I have this one "OC" that does not yet have a name that I've drawn several times for a couple years. I was thinking that if I tried making them in FFXIV that I'd use elezen as a base... but then I remembered what other race have their near exact hairstyle... and now I'm like damn... I played myself...
#idk if ill do anything with them but im saving the design. just in case.#perhaps the ffxiv setting is whats needed to gain an idea of who they are#as of now i havent even figured out their gender like are they male? female? both? its one of those but which? who knows. not me!#i think besides that i knew they were really tall. a magic user. and i was pondering on some italian name#... could work with the 13th i suppose hmmm.#anyway i have more character design ideas than i could ever hope to put to use! send help!!!#ffxiv#final fantasy xiv#ff14#final fantasy 14#roegadyn#hellsguard#gpose#ffxiv screenshot#ffxiv gpose#ffxiv screenshots#i almost tagged edit but these are completely untouched#i tried but then id have to do all to be happy and make them match LMAO#nabaath-areng#my screenshot#i took soooo many screens but i feel like the post is already bloated yells#so these shall suffice. but please DO know that theyre painfully photogenic#and that practically every screenshot turned out super sexy

The witchy barista watches from across the coffee shop as your sweater gets tighter and tighter. “Lattes make me a little bloated sometimes, but this is ridiculous!” you think, yet you can’t help but take another sip, and another. Your stomach continues to swell. By the time you’ve finished the beverage (you even turned the mug upside down, to get every last drop) your chubby belly is poking out of the bottom of your sweater. You waddle over to the counter to order another, where the barista already has one waiting for you
Guhhh,, yes please 🥵
Hopelessly addicted to those fattening witchy brews ☕ hopefully by the end of their shift I'll have rounded out enough to their liking that I'll be invited home with them where they can really make some magic

Voyage of the Damned (1976)
"Will we ever come back?"
"It's only a temporary madness. Of course we come back."
#voyage of the damned#stuart rosenberg#david butler#steve shagan#faye dunaway#oskar werner#lee grant#sam wanamaker#lynne frederick#julie harris#wendy hiller#maria schell#max von sydow#malcolm mcdowell#georgina hale#orson welles#james mason#katharine ross#victor spinetti#a... conflicting film. the true story of the voyage of the St. Louis‚ carrying Jewish refugees from Germany on the eve of WW2‚ and the#efforts of her captain‚ and of various individuals aboard and elsewhere‚ to secure the safety of her passengers as country after country#refused them entry; that is a powerful story and deserved telling and telling well. and sometimes this nails it: more than once i was in#tears‚ there are individual scenes of great impact‚ and deeply moving performances and writing contained here. but just as often‚ the sheer#spectacle of the treatment risks obscuring the message; this was an 'all star' movie‚ heavily promoted as such‚ and at 2.5 hrs long it can#feel bloated and overblown. idk‚ less than the sum of its parts (some of which are profoundly affecting: Victor Spinetti silently weeping#as he waits to hear if his children will be allowed to join him in Cuba‚ every scene with Katherine Ross). the cast might be distractingly#starry (and also unfortunately mostly gentile‚ a disappointing misstep by producers) but some are doing incredible work here#of particular note is Werner‚ in his final ever screen role‚ and at this point more or less written off by the film world as a hopeless#alcoholic who couldn't be trusted to turn up‚ let alone act: he delivers one of his finest‚ most complex performances and in the process#recaptures some of the magical screen presence of his youth

Thinking abt alcoholic Zuko always makes me so sad which is WEIRD bc im very mistrusting of anyone who isn’t at least a little weird about at least one substance. Like meeting people who don’t have any addict tendencies at all is always (narrows eyes) what’s wrong with you….
But thinking abt ZUKO as an alcoholic is like wait no he has to be happy!!!!! Despite the fact he totally is one if not since on the wani then once he becomes fire lord
#I’m listening to tbp can you tell#give me a shot to remember and you can take all the pain away from me……….#look. 13 year old suddenly away from his family nursing a pretty extreme injury? yeah he’s gonna get hooked on smth#13: old enough to figure out how to get substances and too young to notice any red flags in your own behavior#he probably discovered the magic of substance abuse when Iroh gave him pain meds for his burn and then started drinking bc sailors+bloated m#military budget = Zuko steals their booze bc he doesn’t know how to get herbs and he is so sad and he can’t sleep and his face hurts and he#has nightmares and everything sucks#that is. what I think#substance abuse tw#tw alcoholism

I find the perfect flannel shirt for a lumberjack costume, but it’s quite oversized so I stuff it with pillows. At the costume party I get many comments about my fat lumberjack costume, though as the night goes on people are just saying ‘lumberjack’. The padding now feels very heavy, so I sneak off to a another room to take it out. Unbuttoning the shirt, I find the pillows are gone… and I now have a huge flabby belly. It’s a shock, for sure… but I also realize I haven’t eaten in a while. Can’t party on an empty stomach! So I button back up and lumber off to the kitchen in search of the snack table
Ooooooo I love stuff like this! Fat costumes that don't stay as costumes, whether they just kind of magically make you the size you were padded as (like this), or if they cause you to get so hungry that you eat until you get that big anyway
Wouldn't it be extra nice if everyone notices how good the new weight looks on you over the course of the party and they can't keep their hands off you, rubbing your big belly and giving you more snacks and drinks to make sure you stay as big and bloated as you should be

a wild abandon.
a drabble: for valter’s dread fighter mastery. word count: 667 words
There is a fierceness to the axe—a strength, if one may, that is required of one to wield it. It was slow, heavy, and lacking in range—a commoner’s tool for menial tasks, repurposed for the battlefield’s needs. It was not made for killing at first, but if it could be mastered, it was undoubtedly strong.
That was Duessel’s weapon.
Likewise, there is a grace to the sword—a civility, as it could be ascribed, that its bearer would possess in choosing that for their blade. Light-weight, discreet, but sharp—a weapon as commonly used for warfare as it was for self-defense. It was a noble weapon, all things made plain, but undoubtedly polite. People were killing each other long before the first was crafted.
That was Duessel’s weapon also. Further: it was Glen’s.
There is a rawness to the lance—a wild abandon, that which you possess, that any master of the weapon must learn. From the very beginning, its purpose was to slaughter (on the offensive in intent), a translation from base hunting directly into war. Any coward could wield it, kept safe by the distance inherent—but one who knew the shaft; the cord; the steel could easily utilize it as something far more dangerous.
That was Duessel’s weapon as well. And Glen’s. And yours.
And perhaps, there is a utility to knowing other blades—to be able to switch to the most advantageous as the need struck—but there is an even greater strength to be found from sticking to just the one choice. Options in the form of tools could be taken away from you—but in limiting that, you learned to find advantages; to make them, if necessary, and that knowledge could not be taken. Those wits were all you needed.
So magic was unnecessary—its only advantage was in its ability to break past one’s physical defenses (and perhaps strike from afar), but you made up for that with speed, strength; you flew so quickly a mage couldn’t dream to escape. Again, magic was but a tool, and tools could be taken away.
Arrogance overtook you then, you recall—that observation alone could translate into practical knowledge; at the thought of wielding Thunder (her preference, of all things), you had expected an easy battle. Two failed castings were all it took to humble you.
Even if, by technicality, you had won—a success rate of one-third could be nothing more than unsatisfactory. (And so, you determined, you would master it—just as you have mastered the lance.)
So you clawed your way—through tomes—illusory battlefields—unfathomable circumstance—foreign magic—burning classrooms—to prove it to yourself. Because you are capable. Because you are strong.
Metal clangs—steel against steel—before you step back (and they step away), flipping your grip: to throw, forcing your target right where you want them; and there is where you catch him—when you suddenly dart forth, the speed and force it all knocking him to the ground; a hand at his throat; and in your free hand: the dark murmurings of Hades and the other side, death reflected in its glimmering stray dust like sunlight off a cursed blade.
“ Have I passed now? ”
Magic was a tool, after all—but in Fódlan, it was a tool you ingrained into yourself. Certainly, you could use a tome and learn its contents if you knew how to read it, but over the leather-back burdens of Magvel, here, magic was a tool you could not lose.
The proctor sighs (however he may mask it as exhaustion), before nodding: “Yes. You have.”
And it is only then that you free him—standing up to full height to first recover your lance (your extension of yourself, wild and raw and free). Whatsoever happened, it would remain your preference, no doubt—to disentangle the weapon from your core was neither wanted nor likely possible—but a supplement in magic did not hurt you. It weighed nothing; it was graceful; it was fierce.
And you were better than those two (the Sunstone and the Obsidian). This was simply another method by which to prove that.
#[ ‘i will rise to glory once more.’ ] (drabbles)#[ drabble: 'a wild abandon.' (cm:dread fighter) ]#// i can write SO MUCH MORE about valter and magic fr#// but for the sake of not bloating this drabble up to unfathomable length#// + to keep it on topic#// + to avoid messing with the Flow#// i omitted it from here. This Time.#// anyways crazy how i've had multiple muses make it to one year+ in toa and this is my first mastered advanced class. lol.

Ok so I just saw a post that said that the reason Good Omens is good is because Neil Gaiman was on set and as one of the original authors, could make sure everything was good.
Except that’s not always a good thing. It worked out in this case not because having the author on set is always inherently good but because Neil Gaiman also has experience with television and adaptations.
Merely being the author is actually not good enough when it comes to adapting something for television because that’s a separate skill. Like yes it’s great the author has a vision but can that vision be accomplished in a way that fits the schedule, actors, budget, and even tone of the show? Like the golden contacts on David Tennant were definitely a conversation at the beginning of season 1 because he can’t fucking see in them. If David hadn’t been able to accommodate that then it would have had to switch to CGI or using the contacts as little as possible, which would have meant changing some scenes. And if an author refuses to go through that process of ‘maybe this won’t work here’, then they would be a hindrance.
Like the show is good and I enjoyed it tremendously and I’m glad Neil Gaiman got to get what he wanted into it, but I also don’t think he would insist that he was The Factor That Made It Work.
Like there have been projects where authors on set have caused issues because they could not accept that adaptations by definition are different beasts and frequently can’t be exact to the book or series. And the author holding on too tight onto every detail can lead to something that is technically accurate but not good to watch.
#good omens#adaptations#Stephen king is an author where it’s best if he’s nowhere near the set#also in general adaptations of his work are better than his work#because his work varies from bloated to barely there#like IT is way too long and tiresome to read but 1408 is like 3 pages of nothing#also I like season 2 but it doesn’t feel like a full season despite being the same length of the first season#it felt like it got to a midway point and stopped#so the season was good but I have issues with it#Neil Gaiman isn’t a magic man who produces perfection just by being there

I uh... wanted to vent my horny thoughts into this post because I can lmao
Golly, a Kirin post! For context, Pepper here has been well fed on this day which tends to be the typical appearance of meeting her. So well fed that any form of capacity within her stomach is anything but available. How to even describe this? Overstuffed, engorged, swollen, bloated, taut, crammed to the brim, etc. You get the idea. Likely the results of binging into some buffet, drinking herself silly, both, maybe eating a hearty amount of equinoids, or some funny shrinking spell book working for once! The more perceptive folk would definitely notice her shallow breathing considering how much space her gut was forced to take up. Sometimes a little erratic, mind you. Just huffs, puffs, and little mutters of exasperated jubilance for the state she ended up in. This, in consequence, left her unable to belch too. No room for air, not even a loose pocket of gastric air within that dense mass to let out. Too full to move, too full to breathe correctly, too full to burp, such as the way with this ravenous glutton of a floofball... Oh, what's that? You are sure there is some space in there?!? Seriously, you will not hear not even a bubble of space inside there. I swear, give it a tap! You'll probably feel like you are knocking on an iron boulder that is twice as heavy as her!!! Don't expect her to be moving though, not with a tungsten ball equivalent sitting in her gut for maybe a few days tops... or a week, maybe? Gosh, I can't imagine the burbling and gurgling for those days, or even trying to waddle around so sluggishly once it's digested enough to allow locomotion. Not even a mushy or slushy sound liquifying all of it like Glwrolglsh or Slrglrglsh. More on par to tossing around a brick inside a spacious cauldron really... golly!
There is more, yes, but sorta related to some goofy ol' book... Oh dear... This no ordinary book...

children's books that went downhill to the extent that they started to read like fanfiction for themselves
guardians of ga'hoole after book 6 (returned after a natural ending point)
maximum ride after book 3 (returned after a natural ending point)
percy jackson after the second series, and arguably the first (returned after a - well do I even have to say it)
#feel free to reblog/reply and add your own#see redwall never went downhill because all its stories were discrete yet connected to the greater lore#he had weaker books and stronger books but he never destroyed his beloved characters or his overarching worldbuilding#and his commitment to the lore and storytelling was reliable. no weird magical bs. no cash grabs#in the GOGH books there are owls that are straight-up blue. the protag gets married offscreen to some lady#there's so much nonsense that tries desperately to mimic and call back to earlier beloved characters and books#literally reads like bad fanfic. also it's really sad for no reason at all#max ride was never good. I'd like to say I'm giving it credit for attempting to tackle climate change but the books were just SO bloated#with prophecy and nonsense and mystery that never paid off. and the later books were somehow worse#like they were trying to save the world but they didn't and a ton of people died and it didn't matter? ik this was all ghost writers#but jesus christ#and I remember that transphobic joke they made.#pjo was not AS much of a disaster but I hate how they didn't let percy just live his life#and instead had to make hoo the percy adentures: part 2. JUST USE YOUR NEW CHARACTERS#he had so many of them!#hoo was soo bad like the last book sucked severely#I'm sure later books are also not great but I haven't read them#pjo WAS a great series and without a doubt the highest quality kids books on this list#even going downhill it was still leagues above max ride...#I think gogh was not GREAT but it was really fun and original and had some great and memorable scenes.#def more emotionally honest and cohesive and structured than max ride#cor.txt

The internet is so so good at psychological torture cause tell me why I just had a mini meltdown over how I’ve been eating post-surgery and how that’s affecting how I look and then got like four weight loss tiktoks in a row
#and the thing is I know I’m very fucking bloated right now and also my body just looks so different post top surgery#and I need to develop a new relationship with it like I didn’t go into this with expectations that it would solve body image issues#or be magically easy#or that I needed to be thin in order to be like attractive or okay or whatever#AND I’m not supposed to lose weight for the next six weeks because I need to be fueling my body for recovery#but its so hard to feel confident while fatphobia is getting more and more attention and support every day#and truly I hate every single person who contributes to it
