The lasagna theory is actually about Buddie, the Buckley-Diaz family, and Buddie's current relationships. "Trying to crack this new recipe but it cracked me" meaning they already had a relationship (recipe) that worked (Buck and Eddie) but they were trying new things (Eddie with Kim and Marisol, and Buck with Trolldemort). "Is that smoke" meaning all these new relationships were going to go up in flames. Which also includes the relationship between Eddie and Chris and the Buckley-Diaz family dynamics in general. Also the last time Buck had perfected the lasagna he was with the Diaz boys. They were together as a unit. As a family. This time, they were not. The lasagna was a foreshadowing for everything not just one specific thing. Like dominoes. Like layers in a lasagna.

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. I just think everyone should take a moment to consider the question "what is your visual shorthand for cruelty?" and then follow it up with a critical "and who taught you that?"

specific examples include but are not limited to

why is an evil timeline character design disabled? (why do the heroes go through equally punishing battles and never lose an arm, a leg, an eye?)

why are the futuristic scifi terrorists uniformly darker skinned? (why are the heroes so much lighter?)

why is the greedy boss fat? (why are the heroes skinny?)

why is the criminal mastermind heavily scarred? (why is the brooding, traumatized hero unscathed?)

why is the predatory creep a bearded person in a dress and makeup? (why are none of the heroes trans women?)

who taught you that this is how things are?

how long do you plan on repeating it?

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
