A little couple's trivia with Nanami proves that he knows you all too well.
I did use the term wife and she/her pronouns just as a brief cw. The whole thing is just fluff. Nanami is in love with you. That's the whole things.
(I am delulu and in love with this man. Hope this helps us all heal. He is alive and well and no one can convince me otherwise. Also I love including Gojo's dumbass in everything. Also Yuji is a sweetheart and Nanami's son basically.)
Tumblr media
"Please?" You're practically begging your husband, who doesn't seem to be budging.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Yeah Nanamin-"
"Don't call me that." Nanami cuts Gojo off immediately.
"But Yuji calls you that!"
"That's different." He glares at the white haired man like he's trying to eviscerate him with just his eyes. "And I'm not playing some stupid game just to prove how well I know my wife." He tries to pay attention to the paperwork in front of him again, wanting to finish it before 5pm. Because there was no way he was working overtime again today.
"Scared?" Gojo baited him. "Afraid I'm gonna ask you a question that's just too hard?"
"Gojo, there is nothing you could ask me about my wife that I wouldn't be able to answer."
A few of the students sat around watching the two go back and forth, inevitably waiting for Nanami to either get so annoyed that he walked away, or to take the bait. They hoped for the latter.
"Prove it! Or you forfeit your marriage."
"That's not how that works."
"C'mon Nanamin, it's just a game." Yuji gives the blonde sorcerer a sincere smile, hoping to lighten the mood and sway his decision just a bit.
"Don't call him Nanamin, Yuji- OW." Gojo is cut off as Nanami reaches over and smacks him in the head with the papers in his hand.
"Don't tell him what to do." Nanami sighs and rubs at his temple. He looks at the clock, then at you. It's the look in your eyes that gives way to his final decision. "Fine. You have until that clock reads 5, and then I'm taking my wife and we're going home."
Gojo wastes no time. "Who is your wife's favorite person? And think before you say yourself because-"
"Itadori. Next question."
"I'm your favorite person?!" Yuji jumps from his seat, latching his arms around you for a hug. It's obvious from the way that you smile and hug him back that Nanami is probably definitely right. You had a soft spot for the kid since you met him, playfully telling everyone that you and Nanami had basically adopted him since he arrived at Jujutsu High. Nanami would probably never verbalize it, but you could tell he felt the same about the boy.
"Ok, ok. Next question." Gojo thought hard before coming up with it. "How does your wife take her coffee?"
"She doesn't drink coffee."
"Yes she does, I bring her some like every morning."
"And she gives that coffee to me because she doesn't like it."
"You're telling me I've been buying you coffee this entire time?"
"I make her tea every morning when we get to work. You hand her the coffee, we trade cups. I don't understand how you've stared right at us when we do it and you somehow haven't noticed."
"Ok, then what tea does she drink?"
"Earl Grey, three sugars, a little bit of milk at the top. She'll say she's ok with English Breakfast or Lady Earl Grey if they're out of the regular. She's not, she's just being polite. She'll drink half and throw it away when she thinks no one is looking."
Gojo groans, not having as much fun as he thought he was going to at the beginning of all of this. "And I just bet you have a contingency plan for when your wife doesn't get her tea, don't you?"
"Of course I do," he ignores the even louder groan from Gojo, "I walk across the street to the cafe that sells her favorite pastries and I buy her five because I know that she'll want to share with her students and she'll try to split one with me even if I refuse. They have teabags they leave out so long as you're ordering something. Earl Grey, always in stock."
"Adorable." Gojo rolls his eyes.
"You're so smart, Nanamin!" Yuji jumps in. "Let me ask one! What's her favorite color?"
"Yuji, that's too easy."
"Yellow."
"Ohhhh, mine too," Yuji says, "why yellow?"
"Because it's-" Nanami stops mid-sentence and looks at the clock, like it will give him an excuse. Almost. "We don't need to worry about the why, that wasn't the original question."
Gojo perks up, clearly realizing he'd struck a nerve. And he was ready to work it. The red dusting across Nanami's cheeks told him everything he needed to know. "Are you embarrassed, Nanami?"
"Shut up, Gojo."
"Or do you just not know the answer? It's ok if you don't, I guess you just don't know your wife as well as you thought you did."
"If you don't stop talking, I'm going to tell everyone about the one time in high school when you and Geto got caught in the-"
"OK!" Gojo turns back to the students and motions them toward the door. "Time to go! Don't you all have something better to do? Go be little trouble makers somewhere. Go TP Yaga's lawn or something. Get out of here."
He'd ushered everyone out except Yuji, who stayed behind to wait for you and Nanami. The boy shyly looked away as you kissed Nanami's cheek before standing up, stating you just needed to grab your bag before you could leave.
Yuji waited for you to exit the room before he asked. "Is it because of your hair?"
Nanami sighs. "What makes you think that?"
Yuji just shrugs. "She loves you. Answers don't always need a complex reason."
Nanami can't help the smile that graces his face. "You're a smart kid sometimes, you know that?"
"That's why I'm her favorite!" His goofy nature is back in an instant. "Can I come over for dinner again tonight?"
"Of course you can."
"Can I stay over?"
"If you'd like to."
"Can I pick the movie we watch?"
"Don't push your luck."

The sudden earthquake is… not entirely unexpected, in retrospect, although it’s certainly overkill. Suguru knows that Satoru has a flair for the dramatic, and Shiki is always eager to join her brother’s chaotic schemes. Without a voice of reason around to run herd on them, those tendencies of theirs are probably even worse in this world.
… In this world where Geto Suguru is dead, killed as a curse user intent on committing mass slaughter. He still has trouble imagining what his alternate self was thinking, honestly. Sorcerers are only a minuscule portion of the entire population; what did he think would actually happen if he’d somehow managed to succeed in basically wiping out humanity?
Utterly inconceivable.
“That was Gojo-sensei, right?” Itadori’s voice sounds from behind one of the makeshift barricades. The Itadori in this world is a little more jaded and solemn than the cheerful first year student that Suguru remembers, which is… saddening. But then, considering the boy’s experiences –Yoshino dying, Satoru and Shiki being sealed, Nanami dying, Kugisaki in a coma, Sukuna using his body to kill and kill and kill in Shibuya… and, more recently, Sukuna switching to Fushiguro as his new host…
It’s a miracle that the boy hasn’t broken beneath the pressures and horrors of everything that’s happened since he became a sorcerer. He’s a strong, resilient boy, although Suguru dearly wishes that he hadn’t been tested in this way.
“Seems about right for Gojo,” Tsukumo responds. The tall woman stands up, brushing off dust from her hands. There’s a large scar down her midsection, courtesy of the fight against ‘Kenjaku,’ but between three Special Grades, they’d been able to win decisively, even though the slippery man had managed to escape at the end. “Can’t imagine it being anyone else.”
Boy had it been weird, fighting ‘himself.’ The memory of the fight is enough to make Suguru cringe. He knows that it’s not actually ‘him,’ but seeing his body being saying those sorts of things and making those expressions…
If Suguru’s Satoru or Shiki had been here to see it, they’d never let him live it down, gods.
“Thank you for unsealing Gojo-sensei,” Okkotsu nods towards the angel-winged girl drifting down from the sky. Kurusu smiles, making an ‘okay’ sign with her fingers. “… Where is he, though? And that earthquake just now, too… is he–”
Suguru’s head snaps up; Tsukumo looks up, too, half a beat behind him.
“He’s here.”
Satoru’s teleportation is a thing to behold. One instant, there’s nothing in the air above them, then in the blink of an eye, he’s standing there. Prison Realm clearly hasn’t been kind to him and Shiki. Satoru is definitely looking a little ragged, and his clothes are significantly tattered. But despite that, he looks down upon them with glowing eyes, calm and confident–
A single blink. His composure wavers, and breaks.
Then, he’s standing right in front of Suguru. The suddenness of the motion causes the dimension-hopper to startle, taking half a step backwards–
“… Suguru?” Satoru –and there’s no doubt that this is all Satoru, even if he’s not Suguru’s Satoru– frowns. His Six Eyes gleam, sharp and analyzing. “No. You are, but you’re still not…”
“Bit of a long story,” Tsukumo cuts in. “In short, this is Geto Suguru from another world parallel to ours, where he decided to go the path of teaching like you did instead of bloody revolution.”
“Can you please not put it that way?” Suguru rubs a hand against his forehead, distinctly pained.
“What? I think that summary explains things pretty well. Right, Gojo?”
Satoru hums, straightening up with a thoughtful sound. “Huh… from another world, you say?”
“Sensei!”
“Sensei!”
The students finally catch up to them, swarming around Gojo-sensei like excited puppies. It warms something inside Suguru’s chest to see them like this –the students of this world are (understandably) wary of him, given his alternate self’s actions, but it’s clear that they care for and trust their Gojo-sensei.
He’s not surprised, when Satoru pulls him aside for a private chat, eventually. If the relationship that he and his sister had had with their Suguru was anything like what he had with them back in his world…
No, Suguru definitely isn’t surprised.
It’s also a good chance for him to ask his own questions, because this confusion has been gnawing at him for a long time. “How did Kenjaku get the drop on you, with Shiki watching your back?”
The familiar-unfamiliar man tilts his head. His lips move, forming a single question that makes Suguru’s blood run cold.
“Who’s Shiki?”

It Had To Be You Masterlist
Tumblr media
He was livid, body seething with rage as he paced back and forth in his office.
It made sense to reduce workforce and implement layoffs, that much he had known. He also knew you were someone who would take that in stride. It was just business, this happened to corporations all the time.
He never thought you of all people would be part of those layoffs. For what reason? You were marvelous at your job.
Something had happened. The hurt in your eyes was more than enough to show that.
He had an inkling of who it could have been.
Jin Itadori would never. He was truly his son’s father, capable of running a cut-throat business but never harboring a malicious bone in his body. So it had to have been someone else on the board of higherups.
Maybe it was Gakuganji. An old man that always hung in the background during board meetings, face leathery and eyes low and set in stone as he barely communicated but executed the harshest decisions through others. Gojo despised him. Nanami always held a high regard for rules and authority but the board were filled with people that made his skin crawl.
Especially Gakuganji. It could have been him.
Or Mahito. He was new and far too young for the amount of power he had but capable of devious things that would upset you.
The thought of what could have happened, if Mahito was in the room, made his stomach churn.
You weren’t answering his calls or texts as the first hour of you walking out of his office had neared his mark.
He was familiar with your anger, knew the way your eyebrows pinched together in frustration like the back of his hand. It had only taken him that first week when he met you, but he could detect the slight agitation in your voice when it clipped the edges of your sentences. From every glare you had sent his way, every snide remark, every smirk of dominance when you had caught him on his toes, he knew you.
But the look on your face as you tried to yank his door open, eyes filled with tears, voice tight and heavy with disappointment, he felt something he was still trying to put together.
A strange sense of protection, to find whoever was responsible for making you less jovial, less determined, less willing to laugh into the air like he was used to.
Gojo had waltzed into his office only minutes after you stormed out, determined to spend the rest of his day teasing Nanami before he saw the look on his friend’s face. Nanami, while normally not a very outspoken man, had told Gojo the entire conversation, barely containing the rage in his voice.
Gojo had placated him briefly, before disappearing to find Omelia because he knew the minute she got wind of what happened, she would burn the place to the ground with everyone inside.
Still no response from you, his latest message simply left on read. It made him growl softly under his breath as he shoved his phone back into his pocket.
He was trying.
Nanami was rarely wrong, especially when it came to his work and the character of others. But he was wrong about you to a degree that made him nervous to be around you. And a little ashamed. He had belittled you to the point of despair, highlighting your weakness of wanting to prove yourself to others. If it were anyone else, they would have regarded Nanami as a stiff rod that was unwilling to bend and would simply keep their distance, never thinking more about his disagreeing nature and simply moving on to something else that didn’t involve him.
To others, his behavior may have even been a small lesson to not pry where things were doing just fine. To not rock the boat if the waters were already steady.
But not you.
He could tell there was something deeper when it came to you.
You worked hard to make yourself be seen and despite what he may have told you, your work was exemplary. And yet the very company you gave your all for had walked over you and kept you stagnant.
It was your courage, your intelligence, your ability to never stop until others saw reason, always pushing, always challenging. It was maddening to him, but he couldn’t imagine anyone else pushing back against the system and showing people like Yuji to never fall into step with others if there was no need to.
His reasoning for keeping you away had begun to crumble the minute he met you, slipping through the cracks of the wall he had pushed out to others who walked into his office with the same mentality time and time again and always having an ulterior motive.
The moment you snapped at him in his office during the summit, asserting your dominance and sneering at him, he knew that you would be in his mind forever. Pestering, pushing, worming your way into every decision he usually made in the office even when you were 4 hours away in Sendai.
But he caused you all of this pain and for what? Because he was embarrassed, and he had let his kindness with others get the better of him? Allowed just one person to take advantage and steal the hard work of the pink-haired boy that looked up to him? He couldn’t bear to see Yuji so upset again, couldn’t bear to acknowledge the guilt of letting his guard down.
He knew you were different.
Nanami rarely entertained the thoughts of others but you oozed intelligence and beauty in a way that made the entire office incline their heads towards you, always wanting to listen. Back then, he had hated so much of the situation the universe had put him in. He hated how much you challenged him, hated the way the sound of your laugh made his skin prickle when Gojo told you a harmless joke, hated the way your unusual curls escaped the frame of your professional bun when you were walking down a hall. He hated how attracted he was to you. If it were anyone else, he could have thrown an offhand comment about staying in their place and be none the wiser.
But it had to be you. It had to be someone that pulled him in and reciprocated the intense lust he had failed to keep under control with his snide remarks. It had to be you that he fell into bed with. Of all the people he had slept with, double layered with birth control and a condom, youwere the one who got the rotten luck.
It had to be you.
And he had gone too far, said something to you that he didn’t mean and felt the sting of your hand on his face before letting him know sadly that he would be a father.
Haibara had talked some sense in him, made him feel small and pathetic, and he deserved every bit of it. If his mother knew any other details, she would pull him by his ear, drag him to your doorstep and then tear through him with words that would probably make him afraid to leave his own house.
So when he finally swallowed his pride and guilt, when he finally admitted to himself that he had overstepped, he vowed to make it right with you. Especially with a baby on the way.
You were worth it. In every way, were you worth it.
He just needed you to pick up the phone.
The commotion from outside his door made him pause, one voice hushed and the other seething.
“Ome, he’s in a meeting. Come on!” Gojo sounded desperate, his voice serious for once.
“Lie to me again Gojo and I’ll really choke you out. Get out of my way you blue eyed albino fucker, I swear to god I’ll beat the shit out of you.”
She was livid. He should have known it was coming. And the minute his office door opened, and she twisted at Gojo’s hand to make him move, Nanami immediately prayed that someone above was listening.
Gojo whimpered, pulling away from her to grip his hand, his eyes pained even if they held a tinge of lust to them.
Why did he have to be such a freak?
Nanami opened his mouth to speak.
“Omelia, you don’t need to hurt him—”
She whipped her face from Gojo to glare at the source of words. Her silver eyes were shining, an odd contrast against her chocolate skin that made her seem almost alien.
“I’m sorry? I don’t recall saying you could speak.” Nanami tried to protest and her eyes flared again. “Shut. Up.” Her shoulders were moving deeply with her heavy breaths, her body radiating a protective anger that a mother would have for her child.
“I’m not going go into detail and try to placate you and ask ‘oh my what happened?’ or ‘I wonder who could have done this?’ Because none of that matters. Whether you were indirectly responsible or not, you still hold some fault. You disregarded her ideas at every opportunity and in every meeting. Did you honestly not think the higherups wouldn’t be paying attention??”
“I didn’t—”
“I said shut up!”
Her raspy voice cracked on the edges, the timbre making even Gojo widen his eyes slightly in shock.
“Y/n has worked so fucking hard. She’s spent years at this company doing what she could to make things better and she’s fucking good at it. She’s spent her entire life being told that she holds no value unless she’s the best at what she does. But she adored you, thought that if anyone could see just how hard she was working…if anyone could give her the experience she needed to make something of herself, it would be you. To her, you were the best at what you did. Asked the best questions, fostered the most intense conversations, compiled the most detailed reports. She always had a little crush on you. Clearly, I don’t see it, but go off I guess.”
She pulled in a large breath, her anger slowly receding, giving way to exhaustion.
“Gojo told me why you act the way you do. He told me about what happened to Yuji and I understand your response, truly I do. But y/n was different, and even you can’t deny that.”
Nanami swallowed, a large bulge of bile sliding back down his throat and sitting uncomfortably in his belly.
“She may not directly blame you, but she might realize that even your actions put her on the radar of the higherups. And they used her skills one last time, took what they needed, and then tossed her away. That’s going to hurt her, and she’s going to blame you and everyone for a very long time. That last time you hurt her; I gave you a chance because I knew it was the right thing to do. But not this time.”
She pointed a finger in his direction, her relaxed gaze beginning to boil over with rage again, silver eyes gleaming.
“Do you want to be in her life?”
“I do.” He answered it before she could even finish, his tone resolute and without question. She studied him sternly, picking at his skin with her gaze, tearing through the cracks and staring right into the guts. “Please understand that I do.”
“I don’t need to understand shit. She does. She has one parent in her life and that person could hardly be called a mother. I don’t want her child to only have one parent as well. That’s the only reason I’m talking to you. I’m not interfering anymore. You’re going to work for it Nanami. In every sense of the word. I don’t care how long it takes. I don’t care who you need to call, what you have to do or say. Grovel if you have to. Get down on your hands and knees and show her that you’re worth it. Fix. This. Now.”
Even Gojo swallowed loudly, his tall body glued in the crevices of his chair. Nanami hadn’t given away any other expression, but internally his blood was ice cold. Omelia was a force to be reckoned with.
“I will. I promise, I will.”
Omelia lowered her finger, her face still angry but her eyes seeming to accept his response.
“And if you ever. Ever. Hurt her again, there won’t be a place you’ll be able to hide. It wont take me long to find you. I’ll do whatever I can to protect her and I’ll make sure that you will have wished you never spoken to her in the first place.”
Nanami didn’t respond, his shoulders stiff, stomach coiling in unease and a slight twinge of fear through the overwhelming mass of respect that he held for the woman in front of him. You seemed to only attract people around you who radiated confidence, intelligence, and protection without even knowing it. A kind and hard working person surrounded by equally hard working people who saw your worth and personality and would do anything to keep it from being damaged.
His actions only made him feel more and more like a fool.
Omelia didn’t offer anything else, choosing instead to smooth down her grey dress before turning around and walking briskly from the room, the office door shutting closed behind her.
Everything was quiet for a few moments, Nanami still rooted to the floor, head throbbing in guilt and despair.
Gojo was still in his chair, hands on the armrests and clutching the wood before he sighed (forlornly?) and sagged into the seat.
“God she’s fucking amazing isn’t she Nanamin?”
“Get out.”
It took two weeks and hitting your 14th week to finally grow tired of Ome’s hovering. She was the best of course, in every sense of the word. But she was constantly doting; making sure you were eating, going on walks to get you out of the house, staying late with you so you wouldn’t feel so alone.
But after a while, you needed some peace and going to Yoyogi to be with Rory who was quiet and unimposing was the best choice.
It wasn’t as if you were unhappy with the attention. If anything, it made you feel warm to see messages from everyone.
Satoru Gojo: Is Ome there? Show her this meme and describe her face in detail as she reads it. Oh and yes, hello. I miss you, how is my godchild?
1 New Voicemail: Yuji Itadori
Yuji Itadori: Y/n! I left you a voicemail to tell you all about my day so you can rest! I miss you! Nanamin is more quiet than usual but he swears I don’t notice.
Geto Suguru: Hope you’re doing well. I mailed you some goodies that I hope you’ll like :)
Ieiri Shoko: Hi sweetie! I miss you! Nanami wont stop moping, would you like me to key his car? I need something to do.
Kento Nanami: My messages are going through so I know you have yet to block me. Please call me.
Kento Nanami: At least make sure you’re eating enough protein. And monitor your calcium, its low in the second trimester.
“It may be best if you just answer him, honey.”
It was the second time Rory had muttered the sentence in your ear that afternoon as he hovered over you in the studio.
“My hands are a little busy actually.”
And they were, helping a child smooth the edges of clay on her small pottery wheel. It wasn’t as fast as a more ideal piece of equipment. But it was still a wheel built for children and beginners. The girl held her wet hands beneath yours, using them as a guide to fashion what should have been a cup but may just be a bowl at this point. She had to have been no older than three, maybe even four, but her personality made her years older. Dark brown hair pulled up in a high ponytail, hazel eyes filled with wonder and curiosity, and never ending with questions.
Being in Rory’s studio took your mind off things, made you feel just a little more important to someone. You had offered to help him with a few classes just to keep your mind busy.
And if that was in the eyes of children in their beginners throwing class then you would take it. Being able to watch them use their imagination gave you a pry into their minds just a little, made you feel like you could see your own child doing the same.
“You never let me do it on my own!” She protested softly even though her eyes were focused on the clay in front of her, eyebrows pinched.
“You smushed the last one when I left you alone, Aiko. If you want this to be a cup then you should let me help you.”
She grumbled beneath her breath, a small but serious noise that made you chuckle against her back.
“At least let me control one side.”
You conceded quietly, removing one of your hands from hers and watching with a small amount of joy as she smiled.
Your phone buzzed again, pushing a grimace on your face.
“You should answer that.” Her voice was matter of fact, face still focused on your work. “Is it your boyfriend?”
“Absolutely not.”
“You guys fighting? When Mommy is mad at Daddy, he gets really sad. Uncle Ken always teases him about it.” You hummed against her, content to let her ramble as you brought a wooden rib to the side of her cup (bowl?). “Daddy always teases Uncle Ken though, he’s got a crush on someone. Wont tell me who it is but I guess she’s pretty. Uncle Ken is always talking about her, its pretty funny—”
“Aiko, please let Miss l/n rest.” The familiar voice of Yu Haibara echoed over your shoulder before he walked to sit in an empty chair across from you both. He was a familiar face the past week of bringing his daughter to lessons. He smiled up at you softly, bright eyes slightly weary from a long day of work. “I apologize. She loves her Uncle Ken far more than me. Though I cant blame her.”
“That’s not true, Daddy. I love you both. But Uncle Ken tells the best jokes.”
She pulled her hands away, letting you run a wet sponge along the sides to remoisten before moving her hands back. Your phone buzzed again and Aiko chuckled.
“Nanami usually isn’t persistent in anyone unless they are important to him.”
Your gaze darted up to his, eyes wide and surprised. He only reflected a small sense of mirth, eyes happy if a little concerned. Even though he was playing along, his gaze held a firm sense of seriousness that even his daughter couldn’t detect. You offered him a small smile to placate him before looking back down at your current task.
“You know him?”
“I do. Little over 15 years. He tells me everything, if you can believe that.”
You couldn’t.
“And I suppose you’re here to defend his honor?” You guided Aiko’s hand along the curve of the clay, smiling at her amazement as it gave under the pressure.
“Not really. He knows what he needs to do. He deserves your wrath more than anything.”
You took a slow breath, the anxiety spiking in your body, smoothing along your veins and once again wreaking havoc on your life. You were mad at everyone. Nanami, Jin, the entire company you poured your life to, your fucking self. And it was doing nothing but making you worry more, sweat randomly with the thought of ‘what do I do now?’ You felt worthless, so absolutely worthless and you knew deep down it was your upbringing.
But it didn’t make the thoughts and emotions go away.
It only made everything too intense, too stressful, too fucking loud.
You own mother had yet to know about your recent change in employment and once she found out it would probably be the only conversation you both had with each other in a while.
“Miss l/n, your hands are shaking!”
Her voice pulled you out of your thoughts and back down to your hands that were trembling minutely and cradling Aiko’s. You steadied them, offering a small smile behind her that she couldn’t see.
“He won’t tell me what’s going on, but Gojo has been heavily involved and I barely see him willingly help anyone. Nanami hardly respects him so this speaks volumes. Whatever happened…I hope you forgive him. He asked me to join him for a run this morning and I almost smacked him. He knows that I hate running so I imagine the delirium has set in.”
That pulled a chuckle from you, earning an equally charming smile from Yu as well. He was a kind man, truly incapable of any evil. And to have a child like Aiko, definitely spoke to his character.
“How have you two been friends for this long?” You came to a stop with Aiko’s creation, using a wire to cut along the bottom and slide the cup onto a slab for drying. Aiko hopped up to wash her hands, disappearing from you both.
Yu smiled, watching you idly clean.
“It’s always been hard to explain. But I think we just pushed each other growing up and once his little wall of seriousness fell around me, I saw him for who he really was. And he’s a really good man that not a lot of people deserve. A man that took his own personal ideals too far and hurt you in the process. I’m no person who will rush anyone. But…I think he’d like to talk to you if you let him. Plus I want to see him grovel, it will make great memories.”
Aiko rushed back just in time, prompting her father to pull her into his lap before he kissed her cheek.
In the back of your mind you knew Yu was right and you were talking with Rory about it on the drive home until you fell silent completely, a familiar and unwelcome car parked in your uncle’s driveway.
She never came to visit. Not even for holidays or even her brother’s birthday.
But your mother’s silver Sedan was unmistakable through the car window, her own stiff form leaning against it.
“Do you want to stay in the car?” Rory’s voice was calm even though your heart was soaring in your chest, reawakening anxiety you had been battling since you’d been laid off. You shook your head, choosing to step out with him, the cold air hitting your cheeks as your mother’s icy stare hit you both.
“What are you doing here, Naveah?”
You mother scoffed, short dark curls bouncing in the air as she glared at her brother.
“I’ve come to take my daughter home. Clearly I care more about her wellbeing than you.”
You felt you heart roll in your chest, a sense of unease brushing under your skin, an odd tightening in your lower abdomen.
“Mom, I’m fine here—”
“I heard you were fired. And I won’t let my only child be unemployed and endanger her future and embarrass herself any longer.”
The pain from her words were sharp, biting and cutting at your stomach and pulling an odd lurch of pain that made you startle slightly. Her gaze was cold, distant as always, her words only thinking of herself and coated in a thin layer of false care.
“Mom. That’s enough. I’m a grown woman, I have a baby on the way and I can make my own decisions.”
“Clearly not since you’ve managed to waste years of hard work with nothing more than a lousy severance pay and a baby from a coworker you hardly know.”
The sharp pain returned again, harder and forcing you to cradle your stomach, right beneath the small bump of what was 14 weeks of growing life. You shook out a shaky breath, Rory and your mother’s arguing falling into the background. The anxiety was incessant now, squeezing at your throat. You swallowed harshly and glared at her.
“Mom that’s enough. You need to leave. I’ll make my own decisions. Live the life I want. Do what I want to do.” You shook out another uneasy breath, Rory’s eyes filling with alarm as he studied you. “Please go.”
“And do what? Sit back and watch as the only one in this family who has shown promise will resign herself to playing with mud and paint?!” Another stab, sharp again coupled with an odd pulling sensation along what felt like your uterus making itself known even more. Your heart was racing in your chest, pumping stress and anxiety throughout your body, your neck breaking into a sweat. “Years of disappointment! For once, do something you’re good at and make it worth—”
“Stop it!” The yell was harsh and cruel as it shouted from your throat. Both of your hands cradling the small bump of your baby. Barely enough to raise skin, but enough for you to notice. “You need to—” You doubled over, wincing harshly and pulling into yourself as another sharp stab hit your stomach. Rory was by you in an instant, holding you close and asking questions you couldn’t hear through the pounding in your ears. You opened your mouth to speak again before shaking out a cry instead, the pavement touching your knees as you slouched to the ground.
“I’m right here with her Ome. Yes, she’s awake, breathing, everything I promise. By the time you get here by train she will be discharged so please stay in Sendai. I’ll keep you updated.”
The stale lights of your hospital room only made you feel like a fish out of water.
As soon as Rory cussed out his sister and threatened to call the cops so she could leave, you both made it to the hospital and he guided you inside where you were whisked away to be poked and prodded. People staring too hard at your skin, pulling at your hair as if it were an accident, disregarding your pain level because you looked different and therefore felt pain differently.
You were barely holding on, wanting so bad to go home and cry into your pillows. Rory was doing his best, practically tearing down the door from the waiting room to get back to you and not leaving your side ever since.
But there was something missing that you couldn’t quite place, and not knowing what that was only made you more uneasy.
You had denied painkillers, their treatment of you had completely evaporated your trust and made you overprotective of the baby. But the more the stress rose in you, the more you doubled over in pain, scared and edgy and desperately seeking for someone to just hold you. Rory had done it all night but it wasn’t enough, it wasn’t what you wanted.
“Let me through or I’ll tear this waiting room apart.”
Just the sound of his voice had your heart fluttering to a degree you hadn’t felt in a while. All sense of commotion seemed to stop as you watched him rush into the room. His hair was down again, ungelled and loose around his eyes that were slightly heavy and dark from lack of sleep. The grey hoodie and sweatpants were hastily thrown on, just like the last time he had rushed to you.
“Hi.”
The moment the word left your lips, heavy and cracking, he was by your side immediately, sinking into a chair and pulling it close to you.
“What’s happened?” His hands were hovering, desperately wanting to touch you but afraid of crossing another line. “Tell me. Please.”
You bit your lip, trying so hard to stop the tears from building in your eyes. You wanted so bad to be in control of things. But the constant pain, the fear of not knowing what was happening to your baby, the words from your mother, it was all getting too much and too fast.
“I’m cramping really bad. My mother—well I don’t know but it won’t stop.”
Nanami eyes filled with something you couldn’t place, flickering up to your uncle.
“Have they not given her something for the pain?”
You shook out a sigh, shaking your head and pulling his attention back to you. The stinging in your eyes boiled beneath your skin, your vision blurring against your will.
“I don’t want them to touch me.” He looked confused but didn’t respond. “They keep poking and prodding, telling me that my pain shouldn’t be this high. Pulling at my hair, staring. I cant—I don’t trust them. I’m not a fucking experiment.” You couldn’t stop the tears that spilled over, your last ounce of control slowly beginning to slip from your fingers.
“My baby isn’t an—”
“Hey.” His voice was soft but firm and unrelenting as he took one of your hands in his. They were so much larger than yours but so warm, so very warm and unyielding and grounding you in a moment where you felt like you were drowning. You could feel the slight tremor in his hands from the rage, his eyes filled with a malice that scared even you. He wanted to wreak havoc, find the people responsible and strangle them with his bare hands.
“I won’t let them touch you. I’ll go call Dr. Reynolds and we will go from there okay?” You nodded frantically, uncaring of the tears now as you tried to navigate through your emotions.
Rory interjected, smoothing your curls back before smiling down at you.
“I’ll call her. Stay here with her, Nanami.”
When your uncle was out of the room and the door was closed, the only other sounds were the clock on the wall and the occasional car passing outside the window. Nanami’s hands hadn’t left yours, both clasped around your one, a thumb stroking the outside of your palm. Nanami opened his mouth to speak, full lips hesitating.
“What triggered this?”
You shrugged, taking a small sniff as the tears continued to fall. “I don’t know. My mom just…showed up at my uncle’s house and she—she said from really hurtful things and I think it was the stress. Between her…and being fired…the disappointment in myself…I don’t know. I’m not surprised this is happening to me.”
He squeezed your hand, his eyes flashing with frustration.
“How many times do I have to tell you to stop saying things that do not make sense? I don’t know who your mother is as a person, but she’s made you feel like someone that is not worth anything when that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s going to take a long time for you to want to let me in. I also have no right to ask this of you but I’m begging, please let me be involved more. I can’t bear to have something like this happen again and I’m not there to help you.”
You sniffed pitifully, wiping away your messy face with your free hand before resting your cheek against your pillow, all anxiety leaving as he looked at you with a leveled gaze.
“You’re more levelheaded than Ome in this situation. The smallest hint of discrimination makes her foam at the mouth. I’m sure they would shoot her with a horse tranquillizer.”
He shook out a small puff of air, a small smile curling his lips fractionally at the joke. He hated being so helpless in this situation, hated seeing the tears on your face from fear and pain. He hated the fact that he wasn’t here to snap the necks of whoever stared too hard at you, pulled at your hair in disbelief of the natural curls, intentionally misread your pain scale from some asinine and prehistoric belief that what you felt was vastly different from others. It made him sick to his stomach. But he was here now, content to keep your hand in his and soothe you in whatever way he could. For as long as you would let him.
When Rory returned, it was with a doctor you didn’t recognize, but she held an air to her that made you feel a little better. She had worked extensively with Dr. Reynolds who had forwarded her your chart and was prepared to do whatever she could to make you at ease. You relaxed instantly, sagging into Nanami’s embrace as she administered medicine fit for your pregnancy and doing basic vitals.
“The pain is your body growing to get accustomed to the baby. You uterus is moving and the ligaments surrounding are stretching to accommodate the new addition. It’s uncomfortable, but the cramps are also exacerbated by stress. Too much of it can lead to your placenta detaching and that’s something we have to avoid.”
Nanami was silent at your side, but his presence was rock solid against you, tethering you to him to remain calm.
“I honestly recommend you rest for the next few weeks. No working, no traveling, maybe small walks here and there but I think until the slight discomfort subsides, we want to make sure you are relaxed as much as possible. However, I think tonight you need someone really watching you. I feel like you won’t listen.”
“She won’t,” Rory interjected in agreement, prompting you to glare at him. He rolled his eyes before smiling. “I need to deal with your mother tonight so—”
“I can watch her.”
The shock in your face was hard to ignore but Nanami simply looked down at you with his indifferent stare, eyes firm and leaving no room for argument.
You knew a man like Nanami had taste, but you never expected his apartment to be so nice. A penthouse suite in Nakameguro, enough bedrooms to never have to worry about space, open floor plans with stainless steel appliances, dark wood floors, and walls decorated with art and photography. Every corner held something that made it all feel cozier. His living room had the longest sofa you had ever seen decorated with neutral floor pillows and a rather large throw blanket that was calling your name. His television was large, the center glass table sleek and sharp and perched atop some faux rug that you would tease him about another time. But the most distinct characteristic of his house were the books. Along the wall of his living room was a large bookshelf that was spilling with them.
Another corner held a small bar, a decanter filled with whiskey, crystal glasses clean and upside down to avoid dust, a few shelves of expensive liquor underneath. A small table next to the bar held a well used record player, a small bookshelf next to it housing different vinyl that you would tell yourself to look at later.
You wandered to his bookshelf, running your fingers through different works that even you were shocked to see. Every genre from crime to romance to science fiction. The pages were well worn, bent at the corners and slightly used.
Your gaze slid over to his television, long and polished, a flash of DVDs peeking from underneath it in the entertainment center. They all were basic movies, something most people watch all the time, but you never would have expected Nanami of all people to have a physical copy.
Your eyes widened as they fell on a few collections.
“Jersey Shore?” You didn’t bother to hold back the incredulous tone, turning to look at him as he poured you a glass of water from his large kitchen. The room was dark but the light from his open fridge cast an odd shadow that highlighted his sharp cheekbones.
“You watched Jersey Shore??”
“I watch Jersey Shore.”
The forwardness to acknowledge such a trivial piece of information had your mouth open and gaping. He lifted an amused eyebrow at you as he walked across the room, set the glass of water on the center table and then placed his warm hands on your upper shoulders before guiding you slowly down to the couch, handling you with care as if you were glass. You rolled your eyes but didn’t tell him to stop.
“You like reality tv?”
He slid off your shoes, silently pulling your legs onto the couch and then reaching over to hand you the glass of water.
“I do. Why do you look shocked?”
“You know why I look shocked.”
You chuckled around the rim of the clear glass cup, sipping silently and letting the cold water sliding down your throat soothe your nerves. The nerves of being in such an odd situation with him; high up in Nakameguro with the father of your child in his very expensive and large apartment.
“I’m sure Jersey Shore was too much for you. There’s much better reality tv.” He lifted an eyebrow in challenge, blonde locks falling in front of his eyes and shooting you a gaze that made your skin tingle. “The Real Housewives?”
“Seen them.”
“Even Salt Lake City?”
“Definitely Salt Lake City.”
You couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled from your throat, watching him with a small smile as he brought the throw blanket to you, smoothing it over your legs and casting them in soft warmth.
“What about the Kardashians?”
He hummed, narrowing his eyes to himself as he thought it over.
“Seen that as well. Even the two seasons from their new show.”
“There’s three seasons.” That seemed to catch him off guard, his brown eyes filling with curiosity as he turned his gaze to you. “You wanna watch?”
He reclined against the sofa, letting his head fall back before it lulled over to look at you. His gaze was sharp, intense eyes prying deep inside and seeing something that seemed to make him smile just a little. Such a small action, but enough to make you boil over in emotion.
“Would you like popcorn?”
You watched him silently as he worked in the kitchen, pulling out a box of already opened butter popcorn and then popping it in his microwave. He moved around with an elegance that you saw all the time at the office, eyes sharp and unrelenting and free of his glasses, hands large and fluid as he set the timer and fished for a large bowl. It felt odd, feeling the sense of normalcy wash over you as you observed across the room, suddenly imagining a little girl perched on his marble countertop, dark curls frizzy as he made her a late night snack.
It made your heart pound suddenly, lurching you out of your thoughts and choosing instead to smile at him as he sat back down next to you. He seemed to catch something in your gaze as he placed a warm hand on your blanket covered leg, rubbing softly.
“Are you okay? Comfortable?”
You could only nod in reply, blinking away the wetness in your eyes. He opened his mouth to speak, pausing only for a second.
“I know that you’re upset with what happened. You have every reason to be. But I want you to know that I’m going to fix this. I’ve done enough for the sake of my own pride and I don’t want to hurt you again. I’ll never forgive myself if I don’t show you and our child that you can trust me. I don’t like that you hate me.”
You pursed your lips, running your fingers along the edge of the metal bowl filled with popcorn as you fought back yet another bought of tears. Everything felt too real all of a sudden and even though you wanted to be vulnerable, to maybe let him into your life to show him how things affected you, you were just too tired tonight.
But you could give him a small concession.
“I was mad at you. At everyone really. I don’t feel like talking about it tonight. But I…I don’t hate you Nanami.” That seemed to hold something for him as he relaxed into the sofa, resting his cheek against the cushions as he gazed at you. He would make it up to you. He would do whatever he could to prove you that he was someone worth keeping.
“Besides, I’m so curious to see who your favorite Kardashian is.”
The distraction pulled a small chuckle from him, rare and deep that made his chest shake beneath his hoodie.
“Kourtney.”
“Somehow, that makes sense.”
He shook out another laugh, the sound rumbling through the late night air.

HELP your time travel shenanigans fic idea about toji being very much alive but still putting the fate of his two little ass kids in the hands of a bunch of 16-17 year olds even if he’s still breathing. if i was megumi then my abandonment issues would’ve gone crazy if that happened to me 😭. mamaguro is looking down from the pearly white gates IN ANGER at toji’s audacity i just know it.
but now i’m curious on other ideas (that you have) for fics about jjk that you may or may not get to after sea glass gardens.
see the sad thing is that letting a bunch of 16-17 year old bitchy disaster gays discover the magic of teen parenthood is actually a step up because he had already sold Megumi to the Zenin and feral wolverines would be a better alternative to them. This was the best parenting decision toji has ever made.
(Time travel!Megumi: look we don’t have any other options. Anything is better than the Zenin.
Gojo, in the distance: they’re what three? That’s old enough for a red bull
Geto: I will actually kill you over this satoru
Time travel!megumi: *deep breath*)
A loose catalogue of my jjk fics, which may or may not exist one day:
Sea glass gardens verse:
I am forever compelled by the siren call of expanding my fics into universes because one story is never enough for me. I’ve got threeish stories in this universe, with no promises of how many, if any, I’ll write.
1. The Teen Parenting Chronicles: Gojo, Nanami, and Shoko’s expert guide to raising children when you are, in fact, children. Featuring what the fuck happened with the Zenin the first time around.
2. Megumi’s pov of what just happened leading up to sea glass gardens: someone asked me if I’d ever write this and it has the highest chance of existing because I have. Sort of. Started writing it. I have impulse control issues.
3. Okkotsu Yuuta and the world’s longest distance panic attack: crack fic of Yuuta on his study abroad trip becoming increasingly more frantic at the other second year’s updates as to how His Boy’s first year as a jujutsu sorcerer is going. What do you mean sukunas there. What do you mean he doesn’t have a shirt. Well put one on him!
Time travel AU:
1. The Time Traveler’s Guide to Fucking Shit Up And Living Well: following another attempt on their lives by the higher ups, the first year gang is forced into a desperate, high stakes gamble with a time-centric curse that puts their very existences at stake. If they want to survive, they have to complete one task of their choosing in the past before the clock runs out. Their mission?
To punch fushiguros shitty bio dad in the face, something which will surely have no long term consequences on the timeline.
See this one has the most chance of actually existing one day because it is by far my FAVORITE jjk fic I have. It even beats out sea glass gardens. I desperately want to write it.
2. The 2006 Gang and the Art of a Good Union: following a confusing incident with the star plasma vessel and three unknown sorcerers, the 2006 Tokyo jujutsu high first and second year class inexplicably goes off the rails and retires from jujutsu sorcery, claiming that they’ve discovered the magic of teen parenthood and can in no way risk themselves in such a dangerous profession now that they have kids to think about. At least, not with the way things are run now.
No one knows where they got the children from.
3. Toji Fushiguro and the Dead Beat Dad Chronicles: in which toji fushiguro succeeds at being a dead beat baby daddy to two teenaged gay boys and their crew of bitchy lgbtq compadres, who in no way want him to be involved in their children’s lives.
Standalones:
1. “Fushiguro is unleashed in junpei’s school like an invasive superpredator” AU: I’ve talked about this one in way more detail in another post for an ask game, but the idea is that itadori discovers junpeis abuse at school and says Not On His Fucking Watch and escalates the matter to gojo, who decides the funniest possible solution while they try to draw out mahito is to unleash his all star delinquent son into junpeis high school to bully the bullies.
Fushiguro resents this as a problem solving strategy.
2. The Zenin raise Megumi AU: also discussed in more detail in an ask game. In which people took Tsumiki’s little brother from her, but she’s trying to get him back, she promises.
Or, in which the Zenin take megumi, leave tsumiki, and they both spend every day after fighting to get back to the other.
3. Sort of a no curse AU: Itafushi romance story, in which local himbo Itadori Yuuji falls for delinquent Fushiguro Megumi when his grandpa is placed in the room next to Fushiguros comatose sister. Starts as a no curse AU… except there’s totally curses, Tsumikis mom just moved them to Sendai without telling anyone so the Zenin never found Megumi, and he’s just never told anyone about the curses he sees because he’s worried he’s schizophrenic. He thought the shikigami thing was a metaphor for self actualization or something.
4. Fushiguro Megumi and the World’s Most Inconvenient Custody Battle: pre JJK0, Geto decides to be a shithead magic terrorist at a local school that represents all the worst of monkey society: it’s known for a rampant bullying issue, which is a breeding ground for cursed spirits, and it contributes to the risk to jujutsu sorcerers by feeding a local legend of a haunted bridge that could explode into a serious curse any day.
What he didn’t count on? Finding the new Ten Shadows in the student body, who’s fully willing to kamikaze them both if it means saving his sister’s life.
And who doesn’t seem to be aware that he more than has the potential to take suguru in a fight.
In which Fushiguro just wanted to shut up, go to school, and go home, and instead finds himself in a binding vow to give cult life a whirl to save the lives of classmates he doesn’t even like all that much.
It involves oddly more parenting than he expected.
5. Fake Fiancés AU: prodigy and noble prize winning physicist Gojo Satoru, following a very ill advised fuck buddies arrangement with fushiguro toji, has settled down into domestic bliss with the two kids he took from the relationship despite them not, in any way, being related to him. The problem? His ex is back in town. The hot one. The one who broke up with him and started a cult. The one who he wants to convince he got over when he absolutely did not do that.
The solution? Tell everyone he’s happily engaged to Nanami Kento, who cannot express enough how much he does not want him to do that.
… until, all of a sudden, he needs a show of domestic bliss himself. His adoptive son’s older brother, sukuna, has crawled out of the woodwork and decided to make a play for custody himself. And Nanami does not know what Sukuna truly wants, but he knows it does not have Yuuji’s best interests at heart.
I share custody of this story with my best friend, who cocreated it with me over deranged text message. I may convince her to joint write it with me if I ever get her to publish her fanfic.
6. Todo Aoi and Schrodinger’s Boyfriend: Todo’s beloved brother, who is most assuredly a man, suffers some kind of terrible brain damage that leads him to confess he loves an assless boy. Todo cannot abide by this, until it’s pointed out to him that if Fushiguro’s type is his brother, that would make him the most interesting man alive. If it is not, he continues to be a boring and uninteresting boy.
Todo sets off on a mission with two goals: determine if fushiguro megumi is interesting, and get him to do some squats. because there’s simply no ass there.
Fushiguro wonders why his life is suddenly harder.
7. Choso and the Art of Being a Big Brother: choso discovers the truth of kenjaku early and does the only logical thing in response: he kills his father in his sleep, cuts out his brain, and delivers it in a jar to his new brother Itadori Yuuji as the first step in wooing him into domestic sibling love.
Megumi doesn’t know where these people come from. Or why all of them think itadori is their brother.
8. SatoSugu realizes their little boy is all grown up when he gets his first crush on a boy when he meets yuuji.
They do not fucking take it with grace.
Also co-written with my best friend via text message.
9. The instagram chronicles: crack fic in which the jujutsu sorcery personnel crisis gets worse, because nobara Kugisaki keeps trying to hard launch her instagram influencer career, and keeps accidentally making every jujutsu sorcerer instagram famous except for her
10. So I don’t actually ship Yuuta and Megumi, but I do really like the idea of low stakes relationships? Like, especially for teen romances. You tried it, decided you were better off as friends, and just went back to being friends. I just like the idea of fumbling around in relationships and getting a sense of boundaries and what you’re interested in without it being a big, world-shaking romance. It seems like a more realistic portrayal of high school relationships than every one of them being this world-defining mature love.
Pre season 1 but post JJK 0, Yuuta and Megumi dated for maybe a month and half, held hands maybe twice, and decided that they were better off as friends and parted on good terms. The issue?
No one realized they were dating. And when it is realized, everyone thinks their relationship was torpedoed because the second years kept inviting themselves onto their dates.
Cue the jjk high school students trying to amend old mistakes and get Yuuta and Megumi back together, who do not, in fact, want to be back together. Headlining Inumaki Toge, who is half in love with Yuuta and does not know why he’s helping get him together with someone else, and Itadori Yuuji, who is half in love with Megumi and also does not know why he’s helping get him together with someone else.

hiii for the music drabbles may i request for nanami with the song tired by alan walker? thank you
y'all are into the angst huh?
Tumblr media
tired
When you whisper, I'm alright But I see through your white lies But these walls don’t talk And if they could, they’d say Can't hide the secrets You can't forget about this mess
Song: Tired by Alan Walker Pairing: Nanami Kento x GN!Reader Warnings: swearing, smoking, sadness Length: 600 words
Tumblr media
"I don't care anymore." And with that, your world fell apart. You looked at your fiancé, at the sharp slope of his nose against the silver light of the moon behind his broad frame. His hair was tousled, a few stray strands falling over his forehead, sweat beading on his skin. Blood blossomed on his collar, crimson coating his hands as he shakily sucked at the cigarette between his slender fingers. “Don’t lie, Kento,” you sighed, slumping against the balcony door, drinking the dreary sight before you. “I can’t do this anymore. This. Us,” Nanami gestured between the pair of you, his eyes obstructed by the thick lenses of his spectacles. “If you really felt that way, you would never have proposed,” you reasoned, glancing down at the glittering band on your finger. “It was a mistake on my part,” his voice was taught, almost trembling with underlying hurt. Any other night, any other time, your heart would have shattered then and there, splintering into a million shards of sharp edges and blackened blood. But not tonight. Not when you knew exactly what was going on in his head, what spider spun lies filled his thoughts. Silence settled over the two of you, Nanami’s statement left unanswered. You could feel his gaze upon you, honey-gold eyes gauging your reaction to his razored words. You were expressionless, eyes almost empty the way they glanced past him to the city below. Why weren’t you crying? Yelling? Anything? Your shoulders finally released, a sigh escaping your soft lips as you tilted your head to finally meet Nanami’s stare. “Takuma called,” you offered, mouth set motionless as you watched your fiancé’s eyebrows furrow. “Ino-kun?” he couldn’t help it, couldn’t help the way his words caught in his throat, barbed wire choking out the name of his mentee in bitter bullets. “Yep. He broke his arm, but Shoko says she can fix it tomorrow once she’s had some sleep. He's staying at the school until then. He says that Itadori-kun says hi,” you levelled your glare at him. “Oh,” it’s soft, barely audible above the tidal wave of traffic below. “Are you going to stop trying to break up with me now?” you huffed, crossing your arms and clenching your teeth. “But –“ he started but you barged forward, pointer finger prodding itself hard into Nanami’s chest. “’But’ what, Kento? ‘But it’s too dangerous’? ‘But you’re scared’? Bullshit,” you took the cigarette from his hand and stubbed it out, unused since Nanami had promised to quit a few months ago. “You chose this, Kento. And I chose you,” you tugged at his tie, catching his attention to glare at him. “Do you think I’m stupid?” the question caught him off guard, his eyebrows shooting upwards. “Pardon?” ever-so-polite, as always, even when you were poking his sternum with a raging fire behind your eyes, your pupils pinpricks of pain in the gloom of the balcony. “Answer me,” you bit out, “do you think I’m stupid?” “Uh,” Nanami floundered, unsure, “no?” “Then don’t ever doubt my decision to be with you again,” you reached out, frigid fingers finding the rims of his glasses and removing them from your fiancé’s face. Despite the low light of the balcony, the leaking light from your flat behind you flickered in his eyes, the warm hazel of his eyes brightening as he looked upon your face. “What did I do to deserve you, hm?” he hummed, a small smile curling at the edge of his lips, the lines around his mouth loosening as the stress of the day seeped from him. “Don’t know,” you pondered, “you must have been a saint in your past life.” “And what if I’m a saint in this life?” finally, a smirk slid over his face, breathing life back into your fiancé. You scoffed. “A saint for who? You don’t believe in anything.” Nanami leant in, hazel eyes heavy-lidded as he spoke with a hush “I believe in you.”

Matchup Trade for @imjustabeanie
↳ Thank you for doing Matchups
Tumblr media
↳ Gojo Satoru
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Ok, I’ll admit it. This was a difficult decision. The problem started when I saw how well you fit with so many characters. But after all odds and spending an hour of narrowing your personality down, I finally chose Gojo with his warm smile and startling eyes. Is the difference and similarities between your personality that draws you too with one another.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Gojo Satoru who playfully banters with you, biting the inner corner of his cheeks to contain his laughter of how adorable you were when frustrated. From biting your lips and brown eyes full of fury, that sight always reminds Satoru to get you a bit mad.  But it’s ok, he does have his limits when it comes to you. With others such as Kento and Utahime, they will never hear the end of Gojo’s voice sadly.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Grudgingly waking up in the morning, expect Satoru to be in the kitchen attempting to make something for you. His hands going back and forth between the fruits and batter, his eyes glued on his phone and trying to learn the new recipe. Furrowed eyes soften in relief when he sees you walk up beside, handing him something with a soft smile. His heart skipped a beat. He will proceed to stuff sweet pancakes drizzled with chocolate down your throat when he hears you complain about your weight. You are perfect in every single way and nothing will ever change his mind.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ The white haired man is not only the strongest but also a quick learner. Learning simple words and calling out to you in different languages to get your attention, a soft blush sprinkled on your face accompanied with a soft smile.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Gojo who hates waiting but he is patient for you. He doesn’t want to rush you, he wants to figure you out slowly at your own pace. If you don’t feel like opening up yet, it’s ok. He will open up instead, assuring you that he can be trusted by you.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Gojo who discovers your love for sunglasses and spends all his money to buy matching sets for the both of you. He pampers and spoils you so much, always buying you things.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ RUNNER UP: NANAMI KENTO AND YUJI ITADORI
Tumblr media
↳ Leo Valdez
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Another goofball at your hand, you somehow manage to attract them? But aside from the romantic matchup, you give off Daughter of Hecate vibes or Dionysus.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Leo Valdez had misjudged you when paths had been first crossed. He had assumed you had been far too uptight, cold and serious, caring for nothing but winning. But. he was mistaken. Underneath all that rubble, is that you were something completely different. Rebellious, rule breaker and soft at heart, Leo was swayed away. When he first met you, he stopped dead in his tracks because of how beautiful you were. But as time went on and he learned your personality, he came to realise that the pretty face of your was your second best asset — your heart so sweet yet far too guarded
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ He is so cliche. The most he had got about romance is from romance novels and shows at most. Despite being horrible at flirting, saying the cheesiest things to exist, it somehow brings a smile on your face. Even if it lasts for a split second.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Hands smeared with oil, he brushes away some sweat, marvelling the beauty in front of him. He loves to make things. But he loves you more. So expect him to make and give you lots of gifts, a reminder that he will always be with you. His favourite thing he made for you was the simplest thing he ever made — matching lockets containing a photo of both of you. When set off to save the world, he held on to that tightly and never let it go.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ Leo who approaches everything carefully. He knows of your no nonsense demeanour and how easily frustrated you get with others and he doesn’t want you to view him like that. The son of Hephaestus had the ability to loosen up the string that had formed a cage around your heart, restraining you from everyone else, with his brilliant ability to fix anything.
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ RUNNER UP: PERCY JACKSON AND ETHAN NAKAMURA

JJK MAIN CAST ! - KISSING THEM IN THE RAIN
Tumblr media
summary: asking the boys to go out in the rain with you so you can kiss them <3
tags: established relationship (gojo satoru, itadori yuji, and fushiguro megumi), coworker! nanami, gender neutral reader
notes: kind of went overboard with nanami's im so sorry (not really) it was fun to write. if you want to request other characters for this, go ahead! inbox is open!
Tumblr media
gojo doesn't mind the rain. it's not about whether he likes or dislikes it. but when it comes to ruining his nicely styled hair, he gets annoyed. or well… just sad. so the first thing he wants to do when he gets home is to towel dry his hair and lay in bed. he's upset when his day plans were ruined when it started heavily pouring. as soon as he got home, the sound of fast shuffling came louder as it got closer. you stared up at gojo, your annoyingly pretty boyfriend, with big puppy eyes. "can we go play in the rain?" you asked happily as if you knew he couldn't say no to you. he was annoyed, yes, but the way you looked at him was so cute.
and that's how gojo found himself outside dancing in the rain even without music on. his drenched messied hair now out of mind, he only focused on you. you looked so happy as you grabbed his hand and spinned yourself around. "isnt this fun?" you shouted, happily splashing around in puddles. "of course it is." gojo laughed as you almost slipped, his whole mood was lightened when he saw you. almost subconsciously, gojo grabbed your hand and pulled you into his arms. "you're so pretty." he whispered only for you to hear as he leaned down and placed his lips on yours. the sound of the rain accompanied the sound of your lips moving together. slowly but surely, the biggest grin formed on his face as he sneakily stomped in a puddle to get you more wet. "hey that's not fair! i thought you were being romantic for once!" gojo wholeheartedly laughed as he ran from you. this sure was fun.
Tumblr media
itadori loves the rain. though he doesn't like working in the rain, he loves it any other time. so when it started to rain, it was actually him that suggested to go out and play. when the two of went outside, yuji immediately started to jump in puddles, trying splash you and you would try to get him back although it never worked. he was too fast for your liking.
yuji would successfully dodge all of your attacks before you even got to see where he ran off to. he was fast and quick on his feet. though you were always on guard. what you had expect when he supposedly ran behind you was to tackle you but instead yuji had grabbed you by your wrist, spinning you around to meet him, flushed against his chest. he smiled at you so innocently and full of love before he touched his lips with yours. his soft pink lips because yes he does take care of them, mashing together with yours as you kissed under the rain. the two of you completely utterly soaked though he didnt care. "yuji, we are going to get sick if we stay out any longer" you complained though you enjoyed being out here with him. "alright alright lets go inside, lets take a hot shower together and cuddle afterwards okay?" you could never say no if asked so cutely like that. "of course." yuji smiled once more, pressing a small kiss to your lips before heading back inside with you in his arms.
Tumblr media
megumi doesn't like the rain but he doesn't dislike it. in the summer it was more than needed for him, it helped cool down the weather for the day and he could spend the day inside with you. when you happened to bring up the topic of going out in the rain, he shook his head and immediately questioned you, why would you go out in the rain? he never really saw the fun in that, plus you could get sick in the rain and its not fun being drenched in clothes. but of course if you really wanted to, you could drag him out.
though when megumi got outside, he regretted his decision. he sighed as he watched you happily play around in puddles in the pouring rain. "megumi please come here, just for a second. i promise" how cliché of him, but when you looked at him with that look, he would do anything for you. relentlessly he stumbled over to you, clearly looking annoyed but you knew better to think he was annoyed with you because he wasn't. megumi hummed a response as he got closer to you. quickly you placed your hands around his waist, pulling him closer as you leaned in for a kiss. meeting you halfway, megumi kissed you back. his lips slowly moving against yours but surely enough to let you know he was enjoying it. his hands were removed from his pocket for one to be placed at the nape of your neck and one holding your waist. though he didn't enjoy the rain, he enjoyed kissing you in it.
Tumblr media
nanami, surprisingly, likes the rain. it aides to the calming white-noise while he reads. however, he hates when it rains while he works. nanami occasionally checks the weather forecast so he can always be prepared for the day ahead. so when he arrives at the site of the curse he was supposed to exorcize, it starts raining. unfortunately for you, or maybe fortunately, you forgot to bring an umbrella. who really cares enough to check the weather beforehand? you didn't and easily enough you could probably tell when to head home if the clouds got too dark. but as you arrived at the site, the rain poured over the two of you. nanami carried the umbrella for you, holding it to where you could share. though nanami doesn't look flustered, he is. you were one of the only people nanami ever enjoyed talking to. so almost as if naturally, even outside of the jujustu kaisen world, the two of you went out regularly and got close. though it was never this physically close. nanami kept his hands strictly by his side to avoid bumping hands with you. but he did want to. to hold your now cold small hands (compared to his) in his own would be one of his favorite things to do but he couldn't. he wouldn't overstep boundaries as your coworker.
as the two of you were finished exorcizing the two grade one curse spirits, you waited for ijichi to arrive. "you know nanami, there's something i've always wondered about you." nanami only hummed as a response as he spared you a glance out of the corner of his eye. "if you know how you feel, why don't you ever act on it?" it was then nanami had a shocked expression on his face. "most people can't read your stoic expression but i can. it's not hard after being your friend for a while." you trailed as you looked at him rather than the empty street in front of you. the sound of the rain pouring filled the silence as you thought of your next words. "i'm surprised that you can't tell that i like you too. i always have." nanami looked at you this time. his eyes were softening, his shoulders were no longer henched up in stress after hearing his feelings were returned. nanami normally had a response for everything, yet he couldn't find a reply in his mind. "can i kiss you?" you nodded as you were somewhat hesitant and placed your hands on his hips. "you may." the umbrella long forgotten as nanami brought his hands to wrap around your neck and bring you closer. his blonde hair that was now drenched in rain fell down to the sides of his face as he kissed you. maybe, just maybe, nanami liked working in the rain.

when it's morning | itadori yuji x reader
Tumblr media
tw: kidnap. spoiler from the anime, hurt/comfort
sinopse: Yuji's partner is kidnapped and drugged to sleep. After this, they have a hard time falling asleep.
Tumblr media
Gojo had warned him. And even before that, Yuji knew the risks. He knew having Sukuna in his body was twice as dangerous to you, because besides all the people how would go after him for being the receptacle of the curse, Sukuna himself was dangerous. As if your situation wasn't already bad enough, you were only a human, never having heard of the jujutsu world before your boyfriend swallowed a finger you found in a box on the back of the school - and, sadly, you and two other friends from the Occult Research Club decided to play with the mysterious object, sure to find something that would justify to the student council keeping your club open.
You and Itadori had already been dating for a few months before the incident - the only reason why you didn't go to visit his grandfather with him that day was because he asked you to not go and you respected his wish to have a moment alone with the elderly man. Even after finding out about the situation with him being partially possessed and how dangerous the whole jujutsu thing was, neither of you were ready to break up. And Itadori was naive to believe he could get strong enough in time to protect you - he underestimated the number of people that would want him dead.
But no one really expected that the second he announced to the others he was alive in the Goodwill Event even the jujutsu school would become a risky place for you to be - even more with him busy participating and the strongest sorcerers watching over the students. Mahito didn't have much of a problem getting you when he recognise you as being the one Yoshino pointed as being Itadori's partner.
It wasn't planned. But Mahito thought it would be fun.
After noticing you were gone, Yuji panicked. Even Sukuna, who claimed you to be only a weak mortal, got angry with whoever had the nerve to touch a defenseless person, being too cowards to attack him directly.
Yuji wanted to go after you and that was probably the first time he and Sukuna agreed 100% with something. But Gojo convinced him that was what your hijackers, so would be for the best if only Satoru and Nanami went on the mission to save you.
For Nobara and Fushiguro's sake - who were having a hard time dealing with a taciturn Itadori, something Megumi didn't believe possible - it didn't take long for Gojo and Nanami to come back with you.
They didn't know, but Geto got upset with Mahito sudden decision to kidnap you even after he told them they shouldn’t kill random students for fun because one of them could be a barrel of powder for the bomb that was Sukuna. So, after thinking for a few days, unhurried, Geto decided that it was better to not keep you with them and handed you to another curse, in hopes to distract the sorcerers from him and his group. To that day, you had been forced to stay asleep by being constantly drugged by Suguru. So it was shocking when you woke up in a hotel room in Tokyo, only remembering the little you saw and heard between waking up and being put to sleep again.
|
Gojo was relieved to find you in a span of a week. He feared if he took too long it would destabilize Itadori and Sukuna would take control and never give it back to the boy.
But you're scared and confused, so he decided to go against your pleads to see Yuji and took you to see Shoko first. It was night when she gave Satoru feedback about your state and only then did he goes to talk to Itadori.
Yuji already suspected Gojo had come back because Sukuna was quiet for the first time since you disappeared, but he didn't want to get his hopes high. So when Satoru appeared on his door, he felt a huge weight being taken out of his shoulder just to have an even heavier one be put on.
Where were you?
Were you alive?
For the sake of what remained of his mental health, Gojo went straight to the point after sitting the boy down on his bed.
Yuji had thought he would sleep better once you were back in his arms, save, but he was wrong.
|
When the pink-haired boy saw you in the nursery, it was like his heart was being pulled from his chest all again. Your skin was in an unhealthy color, you were shaking and seemed to not have eaten since you were kidnapped.
Shoko explained to you that it would be normal to have a hard time falling asleep after what happened, but that it was important to rest. So she gave you sleeping pills.
You thanked her, but when you were alone with Yuji in his room, you refused to take the pills. They weren't that different from what they were given you.
But you saw the way Yuji was looking at you, the way he held your hand from the nursery to his dorm - as if you're made of glass and anything could break you. So you pretended to have taken the pills while he was using the toilet.
Not long after lying down, Itadori had fallen asleep, the relief you're back weighing on him. But you couldn’t possibly fall asleep. At first, you weren't that tired, but around 2AM your eyelids got heavy, and you were getting asleep, which set you in a sudden wave of panic. What if you slept and were back with the curses? What if they had cursed you and every time you slept you would go back to then? They wouldn’t let you go as easy as they did, would they?
With many thoughts worrying you, it was morning before you could notice. And that was your first sleepless night.
|
You tried your best to not sleep. And every time you ended up taking a nap, you woke up desperate, not remembering where you were. Itadori had noticed that you looked exhausted, but you tried your best not to worry him. In the end, he had no idea how to help you.
Until one night, almost a week after you had been saved, he asked why you weren't taking the pills Shoko gave to you when you laid in bed for the night. Maybe it was because of the lack of sleep, but the worry in his tone and the way he hold your hand as if you could break, as enough to put you on the verge of tears.
"I'm scared I won't wake up," you told him and then, holding your sobs back the best you could, you told him about what happened while you're away. "I know it could've been worse... They could've hurt me, but..."
"They did!" he interrupts you "Maybe not physically, but they did hurt you." Now Itadori also had tears in his eyes.
Finally, you stop trying to hold back your tears and let yourself cry in his arms, pretending to don't notice the wet spot his own tears are making in your pajama shirt.
After calming down, feeling even more tired than before, you ask him:
"Yuji?"
"Yes?"
"Is it- Is it okay if I sleep now?"
"Of course" he answers, finding it hard to talk with the lump he feels in his throat "I'll be here to protect you and make sure you wake up when it's morning."

The sound of your alarm blared at the crack of dawn, making you immediately jerk up in an unfashionable manner, you shouldn’t drink on Sunday nights. Good lord,  why did you even do that?-
Your thoughts are cut short though when you feel something, better yet, someone, next to you. It’s dark but you could definitely tell that whoever this stranger is, had settled himself quite comfortably by your side. You blink once then twice then slowly reached out to switch your lamp open to get a good look on who was next to you.
Thankfully, you’re still in your clothes from last night.
Also, who the fuck is this?
Your brows are furrowed together as you try to remember who this person was. Blonde hair and jaw so sharp that it could probably cut the vegetables on your kitchen counter, some fine lines littered his face as he wrinkled his forehead in his sleep.
The tie on his neck is loose as you slowly peered to observe him even more and for some odd reason that made your ears turn bright red as you check out his rather lean figure (he wasn’t overly muscular, he was just right)
“Oh shit.” You mumbled, snapping out of your daze, you had to focus! This was a stranger for crying out loud, “Who the-”
Before you could even say anything more, his eyes shot open and you’re greeted by chocolate brown eyes. You try to stutter out a reply, clearly in your frazzled state the only thing you could let out was, “What the fuck?”
“Oh, you’re awake.” his voice was deep and quite raspy, and daresay, it suited his rather sharp appearance.
Was this stranger awake this whole time that you were gawking at him under the dim light? Your ears turn even a brighter shade of pink. Was it just the heater or was this room getting hotter than it should be?
Yet despite your flustered state though, he thankfully remains oblivious, “Are you feeling any better?” he asks.
Despite his bland facial expression, there was a certain warmth in his tone and that made your heart beat quicken. It wasn’t everyday that you’d wake up to find a good looking older gentleman next to you after all, “I’m good…” You shyly replied, the confidence you had moments ago while you were cursing him was gone when you heard his soft tone, “I- sorry but who are you? What happened?”
He stares at you for a moment and purses his lips, “Nanami Kento.” he introduces himself briefly. From the likes of it, he seemed like a professional, “To be honest, I don’t have much recollection from last night due to the alcohol. When I woke up a few moments ago, you wouldn’t let go and I had no choice but to lay there and wait for you to wake up.”
You paled just a bit at his explanation and turned bright red right after, how embarrassing! Not only did you just embarrass yourself in front of this older gentleman awhile ago, you did something so unlike you last night! Thank god this ojisan was a lot more calmer than you. He didn’t even look that perplexed or annoyed by your state at all.
He runs his hands through his soft blonde hair after and lets out a low groan.
“D-Does your head hurt, Nanami-san?”
“Yes.”
“I-would you-” you tried to stammer a few words out yet you're immediately cut off by his phone ringing.
Right, boundaries. You shouldn’t overstep them since you already did so much last night to disturb him despite you two being so out of it. You watch him as he answers his cell phone in a quick and suave manner, all traces of hungover gone, “Nanami speaking.” He greets as soon as he answers the call, “I understand. Please try to help them out and I apologize for the inconvenience.”
He ends the call and stands up, tightening his tie. Despite him spending the night here, he still looked orderly and it’s so unfair because right now, you knew you looked like absolute shit with the alcohol and booze in your system.
“I have to take my leave now. I apologize for intruding.” he bows down formally.
You’re pretty sure you were the one who intruded, his actions makes you immediately stand up despite the throbbing headache which was definitely a wrong move because the moment you did, you felt your legs giving out.
Great.
“I-sorry, I would bow…” You tried to stammer out an apology, ears bright red once again, just how much could you embarrass yourself in front of this gentleman?  “Sorry for the intrusion too Nanami-san.”
He leaves without saying anything much to your relief and as soon as you hear your front door close, you scream right at the pillow.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” You muffled at the pillow.
Thank God you wouldn’t be seeing him ever again!
Tumblr media
“L/N-sensei.”
You turn to find Maki and Megumi standing there, they were members of a rather elite family in Tokyo, Most often you avoided bumping shoulders with Megumi’s father since he was, well, quite a tease and although you do admit that Toji Zen’in is a very good-looking and fine man from a very good background, you couldn’t look past the fact that you taught his kids mathematics and there was a good fifteen year age gap between you two, “Hi there.” A warm smile dances on your lips, “Is this about the earlier math problem again?”
The question was directed to Maki, Megumi wasn’t one to ask questions about his lessons since he wasn’t fond of academics.
“Actually, it isn’t. Toji-ojisan says you should come to his birthday.” Maki shrugged, “He says his 40th birthday wouldn’t be complete if you weren’t there.”
Ah, that’s why Megumi didn’t want to go alone. The young boy’s cheeks are painted pink, clearly embarrassed by his father’s antics, “Ah,” You laughed, trying to play it cool. Despite his father’s relentless teasing, he had never made you feel uncomfortable. If he hadn’t been asking you out a few times, you’d consider him a friend, “Your otosan does love to joke around a lot doesn’t he, Megumi-kun?”
“I could deck him for you if you’d like, sensei. I swear that old man needs to realize that you’re way too young and good for him.” He mumbles the last part, clearly annoyed.
“Oh have you gotten married, L/N-sensei?” Maki cuts her younger cousin off suddenly, clearly surprised, “I thought you never had a boyfriend..or girlfriend...or a lover…”
“I- excuse me?” You sweatdrop, “Married, where?”
“Am I mistaken? You have a silver band on your ring finger at your left hand.” Maki points out, “Congrats sensei! It seems like Toji-ojisan won’t be bothering you anymore!”
You were too much in a frazzled state this morning that you hadn’t even noticed the ring band on your finger. You weren’t married, heck, you haven’t dated since college but where in the hell did you get this ring?
“L/N-san?” You’re snapped back to reality by a coworker, “We have two new enrollees, would you mind handling them since they’ll be added to your section?”
“Right,” You smile, “That’s my cue to leave. I’ll get going now. Enjoy your snack time.”
Before Maki could say anything more about the silverband on your ring finger, you scurried away to the faculty room, shaking that weird feeling off since you had to get back to work.
Job first, ring later.
As you went in, two abnormally bleached pink hair stood out and you could immediately tell that they were going to be the new kids that you’d be teaching. You walk closer, realizing how much they looked alike despite the markings on the other.
“Hi, Good morning.” You greeted kindly, “You must be the new kids.”
“Ah,” the one with tattoo markings on his face gloated, “Aren’t you too bright?”
“Sukuna, shut up.” his twin frowned, “Sorry Sensei, My brother isn’t feeling so well since our ojisan had told us off before going to school.”
It seemed like the other twin would be a handful, nevertheless, you were still going to be his teacher so you let out a small smile, “It’s fine.” You waved off, “We all have bad days, don’t we? I’m L/N-sensei and I’ll be your homeroom and math teacher.”
“Hai.” The one without tattoos replied, enthusiasm leaking on his tone, “Itadori Yuuji and this is Itadori Sukuna, please take care of us.”
You watch Yuuji force his twin to bow down to show a sign of respect. For a high schooler, Sukuna and Yuuji’s parents seemed so lax, bleached hair and tattoos? That was definitely a first one on your list. You take a look at the data they passed and a small frown settles on your lips, it seemed like you had to take back the words you said earlier.
Both their parents had died a few years ago.
You cleared your throat and tried to put on the smile and enthusiasm from earlier, “I’ll be sure to introduce you to the class right after break and since it’s your first day I’ll be lax but please try not to go in late again.”
Yuuji’s grin remains the same as he agrees enthusiastically while Sukuna still looks mildly uninterested, something that you realize oh-so quickly that you’ll have to get used to.
After introducing the twins to the class, you settle on your desk at the faculty and peer at the ring on your finger. The only conclusion you could come up with was that this was from the older gentleman from the night before but why would he even give you a ring?
It didn’t even look cheap and it was surprisingly just your size, meaning it was definitely for you.
You inwardly let out a groan as you placed your hand on top of your eyes. God, you definitely needed to lay off the alcohol next time. You feel the phone in your pocket start to ring, peerlessly glancing at the unknown number. People really need to lay off the scam calls.
“Hello, I’m sorry I’m not-”
“Yo-ho, is this Y/N-chan?” The voice on the other line is so unfamiliar yet familiar at the same time.
“Uh, who is this?”
“Is your husband with you?” the voice sounds so playful and teasing that you almost ignore what he had just said earlier.
“E-Excuse me?” You sputtered out, cheeks turning red, “I don’t have a husband.”
“Huh…” the playful voice switches to disappointment, “Don’t tell me you forgot what happened with us last night, L/N-chan.”
You feel something bubbling on your stomach, oh no, this definitely didn’t sound good!
“I- wait, what? who are you? What do you mean? what happened?” countless of questions started to pile up in your head and out of your mouth, panic immediately engulfing you because for a prank call this guy sounded way too legit, confirming your irresponsibility the night before.
“Silly Y/N-chan. How could you ever forget me? I’m such an important person! I’m Gojo Satoru, your witness from your wedding!”

Tumblr media
“Maybe we should take a break.”
Those six words were engrained into the mind of Nanami Kento for the rest of his life. Those six words were the words that tossed his world upside down - and every time those words came into mind, the imagine of your crying face comes with it.
You were so distraught, yet you put up a brave front as you gave him a shaky smile - something that he loves so much about you. That even though his explanation as to why you two should break up was childish, selfish even; you still go the extra mile to make sure that he knows you understand. That you understand why he wants to take a break so that he can focus on himself and his career.
“I understand, Nami...just know I love you, okay?”
Your simple words, coupled with your tearful eyes and watery smile made him want to take back the words as soon as possible. That he wants to just turn back time and just admit to himself that he was going to regret his decision. But at the same time, he doesn’t want to. If he did go back in time and stopped, he might end up breaking your heart again; if not with more bitterness and anger.
When he was young, he hated that he was a jujutsu sorcerer - hated how he has this responsibility over him that he never asked for. He just wanted to be free from the jujutsu world and never look back. You were different - you were so proud that you were a jujutsu sorcerer, always a beacon of light in the dark reality that is being a sorcerer. Somehow you made it bearable for him, and at one point he thought he can do it for the rest of his life. Until after the death of Haibara Yu, a classmate that the both of you call a dear friend.
It was at that moment that he snapped, and he knew he didn’t want to do this anymore.
Yet he couldn’t force himself to drag you away from something you love so dearly, something you see as your duty to protect. He knew that either way he was going to be selfish, and either way tears were going to be shed; so he chose the one that would hurt the least. However, now years down the line, he still thinks that maybe things could have worked out. There was no denying that he still loves you - even though he keeps in touch with his senior, Gojo Satoru, from time to time, he doesn’t ask about you.
From what he knows, you stayed back in Jujutsu Tech and became a teacher, but that is all he knows about you. He was too scared, too embarrassed to face you once more - because he knows better then to dream. Dream that the promise you promised to keep as teens was going to hold up now that the both of you were in your late twenties.
But there is no harm in dreaming, right?
Tumblr media
Nanami checked his watch as he got off the train, making his way towards the bus station located right outside of the building. It was his first time back at the college after being away from it for a few years, since he had called Gojo the other day on asking about if there is an opening for him to return as a sorcerer.
Even though Gojo can be a huge pain in the ass to deal with, Nanami knew that if there was anyone who can confirm a space for him at work, it will be Gojo Satoru.
Walking out of the crowded station, he looked up just in time to see the white haired shaman waiting for him at the entrance; who grinned and waved when he saw his junior. “Nanami! I knew you were not going to be late.” Gojo called out to the man dressed in a fresh grey suit and blue shirt underneath; his spotted tie knotted around his neck. The bespectacled man just sighs tiredly and made his way towards his overly excited senior, scowling when the taller male draped an arm around his shoulders.
He opened his mouth to say something when he noticed the ring that was resting on Gojo’s left ring finger, causing him to raise a curious eyebrow as he allowed the older male to lead him along. “You got married?” He asks the taller male, who glances at his hand before he grins and shakes his head, flexing his hand a little to show off the simple band around his ring finger. “Nah, we just got engaged. We are planning for the wedding though.” He stated simple, to which Nanami glances over at his senior in surprise. “What? Thought that I was too good to be married off?”
“No, I am surprised that you somehow managed to find someone willing to chain themselves down with you.”
“How mean!” Gojo gasps before he shakes his head in amusement, playfully squeezing his junior who just scowls lightly. “For your information, we’ve been dating for the last 4 years. And we have both talked about marriage before, so I wasn’t blindly shooting into the dark when I proposed.” Gojo commented as the two of them made their way towards the taxi stand, where Ijichi greeted his two seniors with a soft bow; all three men getting into the car. “Still surprised they said yes.”
Gojo just pouts and whines at his junior, who just listened to him with his deadpan expression the entire way to the college. He was surprised that Gojo managed to come on time to pick him up, since he had expected for him to be late, and for him to have either taken the bus or hailed a taxi on his own. But he didn’t really mind; he’s used to handling Gojo’s childish personality, and he gets a free ride at the same time. So he doesn’t mind the brief ride with Gojo.
Soon they arrived at the wooded area where the college is located on, getting out of the car once Ijichi stops the car. Quietly Nanami got out of the car and squints his eyes a little at the sunlight that shone down on him, his eyes slowly focusing on the grand temple-like compound that is Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. “Feels weird to be back?”
“A bit.” Nanami admitted to Gojo when he walked from the other side of the car to Nanami’s side, the man just chuckling before he gestures for him made his way through the gates and into the campus, immediately being hit with all the nostalgia of being a student once more. It felt like a light weight was being lifted off his shoulders as he soaks everything in, like the guilt of him leaving his duties as a sorcerer behind has been lifted.
The two men made their way deeper into the college just as someone called out to Gojo from behind, causing both men to pause as they turned to look back. Immediately Nanami felt his heart skip a beat when his eyes finally settled onto you, a warm smile gracing your features as you made your way towards the both of them. Nanami was so stuffed that he didn’t catch the way Gojo grins and opens his arms for you, watching the two of you embrace one another as a sinking feeling when he saw the delighted grin on your face.
The same grin that you used to give him after not seeing you for awhile.
Somehow Nanami managed to keep up an indifferent façade as you embraced your fiancée, pressing a soft kiss against his cheek in greeting whilst Gojo just nuzzles closer to you; in an attempt to milk all of the attention he can from you. “How needy.” You giggled at him before you turned to the man beside your fiancé with the intension of greeting him; only to freeze up when you realise who it was. “K-Kento?”
“Nice to see you again, Y/N.” Nanami greeted in his usual indifferent tone, trying to hide his heartbroken eyes beneath the shadow of his sunglasses as he tilted his head ever so slightly. “I guess some congratulations are to be said.” He stated simply before he gestures to your left ring finger, where a simple yet beautiful engagement ring rested on your finger. For some reason your heart sank as you awkwardly hid your hand behind your back, causing Gojo to raise an eyebrow as he glances between the both of you.
Was there something going on between the two of you?
“O-Oh, thanks.” You mumble out awkwardly, knowing immediately that Nanami was no longer in his usual indifferent mood. You can feel the slight hurt in his voice, one that causes your heart to break a little; bringing you back to the day you two broke up. How you promised to keep loving him until he was ready to return - yet here you are now, engaged to another man. It wasn’t like you fell out of love with him, you still love Nanami with all your heart, but that love had started to shift the years you two spend apart. And somehow, you started to fall for the white haired shaman known as Gojo Satoru.
But that doesn’t mean you didn’t feel any guilt for how evil you might seem to your ex for stringing him along like that. “I wasn’t expected to see you here.”
“I decided to come back.” Nanami stated simply with a shrug, glancing over at your quiet fiancé who blinks at him owlishly back at him. “Plus, Gojo here told me about a student of his by the name Itadori Yuji that I am supposed to take under my wing.” He continued, giving Gojo the chance to jump in as he smiles down at you, squeezing your shoulders gently. “That’s right! Kento-kun here said he wanted to come back! So his first job is to supervise Yuji-kun.”
“Oh.” You replied in a small tone, unsure of how to answer at all. But luckily Nanami stepped in before the awkward silence can drag on for long, pulling the sleeve of his jacket off his watch to check the time. “I don’t want to get in the way of your free time now, Y/N-san. I am going to go and rest up in my room before dinner is served.” He stated simply before bowing at the both of you, not meeting your eyes. “Excuse me.”
With that he turned to walk away, forcing himself to not look back at you as he made his way down the familiar hallways towards the dorms; the keys to the room he is to stay at for the time being clutched in his hand after he slipped it into his pocket. What was I thinking? He thought to himself as he continued his way down the empty hallway to the dormitories. Did I really think an amazing woman like that will wait for me?
He sighed to himself as he shakes his head a little, slipping his polished dress shoes off his feet before putting them on one of the free cubbies built into the wall; grabbing a pair of the guest slippers before he puts them on. “At least she managed to get engaged to Gojo. He’s definitely worthy of her love.” He mutters to himself, reminding himself to be happy that you found happiness. He doesn’t blame you for finding love once more - when he left this life behind, he also left you.
No call, no text, no attempt to reach out. Was he expected you to just fall into his arms once more? Pretend that nothing happened, and to go back to where you two once were? That thought alone caused him to let out a soft snort as he made his way towards the locked room, unlocking it with his keys. “Don’t be foolish, Kento. Be happy that she’s happy.” He mutters to himself as he entered his new room, closing the door behind him with a tired sigh.
“Guess you really were the one that got away.”

for context, this takes place shortly after the exchange event
--
“Maki-san?”
Nobara waits exactly five seconds before she knocks again, three times in quick succession. “Maki-san?” she repeats, rocking back and forth on her heels. Maybe she isn’t in her room? But no one else has seen her all evening, and Nobara asked everyone she could think of. She even spam texted Ijichi until he responded and made Itadori text Nanami.
“I’m coming in,” she announces, giving Maki a moment to tell her no if she wants.
There’s no response, so Nobara pushes the door open. The room is dark, the only light a thin sliver of daylight poking out from between the curtains. Nobara’s gaze sweeps the room, expecting to find it empty, but when her eyes land on the bed, she finds Maki is sitting on it, legs hugged against her chest and back against the wall.
Silence hangs heavy for a very long moment as the hallway light pours into the room, not quite reaching the spot where Maki is seated.
And then, soft enough Nobara could be convinced she imagined it, a sniffle breaks the quiet.
Maki looks up at Nobara, wiping her eyes with the heels of her hands. “Sorry,” she mumbles. “Did you need something?”
“I was coming to check on you, actually.”
Are you alright? rests on Nobara’s tongue, but it feels like a stupid question. Clearly Maki isn’t alright, regardless of whether or not she would admit it. She chews her lip, feet remaining firmly in the doorway so as to not encroach on Maki’s space.
“Oh,” Maki says.
“Yeah.” Nobara twists her fingers together. “No one’s seen you this evening, so I got worried and came to see if you were okay.”
The but remains unspoken. It isn’t really necessary.
Maki huffs out a laugh. “You can come in if you want.”
Nobara takes the invitation. She slips into the room, shutting the door behind her. She gives her eyes a moment to adjust to the dark before padding over to Maki’s bed. She climbs up onto it and sits next to Maki, careful to leave just enough space between them so they aren’t touching. “Do you want to talk about it?”
Maki shrugs. She scrubs at her eyes and sniffs again. Nobara stares down at her hands, pretending not to notice. Maki doesn’t let her guard down like this in front of people. Nobara has never once seen her cry - not before today, at least. Her tears are silent, but the lack of other noise amplifies every sniff.
Nobara waits. She assumes even sitting next to Maki right now is something she would only allow a select few individuals, and Nobara is not going to ruin that by pushing Maki to talk before she’s ready.
Nobara doesn’t know how long they sit in silence before Maki’s head drops onto her shoulder. Nobara freezes, hardly daring to so much as breathe, unsure if Maki is still awake or if she’s fallen asleep.
Then, Maki speaks. “How is it that you can make a decision you know was right, but still regret it?”
“I…I don’t know.” Nobara isn’t sure what decision Maki is referring to, but she gets the feeling that it somehow ties back to her family. She’s never met any Zen’in Clan members herself (Maki and Mai excluded) but given what she knows about them and what she knows about Maki, she would believe they are one of the few things that could make Maki cry.
And Nobara can’t blame her in the slightest. She knows she doesn’t have the full story of what it was like for Maki to grow up in the Zen’in Clan without cursed energy and the ability to see curses, but she knows enough. What she knows makes her sick - makes her want to cry, for Maki’s sake.
“I had to leave,” Maki whispers.
Oh.
A decision that was right, but one she still regrets.
“I wanted Mai to come with me, but she wouldn’t, so I had to leave her behind. I didn’t want to. Letting go of her was the hardest part of leaving.” Maki takes a deep breath. “I never let her know how bad it was there for me. I wanted to protect her.”
Nobara’s hand finds Maki’s and she squeezes, letting Maki know that she’s listening and she’s there.
Maki clears her throat. “If I had stayed, I would have died. Either they would have killed me, or—” her grip on Nobara’s hand tightens and her voice goes quiet, barely audible as she says, “or I would have killed myself.”
Nobara’s stomach drops at the confession. If Maki didn’t have a death grip on her hand, she’d have half a mind to go give the entire Zen’in Clan a piece of her mind right now. All she’d need would be a couple hairs from each of their heads and they’d never hurt Maki again.
“You have to be selfish sometimes,” Nobara tells her. “I didn’t want to leave my grandmother behind, but I knew I couldn’t go on living in that small town. There are times when you need to put yourself first. You can’t make everyone happy all the time.”
“I don’t want to make everyone happy,” Maki argues. “I just want Mai to be happy. But she’s not. She won’t be. And it’s my fault.”
“It’s not your fault. You didn’t decide she would train to be a sorcerer. That’s not on you.”
“But if I’d stayed, she wouldn’t have been forced into being a sorcerer.”
“Maki.” Nobara shifts, shrugging Maki’s head from her shoulder so she can look the other girl in the eye. It’s hard to see much in the dark, so Nobara can’t tell if there are still tears in Maki’s eyes or not. “I’m sure your sister wants you to be happy too. I know she wouldn’t want you to be dead.”
“It’s not her job to protect me—”
“It’s not always your job to protect her either.”
“She’s my little sister!” Maki looks down. “Besides, no one else is going to do it.”
“But she does have other people who will look out for her now,” Nobara points out. “She has friends from school. She has her teachers. You’ve made your own path, and now, you have to allow her to make hers. You have to trust that she’ll find a way to be happy like you have, because that is something only she can do.”
Maki is silent for several moments before she takes a deep, shaky, breath. “I know you’re right. It’s just… I don’t know. It’s hard.”
“Yeah,” Nobara agrees. “But don’t forget that you’ve got friends to help you through. I’ll always be here, whenever you need me.”
Nobara can just barely make out Maki’s smile. “Thank you, Nobara,” she says, and then she leans forward and pulls Nobara into a hug.
Nobara’s ears are still ringing with the sound of Maki saying her name, so it takes her a moment to reciprocate the hug. But she does, and she holds tight until Maki pulls away.
“Have you eaten dinner yet?” Nobara asks as Maki wipes her eyes again.
Maki hesitates, which is all the answer Nobara needs.
“Come on. I’ll sit with you while you eat, alright?”
Maki groans, but when she says, “Whatever,” Nobara can hear the smile in her voice. Nobara climbs off the bed, and drags Maki with her, hardly allowing Maki enough time to grab her glasses and shove them into her face one-handed.
And if they walk to the kitchen with their hands still entwined, nobody but them needs to know.

Tumblr media
Ever since his fake death, Itadori has been training alone with the help of Gojo - and now, he works along a freshly new face, who belongs to a senior, founds out ex-salaryman named Nanami Kento. He's far a thousand times more strict than Gojo. Itadori doesn't really likes the change, because Nanami is a person he can't get along. This whole guy's appearance scream "work 4 life"; he has proved different, now he screams "work is shit - but I gotta do it because others won't".
They've just finished cleansing the outside of a movie theater off a few curses, when Itadori hears shouting from far behind them. Two figures approach, waving excessively. He quickly picks on Nanami's tired sigh beside him.
"Nanami! We figured out you'd be here! Our mission has been finished and we wanted to catch up to have lunch together!" A male clad in a full black outfit shouts, he has brown hair and a beanie on top of his head, looking quite content.
The other person simply trots next to him in silence, approaching with a friendly smile. They notice Itadori faster than the male, smile widening and quickly waving hello, suddenly eager to reach up to them. The gesture makes the pink haired boy perk up, curious to why the other person looked so joyful. His question is easily answered, when they tug on the man's sleeve and motion to him.
"Ino, we have a third buddy!" The dude looks at him with widened eyes. "So nice to meet you, I'm Y/N L/N! It's great to see new faces around!"
Itadori smiles at your energy, knowing already he would click with you very well.
"I'm Ino Takuma, sorry for not noticing you before! Your uniform looks cool." Itadori exchanges a few compliments with Ino, before the man turns to talk with Nanami, leaving him and you together.
"Yes! I'm Sukuna's vessel, Itadori Yuuji-desu! My type of woman is Jenn-"
You turn to him. "So, are you a first year?"
"Geh? Weren't you dead though?!"
"I was!- I am!- Please keep secret."
"Okay!"
"Ahem." Nanami coughs, drawing attention. "I requested you two to not come after me today. Itadori here is the reason why."
"That's no problem, we're very capable of keeping secrets." You threw your arm over Itadori's shoulder, him nodding along with you.
"Oh really, then remember to keep quiet about it. I'll let this slide." The group of students nervously at Nanami's intimidating tone. "But, I'll get to have my break alone."
"Gah!" Ino exclaimed, watching Nanami walk away; he also left the responsability of taking care of Itadori for you two, leaving without a word. "It really had to be today, when Nanami would take us to his favorite bakery..."
"Crybaby." You teased. "Itadori here can't go outside where anyone can see him, he's dead. So, we were to order food either way because he shouldn't be left out."
"Augh okay, it would be unfair."
"So, where are you staying Itadori?"
"At Gojo's state!"
"Whoa, I've never been there before." Ino commented, waiting as you sent a message to Ijichi to pick them up.
"He's my teacher, a very cool one!"
"I imagine! Ooookay, once we get there I'll get the food."
Itadori felt as his chest would burst of excitement, finally there was people around him again, he couldn't be less happy about it.
"Sharing is caring!"
Itadori laughed as you wrestled with Takuma for some fries, netflix long forgotten in the background, as watching the banter was way more entertaining. Most of the time, Ino rambled a lot about Nanami, while he rambled a lot about Gojo. The guy even showed him the cool scar under his beanie. He felt kinda upset after explaining the exchange was just temporary, his stay under Nanami's wing wasn't decisive, and therefore, he was more like a classmate than a partner.
Itadori also learned a lot about you. He was surprised to find out that you, although energetic, was the one to speak the lesser in conversations. His surprisement grew even bigger when you told him you're a exchange student from Kyoto, arriving Tokyo about the same month as him - thankfully, you were to say for good.
Conversations flowed easily in the air, until a voice from the doorway barged in.
"Yuuji-kun! Don't forget about your lessons! Hi kids! Bye kids!" Gojo said playfully, throwing the familiar punching bear to Itadori before leaving.
"What's this thing?" Ino asked.
"It's to help me control my cursed energy. So while I watch the movies, if I don't charge it with cursed energy it punches me square in the face. I thought I had mastered this thing already, but he insist I keep training with it." Itadori grumbles.
"At least it's cute." You commented, taking a sip of your drink.
"Until it punches you in your face without warning!" The pink haired boy barks.
The talks died down, the three of you eating quietly when another movie is played on the screen. Itadori didn't bother reading the title, it was a plain one about a zombie apocalypse that got him extremely bored, yet he kept watching still so the plushie didn't punch him in the face again; he's been keeping a record since all his last cursed energy training lessons were a sucess to this day. When his head started nodding and eyelids dropping Itadori can't remember well, about fourty five minutes of movie perhaps? Make it fifty, the second slumber took over his body completely.
When he awoke once again, it was near midnight, the clock on the wall told him so. He also noticed a soft and warm surface supporting his head, figures, it's your shoulder he's resting into, he feels an arm around his own shoulders and your cheek placed upon his hair.
"Hey, it's late." You immediately notices he's awake, calling out softly. "You should sleep on your room, or something, better to your spine."
He chuckles when you poke his side. "But I'm comfortable here."
"I'm surprised, you just met me today, and now is sleeping on my shoulder."
"I'm not, that happens often to me."
"Sleeping on people's shoulders?"
"No! Making friends quickly." Itadori likes your gentle warmth, your hug, everything makes him feel at home. "I met two more people before you for two weeks, but they can't see me, because I'm dead."
"So I'll keep you company, that's my new mission."
His eyes widen at that, a oh so little blush covering the tip of his ears.
"For how many time I slept anyway?" He asks.
"About two- no, three hours. You missed two movies, and this one is about to end."
"And you stayed here the whole time?" He motions to your shoulder.
"Yep. That reminds me I gotta pee."
Itadori grumbles, but quickly lifts himself off you, respecting your needs. That gives him some time to look around, he notices Ino is gone, and the plushie sits quietly at the other side of the couch, unmoving.
"Y/N! How did you manage to make it quiet down?" He's beyond bafflet.
"...que."
"What!"
"I said!" You arrive quickly at the doorframe, hands still wet from when you washed them. "I used my innate technique."
"Oh! How is it like?"
"It's kinda funny, gimme a moment." You left to wipe off your hands, coming back in a second. "So, just like Shoko, I produce reverse curse energy, but it's quite different than hers, I can't heal people. That's why we often call it positive energy instead. I can use it to soothe off negative energy, so the bear has no cursed energy right now."
"How does it works on people?" He felt very curious about everything, asking away like a kid.
"Since everyone has negative energy, it just makes you sleepy really. But when it comes to curses it's really practical, I can either weaken it or, if the curse is like grade three or four, I can slap them off existence completely by wiping all their energy." You were naturally proud of having a such versatile power, your own energy swirling with pride around you.
"That sounds amazing! Is it why I fell asleep though?"
"Nah, only if I did it on purpose. I guess you were just tired, hope you don't mind I decided to let you rest today."
"No way, it was a good nap."
You nodded. "By the way, Ino left to attend to a drinking party, he paid for our food."
"Drinking? Is he old?"
"Yeah, he's twenty." You chuckled, already expecting that kind of reaction.
"No way! He looks young just like us!"
"That's totally my reaction after I learned he's twenty!"
After that day, you started visiting Itadori weekly to daily, after exchanging numbers he made a little group with you and Ino, naming it the "Nanami trio". But really, he exchanges more texts with you in private, be them memes, cool images he wish to share, etcetera. Although, Ino wasn't left excluded, he ofter brough his xbox to connect to Itadori's tv room and you all would spend hours playing together; he just didn't spend much time with both of you as much. And that was okay.
For a few days, your connection with Itadori died down when he didn't reply to your texts. They would remain unread for some time, the longest being half a day, until he would spam apologies then move on with the topic. That became a routine until one day when you came over to check on Itadori unnanounced, needin to ease off your worries about the boy, only to find him sobbing in the middle of a hallway, staring ahead and beyond, his back to you.
"Ita-?"
"Egh!" Startled, he scrambled to wipe his eyes, turning to you. "H-hey, um, hi."
"What happened?"
"I- he-" His eyes didn't met yours, knuckles white in a death grip. You notice he has a few bandages thrown over his face and arms. The way his shoulders are drawn, as if he wants to shrink into himself is something you've experienced before.
"Something hard to talk about?"
He nods almost immediately, head still facing down.
"It's alright, come with me." You reach for his hands, grimacing slightly when his forceful grip is now on your hand, yet you don't comment on it. He follows you through the state wordlessly.
You two stop on the same tv room, sitting down on the couch. You then guide his head to your shoulder, gently massaging his scalp with the free hand.
"It's alright."
Those two words are chanted like a prayer for the next half hour, at some point, Itadori twisted his body towards yours and unknowingly caged you between him and the sofa arm. He embraced you with a force you didn't have in you, like he didn't want to lose one another. Painful or not, not a muscle moved on your body. He needed a shoulder to cry on.
Thirty minutes passed like seconds, you peered down only to find the boy confortably napping against your bosom; at some point you just became the cold side of the pillow to him. That's alright. It brings you joy to be the mom friend anyways. So you decided to join the sleepland aswell, arms still secured around his shoulders and the back of his head.
It feels like the nap hasn't been long, though, because you can feel Itadori's grip loosening and therefore, you're awake.
"Sorry if I broke any bones, in advance."
"Wow, and you only warn me now."
He laughs at your comeback, hands still secured around your waist.
"I'm surprised you let me uh, cuddle you for comfort - and sleep. I don't understand it? You just make me sleepy." He rambled, keeping eye contact with you while his head still rests on your chest.
"That's a piece of cake when you have younger siblings who seek for you every night they get a nightmare."
"Does that mean I can come to you again if I have a nightmare?" There it is, his togepi-kirby cutesy face.
"Are you four?"
"That's mean!" Itadori blushed, squeezing you on his arms. "I like the contact. It puts me at ease."
"Mm, do you want to talk about it?"
He gulped. "No, not really."
Your peach haired friend remained silent, and so did you. It seems he doesn't intend in letting you go soon, or he just really forgot to mention it. It gives them time to think, your younger sisted used to do that sometimes, back in Kyoto.
"Y/N, wanna watch anything?"
"Sure, have you watched Parasyte before?"
"No, let's give it a try then!" Itadori glances at the remote, then back at you - making you confused over his hesitation to move. He notices you noticed it, chuckling nervously. "To be honest, I don't wanna let go."
"It's hurting my back."
"SORRY I'M SORRY!" He jumped away from you like a cat would jolt away from a cucumber, making you snicker.
"It's okay, I just wanted to change positions."
And to tease you, but he didn't need to know that part.
He glared at you with a small pout, typing the initials of Parasyte on the search bar. Outside his line of vision, you were grinning like a idiot, his sweeteness took a tow on you. All the people of Tokyo you met really held a way different spirit from your classmates in Kyoto, Itadori being the nicest of all. It's surprising him being Sukuna's vessel to begin with; being honest, you felt drawn by it.
"Y/N, it's startiiiiing." He cut your daydreaming short, slumping on your side and propping his head on your shoulder.
"This again?" You throw an arm around his shoulders, very much like the first time he cuddled himself on you.
"Don't blame me, you're the one who wanted to change positions. Guess I'll just make some alterations since I'm awake this time!" One of his arms went behind your back and circled your waist, hand resting at your hip.
"It's definely different, since the other time you drooled on me."
"Hhgh, okay okay! Let me enjoy this." For perhaps the actual first time, you're able to watch without exchanging words with one another.
And this time, it's you who's head loll to the side, nose buried on his soft rose perfumed hair. Itadori doesn't comment on it yet, his free hand moves under your legs to lift your whole body up efortlessly when he senses you have fallen asleep.
"I remember you said it's bad for my spine, I wouldn't mind it... yours however."
The boy makes a beeline to the guest room, he sighs when there is no choice but open the door with his foot. Inside, he places you carefully in the soft bed.
Before he could leave, a hand reaches up for his sleeve.
"Itadori," He turned, looking at you. "Make me company?"
He giggles softly - you think it sounds like a highschool girl. "You should start calling me by my first name!" Itadori rambles as he climbs on the bed, arms wrapping around your waist in a motion you're familiar with.
"Yuuji, I'm tired, let me sleep."
"But I wanna talk more..." He pouts. "Also, are we, um, dating?"
You wriggle around, bringing his head down to peck on his forehead, teasing. "Correction, I want to date you."
"Uh, oh." A blush coats his face so quickly, you'd say someone dumped a bucket of red paint on his face.
"Is that a no?"
"No!"
"So it is a no."
"Christ, will you stop teasing for a second, I'm trying to talk here." He makes an angry version of his togepi-kirby face, you can't help but grin.
"You amuse me, but okay. I'll do it for you."
"Thanks." He blinks, the blush slowly fading away. "You know, I lied, not about the contact, I like the contact nonetheless-"
His hand moves to play with yours, such as tapping his tips against yours, or meassuring the palms.
"-it's you who brings me comfort."
It's also your turn to blush, that line was seriously charming.
"Yeah."
"Yeah?"
"Yes, we're dating now." You respond, a little eagerly. "Can I kiss you?"
"Please."
This is the best person I could ask for, Itadori thinks, keeping his eyes open as yours shut during the kiss, whom I won't change for anything else in this world.
When you both separate, Itadori feels drowsy and sleepy. His face fits perfectly on your shoulder as always.
"Goodnight, my favorite person."

masterlist
“Take a break!” The heavy rake is tossed to the ground, and you struggle for air, panting and coughing. Torturing you with the rake-swinging seemed to be Geto’s objective today, and it’s taking the life out of your body.
As you rest on your back - facing the sky - there’s a massive gust of air above you, and you tilt your head back to see a tiny, raven haired boy standing above you. He’s fanning you eagerly, face scrunched up in frown as he exerts all of his energy on the fan. Your first reaction is to stare at the child in fascination; the next is to laugh.
“Junpei…” you chuckle, and the child stops, letting the fan drift to his side. “You’re too sweet.” He nods once, huffing out a short breath, then starts fanning you again, making your hair blow back behind your ears.
“Giving Lady y/n a nice breeze, Junpei?” Geto asks, walking towards you two with the rake in his hand.
“Yes, Master Geto,” Junpei affirms, scrunching his face up even more as he increases  the force of his fanning. Geto leans on the rake and watches the scene with a small smile on his face, and you allow Junpei to continue his task for a moment longer before standing. You grin at the child, placing a hand on his head as you murmur:
“Thank you, sweet one.” His hair bobs as he bows to you, then to Geto, and dashes off into the camp once more. You watch the child run off, his hair flying in the stale air of the mid-day.
“You have quite a few admirers, I see,” Geto begins, and you shake your head. “First, little Itadori, now Junpei… who’s next, I wonder?”
“I would like to wager a certain General would be next in line to try and win my hand,” you reply; Geto straightens up immediately and walks closer to you, a lazy grin painted on his face.
“Well, it seems that General might have quite a difficult time getting past your growing line of suitors.” You both chuckle, and Geto tilts up your chin with a forefinger. You’re prepared to kiss him - well, that is until he stops and says:
“Only six more sets of ten swings to go.”
_______________________________________________________________________
You can barely bring your spoon to your lips during lunch.
“My Lady, do you require assistance?”
You shake your head no, but your arms are screaming please help us.
It was one thing to have to swing until the sun went down. It’s an entirely different thing to not only swing seventy times but also run laps around the field like a soldier in training. You felt exhausted by the third lap, but Geto encouraged you to run more; his hands on his knees as he watched you turn into a floundering fish on land.
The other women surely watched you train with a curious eye. No one dares to ask why you allow Geto to reduce you to mush in full view of the camp, even though they know why you let him do it.
Because he turns you to mush when they’re not watching, as well.
“Master Geto?” Kaori shouts, standing from her seated position on the tarp laid out in the grass.
“No, don’t!” you cry out, but she’s already trudging down the field, leaving you behind as she calls Geto’s name over and over again. You curse softly, sitting down your soup with agonizing slowness and try to stand from where you’re sitting, but your legs will not move an inch.
“She can barely move; how do you expect her to eat lunch and remain healthy if you render her arms useless? Then you walk off, leaving her to her own devices! You don’t pay me enough to feed her like you do during dinner.” Kaori is stomping back up to you, followed closely by Geto, who is shrugging on his haori and appears to be rather alarmed. “You should take better care of your captives, Master Geto. Look at her!”
You try your best to look as painless as possible, but the facade is broken when Geto extends a hand out and you grimace as you try to reach your own hand out. His face falls instantly and without speaking, he hoists you up into his arms. “Kaori, bring her soup, please. I’ll feed her myself.” Your head rests against his broad chest limply, and the way that his heart beats wildly against your ears oddly soothes you. You’re in pain, yes, but you’re not completely immune to the way he makes your heart stutter and trip over itself when he’s near you. And you’ve never been as near to him as you are now.
“When you are in pain, you need to say something,” Geto chastises as he lays you in the bed, folding a fur up before resting you against it and sitting beside you. “Kaori made it sound like you were dying.”
“I wasn’t dying,” you retort. “I tried to prevent her from saying anything.”
“So, you thought I wouldn’t find out later?” When the head maid deposits the soup bowl into Geto’s hands, he looks up at you and raises a brow.
“No, I--”
“Open.” A spoonful of clear onion soup is presented to you, and you obey, knowing your argument is completely lost already. “It’s my duty to make sure you’re taken care of while you’re here,” he continues, offering another spoonful. “You should let me know when you’re struggling, or when you need something.”
Your mouth is full of soup, so you can’t reply like you want to. But what would you even say? Would you tell him that you’ve been struggling between your plan - which had been altered slightly over the past few days - or would you tell him you needed him in more ways than one?
“Master Geto,” a voice calls out at the opening of the tent. You don’t recognize the voice at all, but when the person walks through the flaps, you recognize his face. His wide, dark blue eyes are all-too familiar, and the young man’s mouth presses together in a thin line at the sight of you being spoon-fed by Geto. This is the same man who captured you when you tried to run away the first time.
“Yuta, I’m glad you’re here. What do you have for me?” Yuta… The name rings a bell along with the memory of Nanami mentioning him when talking about the new emissary. Yuta produces a thin roll of brown paper and hands it to Geto.
“They’re not going to send another emissary.” The implications of this knowledge brings the weight of the world down on your shoulders, and you look to Geto’s face, which is blank.
“Wait, but that means--” you’re quickly interrupted by Yuta’s sharp eyes cutting to you, and Geto chuckles.
“That means I’d better get you all settled in the next village as soon as possible.”
_______________________________________________________________________
“What if the elders don’t agree to his plan?” you wonder aloud, and Kaori runs water down your arms before answering softly.
“Then he will wipe the village out, my Lady.”
“But how? And single handedly?”
“I won’t claim to know how he does it. I have never been privy to his methods, nor would I want to be.”
You think about Kaori’s words long after the bath was over, alone in the bedroom and wrapped in furs. The thought of Geto slaughtering an entire village is chilling, but his truly ruthless side was not something you had been exposed to. You shake thoughts of death out of your mind and stand from the bed, dragging the fur pelt behind you as you stride over to Geto’s desk to eye his newest plans.
The page full of black and red ink marks is unfamiliar to you, and you can’t make heads or tails of the drawings despite looking at it from different angles. The mystery of the paper engrosses you fully - so much so that you don’t hear someone approaching you from behind.
“They’re formations.” Yuta speaks behind you, and you jolt, knocking your hip against the table.
“I b-beg your pardon?” you stutter, clutching the pelt around you tightly.
“Formations... for battle.”  Yuta reaches over to point at a circle and then to the arrows moving away from it. “This is the center of the formation - where Master Gojo will be - and this,” he points to the triangle at the head of the formation. “Is where Master Geto will be.”
“Why is Gojo well-protected and not Geto?” The inquiry is met with laughter as Yuta slides the paper away from you.
“He’s not being protected. He’s protecting everyone else.”
“And when is this occurring?” Yuta raises a brow, looking over at you with a tender gaze.
“Haibara and Gojo are negotiating with the closest village as we speak, but we could encounter the Imperial Warriors at any time. This could happen tomorrow, if I’m being honest.”
“Tomorrow?” Your shock doesn’t affect the young man at all, and he steps away from you, eyeing you carefully.
“I won’t say anything further. Geto is protecting you from this information for some reason, and has obviously commanded Kaori to say nothing as well.” With this, he exits, and you’re left looking at the squares, circles, and triangles while wondering where you fit into all of this mess.
_______________________________________________________________________
Your encounter with Yuta gave you more questions than answers, and when the bed dips behind you, you roll over to meet Geto face to face, intent on getting answers.
“I thought you were asleep.” You don’t respond to the statement, instead sitting up fully and pushing your hair out of your eyes.
“You should have told me that you could go to war at any time.” Geto frowns, sliding in next to you and tilting his head to the side.
“I’m waiting on word from Haiba--”
“And that. What happened to my village after you took me?”
“Little one, I haven’t touched your village. You would know if I made any decisions about the fate of your peers.”
“Kaori doesn’t know what happened to her family, and she’s just a maid! Why would you feel obligated to tell me - a captive - about my family?”
“You’re more than just a captive to me, y/n. You know that,” he whispers, blinking slowly.
“Right, I’m a pawn,” you grunt. “I asked you to tell me your game, and now I’m asking you again. What do you plan on doing with me while you’re away at war? I know you’re not stupid enough to leave me here while you’re away and can’t keep an eye on--”
Geto puts up a hand, trying to stop you from speaking. “You’re right, I hav--”
“Did you know I tried to run away?” The General looks at you, face blank. “But I came back and…” You fumble for the words, but they don’t feel right in your mouth. So, you rephrase. “I came back because…” You pause. You remember the reason you justified coming back, but it doesn’t make sense now. You can’t even say you followed your own plan. It had fallen by the wayside the moment Geto’s lips met yours; that you knew for a fact.
“Nanami watched you; I knew you left the tent the moment you began walking across the camp,” he admits, and your lips part in surprise. “But you turned around. I came to confront you after dinner, and that’s why I was at the tent when you started to yell. My anger overshadowed my disappointment, but then even that was overshadowed by my desire to have you.”
“Then why--”
“I’m not leaving you here; you’re absolutely right about that. I wanted to wait to tell you when the time was right, but… I suppose now is the time. Your carriage will leave as soon as Gojo and Haibara send word back to me about the village. I’m sending you home.”

The Ending He Deserved (JJK imagine)
I’ve recently been reading the manga and rewatching the anime with my roommates and because of this, I realize that I’m still not over them killing Junpei so this is the fic that remedies that awful decision!
Tagging @haikyuufairy and @concussed-to-pieces! I love you both, kisses
WC: 2.3k (ignore the shitty ending, I’m tired)
“Junpei run! Run and use my phone to call Nanamin! Please just get out of here!” Yuuji shouts, tossing his phone at the shorter boy. Junpei gives a frantic glance over his shoulder at Mahito, a brief moment of hesitation filling his head before the pink haired sorcerer shoves him down the hallway. He frantically races down the corridor and stumbles his way down the staircase as he scrolls through Yuuji’s contacts in search of the person named Nanamin.
He hits the dial button and seconds after pressing the phone to his ear, a gruff voice answers, “Itadori-kun, you better not be at the high school after I specifically told you to stay with Ijichi.” Junpei draws in a sharp breath and blurts out, “Please, you have to hurry, I think Mahito is going to try and kill Yuuji, please I don’t want him to die!” The man on the other end gives a sigh, as if he’s unsurprised by the young man’s defiance, then replies, “I’ll be there in two minutes. Please keep yourself hidden from the curse.”
The phone falls silent and Junpei hurries into a storage closet, holding his breath while the fighting on the floor above continues.
Minutes, maybe even hours pass and he’s tempted to peek out of the space to see if the battle between Yuuji, Mahito, and the stranger has come to an end when footsteps come closer to his hiding spot. He freezes against the wall as his shoulders shake with his panic. What if Mahito had killed the two sorcerers? Does he run? His Shikigami is weak after it’s small spat with Yuuji and truthfully, he’s not sure if he could even stand a chance against the curse.
A soft knock sounds at the door and he clenches his eyes closed. If he didn’t move or make a sound, perhaps Mahito would look elsewhere. But the person knocks again and it dawns on him that the long haired man wouldn’t bother with such niceties. He pushes the door open and sure enough, Yuuji and a stranger stand on the other side, both looking ragged.
He blows out a deep breath and crashes into the pink haired teen with a sob. Itadori returns the hug with a pat to his back, chiming, “I’m really glad you’re okay, Junpei.” The stranger glances around the hallway then states, “We should get going. There’s no telling whether that curse is going to come back or not. Gojo should also know what happened here.”
Junpei’s eyebrows furrow together at the unfamiliar name then the man turns to the teenagers, introducing himself as Nanami Kento, a grade one sorcerer. Itadori leans in close and mumbles, “He doesn’t let us call him Nanami-sensei, so Gojo-sensei and I call him Nanamin. You can too.” The two begin to walk down the staircase but Junpei stays still, tears trekking down his cheeks. They pause at the sudden sound of sobs then turn to face the young man, as Yuuji asks, “Hey, what’s wrong?”
“You- you’re just going to take me in? Just like that? I almost killed you! A-And I was working with a curse! Isn’t that against your rules or something like that? Taking in someone that was trying to kill one of your students?” Junpei cries out, stumbling to his knees.
The sorcerer gives a small sigh and places a gentle hand on his shoulder, before he explains, “From what I understand, Mahito compelled you to use your cursed technique to get revenge for your mother and punish the ones that tormented you. You’re just a scared, confused child who doesn’t understand the power that he’s been given. As a Jujutsu sorcerer, it is my job to help you gain a better understanding of your technique and how you can use it for good. But of course, the final say is up to the principal and he’s taken in a lot of children like yourself.”
Junpei sniffles at the explanation Nanami provides then Yuuji urges his friend to his feet, chirping, “Besides, I’m possessed by the King of Curses and you don’t see them turning me away! How can they say no to you?” Junpei leans into Itadori’s side and they continue to walk downstairs until they arrive in the parking lot where a dark haired man stands next to a car.
The man begins lecturing Itadori about the dangers of confronting Junpei after Nanami had specifically forbid him from doing so, only to pause when he noticed the older teenager standing behind the sorcerers. He glances at the grade one sorcerer with a questioning look, only for the blond man to give a small nod of approval.
The thin man slides into the driver’s seat then asks, “Are we going to see Gojo-san and the principal?” Nanami takes the passenger seat and confirms the driver’s thoughts.
-
“My my, another second year? How exciting!” Gojo chirps, leaning forward with a bright grin. The principal maintains an unreadable expression then turns to Nanami, asking, “What do you think? Will this boy turn on us to help the curses?”
The blond removes his glasses and rubs at his eyes as he answers, “Truthfully? I don’t believe he will, considering that it was a curse responsible for placing one of Sukuna’s fingers in his home and it killed his mother. Once he understands that, I truly think that he will never want to be near another curse without exorcising it.”
The principal glances at the two teenagers slumped on the couch, curled underneath a blanket, then sighs as he asks, “Well, Gojo, do you think you can take on another student?” The white haired man’s grin widens then he exclaims, “Of course I can! Yuuji is a quick learner and Megumi and Nobara are in the safe hands of our trusty second years for another month! By what Yuuji says, Junpei learned how to use his cursed energy to create a jellyfish shikigami powerful enough to poison an entire gymnasium of people in just a matter of a few days. I think he’ll make an excellent addition to the group!”
Masamichi pulls out the pile of paperwork for Junpei’s transfer into Jujutsu Tech and warns, “Fine. But you two are in charge of them. Make sure that they don’t see the other students until the Sister Event, do you understand me?” Gojo salutes at the order and chimes, “You got it, boss! I promise I’ll get them into tip-top shape by the event!”
-
“Um, Gojo-sensei, are you really sure this is the way we should announce Yuuji still being alive? After all, it’s almost been two months.” Junpei asks, fixing the collar of his uniform. The white haired sorcerer pouts at the teenager’s question then whines, “Awww, Junpei, do you really think that your sensei’s idea is a bad one?”
“Yes, and I’m pretty sure Nanamin advised you against this method too.” the second year reminds the man as Yuuji hurries around the room in search of his uniform shirt. Gojo shrugs and replies, “Ahh, come on, Junpei, have a little faith in me! It’s gonna be great!”
Junpei should have known better than to have trust in Gojo’s ridiculous plan. They approach the groups of teenagers with Gojo pushing the box containing an excited Yuuji and his sensei begins handing out gifts to the Kyoto sorcerers, before turning back to his students.
Megumi and Kugisaki tilt their heads at the appearance of Junpei but before they get the chance to ask who he was, Yuuji bursts from the white box with a shout, grinning at his friends. Judging by the look on their faces, Junpei could tell that this plan had indeed not gone the way Itadori and Gojo had been hoping for.
He settles beside the panda as Megumi and Nobara continue to grill Yuuji about his death and why he had been gone if he had been alive all this time. The brown haired girl smacks at her friend’s shoulders, shouting, “Stupid, stupid, I can’t believe you let us think you were dead! I’m never forgiving you for this!”
Fushiguro begins to fill Yuuji in on his own anger, but Maki, the second year with glasses, claps her hands together and snaps, “We don’t have time for this right now. You guys can yell at him later. We need to figure out our game plan now that we have Itadori and Yoshino. So, what can you two do?”
All eyes shift to Junpei and he glances to the floor as he murmurs, “I control poison shikigami. I’ve gotten really good at controlling the dosage so I can either slow a person down or exorcise a curse completely.” Surprise spreads throughout the room and Inumaki, the Cursed Speech user, says, “Bonito flakes.”
Panda nods in agreement (though Junpei wasn’t sure what he was agreeing to) then replies, “Yeah that’s true. Itadori, what exactly can you do?” The pink haired teen turns towards his upperclassman and replies, “Oh I do hand to hand mainly.”
The second years stare at him for a moment then seem to share a silent conversation among the three of them, before Maki gives a definitive nod, instructing, “All right, it’s settled then. Itadori, you and Yoshino will take on Todo. Since you can poison people, you can slow him down and Itadori will take him completely out of the game. Nobara, you're going to take out Nishimiya. Panda, handle Mechamaru. I’ll handle Miwa and Mai. Inumaki, find the curses and kill them. Megumi, I want you on Kamo. Understand?”
Nods of agreement go around the room and they begin to disperse, only for Fushiguro and Kugisaki to call Junpei back into the room. The second year turns on his heel and Yuuji gives an inquisitive look over his shoulder, only for the older teenager to wave him on, insisting, “It’s okay, I’ll catch up.” He settles back in a chair and waits for one of the first years to begin the conversation that he’s sure they’ve been brewing over since he and Yuuji arrived today.
“How did you join Jujutsu Tech?” Megumi asks, clearly cutting to the chase. Junpei sighs, realizing that Gojo had neglected to tell the first years (and likely the second years) about how he came to join the school. He fidgets with his fingers and explains, “I came in contact with a curse who taught me the basics of cursed energy and techniques. He tried to convince me to join his ranks but Yuuji found me and convinced me to come with him. The principal and Gojo decided that since the curses killed my mom, they could help me out.”
“Why didn’t you come to training with the other second years?” Nobara asks, crossing her arms over her chest. He scratches at the back of his neck and replies, “Truth be told, I’m not exactly sure but I’m guessing it’s because Gojo and Nanamin didn’t want to make it seem like I was replacing Yuuji.”
The two nod in understanding and she begins to ask another question, only for Maki to enter the room again, demanding, “Oi, it’s time to go, you can do Q and A later!” The two first years jump to their feet and exclaim, “Right, Maki-senpai!”
Junpei truthfully isn’t expecting much from this Todo guy. Megumi explains that he’s the one who’s hair is shaped as a pineapple and he snickers at the reminder before Panda suggests, “If you’re not scared of heights, you should hide in one of the trees where you’re somewhat close to the ground but not too high. Nishimiya flies on a broom and has a hell of an eye. The longer you can stay hidden, the better it works for Itadori and in turn, us.”
He nods in understanding and as the bell goes off, he hurries to the closest tree that’s full of branches and leaves aplenty. The plan he and Yuuji had devised was that the rest of the team would separate, drawing Todo to their position. He watches from above as Todo and Itadori begin to fight hand to hand and he waits for the signal of Megumi’s wolf before he releases the poison. A howl fills his ears and he summons his shikigami, one large enough to surprise Todo but small enough to prevent attention from Nishimiya.
As he prepares to have his shikigami strike at Todo, the scenery changes and soon, Yuuji is surrounded by the rest of the Kyoto students. Junpei tenses at the sudden change in the atmosphere and realizes that this was not a fun little competition for these country people, but they seem to have murderous intent. His phone buzzes in his pocket and he pulls it out quickly, realizing that it was Megumi on the line. He hits the answer button and rushes out in a whisper, “Targets sighted. I think they’re trying to kill Yuuji.”
The first year groans, clearly calling to deliver the same news, then Maki is on the phone, ordering, “Poison them all. We’ll be there in a minute.” Junpei allows his shikigami to grow larger until the plumpness of the jellyfish bursts through the trees, revealing itself. The students whip to face him and he shouts for the shikigami to strike now.
The blue haired girl slashes at the tentacle with her blade, only for another to plant in the meat of her thigh. She stumbles with the pain of the poison and the dark haired girl, Mai, draws a gun and begins to fire at the shikigami. Junpei clasps his fingers together and presses his thumb together tight, to make the jellyfish translucent. She curses at the sudden disappearance of the shikigami and the long haired teen, Kamo, if memory serves Junpei right,  hunches over at the sharp jab of the tentacle.
Chaos continues to ensue as Maki and Megumi appear in the opening, slamming into their targets with blunt forces and other shikigami.
With a grin, Junpei realizes that this school was like no other. And he couldn’t wait to see what else it had in store for him.

Scenario: Nanami tried his hardest to be indifferent. He was a working man that dealt with death on the daily. Hence why when death knocked on Y/N’s door, Nanami wasn’t surprised.
Word Count: 444
Tumblr media
Nanami Kento
“So we’re storming the curse’s base?”
Nanami pushed up his glasses, “Not we, Y/N and I will go alone to do some reconnaissance.” An inaudible sigh left his lips as Itadori visibly deflated. Were students always this eager to fight curses? Back in his day he only recalled being dragged along by Y/N after he stubbornly refused to take any jobs. The man glanced back at his partner, who merely snickered at his annoyance.
“Don’t worry Itadori!” Y/N cooed, “Trust your teachers!”
“I am not his teacher,”
“Ignoring Nanami,” A pointed glare was sent in his direction, “You have your own job! Ijichi will fill you in.”
Nanami considered himself cool-headed and logical. In a field that was rather illogical, Nanami prided himself with his sense of reason. Unlike a certain coworker of his, he could not rely on his sheer strength and willpower. When a choice was given to him on the battlefield, he always opted for the decision that gave him the upperhand. Nanami didn’t have the luxury to be picky, but he wished he did.
For the first time in his life, Nanami wished he was Gojou Satoru. The man was a egotistical asshole, but even the bespectacled male could not deny his prowess. If he were Gojou…he would not be cradling the body of his lover. There wouldn’t be a gaping hole in their torso, and they wouldn’t be struggling to breathe. Gojou wouldn’t have had to prioritize the dispelling of a curse over the life of his partner.
Their final moments would be spent in a cramped sewer; with transfigured corpses scattered around, and a trail of blood that led down the corridor. What a shitty end for a person who chose a shitty job. Nanami couldn’t help but feel like an extra shitty person. He was pathetic and weak, something Gojou could never be.
Maybe he should’ve stayed put as an office worker. He might’ve been off in the countryside by now living a quiet life, but alas here he was. Hopelessly in love with the dying sorcerer in his arms.
He could still recall the numerous late night conversations with Y/N. They were held when no one was around and when they could safely hold hands without prying eyes. Nanami would call himself a fool for returning to the sorcerer line of work, while Y/N would nod along as they rubbed small circles into his hand.
They signed over their lives to fight curses, an early death was inevitable. It was a wordless agreement. Yet, Nanami could not stop the sole tear that escaped his eye. Love was fleeting, especially in the life of a jujutsu sorcerer.
