A Dish With Good Intentions
So that bit where they try to make Marcille's "local cuisine" is funny to me, and I want to explore it a bit.
Tumblr media
Firstly, the finished product.
It's, uh. basically ramen. Delicious, but...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izutsumi being the Voice of Reason in Marcille's absence, and pointing out to the boys that they got completely the wrong idea (she's right, it turns out, because Marcille's 'home cuisine' is basically Italian and they've made it Japanese).
From the Adventurer's Bible, we know that Marcille and Laios come from the same place (the Northern Continent), while Senshi and Chilchuck come from the Eastern Continent, and Izutsumi the Eastern Isles. The cusine of the Eastern Isles is traditionally Japanese: rice is the staple, while the North, East and Southern Continents seem to have a more 'modern' Japanese style: lots more things like noodles, breads, pies, and what we might think of as fusion cuisine. It's why no one in the party (except Izutsumi) thinks of Senshi's cooking as unusual. Aside from the ingredients, it's the sort of dishes they'd eat normally.
But the elves have Italian food.
We get hints of that during the bit where Marcille's talking with the Canaries, but it's not really spelled out explicitly: this chapter is the only time you get real evidence for it.
Why?
Because while Izutsumi's right about one thing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she correctly surmised that Marcille's "home" cuisine is different from what they usually eat:
Tumblr media
(Look at her she's adorable)
Senshi, Laios and Chilchuck weren't just being ignorant - they had no reason to suspect that this ramen dish wasn't correct, because...
... Marcille's "home" cuisine is her mother's native elven one. Of course Laios would assume she eats the same stuff he does! That's probably why he gets stuck on the idea of 'udon' instead of 'pasta'.
So yeah, this bit amuses me simply because it turns out Marcille's "hometown food" wasn't local at all, she grew up eating "foreign" food!

Sitting at the open counter here is a delight, as you will watch Sanders and his group in real life, just as being given the story behind each dish and its fixings as they are served. Supper here is an otherworldly occasion where no one can tell what's coming straightaway. Take the "rice bread." Served as a modest canapé, this is really one of the menu knockouts and will leave you wishing you had a portion to bring home. Produced using natural rice from Surin Province, it's presented with earthy colored margarine and yellow stew emulsion, and finished off with salted egg yolk and toasted tacky rice. Glue Bangkok is the brainchild of Australian honor winning cook Jason Bailey and his Thai accomplice Bongkoch "Honey bee" Satongun, who got approval for their Thai cafés in Australia and afterward migrated to Bangkok, carrying innovative and quality food with them. The café used to have a branch over on Sukhumvit 49, yet has moved to the luxurious Gaysorn Plaza, carrying some refined genuinely refined feasting to Bangkok's most exquisite mall.
Suggested for Best Restaurants on the grounds that: For genuinely creative and legitimate high end food Thai cooking, Paste sticks out.
Dave's master tip: Paste is situated on the third floor of the Gaysorn Plaza. Bring the immediate passage into Gaysorn from the Chidlom BTS skytrain station. Reservations are fundamental.
MEZZALUNA - BANGRAK
Mezzaluna is Bangkok's most chic eatery, and eating up here 65 stories over the Chao Phraya River and the Bangkok horizon is one of the top encounters one can have while around, particularly as the café has been granted two stars by the Bangkok Michelin guide, and highlights the sense of taste boggling cooking of gourmet expert Ryuki Kawasaki, who has monitored Michelin kitchens in France, the U.S., and his local Japan, and was named Chef of the Year by the Escoffier Society while working at Twist by Pierre Gagnaire in Las Vegas.
Assuming control over the rudder at Mezzaluna in 2015, Kawasaki has joined his standout French cooking procedures with the absolute most only sourced fixings to be found in Asia. Take the Niigata Murakami Wagyu meat for instance, which Kawasaki brings only to Thailand from Japan. The hamburger comes from a little variety of painstakingly chose, top notch calves from Niigata Prefecture, which are raised on rice straw, roughage, and premium compound feed, giving the meat a smooth surface and totally soften in the mouth taste. It is served here at Mezzaluna with dark truffles and barbecued over binchotan charcoal, and is the mark dish featuring an extraordinary seven-course tasting menu
Everything about the feasting experience at Mezzaluna is done to most extreme flawlessness. A flock of staff drifts around your table, never neglecting to see whether you need more bread or water, continually bringing sense of taste boosts before dishes, and giving itemized clarifications of the multitude of enamoring manifestations. A specialist sommelier comes out to clarify each wine matching presented with the food, giving the causes of each container, however praising its features and flavor profiles, and the basement here is one of the best taking all things together Bangkok, with a few of the wines served being select to Mezzaluna.
The menu at Mezzaluna is occasional, changing like clockwork, despite the fact that dishes like the Wagyu meat are constantly highlighted. Gourmet specialist Kawasaki says, "My enthusiasm is to make encounters that rouse and leave enduring recollections for individuals I share them with, and our culinary excursion at Mezzaluna comprises of different surfaces, flavors, artisinal occasional items, and cooking procedures."
This is a whole eating experience at its best, from gourmet expert to worker to table to the mood. Now, the sky (and potentially even a pined for third star) is the breaking point for Mezzaluna and its elite player culinary expert.
Suggested for Best Restaurants in light of the fact that: For Bangkok's most exquisite high as can be Michelin-granted greatness, you can't top Mezzaluna
Dave's master tip: Reservations are fundamental here, and it merits coming right on time for a nightfall drink at the Distil Bar, found just beneath the Mezzaluna.

The Ultimate Guide to Instant Noodles
Tumblr media
A variety of instant noodles from different countries
How to mash-up, deconstruct, and altogether upgrade the versatile staple of dorm room dining
As a semi-professional noodle slurper and collector, I’ve eaten hundreds of noodles in my life, but I have a particular soft spot for one type, specifically: the instant kind. You know, those hard squiggly bricks of dried, fried noodles with accompanying seasoning packets that have long been the foundation of the American collegiate diet. Since the pandemic started, I’ve been showing off my impressive collection of instant noodles to my friends on FaceTime like a YouTube beauty guru flaunting their makeup stash.
I love instant noodles for many reasons: They have a nearly indefinite shelf life; they are an easy breakfast, snack, or — with the right bolstering — a full meal; and, they come in a panoply of shapes, textures, flavors, and colorful packaging styles. But while there is nothing wrong with eating instant noodles according to the instructions, it’s their versatility that’s made me a devoted fan. Here’s how to mash-up, deconstruct, and upgrade the dorm room staple.
1. Load up on protein
Yes, many instant noodles come with their own packets of dehydrated vegetable or meat flavoring, but they rarely provide much real taste and add zero in the way of texture. Supplementing your own additional proteins will do a lot to make your instant noodles more satisfying and nutrition-rich. Try simple items like ground meat, sausage, tofu, and leftover fried chicken — or my personal favorite ramen topping, pork char siu. Meat shortage got ya down? Just crack an egg. You can stir it right in to create an egg-drop soup effect, or poach the egg gently in the soup broth to enjoy breaking the creamy yolk.
Tumblr media
Chicken-flavored ramen with garlicky sautéed kale, roasted chicken legs, and carrots.
2. Go big with toppings
Going nuts with the add-ons at ramen restaurants can mean spending $30 on a bowl of noodles (toppings normally cost between $1 and $3 each.) But at home, you can have as many toppings as the inventory of your fridge’s produce drawer allows: scallions, corn, mushrooms, kale, you name it. Not sure about what to do with all those weird greens in your CSA farm box? Add them to your instant noodles! Fact: There is no such thing as a lousy topping for instant noodles.
3. Deconstruct everything
Each element of the instant noodle package is a multi-purpose cooking superstar. The seasoning packets add a pop to stir-fried vegetables. Broken into bits, the uncooked noodles are an excellent crunchy topping for a salad or even another non-instant pasta dish. Do yourself a favor and add some ramen seasoning to mac and cheese, or how about using those instant noodles to make buns for an at-home ramen burger?
4. Switch up the liquid
To deepen the character of the soup, try cooking the noodles in vegetable or chicken broth instead of plain water. There are plenty of wilder recipes out there, including this one I’m skeptical of that uses milk, but homemade stock is a safe jumping off point.
5. Mash-up different styles
Mixing different instant noodle styles and seasoning packets is a culinary art form in itself, and can have big payoff. Jjapaguri (also called ram-don), the famous dish from the Oscar-winning movie Parasite, is actually just a hybrid of two different kinds of instant noodles — Neoguri and Jjappaghetti — and has become one of Korea’s national dishes. The magic comes from the mixing of Neguri’s spicy seafood powder with Jjappaghetti’s savory black bean powder, which ignites a lethal umami bomb. But jjapaguri is just the start. Try mixing Neoguri and curry noodles to create an exuberant, spicy curry broth. Combining super spicy noodles with something cheesy is also 100 percent never a bad idea.

The Ones to Know
Here, then, are some of the best instant noodles to stock up on, categorized by whether or not they’re “brothy” (the noodle soup kind) or “saucy” (brothless noodles with a separate sauce).
BROTHY
MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle If you love Penang curry, try adding this noodle to your cart. These wildly popular Malaysian instant noodles are considered some of the best in the world on this heavily opinionated ranking. Three whole flavor pouches — one of them is a paste — make for a deep, coconut-y taste and hearty portion size that you rarely get from instant noodles. Add toppings like fried tofu or prawns.
Neoguri, Spicy Seafood Udon Noodles Neoguri, a Korean word for raccoon dog (neither a raccoon nor a dog; discuss), has been my top choice for ramen since I started slurping noodles at the age of three. This beloved Korean instant noodle is known for two things: thick udon-like noodles and a spicy seafood broth with actual dried seafood. It’s fantastic with any fishy topping or add-ins.
Nongshim Shin Ramyun Noodle Soup Shin Ramyun might be the very first Korean instant noodle brand, as well as one of the easiest to find internationally: I still remember the exciting moment when I found Shin Ramyun in a random gas station in Alabama. It’s known for its spicy broth, and doubles as an excellent noodle for Korean ramen beginners. Top this with a slice of American cheese to tone down the spice and pump up the greatness.
Prima Taste Laksa Coconut Curry Lamian Noodles This Singaporean instant noodle inspired by traditional laksa has a paste sachet that can and should be used for stir-frying vegetables, too. The noodles are rounder and less wavy than others, and the white powder adds the signature creaminess.
Mama Noodles Thai cooking doesn’t shy away from acid, and neither do these Thai instant noodles, with just the right balance of acidic and salty flavors. The wavy noodles and the powdery seasonings make a great snack — though it may not be hearty enough to be a standalone meal. Beef it up with a hard-boiled egg and other vegetable toppings, like scallions.
Sapporo Ichiban Tokyo Chicken Momosan Ramen Think Japanese shoyu ramen, in instant form: salty, slightly smokey, and clean tasting. It’s great with plain old white-meat chicken breast — which is hard to say about anything, really.
Paldo Gomtang Oriental Style Noodles with Beef Soup Base Not all Korean instant noodles are spicy! This mild, creamy Korean noodle soup is inspired by gomtang, or beef bone broth. It has an intense beefiness and is excellent with hearty greens like cabbage or scallions. Add some ground beef to make it more filling.
Tumblr media
Tseng noodles with black sesame sauce
SAUCY
Nongshim, Jjapaghetti (Noodle Pasta with jjajang Sauce) “On Sundays, I’m the chef for Jjapaghetti” has been a Korean catchphrase for more than a decade. A combination of two dishes — jajangmyun (black bean noodles) and spaghetti— this saucy Korean instant noodle is also what spurred the ram-don trend after its crucial role in Parasite. The accompanying savory black bean sauce is all it really needs, though I highly recommend a luxe drizzle of truffle oil, too.
Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Stir Fry Noodles If you haven’t tried this Indonesian instant noodle, stop what you’re doing and fix that immediately. The package comes with a liquid seasoning mix of savory onion-flavored oil, sweet-spicy chili sauce, and sweet soy sauce, creating a salty-and-sweet coating for the wavy noodles. Any optional toppings like grilled steak or boiled eggs are just gravy.
Samyang Extra Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen Are you up for #FireNoodleChallenge? Join the leagues of people who’ve filmed themselves slurping these dangerously spicy noodles. There are multiple flavor options available, from carbonara to curry, and all of them equally fiery. Cover this with lots of mozzarella cheese to tone down the heat to the point where you might actually enjoy it.
Tseng Noodles Scallion With Sichuan Pepper Flavor This Taiwanese instant noodle is all about texture. Its curling, knife-cut-like strands are a perfect match for the sauce. There are many different flavors, besides this scallion one, such as black sesame and shallots. Depending on the sauce, the noodles textures vary. Think of this as gourmet-tier, since it costs slightly more than other noodles, but it’s totally worth the splurge.
Paldo Bibim Myun Cold Noodle The spicy, tangy, sweet sauce of these Korean noodles will wake up even the dullest of palates. Cook the noodles until they’re just al dente, or still a little firm, then rinse them under cold water to get rid of any residual starch and achieve peak bounce and chew. The sauce packet is an excellent salad dressing, too. Add some chopped cucumber and hard-boiled egg for a clutch midnight snack, or add some ice cubes for a cooling summer treat.
Mom’s Dry Noodle Sichuan Spicy The Taiwanese knife cut-style noodles cling to the oily, spicy sauce for maximum slurpability. Top with a fried egg or fried cubed tofu and you can almost pretend you’re at a restaurant.

International Fast Food Restaurants An Overview
Cafés have become a significant wellspring of pay in this day and age. Each city on the planet has worldwide cafés which give high class administration. Individuals from the corporate world go to these cafés with their loved ones. Huge establishments of these eateries are opened in various pieces of the world. Each of these has their techniques and hugeness in offering support to their clients. There can be a ton of reasons why these establishments must be set up in various pieces of the globe. Right off the bat, the primary explanation is to extend the business and make its very own brand.
Today, we see a great deal of outlets from United States being open in various pieces of the globe. A portion of the inexpensive food organizations like the McDonalds, Subway and Burger King have arrived at an immersion point as far as their business in USA. Opening new outlets in various pieces of the world have helped them grow their business, share their accepted procedures and dealing with these establishments over various areas. It is likewise prone to induce a piece of development disapproved of establishments to wander with new establishments into various pieces of the world.
Today, we locate these worldwide cafés giving food from various nationalities in pretty much every city. The worldwide eatery in Ohio, Columbus gives various assortments of food from different nationalities like Mexican, Asian, Central European, Chinese, Japanese, Chinese Oriental, Ethiopian, French, German, Greek, Indian, Irish, Italian, Korean, Latin American, Mediterranean, Mexican, Mongolian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese and Thai. A portion of these eateries giving these are Don Poblo, Estrada,Yoshi's dumpling restaurant, Martini Ristorante, Indian Kitchen, The Olive Tree, China Garden Buffett, Human Lion, Bento's, Hanke's Cuisine, The Bombay Grille, Bd's Mongolian Barbecue, Sweet Pot Jamaican Cuisine, Fujiyama Steak House of Japan, The Refectory, Blue Nile, etc.
Today, we have a ton of global eateries in the area of Seattle, Washington. This spot was once called the China Town as it had a great deal of Chinese eateries and was acclaimed for Chinese assortments. The greater part of the way of life here speaks to the Korean and Thai, prevailing cooking styles of the Chinese, Japanese and the Vietnamese. We should investigate the subtleties of a portion of this sort.
The Chinese cafés most regularly had Szechuan, Cantonese and Hunan dishes on a similar menu. In any case, the universal locale likewise had free cooking styles which inside and out had assortments in its territory of specialization. For instance, The Sichuanese Cuisine Restaurant utilizes peppers in dishes and is open each day. The Pacific Cafe offers conventional Hong Kong style of inexpensive food and an individually menu. It gives a first-class dinner and is open on the entire days with the exception of Monday.
A large portion of the eateries practice themselves in diminish sim. They likewise serve customary Chinese nourishment for lunch and supper. Jade Garden is one of the cafés here which spends significant time in diminish sim. It is opened on the entire days and offers conventional things like steamed buns, shrimp balls alongside other outlandish things.
Sushi is a staple food in a large portion of the Japanese cooking styles and a great deal of eateries represent considerable authority in this. In any case, the worldwide region of Seattle flaunts significantly more assortments. Maneki Japanese Restaurant should be the most established Japanese café in Seattle. It serves an assortment of home-style dishes, for example, sukiyaki, just as sushi for longer than a century. The Samurai Noodle serves the bowl of ramen. Here you will find all the various stocks and garnishes that ramen accompanies, and the flavor of a customary Japanese noodle shop is marvelous.
These worldwide eateries keep a high observation on their security frameworks. Beginning from valet stopping, caution frameworks, surveillance cameras, advanced video recorders introduced in better places inside the café causes them to keep their clients secure and great help. For better seeing, frequently these frameworks work like the ADT Home Security framework introduced in our homes.

PHONE
What is the last game you played on your phone? 1010. As far as I know it’s the game that has stayed the longest on my phone.
What kind of phone do you have? iPhone 8.
Do you have it in a case? Yep. I managed to destroy my old Otterbox case, so I just had it replace with a simple, clear one. I tend to break expensive stuff whether I mean to or not, so my parents absolutely never let me get away with a caseless phone haha.
Do you have a screen protector? Also yes. I have all the things that could possibly protect my phone, because I can be super clumsy with my stuff.
Who is the last person you messaged? Gabie.
What’s the last app you downloaded? I haven’t downloaded anything new in a while but I think it was Google Sheets, which I needed so I can edit spreadsheets while on the go.
Who is the first contact in your phone? Gab, but only because I put an ‘Aa’ before her name lmao. The actual first contact is Alex, a friend from high school.
Do you give people personalized ringtones? Only Gab, so that I know if she’s the one texting or calling.
What percentage is your phone battery? Right now it’s attttt 42%.
Does your screen have any cracks? Yup. Like I said, I managed to slowly destroy my old phone case so when that broke, my tempered glass stopped being as protected as before and eventually that cracked, and my actual screen got cracks as well.
LOOKS
What color is your hair? Black.
How tall are you? My 5′1″/5′2″ ass barely counts as tall.
Are you happy with the way you look right now? I’ve been feeling a lot more confident and cute these days because I recently cut my hair a lot shorter and also got bangs, and it turns out the look suits me! So yeah I’m pretty happy.
Describe your outfit: I’ve been stuck at home in the last three weeks so my ‘outfits’ just revolve around the old t-shirts and shorts I have.
What makeup products are you wearing, if any? No makeup.
What tattoos or piercings do you have? I have my earlobes pierced, and that’s it.
How would you describe your skin tone? A bit tan.
Are your nails painted? Never are.
What color eyes do you have? Really dark brown / almost black.
What is your favorite physical feature about yourself? At the moment I really like my bangs, haha.
OUTSIDE
Why were you last outside? Ugh man, I haven’t been outside in literal weeks. I think the last reason was to go to an optometrist to figure out what’s wrong with my left eye. I also had late lunch out with my dad, and it was the last day everyone got to be out because that evening the government announced the suspension of classes until April.
What’s the last outdoors concert you went to? Coldplay, three years ago. The concert was outdoors, we watched it from a parking lot so that we had a better view.
Do you own a tent? It’s not my own tent but we have a family tent, yeah.
What’s the weather like today? It’s summer so it’s a lot warmer, but fortunately I’m not sweating too much right now.
Do you have distinctive seasons where you live? Nope, we only have sunny and rainy lol.
What is your favorite kind of tree? I don’t have a favorite.
Are you allergic to any plants? None that I know of.
Did you play any outdoor sports in school? Mmm no. I played track and table tennis, which you can play indoors.
When’s the last time you got rained on? Friday. I was relaxing at our rooftop when it started drizzling a bit, so I had to go back inside for a few minutes.
Do you go to parks frequently? I would if we actually had a single park here.
FACEBOOK
Do you have your full birth name on there? All but one name. I took out my middle name so I wouldn’t be giving too much away.
Describe your profile picture: It’s a promotional photo as part of our org’s recruitment campaign to invite students to apply for the org. Idk about other countries but org culture is a pretty big deal here and we’ll pull out all the stops to recruit new members; DP blasts are one staple of it.
What’s the last notification you got? I think it was someone reacting to a meme I shared.
Do you ever upload videos? Never. I never upload anything of my own, unless I’m changing my profile picture.
How many friends do you have? Not so sure but it’s in the 600s.
Who is the last person you added? It was someone from high school who migrated to the US. I sent her a friend request like, 5000 months ago lmaoooooo and she only accepted it a couple of days ago. I don’t even remember the time I added her anymore, and I was surprised when I got a notification saying we’re friends on Facebook now.
Do you use Messenger a lot? Yeah it’s the unofficial default chat app here; everyone is on it.
What is the last thing you posted/shared? It’s a cute doodle of two onions wearing hanbok and greeting each other ‘onionhaseyo’ HAHAHAHA
According to your Facebook memories, what did you post last year? It didn’t give me a memory for today.
What groups are you in? Too many – like I said, Facebook is insanely popular here and is used a lot, by everyone, for everything. I’m part of private groups for several of my classes, I’m in a group for my org, and our org also has a group that includes the alumni, and I’m in several interest groups with people sharing photos/videos of their dogs, their lunch for today, etc.
FOOD
What’s the last thing you ate? I’m about to eat instant yakisoba. I’m just waiting for the noodles to be softened by the hot water.
How about drank? Just water. I don’t really drink anything else at home.
Do you have plans for dinner tonight? Nope. I still don’t know which parent is cooking tonight, and what they’ll be making.
Do you have any food allergies? [continued from a few hours earlier, because I managed to fall asleep in the middle of this survey hahaha] Nope. I’d be so disappointed if I turned out allergic to a certain food, because I looooove eating.
Are you on a diet? I am not.
What’s the last fast food place you went to? I think it was Bonchon. My dad and I went there to pick up lunch a few Sundays ago, because he and my mom were both too lazy to cook.
What foreign cuisines do you enjoy? My all-time favorite is Indian, but I also enjoy Middle Eastern, Korean, and Thai. I’d say Japanese but tbh the only thing I really like from their cuisine is sashimi, sushi, and katsu.
What is your least favorite fruit? All of them. I’m also biased against honeydew, but this is more of an influence from BoJack Horseman than anything haha. I love that show :’(
How many meals have you had today, so far? Two. For the entire break so far my family has been eating late breakfast, completely skip lunch, and get together again for dinner.
What side dishes do you love? I don’t really notice them enough to have a favorite, but I do like the shaved cabbage from Yabu.

Manga I Read on the Reg
This is just a collection of manga I read regularly whenever they come out.
1. Boku no Hero Academia
Tumblr media
Most of you know what this is. In a world where 80% of the population has these special abilities called “quirks”, our main character is part of the 20% that doesn’t have a quirk. The problem is, Midoriya Izuku, hero fanboy and enthusiast, has desperately wanted to be a hero since childhood. Without a quirk, Midoriya is discriminated enough as it is and everyone around him is telling him he can’t become a hero. But Midoriya refuses to give up and prepares for his future in order to become a hero. As high school entrance exams draw near, Midoriya is losing hope but in one miraculous encounter with Japan’s Number 1 hero, Midoriya is given an opportunity to obtain a quirk and pursue his dream to become a hero.
I’m going to be honest. When I first started to hear about Boku no Hero Academia, I avoided it. I was already in too many fandoms and decided that with all that I had to do in my life: it wasn’t worth it. I pushed it away for later or potentially never. The most I did was click on a couple clips advertising BNHA and decided from those short clips that I despised Bakugou Katsuki. He was the classic bully character that I didn’t need reminders of. He’s the type of person I hate most in the world. I weighed the ethics and morality of this fantasy world way too heavily and moved on. Then, one day, having broken my ankle and forced to stay off it; I decided to read the Boku no Hero Academia manga in it’s entirety in one sitting. Since then I haven’t missed a new release. I think the reason I was so attracted to this series was how much it made me think of Katekyo Hitman Reborn which is one of my favorite franchises. I wanted to see more of a nervous and unsure main character despite being a badass and Boku no Hero Academia has certainly given me that.
This has an anime up to season 3 and a movie. Season 4 and a second movie has also been announced!
2. Haikyuu!!
Tumblr media
One of the only sports manga! Haikyuu follows Hinata Shouyo, a short teenage boy entering his first year of high school aspiring to be the volleyball team’s ace despite almost never competing before, and Kageyama Tobio, a genius setter who has previously been abandoned by his teammates. Now, it’s not exactly that cut and dried. Hinata, despite being a nervous wreck and an idiot at times, along with practically being a beginner at playing volleyball with a real team, has incredible athletic ability. The only thing he can really do is jump and at the beginning of his high school career he takes to spiking with his eyes closed. Kageyama is a genius with a terrible personality. His insecurities after being abandoned make him standoffish to nearly everyone, but he always pulls through when aiming his set exactly to where Hinata will hit it. The team they join are full of fun and vibrant characters that have the title of the fallen crows because their school’s team has “fallen from glory”. It’s a typical sports manga with lovable characters and interesting relationships.
I also avoided reading Haikyuu when my friends started talking about it. I had already invested so much time into reading The Prince of Tennis and I didn’t want to get sucked into another fandom. I caved of course. The characters just seemed so fresh and new to me. It was less about the volleyball and more about how the characters interacted with each other. I actually started reading Haikyuu because of two videos on youtube that I believe no longer exist. The first was a compilation of each jump serve layered on top of each other and for each second the character serving would change and it was like art. The second was a compilation of Iwaizumi and Oikawa bickering. That really sold me.
This manga has an anime up to season 3! Season 4 has also been announced!
3. Akatsuki no Yona
Tumblr media
God I love her. Akatsuki no Yona follows the sheltered princess of the Kyouka Kingdom, Yona. Yona has lived her entire life within the gates of Hiryuu Castle with her cousin Su-won, her bodyguard Hak, and her father: the King. All Yona wants in her future is to marry Su-won, despite her father’s insistence that she will not. The night of her 16th birthday, however, she discovers Su-won over her father’s body, pulling a sword out of his corpse. She escapes the castle with Hak and after gathering herself after her father’s death and cousin’s betrayal she visits a priest that tells her to find the four legendary dragon warriors. Kyouka has a legend, in which the first king was a red dragon in human form and was accompanied with four warriors with his dragon brothers’ blood. Yona, with the priest believing she is the reincarnation of the red dragon, sets off with Hak and the priest’s companion to find the dragon warriors.
I was hooked on Yona the moment it came out. I watched the anime like five times and when I realize there wouldn’t be a second season I read the manga. I’ve said this before in another post but Yona isn’t just a shoujo manga. The main character is a strong inspirational female character trying her best to fix the country that declared her dead. The romance is sweet but also awfully comedic. The fight scenes and the dramatic scenes are intense and draw you in. But just like any other manga, it’s the characters and the relationships that drew me in. Besides Hak and Yona’s thing they’re avoiding talking about; everyone else acts like siblings just trying to stay together the best they can and help anyone they can along the way. The dragon dynamic is hilarious, the backstories are sad, the romance is soft, and the bishounen is a genius.
This manga has one anime season!
4. Yakusoko no Neverland
Tumblr media
The ultimate mind fuck. The orphans at the Grace Field House live peaceful lives with each other and their beloved Mama. It’s one big happy family. They spend the days like any other family would; breakfast, mind-wracking tests, tag, dinner, and rinse and repeat. But even to the children, somethings seem strange. They’re never allowed to venture beyond the gate that surrounds them like a ring in the forest around the house. By the time they reach the age 12, they have to leave their little house. The children that have left never write to them, despite promising they would. The story follows main characters Ray, Norman, and Emma as they find out the secret behind their little house and try to somehow change their pitiful fate.
So, this is another manga I decided to read in one day. A friend and I decided that since the anime would be coming out soon we would read the manga together in one go. Needless to say we were nearly dead after reading through all of it. So much happens in this that you’re like “what just happened” despite having just read it. You literally have to expect the unexpected when it comes to Neverland. This series would be ruined if I said anymore but the fact that these children can go through that and still smile and have hope despite the odds against them makes my heart warm.

5. The Rising of the Shield Hero
Tumblr media
The one that makes you angry almost immediately. According to legend, the holders of the four heavenly weapons are the heroes that will save Melromarc from the calamity that come in waves to the world. Iwatani Naofumi is just a normal university student when he picks up a book that transports him to another world. It’s entirely by bad luck that he’s given the role of the disregarded Shield Hero who can only wield shields and is ultimately useless offensively in battle. What’s even worse is that the companion who joined him at the start of his journey accused him of raping her and he’s been scorned by the kingdom and all its inhabitants since. The world seems so dark and Naofumi doesn’t want anything to do with the other heroes and incoming waves of calamity. The light in his life returns when he enslaves a sickly and depressed demi-human to fight for him. Raphtalia soon finds her master isn’t scary or cruel and becomes determined to make sure no one will suffer as she once did as a child while making sure Naofumi knows he is loved and appreciated by at least one person.
God when I first read this I was so mad. Naofumi didn’t deserve any of this, especially when the arrogant king summoned him to fight a battle he had nothing to do with. The same friend introduced Shield-bro to me and practically begged I read it. Yes we call it Shield-bro, it’s a thing. Look up Shield-bro on google and this will come out. It’s just a different sort of isekai where instead of being the hero that’s being praised - you get a real person getting accused of a real crime he didn’t commit. He’s been handed the short end of the stick just for being the Shield Hero no one appreciates. He’s literally the underdog in everything. You just want to root for Naofumi. It’s a really good stress reliever.
This manga has an anime that is currently airing!
6. Isekai Omotenashi Gohan
Tumblr media
This one is so softtttt. Our main character and her little sister gets their literal house transported to a different world. Oh and their dog comes too! Their Japanese home is transported in front of a luxurious foreign-looking castle in which people greet Akane and her little sister, Hiyori, claiming to have summoned the priestess that will save their world from the miasma. Hiyori is delighted and starts her training as the priestess, but Akane has nothing to do as a normal office worker and their home’s homemaker in this new world. After spending a month feeling useless, Hiyori comes to plead her sister for her cooking - starting Akane’s adventure in cooking classic Japanese staples that somehow attracts the attention of the Knight Commander of the Chivalric Order, the King, the kingdom’s princesses and much more. That is, of course, while teaching her knight guard Jade how to cook as well.
This isn’t very long and updates rarely but it’s so cute. All the antics are just so cute. The food is amazing and it’s just a story about how food brings everyone together. It’s masterful and done well. But it’s also not just a cooking story. Akane and Hiyori both struggle with Hiyori being the world’s priestess and her encountering danger. The sisterly bond is great in this one.
7. Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami
Tumblr media
If you can’t tell I’m really into Isekai. This manga follows another regular office worker, but she’s really into otome games. Our main character dies from a car crash and when she wakes up she is in the footsteps of the villainess, Iris Lana Armelia, from a game she had just completed, in the middle Iris’ judgement scene from the love interests because Iris harassed the game’s main character: Yuuri. The original fate of Iris, after losing her engagement from the prince and being exposed of harassment in front of her whole school, leads to a miserable life at a church. Iris, this time around, as an efficient office worker from Japan, gets sent by the Duke, her father, to care for their territory’s fief as fief lord. From there Iris, along with her loyal companions and friends, care for the fief with all of Iris’ knowledge from Japan with plenty of bumps along the way from the game’s love interests and Yuuri. Yuuri may not be the sweet video game protagonist she is thought to be.
So, one day, I had read through most everything and I wanted a little bit of romance in my life. And while this didn’t originally have the romance I wanted, it still piqued my interest. The real appeal to this is how strong Iris is as a character. She doesn’t take shit from anyone and holds her head up with pride. But in the times she is weak she has supportive friends that would do anything for her in a heartbeat. Another appealing factor is how technical and political this manga is. The manga describes real life things to improve the fief such as a banking system and taxation, but also gets political with the two factions of the two princes. It’s a good mix a strong female lead, economics, politics, royalty, and friendship.
There is also a Light Novel that some amazing people have translated online! Go support them!
8. That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken)
Tumblr media
More isekai! Just like most isekai main characters, our main character is a simple corporate worker who lives a normal life in Tokyo. Unfortunately, after pushing his friend out of the way of an assailant on the street, our MC dies while hearing a strange voice responding to his dying thoughts. When our MC wakes up he discovers that he is now a slime in a new world and discovers a dragon in the cave he woke up, befriends him, and receives the name Rimuru Tempest. Strangely, Rimuru has abilities that a normal slime would not have - the most notable being his ability to devour anything and mimic its appearance and abilities. Rimuru starts his journey after escaping the cave and one thing leads to another and suddenly there are a bunch of monsters calling him “Master” and “Rimuru-sama” and Rimuru is the head of a monster country.
I normally don’t like OP characters, but I strangely find Rimuru okay. Rimuru has plenty of over powered characteristics and abilities but Rimuru’s personality and demeanor makes it tolerable. It’s just fun seeing how everyone underestimates Rimuru because he’s a slime. Rimuru is also very morally aligned, in that he’s very clear with his desires and doesn’t tolerate it if the line is crossed.
This manga has an anime that is currently airing!
9. I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess with Only Destruction Flags
Tumblr media
EVEN MORE ISEKAI! We follow Katarina Klaus who hits her head and awakens the memories of her past life as a seventeen year old girl in Japan. Katarina Klaus, however, is the haughty aristocrat villainess in a fantasy otome game with swords and magic. Having recovered her memories, Katarina cannot find it in herself to act the same as the old Katarina as she finds aristocratic society a pain. Unfortunately for Katarina, according to the game, death or exile awaits her for each and every route. Katarina decides the best thing to do is somehow protect herself by improving her magic and swordsmanship to escape the death flags. What follows are antics of farming to enhance her magical ability and her unintentional wooing of the game’s love interests. Oblivious and focused on matching the love interests to the game’s main character while avoiding a destruction flag, Katarina doesn’t notice how everyone, even the game’s main character falls for her. Farming, failed match-making, admiration from all sides, and a panicking main character awaits you.
This is another one that I found looking for romance. This is more of a comedy isekai more than anything. Sure there’s magic and other abilities but the manga doesn’t focus on that. The manga focuses more on the strangeness that is Katarina as she is now. I would have never expected to find an isekai manga MC have a hobby in farming. The way Katarina is so oblivious to everyone falling for her is also pretty great.
There is also a Light Novel that some amazing people have translated online! Go support them!
10. The Saint’s Magic Ability is Omnipotent (Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu)
Tumblr media
God how much isekai do I read? Sei, a regular office worker, was suddenly summoned to another world by a saint summoning ritual with another girl she does not recognize. The prince of this country, despite there being two girls summoned to their world, completely ignores Sei and declares the other girl is the saint who will save the country from the miasma, without confirming his claim. Sei, outraged, demands that because she is apparently not the saint that she be sent back home but is told it is impossible. Sei lives a comfortable but restless life at the castle, having gotten used to the grueling work style of Japan. While exploring the castle she becomes interested in potion making. Her magic is overly effective to everything she does and creates without her meaning to - even her food gives people more energy. As time goes on, more and more people come to respect Sei’s good deeds and starts to think she is the saint while the girl parading around with the country’s prince is a fake. Sei, knowing she is the saint, only wants to live a quiet life creating potions.
This one is just so precious because of how amazing Sei is without meaning to. She knows she is the saint but doesn’t want to admit it. It’s also really fun seeing how she interacts with the other characters. Sei isn’t used to praise or romantic attention. A lot of things are new to her in this new world but all she wants to do is be useful in her own way.
There is also a Light Novel that some amazing people have translated online! Go support them!
11. The White Cat That Swore Vengeance Was Just Lazing on the Dragon King’s Lap
Tumblr media
This is sadly relatable. Ruri has forcibly been friends her neighbor Asahi for years. Ruri is the beautiful daughter to a foreign model and a diplomat of Japan. If you were to look up the definition of beauty in a dictionary, Ruri’s picture would be there. Platinum blonde hair, blue eyes, elegant Japanese features and all. Asahi, meanwhile, has been coddled and loved throughout her whole life because her approachable nature and cuteness that no one except for Ruri seems immune to. Everything Asahi does is somehow blamed on Ruri, even when she isn’t directly involved. Everyone is on Asahi’s side. Having tried to escape Asashi and the negativity of those around her on multiple occasions, Ruri has realized that Asahi is willing to follow her everywhere no matter what Ruri tries. While on campus at her university with Asahi; she, Asahi, and a couple of Asahi’s friends/admirers get transported to another world via magic and everyone rushes to Asahi calling her the lady priestess. Ruri, seeing this as her chance to escape Asahi, is told she is an idiot for thinking she could return to her own world. Almost immediately all those in the Kingdom of Nadarsia hate Ruri because Asahi herself keeps clinging to Ruri while ignoring them. Without Asahi’s knowledge they kick Ruri off the hidden forest and Ruri finds herself in the care of a kind, yet ugly, old lady from the dragon kindgom who takes care of her and teaches her about the magic the fairies grant in this world. Surprisingly, the fairies are seem to gather around Ruri and adore her. When Ruri has gotten used to this world she visits the dragon kingdom on her own, gets scared and wears an ancient bracelet given to her by a powerful fairy that allows her to turn into a cat and is given the title “Cherished One” and meets the Dragon King who falls in love with her cat form. Cue title and roll credits!
I say this is relatable because of a toxic frienship I once had. I broke it off with a friend and for a long time things were awkward among my other friends and a lot of people kept insisting that we would make up someday despite me not wanting that. These friends now have realized that it was a lot more than that and funnily enough they have broken it off with her as well. But this is a cute story about a victim finally getting her vengeance and the love and praise she deserves. There’s also cute cat antics and a sprinkle of romance in it.
There is also a Light Novel that some amazing people have translated online! Go support them!
12. Boku no Hero Academia: Vigilantes
Tumblr media
A very familiar title to another one on this list! In a world where 80% of the population has these special abilities called “quirks”, our main character is part of the 80% that does have a quirk. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with a quirk such as fire manipulation or engines in their bodies to fight crime. Himawari Koichi has the quirk known as “Slide and Glide”, giving him the average ability to slide over plain surfaces. Despite this, Koichi has always wanted to be hero and admires Number 1 Hero All Might as his role model. Despite not being a hero, Koichi uses his quirk in public areas, breaking quirk regulation laws, to get to his destination quickly and hates said restrictions. After a series of events Koichi decides to use his quirk, while wearing an All Might hoodie, to do good deeds for the public - all simple things. All he ever does for awhile is give directions, clean up litter, or return dropped items while utilizing his quirk. But things become dangerous when he meets freelance idol Pop☆Step and a quirkless, yet powerful, old man known as Knuckleduster and they somehow become vigilantes for their neighborhood while getting deeply involved in a quirk improvement drug known as Trigger.
This is what I wanted Boku no Hero Academia to be when I first read BNHA. I wanted a quirkless character fighting crime with their own power. I have to admit I was disappointed when Deku got his quirk. The setting of Vigilantes (or Illegals) is before the BNHA timeline. Eraserhead has yet to become a teacher at UA and the original Ingenium is still running around. We get to see an other side of the heroes we love and hate and get to see how vigilantism effects this quirk filled world. Koichi, while also being an All Might fanboy is different from Deku.  Pop☆Step is a cute tsundere idol who is still trying to climb the popularity ranks. Knuckleduster is a mysterious man who fights crime with his own justice and abilities. It’s an eye opener to another aspect of the BNHA world.
13. Bloom into You (Yagate Kimi Ni Naru)
Tumblr media
The romance that isn’t supposed to be? Koito Yuu is a first year in high school who enjoys reading Shoujo manga. The problem(?) is that she doesn’t understand the feeling of love. Nanami Touko is a third year at the same high school that Yuu unintentional watches get confessed to but Touko refuses. Yuu gets recruited in helping the student council that Touko is a part of and realizes that Touko is the same as her. No matter how many people confess to either of them, be it one or dozens, they will never feel anything when it happens. Yuu goes to Touko for help, realizing that they are the same and gets advice to reject someone who confessed to her at her middle school graduation. But immediately after, Touko confesses that if it was Yuu, she could fall in love with her. What results is a story of a not-so romance and a refreshing coming of age story.
This is one messed up romance story. Like the relationship Koito Yuu and Nanami Touko have is so messed up. The upside to this story is that it talks about homosexuality and asexuality with so much lax that it’s refreshing. This manga is cute and entertaining at times and the romance is unorthodox. The character backstories are interesting and heartbreaking and the way the characters interact with each other are interesting. You won’t see what happens in this manga in most manga you come across.
This manga has an anime that is currently airing!

How to Cook the Best Rice You`ve Ever Had
Tumblr media
Rice is the grain that fuels the world.
It's low-cost, easy to expand, and also nutritious, which is why it's a staple food for nearly fifty percent of the world, consisting of greater than one-fifth of the overall calories that us people consume.
What it's not, though, is interesting. I don't think my pet dogs would even liven up for a pot of rice for dinner.
What they-and most people-don' t understand, though, is simply exactly how delicious rice could be when it's prepared to perfection.
They likewise don't understand that obtaining it ideal takes some ability as well as technique, too.
Add too much water, boil for as well long, or utilize too much warmth, and you'll wind up with something ranging from blah to burnt.
Use the proper rice to water ratio, simmer it appropriately, as well as utilize your heat well, however, and also it's entirely various dish.
And that's exactly what this post is going show you: the basic science of making superb rice.
By completion of it, you'll understand just how to turn this humble little grain right into something special and also whip up exceptional rice with ease.
So, if you're all set to prepare the very best rice you have actually ever had, keep reading.
How to Choose the Right Rice
Tumblr media
The first step to food preparation impressive rice is choosing the type of rice you wish to cook.
For the purpose of this article, we're mosting likely to concentrate on the rice most typically consumed: long-grain white rice. The techniques you're mosting likely to discover use equally to all kinds of rice, though, so feel complimentary to attempt your hand at the various selections to discover just what you like most.
The initial point you should recognize is rice comes in three grain sizes-long, tool, and short-and your option must depend upon the texture you such as and the meal you're making.
For example, long-grain rice is best for a pilaf or stir-fry meal whereas medium-grain makes better sushi as well as meals where you want a little bit a lot more eat. And also if you want something velvety like risotto or dessert, after that you'll need short-grain to obtain that rich texture.
Now, there are several selections are long-grain rice, including white, brown, jasmine (Thai), and basmati (Indian/Pakistani).
These rices are the fluffiest and also most flexible due to the fact that they don't clump as well as stick like their medium- as well as short-grain counterparts.
Medium-grain rices consist of Japanese-style rice (made use of making sushi) as well as Bomba (utilized making Spanish paella).
These rices are slightly sticky and also have a stronger, chewier texture once cooked.
The short-grain family of rice has one of the most starch, making it the stickiest and plumpest when cooked.
For example, Arborio is the popular short-grain rice made use of to earn risotto and rice pudding.
Should You Consume Wild rice or White Rice?
This inquiry warrants a post of its very own, truly, however I'll offer the Cliffs Notes here.
The long story brief is brown rice is reduced on the glycemic index and even more nourishing compared to white rice, yet that does not always mean you shouldn't consume white rice.
If you have a healthy and balanced body fat percentage, generally consume a healthy and balanced (healthy) diet, as well as exercise consistently, there's no reason to avoid white rice. Consume the kind of rice that you like most.
How to Store Uncooked Rice
Store your rice in the sealed bag or container it came in, as well as maintain it in an awesome, completely dry place.
Once you open the bag or container, reseal the extra section or move it to a container with a closed lid. Make sure to label your container with the expiry day if you're using wild rice (it does not last as long as white rice).
You could also keep rice in the refrigerator or fridge freezer to further shield it from dust and also pests.
How to Cook the Best Rice
Tumblr media
The very first action to cooking excellent rice is thoroughly rinsing it to get rid of excess starch (and also make the rice less sticky).
This exemption right here is when you're making a velvety recipe like risotto. In that instance, don't wash the rice initially due to the fact that the starch is exactly what provides the meal its texture.
Most individuals simply utilize a filter for washing, yet if you want to truly ensure your rice prepares to prepare, do this:
Add the rice to the pan you're going to prepare it in with adequate water to cover it. Swish the rice around delicately with your fingers up until the water is gloomy, drain pipes the pan and also replenish, and repeat this procedure until the water remains clear after swishing (3 to 5 rinses, generally).
Make sure to fully drain pipes the water out after your last rinse, too-excess fluid will certainly toss off your rice-to-water proportion and food preparation time.
And that brings me to the cornerstone of cooking good rice: the appropriate rice-to-water ratio.
Getting this ideal makes all the difference and also needs just three points: rice, water, as well as a medium pan with a tight-fitting lid.
For every (dry) mug of rice that you intend to prepare, you require to consist of 1 3/4 mugs of water (you could throw in a rub of butter and also pinch of salt too, if you like).
Leave the pan uncovered and also bring the rice to a boil over high warmth, and also as soon as the water is rolling, transform the warmth to low and also cover the pot.
You want to bring it down to a simmer so the rice could absorb the water and begin steaming, which is going to cook the rice ( not boiling water). Hence, if you hear the rice still boiling away in the frying pan as soon as you have actually reduced the warmth, you have to reject the volume even more.
Next, established a timer for 12 minutes and also do not lift the cover or stir the rice. You require to maintain the vapor in the pan.
Once the timer is up, lift the lid quickly to see where points are at.
If you still see water simmering, allow it to cook for a couple much more mins, but maintain a close eye on it. As soon as the liquid is absorbed (no water visibly glittering) and also the rice looks plumped, get rid of the pan from the heat.
Don' t take the rice out of the frying pan simply yet, though. To ensure your rice has that flawlessly even, fluffy structure, you have to mix it as well as then let it rest in the pan with the lid on for at the very least 5 minutes (you could try out different remainder times, as well, as much as 30 mins even!).
Finally remove the lid as well as fluff the rice with a fork. Currently it's ready to serve!
How to Store Cooked Rice
If you have leftover rice or are meal prepping, allow the rice to cool down before storing it. Then location it in an airtight container and refrigerate.
Cooked rice will keep in this manner for 4 to 6 days.
You can likewise freeze it for as much as 6 months.
How to Reheat Rice
Tumblr media
This is just one of the beauties of rice. It's extremely simple to reheat as well as, when done correctly, preferences great every time.
The most fail-safe means to reheat your rice is in the microwave.
Place the rice in a microwave-safe meal and also include a sprinkle of water per offering fist-sized serving.
Then, cover the meal and also cook above for 30 secs, enable the rice to sit for about 15 seconds, and also fluff it with a fork. Repeat home heating and fluffing in 15-second intervals if you 'd such as the rice to be hotter.
If you 'd rather reheat on the stovetop, include the rice to a pan with a splash of water each serving, cover, and heat for 5 mins over reduced heat.
Another yummy method to reheat leftover rice is to pan-fry it. Below's an easy way to do this:
Heat some veggie or peanut oil in a wok or saute frying pan and afterwards add the rice.
Break up any kind of clumps as well as stir it making certain it's equally coated with oil. Continue stirring up until the rice is heated up through and also golden.
Throw in an egg as well as some leftover veggies, maintain stirring, and voila, you've obtained tasty, revamped leftovers!

Once you can make a killer pot of rice, you prepare to go past the basic.
Give these very easy and also tasty recipes a try and I assume you'll be happily stunned how tasty 'healthy and balanced' food such as this can be!

animal crossing switch
PREDICTIONS:
they will change something drastically about the character design (acww: hair, acnl: taller/pants, ac switch: ???)
you still get to be mayor, or some sort of town planner
may be like happy home designer, where you can design entire facilities like shops, schools, etc, however that works
you will be able to choose where animals move in (like in previous games, houses went on top of signs placed around town. you’d be able to place signs wherever)
more public works projects
you will get to choose your face instead of having The Quiz
more customization options in general
an upgraded version of the pattern maker
a dedicated tool for path creation and not just putting paths down via patterns
MORE pattern space regardless
more complex villagers
at least one new species
one to two new personality types
one new shop type
a small online hub, maybe
an in-game gallery where you can upload custom patterns and download them from other players
if that’s not it, you will have to use your phone using the NSO app. i think animal crossing will have app functionality anyway, maybe something like splatnet where you have shop exclusives, but mainly because of voice chat. but i was thinking this app would let you scan QR codes and send them to your game since the switch doesnt have cameras
a new type of collectible (like how acnl added deep sea creatures)
the town for ac switch will be Large. Big. acnl was too tiny, i want something Large, city folk was nice but it could still be… Bigger.
they might bring back amiibo cards and the campsite
free camera in town i think is a 50/50 possibility. the switch is powerful enough to handle it but at the same time the current view is iconic i think and idk if they’d get rid of that. i will predict better cameras in places like the museum though
graphically, it will look nice. the way the ac track looks in mario kart is the dream but, i can see them doing the exact same thing from acnl. which is Not what i want
they’ll put in all furniture from pocket camp
they’ll put uh.. plants from pocket camp (birch trees please)
monthly free dlc like in new leaf
inevitable japanese-exclusive content
WISH LIST:
bat, raccoon, weasel, otter, or possum villagers
fantasy species like dragons, gryphons
more fantasy villagers at the very least (draco, julien)
biomes/landscape variety: be able to choose different town types such as mountains, forests, deserts, grasslands, tropical, whatever. or start out with the regular forest type town, and have the option to change it into anything (maybe it changes depending on what you plant? like if an area has a lot of cacti, the grass will disappear and turn into scrub)
more options for an urban/modern town
more variety in personalities per species. cats for example, a majority of the male cats are either grumpy or lazy. no smugs, and one (1) jock
more complex villagers. i want a relationship system. i’m not talking about marrying or dating anyone, i just want friendships to mean something. i want to be able to progress through a relationship.
^^ related, i want more complex villagers in terms of their OWN personality. they’re always upbeat and in a good mood in acnl. they have no bite. they lack any personality. they’re so bland. i want a villager to move in and hate me for absolutely no reason. and then maybe i can do errands for him or something, and we can slowly become friends. SOMETHING other than *knows each other for 5 seconds* “hehe we’re best friends :)”. in acnl i made NO friends other than zell and kiki (who is a staple villager for me) because i had no incentive to make any friends. everyone is exactly the same. boring
^^ maybe animals in a town can have relationships with each other? like dotty and felicity are friends, but dotty hates poncho. i dont know what this could do other than more errands to run but it would help the town feel more alive
Big Leafy Trees
fruits and vegetables. maybe leif can sell planters in his shop that allow you to grow things like strawberries or tomatoes that you can sell
cooking? i’ve seen people talk about cooking ~LiKe BrEaTh Of ThE wILd~ (bc thats the only nintendo game that exists i guess) where it effects your stats and energy/stamina and tbh animal crossing does NOT need that. i think you should be able to cook for food as furniture items, or you can give food to villagers as gifts to increase your Friendship Points. Or you could sell it for a a little bit of Money
more furniture, but that’s a given with any ac game
customizable pants! in acnl they gave us the option to customize different types of shirts but i want customizable pants and skirts now
yards. even if they’re small
half-tile placement for furniture like in happy home designer (idk if half-tiles are in pocket camp)
more customization options for houses, like windows and doors (like HHD)
an online marketplace where you can go and trade with people online without having to need to go to their town and swap FCs
nice beaches, the ones in new leaf kinda suck imo

Thanks for the tag @zip00198704. Sorry if it took me this long to answer it. 😅
1.  How many languages do you speak; if you could speak another, what would you choose?
- As a Filipino, we have a lot of different dialects so apart from English and Tagalog, I also speak Hiligaynon (which is the dialect of my province) and a little Bisaya (Mindanao) and Karay-a (Iloilo). Aside from that, I am currently taking Japanese language classes and I can read (only) a little Russian.
2.  Do you think you could beat a lie-detector test?
-Nope. Lol. I think I will immediately fail the first question. 🤣
3.  What’s the last place you visited that made you think ‘yeah, I could live here’?
-Davao City? That's the only place I have visited for the past 2 years but I don't know if I want to live there. The place is really crowded and I hate big cities. So that may be a no.
4.  Do you own any antiques and if so, will you describe one?
-No.
5.  What is your typical late night snack?
-Cheese or yogurt.
6.  When you play Jenga, are you more likely to pull from the middle of the row or from the edge?
- edge.
7.  There’s a spider in your shower.  Do you kill it, relocate it, or ignore it?
- kill it. Lol. After screaming a bit.
8.  The internet doesn’t exist and someone burned all your cookbooks.  What’s the nicest dish you can make from scratch without following a recipe?
- Adobo. Lol. That's a staple Filipino food, I think it's a sin if a Pinoy does not know how to cook it with or without a guide.
9.  You absolutely must get a tattoo RIGHT NOW, the world for some reason depends on it.  What do you get?
- Darth Vader or Van Gogh on my arm. Or Rise Atlantis.
10.  I need to sew a button back on this blouse, how long does it take you to put needle and thread in my hand?
- Really fast, lol. I always have a sewing kit nearby and thanks to home economics classes I have mastered the art of attaching the thread to the needle quick so lol.
11.  We’re starting a commune for fic writers.  What country should it be in?
- Japan? Idk but that's the first country that came into my mind.
I wasn't able to come up with any questions at all. Sorry, I suck at following rules. 😅

Cooking Lessons (Jax X MC)
Book: Bloodbound
Rating: PG-13 (Some suggestive language)

Lexi walked in the door after another long night at work. She'd expected to smell the aroma of one Jax's master chef-like creations wafting through the air the moment she stepped inside, but that was not the case. Instead of food sizzling on the stove, the apartment was relatively silent. She looked over to see Jax sitting on the couch reading a book.
"Hi Jax." Lexi bent down to give him a quick peck on the lips. A surprised yelp escaped as Jax brought her down onto his lap, kissing her deeply.
He pulled back with a smile. "I missed you today."
"I missed you too, but I'm also starving. Any reason you didn't make dinner for me today? Not that I think you should have to have dinner ready and on the table every time I come home or anything, but you've kind of set the precedent. I have high expectations now." Lexi teased.
Jax chuckled. "I know, I've been letting you off too easy. I'm worried you'd waste away if I wasn't here to feed you."
"What do you think I do when we're not together? I got along just fine before you came into the picture, thank you."
"Lexi, you cannot survive off of take-out alone."
"Sure I can." Lexi smirked. "This is New York. My take-out options are limitless." Jax tilted his head and frowned disapprovingly. "Fine. Are you going to teach me to cook then? Last time you barely let me help you. I couldn't even cut the vegetables to your liking."
"We didn't have much time then. Now we have all the time in the world." Jax kissed her forehead. "I can be patient."
Lexi hopped up. "Well, some of us aren't immortal and need food to survive, so let's hurry up and get going." Jax shook his head, his lips curving upward into a smile as he followed her into the kitchen.
Jax revealed they would be making Yakisoba with chicken, a Japanese stir-fry he had prepared several times for Lexi because she liked it so much. It seemed simple enough. Jax got to work gathering the vegetables, chicken, noodles, and other ingredients. Lexi selected a bottle of Pinot Grigio from the fridge and poured them each a class. "Cooking is more fun when you drink."
Jax took a sip of his wine. "I'm not sure how you would know that, seeing as I always cook while you just sit and watch me with a glass of wine in hand."
"I'm pretty sure we've established that's because you are a control freak in the kitchen and probably don't even trust me to make toast without burning it." Lexi backed Jax up against the counter kissing him slowly, slipping her tongue past his lips still cool and sweet from the wine. She thought maybe she could feel a hint of his arousal before he spun out of her grasp.
"If you think I'm falling for that, you have another thing coming. You can't use your irresistible charms to get out of cooking this time."
Lexi turned her expression into a mock pout. "Okay, okay. What's first?"
Jax reached for a bag on the counter. "I bought these for you." Lexi pulled out the contents to reveal a set of colorful knives. "Every chef needs a good set of knives."
"Thank you Jax. That's very sweet of you. I'm going to pretend it's not just because you don't want me using yours."
"Of course not...well maybe a little. I am a bit protective of my knives. But I also wanted you to have your own now that you'll be cooking more."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves. This may turn our completely inedible causing you to banish me from the kitchen once an for all."
"I'm watching you, Lexi." Jax narrowed his eyes but couldn't keep a grin off his face. You better not not mess up just to get out of future cooking duties."
"Who me? Never. Lexi laughed and then grabbed a carrot from the counter, placing it on her cutting board with knife in hand.
"Wait. Watch me first," Jax instructed.
Lexi rolled her eyes. She couldn’t decide if she found this side of Jax annoying or endearing. "How hard can it be to cut a carrot? Never mind, I remember the last time. I'd hate to have inadequately cut vegetables.”
"Lexi, it may not seem like a big deal, but you need a consistent size and thickness to ensure proper texture once cooked. Jax proceeded to cut up a carrot with superhuman speed and precision. "See, even even slices. Now you try."
"Once again, I think you are forgetting I'm human. I don't have special vampire ninja knife skills like you. Slow it down a bit for me please?" Lexi asked.
"Sorry." Jax smiled bashfully. "Sometimes its hard to remember how to do things normally." He took another carrot and showed her step by step. "Make sure to keep the tip of the knife down and keep your fingertips of of the way like this." After he finished, he placed the knife in her hand properly and gave her the go ahead. He assessed her work and nodded approvingly. "Not bad. Now do you know how to boil noodles?"
Lexi glared at him. "You think I've never boiled noodles before? I've only made Kraft Mac N Cheese about a million times. It was a staple for me and Lily"
Jax shuddered. "I thought only kids ate that crap. Sorry, not a fan but you can keep eating it...when I'm not around."
"Anyway, yes, I think I can handle boiling noodles...jerk." She punched him in the shoulder playfully and they both laughed. They worked together preparing the rest of the meal. She could tell Jax had to hold back from jumping in and taking over several times, but he was a great teacher and she felt pretty confident her dish was turning out well. After all the components were cooked, she tossed it all together in the pan, and it looked almost as good as when Jax made it himself. She plated it up and they sat down at the table for the moment of truth. “Ready to grade your student, Jax?
“At least you don’t have to worry about food poisoning when you are already dead,” Jax joked.
“Oh you hush. Just try it, Jax.” Lexi’s stomach rumbled. “Well if you don’t want to try it first, I will. I need food right now. “She stabbed some chicken and vegetables and twirled the noodles around her fork." The vegetables we soft yet slightly crunchy, the chicken was tender, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The flavor of the dish was just like she remembered when Jax made it, savory with a hint of heat. "Mmm, I think my first lesson was a success."
Jax followed and put some into his mouth. Lexi waited impatiently for his verdict. "If you were trying to get out of more cooking lessons in the future, you failed. This is delicious. I can hardly tell the difference between yours and mine."
"Well I did have an amazing instructor, so it was difficult to go wrong." Lexi leaned across the table to give Jax another quick kiss. “Maybe next time I can try something on my own.” Jax made a face at the suggestion. “Hey don’t you have any faith in me? I’m a quick learner.”
“That you are. I suppose, like I said, I’m already dead so your cooking can’t kill me.”
Lexi threw a piece of chicken at Jax’s head, but instead he easily caught it in his mouth. “Damn you and your vampire reflexes. I was trying to hit you with that.”
“Okay, I’ll be nice. I would hate for you to deny me dessert.” Jax winked at Lexi.
“Oh, are we baking together now too?” Lexi asked earnestly.
Jax shook his head. “That’s not quite what I meant.” Their plates nearly empty, Jax scooped her up out of her chair, whispering in her ear as he carried her to the bedroom. “You taste sweeter than any dessert I’ve ever had.” Lexi was certain whatever Jax had planned would be much more fun than baking.

Food And Food B.S.
(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve's Tumblr.  Find out more at my newsletter.)
If you follow me or know me, you know I'm a nut for healthy eating (punctuated with intermittent chocolate and pizza because not giving those up).  However as I get into eating healthy, I also find tons of BS, bad advice, and ignorant ideas.  I'd like to cut loose on a few.
Read on.  It'll probably give you ammo next time some pretentious git gets up in your face.
Please note that, since so much BS surrounds food, I'm SURE some of my ideas are flawed as well.  I did my best to cover the ones I'm sure of, but no doubt I'll have some regrets later, at least from what I didn't include.
THERE IS NO IDEAL DIET FOR EVERYONE
Anyone pitching the perfect diet is wrong.  Even people I admire or who are 90% right about stuff tend to do this, and its sad and irritating and wrong.  Some diets are so wrong for certain people they're unhealthy.
We all have different needs, situations, challenges, and advantages.  We have to find the diet that works for us.  This is where reading up and a good doctor help.
(I also take this personally as it's hard to recommend a book to someone, then add "but this part is BS.")
The best advice I ever heard for diets that is applicable across the board boils down to:
Eat diversely (my fave is the power plate, equal amounts of grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables.  If you add animal products its just a part of that)
Eat the least processed food you can.
THERE IS NO SUPERFOOD
Gods save us from the stupid "X food will solve your problems" diets.  Yeah, they are usually obviously BS but still people fall for them and then the BS makes its way into mainstream though.  This is simply not true.
This doesn't mean there aren't absolutely AWESOME foods that are great for various reasons.  its just they won't solve all your problems.  I do recommend finding awesome foods you like, but none is your perfect food.
By the way my perfect foods are:
Cabbage - Low cal, so many nutrients, so easy to use.
Chickpea flour -You can make anything with it, it's got protein and fiber.
Garbanzo beans - Serve them straight up, mash them into hummus, make them into a casserole.
Peanut Butter - Protein, fats, delicious.
Spinach - Just a good green.\
Anyway, find your own superfoods.
EATING OUT IS FINE
We often hear eating out is bad for us, but that usually focuses on restaurants delivering highly prepared calorie bombs.  But that's only one kind of eating out - going to some pricey place that loads you up with unhealthy stuff.
First, delis and supermarkets and local markets often have tons of great premade food.  This food, prepared there (or nearby) is close to home cooking on a larger scale.  Read labels, ask about preparations, and see if they do anything custom.
Secondly, plenty of places that make food have cold or frozen premade meals of equal quality to their deli (usually, they're the deli in a package).
Finally, some restaurants make healthy food, post calorie counts and ingredients, and will do custom stuff for you.  This lets you eat reasonably healthy.
Let's face it, going to a deli, eating out, etc. is sometimes easier.  So don't feel guilty.  Heck, in some cases it doesn't cost much more than doing it yourself.
By the way, some of the best places I've found are specialty and ethnic markets.  The food there is often fresh, well-made, and uses good ingredients.  I usually go to a local Asian market for quick locally-made bentos, and another local market is my go-to for guacamole.
PRECUT/SHREDDED/SLICED FOOD IS OK
Look, I'm for decreasing unneeded packaging.  I hate waste.  I know that buying pre-cut foods and such may be excessive.
Know what?  Some people need that.
Maybe you're in such a rush you don't want to shred a damn cabbage.  Fine, buy pre-cut.
Maybe you've got a physical challenge and aren't up for cutting vegetables for thirty minutes.  Fine, buy pre-sliced.
Maybe you're stressed or facing other mental challenges and don't want to plan preparing something complex.  Good, get something pre-shredded.
Yes, it involves waste, so recycle the containers properly.  Sure, it'd be nice if you could take reusable containers to stores to get a quart of cut onions or something.  Maybe we can work towards less waste as a people.
But until then, don't shame people for using pre-cut food and the like.  Life's tough.
CANNED/FROZEN/ANYTHING IS PROBABLY PRETTY GOOD
Look, as noted I love fresh food.  It's the best thing for you.  Sometimes you have to get "fresh-ish" with canned or frozen foods.  Look, I dunno about you but I'm not going to spend a ton of time preparing garbanzo beans just to mash them into hummus.
From what I can tell canned or frozen vegetables, prepared properly and right after harvest, are pretty good.  Just make sure its not got a lot of added stuff that's not good for you (added salt, preservatives).
Also cans are easy to store, take on trips, last long, and don't use power to keep.  So extra advantages.
THERE'S NO NEED TO COOK FANCY MEALS
Cookbooks and cooking magazines have lovely spreads with all sorts of beautiful foods.  Then you read the recipes and some of them take a load of time and effort which you don't have.
I love to cook.  I love to make food.  I also know sometimes we don't have the time or ingredients or want to make an effort.  Know what?  It's OK to not make fancy stuff or complex meals, no matter how the magazine pictures look.
Let's take a look at a poki bowl, that food fad popping up everywhere.  Know what it is?  A bunch of stuff in a bowl with a sauce.  "Stuff in a bowl with a sauce" is a common form of food all over the place, but we act like it's fancy or special if we slap a name on it and charge fifteen bucks.
A few ideas for you:
A classic "bowl meal" Idea I've seen is just mix a cup of cooked rice, 1-2 cups of greens (probably steamed in a microwave), and half a can of beans.  Then throw on some spices or flavoring, and you're done.
Kimchi allows you to transform any pile of stuff into a spicy pile of stuff.  It's a staple for me.
Chazuke, the classic Japanese quickie of rice+green tea gave me plenty of ideas.  Basically I make a bowl meal, but add an herbal tea (usually lemon or ginger) and a few spices, and instant soup.  By the way, lemon tea and garlic tastes a lot like chicken for some reason.
Sometimes I have sat down to a pile of greens with lemon juice for dressing and a bowl of garbanzo beans in soy sauce.  Done.
SO THOSE ARE MY THOUGHTS
So that's my thoughts on food and food BS.  Hope they help out.  Feel free to add other ideas, or tell me where I'm wrong - it's not like I knew this stuff immediately, I had to learn it.

Best Korean Noodles
Find the greatest Korean ramen here. You've arrived at the proper location. My sisters request ramen from my Korean husband at some point every time we travel to our home in the United Arab Emirates. They are capable of making it themselves, but they once realized as they watched him prepare a dinner that they had only been boiling water. If you know where to find decent Korean ramen and how to make it, Korean quick noodles may actually be very satisfying. Korean ramen instant noodles has received a lot of attention recently, which is typical of Korean cuisine.
Simply put, ramen is a Japanese noodle soup made with a variety of noodles, a richly flavorful broth, and a variety of meats or vegetables, frequently topped with a boiled egg.

Now check out the Best Korean Ramen.
Nongshim Shin Ramyun
We always have a few of them in our home at any given moment, and we always pack them when we go outside of Korea. These are likely the most well-known Korean ramyeon. nong shim ramen from Nongshim is highly known worldwide, making it one of the simpler brands to locate in local markets and online. If you've never tried it or aren't accustomed to Korean spices, it will be a little spicy the first time even though most Koreans don't consider this to be one of the spicier selections. It was, at least, to me. But I've come to like it over time.
Ramen Ottogi Jin
The taste of Jin Ramen is quite similar to Shin Ramyun, with the exception of a stronger red pepper flavor, which my husband always has on hand. Although the one with the blue is the more popular one, this one also has some variation. There is also a red option that is hotter. When you're missing Korea, the beef and kimchi flavor of Jin Ramen's broth will satisfy you. Most people concur that Jin Ramen is often considered to be milder than other ramyeon brands, making it a decent choice for individuals who are unfamiliar with the spice and need an introduction.
Chapagetti, Nongshim
I initially had my doubts about Nongshim's fusion-style quick noodles with chajang sauce, but my spouse absolutely adores them. Carrots, onions, ground beans, and other grains are included in this delicious sweet ramyeon meal. The meal is Korean-Chinese, but what sets it different is the distinctive black sauce that tops it. It also qualifies as a "dry" or "no-broth" ramyeon.
Spicy Nongshim Neoguri Seafood (Udon Noodles)
The peculiar spicy seafood flavor and thick udon-style noodles are the main reasons why neoguri gained popularity. It continues to be one of Nongshim's most well-liked items and is produced with genuine fish components. This is the option you should try if you prefer thicker noodles. Both a hot seafood and a mild seafood are available in this dish.
Bibim Paldo Men
This no-broth instant noodle has a gochujang, or hot red pepper paste, sauce topping, and is one of my absolute must-haves. To appreciate this, you MUST add a hard-boiled egg, cucumbers, and carrots. Summertime is when it truly works. For the greatest chewy consistency, take this recipe from the boiling water as soon as it's through cooking and quickly rinse with cold water. You will feel bad if you don't make that stride or speed.
Nongshim AnSung TangMyun
Nongshim's AnSung TangMyun, one of my all-time faves, is actually the sixth-best-selling ramyeon in Korea. It has more of a miso flavor than the extremely spicy ramyeons, which is probably why I was drawn to it. At this point, it is among my go-to meals when we travel abroad.
Tumblr media
The most popular ramen variation—which is actually far more well-liked than the original—is packaged instant ramen. Although it might not exactly replicate the feeling of consuming fresh ramen noodles in a slow-simmered bone broth, this product is generally adored, from the dining room to the dorm room. They are, in many respects, a culinary staple in their own right.
Commonly, after boiling the noodles for two to three minutes, a seasoning package is added to the hot water to create the broth. However, creative chefs have come up with countless inventive uses for instant ramen, including ramen stir-fries, sandwiches, salads, waffles, chile rellenos, and even desserts.
