random shiny~~~
what is my luck with this game?
last cookie clicker run I didn't get a shiny wrinlker; now on my 2nd ascention, just to keep the wrinkler number a nice and even number, i popped them
and guess what spawned?
I hunted for this intentionally last game but lost the save data before I actually found one~~
how long will it take me to completely surround the cookie with shiny wrinklers?
rip cause I wanted to ascend tonight~~~
see how long I can go before I get bored of trying to hunt and get an entire cookie ring of wrinklers?
when do I destroy it? hopefully I'll get more later~~~ hope I don't lose it when my game reloads or something stupid happens~~~
cause can't you lose your shiny wrinklers in an older cookie clicker version? that scares me, lol...
#personal#thoughts#thinking#my screenshot#browser version#javascript console isn't open cause it's cheating and I don't cheat#and don't know how to open it anyway~~ so I won't#shiny#full odds shiny#shiny wrinkler#wrinkler#cookie clicker#cookie clicker browser version#wasn't even starting to hunt it yet this game#I just wanted my popped wrinklers number to be even#1/10000#it's like finding a shiny pokemon randomly#cause there's no way of boosting your odds with these things#hype#excitement

so i'm trying to actually complete my pokedex in pokemon scarlet, and. um. i have BOTW and TOTK brain (have played both of them for over 100 hours each- actually nearing 250 for TOTK), so i thought there was like. a 100+ stakes to pull out of the ground to get the 4 local legendaries, similarly the shrines. but no. there is actually only 32 total, with 8 per legendary. i forgot which game i was playing, which is actually the game meant for children to be able to play
#void keith talks#gremlin shenanigans#silly#game stuff#i actually really like completing scarvio's pokedex#because of the little mini rewards#feels really good to get Extra Stuff every 10 pokemon instead of just one (1) certificate at the end that says “you did it!” & nothing else#anyways i'm at 397 pokemon out of 400 total and i feel like a badass because of it#i'm doing stuff in this game i've never been able to do in previous games#like get my whole main team to level 100. or obtain and hatch eggs really easily and fast. or find shinies randomly in the wild!!!#i already completed the story (and i liked it a lot! it was very fun!!) so it's nice that there's more i can do without buying the DLC#...i kinda wanna fly though. that's the one thing i'm jealous of#pokemon#pokemon scarlet#pokemon scarlet and violet#pokemon scarvi#pokemon scarvio

fuma as a crush and bf ₊˚ෆ
crush/bf!fuma x fem!reader 0.7k words requested!
▸ 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺?
When fuma has a crush on you, he’d..
(♡•♡) give you small smiles whenever you enter the room, whenever you open your mouth to speak, whenever you make eye contact.. It’s just his way of saying hello without sounding like an idiot.
(♡•♡) stutter whenever you talk to him. It’s part of the reason why he likes to stick to small smiles. Not because he hates your presence, he just hates the fact that he stutters so much around you, his cheeks burning red as he bats his eyes to the floor, finding his shoes extra shiny
(♡•♡) be protective over you. He likes to call himself subtle, but anyone walking by can see the glares he gives to men when they try to even take a glance at you. You don’t know it yet, but you’re his girl, so no one is going to be looking at you in any type of way >:(
(♡•♡) follow you like a lost puppy. Or should I say, “she said she likes this, so I’m going to do the same thing” knowing good and well he despises whatever action you’re doing. If you decide to put bows in his hair, he’d be cringing on the inside, but hey, at least you’re happy 🤷♀️
(♡•♡) confess when you’re trapped inside a run down elevator. Usually fuma would like to keep his feelings to himself, but he hates when he begins to second guess the situation, thinking about all the possible ways something could go wrong. It limits him from being happy, and he hates feeling trapped inside a box. So as you’re sitting there in silence, he’d randomly blurt out the feelings he’s been holding back, finally able to get them off his chest. He doesn’t expect you to like him back, so to say he was a little shocked when you got up and kissed him was an understatement.
When you’re dating fuma, he’d..
♥‿♥ want to go grocery shopping together! He’d insist on carrying all the baskets and paying for all your purchases, your only job is to point at the things you want so he can get them for you. Likes to socialize when waiting in the checkout line, his arm wrapped around your waist while he pushes your head to his shoulder; he’s not exactly a pda type of guy, but he does crave your warmth from time to time :3
♥‿♥ put his hand on your thigh whenever you’re in a dinner setting. This isn’t to rile you up in any type of way, just like a comforting reminder, chanting the words, “I’m here,” if you somehow manage to forget. He’d also feed you snacks if you’re out on a picnic or something. It honestly reminds me of High School Musical, the scene where Troy and Gabriella are trying to throw grapes into each other's mouths. It’s romantic yet silly, something fuma cherishes.
♥‿♥ want you to go to the gym with him. You don’t even have to work out, he just likes it when you’re watching him do his form. He feels powerful almost, knowing he’s the reason why you drool, which keeps him motivated to do better 😋
♥‿♥ be your #1 supporter. Like I said before, fuma doesn’t like being trapped inside a box, so he’d encourage himself to step out of his shell and face his fears, the same goes for you. He understands why you’re scared, but he wants you to understand that he will be with you every step of the way. When you finally face your fear, fuma would be so proud of you, spending the rest of the day (or week (or month)) spoiling you, celebrating your victory. And if you didn’t, fuma would console you, because at least you tried your hardest, you know?
♥‿♥ nag at you. Fuma is not only your boyfriend.. He’s your mother atp. Nags at you for going outside without a jacket. Nags at you for staying inside and playing pokemon all day. Nags at you for refusing to eat your vegetables – he’d give you one stern look, and right then and there did you know that you messed up. He doesn’t want to seem mean, but he wants you to take care of your health is all :((

I randomly got a pokemon hyperfix so welcome to my: prsk characters and their favorite pokemon (or the one most like them in my opinion based solely on designs bc i like them), most of these are the ones i see them having as a first pokemon (i mean, the evolved ones probably got the first version but yknow)
In other words
Kin typing prsk characters as pokemon (chaos edition)
I started with niigo since Mizuki and Sylveon is what started all of this idea.
[image ID: a picture with the empty sekai background, all of niigo transparents are on it with their anniversary outfit, first is Mizuki, with a Sylveon image on their feet. Next is Mafuyu, with a shiny Bunnelby also on her feet. Next is Ena, with a Torchic on her head. And Kanade with a Meloetta on her feet]
Ok i know i said "the ones i see them having as a first pokemon" and Meloetta is a mythical but if you playing as a 10yo can catch one so can Kanade fuck it.
[Image ID: a picture with the street Sekai background, all of the vivid bad squad transparents in their anniversary outfits. First is Akito with a Torracat on his feet. Next is Kohane with a Morpeko. Then is An with a Rockpuff shiny. And lastly Toya with a Riolu.]
You guys have no idea how happy I was when seeing dog pokemon for An i found out that the one that felt like shed use the most was blue in the shiny.
Also, fun fact, im putting these in the order that im thinking of them in.
[Image ID: a picture with the classroom Sekai background, with the Leo/need girls also in their anniversary outfits. It starts with Saki with a shiny Yamper, Honami with an Appletun on the top of her drum, Shiho with a Luxray and Ichika with a Pikachu]
I just feel like Ichika would appreciate the classics such as Pikachu, and also poor Yamper i did not find a 2D model of your shiny
[Image ID: image with the stage sekai background and the more more jump girls, again with their anni outfits, Haruka has an Empoleon behind her, Minori is holding a Lillipup, Airi has a Snubull and Shizuku an alolan Ninetales]
THESE WERE THE HARDEST TO FIT DUE TO EMPOLEON AND NINETALES BEING A BIT BIGGER, also bc they're jumping and i have less size notion with them in the fuckinf air.
Also, first one I didn't feel the need for a shiny, the designs fit easily without a change of colors.
[image ID: an image with the wonderland sekai background, wonderlandxshowtime is wearing the anniversary outfits, Emu has a tinkaton, Nene has a Golett, Rui has a Rotom flying around his head, and Tsukasa has a galarian Rapidash]
And to finish it off, i needed help with Rui and Tsukasa from professionals (wxs fans that are also old ass pokemon fans, my hyperfixation literally started 3 days ago), also, in my head, Nene has a shiny Golett, which has green lines instead of yellow, but i didnt see any model to use so oof.
And thats all, that was very fun to do!! I accidentally made my friends start yelling teams for them on discor

I got ahold of a copy of JPN Emerald some time ago.
I'm beginning to prep for a playthrough, as well as doing research on ACE and decamark.
I got the silly idea to try and get myself a Decamark egg that hatches into a Mew, in conjunction with what's needed to shiny hunt the faraway island mew.
you did something similar right?
I know there is a way to make Mew hatch from an egg, but it’s… incredibly complicated and I think you need a computer and to dump the file.
So if your talking just using the cartridge and a Gameboy, then no, you cannot get a mew to hatch from an egg. The Decamark is simply a device/step you do in order to arrive at the faraway island to shiny hunt or catch the mew!
The Decamark itself is often what will hatch from a Bad Egg or Glicthed Egg, as the egg has not pokemon attached and when you hatch it; the game either crashes or a decamark shows up to take the absent place! You’ll be using a decamark in Emerald to change the IDs of two specific gift pokemon to obtain the Good Egg you need for the step, as well as 50 random bad eggs that will threaten your livelyhood lmao
Decamark is multi generational glitch that acts as a place holder/visual representation of glicthed things. Not exclusive to Emerald or Mews, but is a large part in obtaining a Mew in Emerald, hence my association ;3
Anyways, unless you have a game shark, enjoy the 50+ hour prep time and your unknown hunt time! /g
PA: If you find a shiny before you make it to faraway island. DO NOT USE IT. SHOVE IT IN A BOX. You can RNG Manipulate yourself the shiny mew using the PID/SID of that shiny Pokémon to identify your Emerald seed as shiny hunting is frame based, not change based. You’ll only find a shiny if you encounter a Pokémon on a shiny frame. Which out of 56k looping frames there’s maybe like 60-100 shiny frames randomly distributed.
#glitch#glitch rambles#I could seriously talk about this stuff all day if asks questions#it’s a problem XD#the bullet bot#mew glitch#emerald mew#faraway island#faraway island mew#ask me anything#glitch edition

Shiny Pokemon Biology
Hola 👋 We've all heard of shiny pokemon, right? Well quick rundown: shiny pokemon are pokemon with a color variation that is said to shine (hence the name). They're extremely rare, with chances of finding one being 1 in 4,096 (and even rarer in some regions!). But where do they come from? Why are they so rare?
Biology
Shiny pokemon have a gene which is known as "shinism." The gene makes the pokemon have an unusual color and also shine. The gene is a mutation, meaning it can appear randomly. Two normal pokemon might have a shiny baby, and two shiny pokemon could have a normal baby. BUT one thing that stumped biologists for a long time is, "why do pokemon of different regions have a higher chance of being shiny?"
Here's the common theory: Breeding pokemon from different regions have a higher chance of having shiny babirs due to the fact that their genes come from different places, and the offspring's genetics become unstable because of that. The unstable genetics are more likely to cause the mutation, and a shiny pokemon is 5x more likely to come from that egg.
Being a shiny pokemon in the wild is incredibly dangerous, especially if you're prey. The gleaming of their bodies can attract predators, poachers, etc. They're also more prone to blindness and eye damage, as their eyes can lack melanin. That's also a reason why it's so rare.
Scams and Poachers
I felt the need to talk about this. We've all heard of hacked shinier, right? Well, hacked shinies are shiny pokemon that are bred in dangerous and illegal conditions. They're almost always part of an illegal pokemon trade.
These places involve inbreeding, starvation, unhygienic conditions, etc. This pokemon's only purpose is to breed. And them they sell/trade the pokemon to trainers who think it's a good deal. You need to be wary on where you are getting or trading your shiny pokemon.

Cereza's Team, Part One?
The dreaded team post There's literally so much I can say about each one of them so I'm just gonna ramble until I'm tired
for those who don't know, Cereza is my Juliana insert for Pokemon Scarvi
Jumping straight into it then!
Charon - Corviknight
Charon's name is a reference to the ferryman of river Styx. this pays homage to the Corviknight taxis in Paldea
Charon is her first pokemon that she caught when she still lived in Galar
As such Charon is very proud and thinks of himself highly as Cereza's partner
This pride extends to the rest of his personality, specifically in preening. Charon is conscious of his appearance at all times and maintains it nigh constantly. Because of this, he also has a penchant for shiny things.
Charon has a stealing problem. He is no longer allowed around valuable things unattended
Charon is notably close to Styx, her Tinkaton. (Yes I'm aware of the irony and so is Cereza. Cereza did this intentionally)
Charon adores Cereza and shows it by bringing her gifts. (Sometimes that gift is a disgruntled magnemite or other unfortunate steel type) He will give gifts to anyone he approves of, including the other Pokémon on the team
He is very fond of Calanthite, Cereza's Glimmora, because he thinks she is very sparkly. He will try to scoop up the little crystal bits from her Toxic Debris ability and was delighted to find out they no longer poisoned him when he fully evolved into a Steel type
Styx - Tinkaton
Styx's name is a reference to the river Styx, partially to match Charon but also because it phonetically sounds like sticks, which Styx evidently took a liking to as a Tinkatink. At times Styx will affectionately be called Twig or Twigs
Styx was Cereza's first Paldean Pokémon and partially caught her to keep Charon's ego in check
Styx is very rabid enthusiastic and will attack other Pokemon on sight no matter what they are. Self-preservation who? This means Cereza often has to hold onto Styx in some way when she's physically out of her ball.
Styx and Charon have a (eventually friendly) rivalry and they constantly try to one up one another. The two will steal from each other's collections of shiny objects and scrap metal respectively which can and will turn into a physical fight. Cereza has learned it's best to let them fight out their differences
Styx and Charon are incredibly competitive and one will get irritated if the other's level is higher than theirs. Cereza makes a point to keep their levels even, though she's found that it's a great motivator for one if the other's level is higher
Styx uses play fighting and battling in general as a love language. And boy is Styx loving.
Once the other Pokémon on the team get used to Styx's eccentric play fighting tendencies, they start to understand how affectionate and caring Styx is in her own way
Wukong - Annihilape
Wukong's name is a reference to the Monkey King Sun Wukong from Journey to the West
Cereza found Wukong randomly in Kitakami. Wukong was separated from his pack of Mankey because they had kicked him out for being too competitive
Wukong joined Cereza's team under the impression that he was going to lead his new 'pack' but quickly found he was outclassed by his flying and fairy type teammates. This hurt his pride quite a bit, not being able to compete with Charon and Styx the way they did with one another
Cereza noticed this and made sure to give him extra attention, which helped Wukong's self-esteem a lot. He quickly grew to be fonder of Cereza's praise and going stronger alongside her rather than becoming stronger by himself
Wukong is very attached to Cereza though wouldn't admit it at first. He is a very sensitive Pokemon and would sulk a lot as a Mankey for not being able to keep up with the other two. Cereza noticed this behavior and would carry him around on her shoulders whenever he was upset.
Because she was so tender with Wukong, he ended up being raised into a very gentle soul even as a Primeape. He had a good handle on his temper and only ever utilized his short fuse in battle where he could take it out safely. Cereza often made sure that other trainers and Pokemon were aware that as a Primeape, Wukong was still gentle.
Cereza wasn't aware that Primeape had to die to evolve, so her shock when Wukong died as a Primeape was heart wrenching for her. She was sobbing with his body in her arms as she evolved and Wukong held her as her grief-stricken tears turned to ones of relief and elation
Wukong is the biggest sweetheart
Deadeye - Dragapult
Deadeye is slang for a good marksman and missiles are a part of Dragapult's gimmick, thus he was named. Plus, ghost pun :]
Cereza was already fond of Dragapult since she grew up in Galar, plus, Dreepy is intriguing from a research standpoint as well due to being the ghost of an extinct Pokémon, so naturally she caught one
In all honesty, Deadeye baffled her at first. He was a strange little guy, and he grew slower than the rest of the team, so she didn't really know what to do with him. She caught him right before the Festival of Masks and decided to bring him with her to the festival.
She found out after spending a lot of time walking around with him that he was a curious little lizard and liked to poke at anything that moved, similar to Cereza herself. Unfortunately, that also meant Deadeye carried the same recklessness.
Deadeye has a bad habit of believing everything is his friend, even if said friend is chasing him. He will happily turn to Cereza with a wide smile that says 'Look, they're playing tag with me!'
Pokémon battles have always seemed like a game to him for that reason, a very fun game. He has the capability to get very passionate and competitive, he has a lot of heart for a little lizard
Despite his friendly demeanor, Deadeye is also extremely lonely. He didn't have a pod when Cereza found him and as an extinct Pokémon, the oceans, habitat, and Pokémon he grew up with are long gone. Cereza related to this loneliness, having moved and left her old life behind, as well as her struggle to make friends.
As such, Cereza likes to take Deadeye to places like aquariums that have Relicanth exhibits, parts of the ocean most similar to the ones from his time, and fossil Pokémon sanctuaries. She wants him to feel at home in this time as much as possible
This love is very much returned, Deadeye is practically joined at the hip with Cereza. Cereza often has him idly out of his pokeball, stroking his spine or trilling his unique noises back to him
Deadeye somehow gets the dirtiest of all her Pokemon despite formerly being an aquatic Pokemon. This fact baffles her but she makes sure to bathe him frequently. If she doesn't remember, he will fetch the bathing supplies and drop them at her feet as his little (or big, depending on his evo) ghost tail wags
Calanthite - Glimmora
Calanthite is a combination of the names Calanthe, meaning 'beautiful flower', and Chalcanthite, a copper sulphate crystal that Glimmora is based on
Cereza is incredibly fond of the Crystal Pool in Kitakami and spent most of the night there after the whole Milotic debacle with Carmine. Charon wandered off and found what he thought was a strange looking gem that caught his eye because it was glowing. When Calanthite woke up, she panicked and attacked Charon. Having never seen this Pokémon before, Cereza caught her. Cereza spent the rest of the night observing the strange creature, trying to deduce what exactly she was
In that night she found out that, while shy, Calanthite was quite the prankster the moment one turned their back on her. When playing ball with the other Pokémon, Calanthite would often playfully target the back of Cereza's head then do the closest thing a Glimmet can to giggle
Calanthite is very fond of Cereza, she just shows it through pranks and humor. This extends to the other Pokémon as well, unfortunately for them.
Calanthite is very sweet and affectionate, further contrasting her hidden mischievous side. She has good intentions at all times, she mostly just wants to see her teammates and trainer laugh
Calanthite is pretty selfless as well and doesn't mind losing or taking one for the team. Calanthite does gain a taste for winning after seeing how happy it makes the team and Cereza; and the rush it gives her
Calanthite was okay on her own, but Charon finding her was the best thing to happen to her in her eyes. Being alone is fine, but spending her life with the team makes Calanthite truly happy
Ginkgo - Torterra
Ginkgo is a kind of golden leaved tree. In my headcanon, Ginkgo isn't shiny but does have a ginkgo tree on his back.
Ginkgo is the team baby, literally, he hatched from the egg Jacq gifted to Cereza
Cereza was reluctant to add Ginkgo to the team, especially with how competitive some of the members could get *cough* Styx *cough*
What she didn't expect at all was for Wukong to become incredibly attached to Ginkgo and practically claim the little turtle as his kid
Wukong even made sure to play and spar with Ginkgo at his level, and when Styx tried to hop in on the action (giving Cereza a mini heart attack) Wukong quickly interjected and taught Styx how to be gentle with the little sprout.
Wukong and Ginkgo grew as mentor and student, and Ginkgo evolved into Torterra shortly before Wukong's psuedo-death. In that time, Ginkgo had gotten a little too confident and started throwing his new weight around. Ginkgo was really eager to keep up with the rest of the team, but he was going the wrong way about it. Wukong interjected and Ginkgo accidentally hurt Wukong with his new unwieldy power that he hadn't quite learned to handle yet.
After Wukong died then evolved, Ginkgo realized how caring Wukong was and how much he took care of the other members. Wukong had become the leader he initially wanted to be as a Mankey through patience and hard work.
Ginkgo cooled down significantly and grew up a lot, realizing that with his new size and power, he should be pulling his weight, not throwing it around. He started letting Charon roost in his branches, Styx nap under his shade and Wukong meditate similarly under the golden canopy. Anyway, that's all six! Lemme know any questions, ideas, hcs, etc! I adore hearing the thoughts of people that see this :] Even if it's just saying which team member is your favorite, actually, ESPECIALLY those, I wanna know
✨Do whatever you want forever✨

Evening, Mr. T if I'm not mistaken. I was contacting you to learn about your wages in special orders.
-@richerthankalos
Just T is fine. I don't mind the title. Pronoun-wise I prefer more feminine.
I'll send you a private message.
[PM below the cut]
It depends a lot on what you want specifically. I have to go through a few disclaimers first, though.
This might sound cheesy. People who go through things with cages and nets, brute-force methods, never "win". I catch Pokemon like any normal trainer with battling and Poke Balls. I don't do mass-capture of a specific species, I do specific hunts of a unique individual.
I don't hunt Legendary Pokemon, Paradox Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, Mythical Pokemon, or sapient Pokemon. Those are just 5 different ways to get myself killed or sent to jail.
With that out of the way. Base rate for a job hunt is 2k Unovan dollars. Price factors include rarity, Pokemon strength, how far I have to travel for it, Shininess or other visible mutation.
Just a warning that the more specific you, are the less likely it is that your hunt exists. Most of my really unique captures weren't things I randomly set out to find, they were things I heard about beforehand and sought out.
There's also a fee if I get injured and it fucks up a tattoo. But luckily that's only happened once.
Any questions?
#t posting#job offers (ask box)#((bast here. i still have no actual idea what numberical prices SHOULD be. they're expensive but like. a normal amount of expensive))

yesterday when I was taking my devil's nap after work, I had a dream that my brother and I randomly entered a pokemon card game tournament (for the record, we have never played pokemon card game before) and he placed a holographic shiny wurmple card down and did a complicated once in a lifetime play that caused a mountain to shoot lasers into the sky (we live in Texas where there are no mountains) and I, as usual, asked, "wait, i didn't get that, can you explain it again?" and while he was explaining his move again, a rip into the fabric of the universe opened from the lasers (possibly Godzilla was there) and I was getting sucked into another dimension and my brother said this universe we lived in was about get destroyed so he used the special move to send me to a safe universe, and all my pokemon cards flew away and when i landed into the wilderness of another universe, i only had a shiny dragonite with me but it was real like in detective pikachu and i had to find other pokemon trainers who were sent to the safe universe during this pokemon card game tournament.
then i woke up. that all took place in like 5 minutes I swear.

Footballers as Pokémon trainers - pt1, Messi
I decided to mash my two biggest hyperfixations together so yeah let’s just get straight into it
just gonna tag my pokemon mutuals @liverpool-enjoyer and @addictivewhispering !!!! sorry for the tag haha, I just wanted u to see this and validate me :D
Lionel Messi
Messi is probably the only player who will be getting a full team of six, since he’s the greatest player ever I thought it would be fitting for him to have a full team. I based it off stuff about him. Just know that every footballer has a Cinderace as well to train with. I think Messi wouldn't be huge on Pokemon battling tbh, he definitely wouldn't be like a trainer who plays with strategy, moreso he just trusts his team to do their best despite whatever happens.
1. Espurr
Max already explained this but I’d like to expand on it…Espurr is a lot of psychic power in a small body just like Messi is a lot of talent in a tiny body lol. I think Espurr would 100% be his starter Pokémon. I also doubt Messi would evolve it because he likes it this way. But Messi is definitely a good trainer, like really good he probably uses an Everstone.
2. Gogoat
Get it? Because he’s the goat. Also Skiddo (gogoat’s previous form) reminds me a lot of young Messi, just like a strapping brash excitable individual I guess.
3. Arcanine
Arcanine reminds me of Hulk, Messi’s dog. It’s also a fire type, which I think would be native to South America because it’s a sunny, hot weather continent. Arcanine’s “hair” also reminds me of Messi’s bleach hair era so 🤷🏽♂️
4. Marshadow
Probably the only mythical/legendary I’m gonna give any player. I imagine Marshadow isn’t really “his”, but just it follows Messi around and randomly shows up at interviews and games and stuff like that. It travels in his shadow all the time and shows itself from time to time.
5. A Shiny Phantump
I feel like Messi would be a ghost type trainer, if he specialized? Theyre silent and calm like he is. Phantump feels like it would be like Marshadow, just a quiet companion for Messi who follows him around and stuff. And if you're wondering why it's shiny...well white for la scaloneta, blue for barca and red for barca as well. also I just think messi would find those colors more welcoming I guess?
6. Alolan Sandslash
This is probably Messi's main battler. It's blue and white like la Scaloneta and it can roll into a ball so it looks like a football. It's the least personality-connected which is why I think it'd be the one messi uses the most to battle. Its sharp edges also make me think of how Messi can be a killing machine on the pitch.
I wanna do more if y'all wanna see them!

my absolute fav mythic pokemon in its shiny forme is finally here with me - shiny manaphy from pokemon ranger!!! i named mine reides after my beloved dnd oc, who is another sea prince!!! and i'm going to try to make it a 'ribbon master' as well (prob minus a few battle tower related ribbons but We Will See), so i'll be transfering lil reides up through multiple generations. i'm starting off in pearl, where it'll be part of my official storyline team!
i definitely have a lot to say about this hunt. it was absolutely CRAZY from start to finish, by far the craziest one i've ever done, so i'm gonna slide some ramblings about it under a little cut here...!!! i’m gonna try to keep it brief but i just know i’m gonna end up writing a ton LMAO
ok! so! manaphy has actually been shiny locked in every single game that it's been featured in. the pokemon ranger manaphy is no exception to this. :( the manaphy egg that you get from pokemon ranger is specifically programmed to NEVER hatch as a shiny in the game you receive it in. but thanks to a little programming oversight, you can actually hatch a shiny one if you trade the egg that you received in one game over to another one. then you hatch the egg in that other game and it has the potential to be shiny. that's how people do this hunt: by ensnaring themselves in the union room and trading over the eggs repeatedly until one hatches shiny.
but let me tell you. getting one legitimate manaphy egg alone requires sooo much preparation. you need a copy of pokemon ranger played to the point where you can transfer the egg over (aka post-game), and you can typically only get one single manaphy egg per save file of pokemon ranger. even if you select 'new game' in your copy of ranger, the manaphy egg would always be marked as claimed. so if you look into the process of this shiny hunt, you'll find out about a method involving four copies of ranger and 'reverse hunting', wherein people shuffle the same four eggs from these copies around various gen4 games for the whole hunt, restarting their games and playing through the whole opening sequence repeatedly in the hopes that their new trainer ids will eventually match up and result in the egg hatching as a shiny. luckily, though, people eventually found out that the 'one manaphy egg per cartridge' thing is actually kind of a misconception. if you have a way of wiping that cartridge's .sav file BEYOND selecting 'new game', you can actually get as many eggs from one cartridge as you like - and, most importantly, these eggs will not be clones of each other. since i only have one copy of pokemon ranger AND i had the means of doing the .sav wipe, i decided to take this approach to the hunt. i also got really lucky because the friend who gave me his copy of pokemon ranger (SHOUTOUT TO JM) had played to the point of having the manaphy egg on the cartridge but hadn’t sent it out yet, so i didn’t have to take on the pokemon ranger plot grind at all. this was a huge motivator for me when i decided to take on the hunt bc it was just so incredibly convenient!
at first, i started off with two systems, but at this hunt's peak i was using four (4) systems to transfer and hatch eggs. after doing that tedious back-and-forth for a good ~700 eggs (averaging at around 45 eggs per day and using up like 90% of my free time to get them - transfer speed was SLOW, to the point that i feel like doing the reverse hunting method may actually be faster), my friend cody randomly brought up the concept of rng hunting. i'd heard about rng hunting before, but it always seemed like a really convuluted process with lots of Numbers (and, y’know, Numbers Scary) - so i stayed away from it for years. but i offhandedly looked into it again and saw that a lot of people had success with it for their manaphy hunts... so i ended up looking into the process in a way more in-depth manner than before. and i'm not gonna lie... it totally gripped me. in EXTREMELY simplistic terms, rng hunters use (external) timing programs which assist them in loading into a specific seed of their game. they then advance the frames of that seed to a targeted one with a shiny, then catch that shiny. it's a process that requires a whole lot of precision - especially if you're doing it on an actual console vs on an emulator of some sort - but the more videos i watched, the more hype i was to try it for myself. not gonna lie, attempting it seemed almost fated bc the night before i had been randomly gripped by an urge to find as many of my old consoles as i could, which included my ds lite. i ended up needing to use that for the rng process, as i needed a copy of leafgreen slotted into the ds while i tried to get the right seed. the timing of that was seriously so weird. destiny fr.
anyway, there were a lot of setbacks initially - mostly because the transferred manaphy egg is received in a mart, and, in dppt, all of the marts have moving npcs which mess with your frames SO much - but after a bunch of attempts, i ended up prevailing in the end. i was pretty sure that i messed up and advanced my frames too far but i took the egg anyway, traded it over to platinum, hatched it... and there it was. a lil brave-natured shiny manaphy!
that egg was my 713th egg, and so this manaphy took 713 eggs to get home and gained another special element of being my very first successful rng-based shiny!!!
i'm really so thrilled with how it all turned out, this is definitely a shiny hunt that i won't ever forget!! i made so many crazy memories during it with friends and i feel like i know soooo much more about pokemon as a whole now. i'm super happy to have this ribbon master challenge to focus on now, too. it's what reides deserves!!! <3

I figured I'd do a little post about the shiny manaphy hunt. Yknow, tips for those looking to do the hunt before pokemon bank's eventual shut down.
Firstly, the manaphy eggs can be gotten off of ANY pokemon ranger game. Including Shadows of Almia and Guardian Signs. You need access to the dns exploit to download the special mission, but the eggs are available on those games as well as on the original ranger. This is my number one advice for people. It seems like people just don't know this, and are struggling with just finding the eggs on a copy of original ranger. It may still be a pain to find copies with unclaimed eggs, but the pool of games is significantly larger than most people know.
Secondly, 4 eggs per party is optimal. You cannot enter the union room with more than 4 eggs in your party, so unless you plan on using multiple games to hatch eggs at once (ie, 2 games hatching and 2 games resetting) there's no need to collect a huge number of eggs.
Third, afaik your save file's ID is influenced by your ds system's date & time. So try to have your 3 systems on separate dates to maximize variety in your ID numbers.
Fourth, I recommend doing this hunt on diamond and pearl, as they have the shortest time between starting and being able to trade. You will need 2 copies, obviously, but another thing to note is the eggs will NEVER be shiny on the first game they are transferred to from ranger. I redeemed them from ranger to my childhood copy of platinum, and from there sent them to diamond/pearl to begin hunting. Don't even bother hatching them on the first game they're on.
When preparing for catching pokemon to trade for the eggs, I recommend buying 1 potion and then spending the rest of your money on pokeballs. I always ended up using the potion and it saves time vs running to heal at the pokecenter partway through catching.
Speaking of catching, you have to have a full party of 6. If you only catch enough for a party of five you will not be allowed to trade all the eggs. Similar to only being allowed to have 4 eggs in the union room, essentially the game won't allow you to trade unless you have at least 2 pokemon in your party. You're forced to ALWAYS have at least 2 pokemon in your party in the union room, and if you try to do a trade that would result in you only having 1, you won't be allowed to. Always catch enough for a full party.
ALSO on the topic of catching, you DO NOT have to do the catching tutorial. After Lucas/Dawn tells you to go tell your mom about the pokedex, you can pop into the mart, buy your balls, and go catch on the route BEFORE sandgem.
Don't forget to turn text speed to fast and battle animations off after every reset. It seems obvious but it makes a difference.
The manaphy won't be shiny on the hatch screen. You have to check it's summary in your party.
You can run some steps off the eggs before trading. Trading can randomly add/subtract steps from the hatch cycle, but the eggs will ALWAYS hatch 250 steps apart. There is 1 step to the left mandatory for entering the union room and you may worry eventually those 1 steps will add up and your eggs will be so close to hatching that you can't make that 1 step without them hatching. This is, based on evidence from multiple people's experience in this hunt, very very unlikely. My eggs were at the 'sounds can be heard coming from inside' phase the entire hunt and I never had problems with them hatching before I could get into the union room. (If you're worried, you can save steps inside the union room by using the game WITHOUT the eggs to talk to the other trainer and initiate trading, as well as simply turning the game off rather than walking to the union room exit.)
The basic cycle is like this:
Game A hatches eggs while game B gets restarted and begins playing the beginning of the game. Game A will likely finish hatching right as Game B is talking to their rival outside his house.
If no shiny, Game A is soft reset without saving, to return the eggs to being un-hatched. Game B plays through to getting the pokedex, then catches 5 pokemon to give them a party of 6 counting their starter.
Both games enter the union room, eggs are traded from Game A to Game B.
Both games are soft reset. Game A is wiped and restarted, while Game B is loaded. You will be shown walking out of the union room and can immediately start hatching eggs right there in the pokecenter.
And, so on, until the shiny appears.
ALWAYS BE SURE THE EGGS ARE NOT HATCHED BEFORE ENTERING THE UNION ROOM. if you accidentally enter while the eggs are hatched, they're hatched forever and you have to find new eggs.
That's all I can think of! Happy hunting! Feel free to ask if you have questions

Man... The retro Pokemon games market is seriously bumming me out. I technically have at least one of every main series Pokemon game (albeit my copy of FireRed is currently missing), so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. But there's some older Pokemon games I really wanna replay where I don't really want to reset the game for one reason or another - such as not wanting to have to go through the pain in the ass of getting the shiny charm again in White 2, or not wanting to erase my Emerald file because it was my very first Pokemon game and it holds too much sentimental value to me.
But all these games' secondhand prices are absolutely fucking ridiculous for how well they sold. No game that has over 10 million copies floating around out there should cost over $100, period. And I know, I just know with how common these games are, there are going to be people who are clueless to these inflated prices out there selling them for a reasonable price, and that just makes the search for a decent deal on these games even more infuriating.
I know that emulation and repro carts are an option too, and if it were any other game with ridiculous secondhand prices, I'd go that route. But a crucial part of Pokemon for me is the ability to transfer my Pokemon up, to be able to preserve them in my massive collection that has been building for nearly two decades. That just isn't an option with emulation, at least not without some additional hardware and software hoops that I frankly don't feel like jumping through.
And as for repro carts, from what I've found via online research, their ability to hold onto save files and not just randomly erase everything is dodgy, and in the case of the GBA games, they're not able to transfer Pokemon up to the DS games in almost 100% of cases. I have heard that they can trade with legit GBA games and then you can use those to transfer Pokemon up, so I suppose that is an option if I get truly desperate, but that would also require me shelling out for an additional GBA, which have also been climbing in price as of late.
Man... it shouldn't have to be like this. There are so many copies out there, I just know that there are plenty of people that would let them go for what they should be going for. It's just a matter of actually being able to find that good deal.

best places to start shiny hunting imo!
sumo/usum sos chaining:
if you want to be completely prepared, it can take a bit of setup to ensure that your chain doesn't break. (harvest phantump with a leppa berry and the move bestow my Beloved)
but it's still super engaging and fun regardless! you don't Need the right setup as long as you are careful to keep swapping out the pokemon that calls for help (if it runs out of PP it can and will kill itself with struggle)
the odds get pretty decent after a chain of 30 iirc, so it's not overly time-consuming unless you get really unlucky (or you accidentally kill your target shiny bc it was so fucking bright outside you couldnt see your ds screen while you were waiting in line to get into ikea during the middle of summer)
it's also not bad getting shiny charm in these games bc there's still online compatibility, and they're still RELATIVELY recent so you can usually find a good trading partner!
legends arceus and scarlet/violet:
(putting these under the same subcategory bc i will explain how pokemon generation works in both these games where there are overworld spawns)
shinies spawn in the overworld in both these games! but they function slightly differently for each. for starters, in legends arceus they make a noise and have a little sparkle animation when you get close to them! this makes it a TON easier to spot subtle shinies, or shiny forms you do not know off the top of your head.
in arceus, when you save in front of a pokemon then restart the game, the same pokemon will always be standing in front of you. the only way to change the pokemon that spawns is by either ko-ing it OR leaving the area, going back to jubilife and returning.
even if you leave the pokemon and go to a completely different area of the map (such as back to a camp) as long as you don't go back to jubilife, the shiny will Stay There until you catch it or ko it. (certain pokemon do despawn when the day/night cycle changes too!)
so each time you visit a specific area of the map, the game generates a seed that determines when/if a shiny will spawn. but, since it's doing this for every single pokemon is on the map, there's a higher likelihood that you will randomly run into one.
meawhile, in s/v, most of the pokemon are generated based on where YOU are. while you can still save in front of a shiny and restart your game safely knowing the shiny will still be there, do NOT let that thing wander out of your sight bc if it travels outside the spawn radius around your trainer, it WILL DESPAWN AND BE GONE FOREVER.
for this reason, it's a little easier to find shinies in s/v because you can rapidly spawn/despawn pokemon as you run around! a lot of people i know who have the game randomly came across shinies during their normal playthroughs at full ods. (i even found a shiny oinkologne a whole whopping two days after the game released. i think my first shiny in sword was yamper, who i spent like around a week Desperately chaining for)
just watch out! bc there's a lot of subtle shinies and they can and will despawn if you aren't careful
sword/shield masuda method:
i dont feel like explaining masuda method after typing up that essay about sv and arceus here's bulbapedia
tl;dr: i lvoe you swsh masuda method
