not to hornets nest again so soon but erm. ok. i love when ppl have many different hcs for characters, like with sexuality and race and the like! ithink it's valuable and fun and insightful, and there's just so much to chew on about how different lenses can shape and mold the subject of them. at the same time. however. i do think you have to mb unpack. how certain things reflect and how they can become coded. mb. like we should think about why we think certain things. in my opinion.

I have abs not from working out but from coughing so much all the time for like a decade that I might as well have been doing crunches

#I've been to multiple doctors about the Unending Cough that I've had since i was like 16 and they're all just like idk bro #I've had xrays so probably nothing dangerous. so i just have to deal with the cough forever i guess #it's fine? I'm used to it. annoying mostly. sometimes i do think damn it would be convenient if i didn't cough all the time tho #esp for going to sleep. or in a quiet public place that's the worst #i think it's genuinely gotten worse though bc like #the kids always bring home 7 different colds at once and those linger for me way longer than everyone else #like there's the default cough and the advanced one. colds just make it 2x bad for like a month #and after a month they come home with a brand new cold #but you know what at least it gave me abs as a consolation prize #not like a 6pac to be clear im not ripped its just 11s lol

#i decided not to include non-fiction to make it easier #alexis wright is like scary genius level of author. i don't always understand what's happening but plains of promise's endings got me hard.#lotr is like hugely formative so of course its there #regeneration trilogy made me insane. it's so. so. so. good. i feel if you liked the terror you'd like it #the folding star also made me insane though i don't rec it unreservedly because of the subject matter (it's been called a gay lolita)#the natural way of things... absolutely shattering. very sensitive subject matter & some things that could have been handled better #runemarks is a hilariously funny sort of... dystopic fantasy novel that draws on norse mythology (it's said to be YA but eh)#(i liked this better that harris's gospel/testament of loki novels)#the daylight gate is fantastically written horror novel based on the pendle hill witch trial. not for the faint hearted #sir! gawain! and! the! green! knight! i picked this cover because i loved the design best and it was the first translation i read.#i love sarah moss's writing so damn much - i think this is my favourite of hers but i also love 'cold earth'#there would be so many runner ups #text posts
