swapinverse posting again tell me why crash is like. a rebound for error after he totally fucked things up for swap in askerror. why am i writing these guys in vice.ser's lore to have error compare crash to swap ALL THE TIME and say he's lowkeyBETTER than the dumb berry,,,,, bro,,,,,, swap come get your mans the error version of cross is STEALING HIM. oh shit wait you're in the omega timeline living your best life while your ex friend is sulking over his guilt my bad king keep grinding ‼️
even in another multiverse cross remains the most perfect shippable man im afraid. i already got lowkey crink in this what's next crerror??? i havent made the muse twins meet crash yet but if they did it would be cream and crossmare (but better because melpomene's not a total cunt compared to nightmare)
#eye to eye was added to spotify my mtt xxtha song playlist is COMPLETE and you KNOW ive been listening non stop#next year's spotify wrapped is gonna have those 3 songs at the top TRUST idc if xxtha's not vocaloid we will be dethroning pepoyo for top#im grinding swapinverse through an amazing self reward system that involves eating sweet delicious soft amazing poundcake#this is what happens after you rewatch askerror people. you get filled with a great sense of error love#i have no idea if i'm writing error correctly this is just what im doing after watching askerror#and reading like. 5 different character analysises on tumblr after searching up error sans character analysis#error's so real though listen if i had to choose between error and horror as my realest most relateable characters it would be him#oh yeah i finished vice.ser's digital art 2!!!! yes!!!! now just need to write ref sheets 4 those that are not the mst.....#i dont think vice.ser is savable guys he's too far gone unfortunately#nobody can save him i fear.... his body his mind his self is too fucked up#unlike the mtt vice.ser can never get a happy ending sadly#because like. bros LITERAL ONLY PURPOSE now is to destroy the multiverse#and it's not like he could be convinced not to because he'll just reboot at any sort of major inconvenience to keep himself focused#and because his body is so abstracted and scattered that there's nothing he can do to stop the rebots but thats another thing#golly who knew that being an error and falling into the void would be TERRIBLE...... surely not me........#vice.ser's hivemind soul connecty dream thing for all the undertale continuation aus totally isnt inspired by hi3's part 1 finale noooo wha#dude steals classic varients. controls them to have access to soul. puts them in dream/reliving memory state depending on whats needed#bodies are now empty and funky so he's got a little army while also having the perfect performance stage#see creators! he has all these different aus that you like so much! he can make them play out any story you want!#can you just end it all now and stop creating and destroy everything since clearly manually destroying doesn't work??? PLEASE?????#this is his only purpose now bro can't even kill himself like error can because he's TOO DAMN MESSED UP!!!!!#what a tragic tragic soul. i love him he's so pathetic. grovel at my feet more creation. perhaps i'll cease my creating if you please me#listen if vice.ser just acted out every story i wanted to see of the mtt i would gladly stop creating#but unfortunately he's not real and the muse twins would just stop him anyways#have idea of twins going into the hivemind and having to break sanses out of the memories/dreams while trying not 2 get caught by vice.ser#how do siphon and crash fit into this??? idk crash goes up to vice.ser and is like dont do this pookie.....#and then they all live happily ever after in a poly. errorcrink real#tricule rant

"if i'm having fun it's good and if i'm not having fun it's bad" you're so so so real for this!! anyway sorry i disappeared for like a week so i'm going to ask more questions to make up for it: 1) i know i'm late to the spotify wrapped party but who were your favorite artists this year? are there any songs in particular that stood out to you? this can be either for disney artists or not it's up to you 2) how are you feeling about rise of red coming out next year? i know the plot looks too crazy even for descendants standards, and it helps that it's a brand new creative team, but is there anything specific you're hoping to see from the expanded world? 3) i need to hear your thoughts on zombies 4 because i know there's no way addison will have yet another identity crisis - gcwca secret santa
hi !!!! i hope u had a good week when you disappeared and not like, a terrible one!
to answer your questions, my fave artists were mostly non disney channel :( i think the only disney channel who made it into my top 100 was some sabrina songs :( but! my top five were:
noah kahan (so real)
fall out boy (they counted november this year which i know bc they would NOT have been in my top 5 otherwise. they were my nano soundtrack. tho tbh i think this nano project made me an actual for real fall out boy fan)
taylor swift
dessa
xana
if we could add some i feel like chappell roan should've been in my top five but alas :( also i saw two out of my top five in concert this year :) if we count tickets i bought for next year's concerts i am seeing 4/5 of my top five!! (i also saw chappell roan and she was SOOOOOO good in person). this year turned me into a genuine Concert Girlie (gender neutral) so that's been fun. or it would be, if i didn't have to drive 2 1/2 hours at best to get to one bc i live in the middle of fucking nowhere and no one comes here :(
as for the rise of red: honestly, i'm pretty excited! i'm not allowing myself to feel Bad about it until we get more information. plus, it's giving me the thing i always wanted out of the descendants franchise (qoh kid) so honestly this like, really works for me. like maybe when i watch it later it will be bad? and i'll be upset and disappointed? but. in the meantime, i'm having a great time! still living on the qoh kid high! like, the plot seems wild but personally i'm like. "descendants as a franchise never made sense and i'm getting what i personally wanted out of this franchise from it so i'm having a good time until proven otherwise"
i think a lot of people have strong feelings about it bc of cam, which is totally valid and is their right, but my personal feelings are since the core four aren't coming back, i'm okay with it. disney was never going to let their biggest franchise since hsm lie, yknow? i think this is the best it could've been in that sense of it? idk.
as for zombies 4. truly i have NO idea. honestly the most fun i have ever had with the zombies franchise was watching all three of them with two of my friends whilst we were all stoned, and personally i hope rupaul comes back because i thought it was funny. i'm so sorry if you're a zombies stan but they are not high art to me. they are fun little movies to watch while i get high and then i do not think about them until i want to show someone a silly little dcom franchise and jumpscare them with the presence of rupaul. personally i hope zombies 4 introduces addison's cousin from the human side of the family named allison who is now the one who gets to have identity criseses who is also played by meg donnelly. i hope coach has a new job. i hope his legal name is coach. i hope ej caswell finally gets to leave this discord. i hope they make a reference to the winchesters.

Top 10 songs of 2023, reviewed by yours truly
As per tradition when Spotify Wrapped comes out I write short reviews of the best songs of the year so here we go:
10. One More Time by blink-182
The biggest reveal from the world of pop punk last year was that blink-182 is back... again. First I was a little sceptical especially after hearing Edging but this song, and its video made me listen. The lyrics are about the long lost friendship between Travis, Mark and Tom, and to be completely honest I shed a couple teardrops the first few times I gave it a listen. Amazing song from an amazing record.
9. Homicide by Magnolia Park
I'm completely new to this band, I found this song randomly in an Instagram reel that caught my attention. It's super catchy, almost Linkin Park-ish vibes that is a little "Octanecore" little pop punk, but nevertheless an absolute banger.
8. Jaded by Spiritbox
Spiritbox is the new shit in the scene, everyone and their mom knows about it. But just a little less than a month ago they put out an EP consisting of 6 melodic and heavy bangers called The Fear of Fear. This song stands out from the EP because of the insanely catchy chorus, the breakdown with the clean guitar melody and just the overall feeling of the song. Courtney has always been open about her influences (even and especially the pop ones) and this song is a great example to it.
7. Lost by Linkin Park
On the 20th anniversary of Meteora, Linkin Park released a bunch of unreleased material from the recording session of the legendary album and this was the first single off of it. What more can I say about it? If you haven't heard it despite liking Linkin Park then shame of you.
6. Without A Whisper by Invent, Animate
Another surprise as I've never been a big fan of the band. Not being so into the Deftones-y spacey vibes before, this band always has been a hit or miss. Until Heavener. It's blended so seemlessly that first I didn't even notice that there's now screaming instead of singing with a bunch of reverb. I still almost never skip this song despite Heavener being released earlier this year.
5. Fake Out by Fall Out Boy
This one is probably the only song on the list that is not a single, not even the top 3 from their album So Much (for) Stardust. The boys are officially back and this song proves it, The falsetto hook in the chorus got stuck in my head after the first few listens. I'm really really glad they are back to playing instrumental music because that's what they do best.
4. Might Love Myself by Beartooth
For me this year was about healing. Healing from a past breakup, losing my previous job, and just in general the depressing reality of adulthood. After hearing the first singles from the latest Beartooth album it was obvious that Caleb, the singer for the band had been through a similar journey prior to writing this record. This song stands out for me because of the overwhelmingly positive self-loving lyrics that are a must-listen when you have been through a lot of shit. I also like the little "whoo" before the second chorus, it really makes it sound like Caleb had a lot of fun recording it.
3. Haunted by Spanish Love Songs
The most underrated band on the list by a landmile. Also probably the most depressing band I've ever listened to, which says something. The whole new record No Joy has some really interesting musical changes from the previous ones, there's less screaming, less distorted guitars, it has more of a The Killers vibe than something off tumblr's 2015 pop punk hardcore best of (looking at you The Story So Far). Haunted is a bittersweet tune about being nostalgically sad about the old days, and for an old fart that is closer to 30 than to 20 it's a comforting thing that I'm not alone with this feeling.
2. LosT by Bring Me The Horizon
What do you get when you mix 'I'm not Okay' and current era Bring Me The Horizon? That's right, this fucking banger. I think throughout the year this song was the only one that I've never skipped. The pop punk-emo feeling is in every note, the breakdown is easily my most favorite of the year, the callout for it is even. "I think i'm gonna break down". Fucking genius by the most dynamic songwriting duo of the music scene, Oli and Jordan. The powerpop elements are also fun to listen to, it just blends really well. 10/10 banger, looking forward to the EP.
Ascensionism/Take Me Back To Eden by Sleep Token
The biggest band of the year was 100% Sleep Token. My Spotify was POSSESSED by their music this year, so obviously it was a tough choice to pick a song from their latest album so I cheated a little with the longest, most progressive songs of the record. Their music feels like a religious experience for me and the best example to this is Ascensionism, the "YOU MAKE ME WISH I COULD DISAPPEAR" line hits, the rap part fits perfectly, the guitars are heavy as balls, the piano intro is the perfect introduction, it's a 12/10 song, it's that good
And honestly I have the same feelings about Take Me Back to Eden. The titular song and its callbacks to Chokehold made me feel like I'm in a chokehold myself. The epitome of great songwriting was when from the nature sounds through rapping we got to the heaviest, low tuned breakdown of the last couple years
So there you have it, my personal top 10+1 list. If you read my review this far, thank you.

ok about your concert post: go to concerts where you know maybe 4 songs by that artist. genuinely. in the past two years ive been to 7 concerts where i recognized less than 5 songs and knew the lyrics to less than 2. and it was still so magical. at the arctic monkeys concert i saw over the summer, there was a person next to me who saw me biting my hands when alex turner walked out (general excitement stim) and smiled so so wide and told me "i cant believe it either!" and they cried through most of the concert and hugged me when i was crying too because even though i had never heard Body Paint before it was the best song ive ever seen live to this day.
plus, every artist ive seen where i knew nothing going in ended up in my top 50 artists on my spotify wrapped by the end of the year so.
(cheap tickets for a band youve never heard of > you know every song and it is $300)
(also go see arctic monkeys live they are FANTASTIC in concert.)
FURIOUSLY SCRIBBLES NOTES … yeah my friend went to see artic monkeys last year and he still has his merch that he wears everyday . alas my post was about i don’t know how but they found me playing in a small place in philly and i only know one of their songs :pensive: . i also don’t know any of my friends who listen to them

no one tagged me i simply enjoy talking about myself in the absence of actually writing
5 Songs
(opens spotify wrapped)
Slow Bloom - The Home Team
Dancing Demons - Space Weather
Gunners in the Rain - Mili
萬千花蕊慈母悲哀 - 珂拉琪
The Mad Stone - Everything Everything
Questions
1. Three ships you like:
about to self-report on my taste so hard rn
Idira Tlass / Jae Heydari (Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader) - OKAY LOOK. I know people are here because I write that Yrliet fic but listen up. At first I thought of them as perfect besties, which is ALSO a great flavour, but then I began rotating Idira in my mind on full blast like a 900W microwave and I went CRAZY. Like, just, okay, let me try to summarize my thoughts... so Idira, she's brash, she's loud-mouthed, she's talented as FUCK and despite being an unsanctioned psyker has beaten all the millions of odds stacked against her, but pretty soon after meeting her, you can brush past her tough facade and realise she's just aching for someone she can Be Real with. You go deeper and you realise she was raised to be a weapon for warlords to use but then one day a knight in shining armour named Theodora von Valancius busted her out, swept her off her feet and spirited her away into the stars. She wants that back, in the end: someone she can lean on, hug her when shit is rough, stay with her until the inevitability of her gruelling end at the hands of the warp. AND THEN ENTER JAE HEYDARI, a supposed 'princess' of a faraway kingdom who seemingly wants a handsome (and very rich) prince to save her, but pretty quickly you can see past the act and know that Jae is a total freebird who knows that the only person she can count on is herself. But even so, she's fiercely loyal and would happily march into a cold death if that meant saving those she cared for (as many unfortunately found out because of Jae's Act 4 quest bugging). So it's Idira, the 'witch-diviner of fates' with seemingly unbreakable will, a valiant 'dark knight'-type figure holding back horrors unseen all while quietly yearning to be saved, + Jae, the 'runaway princess of Efreet' with unyielding charm and luxurious airs, a beautiful 'blooming rose waiting to be plucked'-type of girl that under the surface is chasing after her destiny all on her own two feet, because who the hell needs a Prince Charming when your name is Jae fucking Heydari? LISTEN. LISTEN OKAY THE ROLE REVERSAL. THE UNEXPECTED INTERTWINING OF THEIR FATES IN OPPOSITE SIDES OF A DANCE. GUYS DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYI
Trahearne / Pact Commander (Guild Wars 2) - Most people haven't played GW2 at all. But a lot of people have played FFXIV. So imagine a Haurchefant-type figure that, if you choose to start as a Sylvari, has been with you having your back the whole tile, sets up the whole We Gonna Save The World organization and trusts in you to be one of his top commanders, takes the lead but in truth is always looking upon you to be his sunlight and shining spear, you are the only one that sees through the brave face he has put up this whole time for the sake of fighting the good fight, you are the one he trusts with who he is, and then the first expansion of the game comes out and he FUCKIGNGEWOI HOGESWHIIO EGIJJiaewhioewh JHAHAhsahifEGHIWHW EIEWGi NOOoOoOO anyway you should play critically acclaimed MMO Guild Wars 2 it's got a free trial all the way up to the first expansion Heart of Thorns, is a 'buy once play forever' type of MMO so you don't have to pay a sub, and is constantly updating with new story PLEASE PLAY IT WITH ME PLEASE
Zheng Chenggong / Zhou Yu (Fate/Samurai Remnant) - Yes, that Ming loyalist guy who exorcised the Dutch from Taiwan + that Romance of the Three Kingdoms twink who dabbed on Cao Cao. I have no excuse for this one. They got that twin souls separated over 1300 years shit with a heavy heaping of 'time is a flat circle and nothing we ever do will matter in the end' on top of it. Zheng Chenggong is also, uh... it gets worse the more I talk about it so I'll just stop here. If you know you know.
2. First ship ever: ...probably N Harmonia / the Pokemon B/W player character. What was it? FerrisWheelShipping??????? I was like 12 years old okay you gotta leave me alone
3. Last song you heard: Persephone in the Garden - Aidoneus. I've had it on loop while writing. It, uh... it's a mood.
4. Favorite Childhood Book: My dad made me read The Little Prince when I was a kid and I regarded it with the blind childlike wonder an idiot 7 year old would, without understanding all the underlying whispers of tragedy. I reread it along with footnotes detailing the author's shit life and the backdrop of the Vichy Regime and I was like. What the fuck father why did you give this to me
5. Currently Reading: The Sea of Fertility tetralogy. Again. Yukio Mishima's ghost constantly possesses me and forces me to reread his 800 page long suicide note
6. Currently Watching: DUNGEON MESHI! OooOooH DUNGEON MESHI (narrator voice)
7. Currently Craving: Sleep. Good fucking night
simply do this if you wish, tag games are simply a tumblr dot com psy-op to make you anxious about bothering people

The Top2000 voting week has started so that means it's time for my yearly call to vote for Oya Lélé by K3 in the Top2000, Spotify might ignore K3 in their wrapped lists but that doesn't mean the Top2000 should too!
Because I hope people will spread this around (and I decided to blaze it), some further clarification below the cut:
Questions I can imagine people are asking:
What is the Top2000?
The Top2000 is a list of the 2000 best songs ever according to the Dutch public/listeners of NPO radio 2/anyone who wants to vote. It has been going since this millennium and is always broadcast from Christmas to New Year's Eve, with the top song being played just before midnight. (The top song has been Bohemian Rhapsody in 18 of the 23 editions). See Wikipedia for more information
What is K3?
K3 is a Belgian(/part Dutch since 2009) girl band aimed at children, they have some very good songs in my opinion, but they have never been in the Top2000 which I think is a crime, because some songs are definitely better or at least as good than some songs that have made the list (looking at Normaal and the Pokemon theme song). Also I'm pretty sure most Dutch (and Flemish) people will be able to sing along to at least 1 K3 song.
Why Oya Lélé?
Because we need to all vote for one song to make a chance, and I think Oya Lélé might be the most `K3' song of all. Other songs I considered are Alle Kleuren and Heyah Mama, but in the end I think Oya Lélé makes a bigger chance. It's also the K3 song that stayed in the Dutch top 40 the longest. (Though the Alle Kleuren album was a bigger success tbh) In the end it's mainly because I can only campaign for one song, and Oya Lélé just screams K3 to me. (And newer 'very much K3' songs like 10000 luchtballonnen and Mamasé make less chance because people have less nostalgia for them.
What is this thing about Spotify?
For 2 years in a row now Spotify has not shown any K3 song in my wrapped playlist, even though I requested my data last year and K3 was by far my most popular artist. I am not the only person this happened to (see this tweet for example) even this year after I contacted customer service about it last year (it was a whole project). They did not seem to understand my problem, so I will have to do it again once I got my data from this year.
Okay so how do I vote?
You can vote here! It's all in Dutch obviously but you do not have to be Dutch in order to vote and I think it's all pretty clear. You must vote for 5 songs minimum and 35 maximum. Oya Lélé is not a preset option in the list, but you can manually add it after you searched for it. Fill in K3 in the first field and Oya Lélé in the second field. If you need further inspiration for what to vote for Heyah Mama is somehow a preset option, and you can just browse the list.

Few days ago @ikonofilizm tagged me to do the "put music player on shuffle and list 10 first songs" thing Thank You my dear I loooooove doing this shit 😁😁😁 let's get to it
1. Lucky to get him by Aly and AJ - revisited this album recently, it's really nice and chill, I like the direction they're going in now as adults. I was never really into Americana, but maybe theyve kinda changed that with this release.
2. Another life by Jadu Heart - god, this was the first song I've ever heard of them, such a throwback!!! I remember walking thru the city at night time, walking back from a party I think? Alcohol leaving my body and I just stared at the starry sky. An unbelievably beautiful track. Since then the duo became one of my favorite bands atm.... Please give them a chance, especially their last EP.
3. Liquid air by Temples - one of my favorite tracks from their new album. Talked about them more than a healthy amount of times recently; really good neopsychedelia if you're into that stuff, a 10/10 album for hot summer days.
4. DYNA by PEEL - some more neopsychedelia! It's been a while since I listened to it, but I used to have it on repeat so much.
5. HAUNTED by Isabel LaRosa - ugh, i remember when it came out and I discovered it in like one of those spotify playlists. It had like a thousand plays maybe!!! And I loved it so much, I added it to my midground playlist and had it really high up on my wrapped for that year, and then I checked back a few months ago and it became like a tiktok sound or something with like a billion plays :((((( I guess good for her but mannn my pretentious soul was hurting LOL
6. Assumptions by Sam Gellaitry - some house...ish dance track, i guess. It's fun and I like that vibe of sort of city pop it has going on, but the fucking high pitched sound at the start is the WORST. So fucking annoying. Every time it comes on, even though I actually like the song, the noise just pisses me off and I cant help but skip it!!!! Who thought it was a good idea to START with what sounds like fucking tinnitus.
7. Upside down by Sacha Rudy - ohhhh throwback... I used to love every single track this guy would put out since like 2019. And then he released that EP last year and other than "upside down" I really just couldn't get into it. Felt like a mess. And now he's disappeared since! Can't help but hope he'll come back with something as good as "be a man", because that was my most listened to track that year. So good.
8. Lamb's wool by Foster the People - HEY that's my song!!!!! Oh no wonder it's coming up on shuffle when I've listened to it so much again this past few weeks. This time it's the original and not the Poolside version. One of my all time favorites, like, ever, and if you can only listen to one of the songs I've listed, please make it this one. Who DOESN'T love tracks about how terrifying death is??? I'll hold you so you're not alone 🤓
9. Blessed by August Charles - people who listened to my dinner party/cafe playlist probably heard this one. Ugh it makes me so melancholic. Really good tho. No wonder it's his most listened to track.... I should probably check out his other works bc I really like his voice.
10. Theme of Re:Served by Re:Served - instrumental track with So Few listens that it doesn't even have the count visible on spotify! I remember being obsessed with them back in 2016, when the way I would discover new music was by downloading random japanese experimental albums from my favorite site. This is honestly just like runway music. I love runway music with good bpm. This one is good. You should listen to it and become their third monthly listener with me.
Thank youuuuuuuuu for tagging me!!!!!! Sorry its so long tho!!!! I love talking about songs I love!!!!! Tagging back: @moldavite , @slavicafire (i know u never do these but hope dies last!), @ferdydurke , @jurajurica , @kotikonnut , @skrzynka , @nocylipcowa , and everyone else who listened to at least one of the songs 😁😁😁 let's have a lovely Sunday afternoon everyone mwah

YEAR END ASKS
🎉3,5,8
🍾1,2
🎆6,7
🎉 Best of Year In...
3. One movie
Little Mermaid Live Action. I go into it in a later question, but my goodness, what a movie.
5. One TV show.
I don’t think I’ve watched many TV shows this year. Probably Fall of the House of Usher. The psychological horror shook me to my core.
8. One song.
Oh man there were so many that were absolute brain rot. I’m going to have to go with "Jericho" by Iniko.
Their lyrics and breath control treating their voice as an instrument and staying true to themselves is powerful.
Plus lyrics like these:
I don't swim or sink, I just float I don't need gravity, I just need growth When I move, it's an earthquake rumble I will never, ever fall, never stumble And I don't need to be humble Break down walls like Jericho, crumble
Talent.
🍾 1. What's something you just watched/read/played/listened to for the first time this year that you loved?
The Little Mermaid live action. My gosh, the music, visuals, acting, 12/10 no notes. I recall watching the ending and coming out of the theater with tears in my eyes.
Halle owned that role and the rest of the cast and chemistry was top notch.
Chills. Big fan of the movie. I want to watch it again now.
🍾 2. What's something you RE-watched/read/played/listened to this year that you loved?
Someone might come for me for being so late on this, but Beyonce's Renaissance album.
I know, I know, the album came out in July 2022. I’m late to just about everything. Story of my life. It’s fine, we’re fine.
With this album I got into learning more about the music being more than: Oh, this sounds nice!
There are deeper meanings behind the lyrics than what one would initially think. Cultural and personal references that are integrated beautifully.
It reawakened my love for her music and appreciate her ever evolving sound and work ethic to still be the icon she is for all these years in the industry.
Re-listened to the album so much, 4 of her songs were in my Top 5 Spotify Wrapped.
🎆 6. What project most surprised you this year?
Can we call fandom things a project? Yes, I think we can!
Specifically that I even moved from just reading to attempting to write, too. In general, this has surprised me with how supportive the environment can be, provided you find the kind people in the fandom space and have your own little bubble with them.
It’s so inspiring seeing how creative, weird and (affectionately) stupid silly people can let themselves be.
When you allow yourself to break from the day to day normalcy and push your own boundaries of weird, it makes the experience that much more fun.
🎆 7. What project did you work the hardest on this year?
Hmmm I’m going to pick a fic and say this one. Mainly because it’s taken me the longest time of 3 months for a fic that’s turning out to be less than 10k words. Absurd.
To be fair, the latter half of the year has been a hell of a time, busy with life and *checks notes* 10 (?!) other fics along the while, but still!
Thanks for all the rad questions!

5, 12, 15, and 27 for AO3 wrapped!
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
Any feedback is always appreciated and a bit of a surprise, but Altocumulus Castellanus is apparently my second most commented fic this year (highest individual comment threads) which I didn't really have any idea in mind when checking but I don't think it would have been that one.
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
Too many. I'm really tempted to add a follow up to Altocummulus Castellanus in there
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?
Answered here! It's Gone in a Flash unless by some miracle I can finish it in the next fortnight
27. What do you listen to while writing?
It varies, shorter fics I often don't, or I might just shuffle some music, longer fics I may make a playlist which are either iPod scrolling or often pick four songs on spotify then go through the recommended list. Some of the songs are picked for characters, some for relationships between characters, some just because they seem to fit the vibe, some just because I'm in the mood to listen to that song.
Which is how the Gone in a Flash playlist has ended up with songs like these:
Behind Blue Eyes (The Who) (a standard Eobard song on multiple playlists), Shout Out to my Ex (Little Mix) (Hartley's song)
In The End (Linkin Park) (Barry & Eobard)
H.S. (Tom Cardy) (Was stuck in my head but also works as a Linda to Iris song)
Two Princes (Spin Doctors) (an Iris/the general vibe song left over from when this fic was going to end as a Barriscowest fic rather than the gen it has become, though that might be a gen with a potential not to be ending, and the beginning does still have a couple of lines that were the start of building to the Barriscowest)
Rockin' All Over The World (Status Quo) (it's just a good song)
Writing playlists I don't have as just to listen to while writing though- I sometimes put them on to play in the car while driving home to help get me in the modd to write that fic by the time I get there.
Thank you!

i just spent an embarrassing amount of time sorting all my spotify wrapped top songs from the last 5 years (which is how long i've been using it regularly) in order to see which songs and artists come up the most so, uh, i'm gonna go thru the data cos i'm a nerd lol
(this is all very self indulgent and only really exists so me from the future can come back and find it lol... but hey feel free to read if ur interested in my listening habits lol)
so what's interesting is that i've never had the same artist as my top artist of the year!
2018 -> BTS
2019 -> Banks
2020 -> Dreamcatcher
2021 -> EXO
2022 -> Girls' Generation
2023 -> Fall Out Boy
but despite that, both EXO and Banks have been in my top 5 for 5 times out of the 6 wrapped years!
even more interesting is that Banks is my 5th top artist this year despite the fact only one of her songs shows up in my top lists (i think i'm just always listening to her albums lol)
whiccchhh brings me onto the songs themselves
so no song shows up as top of my year every year, and there is also no song that appears in all 6 wrapped playlists BUT there is a song that shows up in 5 of the 6 and that is...
(drum roll lol)
Judas by Banks! not surprising cos it's such an amazing track but i kinda didn't realise just how much i listen to it lol! it's never been in my top 5 but it's always somewhere in the playlists lol
songs that show up 4 times out of 6 are:
Be by Hozier, Peppermint Chocolate by K.Will and Mamamoo, Vibrato by Stellar and Kingdom Come by Red Velvet!
songs that show up 3 times:
Lol by Taeyeon, Apple by Ga In, Snap out of it by the Arctic Monkeys, Bad Boy by Red Velvet & Tempo by EXO!
only other repeated song i'll mention is I Don't Care by Fall Out Boy which showed up in 2018 and then not again until this year lol
this year is a bit of an anomaly, because usually none of my top artists have more than 10 songs in the playlist (exceptions are usually if I had a particular album on repeat) BUT this year both my top artists (fob and hozier) have 18 and 20 songs in my top songs playlist respectively lol
(which is why when i've been rebloging those 'what is your 10th top song' posts it's mainly been fob and hozier tracks pfft.... rule of averages wins again lol)
& because of this most of the songs on my 2023 top songs list are ones that came out this year lol
some fun exceptions are:
How do you sleep by John Lennon, Why don't you do right by Lil Green, She's always a woman by Billy Joel, Can't rely on you by Paloma Faith and Irony by Wonder Girls lol!
honestly kinda shocked that hardly any of the mcr/green day stuff i was listening to earlier in the year has showed up (there are a couple mcr tracks, but i listened to american idiot SO much but not a single track is on my playlist rip.... guess i'm the (non)american idiot after all lol)
also kinda sad that spotify doesn't do a top albums things, though it is kinda obvious w/ my list pfft (top albums were So Much (For) Stardust, Unreal Unearth and The Age of Pleasure!)
& what i've discovered from looking at all this data is that i kinda like that every year is slightly different, with a different top artist and usually different albums that i play constantly throughout the year!
Last year it was Dance Fever, The Gods We Can Touch and 28 Reasons, few years ago it was III and 1719 lol! i just love having an album define so much of how i feel about a year :')
can't wait to see what albums define my next 5 years of life tbh!
anyway i think that's about all the data i can really pull from this lol!

Its spotify wrapped time!!!
Gonna put thus under a readmore bc words long
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The overall numbers are p typical for me—indie then alternative metal. Indie just makes it onto my playlists more often, and im a big playlist guy. And high 60ks is about my normal time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found msi at the beginning of this year and listened to them a BUNCH, and i found a few good idkhbtfm songs which made it onto most of the playlists ive been rotating this year (theyre all for wips so… the ones for checkmate, any motions, and blood stained dirt i believe? Very good songs)
The other three are consistent favorites—second year in a row i got the hollywood undead thank you message! (I was in top .5 for msi and was tge same for cavetown last year
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think some of this is just when i used cds or youtube instead of spotify. But you can kinda see when i was listening to what playlist—i was listeninf to msi/msi mixes at least up until march, feb mightve been when i started checkmate and/or any motions—that seems right.
I think the spikes in cavetowj were from when i had the scars playlist playing—i did start that one back up around summer
I also just think i was listening to more musicat the start of the year
I got a bunch of artist messages this year too—all my top except msi, linkin park, imagine dragons, mccafferty, covey, and weathers. Mostly good playlist artists. Gonna have to go through and listen to all of them since i dont have my headphones rn :]

Spotify Wrapped 2023
So I'm here to talk about my hella basic year in music lol. If you're new here I got 2 Spotifys, which means I compare them every year to see which one I think is more accurate.
Basically I got my daily driver,  what I use most often and what’s signed in on my phone and then the Spotify I use for/while I’m working on projects on Akwardly Uncool. Anyway the LEFT side is the Daily Driver and the RIGHT is AkwardlyUncool.
So I'mma Start By Proudly Waving My Basic Card:
I might be wrong, but I feel like everybody who was even slightly in the Pop-Punk, Midwest Emo, Post Emo space had Hot Mulligan in their top 5, either artists or songs for 2023. It was just bound to happen and I ain't mad at it, cause have you listened to them?! Just had to acknowledge that real quick lol.
Minutes and Hours and Just Time:
15,850 minutes. About 264 hours. 11 Days.
Not gonna lie, based on some personal calculations, this was a shorter year for consuming music for me. (If you stick around for ACF 2024 I might divulge some of that reasoning, but for now I'll just say, It is what it is and I know why.) That being said I'll try to beef up my numbers again next year.
Top Artists:
Now don't get me wrong I love The Wonder Years down, however I made a collaborative playlist of The Wonder Years and Hot Mulligan with a friend and basically didn't turn it off lol (it was definitely a shower mix for sure) and that's how they ultimately won the award on my main account.
As for the "side" account, which felt like the main this year, Winnetka Bowling League is just one of those groups that's so good to put on and let run. Now of course I have my repeats, that I've been talking about for the last few years and then I added more and so whether it was going to their page and hitting play or seeking out my repeats, I totally get why they won there. They're coming out with a full album next year, so get used to me talking about them 90% of the time. And if you hop on their train, remember I'm the conductor.
As for the other artists who touched the top 5, I saw 3 of them in concert this year, so naturally their numbers are going to be higher. Also Watsky made it cause Intention is not on CD, hopefully yet.
Genre Sandwiches and Top Tracks:
It's Pop-Punk season mixed with Winnetka Bowling League and Watsky, so both sides reflect that. That being said, the main diver is where I play the majority of the R&B, Neo-Soul and the likes, so they're rarely reflected on my second. But KNOW, I am a mix of Pop-Punk and Neo-Soul, always!
Again it's Pop-Punk season or rather Hot Mulligan season and I spent a lot of time learning every word to those two tracks that won, but are too long for me to desire to type out now. "Draw and quarter a stranger to feel some blood on your fingers. You take away, robbery follow trends as a hobby, find flaws in everything else because you don't like yourself. Woe is me!"
Collector vs Alchemist:
They both say essentially the same thing which is that I make and listen to my own playlists more than anything else, but anyone who works with me could have told you that lol. Geniuses.
Winner? Winner? Chicken Dinner?
Again they basically say the same thing this year, which is that we listened to a lot of Hot Mulligan, Relient K is still my favorite band and if i see you in concert you tend to show up on my Wrapped for the year. I will say though that I'm hella surprised that this is the first year Lyfe Jennings didn't show up on my Wrapped and although that makes way for other folks, it's still a little sad lol.
.
.
.
Hey we made it through Spotify Wrapped Time and now must move on to the more nuanced and obviously better Akward Class Favorites 2023. If you don't know, it where I just go through my year in movies, music, online content consumption and other things of the like, so better lol. Don't have an ETA on when that will go up, but I've taken the notes, so hopefully before the end of December.

Plok Goes So Hard Feel Free To Like And RePlok If You Agree
My Spotify Wrapped is fucking weird and like kinda accurate but also like not at all but like 2/3rds of the music I listen to isn't on Spotify anyways so like it kinda makes sense why it's not completely accurate but also like????
Tumblr media
But like yeah this one makes perfect sense this is one of the non-weird ones, the only weird part of this is that number is way too low, I 100% listened to it more than 147 times, just most of that probably wasn't on Spotify. I listened to this on loop every day for like 2 months straight earlier this year, it was like actually a problem so like yea this is definitely my most listened to song this year.
Tumblr media
But like, most of the rest of my top 10, uhh no??? cringe??? wuh??? guh??? The Time Has Come makes sense too tho like no complaints for the top 2, I think it's funny when it says "the time has come and so have I" and that line alone means it deserves to be at least top 2. Number 3 is like by far the most confusing on this entire list of 100 songs (you don't get to see 11-100 that would require too many screenshots and also nobody is allowed to see where Team Chaotix is on the list (the answer is it's somehow not in the top 100, and that's really embarrassing)). Vigilante is like near the very bottom of my tier list of Hiroyuki Sawano songs, like it's still good, but like, it's nowhere near #3 good, I feel like I skip it half the time it plays too so like I have no clue how it's as high as it is. Like if literally any other song composed by that guy was at #3 I wouldn't be surprised at all, but I guess I just don't listen to any of those enough on Spotify.😔 4 makes sense, Amatsu Kaze is definitely the FFXIV song that's on Spotify that I listen to the most, idk if it's my number 1 favorite, but definitely what I listen to most often. Unfortunately neither Dedicated To Moonlight, nor Athena The Tireless One are on Spotify yet otherwise at least one, if not both would probably be in this spot instead. 5 is also weird as fuck, like I love this song, world.execute(me) is definitely one of my favorite Mili songs, but I feel like it's more of a 2022 song, I feel like I've listened to sustain++ way more this year. Although I guess I do listen to it a lot more off Spotify than on Spotify so I guess it kinda makes sense but still like, I think sustain++ should be here instead. Masterpiece? more like, yea this song is a masterpiece. Yea this is one of my favorite songs of all time I've been listening to this consistently since like 2011 and I still listen to it enough to be in the top 10, really any Toaru song being super high makes sense, this is definitely my favorite one tho. This one kinda sorta makes sense, like yea I definitely do listen to Violence a lot, and it's probably my 2nd favorite Chainsaw Man song, but I think I like Chainsaw Blood a bit more, and I thought I listened to it pretty much equally, yet it's way lower down the list. Tbh I'm kinda surprised Calling for Rain isn't slightly higher, like this is another one that I listened to nonstop on loop for like an entire month, I'm satisfied that it's here though, acceptable placement. Yea Gravitation is another Toaru song, any Toaru song being high will never be a surprise, the only consistency in life is that 10 years from now I'll still be listening to Index openings and Sonic the Hedgehog music. Yea No Buts! is another Toaru song. I like how the first 10 seconds sounds like I broke into a bank and am about to die :)
I lied this is fun so I'm gonna keep going here's 11-20 :)
Tumblr media
11. THIS SONG RELEASED LESS THAN A FUCKING MONTH AGO WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH ME HOW IS IT SO HIGH I like the line where it says "how many liters can you bleed" because I too like the metric system and also blood. 12. Slightly surprising this is so high, I'm glad it is, one of my favorite songs for sure but like, didn't realize I still listened to it often enough to make top 20, very cool. What if Meguca and Hameru kis 13. Ok I know why this one is as high as it is because I couldn't find most Ali Project songs on Spotify until like 3 months ago, but like, this is probably in my top 5 least favorite, and also least listened to Ali Project songs so it DOES NOT deserve to be this high but also I couldn't find any of the cooler songs until recently so ;-; 14. I hate that this is probably my favorite Inabakumori song because listening to it makes me so depressed because I associate it with being depressed as fuck but like, I like it :) 15. How the FUCK is this one higher than Guitar, Loneliness and Blue Planet, I DON'T EVEN LIKE THIS ONE THAT MUCH, ok I mean it's still pretty good but like it's no Masterpiece. 16. Yea this one's pretty good I'm okay with this Hiroyuki Sawano song being this high, still not as good as like Club Ki3e, or Here I Am, or Brave the Ocean, or like a bunch of his other songs, but I do still feel like I listen to it a lot, DEFINITELY MORE THAN VIGILANTE, FUCK YOU VIGILANTE I HATE YOU, I FUCKING HATE YOU!!! 17. sigh this one's okay I do like this one, but still definitely not peak Ali Project, but like, I like it more than the last one at least so that's cool! 18. YEAAAAAA SONIC WOOOOOOOOOOO fucking took long enough. Idk if this is necessarily my favorite Sonic song this year, and if I included non-Spotify listens it definitely wouldn't be my most listened to, but like it's probably like top 10 Sonic songs of all time so honestly the real issue here is that it's not way higher. 19. WOOOOOOOO YEAAAAAAA THE COOLER BOCCHI SONG YEAAAAAAA this should be higher 100%, I do listen to it more frequently outside of Spotify so I get why it's not in like the top 10, but if this was counting all of the music I've listened to on all platforms over the last year, this would easily be in the top 10, I listen to this constantly. 20. I'm very surprised this one isn't higher, I feel like I listen to it a lot, and it's the only x0o0x_ song on Spotify that I really like. I definitely like their cover of Big Brother more, but unfortunately Spotify doesn't think that song exists, it also doesn't think 2/3rds of the music I actually listen to exists so I think Spotify is kinda dumb and stupid and stupid.
ONE MORE ROUND! ONE MORE ROUND!!
Tumblr media
21. This is pretty much exactly where I would expect this one to be, like yea I listen to Kick Back a lot, but like, not constantly and I feel like I probably listen to Chainsaw Blood more oftenTHERE IT IS THERE IT IS IT'S RIGHT THERE AT NUMBER 30 WHY IS IT SO LOW! 22. I think this may actually be my least favorite of the Drakengard 3 vocal songs, like it's still good I still enjoy it a lot, but like why is this the only one on Spotify??? But like yeah Black Song White Scales is definitely probably the best one I don't have hot takes. 23. WOOOOOOO YEAAAAA this is definitely my favorite Inabakumori song that doesn't make me depressed af, wish it was higher Rainy Boots is kinda like the anti-depression song. 24. Shut up, shut the fuck up it's good I don't care I will kill you shut up now. 25. It's so sad that this is the lowest Toaru song on here, this is like my 3rd favorite one yet it's this far down, this is so sad, I'm licherally going to move onto the next song. 26. If I had used Spotify in 2020 this would've probably been my most listened to song that year, and it probably would've still been in the top 5 in 2021, so good to know that maybe by 2030 it'll finally be outside of my top 100. But like yeah Reol kinda pog and this is definitely my favorite song of her's, should've been higher. 27. This one is so odd, because it is entirely not my normal style of music, yet I still like it for some reason and clearly still listen to it a lot and I have no clue why I like it because I really shouldn't. I think it may literally just be because it's from a game that I like because I also like almost the entire Madworld OST and that's all the same type of music. 28. UMINEKO YEAAAA UMINEKO WOOOOOO FINALLY YEAAAA unfortunately Occultics no Majo isn't on spotify otherwise it would easily, and permanently be in the top 10 and also would've been for the last 3 years, but like this one's still really good, it's an alright consolation prize, but nothing can compete with peak, it's truly so unfair. Very surprised that Kina no Kaori ~ Ai no Shiren isn't higher tho, like I don't think it's even in the top 100, but I do definitely listen to it way more off Spotify so I guess I probably shouldn't be too surprised. Not enough Umineko representation on this list, next year I need to make sure to exclusively listen to M. Zacky so I can meet my minimum required Umineko threshold. 29. I'm not sure whether to be surprised at how low this is, or how high it is, because I fucking love this song and have been listening to it, along with the rest of the Sonic CD soundtrack a ton in the last 2 months, but prior to very recently this was one of my less listened to Sonic songs. I guess I've just been listening to it enough recently to put it this high, very epic, will never complain about a Sonic song being so high on the list. 30. THERE IT IS GARY THERE IT IS!!! This is probably my favorite Chainsaw Man song, so I'm really surprised that both Kick Back and Violence are both way higher, I guess it's probably another case of me listening to it more often outside Spotify without realizing it.
Ok eepy disease is getting too strong so no more extra special bonus rounds, 30 is enough. In conclusion fuck Spotify, doesn't even have Ort's theme from FGO, or hxcxx2 my favorite song with 500 views on Youtube, I hate Spotify and I hope Mr. Spotify falls in a river and then gets out of said river covered in mud and also deadly leeches.

okay fuck it. 1 and 3. but also, i wanna ask -- was there any song you expected in your top 5 this year but didn't make it
spotify glitched on an extreme level at some point during the year because tonight will be fine - live at isle of wight festival, UK by leonard cohen legitimately should have been my number one (it is my third most played track of all time) but it’s not included on my spotify wrapped at all!! it’s really weird lol
one 2016: don’t you worry bout a thing by stevie wonder 2017: dearly departed by shakey graves 2018: southern nights by allen toussaint 2019: mama nantucket by mike nesmith and the first national band 2020: all i want by joni mitchell 2021: morning to midnight - demo by bobbie gentry 2022: hares on the mountain by shirley collins and davy graham
