Author's Note: The Optimization continues hopefully
After we finished teaching the girls the basics we went into the second half of the episode, playing a game of commander. As we set up the table and playmats (I had been trusted to get everyone relevant playmats) Aeri smiled as she unrolled hers. “How did you get this,” she asked me.
“Well, I know a guy who does excellent custom work so I had him do all of yours. He just needed high-resolution images,” I reply
“I love it,” Aeri says bright-eyed. When the cameras start rolling I lock in again as we all sit down and start playing. Our setup was a Two-Headed dragon.
Aeri won the dice roll so she went first. “Okay I will start with a Plains and pass.” next came Kkura who did an island into Sol Ring then an arcane signet. After that Jen. Jen started with Mountain into sol ring into Rakdos signet. After that Connor played a command tower suspended a Lotus Bloom and passed the turn. The next turn for everyone was unsubstantial as they mostly played more ramp. Except for Connor, He played Esper sentinel. He laughed manically.
Sakura looked at him worried until I assured her was not going to be an issue.
"Oh and how can you guarantee that," Connor questioned.
"Oh, that's easy. I'll kill him first," I said with a coldness that frightened the group. So to keep the tone light I added,
"Just kidding, but seriously though he won't be an issue," I assure Sakura. I don't want her first game to go poorly as it would look bad for the episode so I am going to intentionally feed her the win. Dexter makes the next significant play a few turns later by playing his commander. I killed it with a slaughter pact that I laid the esper sentinel tax on.
The next major play after that was Sakura’s which I let go without a hitch. After that, she kinda secured the victory with a combo of dual caster mage and twin flame.
After the game, Connorb Aeri approached me.
“Did you let Kkura win,” Aeri asked me. I nodded before replying
“People really like Kkura so putting her in a good light in her show and letting her have the victory was good for her show,” Aeri scowled at me while Connor laughed.
“Why would you do that,” Aeri asked confused.
“Because sometimes to win you have to lose,” Aeri scowled further before walking away with Aeri
“that was fun,” Aeri said to Connor. Connor nods as she cuddles up to him. Jen tenses up a bit which Aeri, and Connor notice. Before that can be addressed Kkura and Dexter arrive. He begins by loading up the van they were all in. When he’s done he hops in.
“Okay, we’re all packed up and ready to go Connor and Hiro.” Connor and I nod at Dexter, and Connor starts the van. Aeri sits next to Connor in the front row while taking selfies, getting you in a couple when the car stops. Dexter reclines his seat exhausted from filming.
Jen, brimming with excitement, exclaimed, "Woo! Let’s party," and everyone burst into laughter. It was then that the girls noticed Dexter’s Ogher Calibur tattoo, their surprise evident in their expressions.
“It’s just like yours, Connor,” Aeri squealed.
“Yeah, Connor and I got them a while back. We wanted them to match,” Dexter explained, while Connor watched the girls' eyes widen in the rear-view mirror. They turned to Connor and Dexter, already anticipating their question.
“We should all get matching tattoos,” Jen declared jubilantly.
“Yeah, and they should be Magic-themed,” Aeri chimed in.
They glanced at Connor and Dexter before deliberating on their choices. Jen took the lead in planning. “Mardu for me. Kkura gets Grixis, and Abzan for Aeri, but what about our three architects and helpers? They helped us build and streamline our decks so well.”
They all looked at Connor, except Kkura, who was focused on Dexter as he tried to go back to sleep.
“Jeskai for Connor, he was so tricky and hard to play around,” she said. Aeri nodded in agreement.
“Definitely,” she added, snapping her fingers. Aeri and Kkura voiced their agreement.
“So that leaves the ferocious Naya for our ferocious Dexter,” Jen concluded.
They finally remembered my presence, and all eyes turned toward me. "Feeding Sakura the win wasn't cool, but very cunning of you," Aeri remarked.
"Yeah, you're quite the sneak," Jen agreed.
"But cunning is Jeskai's thing," I replied.
"Wait, really?" the three girls responded in unison. I nodded intently.
"So, what does that leave us with?"
"Esper, Jund, Bant, Temur, and Sultai," I responded.
"Which one did you play today?" Sakura inquired.
"Oh, Mimeoplasm is Sultai," I responded. The girls giggled as they huddled around Yunjin's phone, presumably searching for symbols. Jen was the first to respond.
"Oh, that's perfect," they said, displaying a series of stylized symbols, each corresponding to one of us present. The last one was a Sultai symbol.
"This one is yours," Aeri explained, and I smiled.
"So even though we may be apart, we will always be connected by our bond," I said absentmindedly. Connor and Dexter exchanged a glance as the girls squealed at my "profound statement."
The girls agreed and began searching for tattoo parlors. They found one conveniently located next to a karaoke hall, so they decided to go from tattoos to karaoke. When we all arrived at the tattoo parlor, Dexter was roused awake by Jen. He looked around, confused.
“Wait, why are we at Mason’s spot?” Connor gave him a surprised look. Mason had done his other tattoo, which was on the other side of his collarbone, across from the Ogher Calibur. Mason chuckled upon seeing everyone.
“I should have known it was Connor and Dexter,” Mason said with a smile.
“I have no idea what’s going on,” Dexter responded.
“I see that you look tired. Get some good shots today?” Mason asked. Dexter nodded.
“So, who’s first?” Mason asked. The girls pushed Dexter to the front.
“Where do you want it, Boss?”
“What is it?” Dexter asked, and Mason showed him the image. Dexter sighed and turned to everyone. He pointed at Connor and scowled. “You put them up to this, didn’t you?” Connor shook his head, and Dexter shrugged. “Well, then just on the back of my neck, right at the collar line," Dexter explained.
Mason nodded and got his stuff ready. When he was done, Dexter got up, and the girls, except Yunjin, who was tall enough to see it, all jumped as they inspected it. The girls marveled at it. At one point, as everyone watched, Connor swore he saw it move. Yunjin, Giselle, and Connor all exchanged glances, and then Kkura went next. She solidified the placement of the tattoos by getting hers in the same place. Jen groaned,
“Ah, Wae Kkura unnie, why did you get yours there?”
“They’re supposed to match, right?” Kura questioned. When she finished, she went to sit down in Dexter’s lap. She looked incredibly comfortable and small there, Connor observed. Connor was next, and as he approached, Kkura spoke up.
“Thanks again, Connor Oppa, Hiro Oppa, and Dexter Oppa, for helping us.” Dexter had spaced out, as usual, leaving Connor and me to be the only present ones.
“You’re welcome, Kkura,” he said, smiling.
After we finished we all piled into the Karaoke joint next door. The girls and Connor all ordered drinks. Since Dexter and I don't drink we got soda. He got root beer, and I got Sprite… or whatever clear lemon-lime soda they had.
"Okay, We all know what music Connor and Dexter like so Hiro you do the first song," Yunjin insisted. I squinted before shaking my head.
"Nah I am too weird you don't want to see my favorite genre,"
"Why is it Emo," Aeri asked. when I didn't respond Giselle smiled. "It is! Well, now you have to sing it. I love emo," Aeri said. I groaned while Connor and Dexter laughed. I got pushed up. I scrolled through the list of thousands of songs looking for one that sings to me. after 15 minutes I find it and started play.

———————————————————————————
“Jisung, why do you wanna get so big? Are you a masochist?” You eyed him as you both walk to your shared apartment.
“A.. a masochist?” He stops dead in his tracks, which has you turning to face him two feet away. The tips of his ears are turning the prettiest shade of pink and his boba eyes are so wide, mouth slightly agape.
“You’ve put on quite the muscle since I first met you a few years ago,” you begin, images of Jisung walking into your college mathematics class looking considerably toned, but slightly thin. A small smile finds it’s way onto your face as you finish your sentence, “and every New Year’s Day I ask you what your resolution is, but the answer is always the same.. ‘I wanna get bigger’.”
He looks down at his physique and makes a unsatisfied face. “I just don’t think my physique looks that nice,” he begins walking and grabs your hand to lead you on the sidewalk. You almost think you didn’t hear him correctly when he whispered “and maybe being sore feels really good.”
And heard him correctly you did.
A week later, Jisung asks you a question you never thought you’d hear.
“Hypothetically? Are we sure this is a hypothetical question, Hannie?” One of your eyebrows is raised out of suspension while he plays with a loose sting hanging from the bottom of his grey sweatpants shorts. You walk over to his figure on the couch from your previous position in the kitchen and sit next to him. His body sinks towards your weight, his face vulnerable.
“I thought about what you said.. and it makes sense. 1000%. I enjoy feeling pain. I like how it feels when I’m done doing a set of exercises, and I especially love being sore the next day. I just- I wanna try it. Please.” Jisung shifts his body so that he’s facing you, almost frantically. Like he can sense you pulling away, even though he knows you wouldn’t leave him because of this..maybe you would find him weird. He doesn’t want that either though.
“Are we talking barefoot? Sneakers? Boots? High heels?” Your head tilts and you even look away a little to think about what he would want as the first step.
“H-huh?” There’s no longer a pit in the bottom on his stomach, just whispers of heat beginning to stir under his waistband. He’s beginning to fall apart at the seams and nothing has even happened yet.
You had already toe-d off your house shoes before he realized what’s going on. “You can’t seriously be hard already.. we just started talking about it!” You laugh and he covers his semi with both of his hands. “I-I’m sorry baby.. sorry.”
Without a word, you slapped his hands. He knew what you wanted.. his hands away and to not return until told otherwise. He’s gripping and unclenching the couch cushion with anticipation and desperation, head already a little numb. It’s always easy to spot when he gets floaty- his ears and neck (even upper chest) become splotchy with a dusty pink hue, and his hands are restless.
“Hannie, you look so pretty like this. Can you tell me the safe word?” You stroke his cheek and wait for his answer. The word is spoken softly, almost like he is too scared to speak any louder- terrified he may ruin the mood after he built the courage to ask you such a question. “Perfect baby, sit up a little for me.”
Jisung sits up slightly, allowing you to remove his loose black shirt. His heated, splotchy chest looks like a masterpiece paired with his tanned skin; it invites you to places kisses against the muscle. Your right hand flies to his waist and dig your fingertips into him. He jerks at the feeling of your lips and hand- he wants, NO.. needs more.
“Please hurt me, pleasepleasepl- AH!” His hips lift from the cushion as he feels your teeth nip harshly at the skin next to this left nipple, your hand following to scratch at his side.
“Jisungie.. shhhh. Let me play with your body.” You whisper against him. You place your right hand on top on his clothed cock, and the most sinful and beautiful moans are coming out of his mouth. As quickly as your hand appeared, it disappeared and he makes his disappointment known. You shoot him a glare to shut him up and he listens. He knows you mean business right now- you always do when it comes to his pleasure.
At his side, next cushion over, you lean back on both hands and lift your right leg. Bent at the knee, ankle loose and foot firm, you hover it over Jisung’s hips. He’s watching your every move with scrunched eyebrows and mouth unhinged. The ball of your foot begins to press down on his erection, not stopping even though gravity has done all its work. The force starts to push into his bladder but still no mind, he’s now staring at you like you put the damn stars in the sky and you’re drenched. You can feel your panties sticking and it won’t get better from here because you know he won’t want to stop any time soon.
“Hannie, does it feel good? Or do you not want it to feel good?” Even you’re breathless.. the view you have looks straight out of some cheap porno. His red and bitten-raw lips open, his cheeks flush and his eyes heavily lidded with lust, even his labored breathing.
“Need more. More pain. Please” Voice cracking on his last word, you get up as fast as you possibly can. This newfound confidence in yourself after seeing what you can do for your boyfriend has you reeling. Jisung lets out a yelp of surprise when you grab a fist full of his hair and begin to drag him off the couch and to the center of the living room.
“Take off your shorts and lay down. Now. And I didn’t tell you to touch yourself, did I?” He had grabbed his base over his shorts when you tugged on his hair. He feels so pathetic like this, he could totally get off on this but he doesn’t want it to end soon. He stripped himself of his shorts and laid down on the carpet floor, even the navy blue underwear making for a great view against his thick thighs- threads stretched taught against the muscle.
The second his whole body made contact with the floor, you raised your right leg again. Bent at the knee but with a firm ankle and firm foot, you dug your heel into his cock. Jisung took in a sharp breath and a few moments later, released a shaky one. “Oh fuuuuuuuck!” His eyes rolled into the back of his head.
You’re dripping, and you’re about to lose your mind seeing Jisung strung out on the carpet like this. You don’t even wanna blink because you’re afraid you might miss the sight like he could disappear.
“How about this, Hannie? You like this shit?” You scoff, “What a fucking painslut. Getting off to me stepping on your dick.” You moved your ankle back and forth to dig into his skin even more and you can hear the carpet being scratched at. He is trying his hardest to stay grounded so he can feel this bliss for as long as he can, but you go just deep enough and he’s done.
“I’m gonna cum! Gonna cum!” He’s breathing frantically.
“Just from this??? This is all it takes, Hannie? Just need me to step on you??” You put as much weight into your right foot as you can for a few seconds to help him reach his orgasm.
“Yes! Yesyesyesyes! I’m cumming! Gonna come so hard!” He’s babbling and you watch him break.
His fingertips are white from digging into the carpet and his body twitches as his underwear becomes soaked with fluid. His moans and gasps are so loud you don’t doubt there would be a complaint or two tomorrow. There’s so much cum, you question if that’s all it is and nothing else. His back is arched in the prettiest curve and his neck is on display as if saying ‘I still need more, please bite me’. He stopped breathing towards the back end of his orgasm as if to prolong it (asphyxiation is something you will bring up another time).
The aftershocks are still hitting him when you drop to your knees next to his head. He’s so dazed and spacey. You give him a quick kiss to his forehead and tell him you’ll be back in a second. You come back with a new pair of underwear and a towel to wipe him with. You help him change and sit him up.
“You doing okay baby? How’s your penis? Does it hurt too much?” You ask while giving him a scalp massage, trying to relieve what you caused earlier.
Jisung shakes his head and whispers “I feel so good right now. Can we lay down on the couch?” You both make it to the couch and you offer to make him some food and get beverages. Only after 10 minutes of cuddling, kissing, and ‘i love you’s ’,does he allow you to do that.
“I know the initial conversation we had about this was about a week ago, but if it wasn’t obvious… I really like your physique, Jisung.” You say as you place the plates of food on the coffee table. Your cheeks heat up at the confession, but all he can think about is your lips on his body. He shoots you a quick smirk and says “Yeah, totally wasn’t obvious.”

blurb below the cut <33
Tumblr media
It was New Year's, ten minutes to midnight.
While your friends and family were no doubt gathering for parties, drinking champagne and counting down the minutes until they could share a kiss with their lovers into the New Year, you were at Leon's, still in captivity, still not allowed to go outside.
You sighed deeply, thinking of the plans you'd made with your friends months ago, long before Leon had taken you in. You were all going to gather together at one of your friend's apartments, share a bottle of champagne, play games, and go into the New Year as a tighter group. You wondered if they were hanging out without you right now. You wondered if your absence was killing the vibe.
"What're you thinking about, princess?" Leon asked from behind you, running his fingers through your hair.
"It's New Year's," You spoke softly, staring blankly at the wall. "I was supposed to be with my friends today."
He hummed softly, leaning forward to kiss your neck sweetly. "I'm sorry, princess. That's a bummer, huh?"
You nodded. It was almost laughable how indifferent he was to your feelings sometimes.
"It's a good thing you have me then," He continued, lips ghosting along your warm skin. "We can go outside, watch the fireworks, share a kiss at midnight… How does that sound, pup?"
Despite your internal struggle, it did sound kind of nice. Normal. Something you really needed right now, a reminder of what it felt like to be normal. You turned over your shoulder to look at him. "Okay… sure. I-I'd like that."
He softly kissed the top of your head, humming contently. "Good. Put on a jacket, princess, it's cold outside," He said, and while his words sounded like a suggestion, his tone sounded like a command.
You nodded blankly, reaching for the first jacket you could find in the closet before taking his hand, letting him lead you out of the room and to the backyard. It was pretty cold outside, he wasn't wrong about that-- the biting December air felt good, sobering on your skin. Still, you subconsciously huddled to his side for warmth.
"What's your resolution?" He asked, voice cutting through the silence.
"Huh?" You tilted your head, a little caught of guard by his question.
"Your New Year's resolution, sweetheart," He repeated somewhat condescendingly. "Do you have one?"
Admittedly, you hadn't put much thought into it. Obviously your energy was better spent elsewhere as of late. You hummed in thought for a moment before coming up with an answer you thought would please him. "I don't know… I guess I'd like to take better care of myself this year… What about you?"
Leon smiled, planting a kiss to the top of your head. "To take better care of you," He answered honestly. "My pretty little princess… I just want to take better care of you."
You could hardly begin to imagine what he meant by that. It wasn't always clear to tell what he considered 'good care.' Still, it was a sweet response. You gave him a weak smile, turning to look up at the sky. Any minute fireworks would undoubtedly begin popping off around the city.
Leon kept one hand on the small of your back as he checked his watch. It was 11:59 p.m. He gently turned you to him, caressing your cheek with his thumb as he gazed into your eyes. You were so pretty, so sweet, and you were all his. What he hadn't told you was he had a second resolution-- to keep you all to himself, to properly train you to be his perfect little dolly. He could almost taste it.
His watch beeped as the clock ticked up to the hour, and almost immediately, an array of distant fireworks began popping and glittering across the sky. Leon guided his face down to yours, whispering lowly, "Happy New Year, princess," before connecting his lips to yours.

I saw a few people after the FHJY finale talking about how the season failed because of the limitations to d&d mechanics. And that takes on a whole different tone for me after having played d&d because like, it simply isn't true that the only possible conflict resolution d&d offers is killing. Literally the first encounter my party had in a pre-written official WoTC campaign, we were strongly encouraged to barter our way out, not use violence. If you have a good DM, you can get out of most encounters with sentient creatures without killing them. I would argue instead that it is a failure of specifically the dimension 20 format; as much as I adore the battle sets, they do create a necessity to resolve conflicts through violence. Which means in a season like junior year, where the supposed theme was the corruptive nature of rage and how inflicting your will on others through violence is bad, there's an inherent conflict, because there has to be battle scenes which involve the bad kids inflicting their will on others through violence. And who knows, maybe Brennan would have actually had the rat grinders join the bad kids fighting Porter on that battle set if the intrepid heroes had tried that route, but idk. Fig tried really hard to reach Ruben and sure, she went about it in a totally batshit way, but it didn't lead literally anywhere at all. I think Brennan (& the whole cast, to a lesser extent) just fucked up with this one, tbh. Like they just didn't think about the implications of the rat grinders as villains or about how the PCs violent rage toward them would completely undermine any thematic coherency. It was just a bad season conclusion :// but anyway you can do nonviolent conflict resolution in d&d it's like normal. Live your roleplaying dreams

Predictions for Oshi No Ko Ending
1. Anemone will be the one to find Katayose Yura's dead body.
Tumblr media
In Japanese flower symbolism, Anemones or Windflowers represent death, bad luck, and forsaken love. And it just so happens we have a character named exactly that, who happens to be the only other character apart from Katayose Yura who loves being in the mountains.
Tumblr media
Anemone will likely be climbing the same mountains on Yura's wishlist, and just like before, The Crow might lead Anemone to the dead body.
Tumblr media
It's like Akasaka-sensei decided Spider Lilies are already too obvious a deathflag so he chose a different flower.
I'm taking the bet that Akane might be the person who figures out the connection between Yura and Kamiki, or Miki-san might simply show up on the news as a statement about his "dear friend Yura" who "disappeared".
Akane might also give the head's up to Aqua that she thinks Kamiki murdered Yura, and that would be a reason for the two to spend more time with each other again. (Might shove a wedge between Kana and Aqua again, if Aqua isn't already doing that himself lmao.) Either way, it'd be a convenient way for Akane to attempt to both "save" Aqua and also help him accomplish his goals without killing himself.
2. The person who texted Frill Shiranui is Miki-san.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sylvanes made a fairly solid guess that Frill Shiranui works for Kamiki Productions. Whether or not he was necessarily correct on this, I'm making the bet that Yura's "best drinking buddy" Miki-san is connected to Frill professionally, and goaded Frill into pushing Ruby into the spotlight.
Some speculators say this might have been Aqua's ploy, but I I think this was incorrect. Aqua agreed with Kaburagi that money comes first and Frill was a more reasonable choice commercially. He even said that Gotanda should "grow up" and not choose Ruby just because of his artistic integrity.
Tumblr media
Apart from the friendly, casual tone of the text message that really sounds like the "Miki-san" persona and the image of decanted whiskey as his profile picture, I think Kamiki is actually praying for Ruby's success as a star.
In fact, I think people misunderstood why he killed Katayose Yura. He didn't kill Yura because his serial killer MO was simply because he liked killing up and coming megastars who shone brightly. He killed Yura because:
(a) He hates Stars who lie, who sell a persona to their fans that is vastly different from who they are as people, which is why he hated Himekawa Airi and Hoshino Ai.
Tumblr media
(b) He killed Yura because he knew that the project being offered to her was the lead role in The 15-Year Lie. And simply, he wanted Ruby to play Ai's role.
In a twisted way, I think Kamiki believes he is protecting his children, and the public in general, from being lied to any further by celebrities like Yura who deceive the public with their feigned innocence.
Honestly? I think the reason he killed their mothers was to protect them from growing up with mothers who lie and abuse their kids.
3. Kana might play Hoshino Ai in The 15-Year Lie.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. I know. I know. Unhinged fan theory. I get it.
Even AquaKana stans think this is majorly unlikely to happen. I agree in that, I think it's insane. But I keep coming back to what Aqua meant when he said that, "Kana is so easy to manipulate", and "It's more convenient for me to build a good relationship with Arima right now."
Tumblr media
People tend to say, he's making silly convoluted excuses again, he just wants to spend more time with her. But I think a man who is resolute in his goal to off himself by proxy of martyrdom doesn't care to date the person he was protecting from a love scandal anyway.
Tumblr media
There are a few key reasons why I think Aqua's "using" of Kana will result in her playing Ai's role.
First of all, I think Aqua's plan is to play Kamiki, to portray him in the worst possible way, and expose him as the murderer through the film. Through this, Aqua will bait his father into murdering him too, and thus Aqua's death can be used as legal grounds for charging Hikaru Kamiki with Homicide.
As established above, I think Aqua doesn't agree that Ruby is the best choice for Ai's role. There are a lot of parallelisms baked in between Kana and Ai. Apart from the shot-by-shot remake of Sign is B, Kana is also the best person to get stabbed and deliver the lines, "Some day I hoped the lies would become true. / I did my best. I worked hard. I lied with all my heart. / To me, lies are love. In my own way, I thought I was showing my love."
Besides, you saw anyone else say these same things?
Tumblr media
Uhuh, you guessed it:
Tumblr media
So is Kana gonna get stabbed? Hopefully in a movie, yeah.
I think it could happen as a result of Kaburagi's dissatisfaction with Ruby's performance.
Kaburagi's "finalized" casting isn't final-final yet, really. We can see that he swapped Aqua to play Kamiki instead of Himekawa who will now play Ryosuke the university student/stalker here:
Tumblr media
Which makes sense! Aqua looks like his father, is closer to his age during the time of the events, and Taiki's age and height also better matches Ryosuke.
And even though the paper says finalized on Ruby's casting, Kaburagi's still not completely sold:
Tumblr media
I think the swap will come as a result of Ruby being severely overworked and unable to keep up with the demands of her role, and the Dome performance that she might want to prioritize. She may even outright collapse from exhaustion, as foreshadowed by Kana:
Tumblr media
Apart from Akasaka-sensei absolutely trolling us to death by Ai x Kamiki on-screen romance being portrayed by twins, then just outright pulling the plug on that for fun, I think it'd just make sense for Kaburagi to say it's better if we pair Aqua with Kana for this role.
Ruby doesn't even have to collapse or anything. She's so loved up with the idea of Gorou-sensei right now, Aqua could literally just tell her "this is what's best for the plan, you trust me, don't you?" And she would absolutely just go with it.
Tumblr media
I said before that I think up until Mem-cho pointed it out, Aqua was wholly unaware that Kana had a crush on him and joined B-Komachi just because of him. I think now that he has the awareness, he'll ask Kana to do it, first to help Ruby, but also because he can only trust Kana to play this role because she is "Special" to him.
A repeat of:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It really is the only way that this scene therefore makes sense to me:
Tumblr media
Bonus: if the Shima D masterpiece film doesn't draw Kamiki's attention to her, Kana playing the role of Ai definitely will. And if she delivers the role with so much honesty, it might change the trajectory of the story altogether.
4. Aqua's plan will backfire.
I explained a little above and in a previous post that Aqua misunderstands Kamiki's motives.
While we all like to shit on Aqua for being the World's Nicest Master Manipulator, we have to give him credit for the fact that when it's used for saving other people, he's been really effective at spinning a public narrative in his favor. Like in the cases of Akane's suicide attempt and Kana's Love Scandal.
If the goal is to get Kamiki to stab him in plain view of the public, villify his father, and make it easy to convict him for homicide once and for all, I think he will fail.
Kamiki will not kill him or go after him. In fact, I think Kamiki will shed his Miki-san persona and reveal the truth: he was Himekawa Airi's rape victim, and Hoshino Ai was a manipulative person who seduced him with the prospect of true love, then abandoned him when she got what she wanted, which was a family.
In the absence of any evidence that he had anything to do with their deaths, Kamiki might even use this momentum of propaganda to make the public believe that he's happy to finally be reunited with his children that these terrible mothers took away from him.
Heck, Taiki might hate Uehara so much that he'd be relieved to learn about Kamiki? And if he really is connected to Frill, and if Kindaichi still cares about him, there might be real people who would back him up.
Then, it won't be until Akane works with Aqua and everyone to bring the murder of Katayose Yura to light that Kamiki would actually be brought to justice.

THEY FINALLY PAY ATTENTION TO LEON AND ASHLEY'S RELATIONSHIP!!
I mean, to be clear and fair, my last post was hyperbolic LMAO my tone was exaggerated.
The reality is that most non-shippers and casual RE fans probably will point to Leon and Ashley's relationship as one of the best, if not the best in RE. And not for romantic/ship reasons (though I'm willing to bet a lot do see it that way), but simply because they:
A. Are the leading hero and heroine who
B. star in what is widely considered the best game in the series, and they
C. have shared character arcs which are tied inexorably to the overall plot itself and its themes, and
D. have a very clear beginning, middle, and end.
That last one is the most important one. People don't realize that that's why Leon and Ashley's relationship scratches a very satisfying itch in their brain that the other relationships in RE don't, but that's why. The development of their relationship has the basic structure of Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution. Their relationship feels like a story in and of itself.
This was one of the major, major benefits narratively of turning RE4 into a fairy tale. The story is the relationship, and the relationship is the story. You can't have one without the other.
No other relationship in RE plays out that way. Every other RE game deals with good guys going after big bad corporations because it is RIGHT and they are HEROES!!!. Chris and Jill didn't need each other in RE1 to escape the mansion. You could have gotten both Leon and Claire into the Umbrella lab in RE2 without them ever having met Ada or Sherry, because that was the natural endpoint for both of them trying to find the answers they wanted. Jill and Carlos absolutely do not need each other to be convinced to get out of Raccoon City. Chris does not at all need Sheva or even Jill in order to be incentivized to go after Wesker. And so on and so on.
But Leon needs Ashley in order to justify invading and slaughtering an entire community of people, and Ashley needs Leon to do that in order to escape. You can't take either Leon nor Ashley out of RE4 and have the story still work. It doesn't. Their relationship is driving the plot, and RE4make made it so that it's also driving the emotional payoff and catharsis, too (which wasn't necessarily the case in OG).
So it makes sense that that Game Rant article singles them out as unique, because they are. It's very easy to make the case that Leon and Ashley are objectively the best-written relationship on the series, because from a technical standpoint, they absolutely are.

Picrew link
Rika/cmc Chaewon Lee
A vignette I wrote on a whim after playing around in Picrew! Basically the aftermath of Ray's and Natasha's (Saeran's MC) escape from Mint Eye. Rika doesn't take it too well. Chaewon offers comfort. Do they come to a healthy and reasonable resolution? Of course not :)
Exhaustion weighed heavily upon Chaewon's shoulders as her legs carried her up the many winding stairs to the top floor of Magenta, many thoughts plaguing her mind. Things have been a mess in the last week. That cursed traitor showing up out of the blue, Natasha's apparent betrayal that she always knew was brewing somewhere under the surface, and now... Ray's completely unforseen escape, to top it all off.
She expected Natasha to turn tail the moment the opportunity arose, but Ray? Chaewon wouldn't admit it, but even she felt somewhat betrayed by his rather selfish decision to leave them all behind like that. Guess a pretty girl was all it took for him to abandon the same people who cared and protected him for these past few years.
He left Magenta completely defenseless. Didn't even have the courage to face the Savior head-on before disappearing. Just left in the middle of the night with that joke of an assistant of his.
...They should have never let him keep her.
While wandering through the hallway, Chaewon saw the open door to Rika's chambers. Rika's voice caused her to pause and her eye widened as she heard the obvious distress in her voice, muffled sniffs and sobs reaching her ears through the door. She immediately felt a sense of concern, and she frowned slightly as she paused in the doorway.
"Rika?" as she entered the chambers without invitation, she whispered softly and closed the door behind her. Only she was allowed to come and go as she pleased. Not to mention call her by her name. She preferred not to do that, usually, but... Right now, it just felt right. The state Rika was in caused her eyes to widen. There she was, her small form curled up on her bed, her head tucked away into her knees. A sight not befitting of a Savior that the believers were made to love and adore. But a sight she knew too well, "Are you alright? I've ordered our Security Unit to replace Ray in the meantime, but it's... challenging."
Rika was seemingly so focused on her internal conflicts and negative thoughts that she didn't even realize the door was opening behind her. Another worrying sign that Chaewon did not like to see. When she heard her bodyguard's soft voice, she raised her head quickly. As she looked at her, her expression grew more depressed and she closed her eyes.
"...No, I'm not... I'm not okay," she murmured while lowering her head and placing her hands on her face.
As Chaewon heard Rika's words, her frown deepened, and the sight of her with her head down made her chest ache. She moved closer until she was in front of her bed and crouched down, gently grasping Rika's wrists and carefully removing her hands from her face.
"Hey, look at me," her tone was soft and full of concern, accompanied by gentle words. So very different from the firm and cold voice she would use with everyone else. Much like Rika would only let her see her like this, Rika was the only one who would bring out that caring side of her that was seemingly long gone by this point. They both knew sides of each other no one else was allowed to see. She kept holding Rika's wrists as she waited for her to look down at her.
As if the soft voice and gesture had a strange influence on her, Rika slowly raised her head to look at Chaewon who was kneeling at her bedside, like a loyal knight would for the one they've sworn to serve. Her eyes were slightly red, giving her an expression of being at her limit.
It was just as unusual to see her with a soft and vulnerable gaze. Rika Kim, the one who was leading Mint Eye into the eternal paradise, now felt so lost and alone...
How pathetic, is what she probably thought.
The state that Rika was in caused Chaewon's breath to hitch. Rika's eyes caught her gaze, making her chest ache and heart skip a beat. At that moment, all she wanted was to wrap the woman sitting in front of her in her arms and hold her close, but she had to resist the sudden urge. She exhaled, gently squeezing Rika's wrists.
"Come here," her voice was quiet and soft as she spoke faintly. Without waiting for a response, she leaned up and pulled Rika into her arms, holding her tightly.
Rika was clearly taken by surprise when she suddenly found herself in Chaewon's embrace, but she didn't put up any resistance. Be it by her genuine desire, or her desperate need for comfort, she couldn't help but lean into her, letting her emotions carry her weight. She was so tiny like this. Especially next to Chaewon who could rival V in height, the broadness of her stature carrying with itself a rather intimidating appearance. A stark contrast to Rika's smaller and softer figure. However, in reality, Chaewon was never the one in control. Rika hid her face in her chest, her body trembled slightly and tears began to fall down her cheeks again.
"Ray was right to choose her over me. I'm a monster..." she whispered as she sobbed.
"No, you're not," Chaewon responded immediately, her voice firm but soft, as she held Rika close to her. Her heart broke when she saw her like this and heard how Rika thought of herself. Rika was held tight by her arm, while the other one gently rubbed her back in a comforting manner, "You're not a monster, Rika."
Her chin rested on top of Rika's head as she gently repeated herself.
Chaewon's shirt was stained by tears that continued to run down Rika's cheeks. It's like she tried to escape her inner torment by pressing herself against her bodyguard that was sworn to protect her. The sobs continued to escape her mouth, causing her body to tremble slightly. In one smooth movement, Chaewon laid them both down onto the soft covers, with them now laying on their sides, facing each other.
"Yes, I am..." Rika whispered softly. For once, her guilt and remorse were like a heavy burden on her shoulders, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of being a bad person she always knew she was. She was consumed by her own self-destructive thoughts, believing that she deserved all the suffering she was currently experiencing.
But she was a weak willed person. Not at all like Ray or Natasha. She was still scared of the pain, of the loneliness, of being left behind. She couldn't accept her mistakes. Not fully.
Accepting them meant facing every single thing she had done wrong in all the years of her life.
And that was terrifying.
Rika's tears were making Chaewon's shirt fully wet now, but she didn't care. She only cared about providing Rika with the comfort she needed at that moment. She remained close to her while slowly running her hand up and down her back in an effort to calm her.
"Stop it," she spoke with a gentle tone, her voice still a bit gruff, but soft. Hearing Rika talk about herself in that way was unbearable to her, "You're not a monster. You're a good person, Rika."
When Chaewon contradicted her, Rika felt a strange sense of comfort blooming in her chest ever so faintly. Her body was shaking in her arms while she buried her wet and tear-stained face in her bodyguard's chest.
"How can you say that so easily...?" she spoke in a shaky manner, "How can you say that... after everything... I've done...?"
Her sobs grew louder once more and she tightened her grip on her former friend's shirt.
Chaewon's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't heard Rika speak like that in years. Sure, she had her moments of vulnerability, and even breakdowns, but... This was no longer the Savior of Mint Eye, she realized. This was Rika just like she knew her prior to their new lives here in Magenta.
This was her friend just like she remembered her.
But this feeling was a bittersweet one, not a joyous one. Even Chaewon knew that they crossed a point of no return a long while ago. They both did so willingly. And they both now had sins to bear. Sins that Chaewon could not take away from Rika, even if she wanted to.
Still...
In an effort to comfort her, she allowed Rika to hold on to her shirt slightly tighter while still rubbing her back. Rika's words caused her heart to hurt as she replayed them in her head again.
"Because I know you," her voice was quiet and gentle as she replied softly. She slowly slid her hand up and gently ran her fingers through Rika's hair. She kept her close by leaning her chin on top of her head again, "I know you're a good person, Rika."
Rika felt like she was floating on air thanks to Chaewon's words and the soft touch of her hand through her hair. She felt less alone and isolated from the world when she was comforted in this way. She always did. Inhaling deeply, she tried to calm the sobs that still shook her body.
"Ray chose her over me. A girl he knew for less than a year. He chose to leave, to abandon me for... for her," her voice was broken and full of remorse, as she whispered. Though, there were clear hints of resentment seeping through there as well, "What did she whisper in those ears of his? What promises did she make? I-"
A silent pause followed.
"...It's my fault," in a way, Rika wasn't making any sense. Her tone switched from hurt and angry to remorseful in an instant. She couldn't even understand herself, "I shouldn't have punished her. That drove him away from me, didn't it...? He cared so much for her, of course he would see me as a heartless monster after I... after I did that to her."
Chaewon pulled back from their embrace, laying on her side as she gazed at Rika, her hand still running through her hair. Rika's voice was filled with sorrow and remorse, and it was painful to listen to her talk about herself like that. In an effort to comfort her, she pulled her closer and massaged her back in a soothing way.
"-But you've helped people, Rika. You saved so many lives," she spoke softly, her voice now growing a tad firmer. She wanted Rika to see all the good she had done, not just focus on the bad, "Ray and Saeran were just fine with you before she came along. I always knew she wasn't truly one of us. That little thing. Trembling in her shoes whenever her precious boss wasn't there to protect her."
Chaewon shook her head briefly, a slow steady breath leaving her lips. Her gaze hardened as it settled back on Rika.
That's right.
None of this was her fault.
Rika wouldn't have acted out in the first place, if it wasn't for Natasha.
It was all that girl's fault. Not Rika's.
"Ray is a gullible fool who still believes in his fairytales. It wouldn't be hard to fill his head with promises of a happy future," she muttered, her fingers still running through Rika's curls, twirling them around absentmindedly, "-And Saeran is far too impulsive for his own good. I should've put him in his place when he screamed at you last week. We weren't prudent enough, you and I. But it isn't our fault."
Rika was quiet as she stared back at her, her expression unreadable. Chaewon reached out to wipe her thumb under her eye, wiping the salty moisture off her delicate skin.
"...We will fix this. I will fix this. For you."
"You will...?" Rika murmured, sounding both hopeful and somehow doubtful.
Chaewon nodded: "I will. I promised you that I would stay by your side until you reach your dream. And I will abide by my promises to you. In whatever form it will take."

supernatural s12e8 lotus (w. eugenie ross-leming, brad buckner)
i wanted to revisit that little lucifer!vince meltdown in 12x07 because i thought maybe i was too high to parse what was happening or something. i definitely misunderstood something, but the emotional content still doesn't make sense to me. anyway, details about partial confusion resolution
i didn't think anything was gonna top the leviathans in most loathed (but more in a boring way) villain but british men of letters are bringing the eye rolling heat.
CROWLEY Lucifer's not content with slutting it from one random vessel to the next. He's moving on to blue chips—celebrities, captains of industry. He just got a lot more dangerous. CASTIEL I agree with Agent Zappa. DEAN Oh, will you stop?
i laughed but like, it'd be more fun if cas was trying to rile him up instead of being in clueless robot mode. feels like we get a different cas every episode
there is something amusing about crossing this trope of the catholic church getting infiltrated by the devil and they try to exorcise him with the spn universe where lucifer and exorcism is all a very different kind of beast.
and now he's in the president, of course. they really have defanged lucifer. now he's getting the cartoon villain treatment too. mark played him on this edge of charisma and creepy and ... actually scary, in a way that he felt like a real, solid threat. who had done awful, awful things to our sam specifically, that left him deeply traumatized. anyway, it's not just switching actors, but this story they're wedging him into.
Tumblr media
swift kick to the gut while i'm sitting here musing on a president leading a morning prayer that this aired in december 2016.
Tumblr media
LUCIFER It's almost like I've never done that before.
???????
i also had a visceral hate of the rape references/"jokes" lucifer repeatedly made to sam (were they all hallucifer? imagine so) this makes ZERO sense. and also, what the fuck, is this a sitcom? oh the literal devil is feeling offkilter because he's just had sex for the first time teehee aww. WHAT
SAM Crowley, can we just get the damn news without the drama? CROWLEY Can I get you without the flannel? No. Still, I endure.
lol good one, crowley
look at me not overreacting about sam sneaking off to make an aborted phone call and trying to hide it. why the fuck is he calling the bad mol people though...???
having serious dick roman flashbacks with this lucifer plotline.
Tumblr media
CASTIEL There's been a massive surge in celestial energy. A Nephilim is come into being. It's the offspring of an angel and a human. DEAN And that's big news? CASTIEL Yes, but the power to produce this is immense. It's much, much greater than a typical angel. SAM Lucifer. DEAN W— Lucifer? I didn't know he was dating.
again, are we in a sitcom? tone of the episode is really not meshing with the jokes they're going for, for me. is this gonna be the nephilim i've heard of?
SAM Do we have a plan? DEAN Impeach LOTUS and find Rosemary's Baby.
oh, silly me. i was thinking lotus the car brand, thought the episode might have some car-slant. lucifer of the united states 🥴
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
seeing them clearly in the car, outside, makes me realize just how much of the driving shown is at night (for production reasons, obviously)
Tumblr media
required hair appreciation note. maybe i had to slog through some truly atrocious haircuts/styles and sideburns to fully appreciate getting here
god. i have such a kneejerk queasy reaction to take five by dave brubeck. my brief stint (during a really Bad Time in my life) at university i would kill time between classes at a place near this cd shop on campus. they played take five over and over and over and over. it's a great piece of music but it still immediately throws me back into this really miserable headspace.
that said, i do think it was used well in this scene. and that was a really good little action sequence, nice tight pacing. sam and dean's reaction to the explosion was really good and it felt like they were right there (and magically baby did not get damaged by the explosion right in her face). cas standing in front of it, unbothered, cliche but still fun. but then fucko had to start talking and i mentally checked out.
coulda had fucko drive up in a lotus but no, bentley 😔 probably harder to obtain a lotus in whatever, vancouver
hurray sam's furtive phone call to bad people already addressed in the same episode.
introducing all sorts of goofy ass weapons. sure, why not
Tumblr media
is there a snappy name for this team-up?
CASTIEL The thing inside you, it's unholy. It's an abomination.
great. surely she's gonna want to keep the lucifer!baby then
the magical egg scene went on way too long. i guess it was supposed to be high stakes zapping lucifer back to the cage but god it's just all so not.
Tumblr media
i really love how crowley's teleportation is silent, no vfx other than cutting so he's just gone. it's surprisingly effective. anyway, kind of hoping they can work out their problems. good pair
the whole dean being somewhat in awe that they got lucifer felt... i dunno. like ok so is this when we find out he didn't actually end up in the cage?
uh. why are dean and sam there just hanging out with the president? and getting arrested? what. great. my fave.

The Unsung Hero of Ted Lasso
A deep dive into the meaning behind the music.
There are few characters that go unloved in Ted Lasso, if any at all. As we are reintroduced to the faces and stories we’ve come to adore and so deliciously crave, I implore you to pay particular attention to the mightiest of supporting characters, one that drives the show well beyond the quick-witted dialogue on the page.
“The Lasso Way,” as Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca not-so-deceptively establishes in the show’s premiere episode, has certainly swept us off our feet. There’s no other way of putting it: “Ted Lasso is a vibe.” Creator and star Jason Sudeikis uttered the words himself whilst speaking to The Guardian during a press run for the streaming series’ second season, and it’s become somewhat of a battle cry for fans. If you ask me, which no one necessarily is yet here we are, nothing more directly and appropriately conveys the true essence of that vibe, than the music that carries the show.
If you’re tired of cycling through your ‘on repeat’ playlist, or looking to mix things up on your 2am train ride to work like me, look no further than the Ted Lasso soundtrack. While the original score for the show is equally as evocative and emotionally compelling, it is the song selection that truly crafts a narrative of its own.
Sudeikis has said more than once that decisions for the show are made with intention, and extreme attention to detail. It’d be naive to think those songs were selected without greater meaning. So, here I am, tipping my hat to the music supervision of this beautiful show.
Music in absolutely any context has an incredibly niche way of infiltrating our defenses, exposing every nerve to the complexities of life. And that is why the song sourcing that goes into curating the soundtrack of Ted Lasso is so impressive. It is robust, resolute. It truly takes you by the hand and guides you through the series. While our favorite characters’ stories still have 12 episodes to resolve, the final words of an episode - the lyrics, those melodies - they are what bring us home each week.
Those songs that play us out - or end the episode, if you’re not familiar with the term, à la Bill O’Reilly’s infamous on-set meltdown - they provide us relief in ways dialogue just can’t. It’s why there are entire categories at major award ceremonies dedicated to songs written for film and television. Hell, the Emmys only added a category solely for music supervision in the last decade. Better late than never, to say the least, but in classic English vernacular, I’m chuffed to bits by it - because the soundtrack is largely what makes iconic on-screen moments memorable. Those songs make must-see tv, must-listen, too.
It all leads back to two vital pillars to any successful storytelling: pace and tone.
Think “Kiss Me” and She’s All That, “Chasing Cars” and Grey’s Anatomy, or literally any John Hughes project - these are the shows and movies that made us, and they are intrinsically intertwined with songs that bring us back to the moment we first got to experience them. They’re inevitably linked in our minds forever.
Certain songs will live alongside the series’ legacy far beyond its impending end. “She’s A Rainbow,” “Strange,” “Somewhere Only We Know,” just to name a few, all contribute to moments that are embedded in the heart and soul of the show. Moments where our beloved characters are faced with the steepest peaks and deepest valleys their fictional lives come to encounter. I’d be remiss not to acknowledge that many of the most captivating scenes of the series are accompanied by songs with uncanny parallels to the character’s storylines.
The word that comes to mind is catharsis. In scenes loaded with suspense like Ted’s season one panic attack during Rebecca’s commanding karaoke performance of Frozen’s “Let It Go,” we cling to the melody and ride that tension right until it breaks. Then, you delve into the lyrical content and piece together even more context to the scene, like reading between the lines for little messages left to us by the brains behind the show. A well-placed song elevates a scene; it amplifies the emotional intensity of what’s written on the page, and just makes us feel all the feels. And at the end of the day, that’s why we’re all here. We watch so we can feel. So we can experience and emote as a collective whole. A community.
My anticipation for the third season surrounds greatly around the role music will play in what is likely the final installment of this series. After screening the first four episodes, I can confidently confirm the music supervision hasn’t missed a beat. If anything, the songs chosen feel even more integral to the passionate, visceral sways of emotion already taking over our beloved characters. I’ve already added several of the songs to a private playlist, so as not to spoil anything for the negative six people perusing my Spotify.
As an avid lover of music and fierce defender of song feeding the soul, I'm enthralled by how Ted Lasso’s melodic arch tucks right alongside the dialogue, editing, cinematography - the whole kit and caboodle. It’s all right there, swirling the sweetest harmony and serving this wonderful, wonderful show.
Because anyone will tell you, on a ride that's long and labyrinthian, you’ve gotta have somebody good on the aux.

"Mastering Communication Skills: The Key to Personal and Professional Success"
Introduction
Effective communication is an essential skill that influences every aspect of our lives, from personal relationships to professional interactions. Mastering communication skills can enhance your ability to connect with others, convey your thoughts clearly, and resolve conflicts amicably. This article explores the importance of communication skills, the components that make up effective communication, and practical strategies to improve these skills.
The Importance of Communication Skills
Communication is the foundation of human interaction. Whether in personal or professional settings, the ability to communicate effectively can lead to better relationships, increased productivity, and enhanced collaboration.
Building Relationships: Strong communication fosters trust and understanding, allowing individuals to connect on a deeper level.
Professional Advancement: In the workplace, effective communicators are often seen as leaders and are more likely to succeed in their careers.
Conflict Resolution: Good communication skills help in navigating misunderstandings and resolving conflicts peacefully.
Components of Effective Communication
Effective communication involves several key components:
Active Listening: This means fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just passively hearing the speaker's words. Active listening involves providing feedback, asking clarifying questions, and demonstrating understanding through body language.
Clarity and Conciseness: Being clear and concise helps ensure that your message is understood. Avoid jargon and overly complex language, and aim to get to the point quickly.
Non-Verbal Communication: Body language, eye contact, and facial expressions play a significant role in how your message is received. Being aware of your non-verbal cues can enhance your communication.
Empathy: Understanding and acknowledging the feelings of others can lead to more meaningful conversations. Empathetic communicators can better connect with their audience and respond appropriately to their emotions.
Confidence: Communicating with confidence conveys authority and can help persuade others. This doesn’t mean being aggressive but rather expressing your ideas assertively.
Strategies for Improving Communication Skills
Improving communication skills is an ongoing process. Here are several strategies to help you enhance your abilities:
Practice Active Listening: Engage in conversations without interrupting. Show that you are listening by nodding and using verbal affirmations. After the speaker has finished, summarize what you’ve heard to ensure understanding.
Seek Feedback: Ask friends, family, or colleagues for feedback on your communication style. Constructive criticism can provide insights into areas for improvement.
Engage in Public Speaking: Joining groups like Toastmasters can help you practice public speaking in a supportive environment. This experience can boost your confidence and help refine your verbal communication skills.
Read and Write Regularly: Reading expands your vocabulary and exposes you to different communication styles. Writing, whether in a journal or through professional communication, allows you to practice clarity and conciseness.
Observe Effective Communicators: Pay attention to individuals who excel in communication, whether in personal or professional settings. Analyze their techniques and consider how you can incorporate similar strategies into your own style.
Role-Playing: Practicing difficult conversations through role-playing can help you prepare for real-life interactions. This method allows you to experiment with different approaches and receive feedback in a safe environment.
Be Mindful of Non-Verbal Cues: Reflect on your body language and tone of voice. Being aware of these non-verbal signals can help you align your message with your intent.
Conclusion
Mastering Communication Skills is a vital component of success in both personal and professional spheres. By focusing on active listening, clarity, empathy, and non-verbal communication, you can enhance your interactions and build stronger relationships. The journey to becoming a more effective communicator takes time and practice, but the rewards are well worth the effort. As you develop these skills, you’ll find that your ability to connect with others and express yourself will greatly improve, leading to a more fulfilling life.

FAVOURITE TYPE OF DEATH
─ Arthur Rimbaud (Leonardo DiCaprio)
────────────────────────────
Tumblr media
────────────────────────────
tw - mention of death and attempted muder
────────────────────────────
The room is dark, the only light a faint glow filtering through the curtains. You’re asleep, your body at rest, the silence wrapping around you like a cocoon. But that calm is soon shattered. The door creaks open, a shadow slipping through, moving toward you with slow, deliberate steps.
You feel a touch, light and teasing, fingers brushing against your skin. The sensation pulls you from sleep. Your eyes open in a sudden jolt, your heart skipping a beat as you almost scream. But then you see him. Arthur. His smirk plays on his lips as he hovers over you, enjoying your vulnerability, basking in your moment of weakness.
Your breath catches in your throat as you stare up at him. "Arthur," you manage to whisper, your voice sharp,"Don't you think your sudden presence can give someone a heart attack." While you were serious, Arthur as always find it humourous and states that you are not the type that can die from heart failures.
"Correct. And it's not my preferred type of death anyways." You state in a monotone tone, thinking Arthur once again might give some sadistic repose but shockingly he was interested in what kind of death you preferred.
You didn't hesitate. "Strangled," you reply, your tone flat, almost detached. "That’s how I’d prefer to go." One might think this lead to a deeper conversation though that wasn't case here.
There’s silence between you, thick with tension. And then, without warning, his shoots out, wrapping his hands around your neck. His grip is firm but not yet suffocating. His eyes lock with yours, a cruel glint flashing in them as he leans in closer, his voice a low growl. "Like this, (Y/N)?"
He envisions you panicking—your nails digging into his skin, your face twisting in terror, begging for breath. He imagines your body writhing beneath him, your life slipping away as you fight to stay alive. But as stated, it was all part of his imagination cause reality doesn’t match his fantasy.
Instead of desperation that all he saw was a calm face. Your hands rest still at your sides, not reaching for him, not fighting back. You just stare at him, your eyes unwavering, your breath slowing under his grip. And in your gaze, there’s something that unsettles him—a quiet, chilling acceptance.
You wait, your eyes locked on his, as if challenging him, daring him to go further. There’s no fear in you, no panic. Only a calm, resolute strength. It unnerves him in ways he didn’t expect.
His fingers tighten for a brief moment, just enough to feel your pulse beneath his touch. But it’s not enough to scare you. Instead, it’s him who feels the tension, the pressure of your gaze weighing down on him. He expected fear, he wanted resistance. Instead, you give him nothing but quiet defiance.
His grip loosens. His hand slips from your throat, retreating in frustration. You don’t move, don’t flinch. You just keep staring, your eyes holding that same unreadable expression, as if you see through him, see past his cruel games and into something far deeper, far more fragile.
He stands, watching you for a long moment, his heart pounding in his chest, his control over the situation feels hollow, as though you’ve taken it from him without even trying.
He loosen his grip on your throat as he let out a comment that was supposed to be taunt to you but sounds more like a cover to hide his lack of power in situation.
"Do you really think I will let you die this easily?" A smirk dancing on his charming face.
"I would be a fool to even imagine it."

Solution: Plan your content in advance. Set specific goals for each stream—whether it’s to entertain, educate, or engage. Create outlines or scripts to keep you on track.
6. Overlooking Chat Moderation
Mistake: Unmoderated chat can quickly devolve into negativity or chaos, driving viewers away.
Solution: Use moderators to help manage chat interactions. Set clear rules for behavior and utilize moderation tools to filter out inappropriate comments or spam.
7. Not Utilizing Analytics
Mistake: Many streamers overlook the data available to them, missing valuable insights into their audience’s preferences.
Solution: Regularly review analytics provided by your streaming platform. Pay attention to metrics like viewer retention, peak times, and chat activity to inform your content strategy.
8. Underestimating the Power of Branding
Mistake: A lack of branding can make your stream forgettable and hinder audience connection.
Solution: Develop a cohesive brand that includes visual elements like logos, overlays, and color schemes. Use consistent language and tone across your platforms to create a recognizable identity.
9. Streaming Without Engaging Content
Mistake: Simply playing a game or chatting without a clear focus can make streams dull.
Solution: Curate content that’s engaging and relevant to your audience. This could involve themed streams, collaborations, or special events that invite viewer participation.
10. Neglecting Self-Care
Mistake: Burnout is a real threat for many streamers, especially those who push themselves too hard to maintain a presence.
Solution: Prioritize self-care by taking breaks, setting boundaries, and allowing yourself downtime. Remember, a well-rested streamer is more engaging and enjoyable to watch.
Conclusion
Avoiding these common streaming mistakes can significantly enhance your streaming experience and build a loyal audience. By focusing on quality, engagement, consistency, and self-care, you can create a thriving community around your content. As you navigate the dynamic world of live streaming, remember that growth takes time, and learning from your missteps is part of the journey. Embrace the process, stay adaptable, and enjoy the connections you build along the way!

Mastering Workplace Harmony: Strategies for Effective Conflict Resolution In The Workplace
Tumblr media
In every workplace, conflicts are expected to take place. Whether it's a disagreement over project direction, clashes in personalities, or tension due to miscommunication, conflicts can disrupt productivity and morale if left unaddressed. However, conflict resolution is a skill that can be learned, leading to healthier work environments and stronger team cohesion. Here are some crucial strategies for effective conflict resolution in the workplace:
Open Communication: Focusing on encouraging open communication is key to resolving conflicts efficiently. Create a culture where your team feels safe expressing any concerns and opinions without fear of judgment or retaliation. Encourage active listening, where each party listens to the other's perspective without interruption or assumption.
Clarify Expectations: Many conflicts arise due to misunderstandings or unmet expectations. Ensure that roles, responsibilities, and project objectives are clearly defined. When everyone understands what is expected of them, it reduces the likelihood of conflicts arising.
Address Issues Early: Don't let conflicts simmer and escalate. Address them as soon as they arise to prevent them from becoming larger problems. Encourage employees to voice their concerns when they notice tensions brewing and provide channels for them to do so, such as regular check-ins or anonymous suggestion boxes.
Seek Common Ground: During conflict resolution, focus on finding common ground, not dwelling on differences. Identify shared goals or interests and use them as a foundation for finding solutions that benefit everyone involved. This approach fosters collaboration and encourages a sense of unity among team members.
Use Mediation Techniques: In cases where conflicts involve multiple parties or are particularly complex, consider bringing in a neutral mediator to facilitate discussions. Mediators can help defuse tensions, guide conversations toward productive outcomes, and ensure that all voices are heard impartially.
Practice Empathy: Empathy plays a critical role in resolving conflicts effectively. Encourage employees to put themselves in each other's shoes and consider the perspectives and feelings of their colleagues. Understanding where the other person is coming from can help de-escalate conflicts and pave the way for mutually beneficial solutions.
Focus on Solutions, Not Blame: When addressing conflicts, shift the focus from assigning blame to finding solutions. Instead of dwelling on past mistakes or grievances, concentrate on identifying actionable steps that can resolve the issue and prevent it from happening again in the future.
Follow-Up: After a conflict has been resolved, make sure to follow up with the involved parties to ensure that the agreed-upon solutions are being implemented effectively. Monitoring the situation allows you to address any lingering issues promptly and prevent conflicts from resurfacing.
Provide Training and Support: Invest in training programs that equip employees with conflict resolution skills. Offer things like workshops, seminars, or online courses that teach effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving techniques. Additionally, provide ongoing support and resources to help employees navigate conflicts as they arise.
Lead by Example: As a leader or manager, set the tone for constructive conflict resolution by modeling positive behaviors. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a willingness to listen during disagreements, and be proactive in addressing conflicts as they arise within your team.
By implementing these strategies, workplaces can cultivate a culture of open communication, empathy, and collaboration, paving the way for more effective conflict resolution and ultimately creating a more productive work environment.

Web Design When a Logo Is Your Only Brand Asset
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/web-design-when-a-logo-is-your-only-brand-asset/
Web Design When a Logo Is Your Only Brand Asset
It’s challenging to build websites for clients. It takes communication and cooperation. Web designers also need enough resources to do the job right.
That last part can be tricky. And it’s not just financial resources that are in short supply. Clients may lack brand assets as well.
The issue often occurs with smaller organizations. They might not have the budget for custom photography or print materials. Thus, you could receive a low-resolution logo and not much else.
Is a logo enough to build a design around? You may be surprised at what a logo can inspire. Even basic images can tell us a lot about our client.
With that, let’s see what we can learn from a client’s logo.
Their Preferred Colors and Typography
Here’s hoping your client’s logo features a few colors. It’s a big help in determining the website’s color scheme.
However, even a single color will provide clues. You can create a palette based on a primary color. Several online tools will do the job for you. They’ll generate complimentary colors and shadings.
You’ll want to run these by your client for approval. But a logo can do wonders for inspiring the perfect color scheme.
The same goes for typography. Simple logo fonts could be appropriate for use elsewhere. For example, a clean serif font makes for a solid text heading. Unsure of the fonts used in the logo? You can use a font identification tool to help.
Script and display style fonts aren’t always a fit, though. They could be too difficult to read as headings or body text. But you can still use them as a basis for finding acceptable pairings.
The Client’s Personality and Tone
Is your client’s organization serious and buttoned down? Or maybe they’re a bit more relaxed? Their logo can provide clues.
Both color and typography tell a story. Bright and neon colors may indicate a casual vibe. An old-fashioned wordmark says it’s all business.
Illustrations also play a role. Does the logo contain a cartoonish figure? What about a simple line drawing of an office? Each can help you create the right mood.
You can also use this information when choosing other design assets. Items like icons and stock photos should match the tenor of the logo.
There are other indicators beyond the logo. Your client’s industry is important. Their communication style is also a factor. Still, their logo says a lot about who they are.
A Path for Reaching the Target Audience
Who is your client’s target audience? Their industry and clientele are deciding factors.
But details may be scarce. Clients with limited brand assets may not have a lot of demographics to share. And they’re unlikely to have a research budget.
In that case, a logo can show you a path to reaching the right audience. Or at least facilitate an educated guess.
For instance, an image could convey the relative age of the audience. And it’s also possible to target other identifying characteristics. Things like gender, identity, or financial status come to mind.
All of this assumes that the logo fits your client’s brand. That’s not always the case. However, web designers can only work with what’s available. Any imperfections are out of our control.
Making the Most of the Brand Assets You Have
Designing a website without brand assets is difficult. How can we create a relevant look without a guide? And even a client’s previous website may not be of much help.
In many instances, a logo is all we have to go on. It happens time and again, even in this digital age. And it presents a challenge for web designers.
However, a decent logo provides a starting point. It can lead us to some answers. We can use it to craft color and typographic schemes. And it’s also possible to understand more about your client’s personality and target audience.
At the very least, a logo serves as a basis for discussion. Assess what you have and ask for your client’s feedback. You may be on the right track. Or your client may have to go back to the drawing board.
Either way, the logo might be the best tool to move the project forward. There are more details within than you may think.

Legal Considerations: Be aware of the legal implications of self-defense. Understand your rights and responsibilities in self-defense situations. Some self-defense classes cover legal aspects and ethical considerations.
