What I have gathered about Star Wars based on takes about unfamiliar SW material from people who have bad takes on the stuff I am familiar with:

I should play KOTOR 2 (according to them KOTOR 2 is bad for the same "wahhh subversion of expectations" and "daring to imply the Jedi might be slightly less than perfect" reasons as TLJ was supposedly 'bad'.)

Kreia is awesome and interesting and sexy actually ("Kreia was a dumb shit idiot baby and Grey Jedi aren't a thing!!!")

Ashoka is awesome and interesting and sexy actually ("Ashoka is Dave Filoni's boring overpowered mary sue OC")

Bo Katan is awesome and interesting and sexy actually ("She's awful and iredeemable and blames everyone else for it just like Anakin!" (Which itself relies on the supposition that Anakin's redemption that is a core event of the series is somehow invalid))

(Really interesting how three of these in a row are about major female characters, despite these same people calling others mysogynists)

Jedi are accepting of non-force-sensitive people into their ranks, much like the rebuidling Air Nomads in early AtLoK ("Wahhh jedi can only be force users!!!")

Mandalorian internally-driven cultural reform is good actually ("It's cultural genocide to not be warlike and murdery anymore!") (This one was from a different group of people than the others; I'd love to put them both in the same room and watch them fight)

Again, after my like ten thousandth rewatch of s1 Peaky Blinders, I get to e6 and realize for the first time that there’s a calendar behind Campbell’s desk. I only caught this because I knew the Kimber showdown was on December 3rd from the black star diary entry, and during the shot when Moss tells Campbell that Kimber is dead, I noticed the big “3” behind his head.

So I went back to ep5 to see what date them digging up the guns and Tommy hiding at Grace’s was, because I always assumed that those days happened like right after another. But nah, the date behind Campbell when he’s telling the coppers that they dug up the guns is 21 (November) and then 22 later in the ep when Churchill calls him.

Which means a full week and a half passed between when Tommy and Grace slept together and when she told Tommy that she was leaving because she betrayed him. Does that not seem crazy to anyone else that that much time passed? Or am I just not suspending enough disbelief?

I am not trying to glorify cheating or try to excuse it....but the same people who say Tommy didn't love Lizzie as he was cheating on her with prostitutes are the same ones who say John really loved Esme despite the fact that John also does the same thing.

Atleast for Lizzie she kinda allowed it like cuz their marriage really wasn't the USUAL one but John?? Like he literally goes how he's gonna buy his PREGNANT wife a house and all as if he doesn't cheat on her like the very next episode (and what irks me the most that he literally shows off how good it was) without any visible signs of guilt.

Now, I'm not trying to excuse Tommy's behaviour and his cheating but saying John truly loved Esme despite his cheating and saying Tommy despised the very existence of Lizzie cuz he cheats...sounds like hypocrisy to me mate

in general there are a lot of "fandom opinions" about the characters that are just flat out wrong. not a matter of varying interpretation, just wrong. completely disproven by actual canon.

sometimes i get worked up about them and write really lengthy stuff, sometimes i just shrug like 'nah.' i'm not in a really verbose mood today, hence my short reply, but 'tommy just thinks of lizzie as a whore and treats her that way' is one of those fandom opinions you can just say 'nah' to, because it's completely contrary to actual canon.
