Oughhhh this AU is my beloathed baby. I am SO IN LOVE with the idea but the setting is a major headache. Anyone looking to create a historical Star Wars AU is faced with a conundrum: do you vaguely map the gffa onto your chosen historical setting, turning planets and systems into cities and counties and inventing a few religions and cultures while you're at it, or do you go full history major and slam your dick on the table and say NO. THIS IS SET IN THE REAL WORLD WITH REAL HISTORY FACTS. PAIN AND SUFFERING. CITATIONS IN THE AUTHOR'S NOTE.
But be that as it may! We're here for some good old Asajj and Dooku bonding time. It's so difficult to write anything wholesome yet adventurous about them in the canonverse, so what if Asajj were to be accused of witchcraft and took refuge in the castle of a local Count?
Just. Man. Asajj being turned away from every town and village for looking odd and doing odd things and possibly other crimes, only to be taken in and secretly harbored by the county's ruler. She wasn't free before, and she isn't free in the castle either, but she's safe. For now! Because Dooku isn't immune to accusations of witchcraft himself! And there's a whole town to deal with!
Sadly there are no snippets yet bc I'm still waffling about what path to take with the setting but yeah this one is one of my favorites <3

#keyword: adding#in digimon conflicts come about as a result of independent viewpoint differences#ie takuya vs kouji. taichi vs yamato#or (since i just watched 02:the beginning) lui and ukkomon’s conflict is SO GOOD#it BUILDS to something. lui and ukkomon’s disagreement builds up to: they need to communicate. they both come from a good-faith angle#ukkomon so desperately wanted to make lui happy and failed to look closer to see what WOULD - and lui didn’t know how to express#what he actually wanted to ukkomon. or try to reach out to ukkomon in turn instead of basking in his life finally going ‘right’#but then not as much in idw gives me that good feeling of ‘ahhh they built to this and it is so nice’#or when conflict is created it isn’t because despite best efforts people clash and have to work together#it’s when someone does a stupid and someone else has to pick it up#it means a lot when you see kouji driven to press takuya to the wall and see them shout at each other#because they both have to realize that with words they will never convince the other of their viewpoint.#even though they both think the way the other looks at things will get the group killed#and of course it makes sense that the group would follow takuya. he’s their heart. their core#takuya’s the reason tomoki stayed in the digital world and junpei and izumi find confidence being there because he’s there rallying them#and in this case that good trait winds up being wrong. he gets everyone captured by the enemy and thinks theyre all better off if he wasn’t#part of the group from the start. but THAT isn’t true either - he just needs a BALANCE of his excellent helpful determination and willpower#and seeing things as they are and not as he believes them to be - more like kouji#he WAS wrong but not for HAVING the traits he had - for leaning too much on them#or (also going to a media im currently engaging in) sundered star. things go bad between people a LOT but it’s not frustrating.#it’s SATISFYING/ENGAGING seeing feferi leave eridan and watching eridan go insane and give in to the horrorterrors. of course it couldnt-#-go any other way for them. eridan wouldnt change until he realized he could lose feferi and feferi wouldnt bring him any real consequences#-to make him consider that until she was leaving and would never come back. and it was never her fault that leaving eridan lead to-#-catastrophe and devastation. it just happened as a consequence anyway#anyways i guess. if i see the characters do their best and things still fall apart it’s better than#seeing an idiot plot or characters written to be worse than they were to make conflict happen#with takuya he wasn’t suddenly bad or misjudging everything. he just didnt have to deal with negative consequences for misjudging before-#-because they hadnt met someone like duskmon that they COULDNT eventually beat before. even gigasmon who wrecked them all at first-#-was beaten once they had beast spirits and were on equal footing. so takuya assumes the same for duskmon without realizing that#they arent on the same level. so the issue didnt come from nowhere - it just comes to a head now

video called "pirate shirt tutorial that actually makes sense" with a thumbnail clickbaitingly copying bernadette banner's style, which does the exact same thing as bernadette banner's video but more confusingly and without a diagram in the video itself, also failing to understand that bernadette banner's channel is primarily a history channel and not a sewing tutorial channel so telling people they don't have to hand-sew the pirate shirt or they don't have to thread-pull is unnecessary because bernadette banner literally said "do this however you want, i just do it this way because it's how i learn about historical dress practices" in her own video. couldn't ask for better youtube entertainment

life is falling through my fingers more that usually
#i’ve been in a pretty much constant state of panic since january#and it’s gotten worse recently bc of 1. thesis writing (or lack thereof)#2. administrative problems at uni that i caused due to the constant state of anxiety and depression#like whyyyy do things like going to the uni office send me spiraling like nothing else#and i’ve been feeling weird and disconnected for a while now and nothing seems to interest me anymore#like i’m light headed in the worst way and i think if one thing goes badly i’ll genuinely fall down crying#and i can’t seem to do anything productive bc of the anxiety either#ok i checked usos. the administrative problem got more or less solved#oh thank god#i love depression loveee it love causing problems for myself that i later have to bother other people about bc i can’t solve them by myself#esp when you have to admit to them that mental illness is what caused them bc even when they’re sympathetic and nice about it i still feel#like such a pathetic idiot my god#also i’ve been thinking a lot abt how a pattern that repeats in my life is the lack of closure#from silly things to more serious ones#like how i didn’t attend my elementary school graduation nor the hs one#the first one bc of travelling and the second bc of covid#so i just closed my laptop and then went to pick up my diploma after matura results and that was it i never saw any of my teachers or#thanked them etc#and how all my friendships that died out were this kind of sudden drop like nothing happened but we just stopped talking one day and that#was it and idk where we stand#and how i seem to leave loose threads everywhere i go and i can’t tell if it’s just a coincidence or if i do that on purpose but#unconciously so as to not have to deal with things ending bc that scares me#i’ve never felt grounded in any moment and it’s so strange#also yeah yeah weird behaviour meant to save me from abandonment whatever#📓#niedziela wieczór i humor popsuty co mogę powiedzieć

guys i think I found something that makes me want to kill myself LESS oh my god
#im acting like this is some grand revelation but get this: literature#i used to read/write/analyze/study various languages so intensely in hs but by the time i hit 17 i was so mentally ill i couldn't do#anything but stay in my bed and house in general i was like so horribly suicidal until march 2022 ..#anyway enough back story like last year was rough too i was suicidal during most of winter and spring too..#but.#two semesters of advanced spanish. a lot of forcing myself out of my comfort zone later. still reeling from feeling idiotic and undeserving#of opportunities and praise. i have realised. i quite like this in comparison to everything else#am i still dealing with major depression? yeah. and the anxiety and the other thing too but its more bearable for the 80 minutes#im in Spanish class dissecting sentence structure and analyzing literary devices#so yeah. i had a good class today! highlight of my day was the morning lol#i fear for the rest of the day going to shit but its okay. at least i had a good hour so far today. a whole hour and thirty minutes!!!!#my spanksh professors have been so nice and cool i really wish them all the best#*spanish#¡Viva Latinoamérica! fr fr#z.post

I'll say it: "Oh all AI artists do is write a stupid description and immediately get an image with no effort, there's no art in that" is the new "Digital painting doesn't count as art because it takes no effort"
#Look I'm aware there're moral reasons to criticize AI art such as how corporations will use it#and the fact lots of models (not all however) use stolen content#But all you have to do is visit a forum dedicated to AI art to quickly realize it actually takes some effort to make quality images#And honestly from what I've seen those guys are often very respectful of traditional artists if not traditional artists themselves#Not a single bit of 'haha those idiots are working hard when they could simply use AI!' that Tumblr likes to strawman them as#Lots of 'So I did the base with AI and then painted over it manually in Photoshop' and 'I trained this model myself with my own drawings'#And I'm not saying there aren't some guys that are being assholes over it on Twitter#But when you go to an actual community dedicated to it. Honestly these guys are rather nice#I've seen some truly astounding projects#like there was this guy that was using people's scars to create maps of forests and mointains to sort of explore the theme of healing#And this one that took videos of his city and overlayed them with some solarpunk kind of thing#And this one that was doing a collection of dreams that was half AI amd half traditional painting#Anyway the point is you guys are being way too mean to a group of people that genuinely want to use the technology to create cool art#And while I'm aware there are issues related to its use#it's actually really fucked up you're attacking the individual artists instead of corporations???#It's as if you were attacking the chocolate guy over the systemic problems related to the chocolate industry!#And also tumblrs always like 'Oh AI is disgusting I hate AI art so I'll just hate in it without dealing with the issue'#While AI art forums often have posts with people discussing how go use it ethically when applied to commercial use!!#Honestly these guys are doing way more about tackling the issue than tumblr and you should feel bad!!!

How am I supposed to go from being ridiculed and judged for asking for help with my assignments/lessons in primary school to casually asking for help in college?? Am I supposed to act like my teachers and classmates didn’t screw me up in the head or
#college things#primary school things#no seriously#we were getting screamed at and made teachers disappointed if we did so much as ask for a simpler explanation or a repeat#and you expect me to casually ask my professors questions about my assignments???#emailing them is out of the question#they're gonna think I'm an idiot#which I am but no one needs to know that#it's so humiliating#shoutout to all the teachers and classmates who made me feel like a failure for not understanding everything right away#school trauma#I literally struggled to post ANONYMOUSLY on a discussion board once because I felt so stupid for asking a question#it doesn't help that I'm neurodivergent#and have a math disability#like it got so bad to the point where I was offended by people offering me help#because I was being indirectly told that needing help with your education is bad and that I should be ashamed#not to mention having the determine which classmates are nice and which ones will ruin your image if you ask for help#part of why I prefer working alone because I can't deal with that embarrassment#also yes this post helped me realize that school did in fact traumatize me in at least one way

why is my friend getting married on a tuesday
#this is the idiot friend w the teenage bf now teenage fiancé#i don't have a job yet but hopefully i will by july and im only applying to regualr mon-fri jobs#so i would need to use a vacation day on their wedding#when im already going to be blowing thru all my vacation time going to doctor appointments to not go blind.....lol#i thought most people got married on saturdays bc its easier for guest to come#maybe they picked a weird day so that less people would come but they wouldn't have to invite less people to keep the catering cheaper#would have been better to do a potluck wedding they're broke af and nobody would mind#anyway ugh#i dont want to be the mean unsupportive friend by skipping the wedding#even tho i am....not very supportive lol#skipping the wedding is a big deal i dont want to do that im not even telling them they're bejng dumb at this point#its too late#im trying to save the friendship so i have to go#but tuesday is really annoying#also there's a very solid chance they'll ask if they can do it at my house bc my yard is really nice#so i really cant skip it 😂#unless i cry abt going blind and make a big fuss but i dont want to do that either#this has been a shitpost#it probably genuinely didn't occur to them that tuesday would be difficult for anyone bc neither of them has ever had a full time job ever#they're 18 and 21#they're so unprepared to get married its scary lol#grown up jobs are a foreign concept to them#jk they def did it so that they could keep the wedding small without not inviting people#so now i have to be the bad friend and say i can't take off work or i have to give up a vacation day#and hope i wont run out pf vacation days for medical treatment#i cant wait until one of my nice normal friends gets married or has a baby so i can actually be happy for them

#i feel like the world's rudest idiot because i finally went full 'i want to speak to your manager' on the njedcert people#because i had no other options!!!!!#and after a while of trying i got a phone call from an extremely nice woman (apparently the only reasonable person who works there)#who was so helpful and nice and finally told me all the information i should have been given 3 months ago#i guess if i wasn't dealing with [redacted family emergency things]#and if i had a degree in the NJEdCert Portal from Bureaucratic Bullshit University#then all of this would have been sooo obvious and i wouldn't have needed to call and email everybody on earth#begging them to explain things to me#but like. it is weird how confusing it is! it is weird how much effort i had to put in!#i'm a young millennial! i should not have had this much trouble navigating this online portal or whatever the fuck!#THERE IS A TEACHER SHORTAGE. Not to be a prick, but your art is gonna have to be Real Damn Good to get me to interact with it if you slap something like "Don't even bother if you're not gonna reblog" on the end of the post. I'm not enough of one to like and scroll out of spite (though I'm not above thinking about it). I am, however, perfectly willing to ignore something I wouldn't have otherwise. If you're fine with a lower note count in the long run as long as it's more equal, if you think less interaction isn't gonna fuck with you worse than uneven likes-to-reblogs, then sure. Show some attitude. But if you're relying on commissions and dumb enough to think saying that sort of thing isn't gonna have consequences, I Do Not Feel Sorry For You.
