I just seen your post on JKR and then Rick Riordan, oh my gosh, where do I even start?

Sit down, I've brought the tea.

So I'm in my 30s, and as you may guess, I was reading Percy Jackson as the books were being published. I joined, I think, just as The Last Olympian came out. I was definitely here for The Lost Hero, and considered myself a longtime fan by then, so, as you may guess, I was in the fandom for quite some time.

I bore witness to everything Rick Riordan did, from fan harassment and bullying to racist remarks he made about his characters. I watched firsthand as he posted how happy he was with the movie casting choices as they slowly came out.

I was watching Supernatural at the time; it was the season where Michael and Lucifer were squaring off, Jake Abel was there, so Season 5 (it ended at Season 15), and I was happy that someone I knew was playing Luke.

Anyway, he was very happy; he would make posts about shooting, being on set. He only started openly hating the movie AFTER it flopped at the box office... I guess it didn't give him the fame and fortune he had expected? Shines a new light on that hate, doesn't it?

I haven't checked in a very long time, but I believe he has deleted those early blog posts where he praised the movie and the sets, taking pictures with the cast and saying they were all perfect. He even said Jake was exactly how he had pictured Luke. Come to think of it, he has buried his blog, as it is not at all easy to find anymore after the whole incident with that blog post on Gaza/Israel.

When I heard he was now making a TV show, I watched him and the cast carefully. The TV show seems to be a slight success, so he's very happy to praise and support it. But what if it flopped?

He would be slagging them all off. I think a lot of actors were put off Percy Jackson on disney as his reaction to the first movie was so unprofessional and he enjoyed letting everybody know how much he hated it.

Back to the fans now, I saw Rick Riordan every week blocking fans, then posting their usernames and pictures/screenshots of what they had said to be blocked by him. The majority of them were young fans telling him they had watched the movie and liked it. He was posting pictures of little kids' profiles and sending his fans out to hunt them down online and harass them. It happened all the time and he enjoyed it so much he even made a Q&A about it on his website (since took down) he knew about the fans bullying other fans too, he openly encouraged it.

I was actually one of the first people to start a Rick Riordan call-out group; this was when I was about 19 or 20. I was documenting his toxic behaviour back then, that was before the problematic aspects of his books came to light. The man has been vile for a very long time.

I am quite happy running a tutorial blog for gifs right now, but if I had the time, I would start a blog with all of my old content back. Sadly the older stuff is lost as it was on my original blog which has been dead for years, but anybody else around 30 who was online during the fandom's original run can tell you how much of a jerk he is. We used to call him Uncle D*ck and a friend of mine actually messaged him with a list of everything problematic he was doing.

He turned very nasty.

The nice guy act is just that, an act. His new Rick Riordan persona came out maybe four years ago now?

There's a reason he posted a lame ass post about harassment in book publishing and how he's going to self reflect upon his own actions when his buddy James Dashner was exposed a couple of years ago. There's a reason he ran from Twitter and there's a reason now why the official Percy Jackson book twitter is often set to private/public without replies... he can't hide his true nature much longer and people are once again waking up to him.

I would not allow my kids within feet of Percy Jackson, that's toxic shit right there.

I'm became a PJO fan in early 2023, for context (literally by reading Solangelo fanfiction) and I am beyond disappointed in other PJO fans for ignoring this and myself for not doing adequate research.

The whole movie/show drama is very interesting, definitely did not know about how he began hating it AFTER it flopped. Like, I've always seen it played as him hating it because its book accurate.

But it makes more sense this way. Honestly, I watched the show when it came out and it's not very book accurate at all. I've been scratching my head wondering why he was so kind to it when it was not even that good. But now it makes sense.

Hi lovely, you've probably gotten so many notifications from me the past few days and I'm sorry but just loving all your content 😍 Your art is gorgeous and I've recently started S7 of Supernatural for the first time, so seeing your posts has been making my brain whirr in the happiest of ways!

I'm also so curious, how are you able to make GIFs? I've been on this hellsite forever at this point and never got around to learning that. Unless it's a state secret of course.

My gif making process is no secret. I've only started doing it recently and I'm still fighting with whether i compromise resolution or color grading for file size. But I'm tryin! There are no doubt better resources than me for this, but I'll walk through what I do.

**Side note, there are sites online that will let you upload clips and turn them into gifs for you. I've never really liked these for security purposes, but I'm sure things have gotten better since I've last messed with them.

Personally I go a little overboard, but I like having control of everything:

For all the stills / videos / gifs I pull, I use DaVinci Resolve. There is a free version of the application and its sick - I've never needed the paid version for the silly little edits I do in my spare time.

DaVinci Resolve looks very scary if you've never used video editing software before, but its actually pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it (not that I always know what I'm doing!) There are a bunch of great videos online that will walk you through how to use it as well.

Basic process:

Upload video into a project.

Mark in (start) and Mark out (end) the part of the video you want to make into a gif. I use the markers as I watch something and "cut" the video where needed.

Fuss with the export settings, select the part of the video you cut, and render!

If you are me, check the file size and immediately swear because you've forgotten to change the resolution again (I should just save it as a preset but I'm stubborn.)

Rinse, repeat!

As for getting videos, you can grab stuff from youtube if you want to clip a scene from anything on there. That's how I isolated the stupid tim and eric bit on my post about 'when i see Cas' lol. I use the CNVMP3 webpage to grab youtube videos and I've never had an issue with it.

Otherwise, all of my Supernatural specific stuff comes from my own blu-ray discs. I've gone through an arduous process of digitizing my physical media so I can watch it easier.

I can send you down the rabbit hole by suggesting MakeMKV and Handbrake applications, both free, if you have physical media you want to edit. I found reddit threads that taught me how to use them after a few google searches on the topic.

You got popular with humans when they discovered free will.

Which lead them to discover envy, jealousy, egos, self-centered tendencies, greed, the whole grocery list. You weren't the demon who introduced the ideas unfortunately, just one of the few that have kept those ideals running among the mortals. You've given a lot of people a lot of things over the centuries; talent, money, love, power. All of it for the small price of a soul. There are many ways to conjure you but humans popularized the intersection of paths to be their primary method. It worked for you too, the paths separate but only conjoining for a moment, that moment where they will make a choice that will change their lives forever. You always liked the irony of it all.

"What can I help you with?"

The young man in front of you whipped around to face you, his coat flailing behind him. His dark brown eyes widened slightly before his brow furrowed, "You're the devil?" You internally rolled your eyes, Lucifer has never dealt with negotiations, its one of the tales told by mortals that irked you. All your hard work over shadowed by God's favourite rebel.

"If that's who you were calling for then yes, tis I" You threw in a smirk to try and seem friendly. It was only a small lie, you may not be the devil but, technically, demons and devils are the same creature, only separated by hellish status. And you, technically, are a devil.

"And who may you be?" The man in front of you swallowed and straightened up a bit. "I'm Robert, Robert Johnson." You left out a surprised laugh, "Oh the guitar player. I had a feeling I'd be meeting you soon." Roberts hands shifted against his trousers, probably wiping the sweat off them. "You know about me?" You looked left down the path, then right. "Yes, I hear about all those who sing the blues. After all people are often singing about despair and I happen to have expertise in that area" Your eyes landed back on his figure, a shoe box sitting at his feet with what you could assume was the usual offerings. "Now I can only guess what you've called me here for," Your eyes glowed red, "You fancying to make a deal Robert?"

You barely got the words out before he jumped,

"I want you to make me the best guitarist there ever was."

Your relationship with Hell was a interesting one considering how much time you've spent away from it, you didn't have a very strong connection to the place, or any of the demons for that matter, well maybe one of them. You've spent all of your time on Earth, at this point you're pretty sure you've been to every corner of the planet. You were plopped topside at a young age, told to go make friends with the weird smelling humans and convince them that sinning was the way to go. You were awkward to say the least and the humans weren't very keen on your temptations, you learned pretty quickly that you needed to change your tactics. That's where your deals came into fruition. You were proud of your accomplishments and so was Lucifer and for your success he gave you a couple of hellhounds, your best friends.

So with all of that said, when you were called downstairs by Beelzebub it was odd. It had been a long time since you were last down there.

A heavy sigh left your lungs when you entered the dark, disheveled place. The air was hot and cold at the same time, the smell of sulfur lingered in the brimstone. You couldn't find it within yourself to miss any of this.

You turned towards the voice calling your name, "It's been a long time." You meet Beelzebub's eyes. "Suppose it has." You took another glance around the open room expecting other demons to be present, but, to your surprise it was only the two of you

"Have you heard?" You rubbed your nose and tried not to roll your eyes, "No Beelzebub I haven't. I've been kinda busy." A buzzing zipped around your head, "It's the end times...Armageddon. You're being called to fight."

"No." You let out a humorless laugh and shook your head, "I'm gonna pass, thank you."

"You can't pass y/n." You turned towards the exit. "I think I can." You tried to take a step forward but you were frozen in place. "Let me go Bee."

"You are a demon, a creature of sin. You were created for this moment. To gain the power back for our master, to enact his revenge!"

"His revenge? His?" You broke out of Beelzebub's invisible force and faced them again. "You do realize he doesn't care for us, just like his creator never cared for him. This war doesn't benefit us, it benefits no one! It's about a son and his absent mother! I'm not a family therapist and I'm not wasting my time dealing with this petty fight of whose side is better. And you shouldn't either Bee"

"It is Beelzebub! You are being ridiculous. I don't know how you're a demon, you're....you're a disgrace."

"I have given you soul, after soul, after soul. More than half of Hells' population came from me. I have given more to 'our master' than anyone! I thought we were friends Bee?"

"You will address me by my proper name! And demons don't have friends you know this. You're contributions to Hell have not gone unnoticed, this is why you will join the fight!"

You looked up at the ceiling, "Satan, you and this power trip. And to think I convinced him to crown you prince." You gestured as you spoke, "No, we've been over this. I won't be fighting for Hell, not after last time."

"Last time? Really? You are so weak to be detoured from your true calling."

"You almost died! Are you too stupid to remember I held your decaying form in my arms? That I dragged you back here? If it wasn't for me you would've been another one lost to existence."

"It is in our nature to do whatever it may cost."

"Grow a back bone Bee!" You stared at your old friend, a sadness you had forgotten about crept its way back inside you as you watched the inner turmoil behind their beady eyes. With a sigh, "Look I'll be busy so don't bother me with this ridiculous war. Which, by the way, isn't going to end well for you." You went to go to the exit again.

"Y/n wait-"

"What?!" Your eyes flashed red causing Beelzebub to flinched, almost barely noticeable. "I need you to help us...to help me." A low growl rumbled throughout the space. "The snake, Crowley, they want him to come back."

"Crowley? And what? You want me to go fetch him for you?"

"If you could do me the favour. It'll be the last one."

"Yes it will be." You stormed over to them, red smoke pouring out of your fingertips as you grabbed their hand roughly and shook it, "You will never be able to ask anything from me, there will be no more favours after this." You dropped their hand, "Like you said, we are not friends." Beelzebub gritted their teeth and held their hand, your sigil burned into their palm.

You walked away quickly as the ground shook and the wall split open to reveal a blue sky. Without looking back, you walked through.

it was quiet. A soft breeze blew rustling the clothes you wore. The view is one of your favourites, Everest. So high up and far away from everything, everyone. The apocalypse, Armageddon, the end of everything. Your throat hurt from the scream you let out. Your entire world, the world is gonna end. Everything you have known was going to go down in a fire. Your voice traveled far, the agonizing yell echoing through the peaks. You wondered if you should start grieving the Earth now. You've considered the floating rock your home for almost your whole life. You never fit in among hellish and you were shunned by the holy. It was the world's beautiful nature and your hounds that have kept you company over the eons. Why would the higher ups decide to end everything now? Why would they ever want to end this?

And Crowley? You had to look for him. He's been around since the beginning, he must know why. He's got to.

It only took you a couple of days to find him. Soho, London. Not a bad choice. You stood in front of a bookstore, the inside visible from the large windows. It looked cozy. Bookshelves were everywhere and it looked like there were stacks of books on every surface too. You wondered if this collection was Crowley's, he didn't seem like the kind of person to enjoy books this much.

You kind of knew him. It wasn't long after The Fall when you were created and dumped onto Earth's doorstep. It was funny how the ground cracked open and a more feral version of yourself crawled out and he was standing there, white feathers still molting to black, staring at the red-eyed, mangy looking creature crouching like a dog in front of him. You didn't stick around long before running into the nothingness nearby.

You cringed slightly, hopefully he won't remember you.

Taking a deep breath you reached forward and walked into the bookshop.

Immediately you were met with the smell of tea, wood, and old books. It was warm, not temperature wise but the feeling of the establishment took over your earlier anxieties. "Hello?" You called out into the empty shop. You could feel the presence of another supernatural being, you definitely had your guy. Hair like a cloud, a man came out from the back, glasses on the end of his nose. His clothes had a cream colour scheme. And he was definitely not Crowley. "Oh, hello! How may I help you?" You shifted under his gaze and now that he was a little closer you could pick up on his smell, it was like someone turned on an old tv and the electricity was popping in the air, that undeniable angelic smell. His own natural scent lingered as well and it was much more pleasant, cedar and honey.

As he came to a stop in front of you, you could tell he knew you were a demon. He could sense it. It wasn't like you were trying to hide it anyways, there wasn't a point to it when you thought you were going to meet with one of your own.

"I, uh, I'm looking for someone..." You awkwardly looked around the space, trying to use your ears and nose to sus out if someone else was in the building. "Oh well it is just myself here. Do you perhaps have a name? I might be able to point you in their direction." The angel gave you a kind smile that didn't meet his eyes. "Yeah, um, Crowley? He's....an acquaintance?" You felt yourself make a face. "An acquaintance?" The angel repeated the words in the same I-don't-believe-what-I'm-saying way. "I mean we're more like coworkers, distant coworkers....okay look you obviously aren't human and I know that you know I'm not either so let's stop beating around the bush." You rubbed at your face to relieve tension, "I don't work in hell, well technically I do, I mean not in, you could say I work for hell but that also isn't the correct way of titling my job?- Sorry I'm getting off track. Anyways, I need to talk to Crowley because I'm doing Hell a favour. Do you know where he is?" The angel blinked at you a couple of times, processing his answer to your small word vomit moment. "I wouldn't know where he-"

"Please I thought lying was my sides thing. It's not really a secret you two 'hangout'. " The angel closed his mouth and you continued, "I don't want to be here anymore than you want me here so if you could be nice and point me in his direction like you said-"

"And who are you?"

You looked over your shoulder to see the man you were looking for. "Crowley?" His eyebrows rose up from behind his glasses, "Yes and who are you?" He took a couple steps closer to you. "I uh, you don't remember me but I'm y/n." This time his brows lowered to furrow. He mumbled your name a couple of times before he let out a bit of air, "Oh! Yeah you're the weird one who came out of the ground that one time." You huffed out a sigh, "Yeah, yeah that's, uh, that's me. I do work the crossroads too you know?" He waved his hand dismissively, "Yeah you do, don't you?" You grew antsy and glanced between the demon and angel, "I'm not here to rain on...whatever this is, I was just asked to tell you that they need you to go down there." Crowley made a noise at the back of his throat, "And they had to send someone to tell me? Making me feel important." He turned to the angel and smirked.

"Crowley, are you sure?" Worried features took over the cherubs face. "Remember what-" The demon waved his hand again, "Yes, yes, I'll head on down in a bit." You continued to stare at him. "What, right now?" You nodded, "Yeah, I need to finish the deal." His brows shot up to his hairline, "Deal? You made a deal over me?" You rolled your eyes, "No not 'over' you," You brought up your hands to use quotations, "I'm done with Hell. I made a deal with Beelzebub so they could never ask me to do anything for Hell again." Crowley slightly nodded his head to your words and glanced at the angel who was still standing in front of you. "I told them I'd bring you to Hell so they could-" You stopped yourself and looked to the angel, he was watching you as you spoke, a hard look in his eyes. He must know what was going on. "They'll tell you when we get there." You casted your eyes down, somewhat feeling guilty for knowing that this demon was being dragged into another war that would change his life forever, again.

"Well let's get this over with." Crowley walked past you and out the door. You walked to the door and paused to look over your shoulder at the angel, "...Thanks for the help." You gave him a small smile and left to catch up with Crowley. The lanky man was going to a pair of double doors tucked away from the more busier areas. "So what's this meeting about?" You both entered the 'elevator'. "The Apocalypse." Crowley looked over at you, "Oh really? Guess it's about time ain't it?" You sigh, "Suppose so..." He shifted his body towards you a bit, "You don't seem very thrilled about it." You picked at your fingers, "To be honest I'm not. War isn't something that interests me." He let out a hum, "Odd thing for a demon to not be interested in." You shrugged, "I'm more of a negotiator. Conflict has never been my thing." Crowley nodded, "That makes sense." You looked over at him, "What about you? Looking forward to the end of everything?"

"Not particularly no."

It was your turn to raise your eyebrows but before you could question him any longer, the elevator let out a quiet *ding* signaling you had reached your final destination. Beyond the doors was a congregation of demons with Beelzebub sitting on a 'throne' of sorts in the middle of the room, with Hastor and Ligur standing alongside them. "Hello Crowley." Beelzebub dipped their head in greeting. "Hello Beelzebub, Hastor, Ligur." Crowley pointed to the other two who said their own greetings back.

"Y/n." Beelzebub looked at you with the same turmoil in their eyes. "Bee." The wooden throne creaked as Beelzebub gripped the arms, "Thank you for bringing Crowley here. You are dismissed." You shrugged your shoulders, "I think I'll stick around to listen to your Great Plan." Beelzebubs look turned into a glare, "Our deal is done. Leave." The edge of your lips quirked up, "Its in the contract that you can't ask anything of me...my prince." You winked at Beelzebub. You watched as they closed their eyes and took a deep breath. "Let's discuss why we needed you here Crowley." They turned their attention to the red head. "Our Lord has deemed it time for Armageddon. The Anti-Christ is ready to be delivered to the Chattering Order of St. Beryl and this task has been assinged to you." The snake demons shoulders deflated for a second, then he rolled them back and puffed out his chest a bit. "Alrighty. When do we do this thing?"

"Tonight."

"Right..."

My Pride Month Watch List

Current Shows

These are shows I’m currently watching and the ones I know I am starting this month.

At 25:00, in Akasaka (Japan)

This is nearing its end. I've enjoyed it so far (despite the dead fish kisses). Not one of my favorites, but definitely enjoyable.

Blue Boys Part 2 (Korea)

Part 1 was so good in terms of the chemistry and overall vibe that I'm excited to see part 2 (which is set to be released sometime this month).

My Stand-In (Thailand)

One of my favorite current shows. A naive (but slowly growing) main character, a scum male lead (whom I absolutely love), beautiful cinematography, grief is present (and I love that shit because it's like therapy for me), angst, supernatural elements, etc. It also has Up Poompat and Poom Phuripan in the main roles. I just love it.

Knock Knock, Boys! (Thailand)

This show started this week with the first two episodes, and it exceeded my expectations. I went into this series wanting to watch it for Seng (who is an amazing actor) and Best (who has something I can't quite put my finger on that pulls me in every time I see him). So far, after only two episodes, I already love it for the chaos (and I’m sure more chaos will come). Also, it includes a loud and proud pansexual character! I love both him and the representation.

Love Sea (Thailand)

It's about a writer (which means I have to watch it) and about the sea (which I love). And not just the sea, but diving as well (I love that even more). I'm starting this as soon as it premiers on the 9th.

My Marvellous Dream is You (Thailand)

I haven’t started this yet because I wanted some episodes to be out before I dove in. But I really like the gifs I’ve seen so far and will definitely dive into this series this month.

OMG! Vampire (Thailand)

This is the 3rd(?) series I'm watching with Frank and Long but I'm having a hard time getting into it. It started with a bang with Frank and Big kissing (dead fish kisses are clearly banned here, and I love it!) and then a bite (which is one of my kinks, lol). But, then... I'm hoping it picks up again soon because it has the potential to entertain me.

Only Boo! (Thailand)

Definitely not my cup of tea. This is way too cute for me. But, since it's about artists, three boys who want to become dancers/performers/idols, I have to watch it. The acting is great, though. I'm really impressed with these kids.

The Rebound (Thailand)

It's Meen. That's it. That's the reason. It's set to start on the 26th.

Sunset X Vibes (Thailand)

I need more Mos and Bank on my screen. That's it. That's the reason I'm watching this. Honestly, I don't know that much about this series, and want to go in blind. I know they'll deliver on the chemistry, and that's more than I can ask for. I'll be watching this as soon as it premiers on the 15th.

The Two of Us (Thailand)

This is the Freya and Meji spinoff from Deep Night and I can't wait to watch these mature sapphic women being domestic. The first episode came out on Thursday, but I'm watching it today.

Wandee Goodday (Thailand)

Another one of my favorite current shows. This is everything I want in a light, funny, super horny show and I love it so much. Yak is one of my all-time favorite GMMTV characters, and I love how this show has paired two buff eye candies together in Inn and Great. (I can't remember if I've seen this dynamic since Max and Tul, but my memory is fucked so I might've forgotten the others...) I just love everything about this show and the chemistry between Yak and Dee. It also includes an ace character, whom I hope I get to see more of in coming episodes. And it includes a lot of neon lights (and I'm a slut for that).

We Are (Thailand)

I'm watching this for the artists that are in the series (and since I'm an artist, it's my duty, lol). I also love Tan and Fang as well as Q and Toey (which are currently the two couples that are keeping me hooked).

Rewatches

These are, just as the headline states, stuff I want to watch again.

I Told Sunset About You + I Promised You the Moon (Thailand)

I want to be blessed with this cinematography and the amazing chemistry between Billikin and PP Krit.

Secret Crush on You (Thailand)

I just love the friend group in this show so much that I want to rewatch it again. Also, it has neon lights (and I'm a slut for that). And Looknam. Do I need to say more? I think not!

Step by Step (Thailand)

This series isn't necessarily that great, but I want need more Up on my screen. Also, Man is such a huge man (and Scandi), and that's a big plus (that he's huge, I mean). And it's got Zorzo (my ideal woman) and Poppy (he's such a gem)! Despite its flaws, I'm really excited to rewatch this.

To Be Continued (Thailand)

I've been meaning to rewatch this since it ended because I loved it so much. So I'm telling myself to dive into it again this month.

Unintentional Love Story (Korea)

There was just something about the vibe of this series that I want to experience again. Also, it's about a potter (and, as you can probably tell from this post, I love watching shows with artists of all kinds).

New Watches

These aren't necessarily newly produced. They are shows/films I've been meaning to watch for quite some time without having gotten around to it. But now is my chance (and duty) to dive in.

A Shoulder to Cry On (Korea)

I've heard some mixed feelings about this, but that doesn't really deter me. And since Korean BLs are usually short, it doesn't matter that much if I end up not liking it.

The Blue Hour (Thailand)

This is a film with Gun ATP (one of my favorite Thai actors), which I've been putting off for far too long. I'm going into it without knowing very much, which is just how I like it.

His (Japan)

I've been meaning to watch this for months, especially after seeing Miyazawa Hio in Egoist at the end of last year.

Light on Me (Korea)

I've heard about this from various sources a lot lately, so I figured I would watch it this month. I don't know anything about it, but I've heard it's good.

Mama Gogo (Thailand)

I've been putting this off for far too long. It was created by Jojo. That's all I need to know, and all I need to dive into it this month.

The Warp Effect (Thailand)

I've been putting this off for far too long. It's about damn time to watch it. Also, it was created by Jojo.

I slowly descend the bunker's stairs, gripping the railing to keep my balance.  My head is throbbing…  Fucking hangover! That's why I don't drink!

"Just on time!" Sam says coming from the library. " Let's go!" "Where?" "I need to check out something." "Where is Dean?" "He called to tell me he is running some errands in town. Come now. We don't have much time." "Can I at least get coffee first?" "Can we take the Jeep?" Sam counters me. "Yes, but you are driving." Just now he looks closely at me and raises his brows. "You ok?" He asks. "I feel like I was hit by a truck… twice…" "Are you hungover?" He muses. "I thought you didn't drink." "I don't… Last night was an exception. The only exception."

He sits in the driver's side of the Jeep, adjusting the seat. I offer him the key when I climb next to him. "Actually…" I pull back the key and I press my finger next to the ignition. "Jarvis, say hello to Sam." "Entering a new biometric signature." The car's computer answers. "Please, state your full name." I make a gesture for Sam to reply. "Sam Winchester." "Voice pattern saved. Please put your hands on the steering wheel." Sam obeys every command the computer gives him. I show him how to work with the dashboard and then I lead him to the truck to explain the equipment.

"Here you go!" I say to him, finally giving him the key. "It is yours." "What?"  He asks, confused. "Why?" "I've meant to do this for a while." "But why?" "Just take it and say thank you!" I snap at him. My head is still hurting. He starts the engine and drives out of the garage without saying another word.

"Jarvis… Really?" He says after an hour driving in silence. "You are such a nerd." "I never said otherwise." I chuckle.

Sam parks the Jeep by the side of the road, behind Cas' car and he goes to talk to him. I desid to wait in the car, since my head is still throbbing a little. I'm way better than I was in the morning and the burger I ate on the way helped a lot.

"What are we doing here, anyway?" I ask Sam. "We need Metatron's help." "Because you think Metatron might have information about The Mark of Cain?" "I know he has." "Are you sure, though?" We are approaching a playground when a man stops us.  Not a man.  An angel.  Four of them.  And they are not happy to see us.  And… definitely not letting us talk to The Scribe of God. "Cas, let's go." Sam pulls the angel away. "What? We're leaving?" "Yeah, we can't fight off four angels." "So… so what? You just want to give up on Metatron?" Castiel protests. "No, we need him. Time for plan 'B'... We break him out."

We are walking down a dark street toward a house. "So, back in the '50s, Oliver Pryce was a kid psychic." Sam fills us in. "He performed everywhere… carnivals, Atlantic City… you name it. He was the real deal. Now, The Men of Letters were teaching him how to control his powers when they got… you know."

"Mr. Pryce? This is Sam…" "Winchester. You're Sam Winchester, Man of Letters." A bald man opens the door. "Yeah. How did you, uh..." "Mind reader, remember? And you're... What are you?" The psychic asks Cas. "I'm an Angel." "That... No, you can't be." "Why not?" Cas asks, really confused by the man's statement. "Because I'm an atheist." I burst into laughter. That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. "Not anymore." Sam says passing by Mr. Pryce, entering the house. "And you…" The old man looks sadly at me. "What happened to you?" "I'll just stay outside." I'm quick to interrupt him. "Oh… no, no, no! Someone can see you standing there. And then… they will all start knowing on my door. No, no, no!" He pulls me instead. "You can wait here." He points to an armchair for me to sit.

Sam, Castiel, and Mr. Pryce are sitting around a table with candles on it. Sam's plan is to contact some old friend named Bobby, who died a while back. By the way he is talking about the man, I believe he was more than a friend… more like a father to him and Dean. So… Cas is explaining the plan to Bobby and I'm sitting in the corner the entire time. "I like her!" The psychic says when they are done. "She is smart and funny and really sassy, despite her dark thoughts!" Sam looks at me and then at the psychic. "She was wondering if the angels had changed the place of the door to Earth in the last 50-60 years." The bald man shrugs. "Metatron changed it to be behind door 42 when he was in charge of Heaven." Castiel answers. "And they call me a nerd!" I laugh out loud. "What?" Cas is confused once again. "I'll explain it later." Sam says and gets up from the table. "You will need to talk to that young lady as soon as possible." I hear Mr. Pryce says to Sam, just before he shuts the door behind us. Yeah… we will need to talk.

I splash water on my face and when I look at the mirror my eyes flash black for a second… Panic fills my chests and I blink at my reflection.  No!  I'm not giving up control.  Not yet!  Not until I'm sure Emilia will be ok.

"Been waiting for you." I say to the demon when he finally appears. I expect him to start a fight, to try to kill me, like his mother tried just an hour ago. "Squirrel." He just retorts.

"Look, I'm not saying that I didn't want to slice and dice the witch. I'm just saying that that's not how it went down." We are sitting in the empty bar. "So she's a liar." "Must run in the family." "Mother says The Mark is just a curse, can be removed. Of course, she doesn't know how." "Figures." I pour myself another drink. "But I'm good, thanks." "Who's the liar now?" Crowley frowns.

"What do you know about…" I hesitate for a second but I clear my throat and ask the question that was bugging me for a while. "What do you know about soulmates?" Crowley looks at me with a question in his eyes. "Is this bullshit real?" I ask. "Well… yeah… It is… but it's rare, as far as I know. Why don't you ask Castiel? It's more in his line of work since it's Heaven's way to arrange their perfect future heroes." He is quiet for a moment, then he continues. "Actually… I’m kinda surprised they haven't hooked you and Moose up with your own already… Imagine… the poor girls… they will be dead in a week…" I do not answer him, do not even look at him… "Oh! Bloody hell! They did! Didn't they!"

Cas walks through the portal with Metatron. Well… it turns out, the angel was trying to play us out until he could escape. He knows nothing about The Mark. He has no idea how to remove it.  I'm not surprised but I keep my comments to myself. There is no point of told-you-so-s. But the sneaky angel manages to convince Cas he can take him to what's left of his grace.

"So… why did the psychic insist that I need to talk to you as soon as possible?"  Sam asks me.  We are going back to the bunker. He is driving and I'm just staring through the window in the rain. "We had run out of time." I breathe out. "It can happen at any moment now…" He looks at me confused, trying to keep his eyes on the road at the same time. It takes him a moment to understand what I'm talking about.  "But you said…" He starts but then looks at me again, finally catching up. "It was your birthday yesterday…" I turn around staring at the rain again.  I don't need to see the hate returning into his eyes. I'm the enemy again.

"Hey." Sam greets his brother. "Hey. How was the movie?" "French." The younger Winchester lies. "What about you? What did you do last night?" "Played some pool. It was kind of boring." Dean is lying too. He is definitely hiding something. But we all are…

I decide to wait for an hour before entering the bunker. It's obvious that Sam doesn't want Dean to know where we were. Or that we were together. Well… there is no point in telling him if Metatron doesn't know anything.  So… I'm standing outside in the dark trying to get in peace with my fate once more… Hope is a dangerous thing…

"Look who decided to come home! Did you have fun?" Dean smiles at me but there is a bitterness in his tone. "Kinda…"  He is looking to start an argument but I have no strength left in me for it. "So… Sophie!? Another alias?" He pokes. "Aham…" I mumble. "And this guy… Thomas… was it? Another ex fiancé?" He continues to push the subject. "No… just a simple undercover job… in and out… just four or five days… nothing too complicated…" I quickly answer and hurry to my room, not wanting to deal with lying anymore today.

Rewatching The Devil You Know

Welcome to “Crowley Is Clean Shaven, Dean Is SO Smooth, and Sam Is the One You Should Be Afraid Of: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!

Up today, s5e20: The Devil You Know.

Sam and Dean are trying to track down Pestilence by following wild outbreaks of swine flu (remember swine flu?), when Crowley (YAY!) pops in offering to help. Shockingly, this sends the fraught fraternals into an argument. He is a demon, after all, and he did screw them over last time. Eventually they agree to go along, and oops! Crowley left out some details that leave Dean getting his ass whooped by a demon named Brady. But they get some info—aaaaaand learn that Brady is one of Sam’s college friends. Who has been possessed since long before Dean showed up with the news that Dad’s on a hunting trip and hasn’t been home in a few days. Oh boy. Dean’s in a state about Sam having to deal with this, Sam’s intent on murdering the bastard, and Crowley likes to watch. In the end, Crowley pays a visit to Bobby, with yet another proposal.

How many tumblr accounts have you had before this one?

Just one! I made it in 2012 to look at Walking Dead and Supernatural gifs and eventually it just turned into a personal blog. I met two of my best friends there!! Unfortunately I'm locked out of it for now because I decided to be a responsible internet enjoyer and changed all my passwords and I uhh. I can't remember what I changed it to. And the email I used to sign up 12 years ago is long dead. So that blog might be gone forever. Life is a highway I'm gonna ride it all night long etc. etc.

How long have you been in fandom?

I had really intense Supernatural and MCU phases back in the day, and binged TLOK and ATLA in 2015 after the Korra finale (I watched Korra first and then atla, and I maintain that's the best way to do it😌) but I never really participated in the fandom, like I never talked to anyone or made anything. So I'm gonna say I've been in fandom since summer 2023 when I made this blog to post my tlok fic (couldn't post it on my old one. My face is/was all over it. You understand.) Everyone I've interacted with here is like. Shockingly nice. Idk why I expected to be beaten with hammers but umm it didn't happen so thank you all for that💖

Your favorite trope in fiction?

AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED!!!!! Also rivals coming together to fight a common enemy and then maybe coming together in a different way.....? That's good too.

Your favorite random fact?

There are vast, delicate fungal networks in the earth beneath our feet right now as we speak :) They wrap around tree roots and spread far and wide, connecting multiple trees with each other and allowing them to share water and nutrients. This is especially helpful for saplings, which often aren't able to get enough sunlight to make their own sugars. The fungal network helps ensure the survival of young trees, and in exchange it gets a share in the nutrients being passed between the trees!!!

Oh god literally anywhere. I want to get marinated in every culture and environment I think that would blow my mind in the best way. I do want to make it to Italy specifically at some point in my life because apparently I have cousins there? But then again what if they're weird and I don't actually want to meet them.....

An animal you’re irrationally afraid of?

I can't really think of any? As a kid I was terrified of big dogs, but that fear is like 99% gone now. Sometimes other people have their dogs off leash in the woods and I gotta say. I Do Not Like It when they come running up snarling barking jumping with their hair raised at me. But the vast majority of dogs are I encounter are nice, and when they aren't I just try to ignore them and keep walking lol.

What’s your favourite season?

Autumn 10000% and then winter. Then spring. Then summer. I hate being hot.

A smell that brings you nice memories?

So maybe this is weird but I really like the way horses smell? I was a farm girl growing up and always loved horses....a horse bit the top of my head once...a different horse broke my arm......still love them.

My mom's Italian so it was all pasta all the time growing up...lasagna😭 Also chicken cacciatore but the pasta isn't the main event there. But yeah. Pasta tomato garlic basil.....I'm there babiee.

I'm also obsessed with Indian food and there's a place near me that has a vegetable korma that makes me cry.

What’s your favorite drink (if you drink alcohol, alcoholic and non-alcoholic)?

I don't drink alcohol anymore but I loooooooved rum & coke. Also hard cider.

As for regular drinks. I am 75% fruit juice by volume at all times.

Do you give your pets random table scraps?

My cat is a huge freak who turns her nose up at human food like she's literally too good for it. Sometimes I'll offer her a piece of cheese and she'll lick it, but that's it.

- The Lord of the Ring Trilogy

That one's an easy one. For a very long time, it was just the movie(s) I watched the most often across a year. I fell in love with The Fellowship of the Ring when I saw it at 10 in theatre, and I never came back. I know them by heart (both in French and English), and at this point putting them on just feels like coming home. It's the friendships, the hope through darkness, the love overcoming for me.

- Pride (2014)

This one's based on a true story, it's beautiful and touching and has a fantastic soundtrack of course. I watch it when I want an uplifting story but I still need to cry (usually the Bread and Roses scene or Joe and Stef sharing the bed does it, but if not? I always cry at the end), and it makes me feel better about what we can do together. I also really like the friendships in that movie, somehow they make me miss having that irl the most.

You know how they say the music you listen at 14/15 shapes your music tastes for life? That was the movie version for me. I was 15 when I saw it, and listen. Hear me out. Between Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, and Tilda Swinton (especially looking like this) ... well. I was very into it ok. I also love horror and supernatural so you know. I love the story, there is a really good sibling relationship (if sad), it has angels and demons and cross engraved bullets... it's an easy go-to when I want some action and fantastical stuffs.

It's a French jukebox musical about a murder, with a women-only cast for 99% of the movie. What not to love?? It's camp, the actresses are fantastic (it's an all star cast), I love the 50s feel of the whole thing, the songs are great, the characters are color coded ... Ootani and Tachibana have been together since high school, now in college they live together, installed in a comfortable routine until a high school classmate reappears in their life and things... become complicated. This one is just… warm, and simple, and quiet. It's just a slice of life, the conflicts can be a little silly but some feel more grounded, there is a clear and sweet happy end, it always warms me up. I've seen it for the first time 13 years ago and I still think about it regularly. Also the two songs are great and still on my playlists, and the fashion now feels delightfully out of date (Ootani's hair hello <3).

- Big Eden

I watched this one for the first time at a moment in my life where i was very lonely. I picked it up because I had seen some gifs on tumblr, I knew it had a happy ending, and I was starting to want to watch more story with adults. There are so many things to love in that beautiful movie, but usually I put it on for the warmth and acceptance of the community, for "Thing is, Pike, we want things to be nice for you, too, buddy." and the whole "Did we teach you shame?" speech and "I was just hoping you'd let yourself be found this time. I was hoping you'd let us find you. But you keep wandering and we can't." and just... yeah. This one is a comfort still when I feel lonely, or lost, removed from the people I love.

I was already a huge fan of the book and of Henry Selick's work when my dad took me to see it for my 18th birthday. It's a beautiful movie, visually, with an incredible score (by Bruno Coulais), and a very strong adaptation of the novel imo. It's a little creepy, but the good guys win at the end, I love Coraline as a character, and as I said it's just SO pretty to look at? I never get bored by it.

Hmm. Not long, because I've only actively participated in fandom since March 2023, if you're going by those standards.

I've loved Sanctuary since I first saw in 2016, but I didn't start writing for it (or really for any fandom) before 2022.

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)

Doctor Who.

I've never watched it or given it much thought, but apparently a lot of my mutuals love it. I've been seeing gif-sets, screenshots, jokes, and headcanons everywhere and I didn't even really know anything about it before I got on Tumblr.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Nikola Tesla from Sanctuary. (Sorry Regina).

When he was first introduced, he most definitely would have hurt and/or killed Helen to get what he wanted. No one can deny that. His reasons for joining them in Bhalasaam weren't exactly unselfish either.

I know there's a lot of he always loved her, but I don't think that's really the case, beyond it starting as infatuation with a woman he respected, admired, and cared about.

But through his arc you get to see him grow from a selfish bastard to someone who actually genuinely cares about the others and regrets his actions when his good intentions are turned against him, to the point where he does everything he can to fix it.

He grows from the selfish vampire to someone who cares beyond that one person (Helen) to everyone else and what they care about, though he wouldn't admit it.

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.

Henry Foss from Sanctuary. I think he'd just be a really good friend to have. A bit laid back, but incredibly loyal and a nerd. We could fan over things, build stuff, and play video games.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

Helen (Sanctuary) -- What's not to love? She's badass, determined, flawed, caring, bisexual, smart, mama bear, allergic to feelings. There's honestly so many reasons she's my favorite I can't think of them all.

Sam (Stargate SG-1) -- Probably for most of the reasons I listed Helen, honestly. She's incredibly smart, she's tough, she's in the military, she's a realistic female character in an almost completely male setting. She stands on her own, but is part of team she would die for.

Regina (Once Upon a Time) -- (I most certainly do not have a type) She has such a great character arc. She was a villain because of her trauma and wasn't stopped from doing the Big Bad that trauma fueled. She was very resistant to changing herself and her growth to a better person was on her terms. She's also tough and badass.

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.

I want to say dark! fics for some reason, but I'm not sure that's a trope. 🙈

Probably enemies-to-lovers. I've read a smattering of Sanctuary, Stargate, and Supernatural fics with them and I've enjoyed them immensely.

(I'm also a sucker for pregnancy fics, but those fall into way too many categories to straight up just say 'pregnancy fics').

BlueStar's Year In Review

Thought I might make a blog review post of sorts this year cause it seemed fun.

It's been a very fun year for me on here. I joined tumblr for the gifs, and for fan talk, back in 2015. I mainly focused on the Dominion, 12 Monkeys, and Supernatural shows. All of which have been off air for a while now but I've continued to find fandoms to latch onto, the latest being the Pedro Pascal character fandom.

I've only had good experiences with this fandom since I joined in, starting around July 2022 after finally watching The Mandalorian. I'd seen Pedro in other shows before, but that was the first role I really noticed him in (shame on my younger self for not paying more attention to Marcus Pike before).

Finding out Pedro was going to play Joel Miller in an HBO show that same month, after having discovered/watched the TLOU games in May/June 2022 and being a newfound fan of game Joel, it kinda felt like fate. And then going through most of Pedro's major movies and shows before and during the time The Last of Us show aired solidified my want to be part of the fandom.

This year has seen a shift in my blog in major ways in large part to the Pedro Pascal characters and fandom. It's still very much for reblogging gifs of my favorite characters/shows/movies, but I've now shifted to also being a very fanfic heavy blog, where before I was only posting and reading fics on fanfiction net.

I started writing fanfic for the first time in years because of Din in 2022, but it wasn't until Pedro's version of Joel in January that I started reading fanfic again (since SPN ended) and eventually started writing for other Pedro Pascal characters.

Through reading fanfic about these characters and writing for them I've truly immersed myself in a fandom again and it's been a wonderful distraction, especially with how stressful real life has been in recent years trying to find a job I can live with, and dealing with not liking where I am in life (I thought I'd have more by this age - my own house, family, etc.).

I'm really grateful for those who have had discussions with me and who have read my fics; those who reblogged and left comments and reaction gifs that made me smile (reaction gifs are so fun). While I do write for myself first, every note has given me a serotonin boost, and it has lead to me having my first ever post with 100 notes! (And it's for one of my favorite fics I've written Sweet Summer). Notes aren't everything, but they're worth celebrating! They make me feel like I'm a part of something and not just in the background. I like contributing.

It makes me sooo happy Rockford's in the top 5 cause that fic was very demanding and challenging for me. I've got a lot of WIPs written out in my drafts. Right now I'm going to be focusing on Baby Fever and The Writing Contest (the latter which will have the most chapters of any fic I've written in a long time) but I have several one shots I'm itching to write between their chapters, including another Sweet Summer oneshot sequel called The Weekend which will feature Steve, Connie, and Chucho - not sure how I've avoided writing them for so long when I loved them in show. It will also be based around one of my favorite things to write besides smut. Take a guess.

After Baby Fever is completed I'll be looking to start writing another series, this time for Dieter called Unknown which will share a bit of plot and humor with that Disney movie The Game Plan (hopefully - I don't write humor much) but Dieter-fied. It'll feature less sports and more romance and angst. My two greatest loves.

What was your favorite whump gif that you made this year?

Just answered this one here :D But because I can I'm going to share another favorite gifset of mine from this year. It's got some of my favorite whump and coloring this scene was a challenge but i love how it came out. I could stare at that shivering forever.

6. Can you tell us about any funny or unexpected moments that happened while making whump gifs?

This one is so interesting. Let me think. Funny or unexpected. Ummm. Well one of the things I love about giffing is that I can look at a whump scene literally frame by frame and sometimes I'll see things that I didn't notice before. Like when I was making this set from The Witcher I couldn't stop looking at Joey Batey's incredibly on the verge of tears acting and seeing it frame by frame was so intriguing I ended up making another gifset focusing on that alone and made this one. I love when that happens. When you find another gifset idea within a gifset you're already working on. That's always unexpected and I love it.

9. Are there any upcoming projects or goals you have in mind for next year in regards to whump gifs?

Yes!!! So many. I have a very long list of whump scenes I've always wanted to gif but haven't yet that I've been keeping for ages. One of my goals for 2024 is to tackle that. It's got things from Stargate, Supernatural, Merlin, Hawaii Five-0, Leverage, Once Upon a Time, Hallmark movies, Emergency!, The Hardy Boys, Simon and Simon, MacGyver, and SO MUCH MORE!

Another project I'm currently debating/thinking about is maybe making my own whump month challenge like whumptober or febuwhump but strictly designed for gifmakers. Since so many of the month challenges are writing focused I've been thinking about making one that is gif/visual art focused. Prompts that are easier for gifmaking, maybe share gifmaking tips and tricks, days with questions like this, etc. I'm not sure if I'll go through with this or not but it is something I'm thinking about.

And as for goals I still have a lot gifmaking tricks I want to learn or try out. I want to play more with layouts and blending and typography and really see what I can do. And continue to work on improving my coloring and brightening cause there's always more to learn and I love that.

10. Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring whump gif makers who may be just starting out in the community?

This is such a great question! Yes! To anyone out there who wants to gif but is afraid or intimidated or unsure, I have several pieces of advice for you.

For starters, gif things you like! If there's a whumpy scene you love and want gifs of, start there. It makes it so much more fun if you gif because YOU want to gif it and not because you think this particular scene will be popular or everyone else will like it. Don't focus on getting notes. I know getting notes is nice and I too want them because it means people like what I made and more people see them which is important too BUT if that's the only reason you make gifs you'll end up disappointed very quickly especially in this current fandom climate where no one reblogs things anymore. I keep giffing because I love the process and I gif things I love. Scenes and characters I love. That's where the fun is.

Don't worry about it looking absolutely perfect. Everyone starts somewhere and there's nowhere to go but up. Focus on just learning the basics of gifmaking and go from there. You gif does not need to look perfect for you to post it. I guarantee someone out there will like your gif!

You don't need photoshop to make gifs. There are a ton of online free programs you can use to learn how to make a gif that make it super simple and easy to learn. If you want to do more then photoshop is definitely the way to go but as a beginner it's totally easy and cool to use the online programs. It's a great way to see if you like making gifs.

Just go for it! Anyone can make gifs! So if you've been thinking about giving it a try, go for it!! It's fun!

The fact that she lets him is still interesting though, I think! She doesn't look scared to me. We know what Buffy looks like when she's scared and it's not this. She even tilts her chin up a little as his hand moves toward her jaw. So she's not disgusted either, at least not entirely. There may be a flicker of hatred in her gaze in that third gif, but Buffy here is calm, accepting, and maybe a little curious.

If Spike is already acting as her shadow in the series, I think this shows an innate knowledge she is supposed to be the one. Buffy is a supernatural creature herself, strong enough to fight any and all creatures of darkness. She's been put under spells countless times and many times is able to break out of them (though, sometimes with a lot of help).

Maybe I'm reaching here. It's been a LONG time since I've seen this particular episode and I just woke up. But Spike's role on the show is usually to show Buffy the truth about herself or the people/world around her, often through antagonizing her. And he's doing it here, even if they both don't fully know it because of the spell. And in this particular case, Buffy is responsive to it because she wants it to be true because she is the Chosen One, and the only one who still sees it is her shadow.

It seemed like, no matter where they were or what they were doing, Linda’s mother would always talk about flowers and their meanings.  Like a rose could mean fidelity and love.  A simple white lily could mean purity or sweetness. And even a dahlia flower could mean instability… 

2.) Back in Black, my unpublished Supernatural oc, Elizabeth Winchester, fanfic.

“It’s okay, Sammy” Liz spoke softly, just like her mother showed her when Sam was too fussy. “What a good big sister you are Do you take care of Sam a lot?” Azazel asks interested. His bright yellow eyes gleamed, looking as if he had an idea.  The two-year-old child in turn smiled big and nodded. “ I love taking care of Sammy, and helping Mommy with him” Liz replied happily.  “I have something to give Sam, would you like to help me?” Azazel asked with a smirk.

Ben looked up and felt himself tensing up again, trying to brace himself for the interrogation he was probably about to face. But, it didn’t come, instead, Benny was examining the newest cuts on his hands. “Alright bud, let’s get these cuts cleaned up, thankfully they don’t look like they need stitches,” Benny said while he led Ben to the sink in the kitchen.

4.) Cosmic Twins: Chapter Two, my MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy oc, Kevin Quill, fic that's probably the only one posted out of my WIPS 💀 God this gif I inserted below is so old 😳 That tells you how long it's been since I've even worked on him or his fic 😥

“I don’t wanna say I told you so, but I told you so…” Kevin grumbled with an annoyed huff, crossing his arms. 

5.) Set Fire to Rain(Book 2 from my The Walking Dead Oc series featuring my oc, Everleigh Horvath) Have I even posted or written chapter one out of book one? Absolutely not but do I still write some quick scenes that stick out to me that I wanna add into the future? Yes... yes I do. So, this is why this one is longer than the others lmao.

As Daryl started to walk away from her and Rick, Eve, in a quick desperate attempt to stop him from moving, grabbed onto his arm, pulling him back towards her, making him turn around to meet her eyes.  Eve couldn’t fathom him leaving her side, their family’s side now after what they had all already been through together.  “Daryl please don’t…wha-what about us? Eve asked, staring into the other man's eyes in a silent plea. They haven’t even talked about what they had yet, not even had a chance anyway. About the small meaningful touches, sharing a bed to keep the nightmares away, or even the other night of shared passion.   Daryl refused to meet her gaze still, ever since Merle had forced his way back into their group’s life he hadn’t looked at her.  He then roughly yanked his arm away from Eve’s grasp, which in turn made her stumble forward a bit from the force.  “We aren’t anything…you were just some quick fuck” Daryl spat, meaning to be spitful as he finally looked into Eve’s eyes.  But, Eve could see that he didn’t mean it…there was guilt in his eyes and regret in his voice.
