on one hand i also like that its not called wasteland anymore.

there's a billion things already wrong with sort of putting Every Brown People Culture(tm) into a single nation and calling it a wasteland.

on the other hand, I'm not super fond of the sort of Noble Savage archetype through the name "Terra Alliance"

Plenty of people do a sort of thing where "foreign" (to them) or brown or indigenous cultures are considered More Magical, Mysterious, and Connected To The Land than other people, creating this almost dehumanizing exotification while simultaneously wanting to sever cultural ties via assimilation or dismissing them/us as just silly stupid people with no "real" science or medicine.

I dont remember which chapter it was but in SN (maybe an Event, I dont recall) there were Wasteland sets revolving around gods and despite Miraland having Actual Literal Gods, Elves, Demons, Fairies, Mermaids, and Magic, the people of Wasteland were dismissed as just having silly superstitions about fake gods and fake prophecies and "weird" magic like *squints* tarot reading.

it may not be As bad as just straight up calling it Wasteland but I'm squinting at them for calling it Terra Alliance

also, as @grandwretch pointed out (i didnt even hear it the first time oh my god...)

im not going to hold my breath for Terra Alliance being any less Problematique than Wasteland tbh

Historical Mermay prompt 5: Italian Renaissance Mermaid

You would not believe the amount of trouble the colors gave me on this one. I went through so many color palettes before I decided this was the strongest “renaissance” palette. Which makes sense since it borrows colors from ‘The Birth of Venus’. And of course the bodice and sleeves reference fashion of the time.
