodbye to Rae.
âBye Rae. Have fun with Flo this weekend.â You shot her a wink and she giggled as she taped a heart to the corner of a picture of the two together on the page of the scrapbook she was currently working on. âYou too! Bye y/n. Bye Peter!â
âBye Rae!â Peter said loudly before you shut the door behind you and followed him out.
...
âHow much longer?â you asked, getting antsy. It was almost ten and you really wanted to know where you would be spending your weekend.
âLike ten minutes. Chill out and eat your pringles,â he chuckled as he pointed to the green can of pringles that he had gotten you earlier when he stopped for gas. You huffed before grabbing some chips, placing a few in his opened hand, and keeping some for yourself. Peter kept one hand on the wheel while he munched on the chips you had given him in his other hand. You capped the can of pringles and leaned your head against your seatbelt a little.
âOkay, weâre here,â Peter told you as he lightly shook your shoulder since you were nearing sleep. You stirred a little, looking over to him while he unclicked his seatbelt and leaned over to do yours as well.
âThanks,â you mumbled before bringing your hands up to your eyes to wipe the small bits of tiredness out of them, ignoring the slight fluttery feeling that took over your stomach at Peterâs action. You got out, slipping on your jacket that you were using as a blanket in the car to shield yourself from the crisp air of the cold February night. Both of you grabbed your bags from the back seat before Peter locked the car behind him and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into him to provide some warmth for you both.
The hotel looked more like a large home or mansion, older looking too but it had a charm to it. It gave off a cozy and welcoming feel and you have not even entered its doors yet. Peter pushed the door to it open and let you in first, him following soon after. It looked even more comforting and homey on the inside as well. It was clearly a family business as there were family pictures hung upon the wall and the couches that sat around a small coffee table reminded you of your grandparentâs house, making you feel more at home.
âHi, how can I help you?â the sweet voice of an older lady broke you from your thoughts when you looked over at her. She wore a pale yellow apron tied around her waist and a gentle smile upon her lips. You sent her a kind grin as well before Peter turned to you.
âYou go sit down. I know youâre tired. Iâll handle this, okay?â You nodded at his words, an insuppressible yawn escaping your lips when you turned to go sit on one of the couches you noticed earlier and resting your head on your hand.
âHi,â Peter started as he walked up to the front desk that the lady stood behind. âI talked on the phone earlier with a man. He said there was a room available for two.â
âOh yes, that was George. Let me go get him right quick.â Peter nodded nicely at the woman before she left through a door behind the desk. He turned around to look at you close to sleep again. He didnât notice the small smile that crept onto his face, but it was definitely there.
âHe will be right here in just a second,â the woman spoke softly when she noticed the way Peter was looking at you. âSheâs as cute as a button that girl. Iâm sure you love her very much.â His head tilted slightly as to what the lady was referring to, but he shook it off.
âYeah, I do.â He meant it in a friendly way, but the woman clearly thought he meant romantically based on her next words.
âYâall make an adorable couple. Iâve loved seeing young lovers pass through here over the years. Itâs cute.â Before Peter could protest her words, a man, George assumingly, walked in through the door that the lady went through earlier.
âMr. Parker?â he asked as he searched on his computer for a moment.
âYes, thatâs me,â he chirped, feeling slightly awkward about the womanâs assumptions but did not let it bother him too much. Of course, Peter loved you and he would love to love you in that way, but something always held him back. Fear probably as he wouldnât dare risk losing you as a best friend. Youâre his whole world and if he confessed how he felt and it ruined your relationship, he would hate himself for it.
âAlright, you paid online, and everything is set for you. Here is the key and we hope yâall have a nice stay,â he grinned while passing over the key that had a red heart attached to it. So much for staying away from Valentineâs related things. The heart read â214â so Peter took that as the room number.
âThank you and have a nice night,â Peter returned the politeness back before turning to go get you. The sight of you sleeping was absolutely adorable to him and made his heart soar. You had shifted from leaning on your hand to hugging your book bag and leaning against that instead. He hated that he had to wake you up when you looked so precious.
âHey, y/n,â he whispered when he crouched down in front of you and lightly shook your arm. You stirred awake, your tired eyes meeting his big brown ones, and hummed in response. âIâve got the key. Letâs go upstairs and you can go back to sleep.â You nodded as you stood and stretched before slipping your bag back onto your arm.
âGood night you two! Yâall have fun,â the kind woman you smiled at earlier spoke softly as she shot you a wink and waved you two off. You and Peter both waved back to her and sent sweet smiles her way before you headed up the stairs, choosing to ignore her playful but peculiar gesture. After making it to the second floor, you let Peter lead the way as you leaned into him, his arm where it always was wrapped around your shoulders.
âOkay, I think this is it,â Peter announced when stopping in front of a door numbered 214. You yawned and nodded while watching him fiddle with the key that had a heart charm dangling from it. You found it to be quite cute, just another little thing to add to the allure of this whole hotel. After a second, Peter finally turned the key and opened the door, letting you go in first like the gentleman he always was. He stepped in behind and flipped on the light switch, illuminating the room that was decorated in a way you both least expected.
You busted out laughing at the sight before you. A rather large white circular bed sat against the wall which was normal, but the rose petals that littered the sheets were far from what you were thinking when it came to sharing a hotel room with Peter. Red curtains covered the windows, a large red chair sat in the corner by a tv, and candles sat on the bedside tables. The light that Peter had turned on was quite dim compared to normal lights but was perfect to set the mood for a couple looking to have a fun night which you and Peter were not. You turned to look at Peter whose cheeks were the reddest thing in the room and only laughed a little harder, tears springing to your eyes.
âY/n, I am so sorry. I was trying to get you away from Valentineâs stuff, not bring you somewhere intended for it. God, I am an idiot. Iâm so sorry, you gotta believe me,â he rambled on as you gripped onto his arm to steady yourself, your laughter making your knees weaker. You leaned your head against his shoulder, continuing to giggle but also trying to calm yourself down.
âP-Peter,â you stuttered through chuckles and took a deep breath to calm your laughter before looking up at him. âPeter,â you repeated a little more seriously and stared into his eyes with your tear-filled ones. You could tell he felt so bad, but you did not mind the room that much. It was really funny to you honestly. âItâs okay. This is okay. Itâs hilarious actually so lighten up and laugh about it, but this is alright. We needed a place to sleep and this works so weâre good.â
âPeople have probably had sex on that bed,â he groaned before his eyes flickered over towards the petal-covered sheets and then back to you.
âPeople would have fucked on any bed at any hotel. Did we get the bed that a lot more people have probably had sex on? Yes, but Iâm sure they changed the sheets and cleaned up.â Peter shuddered at your words before pouting again. âWhat?â
âI feel bad,â he muttered as he looked around at the room and then back to you, the girl who wanted to get away from campus because it looked similar to this. You sighed before wrapping your arms around his waist and pulling him into a hug, nuzzling your head under his chin.
âItâs okay, Pete. It doesnât bother me, and we only have to sleep here. We have got a whole place to explore tomorrow and Sunday, right? So, donât worry about the room. So far, it has been the highlight of my trip,â you told him before lifting your head up to look at him, a grin on your lips.
âYouâre the best, you know that?â he mumbled, squeezing you tighter against him.
âYeah, I know,â you joked just to hear his amused giggle, making your words worth it.
âAre you okay sleeping together or I can sleep in the big chair if you want?â Peter asked when he pulled away from you. You rolled your eyes at the boy before you.
âPeter, weâve slept together on those tiny ass twin beds in the dorms. I think we can handle sharing the bed. Itâs much bigger and probably much more comfortable as well,â you mentioned as you walked to the bed and sat your bag down on it, ruffling through your things to find your charger. âUnless youâre scared of the sex thatâs been had on it,â you teased, wiggling your brows at him tauntingly, âthen the chair is all yours.â
âShut up,â he quipped when he followed your actions and rummaged through his bag for his clothes. âAre you showering tonight or in the morning?â
âThe morning. I am too tired to shower right now,â you spoke and yawned as if on cue.
âGreat so Iâm spending the night with a stinky girl,â he joked while your jaw dropped.
âI do not stink,â you playfully pouted while slipping your hefty jacket off your arms.
âWell,â he shrugged as if he was trying to tell you that you really smelled bad without hurting your feelings.
âPeter!â you frowned, crossing your arms in front of you.
âIâm kidding, y/n. You always smell nice,â he reassured as he collected his clothes and walked towards the bathroom before shutting the door behind him. You took the opportunity to pull out your pajamas which was an ESU sweatshirt and some pink pajama pants you had stolen from Peter. As soon as you heard the water start, you changed and pushed the rose petals to the side, letting them fall to the floor before you hopped in bed and got comfortable under the covers. Though for some reason, you were not as tired as you were previously and couldnât just fall asleep as easily, so you got on your phone for a moment. Not long after, the water shut off from in the bathroom and a damp, curly-headed Peter Parker emerged from its door.
âThe bath is shaped like a heart,â Peter told you before he walked over to his bag to set his dirty clothes beside it.
âYouâre kidding,â you giggled, setting your phone down next to you to properly look at him, his wet curls making you feel some type of way though you wouldnât show that.
âIâm not,â he chuckled, running a light hand through damp hair. He walked over to the light switch to turn the dim light off before he walked back to the bed and climbed in next to you.
âYou really got the loverâs suite, didnât you? You know you couldâve just asked me to be your Valentine. I probably wouldâve said yes,â you teased the boy who you laid beside, hearing an exasperated sigh leave his lips.
âIt was the only room they had,â he protested while you turned to face him, though you could not see much in the darkness. âAnd probably? You better say yes if I were to ask you such a question.â
âIâd say yes, you dumbass. We were likely to spend Valentineâs Day together anyway. Weâre together all the time,â you pointed out and he hummed in response.
âYeah, youâre right, but you really arenât mad about this? I planned this whole thing to get away from all the hearts and flowers and love and stuff,â he brought up, shifting in bed to face you as well. You could hear the worry in his tone, so you reached out your hand to find his and rubbed your thumb over his knuckles.
âYou also said it was to get away from school and take a break. Weâve both been busy bees these last few weeks and we needed this, so donât worry. The room is fine,â you spoke calmly. Though you could barely see in the dark, you could just hardly make out a smile on his face, or at least you could feel the presence of it.
âNow that I think about it, it makes a lot more sense as to why that lady downstairs thought we were a couple,â Peter thought out loud. You chuckled thinking about how she winked at you and told you to âhave fun tonightâ. Silence overcame you both and you let go of Peterâs hand to turn the other way to hopefully fall asleep.
âHey y/n,â Peter mumbled after a while of no speaking.
âYeah,â you whispered, tilting your head slightly towards him.
âCan I ask you something?â His words filled the void around you, and it was all you could hear. He sounded serious, but not like it was something about him but more of a curiosity question.
âOf course,â you muttered, laying on your back and facing the boy.
âEarlier when I asked why you hated Valentineâs Day so much, you mentioned something about bad experiences. Can I ask what that was?â You knew it was your curious Peter just asking a random question as it normally was, but you understood why he used an earnest tone.
âYeah, I, uh, used to date this guy my senior year of high school and I was like head over heels for him. We had been dating for almost ten months and then the day before Valentineâs Day, I found out he cheated on me with my best friend at the time, so I lost the two people I loved and trusted most all in one day. The last few months of high school werenât fun, and I was ready to get to college so I applied to ones that I knew they couldnât get into. That led me to ESU and then I met you,â you explained, âand I donât think Iâve ever been happier.â
âOh y/n. Iâm sorry about all that. I know that had to suck,â Peter softly spoke before his hand found yours to help comfort you this time.
âItâs okay. It was high school, so I kinda expected it to be hell. I was just lucky enough that I didnât have to experience the hell of it until the very end. And on the bright side, I have you and Rae and Florence is becoming a good friend of mine too so it worked out for the better.â Peter repeated your actions from earlier and rubbed his thumb over the back of your hand in a soothing manner.
âYeah, thatâs a nice way to look at it,â Peter mumbled while drawing little circles into your skin. The motions of it had brought you a sense of great peace and comfort and were helping you feel sleepier. You were getting closer to a nice long slumber when you felt him pull his hand away.
âWait, give me that back. It was helping me go to sleep,â you whined. Peterâs chuckle sounded throughout the room before his hand found yours again and began the circular motions with his thumb on your hand. With that, you were asleep in seconds.
...
You were slightly awakened when you felt something move on top of you. Then the fact that something moved on you made your eyes shoot open because last you checked you fell asleep with nothing on you, but now there was definitely something there. You also realized you felt something around you as well. When you opened your eyes, you saw the brown shade of Peterâs nest of curls resting on your chest and put together that he cuddled into you in his sleep. You lifted your head slightly to look at the clock that sat on his nightstand and saw that it was almost nine, so you decided to get up and shower, letting Peter sleep in a little longer. Slowly, you tried to slip out of his grasp without waking him, but as soon as you tried to move, his arms pulled you in tighter. Chuckling lightly to yourself, you tapped at his arm.
âUh, Peter,â you whispered softly. He stirred a little but did not wake up. âPete, I need to get up.â He squinted one eye open and saw what you were talking about.
âOh yeah uh sorry,â he stammered while lifting his body off you. You smiled and rolled your eyes as you slipped out of the warmth and comfort of Peter and the bed to get some clothes for the day. Peter rubbed at his eyes before turning in the sheets, placing his face into the pillow, and trying to fall back asleep. Heading to the bathroom, you chuckled at the boy and opened the door. Once your eyes fell upon the heart-shaped bathtub that Peter was talking about last night, another giggle escaped you as you thought about the events that happened before you fell asleep. Only Peter Parker, the smartest person you know, would get the loverâs suite on a trip to get away from all that stuff.
âYou ready?â Peter asked once you were all showered and dressed, appearing to be ready for the day that you knew nothing about.
âI think so,â you told him as you followed him out the door, shoving your phone into your jacket pocket.
âGood morning lovebirds. Did the lovely pair have a nice night?â the lady from the previous  night asked you both when she saw you two coming down the stairs.
âYes, we did, Mrs. Milly,â you answered, completely disregarding the âlovebirdsâ part, as you read the name that was printed on the different apron she was wearing today. âI love your name. I have a cat named Milly.â
âAww thank you, but you can just call me Milly or Mildred. Whichever you prefer,â she spoke kindly as she sat in the desk chair.
âI like Mildred,â you mused, leaning against the counter.
âThank you,â she grinned at you before she asked, âHow long have you two been together?â
âOh, weâre n-â Peter started but you cut him off with the jab of your elbow into his side, the whole action being shielded from the older lady with the counter.
âSix months,â you answered before turning to Peter who gazed at you in confusion. âIsnât that right, Pete?â
âY-yes,â he agreed, nodding at Mildred. She smiled warmly at you both before speaking again.
âWell, I wonât keep you cuties any longer. Yâall probably have a whole day planned.â
âThat we do. Weâll see you later, Mildred,â you told her as you and Peter both waved at her before leaving the cozy hotel.
âUh what was that?â Peter asked as soon as you two got in the car.
âWhat? Why I elbowed you?â you questioned, reaching up to grab your seatbelt and clicking it in.
âYeah, and why you pretended we were dating,â he stated while placing the keys in the ignition and turning them, the car roaring to life in response.
âDo you really want to explain to that poor old woman that youâre a dumbass who got that room for a weekend with his best friend?â He instantly saw your point and did not bother arguing any further. âYeah, I also didnât want to break her heart because she really seems to like us, even if that may be as a couple.â
âThat makes sense,â he hummed, pulling out of the parking space and beginning to drive on the main road.
âSo where to Parker?â you asked since you had literally no idea what he had planned for the day.
âOkay so thereâs a little diner between here and the nearest town, so I was thinking we go to the diner for breakfast, then thereâs a cool science museum that looked interesting and it has a planetarium too so we can check that out. There is a somewhat rundown mall that looked like something youâd really like. Thereâs a really pretty park too that we can go to. Does any of this sound good or should we go somewhere else?â Peter asked when you had stayed quiet throughout his whole explanation.
âNo Pete, it sounds perfect. Iâm really excited,â you said with the hugest grin on your face.
âThatâs what I like to hear,â he chirped before further explaining some more things that yâall could do.
...
âThe planetarium was the best part for sure,â you told Peter as you walked beside him in the mall he brought up earlier. There were a good bit of people there for a place that was considered to be rundown or abandoned, but it was probably just one of the attractions of this lovely town. While some of the shops were closed, others were open and the food court still had some running businesses as well. The whole building itself was older but the inside was pretty alive and well. It was an interesting sight to see. âSo where do you want to eat for lunch?â
âYou pick,â he stated quickly. He always let you pick, but this time you didnât want to.
âNo Peter. You have planned this whole trip and made me happy. You pick lunch at least and you know foodâs on me since you paid for the hotel so donât even try that.â He chuckled lightly at your words before his big brown eyes scanned his options for your next meal. His options were limited to a Chinese restaurant, a pizza place, and a soup and sandwich spot.
âI think soup and sandwiches would be pretty good,â he mentioned as he met your eyes to see if you agree. With a quick smile and nod, it was evident that you did agree so the two of you walked toward the small soup shop and got in line behind a few other people.
âSo, I was thinking that for the rest of the day, we couldâŚâ You let Peterâs words drown out as you looked around at the people that you could see outside of the window that showed the mall. Several different shoppers walked around the old place, but the back of someone in particular looked oddly familiar to you so your eyes darted to who they were talking to and that person was more familiar than you would have liked. The face of someone you had hoped you would never see again stood across the mall and your eyes basically bulged out of your head. On instinct, you grabbed Peterâs arms and shifted his body to stand between you and the guy, hoping he did not catch your gaze.
âWhatâs wrong? Are you okay?â Peterâs soft and concerned voice broke through your thoughts for a moment before they resumed. How? How could this be happening? You tried so hard to get away from him? And of course, you would find him on the same day he broke your heart two years ago.
âI- yeah. I need to hide and itâs either you stand there and block me, or I go under that table,â you told him, giving him not a clue as to what was going on. Peter slowly turned his body to look at the source of the problem and you caught his eyes, the blue ones that you used to think everything of staring right back at you. âI used to eat playdough under the table as a kid,â you blurted out, your hand quickly slapping over your mouth at your sudden confession.
âWhat?â Peter mustered, a small smile cracking on his face in amusement.
âSorry, I say random things when Iâm nervous. You know that,â you reminded the curly-headed boy who stood before you with a teasing grin illuminating his features.
âI do know that, but seriously. Playdough?â You slapped at his chest when he laughed at your despair. Out the corner of your eye, you could see your ex and his friend wrapping up their conversation and it appeared like he was leaning towards your direction and anxiety filled you.
âStop, this isnât funny. Laugh about that later but right now I need a favor.â Peterâs giggles subsided at your serious tone and he was attentive to whatever you needed. âAct like my boyfriend.â
âWhat?â he questioned, dumbfounded with wide eyes.
âJust put your arm around me and make me laugh or something,â you instructed of him. Though it was normal for him to have an arm around you, he was a bit hesitant to it now but nonetheless, his arm found its normal spot around your shoulders, nice and friendly.
âNo Peter. God, youâre helpless,â you sighed before you grabbed his hand that rested on your shoulder and placed it on your waist. A light dusting of red scattered upon Peterâs cheeks when you leaned your head on his shoulder and let out a sigh.
âHeâs here. That guy I was looking at, thatâs the reason I hate Valentineâs Day so much.â He nodded understandingly at your words when you looked up at him and his thumb absentmindedly began to rub against your waist, the minuscule action bringing you much comfort. On your way to put your head back down on his shoulder, your eyes caught the blue ones again and you saw him say goodbye to his friend and step in the direction of the soup shop. Your breath hitched and only one thing came to mind as a way to get him to leave you alone or give him some hint that you werenât available.
âPeter, kiss me,â you half asked, half told him while his eyebrows shot up and brown eyes widened.
âWha- y/n, I donât know,â he stammered, gazing deeply into your eyes to make sure you were being completely sure about this, not joking or pulling some funny shit. âThis doesnât seem-â
âShut up and kiss me,â you spoke sternly before your hand found his cheek, cupping his beautiful face. Your eyes darted between his for a bit of consent and he slightly nodded so you went for it. Your lips connected with his while his other arm wrapped around your waist as well, pulling your body closer to his. Your free hand found the nape of his neck, trailing upwards to thread your fingers through those soft brown locks of his. Kissing Peter was something you never really saw yourself doing, but it was nice. He was surprisingly good at it and he seemed to be enjoying himself as well.
âNext in line,â the man behind the counter repeated himself since you two were too involved with each other to hear him the first time. You both jumped apart, Peter too in a trance to understand what was happening while you grabbed his hand and walked up to the counter.
âOh sorry, hi! Can I get a cup of broccoli and cheese soup and a grilled cheese? Peter, what do you want?â you asked him, lightly tugging at his hand that you held.
âUhh,â he stammered as his eyes trailed over their menu but he couldnât focused on reading the words after what had just happened. âI think Iâll have the same.â
After you ordered and paid, you two found a spot to sit and finally had to face what had just occurred. Peterâs eyes were trained on you while yours were darting all around to see if you could find your ex, but thankfully, the coast was clear.
âHeâs gone,â you sighed before meeting Peterâs gaze. âThank god, I hated that,â you chuckled before pulling out your phone to scroll mindlessly through it.
âI mean I didnât think it was that bad, but it has been a while since Iâve kissed someone so I-â
âNo Pete,â you breathily laughed. âI hated him being here, not the kiss. You arenât half bad, Parker.â His cheeks tinted pink at the compliment and yours warmed up a fuzz as well. Before you two could continue the conversation, someone came up to your table with your food.
...
âYou two must have had a busy day. I havenât seen you two since nine this morning and it's almost eleven now,â Mildred stated warmly when you and Peter walked in through the front door, chuckling about a deer that was staring at him funnily before yâall came in.
âWe did,â Peter grinned at the kind woman, walking behind you as you stepped up to the desk. It was something about this woman that you loved, and you felt like you could talk to her about anything. She just had a cozy aura about her that matched the hotelâs atmosphere perfectly.
âYes, we did. We went to the science museum, the planetarium, the mall, a park, walked around the town a bit, and then we watched The Sound of Music at the theater,â you explained to Mildred.
âOh, I love that movie,â she gushed with a wide grin, her eyes just as wide as she took in your words. You could tell she genuinely loved hearing about your day and she truly was a really sweet lady.
âShe does too. Itâs one of her favorites,â Peter spoke from beside you, your eyes meeting his when your lips curved upwards at his thoughtfulness.
âYou both are so precious! And I am sure you are tired too, so I wonât keep you any longer. I should head to bed myself. Good night yâall,â Mildred told you, her words followed by a yawn as she stood from the desk chair.
âGood night,â you and Peter said simultaneously before Peterâs hand found the small of your back, leading you towards the stairs.
âI really like her,â you told Peter when you made it to the top of the staircase.
âMildred? Yeah, sheâs a nice lady,â Peter agreed as you both walked towards your room, his hand still guiding you there.
âShe reminds me of a really nice grandma and itâs a plus that she has the same name as my cat,â you chuckled while Peterâs hand left your back to place the key in the door.
âWe should go visit Milly some time. I havenât seen her in a while,â Peter mentioned, swinging the door open and letting you in first.
âYeah, I miss her and she probably misses you too. She really liked you and so did my dad which was surprising,â you chuckled before flopping down onto the circular bed, the replaced rose petals jumping up when your body hit the mattress.
âHe did? He did not act like it. He actually scared me a bit,â Peter told you as his hands fumbled through the contents of his bag, looking for something to sleep in. You let out a yawn after nodding to answer his question. âI assume youâre showering in the morning again?â
âYeah,â you yawned out as you rolled over to find yourself some pajamas. âLet me brush my teeth before you get in there, okay?â
âOkay, but youâve got ten seconds,â Peter teased, eyes gauging your reaction.
âNot all of us have superpowers, dork. I can barely get my toothbrush ready in that time.â
âTwenty seconds,â he offered like that was somehow better and you rolled your eyes before walking into the bathroom.
âIâm gonna brush them slower than I ever have before, so youâll just have to wait.â It was his turn to roll his eyes at you, knowing you were lying. While you glided the toothbrush over your teeth, you heard Peter yell something from in the bedroom.
âEw!â he shouted and that was followed by the sound of something falling.
âWhat?â you asked while still brushing your teeth when you walked back into the room. Peterâs face showed nothing but pure disgust and a slight embarrassment as he pointed down into the open drawer of his nightstand. Your eyebrows furrowed when you walked over to the scene to see a pair of fluffy red handcuffs in the drawer. While laughing, you rolled your eyes at Peter. âYou wanted the loverâs suite,â you joked, turning to go back to the bathroom.
âIt was a mistake! He said they only had one room left and you would think on Valentineâs Day that this one would be taken but obviously not. I am never going to live this down, am I?â Peter exasperated as you finished up in the bathroom.
âSorry Pete, but no. This is the funniest thing and I will never let it go. Wait until I tell Flash in physics Monday,â you told him while exiting the bathroom. He wore a frown when he passed you, trudging on his way to take a shower. Unlike the night before, you were able to fall asleep pretty quickly after you changed and got in bed.
...
This morning, you did not wake up with Peter on top of you. You were in fact cuddled into him, your arm around his torso and head against his chest, but you were far too tired to care or move.
âAre you awake?â Peter whispered upon feeling you move slightly.
âNo,â you mumbled, hiding your face in his chest. His laughter sounded above your head before he spoke up again.
âI hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think our plans for today have been canceled. It is supposed to rain really badly all day like practically monsoon out there, so weâre stuck,â he muttered into the space around you. At that moment, you did notice the sound of the pattering rain outside the window.
âThatâs okay. We can just have a movie day like we normally do on Sundays and we can sleep in a little more if thatâs okay with you,â you spoke with your eyes closed, really dreading waking up since the comfort of the bed and Peter felt too good to leave.
âYeah, thatâs fine,â he softly spoke, his arm that sat around your waist tightening for a second.
âDo you want me to move?â you muttered before picking your head up to look at him. You knew your hair was all over the place, but you didnât have a care at all for its tangled state. Peterâs lips turned upwards into a soft smile as his hand came up to push some of that hair behind your ear.
âI donât mind. You can stay if you want,â his gentle voice spoke, calming and sweet. You nodded your head before laying your head back on his chest.
âSay less.â
After a few more hours of shut-eye, you finally got up since it was nearing lunchtime, but you made sure to leave Peter sleeping. You reached in your bag for those pringles from the other day and quietly tiptoed over to the large comfy chair to sit there and eat chips while you scrolled through TikTok, the volume incredibly low as not to wake him.
âYou left me,â you heard Peterâs pouty voice speak from the bed. Your eyes shot up to meet his as you held up a chip.
âYou were sleeping and I wanted to eat these without waking you.â Peter rubbed at his eyes and laid back down for a second before his legs swung over the bedâs edge, sitting up. He came to sit next to you, the chair just barely big enough for you both, and stuck his hand in the Pringles can. âLet me see,â he mumbled, referring to the TikTok you were watching so you shifted in the seat so that your back laid against his front, your head on his shoulder so you could watch the short videos together. The both of you seemed to be substantially clingy since waking up, but you both also didnât mind it.
It had been about an hour or so of sitting there, eating chips, and laughing at tiktoks before one of you checked the time.
âShit, itâs already one oâclock,â Peter mentioned as his eyes flittered back to you after looking at the clock.
âReally?â you asked before you checked the time on your phone. âI guess youâre right.â
âAre you hungry? Iâm not after the pringles,â Peter asked as he looked down at you still rested against his shoulder.
âYeah, me neither,â you added, âso we can stay in our pajamas a little longer.â You stood from the chair you shared with him and went to the window to look outside. âYou werenât kidding when you said it was gonna monsoon out here. Itâs basically flooding,â you announced after pushing back the red curtains to get a better look. Peter hopped up and followed your previous footsteps, standing behind you and peering over your shoulder. A huff came from him before his head plopped onto your shoulder, you looking down at his grumpy expression and trying to suppress a giggle.
âHey, itâs okay. We can have a super fun movie day. Cheer up buttercup,â you chuckled as you kissed his cheek. You had never done anything like that before with him but felt bold in the moment. It was just a harmless little kiss and meant nothing, so there was nothing wrong with it in your eyes. When you pulled away, he wore a face of pure surprise as he watched you walk over to the remote. âLetâs find something to watch and we can sit in the chair or lay around in the bed and it will be really fun, okay?â Reluctantly, the still-shocked boy nodded his head before crawling into the bed. You followed suit and channel surfed until you found a Star Wars movie, the perfect thing to lift his spirits.
About an hour into it, you were beginning to get cold. You started to realize why each of you gravitated towards the other the past two nights. It was to seek out warmth and now you really wanted to cuddle up next to him, but you felt weird for asking that and you definitely were not just going to do it on your own.
âY/n, your teeth are fucking chattering. Get over here,â Peter spoke up at the perfect moment. You hesitated for like a second before sliding into his open arms and wrapping yours around his torso.
âMy teeth werenât chattering, asshole,â you quipped as you relaxed against his body, finally feeling warmer.
âNo, but I could tell you were cold and I was a little too, so I decided to fix both our problems.â You giggled against his chest before your eyes settled back on the TV screen, watching Leia talk to her brother. After watching one of his favorite movies, yâall watched one of your favorite movies which was Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban, and then a couple of Greyâs Anatomy episodes until you heard Peterâs stomach rumble beneath your ear.
âMaybe we should go get something to eat,â you suggested with a giggle as Peterâs cheeks reddened from embarrassment. âYou couldâve told me you were hungry.â
âYeah, but I know how much you love this show and I was going to wait until the end of this episode before saying something,â he told you while you sat up from his embrace. âDo you have anything in mind about what you want to eat?â
âNot really,â you answered when you stretched, reaching your arms up towards the ceiling. âAll I know is that I donât want to change, but I donât want Mildred to pick on me for these,â you told him as you pointed to the pink pajama pants you have worn the last two nights.
âHey, Mr. Stark got me those and you seemed to love them the one time you wore them so I gave them to you,â Peter explained as he sat up himself. âAnd I doubt sheâd pick on you for those. Sheâd probably say you look cute in them or something.â
âShe does think we are cute, doesnât she?â you smiled, thinking of the nice old woman downstairs. âIâm gonna miss her.â
âIâm sure sheâll miss you too,â Peter chuckled at the fast connection you had made with the woman in a matter of a few short conversations.
âWe should make this a tradition. Like every year on Valentineâs, go to a different place and explore or I would not mind coming here just so I could see Mildred and we could always get this room as a joke. I have had a lot of fun this weekend, Peter. This was a great idea,â you told him as you slipped your shoes on and Peter pulled on a dark blue sweatshirt over the hoodie he was already wearing.
âWhat would we do if we get boyfriends or girlfriends?â Peter inquired, grabbing his car keys.
âGo the weekend before or after. We will still be best friends, Parker,â you giggled at him after you put your coat on and followed him out the door.
âThere you two are! I was beginning to think yâall passed out up there,â Mildred spoke as her eyes fell upon your outfits, Peter in a sweatshirt, hoodie, and sweatpants and you in your pajama pants, a sweatshirt, and your coat. âWell did yâall just wake up?â
âNo maâam,â Peter lightly laughed. âThe rain kind of ruined our plans so we stayed in and watched movies and now weâre going to pick up something for dinner.â
âOh, thatâs nice! Yâall are just cute as a button in your pajamas. Yâall are probably starving so you two go ahead. I wonât keep you any longer,â Mildred spoke and shooed you two closer to the door. You both said your goodbyes before stepping out the door and onto the porch. Peter wrapped his arm around your shoulders, and you ducked your head into his chest before you both ran together towards his car.
âWe never decided on where to eat,â you brought up as soon as you both were in the car.
âOh yeah. What about pizza? Or burgers? Both sound really good right now,â Peter offered, his mouth practically watering before you at the thought of some food.
âEither sounds great to me.â So, he looked up which one was closer and drove to a local pizza parlor. The place was not but fifteen minutes away and since Peter called ahead as soon as you two got in the car, it was ready when you had arrived. All yâall had to do was pick it up and you did exactly that. Now, you were on the way back to the hotel and though you had a warm box of pizza resting in your lap, you were quite cold.
âAre you freezing?â you asked the driver whose brown eyes flickered to yours for a moment before finding the road again, squinting a bit to see through the heavy rain that persisted to fall.
âYeah, a little.â At the same time, you and Peter both reached for the knob that controlled the temperature of the air that flowed through the vehicle, your hands brushing against each other. Immediately, you both retracted your hands and heat rushed to your cheeks. A second later, Peter reached out again and turned the knob to the right to get some warmer air.
âUm, I think we should talk about something,â the boy announced while something in the air shifted, feeling thicker and slightly more suffocating. You kept your eyes trained ahead of you as well before you spoke up.
âUh, yeah. I guess we should.â
âSomething has definitely changed between us this weekend. We donât act like the same two best friends that we used to,â Peter mentioned, not sparing you a glance. You looked over at him to see his face, but not even his face showed you any indication of what was going through that pretty little head of his.
âYeah,â you chuckled, trying to make the conversation a little more light-hearted and less serious. You didnât see much of a big deal. Yes, you both had been clingier and you two shared a kiss, a damn good one at that, but that was to distract someone who had broken you with no remorse from coming your way. Peter, on the other hand, seemed to think there was more to this and his serious tone frightened you a tad, not really ever being so pensive about anything other than school. âI donât see an issue.â
âSo, youâre okay with cuddling and kisses and stuff like that?â The way he said that and gave you the most incredulous look made you feel as if your presence was not wanted by him. Maybe you were not wanted by him. It wouldnât be a first in your life. No, your brain fought itself, he wouldnât have planned all this for you if he didnât love you.
âWe only kissed once,â you stated while his normally soft brown eyes stared coldly through the windshield. âIâm sorry if I messed something up by doing that, but you didnât exactly fight it, Peter.â
âNo, thatâs not- never mind that kiss, but the one this morning. You kissed me on my cheek.â
âBecause you seemed upset!â your voice rose ever so slightly as you fought your point, a feeling you have never felt about Peter bubbling in your chest. It was a mixture of anger, hurt, and sadness. You were also growing annoyed with the conversation as a whole and were ready to get back to the hotel which was mere minutes away. âI didnât think there was that much to it.â
âItâs not something friends do,â Peter argued not sparing you so much as a glance or some hint as to what he was trying to get at.
âWhy do I feel like you are blaming me for how weâve gotten closer over the past few days? Youâve been acting awful cozy as well,â you tried to calm your voice a little as you spoke, but you hated being blamed for things, especially stupid things like this. âWeâre best friends, Peter. Itâs okay to be a little closer than normal. Itâs okay to cuddle, hold hands, or kiss each other on the cheek. I will admit that the kiss yesterday might have been a bit much, but all the other stuff is perfectly normal. Iâll back off if you want, but donât come at me when you have been doing the same thing and initiating it sometimes too.â
âThose are things that couples do. I have never done that with my best friends. Granted, youâre my first girl best friend that isnât terrified to touch or interact with another person, but thatâs beside the point,â Peter said as he turned into the hotel lot and found a place to park. âIâve only ever done this kinda thing with a girlfriend and we arenât dating. I couldnât date you, y/n.â
That last sentence struck a nerve in you. I couldnât date you, y/n. Why the hell not? What was so wrong with you that he couldnât date you? The words brought you back to a place you were a couple years ago when everything that made you hate today happened. You were so easily replaced by both your boyfriend and best friend. You were never really wanted around by them, and you hated yourself for not noticing sooner. Well, you did notice, but you had hope that it was all in your head until you were proved otherwise.
Was the same thing about to happen with you and Peter? Were you going to lose the only person outside of your family that you loved and spent all your time with? If he couldnât date you, then how could he be your best friend? The two things were terribly similar with the only differences being sexual intimacy and a different kind of love. Peter was your soulmate for sure, maybe not romantically, though you had hoped otherwise, but he was meant to be with you. Now he did not seem to want to be near you.
You didnât recognize it, but tears had pooled in your eyes, not yet fallen though. Your breathing felt different, quicker, and you felt like you were losing all that was important to you, him. You had always hoped that sometime in the future you and Peter would get together. You two had made a pact a while ago that if you hadnât found someone by the age of twenty-six, you two would start dating and then get married within the following year or two. That idea was now seemingly being thrown out the window since he couldnât date you.
âY/nâŚâ Peter sighed, his hand reaching out to grab yours but you were quick to pull it away.
âI thought friends didnât do that,â you threw his words right back at him before you got out, leaving the pizza in your seat and slamming the door shut behind you. Now that you were in the rain, you let your tears flow since they now just appeared to anyone else as raindrops on your face. You tried to speed walk towards the hotel for two reasons: to get away from Peter and to get out of the rain. However, the damn arachnid abilities of your best friend made him much quicker, his hand catching your arm and spinning you back to face him.
You hated yourself for the thoughts running through your mind. The rain on his face that dripped down his cheeks and nose was insanely attractive, and the water made his curls droop onto his forehead, another thing that made him look irresistible. You wanted to kiss him so badly, but how could you after the last one caused so much damage obviously since it was one of the things behind this argument.
âY/n, thatâs not what I meant,â he spoke, his honey brown eyes darted between your own. You wondered if he was thinking the same thing you were. Did he think the water droplets sliding down your face looked pretty? Did he think you were pretty? He had commented on your appearance before, saying you looked beautiful on random occasions but now it all seemed meaningless.
âWhat did you mean, Peter? How else was I supposed to take that?â you argued with the boy. You didnât care if he could tell the difference between the freshwater drops on your face and the saltwater tears because his words hurt you and he should know that.
âOf course, I could date you. I would love to date you! You are the most gorgeous girl I have ever laid eyes on and Iâm still shocked that you choose to hang out with me every day. Why do you think I made that pact about us dating when weâre older? I canât wait until then because we promised weâd get together. You do not know how much I hope you donât find someone before then because my only chance to be with you will be gone because I certainly donât have to balls to ask you out. The only reason I am telling you all of this now is because Iâm scared Iâll lose you, y/n. I canât even bear to think about that right now. I am an idiot and Iâm sorry. Iâm so sorr-â
âPeter!â you snapped, tired of hearing his rambles as you desperately wanted to feel his lips against your own.
âWhat?â he asked, brows knitted and eyes locked on yours.
âShut up and kiss me,â you repeated the words that you said before your first kiss with the boy as you watched a smile grow on his lips. His hands were quick to cup your cheeks as he brought your face to his, lips connecting and a fire ignited within you both. His left hand slid from your cheek down your shoulder and arm until he found your waist and pulled you closer to his body. You gripped onto his bicep with one hand while your other found the back of his head, your fingers running through the dampened curls. A thought immediately popped in your head and you acted on it, tugging on the strands which resulted in his lips parting. Your plan was achieved successfully, and you slipped your tongue into the entrance. He followed suit and after a little bit, you both needed a little oxygen.
âUm, wow. That was um-â Peter stumbled over his words, trying to muster up the perfect ones to say in fear of screwing up again. âNice.â You chuckled at his awkwardness, leaning your head on his forehead and looking up at him.
âYeah, I agree,â you breathed as your eyes scanned all over his features, taking in every bit of this beautiful moment. âHappy Valentineâs Day, Pete.â
âHappy Valentineâs Day, y/n,â Peter responded with a grin, happy he could make you see the holiday as a little more enjoyable for you. The sound of his stomach growling interrupted the moment, and a laugh left your lips. âIâm gonna get the pizza.â
âYou do that,â you chuckled at the hungry boy as he walked to the passenger side door, swinging it open to grab the square cardboard box. âYou know Mildred is going to kill us. Weâre out here drenched in our pajamas in the cold.â
âYeah, she definitely will,â Peter agreed while walking up the steps with you, âbut we can do it together.â He held his free hand out to you for you to take which you gladly did, interlacing your fingers with his. You got up on your tiptoes and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek as well.
âTogether.â
