I love surprising my loved ones with grand gestures (as grand as I can afford anyway) but my husband is the opposite. As soon as he has something good to share he likes to do so right away, which has spoiled a few Christmas and birthday gifts in the past. He mentioned recently that we might not be in town for Thanksgiving, and I thought that meant we'd go to New York to visit family.

THEN I GOT AN EMAIL FOR A FLIGHT RECEIPT!? I was like, that's weird, did someone steal my identity to book nice vacations? I opened it and found out he's booked us a trip to England/Scotland & Amsterdam! Poor guy didn't count on Delta letting me know that I've used my miles. Aw I love him. He's pretty.

Here's how I will be finishing off my imaginary trip to the Azores. After three nights in Ribeira Grande, I will head back to Ponta Delgada. (I'm not sure how yet.)

I was really hoping to spend at least a couple of nights, but when I checked flights to Lisbon, the cheapest flight out was on the 21st. So I went with that one. €49.17 ($71.74 CAD, $53.08 USD).

Then I found this room for only $19 CAD! That's $14 USD!

I won't be spending much time here though, as my flight is at 6:00 a.m.
