Glad to have helped, and thank you. Listen I know talking politics with a loved one who maybe doesn't agree with you is awkward and some times even painful, but NO ONE can make a bigger impact on undecided and swingable voters than people they already know and trust. I'm knocking doors every weekend, which studies show is second best because they're face to face with a real human, but I only have 5 maybe 10 minutes if someone really wants to talk to me, thats nothing compared to the time people have with the people in their own lives.

So anyone who happens to read this, nows the time, ring up your parents, your grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, talk to that friendly co-worker, you have the power to change minds, to turn non-voters into voters, undecided into Democratic voters, work on the people in your life.

and particularly like to say to young people, LGBT people, who have family that know you're queer and love you but keep voting Republican, now is the time to have a hard conversion with them about what that means for you, and how it makes you feel when they vote for people who hate you. I know its hard, I'm really lucky that the first two people I ever heard express support for gay marriage were my grandparents, I know a lot of people have to carry around with them forever that * about their relationship with older relatives, nows the time to put that away forever, its better to have one hard talk with grandma now then live the rest of your life with that hanging over your memories of her.

I have a headcannon that the reader is apart of the 7 (which would make it the 8 instead) and they've just gone through a nasty break up and homelander finds them crying and he just awkwardly pats them on the back and sits next to them while they sob

Homelander being Bad at emotional communication/comfort but making an attempt anyways because he believes it's his duty as the leader of The Seven—primarily to maintain his team as an extension of himself—is so, so good.

he naturally talks like an awkward dad. I can so clearly see him hesitantly meandering in and being like, "Hey, champ. Something up?" and he doesn't really want to know, but he feels obligated to at least ask. Ideally they'll give a brief answer, he can say, "Chin up! You're a hero, after all." y'know, spout the usual party lines.

but the answer is not brief. it's detailed, there's this immense relief from them over the fact he asked at all. suddenly he has his hands full with a heavy emotional burden that he has no idea what to do with other than nod and make the occasional hum.

listening to someone crying is probably a sensory nightmare for Homelander. hearing every wet blink, every snotty sniffle, the mucus in the back of the throat while they speak, the rattle of their breath. pair that with his sheer inexperience and emotional immaturity? he's tapping his fingers on his thighs, enduring more than he is actually comforting.

but then it's over, and they're looking at him with watery eyes and a red nose and a smile. "Thank you, Homelander," they say. he's not sure why he's so offput by their gratitude. he's entitled to it, of course. he just sat here for god knows how long (less than 5 minutes) suffering alongside them. he deserves to be thanked, so why does his skin feel so itchy under his suit?

He's not ready to think about how much easier his life would have been if there had been just one person willing to be there for him when he had suffered. how different things would be if he hadn't been so alone, his mind had to invent someone who would sit in for him.

Because he's not ready, he gives a broad, toothy grin that drips insincerity and stands up. "Teamwork makes the dream work," he says flatly, and pats them a little too sharply on the back, jostling them. they look as confused by the gesture as he feels. he clears his throat.

"Right. Go get yourself cleaned up! No one likes to see a hero in the dumps," he says, and turns on his heel. He doesn't want to listen to one more second of wet, sad breathing.

"Wait!" They say, and he stops. doesn't look back, keeps his look of impatient disgust to himself. "If you ever, you know... need someone. I'm here. I can be your someone."

Tightly, he bares his teeth in that same smile, the one that doesn't quite reach his eyes, and turns back around. Offers them a cynical little thumbs up. "You bet'cha."

Finally, he gets away. He exhales roughly. He feels uncomfortably warm and prickly all over, unable to put his finger on why.

I can be your someone.

Those words rattle around in his brain for the rest of the day.

I can be your someone.

They grow from a whisper in the back of his mind to a loud and ugly distraction.

The fucking nerve of them. He doesn't need anyone. He's fucking Homelander. As if he'd ever be caught dead sobbing his "widdle feewings" out in the conference room.

Pathetic.

And yet...

The next time Homelander feels it, that bubbling rage broiling up from his gut to his throat, burning like bile, those words come back like the flashes of a nightmare resurfacing from his subconscious.

Which is precisely how Homelander winds up tracking them down and sitting next to them with a vicious flourish of his cape.

"Oh, Homelander, hey—"

He puts his finger up sharply. "Shut... up. Sit there and be..." Be my someone. "Be quiet."

The silence is tense at first. Seconds tick by like minutes, minutes go on like hours. He listens to the patter of their heart. It shot up when he snapped, but it's beginning to calm now. Their breaths are steady. His own breathing, initially sharp huffs from his nose, gradually evens out. His churning stomach settles, and bit by bit, he feels himself again.

No destruction. No thick coppery tang of blood lingering in his nose. Just slowing breaths, steady heartbeats, and someone who will be there.

Eventually, Homelander clears his throat. "Thanks," he says, voice tight. "Teamwork makes the dream work," they reply. He looks over at them with a quirked brow. They're smiling faintly, a little playful. That catches him off guard. At first he thought they were mocking him, but they just look relieved. Something unspoken has occurred, and neither of them know what to say.

Homelander looks down at his hands. The leather of his gloves squeaks when he flexes them. "Anyways—"

A touch to his back startles the words off of his tongue. He looks at them. No judgement, just quiet sympathy as they rub back. Oh, he thinks, recalling the forceful way he'd patted them. This is what that's supposed to feel like.

He looks away, and they linger like that a moment longer. His cape and suit muffle much of the feeling of their hand, but still, the contact is nice. It bridges the isolating gap that Homelander experiences in his day to day interactions. Somehow, there is more connection here than in some of his intimate experiences.

He leans back into the touch slightly, blinking.

Pathetic, he thinks as his eyes burn wetly.

Homelander stands briskly, clapping his gloved hands to his thighs. "Right. Good. Back to work," he says, unsure of what it was they had been doing in the first place. He just needs to leave.

"Okay," they say, voice full of such gentle understanding. It only makes the burn in his eyes worsen, tinged with resentment. Where was this when he needed it most? "I'll see you later."

He opens his mouth, but stops himself. He bites the inside of his cheek, and then clicks his tongue lightly. "Yeppers," he says simply, at a loss. He leaves that way, heart heavy with a mix of strange, uncomfortable feelings, and yet undeniably lighter than when he had first arrived.

He doesn't know what to think of any of it. All he knows is that it will require further examination, and further interactions with his...

Ima just ramble about Loualph for a bit, read if you want to or something (I'll probably just put them into parts cuz this is getting really long whoops)

Louie really isnt the type of person to go looking for a relationship tbh. Hes a quiet man that keeps to himself and doesn't seem to give a second thought about anything.

Alph on the other hand is a bi disaster. Hes an absolute sweetheart, pretty talkative and wants to make sure that everyones alright.

After Louie got caught a second time by the koppites, Alph was the only one to go check on him (besides Brittany giving him his daily juice) and make sure hes doing alright since it's not the best thing ever being tied up all the time.

Since Louie is the only one on the ship not doing anything (really doesn't have much of a choice), Alph would talk to him alot about anything really: the mission, electronics and just life in general. Louie didn't really engage in any conversations but slowly started having interest I'm Alphs stories, to the point he started to long for the evening when the koppites returned to the Drake just so he could listen to Alphs voice. Alph was just happy to ramble to someone every evening without feeling they're annoying them.

Nearing the end of pikmin 3s story, captain Olimar is rescued and the Hocotations travel back with the Koppites. Again Louie isnt the type to maintain any relationships but felt like he would lose something if he didn't keep in contact with Alph when he arrived back on Hocotate. So Louie works up to courage to ask Alph, he was surprised and delighted at the same time to make a friend on this mission (Alph already considered Louie as a friend at this time but glad for the reassurance that its official). Charlie was also talking to Olimar during this period about them meeting up as a group just to chill and hang out with each other. Louie isnt particularly fond of group gatherings but since theres only 5 of them and Alph was going too, he agreed.

Recently, I learned that there are 5 types of love languages and I wondered how Mitsumi and the others expressed their affection !

So the 5 types of love languages are :

1) Words of affirmation :

Compliments, appreciation, encouragement, active listening. Examples: "I love you" "You're amazing" "You're so beautiful"

2) Quality time :

Concentrated, uninterrupted time spent together. Examples: Going for a walk, having a meal together, watching a movie, being together just to talk.

3) Giving gifts :

Thoughtful gifts that show care and consideration. Examples: making a homemade gift, buying flowers, buying thoughtful gifts.

4) Acts of service :

Do something useful or kind for the other person. Examples: Cook for them, help them.

5) Physical touch :

Physical affection and closeness. Examples: Hugging, kissing, holding hands, cuddling.

Mitsumi is someone who loves to give things to the people she loves. For example :

Every time she returns home, she spends time choosing gifts that might please her family.

The flower bracelet she gave Nao-chan when she was little.

Everything she gave Sousuke: the cookies, the heart-shaped chocolate, the banh mi or even the crab.

So I think giving gift is one of the love languages Mitsumi uses most to express her affection. But it's not the only one.

Mitsumi expresses her affection by sharing quality time with the people she loves. For example :

When she organizes a pyjama party at home with the girls.

When she suggests sharing their meals during their trip to Mount Takao to make Yuzu happy.

The trip home with all her friends

The date at the zoo and the picnic date with Sousuke

For me, quality time is the second language Mitsumi uses most to express her affection.

As for Sousuke, I'd say that the 2 types of love languages he uses the most are words of affirmation and quality time. Indeed, Sousuke often gives compliments and encouragement : - compliments on Mika's clothing style and Mitsumi's nail polish - when he compliments Mitsumi when she talks about her goal - when he encourages Kanechika "Senpai you're allowed to be a little greedy".

Sousuke also expresses his affection by spending quality time with people he likes : - the talk he has with Mitsumi about his acting past - the talk he has with Mitsumi when she was vulnerable, followed by a dance - when he spends time with his little brother, who talks to him about dinosaurs - when he opens his heart to Mukai, whether to talk about his family or about Mitsumi

For Yuzu, it's clearly physical touch. She's so tactile, there can be no doubt about it ! As well as quality time with the people she cares about. Like when she joins Mako after her failed date, or the time she took to help Mako get ready for her date.

For Mako, I'd say giving gifts and quality time ! She loves to give snacks to people she cares about (even if she sometimes asks for money, it's the intention that counts isn't it? lol). But she also shows her affection by spending quality time with the people she loves, like when she goes near Yuzu's house to talk with her, or when she defends Yuzu in front of her old friends. Or at the beginning, when she asks Mitsumi if she wants to go to see a movie.

As for Mika, I'm not sure, but I think it's acts of service ! We see her helping Mitsumi choose nice clothes for her or gifts for her family. Then she also helps Sousuke go to Mitsumi when they're all at the beach !

I saw a post that put something into words SO WELL for me that I'm now going to have to ramble a bit about it myself.

ANYWAY! This is about Q!Baghera and Q!Etoiles 'adopting' Dapper without talking to Q!Bad first (This post is about the characters, I just won't put Q! infront of each name because I know I'll forget at some point. No neg to anyone)

So let's get how I feel about it out the way. I don't like it. People insisting Baghera is Dapper's mum is frustrating to me. Baghera and Dapper insisting she's his mum without acknowledging Bad isn't comfortable with it is frustrating.

Why do I think this? Because it's inconsiderate to Bad's feelings. Bad has been a single parent from the start. He never had an assigned partner like everyone else, even if they left. It has always been Bad and Dapper. He's on every single day to see his son, the first day he takes a day off isn't a proper day off (as the cc!Bad was still online, just didn't stream).

So he takes his first real break in months, he comes back, excited to see his son again just to find out he's got another parent while he was gone. No consulting him about it. Just forced to accept it.

Yes, Dapper is happy so he never truly complains, but it'd still hurt. It's been him and Dapper only from the start, yet he takes a 5 day break and suddenly someone else has claimed Dapper as their son. It'd probably feel like he's being replaced because he's been deemed not good enough.

Something I want to point out is Bad's reason for not wanting to suggest adopting Tallulah. He didn't want it to feel like he was replacing her papi, saying he'll never be back. So if you take that into account on how Bad sees things, then he's feeling like he's replaceable and been replaced. Even if Dapper doesn't think so at all, that's how it'd come across, especially with the point of he was only gone for 5 days before being 'replaced'.

Sure, every egg should feel the love of the island, but that doesn't mean becoming their parent. They can show they love an egg without deciding they're now a parent to the egg. Bad has shown this loads of times! With every gift he gets them, every time he's happy to watch them, every time he makes sure they're prepared enough to survive and listening to their wants and needs.

It'd hurt a lot to see your kid decide they need more parents. Because that suggests the lack of something their first parent isn't giving them. And pouring your heart and soul into this kid, just for them to decide that the second you're gone they need someone else as their parent.

There's multiple people who don't come on daily (Phil and Fit mainly) yet people don't insist on adopting their kids. So how come the 5 days Bad isn't on someone suddenly decides they should be Dapper's parent without consulting Bad what so ever, even if Dapper asked you'd still consult Bad!

While Baghera isn't trying to take Dapper away from Bad and has 0 bad intentions, they both still ignore Bad's feelings about the topic and insist he should be okay with it because they are and it's a 2 v 1 therefore they win.

While I love Baghera, this has annoyed me and her insistence on how Bad is in the wrong about it frustrates me. The fandom insisting she is Dapper's other parent gets frustrating as it feels like people can't just be a single parent from the start (everyone else had an assigned partner, even if they only appeared 1 day, except Bad) without needing another parent, even if they're just the fun parent!

Just my thoughts brought out because of another post, so this was a rant about it lol.

1989 tv (my version)

a year ago, i woke up in the morning with a notification that said "your pre-saved album 1989 (Taylor's Version) is available for listen now" and that really made my day. Just like every other fan i was so excited to listen the production on some of my favorite songs and obviously from the vault tracks. I still can't believe, it's been a year already. I remember i was preparing for a big goal and after a year that goal had lost in time like a ship lost in the fog. it's excruciating but writing isn't. writing is my biggest power and so this post is result of it because i wanted to share my views and ofcourse my playlist!!

If i talk about my favorite tracks off the album then I certainly doesn't wanna talk about bank space and shake it off because it only makes you feel old. they're 10 years old songs and one of the biggest hit of this century. everyone knows about them and judge her entire discography saying "all her songs sounds like shake it and off and blank space" when they barely knows her 10 songs. Plus the scenario she only writes about her exes. this is some old age shit. every other artists write about them but they don't have any problem with them as they seem "authentic" wtf. okay two of my favorite songs from this album are This Love and All You Had to Do Was Stay. Let’s start with This Love. The best part of the song that I believe in my opinion is its intro. And the part from “in silence screams, in wildest dreams, I never dreamed of this” always makes me emotional. The second song from this album that is always stuck in my head is AYHTDWS and I believe the best part of the song is also in the intro, “all I know is that you drove us off the road” and then the “stay, hey all you had to do was stay…..”. And how can I forget about the style and its intro plus the out of the woods bridge. this whole album is flawless.

If you ask me about the other songs, then I would say Clean and You are In Love. It’s not I don’t like the remaining songs, I like them but these are the ones that are stuck inside my head and I keep hearing them. I love the idea of Clean and YAIL because one is about getting over someone and moving on and another one is about falling for someone’s charm. And the best part of Taylor’s Version is that we get to re-live those eras and for those of you thinking that they are the same albums so they must sound same but no they don’t. You can clearly tell which is Taylor’s Version(TV) and which is original. And make sure you stream Taylor’s Version only because these are the albums that mother has masters of, in simple terms right over her work. I can write a whole research paper on her songwriting but I'm limiting my words here.

Moving forward, another good thing about Taylor's Version is that you get to listen never heard before songs because they didn’t made the final cut at the time of the production of original album. I don’t know why they didn’t let her release those songs. I’m happy she has signed to a label which believes in her and now mother is the CHAIRMAN. She gets to decide what she wanna release and what she doesn’t. So yeah, those unreleased songs are called “From The Vault” tracks because they are deep in the vault waiting for her to unlock. So far, she has released 26 of these tracks on different re-records of like Fearless TV, Red TV, Speak Now TV and now the 1989 TV. 1989 TV has a total of 5 “From The Vault” tracks and they are:- Is It Over Now?, Now That We Don’t Talk, Slut, Suburban Legends, Say Don’t Go. And to be honest none of these Vault tracks are so called “bad, worst, too much songs,” as the haters would describe.. They are so addictive thanks to the bridge of these songs. You just cannot compare these tracks with each other. So yeah, that week was pretty amazing, the excitement that comes from the release of new music by your favorite artist is different and also the happiness of someone getting right over their own work is just amazing. What made the release week more interesting and amazing was not just the feeling and excitement you get from thinking about the release of the 1989 tv but also that Taylor dropping the Cruel Summer [Live From The Eras Tour] version. It was all what i needed at a time when I couldn't go to the eras tour as she is neither coming to India and also you are not rich enough to buy her concert's ticket. So you don’t feel left out and can scream the cruel summer bridge all you want. I also love the feature that Taylor did to generate your own 1989 covers and i enjoyed playing the puzzle she released in collaboration with the Google. One more thing about this Album & Taylor that i love is how Taylor never let anyone look down on her. Life is not easy for me. She gives me the confidence to be who i want to be because 'Haters gonna hate hate hate, baby i'm just gonna shake shake shake!' I cannot wait for debutation 🐍💚 happy 1y of 1989 tv 🩵

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I really don't know... While I count a story a success if you're reaching for the kleenex box, people that read my stories know they can count on what I refer to as an earned ending. It's a good/happy ending with a ton of pain to get us there, but all in all I have a strong and proven habit of bringing characters back from the dead and giving the ships in my stories a solid ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, most of them are.

8. Do you get hate on your fic?

Oh sure. I'd say the most I received was in the Blacklist fandom. I got everything from asking me to change the name of my fic because it was the same song lyric the other author had chosen to being told I was an abuse condoner because I shipped a Mr and Mrs Smith styled couple. That was a truly wild fandom back in the day.

9. Do you write smut?

I don't. I'm very much a fade-to-black kind of writer.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Not really. Every great once and a while something might line up, but in general I keep things in-world.

I will say that one of my favourite fics ever was a crossover between OUAT and the Hunger Games that @toseehowthestoryends wrote.

Maybe? I feel like someone posted fics over on a site without my permission. If memory serves, they left my pen name on it though, so there are worse things.

I've had people ask if they are allowed to, but if they ever finished the project I don't know.

I keep looking at Burn the Worlds (OUAT) and thinking about picking it back up again. It was such an interesting and, dare I say unique premise that I'd love to finish it. I actually poked at it a bit the other day, so there's hope yet.

16. What’s your writing strengths?

I've always leaned into dialogue. I enjoy it, I've been told I'm pretty good at it, and when it flows it can make a scene. You can learn so much through what's said and all the little spaces between those words.

Interestingly enough, I think one of my weaknesses has become one of my strengths over the years. I used to be terrible at fight scenes, but I forced myself to write them and found that, eventually, I became better. Now I really enjoy them. They're fast pace and snappy and flow oh so nicely if everything fits into place :D

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

For the life of me I can't keep a story contained? I'm also very bad at 'killing my darlings', as they say. Unless it's either a character I hate or a super minor character, I'm not fond of killing them.

I'm looking forward to Palpatine's eventual demise in AFoL....

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I guess it depends on the situation and how much dialogue. There are characters that littler foreign phrases regularly like Remy from X-Men and his sporadic French, but I wouldn't be comfortable in trying to write blocks of French dialogue. The opportunity to screw it up is just too large and it's too difficult for the audience to read.

Saying that, I have a vague recollection of doing it for a story and adding the translations at the bottom of the chapter. Can't remember what story it was for, but in general I try not to make a habit of it unless the story demands it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Oh wow... I was going through some old stored documents the other day at my folks' place and found a collection of pages for what kiddo me was referring to as Lion King 2. Does that count?

I think Gundam Wing is probably the real answer. You know, when I knew what fanfiction was.

Hello, m'lady!

If you don't mind, here are some incoherent thoughts about some of the Bois that came to my mind after reading around in your brilliant writing. You said you wouldn't mind my incoherent thoughts, so I thought I'd share them! (I'm still working on my incoherent Bad Batch thoughts, btw)

I want to hug Jesse. Like, he's hot as hell no questions asked, but I also just want to hug him. Like, a long hug. And tell him that he's loved and that he's enough and wonderful exactly as he is.

Also, I want to cook for all the clones, but these vibes are the strongest with Wrecker, and, for some reason, Hardcase and Fives.

Also, my ideal date is going to one of those public strawberry picking fields where you can just... walk around and fill your basket with strawberries, and afterwards go home and bake strawberry cake, and I'm going to drop that in this context.

Also I find it so interesting how non-commitical Rex actually is; like, who would've guessed that a guy with such a spit-death-in-the-face attitude on the battlefield would be so scared to let someone into his heart.

Also, I low-key wanna call Cody Marshall Commander, Sir and see what happens >:3

I haven't even consumed any Delta Squad material, but solely the writing on this blog made me love them all and (idk, maybe they've met in canon XD) I think Boss and Cody would get along.

And someone should tell Fixer to go tf to sleep, I'm sensing that he doesn't do that *nearly* enough.

Someone should also tell Kix that always putting others first and neglecting his own needs is not what being a good, compassionate person is about, and that he's worth it.

I could go on and on, damn, but lemme just say that your depiction of the Bois really helped shape a more 3-dimensional and rich picture of them in my head and that is awesome :)

Why is he your favorite VA for Wesker?

Tbh the first time I heard him in game I thought he was Krauser. Like he’s just been stripped of personality in every aspect, voice, appearance, acting, etc.

He sounds like every other wannabe Batman video game character. I’ve heard the whole ‘well he sounded like a bond villain in 5’ and yes he might’ve but it was funny and memorable and now his voice just sounds so forgetful and generic.

i've been asked this question like five different times (almost as many times as i've been asked about lily gao), and i'm just. tired of the question because i'm tired of people looking at wesker in a vacuum. wesker doesn't exist in a vacuum. wesker exists in a series called resident evil.

idk if you've noticed, but RE isn't going for "funny" in the Remakes anymore. bond villain wesker worked in OG because that was the tone that the series was trying to strike to begin with. it's not trying to strike that tone anymore. so anyone who wants him to go back to being a bond villain wants him to stick out among the cast in a really bad way and feel out of place.

i've said this before, but when i first heard craig's voice come in over ada's radio, i got hit really fucking hard with HOLY SHIT THAT'S WESKER. THAT'S THE MOST WESKER THAT WESKER HAS EVER BEEN HOLY FUCK.

you thought he sounded like krauser for the same reason that i immediately knew he was wesker:

menace.

krauser always had a menace factor to him, but wesker didn't. this goes back to the whole "wesker shouldn't be funny anymore" thing. wesker is The Big Villain of the series. he should be menacing. we should feel scared of him -- or, at the very least, he should make us anxious and/or uncomfortable. he's not a morally gray "hero of someone else's story" villain. he is a menacing villain who gets off on psychologically torturing the heroes.

and that's why i always didn't like the bond villain approach to him in the first place. there was always something very sinister about wesker that got lost in translation because he sounded so fucking goofy.

it's not lost anymore.

craig carries a level of tension through his performance that makes it sound like he's always five seconds from snapping, and he does it in a very calm way, so you really have no way of knowing when he's going to pop off and raise his voice. you have no way of knowing when he's going to get violent, because he sounds like he's constantly skirting right along the edge of it.

and it's a good choice for wesker because wesker's particular brand of sinister has always had a sexual component to it, and sex and violence are very closely related psychologically. like i said, wesker gets off on chris's angst and jill's suffering. he now finally sounds like someone who would.

and on top of all of that, craig also has a very... i like to say he has a "radio voice" in his performance of wesker. it's deep and smooth-sounding and very breathy at times; if he were to be given a radio show, people would listen to it just because they'd enjoy listening to him talk. that's also fitting for wesker, because we know that wesker lived a double life for about 20 years.

i can't see dc douglas wesker charming his way into jake's mom's panties, because he's such a ridiculous human being. he always has some snide lilt to his voice. he's just barely this side of snidely whiplash. if he told me i looked beautiful, i'd be like "lol so how much money do you need to borrow?" but if craig burnatowski wesker told me i looked beautiful, i'd probably get the dokis, just because his voice is smoother and he sounds more serious overall.

the same principle applies to him betraying STARS. peter jessop did a fairly good job with wesker, but i couldn't see dc douglas or richard waugh wesker as a leader to look up to, because, again, they're both skirting the line of snidely whiplash. it'd be like "oh, there's a traitor in STARS? couldn't be the guy who sounds like a fucking cartoon villain, could it?"

like. get dc douglas and richard waugh out of your head. stop thinking about them and just look at wesker's lines of dialogue written out on paper. craig captures the character's voice better. he just does. and if you think it makes him sound "generic" then chances are you don't like wesker as a character as much as you think you do.

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

roxy's music tastes i feel is p clearly defined throughout the fic. i dont remember if you talked about her dad's and if maybe that influenced it? would also love to know ur thoughts on the rest of the cast's music tastes pre-btr

imo i feel like even tho the series is based on a musical group, theres not much music based storylines? so its rly fun to read more of the music side of things with roxy <3

RAHHHHH THANK YOU FOR ASKING... i spend a lot of time thinking about roxy's musical interest but i don't spend much about the rest of the cast aside from a few offhanded mentions here and there. this was a challenge to put together but it was so fun! <3

the main thing i want to mention before i dive into oc music taste is the presence of music surrounding my story! every chapter title, song mentioned, musical influence etc i'm trying to keep within the timeframe + past in which the story takes place. as someone who was not really aware of popular radio in 2009, this is a very fun challenge for me.

what type of music does your oc like? Like you said, her music taste is pretty clearly defined! She's into just a bit of everything, though prefers pop and rock music above all else. Since she worked at a radio station, she was lucky enough to have access to all sorts of music, and when the station went digital, the owner let her keep all of the ancient cassette tapes they used to store everything on! Through combing through these albums from across many generations, she's been able to cultivate what she's into on her own, though her biggest musical influence is definitely her dad! If he wasn't into punk/rock she wouldn't be either. do they listen to music very often? Yes! I don't show this too often in my fic, but I think she listens to music a lot because she prefers it to silence - especially when she's alone in her apartment. What she listens to depends on her mood, and she has a bunch of different mix tapes she's made/she's found to match. So one of those could be on, one of her favorite albums could be on, or she could just pull her iPod out and put that little thing on shuffle to let the machine decide... 2. Declan Somerset

what type of music does your oc like? Declan is a rock/punk/metal kinda guy but specifically the sub-genre of these types of music that culminate into local gigs at shit dive bars and basement shows. As a youngin he stumbled into a basement show with some of his friends (soon to be bandmates) and just loved the atmosphere so much he roped his friends into making their own band so they could be active participants in their community. He's the kinda guy to be like "oh, yeah, i like this band, they're super underground idk if you know them" but like... he's right. No one else in Minnesota is listening to Rainbow Sludge Baby Guts Explosion or Sexy Fishing Rod Brigade or whatever that band he saw last night was called. For him, it's not so much about the actual music, but the community surrounding it, but he would love to hit the stage and shred again if someone let him! do they listen to music very often? When Roxy was home, he would listen to whatever she had on! Her music listening habits didn't change from Minnesota to California, so whatever she put on was just background to him. Now that she's gone, he finds the house is a lot more quiet than it used to be. The only time he really finds himself listening to music is if he's at a show or if he's playing it himself. musical things this character has mentioned/is observed liking: - Nothing concrete yet! Perhaps will be expanded on in future chapters <3

3. Carlos

what type of music does your oc like? Very briefly mentioned in chapter 18 but Carlos is a big fan of Latin music, show tunes, and hip hop! I imagine growing up in a household with three generations of Hispanic individuals really helped cultivate his taste in this way. I personally do not know much about Latin music, show tunes, or hip hop music, but I imagined while they were on the plane he had Roxy listen to a lot of Selena because he though she specifically would like her music a lot. Homie was bumping El Chico Del Apartemento 512 so hard trying to get her to vibe with it while she was like half conscious and trying to not get sick lmaoo. As for hip hop, I think that was something he discovered for himself once he entered high school. Artists like Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 Cent amaze him with how they're able to get their point across and he likes to try and learn the words as a challenge (though he is not very good at it) and he also likes to make up his own dances. It's also good hockey hype music, he likes to listen to it before games. And show tunes... I truly know nothing about musicals so I cannot speak to specifics but he likes them because (in my unposted james POV chapter which will come out eventually) he used to try out for school musicals a lot. He likes the flare and the dramatics! do they listen to music very often? Also, not in the story, but I think after his and Roxy's little scene in the fourth chapter he listened to some Oasis and was like "what the fuck. no." Too jock to rock... Tragic... But his issue before BTR was that he liked music but never found anything he liked enough. do they listen to music very often? Only at work, only when he's learning a song, only when he's trying to snoop on whatever Roxy's writing. 5. Logan

what type of music does your oc like? Oh my GOD Logan is so into rap music it isn't even funny. Everything about it is just so exciting to him! The technical composition of the beat, the eloquence of the lyrics and how they're strung perfectly together, the performance of it all, the messages... It's like a big equation to him, and he loves it! He and Carlos often bond over this, because rap is a sub-genre of hip hop if I'm not mistaken. Artists like 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, DMX... We see the vision hopefully and I apologize for not being more knowledgeable in the rap/hip hop genre to provide more than common generalizations. He also really likes instrumental music! As we saw in chapter 16, he also enjoys being in a room in which Roxy is playing either the guitar or the piano! do they listen to music very often? Yes... This man is somehow able to study and listen to music at the same time, so he'll hit his playlist and hit the books. AKA he's listening to it a lot when he's alone. And as previously mentioned, he'll also seek out Roxy to play him some instrumental tracks too. It's good for him, no silence when he studies, and good for her, she gets to practice. what type of music does your oc like? Oh, James... In the same vein as Kendall, he likes whatever's on the radio, but simply because that is what's popular and he himself is popular. So pop music, for sure, is his favorite genre and it's easily accessible through the radio or his phone or whatever so he's always keeping up with the latest! In addition, however, I think he really likes R&B and soul-type music as well as a by-product of living with his mother. There's a reason he chose a Smokey Robinson song to sing at his audition and not something on popular radio, right? Part of it is because he has a really smooth voice that flows right along into the R&B/Soul type genre, but also I'd say it's mostly his mom's influence. Her son should know the "classics!" Also like previously mentioned, he's big into show tunes! It's mentioned a bit in chapter 19 hehe. He's very good at convincing Carlos to try out for school musicals with him, so they practiced a bunch together after school hockey practice <3 And of course... He likes whatever Roxy plays... And wishes she'd play for him the same way she does for Logan... do they listen to music very often? I'd say his music listening is moderate... Not as much as Roxy and Logan but far more than Kendall! In Minnesota, his mom would play her music bc she's so controlling lol... So whenever he was on the way to school/friends' houses/dates/whatever he'd pop on the radio to catch up with the latest and the greatest. what type of music does your oc like? Two words: Boy bands. It's as simple as that! I'd also say this blends into mentions of popular music, but if she has a choice she's putting Backstreet on no QUESTION. That and movie soundtracks, I'd say, but only for the cheesy supernatural romances she likes. I know she's bumping the Twilight soundtrack near daily (as she damn well should be). Also, I know she's from North Carolina but she doesn't really feel like a country girl to me... idk Being friends with Roxy and dating Kendall is like her perfect musical dream. do they listen to music very often? Yes! Like Roxy, Jo doesn't really like silence. I imagine she listens to music most when she's running lines and trying to flesh out the characters she's trying out for. Once again: listening to the Twilight soundtrack while running lines for New Town High... God I love her. I'm not going to lie to yall i've literally thought about this for hours and I just have no idea. in the show i know she was in their camp rock spoof, so maybe show tunes? but thinking about her sitting down and listening to like... Hello, Dolly! just doesn't feel like her. my best response is that she absorbs her music taste through her friends like osmosis. Jo and Roxy like boy bands? Great, now Camille does too! Logan is rocking out to Beastie Boys? Camille is excited to be a part of it. I also know that very briefly she mentions knowing how to figure skate, so maybe even like classical music? but that feels far too mellow for her... She likes Big Time Rush and that's enough for me to say she at the least enjoys pop music. What do we think gang?? do they listen to music very often? 8) common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

season 5 is good. Listen, I've heard all the arguments about how it's boring and how nothing is achieved by the end and how it spins its wheels and is just padding until season 6, and maybe it felt that way when it was first coming out, but I love season 5.

It is such a good insight into the characters we love, because it's about Romana and Narvin on one side and Leela on the other, all sticking so hard to their principles while feeling like the other side has betrayed theirs and betrayed them in turn. Romana and Narvin relying so hard on each other in this universe where it's normal and expected for upper level politicians to turn on each other constantly and challenging the norms of the society they feel stuck in, while Leela tries so hard to get back to her own roots and help the people who were so screwed over by the people she feels Romana and Narvin are now defending, all of them doing exactly what's right but having differing methods on how to do it and ending up struggling to actually do good against the real monsters of this society.

It's so good, and the way they do come together at the end is such a wonderful conclusion and lead in to series 6. Season 5 is good and I will hear no arguments against that.

12) the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

I don't know if there are any unpopular characters in Gallifrey. I'll admit that sometimes Ace feels like the writers didn't want her there given how little she actually does in the series, but everyone else loves her.

Seriously, I really wish Ace got more to do, she brings so much of that rebellious energy that exasperates everyone around her but also makes them question themselves, because even if she's definitely naive and very loud, she's got probably the strongest (or, at least, the least battered and worn down) moral compass, so if she disagrees with them, they're probably in the wrong.

I'm choosing to defend Ace in this because it feels like she was only there as a mandate to the writers, given that she spent most of Intervention Earth under mind control, most of Enemy Lines dead, and then got written out halfway through Time War 1, and she deserved better.

22) your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

the fact that Braxiatel legitimately cares about the rest of the cast. He manipulates everyone, and that's what I see most people talking about with him, he's the master chess player who sees everyone else as a piece on the board, and, like, maybe, but he does legit love these people.

He makes a joke about how many times he's rescued Narvin "by accident" but every time he does it because he's helping Romana, and he's perfectly willing to help out someone he (ostensibly) hates just for Romana's sake, and he is never anything but curteous and lovely to Leela.

Like, his loyalty to Romana is talked about, but I often see people talk about how he's only loyal to the President, ignoring the fact that he murdered an earlier President the second he gave him an order he didn't like and covered it up by acting as his own investigator. He could get away with messing these people over easily, and he would probably be better off doing so and fucking off back to his Collection to spend the rest of eternity doing his own thing.

But he doesn't. Because he cares about them, whether he admits it to his enemies or himself or not.

United in Distaste - Cast of Starry, Part of the reason I like this song is because of general respect for the actors, but also it sounds so good for a song which is just people arguing. Also, some of the rhymes give me life.

Where Are All the Scientists Now? - Jukebox The Ghost, I'll be the first to say that I have a soft spot for album climaxes, and this one definitely is one of my favorites. If someone were going to listen to it, I'd recommend listening to the song before it (Fire in the Sky) and the song after it (A Matter of Time) as well, because it's really just one big song, and Where Are All the Scientists Now? feels very incomplete without the others.

Han Mi - Paul Shapera, Psyche Chimere, I don't even know where to begin with this song, but I might as well try. You expect a villain song, but it's a protagonist song after all. It's a beautiful song, and I can't help but stop and listen whenever I hear it.

Dig A Fancy Grave - Sarah and the Safe Word, Fable Cry, The first 3 seconds sound like they're from Gravity Falls, and then I can't stop listening. The bridge didn't have to go as hard as it does, and I'll appreciate any song that advocates for eating the rich :)

Sextet Montage - Cast of Tick, Tick, Boom, It was cathartic to hear this song in Tick Tick Boom, and every time I hear it I feel the same catharsis. It's also a silly little song and I feel super happy whenever I hear it.

Dorms 4 pm: 

Denki Pov: Where's Kiri? We were supposed to meet here after class. After all, he said it was urgent.

Kiri: Hey Bro! 

Denki: You're awfully late.

Kiri: Yeah, I had a run in with Bakubro..

Denki: OH MY GOD! DID HE HURT YOU!?

Kiri: Did you forget he actually listens to me?

Denki: Oh yeah, I presume he likes you.

Denki: Anyways, what did you want that’s soo urgent?

*Kaminari walks away*

Denki Pov: Didn’t Mr. Aizawa tell us we were getting a transfer student from 1b? I wonder who it is. Hope it's not monoma, he's a jerk and he's annoying. I think Kirishima and Bakugou like each other, but Kiri has been very distant and suspicious lately I wonder if-

*Bumps into someone rushing*

???: Oh I'm so sorry for bumping into you, I'm in a rush!

Denki: Oh no i’m sorry I should have been watching where I was walking then I would have seen you-

*The guy has a dark shade of purple hair and purple eyes, he looks tired. He starts making Kamimari blush and this is when Kami realized that he was fucked up. His deep voice won him over and Kami had now had his first boy crush!*

*Kami starts blushing more as the guy puts his hand on his shoulder*

Denki: I don’t care, I still am, anyways I’m Denki Kaminari. You will find out my quirk later.

???: Ha that's ok, I’m the new transfer student so I’m trying to find my dorm. I asked an angry pomeranian dude and he said “Ask Pikachu. Dunce Face has an extra room! Now don’t bother me extra!” Who's pikachu?

???: Maybe we should take a break. It wouldn’t hurt to get something to eat, it is 5:30.

*Kirishima and Bakugo come bursting in the room*

Bakugo: *Tied up and covered mouth with tape (he has scared eyes thinking of the time he got attacked by the slime villain but he’s also mad) making tiny explosions out of his palms*

Denki: You should be happy that we tied up bakugo

Kiri: Yeah but I feel bad for him, we should of let him murder her since she has done this several times.
