Love how I can have exactly ONE design by a semi-popular artist on the site and get accused of "hoarding" the design because I won't trade it.

Yeah bro, the person with one singular design is TOTALLY a hoarder, and it's not the guy who owns like 20+ designs from that artist and is going around begging everyone who owns one of that artist's designs to trade them to them. It's TOTALLY not actually YOU hoarding those designs because you're TOTALLY letting other people have that artist's designs without a fight!

Like, I'm not one to think character hoarding is a real thing since it's just people bitching about users who have more characters than they do or they feel like they're "not being used enough" by their owners for various reasons. But this? Yeah I think this is something I'd consider actual hoarding in a sense. They buy up every single design produced by that artist and if someone else manages to get one, they immediately go and harass them into trading it. Bro legit just won't let other people own that user's designs. If someone gets a character you want and won't trade it, just leave it be. It's not going to kill you if you only own 28/30 popuser designs.

It's one thing I lowkey kinda hate about the trading scene on this site, ngl. People treat the characters more like trading cards than actual characters and they seem to have the assumption that literally everyone else on the site has the same mindset. "Oh, well if I had that popuser design, I'd use it to sell and buy popuser2's design because that's higher quality!" or whatever. And then when someone gets that popuser design and actually treats them as intended by drawing them, putting them into a story, or whatever else, it's like they take offense to that. Like, sorry you feel that way I guess, but some people are only interested in the trading scene in order to get characters they actually want to USE for stuff instead of shoving them in a box and hoping the value increases like some sort of vintage toy or something.
