I'm talking he has an incredible duolingo streak in Spanish, is watching movies and shows and reading books

he listens to the music and watches any piece of media available just to correct his pronunciation

the day he feels ready, he starts talking to his girlfriend in Spanish and, since Sol is distracted or maybe not fully awake yet she answers normally, before registering that Isaac Da Ville has talked in Spanish

Ok so I’ve been rereading bit and pieces and this is from my favourite scene in ITBT

“ I know now very well who the man is my grandson calls Dad. And it's no wonder you could never love my Julian enough. I used to think it was Paul, but now I see it wasn't Paul you truly loved; it wasn't that Bartholomew Winslow either--it was Christopher, your brother.”

“He used to cry, saying you didn't love him enough. Always he said there was some mysterious man you loved more--and I didn't believe him then. Fool, wasn't I?”

Do you think Madame Marisha was right? I think Julian was just crazy ngl, or that she was in love with the idea of Bart sr and madame marisha just picked up on the weird vibes back then and combined that with her new knowledge about their relationship to retroactively decide Cathy was in love with only Chris from the start of Petals

Like I think she did love him but it wasn’t enough for her to stop trying to get with other men to escape him or keep rejecting him

Also can we all agree that if Julian hadn’t died he probably would have ended up killing Cathy?? Dude was psychotic honestly why did she marry him

I hate Julian as a person but I love him as a character because his emotional whiplash and victim complex is just so realistic

I kinda always felt like the point of Petals was that Cathy loved Chris and couldnt escape what they had done and what had been set in motion in the attic. So she tried to escape her feelings for chris which made her feel guilty, she was so desperate that she ran into the arms of any man who seemed open to her. So I guess i would agree that it was Chris all along who she wanted. And thats why all the men she loved before him died, as like a form of twisted fate. She was always doomed to be with chris, so any man cathy tried to use as a shield against it was struck down.

I do think Julian was just paranoid and pissy tho lol if cathy had a male dog Julian would have been jealous of him too

And yea he would have killed cathy, then held her body and cried “my love!! Who did this to you???”

So, I'm going to talk about Fall in Anvia, of ATQH fame, since that seems to be the WIP of the night. (Plus it's my most developed WIP in terms of worldbuilding.) Fall in Anvia is a really busy time of year. It's harvest season, or the end of it, and given that so much of the kingdom is centered around agriculture, there's a lot going on. Harvesting crops, selling them or sending them off to be sold, preserving perishable crops (making jams, jellies, etc.), making sure any kind of structures (barns, houses, silos, etc.) are ready for winter. But it's also a rather festive time of year. Since a lot of Anvia holidays are celebrated with food and/or dancing, there's usually large feasts, sort of a potluck style, in villages and towns as a celebration of the harvest. Also, dancing. It doesn't get super cold in Anvia ever, but it does start to cool down a bit in the fall. Longer sleeves, thicker fabrics, maybe even light a fire near the end of fall. Put blankets out on the beds, etc. Fall is one of the rainier seasons, along with spring, but it's more of light showers compared with later spring/early summer thunderstorms.

So, I suppose my favorite building in the world of ATQH is Fallon's Palace. It's pretty old, having been built over 200 years ago. However, it's been updated and redecorated over the years, so while the exterior is old, the interior is in great condition. (So is the exterior, but stone lasts a lot longer than wood and fabric.) It's very beautiful!! Large light stone, arched windows, a few towers and turrets.... It's absolutely beautiful. And combined with the fact that it overlooks the Royal Gardens, which are said to be the most beautiful on the Continent.... It's a sight to see. There's not a story behind the castle itself, at least not an interesting one. The old castle was small and falling to pieces, so they built a new one. However, the Gardens do have a story! They were built by Fallon's grandmother, Queen Maeve, as a wedding gift for her wife, Lady Adelia. They took so long to complete that they wound up being more like an anniversary present a couple years later.

what happens when a child is born? is there some kind of party and celebration or the day goes as always and it's not relevant? how are birthdays celebrated??

In Anvia, a child being born is always a cause for celebration, so long as nothing goes wrong. Usually the family is left alone for the first week or so, to allow the new parents to spend time with their child and also to adjust to their new schedule. If they're a farming family, others will help do their work for that time. After that week, friends, family, and neighbors start dropping by to meet the new child, congratulate the parents, and give any gifts they might have. (Sort of like a baby shower, but not everyone at once, and spread out over time.) Birthdays are celebrated, like most other events in Anvia, with food! Usually the birthday person gets to choose the meal, or is surprised with their favorite foods. The scale of the celebration varies. Some people just want a quiet meal with their immediate family or close friends, while others might invite the whole village. It's all up to the birthday person.

People traditionally give gifts around the Winter Solstice, which is celebrated along with the summer one. It's in the winter of course, so it's a bit like our Christmas, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere. Colder temps, maybe snow. Cozy time around the fireplace with warm drinks and your loved ones. There is no one traditional gift, and generally any gift with thought behind it is seen as a good gift. What might be a bad gift to one person or family might be a great one to another. So, basically, the value of the gift is judged by the receiver. Since it is in the winter though, people tend to give gifts that can be used during winter. Knitted shawls and blankets, for example. Canned fruits or jam. If you're on the wealthier side, perhaps nice liquor or cards or board games or books. NOTE: that was all just about Anvia, as it would be a novel on its own to talk about winter in all three kingdoms.

In Anvia by far the most common profession is a farmer. Usually small-scale, producing largely for yourself and your family, and sellng any excess products locally. In terms of more lucrative careers, there's a large range of craftspeople and artisans in the larger cities. Exactly what kind of work they do or training they take varies from person to person, but some examples include tailors, shoemakers, leatherworkers, etc.

talking about studies, how far can a person go in terms of study achievements? are there an equivalent to Doctors or university careers? or is basic education the maximum?

For most people in Anvia, they get a basic education in their home town, often from their parents or a community member. In larger, wealthier cities, there may be an organized school, but that's not the norm. Literacy is very common, and so is basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), for the most part. Additional knowledge, particularly more specific career-based knowledge, such as artisan work or healing, is usually gained via apprenticeships. Noble families may hire tutors for their children, particularly in things such as music or arts. Universities do not exist, as there are no careers that truly require them. Most careers are more based on practical knowledge and experience, and sitting in a classroom would not be half as helpful as hand-on experience. In general, the people of Anvia are well-educated, but large educational institutions don't exist.

Not a nursery rhyme, per se, but I did decide a long time ago that some variation of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" exists in Anvia. Fallon's mother sang it to her as a child, and that's not uncommon. The lyrics fit with Anvia's history, specifically the war against Oryn over a century ago. In my world, the song originated from there, and has remained a part of the culture.

Hi Queen! I'm good! Luckily we are still not on exam season yet so my profs are relaxed and so are we (more or less). Because of that I'm leaving to Germany tomorrow and coming back on Monday!

So, aside from Lawson Da Ville, also known as the last free mage to have Arcane Magic, here are some historical figures as well as modern celebrities:

Aoki Hiramitsu: a samurai in the Edo era that was popular for having a magical connection to his katanas.

Liseli: A Zuni woman that fought against the spanish conquers. She is the first record of native american natural magic and has lead into a lot of investigations and papers because it seems to be more ancient than usual magic.

Dewey Sawyer: one of the most powerful mages of the modern world, who served in wwii and healed loads of soldiers for the brits and the french armies.

Carlota Ferrero: remembered for being one of the most famous tennis players with sports magic.

Merve Avni: one of the biggest celebrities nowadays. counts with her own tv show where she gives interviews and is remembered for using her magic (telekhinesis) to protest against womens rights to a higher education.

     It wasn’t an easy decision. At least, not the easiest. There was a lot of arguing over where they would go at first. Alecto had originally tried to convince Amycus to go somewhere in the middle of nowhere, perhaps some small town in Eastern Europe, but his incessant pouting and insistence upon going somewhere warm finally wore her down enough to agree-- and once they got there, she was glad they did. 

     Being on the run wasn’t so bad. In fact, it felt like it was what they were meant to do. They had tried to stay at home for a while, attempting to see the chaos through, but with a new friend of theirs being arrested every day they didn’t want to wait around anymore and take their chances. Azkaban wasn’t an option. So, the twins packed their things, left their home, and eventually found themselves hopping from country to country in South America.

     Their most recent stop was Venezuela. While Alecto originally missed the gloom of England, the liveliness of South America was quickly growing on her. There was so much going on, so much to do, that it was easy enough for them to blend in and make themselves at home wherever they went. It was like a reward for all the hard work they’d done.

     Alecto lifted her head, still with one nostril plugged as she sniffed up yet another line of cocaine. While she hated all things muggle-related, she certainly enjoyed their drugs. She carefully slid the tray over to her brother, already having cut him a few lines. “Let’s go to that party by the beach tonight,” she suggested with a grin, standing up from her chair and standing behind her brother’s. The woman who had invited them seemed to direct the invitation mostly at Amycus, seeing as she’d been flirting with him throughout the entirety of the short conversation they had. Alecto placed her hands on his shoulders, leaning down to kiss his neck. “I want to dance--” another kiss, closer to his ear this time-- “and I want to spend some quality time with that bitch who invited us.”
