I saw a post about lesser known fics yesterday and decided to try to boost some of my faves. They are under 500 kudos and deserve so much more. (I know that kudos and hits don't mean much at the end of the day, but...)

i really wanted more gem and mumbo interactions this series because they were so fun in secret life but i really didn't think it would culminate in mumbo spending the better half of his series desperately trying to kill gem to the point of begging and pleading only to end up dying multiple times himself. and yet it was still everything i wanted and more

So, uh...anybody here, who wants to see that flashback from Silver's past, we would have gotten, if the Treasure Planet sequel had been realized? No? Just me? Okay.

I wanted to do that character concept of young adult John Silver since I knew about the cancelled sequel. But I always felt like I would not be able to do him justice, because he is not an easy-to-draw guy.

Then, a few days ago, I just grabbed a few ref pictures and started with sketching the images on the second picture. It took me quite a while to get a hang of his features, but in the end I really do like my design and I had so much fun drawing his different expressions <3

I imagined him to be in his early twenties, when he still had both of his eyes and all of his limbs. And before his girlfriend left him, which ultimately lead him to become the pirate we all know.

Damn, I love this dude so much...and I still want this frickin' sequel!! But even more I want to see a whole movie about his past. That would be so intriguing and awesome! OO

Buck doesn’t need to be told twice, instantly digging his fork into the food. The noise Buck makes when he takes the first bite is obscene and Eddie nearly chokes on his own tongue at the sound of it.

“Is it safe to say you think it’s good?” Eddie asks.

“Good is underselling it by a mile. Holy shit, Eddie, you can cook. You make me and Bobby proud.”

Eddie rolls his eyes, but the praise still warms him from the inside out, starting in his chest and radiating to his other extremities. “Really? You think so?”

“Yes. Seriously, if you’re ever in the mood to cook something else, please allow me to be your taste tester.”

“Okay.” Eddie breathes out evenly. For the first time in a few weeks, he feels…calm. There’s no jitters, no restlessness, no prickle at the base of his neck, signaling an upcoming panic attack. Maybe he can invest a little more time and energy into this cooking thing. “Sounds like a plan.”

OR: With Christopher in El Paso, Eddie finds himself with too much idle time and the desire to channel it into something productive.

He cooks. Buck is supportive. They fall in love.
