We need to bring back Gun Batman immediately where the FUCK is he
titans of tomorrow
aftermath:
#while I have many problems with Titans of Tomorrow it's actually the arc that made me really like Tim#specifically because Gun Batman made sense for Tim. up until that point he tended to prioritize outcomes over the process of getting there#leading him to piss off a lot of people and being an asshole. but it never escalated to murder (unless we count that time he was drugged#which I don't but it's fair) until we see Gun Batman. and it's an escalation but not one that feels like much of a stretch (unlike others)#and the shit Tim does?? so fucking interesting throughout but obviously the standout moment is when he's like 'what if I kill myself'#and he WOULD HAVE DONE IT if he wasn't interrupted. we see both sides of Tim. there is ruthlessness and there is self-sacrifice#and they are NOT diametrically opposed. I think Gun Batman stuck with me so much because he and Tim are so much alike#they are both willing to give all of themself and make sacrifices for a goal they truly believe in. Just in different ways#not to mention how much more interesting it makes literally all of Tim's stuff after that. Many of the future selves were very ooc so I#did not care. but Tim?? I was watching that fucker like a hawk. He kept doing shady shit and I was like 'oooh he's being like Gun Batman'#with the pinnacle of that vibe being Red Robin. where he is tap-dancing over what is and isn't villainy + just at the end of his rope#and we (arguably because technically we don't know but...come on) see his nature escalate to the point of murder#I was like 'omg THIS IS IT!! GUN BATMAN!!! HE'S BACK BABY!!' which only got more reinforced as he made a#HIT LIST and was a dick to everyone around him and set up a fucking Saw trap for Captain Boomerang#...and then the universe reset. lmao. Gun Batman was gone. Sad day for me. I lost my favorite version of Tim + the reason it was my fave#...EXCEPT THEN HE CAME BACK!!!!! He was not the same and base Tim was a very different character but it was still Gun Batman#and Gun Batman remembers EVERYTHING and is like 'hey you remember this guy? don't ask if I shot him. you don't? damn universe is fucked#anyways I'm gonna go kill some people. hope a long period of time in isolation didn't fuck you up too bad. see ya!'#and then fucked off until he came back with the DUMBEST FUCKING NAME and that's how you know he came up with it himself#Tim is incapable of naming himself it's why he kept the name Red Robin because the times we've seen him name himself#it's been SAVIOR and DRAKE#and then he left?? idk he hasn't been back yet. I hope he comes back from hypertime and this time he's a bit more pointed

Crime Alleys Savior
DP x DC Prompt
Around the same time as Batman appearing, a mysterious man had begun to make changes to Park Row, aka Crime Alley, in Gotham. The man had an uncanny feel to him, but what he was doing was genuinely helping the people who live in Crime Alley.
Crime Alley had changed when Robin had come under the Bats wing. Crime Alley was no longer the dingy rundown place it was, instead, it became a lively place that is under the protection of the man who changed it.
The man even took in a kid, a local Crime Alley kid, one Jason Todd. He teaches Jason, as well as other kids, self-defense against adults who think they can take them hostage to use as leverage against Batman. During the night, two new vigilantes stalk the night along with Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. Cardinal and Nightingale, a Meta Adult man who has powers similar to an old children's cartoon and a boy just a few years younger than Robin.
Nightingale had reformed some of the Rogues of Gotham. Kiteman isn't a Rogue anymore. He is now an Ally to Nightingale because Nightingale had somehow got the Ghost of his dead son to be with the man, Waylon Jones wears an Amulet to be human again, but when Nightingale needs him, all he has to do is take off the Amulet and help the man who made human again. Nora Fries is no longer sick, something Nightingale did had cured her from her illness, so now Mr. Freeze, aka Victor Fries, is working with the man who is the savior of Crime Alley to make a new clean energy source for Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing to be less hostile. Nightingale even made Harley Quinn realize that Joker abuses her and only cares about making Batman break his no killing rule.
On the day side of Gotham, Bruce Wayne had recently announced that he has a biological son along with his newly adopted son, so Damian Wayne and Richard "Dick" Grayson-Wayne are bonding much earlier than Canon. Timothy Drake has been outed to be living alone for a while by a mysterious source. Needless to say that the Drakes have been losing money and renown steadily, with Timothy becoming a Wayne when Bruce took him in, Cass will soon also be part of the Wayne family with Stephanie becoming Jason's sister, the Thomas family, along with many others were saved by Nightingale and Mr. Freeze when they found developed a cure to the Joker Gas.
Danny had fled his home dimension after he revealed his identity when he saved the planet from the Disasteroid. His parents didn't accept him, and neither did Valerie. The GIW had become too powerful when Vlad wasn't monitoring them, same with the Ghost Hunting team Vlad hired, the Masters Blasters.
Danny had arrived in Gotham after Clockwork sent him here as a sort of "Training Mission" for his Ghost King duties a few years later. Needless to say that he was pretty shocked and excited to see that his favorite comics were real (and petty that in this world, his life is a children's cartoon that is better than the life he lived). He's in Crime Alley, making it a better place to live in.
Danny had subjugated the League of Assassins by killing Ra's Al Ghul. The old Fruitloop had wanted immortality, and being a Ghost is technically being an immortal being. He made the League of Assassins into the League of Shadows, and they help the world by his orders and not Ra's orders. The Court of Owls will soon be in a war with the League of Shadows that won't affect Gotham much if it goes well.
Danny had taken in Jason when he saw that the boy was almost about to take the tires of the Batmobile because he knows that Jason's path will inevitably reach the one where he dies in that warehouse. Danny was the one to reveal the living situation Tim was in to the public. He's even helped reform some Rogues as his new Vigilante persona. It took a while to find Kiteman's son's ghost for him to be reformed. And healing Nora was pretty easy when he asked Frostbite to look at the woman. His experience with Sam has made managing Poison Ivy somewhat easy. He just needs to spread his Ectoplasm fueled things around to make the world a lot less polluted for both Ivy and Swamp Thing. He found some artisans in the Infinite Realms/Ghost Zone to make an inverse of Aragon and Dorothea's Amulets for Waylon Jones. He even used some of the stuff Jazz rambled to him about psychology to get Harley to see that Joker doesn't really care about her.
Danny doesn't know if Jazz, Sam, and Tucker are alright. He just hopes that they are, and they'll come to him when they make it to the Ghost Zone.

Thinking about rap as a technical artform and rap as a cultural artform, with respect to Tumblr's incompetence at dealing with either. Tumblr can just barely grasp the former because, like all forms of Black music, it's been repackaged in various ways that are more palatable to to white audiences. I talked last month about how what Tumblr was calling rap while trying to defend its taste in music is more akin to filk songs, but I should admit, sometimes Tumblr cites people who actually rap. It doesn't fix the problem or absolve them of their bullshit, but it is true.
The failure then becomes an inability to recognize or care about how rap functions culturally.
People on Tumblr will take Dungeon Meshi and intricately pick apart how a single chapter connects back to real-world neurodivergence issues and the cultural differences between the West and the East when it comes to handling them, and then look at any given rap song and assume it's skin-deep. Unless it's Hamilton back in the late 2010s, before we all decided it was cringe, in which case they'll gladly dig into the history of the early USA and, like the play itself, sidestep the racism whenever possible.
Take Weird Al, one of the many names that's been thrown around in Kendrick and Drake's wake. Weird Al is technically a rapper. He has done rap. We cannot ignore that as a factual statement. He's not even that bad as a rapper. But he has no engagement with rap as a cultural object; he engages with the artform as a parodist. "Amish Paradise", probably Weird Al's most popular rap parody, doesn't say anything; it's here to riff on a religious minority. But you dig into it just a little and you can see the kind of complexity that Tumblr usually loves to talk about. The song is, after all, a parody of Coolio's Grammy-winning "Gangster's Paradise", which is literally about being a black man in an environment dominated by organized crime and fearing the constant threat of death in that life, but was also created specifically for the movie Dangerous Minds, a middling white savior movie about Michelle Pfeiffer teaching a bunch of bad stereotypes of what people think inner city non-white students are. A movie that was, in turn, based on a white woman's memoirs about teaching in a bad school near San Francisco. You've got this interplay between a white woman's real-life efforts to teach her black and Latino students (I can't speak to how effective she was, mind you), a fictionalized version of that same woman being shown as the sole guiding light for her underdeveloped gangbanging students - and a white actress's crappy Kipling-ass 5/10 film getting Coolio his Grammy. It was tailor-made to be Coolio's big hit with white audiences, getting the push of Michelle Pfeiffer, having slow and deliberate rapping, and lacking the swearing in most of Coolio's oeuvre (Stevie Wonder mandated no swearing in return for letting Coolio sample his music). And, though I suspect this was unintentional, the song plays into the same narrative that the movie does, how this rapper is doomed to his life because "nobody's there to teach [him]", with dramatic choir and strings underscoring the dire fate that awaits this rapper if some charitable white person doesn't help him - the same dramatic choir and strings that Weird Al uses for comedic effect by comparing it to Amish farmwork.
I put that last paragraph together with two or three hours of Wikipedia, and you can do the same kind of analysis with a lot of hit rap songs (and Genius is right there if you need a helping hand - I wouldn't have understood much of Kendrick's Euphoria without it), and I think this drives a lot of my frustration? Tumblr loves to see something cool and then take a few days to write an in-depth post about how cool it is under the surface. So the lack of this when it comes to rap does show a deep disinterest in thinking about it when it isn't fun. And there's so much cool shit to learn about rap. Did you know that Baby Got Back was inspired by the anti-black fatphobia Sir Mixalot's model girlfriend was dealing with in her industry, and was pushing back against the media's general preference for skinny white women? Did you know that there's a Turkish hip-hop scene specifically in Germany because, as a minority that was brought to the country for cheap labor and then forced to exist as second-class citizens, they ended up relating a lot to the music? Just. Dig a bit. There's so much.

WIP excerpt for Waywren Truesong behind the cut, who asked for "shenanigans" along the lines of "lies, identity porn, kidnappings of dubious virtue, or just plain misunderstandings" for Tim(ber)kon and is getting "stray cat strut". content warnings: setting where it is considered socially acceptable to keep sapient species as "pets" or "working animals". (( chrono || non-chrono ))
Yeah, he’s gonna resist the temptation to sneak a pic of the hot cat for Bernard. Unfortunately, having ethics has once again proven itself to be an annoying inconvenience in his life.
Though probably he should avoid saying it like that around Bruce if it ever comes up. Bruce is still annoyed about the last time Gun Batman was in the time period. Or “Savior”, or whatever other incredibly psychologically-concerning name the asshole’s going by this time.
Honestly at this point, Tim would take just about any option for a codename that did not in any way contain the name “Robin”, but he absolutely draws the line at both “Batman” and “Savior”. Those ones are just . . . not happening, thanks. Like, ever. Cass and Damian can deal with Batman; he’s going to figure out . . . he doesn’t know, a Nightwing or an Oracle or something. Possibly a Huntress or a Red Hood, if it comes to it.
. . . statistically, probably a Red Hood, yeah. If nothing else, he does keep kinda-accidentally stealing Jason's old ID's. Like it’s never been planned or anything, just–
“You are staring, Drake,” Damian says dubiously. Which is the third time he’s “Drake”-d him in this conversation, and the second since he’s noticed him staring at the rescue cat, so . . . yeah, Damian is absolutely in a mood today, and clearly getting even more so. Not even a single halfhearted sneer of “Timothy” to be seen.
Tim should really be more concerned about that fact, given “being concerned about Damian” is the literal entire reason he’s even at this event to begin with, but the rescue cat’s tail is currently swishing absolutely goddamn hypnotically from side to side, and that is . . . extremely distracting, yeah. Like . . . very distracting.
Jeeeeesus, look at him.
Tim actually doesn’t even want to take a picture of him anymore. His cell phone camera could not possibly do this rescue cat justice, and he is not saying that because his cell phone camera is in any way a bad or even mediocre cell phone camera; he just needs an actual camera and like, maybe a ring light or something. Actually, no, he wants to put together a full three-point lighting setup and get the rescue cat inside it, which is not even something he really used to do, he was always way more into taking candid shots and outdoor photography in general, not actually–
“Drake,” Damian says in exasperation, and Tim startles.
“Uh,” he says, trying not to wince.
“Either intervene in the situation or cease this undignified behavior,” Damian says, obviously irritated, and Tim–pauses.
“The ‘situation’?” he repeats.
“The cat's agitation, obviously,” Damian says. “Or do you think I am just unimpressed with the incredibly limited selection of vegetarian hors d'oeuvres at this event?”
“. . . I feel like you definitely are, though,” Tim says, and Damian rolls his eyes.
“Tt,” he says. “Cats and dogs make up eighty-five percent of the attending rescue pets. Cats are obligate carnivores and dogs are facultative carnivores. Obviously the event’s catering should cater more strongly towards meat-based diets. Frankly the total lack of options to please an insectivore is more offensive. At least some range of an herbivore-appropriate selection is available.”
Tim stares blankly at him. He debates pointing out that there is next to no chance that anyone running this event at any point thought about the pets’ food preferences over the potential donors’, but he's supposed to be keeping Damian from starting shit with anyone, not giving him valid reasons to.
“Why do you think the cat’s upset?” he asks, figuring changing the subject is the better part of valor. “He looks fine.”
Actually the rescue cat looks like he’s in his element and thriving, all leaned in towards the group of potential donors with a charming grin and flirty expression, his tail still swishing back and forth in the same hypnotic pattern.
Damian gives him an absolutely withering look, then tilts his head towards the rescue cat.
“His tail is lashing,” he says matter-of-factly. “That is a negative response in feline pets. He has also been holding it in a particularly low position and has curled it around his thighs twice. He is displaying clear signs of stress and attempted self-soothing behaviors.”
“Uh,” Tim says.
“If you are ignorant of the nuances of feline body language, why are you observing the situation so closely?” Damian asks, eyeing him suspiciously.
Tim would sooner die than answer that question honestly, thanks.
“I was trying to remember the PR rep’s name,” he lies. Damian gives him another one of the withering looks he’s so effectively–and annoyingly–mastered.
“Tana Moon,” he says. “She is thirty-one years old. She was born in Hawaiʻi and attended college at Metropolis University. She secured an externship at WGBS during her senior year and severed the relationship before completion for unidentified ‘personal reasons’, returned to Hawaiʻi after graduation and was a reporter there for KONA-TV for five years and an anchor for two. She left KONA-TV three years ago for, again, unidentified ‘personal reasons’, and has been employed by Paradise Rescue as their sole publicist ever since. She took a thirty-four percent pay cut to accept the position.”
“. . . Damian,” Tim says slowly. “You know you can just, like . . . not run a background check on literally everyone on the guest list of every single event you ever attend in your life, right?”
“Moon is not on the guest list,” Damian says. “She is staff.”
“Right, yeah,” Tim says, putting a hand over his face. “Point stands, alright?”
“We are in Gotham, Drake,” Damian retorts witheringly, giving him a look so unimpressed that it nearly deals psychic damage, then links his hands together behind his back and walks past him towards Moon and the rescue cat and the little knot of people they’re in front of. Tim, in one crystal-clear instant, thinks about the potential donors in said knot of people, the pets of those potential donors, the rescue cat’s lashing tail, and Damian’s very matter-of-fact and black-and-white opinions of people who cause “negative responses” in pets, and immediately rushes after him while looking as little like he’s rushing as humanly–or Robin-ly–possible.
He just really does not want to be cited in the next entry in Damian’s incident binder, alright? Or get any more entirely unfair footnotes added to his own either.
Seriously, he’s already filed enough appeals to the ones he’s got in the Batcomputer. He really doesn’t feel like writing up any more.
He really doesn’t feel like writing up any more if the sentence “no really, I totally had a logical reason for brainlessly staring at that really attractive rescue cat and his pretty, pretty laugh and GORGEOUS grin and that shiny little earring and the jumpsuit that he fills out so improbably well” needs to be contained in any of them.

I need more Tim Drake going back in time AU's
I have so many ideas but no writing talent, but ik ppl on here do so ideas I need done in fics
Tim dies from something sad and horrific all alone, his last words? He's sorry he failed them, of course! His regret is so strong that he's given a second chance!
Tim goes back to being 7. Why? I think it'd be funny
Tim decides he will not physically interact with the Batfam but become "Crow," an informant that solves cases, gathers physical evidence in recordings and photos, and info about Damien, Cass, Steph and any harmful events like Ethiopia.
Tim, cuz he's a little shit, fucks with the League while he attempts to convince Talia to give Damien to Bruce, this causes Ra's to take an interest.
This interest got his computers blown up, and now there is a small grudge where Tim gets stabbed by an assassin who's sent to bring him to Ra's, Tim loses his spleen at 14 whoops.
His parents just so happen to die a week later. He fakes his uncle once again.
He does seek out Shiva to help Cass earlier, and he teaches her a few things before she's taken away (she escapes just a few weeks later to Bruce).
A quick timeline: Steal Damian (Tim is 10 and Damien is around 4), Save Jason (Tim, 12, Jason, 15), Cass (Tim is 11 and Cass is 14)
He's a full-blown vigilante by 11, and no one knows. He's been doing his stalker behaviors since 7, and now he's actually fighting crime.
He goes by Crow, but people nickname his work as "Crow's Omen"
He's figured out at 17 after Bruce is lost in time and fighting the Council of Spiders
Bruce randomly sees him watching in a tree by Wayne manor after he returns and goes, "That's my savior? Ha, more like my child, " and kidnaps him

Thanks for listening to my rant on a feral shadow vigilante, Tim. That's so dumb and thinks the best way to save his family is to work in the shadows.

Can we like talk about other cool things that kendrick lamar has done other than just kill drake
That's all this fucking website is talking about
Like how about we talk about lucifer is the music industry in TPaB
Or how DAMN. talks about how glorified violence is in XXX.
Or maybe in DNA. when he says "Shit I've been through probably offend you" first of all talking about his experiences but also black people in general
Or any of section.80
Or hiIipower
Or just The Blacker Berry where he's talking about how he's seen as a savior of black culture but he's a hippocrit and he makes that known
Like anything else
I understand that it was culturally important but all of his other shit is too

fan fact the only canonical world where tim is happy like batman is the future where he and cass are married and share the title
this is from solo #10, last story, written and pencilled by damion scott who was the first main artist of cass's run
THANK YOU FOR THIS OH MY GOD I WANT TO KISS YOU ON THE MOUTH.
i KNEW there was an Elseworlds story i had read where they ended up together!!!! but researching got me NOTHING and i half convinced myself i hallucinated it. i've always made the joke i think it's so funny Tim is the only Robin who's been with all of the Batgirls (Steph in the main timeline, Babs in the Arkhamverse, and Cass in this comic) but when i was trying to find it i doubted myself because i could find NO trace when looking it up, just reference to canon comics where CassTim was heavily implied. damn near gaslit myself.
anyways this whole thing makes me unwell. because i'm of the firm belief Tim could never be happy if he stayed a vigilante his whole life, *especially* if he became Batman. because that is canonically one of his worst fears. it's why i like Tim Drake of Tomorrow (Savior) so much, because it's a personification of those fears and the sort of proof that Tim becoming Batman would set him on a hyper-paranoid overly controlling path he wouldn't come back from. but? the idea that Tim could be happy and healthy as Batman if he was sharing the mantle with Cass? that makes *so* much sense. they represent very different aspects of Batman ('the noble detective' and 'the vengeful knight' pretty aptly display that) and her drivenness and dedication to the Bat as a symbol would be the thing that keeps Tim from falling over that edge. it'd keep him from self-isolating (a thing Tim is known to do when he's falling down a paranoid spiral) and keep him steady. meanwhile he would ground her, make sure she knows she's not alone. that's my only real gripe with Cass as Batman, is that she shouldn't be so alone and 'one man army' the way Bruce is. she needs to keep her support system she worked so hard for. she needs someone to remind her that she's human and treating herself like a weapon 24/7 isn't sustainable, something Tim has tried to get through to her. they're just so good at balancing each other out and DC would never go in the direction of exploring them again, but there was a time it really felt like we were on the cusp of them flourishing as a couple and tbh, i almost feel like we missed out.
#necrotic answerings#casstim#timcass#batcest#seriously thank you sm this was fucking bugging me#almost managed to convince myself i made this comic up.#damion scott come back to working on batgirl <3#casstim they could never make me hate you.#is it like. an endgame ship for either of them in my opinion?#eh i mean it could be#i don't really have an endgame ship for cass other than the futile hope we'll get koncass back#and my top ship for tim is *tam fox* of all people which shocks me as much as I imagine it shocks others#but like? it is really good and i would support it being brought back#it never will. god the backlash it would face. but i think there's so many layers to what they could be.#i'm going to go rot and think about tim and cass sharing the batman mantle now. ty. gn.

Dick Grayson-centric Fic Recs!
Surface Pressure by geminus_17
Study on being the (not perfect) eldest and the sacrifices that go along with it. Mentions of Tarantula and Blockbuster. A very satisfying read! Here's a sample from the fic:
“So I must calm down Todd lest he relinquish my sword,” Damian mused. “But how do I calm down a magically homicidal maniac?”
Ask Bruce , Dick didn’t say. Bruce would only ask him and be ten times more awkward about it. “It seems he’s stressed about the uptick in crime…Maybe you should help him get Crime Alley under control.” Dick held his breath because Damian always came to him when he wanted advice but the kid only took it if he thought he came up with it. A lot like his father.
Savior Complex by Arwriter
In which Dick goes nonverbal after Bruce comes back, but nobody notices! Everyone in the Batfam treats Dick unfairly, but after the hurt there is very satisfying comfort!
“He’s being a child.” And then Jason was staring right at him, and Dick couldn’t bring himself to look away. “We have the right to be pissed at you after everything that happened, Dickhead. Things are weird right now, if anyone should get that it’s you. The least you could do is admit you fucked up with Tim and give us all some time. Ignoring everyone to try and make us feel like shit isn’t fair. You know damn well Bruce has enough on his plate right now, and I don’t have time for your bullshit either. No one does.”
Home Again, Jiggity Jig by Living_Free
A comedy/crack fic that also works as a fix-it! Set during the whole "Ric" Grayson amnesia mess. One of the funniest fics I've ever read, can't recommend it enough! (Two samples because I'm obsessed:)
/Damian sat up to look at Dick. “Not even I? Forgetting Todd or Drake, even Father, is understandable. But I? Our bond transcends the stars, you said so yourself!”
Jason mimed retching onto Tim’s head./
/“Be of calm mind, Grayson,” Damian said. “Todd is merely projecting his insecurities that no one will hold his hand onto us.”
“That’s not true, son,” Bruce said, and then held Jason’s hand. Jason nearly died on the spot, becuase his dad was holding his hand in public, oh my god, people can see./
One Thousand, Three Hundred and Nine Hours by TheSilencer
Literally one of the best fics I've ever read. Basically the rest of the batfam are trapped in a time loop that ends with Dick's death, and the story is told from Dick's POV on the timeline he gets saved! Be warned, there is light(?) gore.
The older man sighed and pulled down the cowl. "It has been suggested to me that I'm demanding too much. That having you check in at least once an hour is -"
"Ridiculous?" Dick asked. "Absurd? An excessive show of paranoia?"
Bruce's lip twitched up. "A bit much."
what's past is prologue by Icestorm238
A time-travel fic where Dick goes back to his post-Robin but pre-Jason's arrival self, with the goal of saving Jason. Incredible dynamic between Dick and Jason that's just so sweet to read, and interesting plot twists and reversals that I won't spoil ;)
Dick struggles to temper his excitement when Jason opens up to him about his love of literature. That had never happened the first time - he’d found out second hand from Alfred, hadn’t thought much about it, hadn’t realised just how important books were to Jason, hadn’t cared to learn back then. When Jason returned to them it had been treated as a known hobby, and still not one he shared with Dick.

Omg I JUST Found your blog (and have spent the last few minutes obsessively taking in content) your art style is soooo cool!!!
Ummmm soooooo whoes your favorite robin? (If you even have one) 👀
I can’t have a favorite Robin because they’re all amazing. For now, my hyperfixation is on Tim Drake, but if I had to rank them, the list would look like this:
(I apologize in advance—I’m about to share opinions that some people might not like. Either way, I’d be happy to discuss them in the comments without judgment. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about anything!)
1. Tim Drake
(Although I feel like I still have a lot to learn about him.)
2. Dick Grayson
(I think what bothers me most about him is that he’s the most sexualized character of the group. I know this because he’s the only character I’ve been asked to draw in NSFW situations so far. That puts me off a bit, but I still like the bond he creates within the family. Even when he’s not at his best, he always offers a helping hand to anyone who needs it.)
3. Jason Todd
(Sorry, ladies, but I think he’s a bit overrated. Yes, he has the most tragic backstory, and he’s certainly been through hell, but he feels like a character built solely to suffer. I fully understand his personality and everything he does to keep going, but the overemphasis on Jason’s trauma overwhelms me. I still have a lot to learn about him, though. Maybe my issue with Jason is how his character is romanticized, even though he’s always been a victim. Or maybe it’s just triggering for me. I think I lack any savior complex, which is why I don’t connect much with his character.)
4. Damian Wayne
(I don’t understand his fandom.)
(I’m only including these four because I don’t know much about the others.)

atp i probably sound pretentious but yall are really starting to piss me off. do you understand that this space isn’t for you? that you being allowed here is a kindness not something you’re entitled to? every time somebody takes time out of their day to make you a cheat sheet they’re being nice? for you this probably started two days ago when you noticed it was trending, but this has been going on for years for the other people in this space. black people, black women specifically, have been trying to tell yall abt drake for YEARS. but as usual you didn’t listen. some of you started paying attention when he was around billie eilish and milly bobby brown bc of course that’s when you chose to care but eventually you stopped caring abt that too. but now bc it’s a trending moment and you have the opportunity to look good you care??? and even though most people didn’t go into the tag of your savior, taylor swift to cause hate, you are not showing the same respect now that it’s black people. this is a funny joke for a lot of you but to so many others this is vindication. this is justice in the only way we can get it bc law enforcement has never cared about the exploitation of black women. if you don’t care mind your business. if you don’t like kendrick mind your business. if you don’t want to see this on your tl block the tag and mind your business.
#kendrick lamar#we’re sick of your shit.#i’m sleep deprived and someone in the tag made a fucking essay abt how we’re bad people for caring abt this

Feels like the beef is over. Possible Kendrick album drop on the horizon. He even went and lifted copyright claims over any video that uses his four diss tracks since him and his team knew the fire they started over the weekend and that this would go a long way in helping out reactors, edit channels, dissection channels and more.
With the (likely) end of this feud, investigations need to begin. If Kendrick has proper receipts over his allegations, it needs to see the light of day and I hope it's soon. Rap disses is one thing—these are predator accusations that need to be met with the proper gravity. Given his relations with Baka and the stories in Toronto cropping up of his activities, I feel at the very least confident that there will be things Drake needs to address. And address them soon.
But I also want to discuss the (possible) last diss. The Heart Part 6.
A pathetic attempt to steal a title from Kendrick's own series of singles "The Heart Parts I-V". Songs that Kendrick has utilized to give introspection regarding the industry, his masculinity, depression, his savior complex and so much more. And Drake uses that title for what exactly?
Not a brutal response. Not a catchy summer bop.
He sounds defeated. His lyrics are incoherent, going from saying he planted that false information, to also saying that those who planted it are clowns and fakes. He dismisses and ridicules Kendrick's "Mother, I Sober" song, a story about Kendrick being harassed and SA. Except, as I have since corrected myself over thanks to others on here, that the entire song is him saying the assault never happened and no one believes him. So not only did Drake contradict his claims in one song, he showed his illiteracy.
And Kendrick doesn't respond like he does with Family Matters. When Drake dropped FM, Kendrick immediately invalidated an entire seven minute track by dropping his own response, a haunting meet the grahams, within thirty minutes. A malicious dissection and mock therapy session between him and every member of the Grahams, including Drake's alleged hidden daughter. And finishes the blow by dropping Not Like Us in less than a day, a certified summer hit that has already been played over and over again across the world. When Drake stans accused him of making boring, sleep-causing disses because they were too deep and complex, Kendrick dropped all pretense and released a song produced by DJ Mustard himself to bluntly call Drake and his posse predators while making everyone, including Drake's own base, to dance to the beat.
And we return to Drake's last response. More dislikes than likes. Boring. Lacking the pettiness and replayability that previous disses possessed. A sad, final attempt at a defense and Kendrick doesn't seem to bother responding.
Instead, it seems he leaves it up to the public now. Let them do the rest of the work.
I have to ask one final time.
What made Drake think it was a smart idea to go bar for bar in a lyrical war against a man who won a Pulitzer and has more than three times the amount of Grammy's he does?
RIP Drake, I guess. Didn't realize your entire legacy would be destroyed on a club beat. Ironic, actually.
#kendrick lamar#drake#music#hip hop#the beef seems to be over#a decade long cold war ended on a hot day with the hottest summer beat#poetic really

elias!
while his childhood friends are off trying to see who can save the spiral harder, better, faster, stronger than the other, elias has a significantly more laidback time at ravenwood following monstrologist burke around researching the different creatures of the spiral. he never takes anything too seriously, much to the dismay of professor cyrus drake, who's never been able to get under elias's skin no matter how hard he might try. if anything, elias tends to get under cyrus's skin, often playing pranks and practical jokes on his professor to entertain his classmates and make them feel more at ease in class. the peoples princess and everyone's favorite upperclassman! following his friends' employment to the arcanum, elias was offered to come be an assistant myth scholar of sorts, but has his own specialty in monstrology. he doesn't have his own office in the panopticon, no, but has a small dedicated space ... somewhere, where he would be more than happy to either show you the ropes of monstrology or just give you a crash course on the different fauna of the spiral.
elias is a fraternal triplet, with two sisters: navi and shanna. the three siblings were always close growing up, always getting in trouble for getting into places they shouldn't be, or getting lost in the vast mirage desert but not caring because they always had eachother. thank god for the teleportation they were able to master after getting lost for the dozenth time. unfortunately, at ravenwood, navi wasn't able to garner the same confidence and carefree-ness as her brother in the myth class, and was recruited by the cabal when she was noted to be vulnerable and also have an indirect connection to the spiral's infamous saviors. navi's affiliation with the organization was a hinderance to elias's recruitment to the arcanum, but now just remains a trivial, side-eye-able-at-times truth.

Hey, so I just discovered you and loved all of your rants,
I was curious on your opinion of future evil gun batman Tim, if one was to portray him in a fan fic, what would be the best way to do so?
🥺 You like my rants?
Aaaah, future evil gun batman. Batman of Tomorrow! Savior! (bleh)
Some background on Evil Gun Batman and the Titans of Tomorrow: Titans of Tomorrow is an alternate reality where the Teen Titans had an adventure where they met their evil future selves and swore never to become them, deciding to disband the team to prevent it.
This is the very thing that causes the evil future to begin with. That, and also the great "Crisis" that occurs in their timeline where many of earth's major heroes like Batman and Wonder Woman die. The world goes to shit and the USA is split into East and West. The former Teen Titans regrouped and established a base of operations at their previous Titans Tower HQ in San Francisco.
I have actually written from Batman of Tomorrow's perspective before. I think the biggest thing to bear in mind when portraying Evil Gun Batman Tim Drake is to bear in mind this is Tim at his Literally Actual Lowest Point. If Tim loosing Conner and Bruce was Tim at rock bottom, Evil Gun Batman is Tim getting a shovel and tunneling BELOW rock bottom.
Evil Gun Batman Tim is a Tim Drake who has lost all hope. He's lost MUCH more people, and has grown pessimistic.
Evil Gun Batman has taken on a "for the greater good" / "the ends justify the means" attitude. I would argue his fear of loosing more loved ones has given him control issues that drive him to murder, torture, the creation of a police state, and all sorts of OTHER unethical actions.
And he's notably not under any impression that what he's doing it moral. He knows it's not. But he does believe it's right. He believes they can no longer afford to be moral. He thinks idealistic views of heroism like "killing is wrong" are... cute. Childish. He sees himself as having "grown up" - sensible, practical.
He's not "kind," but he speaks very gently. Very understanding, but... condescending.
There's... also this. The gun is the same one that killed the Waynes, which... to be fair, he has... because Bruce kept it. They're... similar brands of messed up. Normal Tim has a similarly morbid desire for connection; Red Robin Tim purchased the theater where the Waynes died to renovate into a home and base of operations, something Prime Earth reset out of existence and didn't do anything with. And I could see some connection between Evil Gun Batman using the Waynes' murder weapon to Red Robin Tim taking on the "tainted" Red Robin mantel.
He also made memorial cases for the deceased, similar to Jason's memorial. He's very sentimental, self-torturously so.
The next time we see Evil Gun Batman, he's more... insistent on Tim becoming him. Conner and Bart are dead, it's suggested this is a change to their timeline, but Evil Gun Batman successfully cloned Conner AND Bart - which explains why "Bart" is more evil this time around. Their timeline's in jeopardy, Evil Gun Batman is AFRAID that he's going to loose everything he's worked for and the risk of loosing Conner and Bart again is a driving motivator for him. He's PUSHY at this point.
He's also working with Lex in this new timeline - unclear if he was before, at least Evil Superman Conner had been. Lex helped him clone Conner and Bart. This depicts Lex as more of the mastermind behind Tim, someone who swooped in and picked up his pieces and gave Tim a renewed since of direction in a hopeless world.
I imagine their relationship to be similar to Tim and Ra's al Ghul in Red Robin, at least initially - Tim not fully trusting Lex, but willing to work with him to pursue his own goals, and slowly breaking down his own morals one by one along the way.
This version of Lex was more Attached to the concept of Conner and treated Clone Conner as a son.
Also, due to timeline shenanigans, the Teen Titans roster has changed, and Cassandra Cain is just not dead anymore, she's Batwoman and working with Tim and Lex, so, I'm not sure how that happened or how it affects Evil Gun Batman. Maybe she's also a clone! Who could say.
Cassie kisses Tim, and Clone Conner attacks them, which causes Evil Gun Batman to kill him, because if Baby Tim dies so does Adult Tim. This action... causes the Titans of Tomorrow timeline to unravel completely. I guess watching himself kill Conner was the nail in the coffin preventing Baby Tim from ever agreeing with Adult Tim's point of view. Evil future averted!
But oh no.... the future... has been changed... but a new... very similar future... now... exists....
Ignore this completely, they just drop this entirely. This is nothing, it doesn't mean anything, it gets contradicted when Conner returns from the dead anyway, if this was ever a possible future, it's not anymore.
And then Rebirth happens... uh... Evil Gun Batman is also stuck in Oz's... prison... thing. It... directly quotes the previous storyline, lmao.
Conner's back, so that's no longer an integral part of Tim's mental breakdown, but it seems there's been a rift between Tim and his friends. It sounds like Bruce died, Dick walked away from the mantel, Jason was too injured and defeated to take up the mantel, and Damian sort of went crazy as Batman and Tim ended up killing him.
I... I couldn't begin to tell you what, exactly, Kate apparently did to deserve Tim trying to kill her to "set things right." It's very vague.
Evil Gun Batman in this timeline is kinda just... sad. Tired. Doesn't want to be in charge anymore.
And uh... kinda wrapped up in timey whimey bullshit that's warping him through timelines and it's possibly just made him crazy.
He of course tries to kill Jon to prevent a timeline where he, like, explodes and kills a bunch of people, but he ends up taking on Jon's excess energy instead and falls into the time stream or... something.
You could say he's got a... savior complex.
Rebirth Evil Gun Batman seems more like he's actively having a mental breakdown every scene he's in and like his sanity is slipping away from him, compared to New Earth Evil Gun Batman who seems more in control of himself. Rebirth is overtly sad, while New Earth is quietly sad. Rebirth portrays an Evil Gun Batman who treats killing people like a short cut to solving problems, while New Earth has a more nuanced take that's like... the "we should just kill the Joker" argument on steroids.
At the end of the day, I'd say when writing for Evil Gun Batman, remember he's still Tim - just Tim pushed well past his breaking point.
Uuuuh, I hope that helps! At least somewhat, lol.

i don’t get the whole rap battle between Kendrick & drake because, obviously kendrick’s the better one here but he apparently knew all this shit about drake being a pedophille and groomer the WHOLE TIME and then only spoke up in order to win a fight, and kendrick had Kodak Black on his last album, who was charged and plead guilty for sexual battery in 2016 for raping a teenage girl and also got in hot water for child neglect. same kinda shit as drake. idk, no matter how good his bars are and how good he pretends he is, kendrick still just seems like a typical man who protects and supports predators when they’re his friends and calls women bitches while he’s at it
yeah. context to those who dont know kodak black was convicted of rape in 2016 (6 years before mr morale dropped) and has a history of violence
i really cant argue against that, but i believe he wasn't added to the album as an endorsement of what he did. Mr. Morale is an album about personal growth, and about Kendrick himself. Kodak said himself that him and kendrick are very similar in a lot of small ways.
while kendrick's never said why kodak was added to the album, many believe it's the contrast of despite the fact they're similar, kodak has a history of violence and has went to jail many times, highlighting how even though kendrick is successful, others like him are still struggling with systemic racism and the cycle of violence and crime pushed by that same system.
The line as well "like it when they pro black, but I’m more Kodak Black" is literally telling the viewers he's not a Savior or a Mr. Morale, he's closer to a Big Stepper who makes awful mistakes
i can't say it was a good idea to include a rapist on an album, that does deserve criticism. but i believe it wasn't him supporting rapists, it more read as "there's growth and change both individuals and the entire system needs to do"
I'd definitely say i didn't explain this part enough because i didnt know too much about kodak black so i'd really appreciate others chiming in.
as for the "people have known about drake being a groomer the whole time" yeah. people have. he's gotten away with it until now. and it's a good thing that a well respected and incredibly famous person is bringing light to it.
kendrick had fuck all to do with drake since poetic justice so he didnt say shit about him. a lot of the industry kinda hated drake the whole time, and have been speaking out against him. kendrick's just the second (shout out megan thee stallion) to make it into a popular catchy song, which is a good thing as well because it gets more people talking about it!!!
Drake was the one who made Push Ups and Taylor Made and constantly went online to told him to make a response track. like the feud would have been over at Like That but it was Drake constantly provoking him to make content. Straight up doing things that kendrick said "hey if you do this i'm going to retaliate" and then drake did it, and kendrick retaliated exactly like he said he was. This whole thing is Drake's fault, he's the one constantly pushing it.
I can't say kendrick isnt also pushing it now, but everything's pointing to he's just making more songs to bring more people to talk about it. There's no ads on the videos. He's not copyright claiming anything. He's making serious songs to highlight issues and catchy songs to spread this info far. it's a genius use of the medium to bring light to the issues drake brings.
which is what kendrick is fucking known for. using music to bring light to the issues the world face
