Oh ya speaking of sewing. Updates to old projects I forgot to post: new blouse & apron for the dirndl, and I added a smocked panel + some barely visible blue embroidery at the hem to Ephy’s pink dress
#sewing#dirndl#elfilin#I made the new blouse and apron like over a year ago LOL#I had originally wanted to make them out of eyelet cotton but got cotton gauze when I was buying materials because it was way cheaper#Mistake. Turns out I hate that stuff and it’s soooo bad for poofy sleeves#and I didn’t finish my edges all that great so I was scared it would disintegrate if I ever tried to wash it#so last summer I finally got some eyelet cotton and remade them#I think I never posted the finished Ephy dress because I wanted to also make a bow to go with it#haven’t done that yet though and it’s been awhile#I’m not sure how easily I’ll be able to wear the dirndl again nowadays without remaking the blouse again (for reasons)#but I did get to wear it on our honeymoon!! we went to a little German-themed touristy town and had a fancy dinner and went shopping#we also did hiking and an amusement park. and Pokémon go#and a lot of driving lol#also yes that smocking is incredibly tiny#I wasn’t sure it would even be physically possible at that size but it worked out yippee!!

I know from friends that spending hundreds of dollars on makeup is a thing that people do but I just spent $200 on 15 of the one long-discontinued lip colour that I actually like and i feel like an insane person
#it was discontinued over a decade ago#and the particular shade shows up online very very rarely#the last time I found it I paid $70 for three of them because of shipping from the US#and then one got eaten by the dog#these ones at least were located in australia so no stupid shipping#I wear so so little makeup that not only will this last me like 10 years but this will probably be the only makeup I buy this year#because I own a dozen of my one (also long-discontinued) pressed powder and I bought a new eye shadow palette last year#since I needed to put in a little bit of effort when a friend had a fancy going-out birthday#and honestly I never really use either of them because I never go out any more#all I really need is my beloved covergirl outlast lipstain in 420 sassy mauve and I am good#it's literally a texta it's the perfect lip stain for people like me who don't like the feel of makeup

I'm so stupid 😂😂
I figured out the issue with my One Drive so my Ph.D research statements are saving again. I just have two folders labeled Ph.D now.
Uhh I opened up both folders and somewhere in the chaos of having two folders named Ph.D I have two research statements for the same topic but they have different edits and titles. I can't remember which one my mentor said I should submit. I'm like staring at them trying to figure out what the hell I was thinking between April and July...and the answer is that I wasn't thinking.
After work tomorrow, I'm going to my favorite Cafe to take a closer look at them, determine which one is the true research statement, and do some final edits before I upload it 😭😭

it is now my new goal in life to convince people to play spark the electric jester. extremely underrated and niche game. like 5 people posting about it. liiterally some of the most insanely good and fun indie games I've seen in a while. it's so good. nobody seemingly knows it exists. i NEED people to know about spark the electric jester
#IT'S SO GOOD. SO GOOD#I'm losing jt#currently we've only played the first game cause my brother got it as a gift on steam and we can't buy the second and third yet#which is a big pity cause games 2 and 3 shift to 3D and they look AMAZING#but just the first game as well. beautiful pixel art. smooth as hell gameplay#it plays like sonic but it has kirby-style powerups and metroidvania style maps#the gameplay is so fun and works so well it's never too easy or too hard it's fast paced but fluid and easy to control#the power ups all have original powers that works in unique ways you can choose and learn to master#the soundtrack goes CRAZY#the story and characters are so fun#spark is SO cute and fark as well i love the character designs the cute ant inspired aliens and the robots#it homages the things that inspired it but all together creates an original and special thing in itself#and from what i can see from the 3D games they play similar to how 3D sonic games play#(while game one plays more like classic sonic)#it looks like they have big fancy bosses in an almost souls-like style#and clearly a bunch of new characters and a crazy looking new story and lore#that seems to take a more deep/serious tone that takes itself more seriously instead of just the goofiness of the first game....#GOD I'M SO EXCITED THIS GAME IS SO GOOD#🧃.txt

me offhandedly telling a friend that i’d really like to get a few of the saw dvds from cex to add to my dvd collection but being unable to due to complications with being a minor who can’t by 18s alone, to which she responded “yeah but is it really a matter of life or death??” while i sat mouth agape gawking at the audacity she had to say such a thing.

#i forget if i said but Baby Sister and i stopped off at ikea on the way back from picking her up at the bus stop on monday#and finally replaced the ruined-by-a-succession-of-cats-(in-ways-both-unsightly-and-gross) Accent Chair in the living room#with a poäng rocker (bc the shape is a little more interesting and less instantly recognizable than the regular chair) in birch (my beloved#also they make fancy tufted cushions for it now! wish they came in more colors but it's a real improvement on sad options past#and anyway it's like. now you can actually sit here in the morning and look out the window at the extremely beautiful view#and the chair actually supports you??? like i could see down the road trying to work out some kind of custom cushioning that's thicker#but the shape of the frame is so ergonomic for me that it's genuinely quite comfortable regardless. bentwood exocorset…#anyway. not a very original post but i just DO really love ikea#like yes it's a mixed bag but also honestly if you're buying particle board—#(i was going to say 'and expecting it to hold up' but. honestly i think it's just. if you're buying particle board period)#—that might be on you.#(like. if you're being pressed in from all sides by budget constraints and immediate need and no accessible better-made used alternatives—#obviously you do what you have to. but it's like buying pleather—you know‚ or should‚ that the material is going to disintegrate.)#but the things ikea makes with decent materials are remarkably well-designed and affordable for what they are‚ has been my sense?#you just gotta shop carefully but like. that's true literally everywhere.#anyway. in conclusion i love my new buddy with its clean lines. …do people name chairs ever.#i've never before had the urge but this one feels like a little assembly-line friend that deserves its own identity. like a star wars clone#(lol what if i gave it a little nametag somewhere hidden. secret identity talisman 4 chairpal.)#(& yes i promise i'm as aware of the‚ uh‚ itself-ness of this tag spiral as you are. :) )#domesticities

Trying to find something to go with these tights? I don’t have a lot of bright clothes that match them, so went more in a mixing it with lighter colors sort of direction, maybe sort of sky themed (rainbow with the blue and white clouds)?

All of the cloud print items I have are the small like 0.5%#of my wardrobe gotten from ebay in the past 10 years. I have never seen a cloud print thing out in the wild actually#OR sometimes you finally find stuff that's sky/cloud themed but it's like... a washcloth for babies. instead of a shirt. ... sad#they probably do have them and you can maybe get them at stores sometimes but. hhhh.....#Buying things new is so stinky. everything costs over $10 >:( why.. why cost mony >:(#I think once you get used to everything being like 25 cents an item to MAYBE $8 or something at a real thrift store#going to online or in person stores and seeing stuff like a cloud dress but it's $65 is like.......... I could never. I could never fathom#I mean. I WOULD pay $65 for a dress if it was literally like. Exactly every specific thing I love all in one and I know I would never find#it again in my entire life and could not make it myself and etc. etc. Like a pastel blue and white historical style dress with#puffy sleeves that goes down to the ankles and has a high ruffled collar and also has a pattern with cats and clouds and stars on it and the#sleeves and striped and there's lace and bows and things dangling from the cuffs and part of it is irridescent and there are long buttons or#lacing or some other elaborate details and tassles somewhere also and it's layered and 3 sizes too big for me so it's not tight#or etc. etc. I would pay maybe $80 for that. Perhaps $100 if it came with accessoriy bits (like a ruffled fancy apron or shawl or hisorical#bonnet or matching gloves that also had cats on them etc. ) - but otherwise. No.#ANYWAY. for someone who loves clouds SO much. having a crisis in a clothing store because there's so many clothes here. so many clothes, everywhere i look. filled to the brim with clothes. and there are more stores next to this one. why do we need so many clothes? how many of them are going to get thrown away after having been worn once? how many are going to get thrown away because nobody bought them??
