⛧ GOJO SATORU

(The Exorcist - 1973)

It was a very hot night. The type of night in which even mosquitoes could drop dead from the heat at any second. It felt like you were in an oven, so surely, it made no sense that your boyfriend, Satoru, kept you in the death grip of his hug like a koala hanging from a tree.

A pretty desperate koala latched with his abdomen to your back.

“Toru, please, I can’t breathe,” you insisted, trying to move his hands from your waist just to get a few inches back of freedom. It backfired, and he tightened all around you. 

“You don’t, babe,” he cooed, nuzzling around the sweaty nape of your neck, “you just need to be here.” 

He sounded cuddly, definitely a little clingy, but you thought it was cute how after you both turned off the classic rendition of The Exorcist, Satoru gripped you and didn’t let go since.

You huffed, accepting defeat. 

“Okay, but I need to at least drink some water and I also need to go to the bathroom,” you told him, shuffling around over the bed sheets.

Satoru didn’t flinch, still gripping on you like you were the last flatscreen on sale during a Black Friday. 

“Satoru.”

Your voice contained a warning (a warning coming mostly from your bladder). 

“Go in the morning! It’s so cozy,” he whined, letting go from you just enough for you to slightly turn back and look at his messy white hair covering his playful blue eyes, which decorated a remarkably adorable pout.

It would be cuter if you weren't on the verge of peeing yourself on the bed. 

“It’s not! Satoru, it’s searing hot, we’re both drenched and I need to pee!” 

Satoru pressed a quick kiss to your lips and rested his mouth over your hair. 

“No, you don’t.” 

“Sir, you’re not the boss of my pee.”

He chuckled softly and made it abundantly clear he wouldn’t let you go willingly.

“Oh, I’m not getting a urinary tract infection because you’re too scared to be in the room alone after a cheesy horror movie!” you protested while chuckling back, starting to wrestle around with him, failing miserably to free yourself from the giant’s grip, “I have to go to the bathroom now!” 

“Then I’ll go with you!” he conceded, finally freeing your waist and jumping himself up off the bed with a grin.

You sighed with a half smile on your face at his antics. 

“Dear Lord Almighty.”

⛧ FUSHIGURO TOJI

(Hereditary - 2018)

You had barely managed to get around the second isle in the grocery store before your phone started blowing up with calls. You had left Toji watching a horror movie while Megumi was napping in his own room as you took a quick run to the shop. You had forgotten to buy a few things for dinner earlier that day. 

Your phone had already vibrated a few times, the tell-tale sign you got fired up with quite a few text messages.

“Yes, Toji?” you said while answering the phone, “I left you watching a movie and just came down quick to get some groceries, what’s up?” 

“The movie is finished,” Toji answered in his characteristically nonchalant way, but offered no further explanation. 

“I still have some things to grab around here. How’s Megumi?” 

“He’s fine, I’m in his room. He’s still sleeping.” 

“Oh, good.” 

You had committed to memory the way Toji would every night sit on little Megumi’s end of the bed, and silently look at him before smiling and leaving his room. He never connected the dots of how you would always, somehow, need something from the kitchen during that same time, just to walk by the door and see them both.

However, this was too early for his nightly ritual. Megumi was sure to wake up from his nap soon.

Then, a thought crossed your mind. 

“Toji.” 

“What?” 

“Are you scared? After the movie? That’s why you’ve been texting and calling me like crazy?”

He scoffed on the other side of the line. 

“Of course not, I’m not a little kid.” 

You kept silent for a few moments, and he didn’t say anything else, still lingering on a bated breath. 

“Well, if that’s the case, then I think I’ll just run to the convenience store quickly and get us some-” 

“No! Just come home already,” he complained, and you couldn’t help but giggle. 

“Only if you ask nicely.” 

Toji groaned.

”Please, babe, come home and let’s eat dinner.” 

“Fine, I’ll be back in ten.”

⛧ NANAMI KENTO

(It - 2017)

A ritual you and Nanami had after you broke your leg — and got prescribed lots of bed rest for that — was watching a different movie every night before sleeping. 

You’d usually doze off shortly after while your husband would keep reading his books by himself, in his own personal nightly routine. He’d make good use of that extra time he was always awake to get a water jug from the kitchen and leave it by your side, just in case you felt thirsty during the night (which, to be fair, you always did).

This time, however, after watching the “It” remake of 2017, you weren't feeling quite sleepy, so you decided to doom scroll on your phone while your husband read. 

You did notice a funny thing, though.

An hour had passed, and he hadn’t moved from the bed.

“Kento,” you called, blocking your phone’s screen and looking at him.

He put his hand over your thigh softly, not to disturb the cast under the knee that was already propped up comfortably by a pillow, and kept reading, holding his book with his other hand.

“Yes, sweetheart?” 

“Aren’t you going to get the jug of water for the night?” 

“Soon,” Nanami replied, his eyes making the quickest glance down the dark corridor, so quick you barely noticed, “soon.” 

“Ken, honey, I’m getting thirsty,” you cooed, resting your hand over his.

He looked over to you and put his book with open pages down on the nightstand.

“I apologize, darling,” he replied, leaning over and planting a soft kiss on your lips. “Would you mind if I just finished this chapter?”

His voice sounded so velvety and sweet, honestly, how could you say no?

“No problem,” you replied, and he smiled before sitting back and pulling his book into his hands again. However, once more, his eyes glanced down the dark corridor.

“Kento, I have a quick question, though. I promise not to keep interrupting your reading.” 

“You can interrupt me whenever you want. What is it?” 

“Why do you keep staring down the corridor?”

Nanami was clearly taken aback, even if he attempted to feign nonchalance.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, love.” 

“Oh, come on, you do…” you began, right before the realization dawned on you.

“Kento, did you get spooked from the movie?”

Nanami turned his head to look at you, but his expression was not exactly surprised. He seemed more like a kid who had been caught stealing cookies from the jar before dinner time.

“Excuse me?” 

“Light of my life, you never take this long to get the jug, and also, you are staring at that dark corridor. I’m sure of it.” 

“I will get it, right after I finish the chapter,” he replied with little to no conviction in his voice, “and you’re always fast asleep when I do. How do you know how long I usually take?”

You stared at him, in all his 6 feet tall glory, and bit down a chuckle. 

“I didn’t know you were afraid of clowns,” you said, trying not to grin. 

“Darling, I’m not afraid of clowns,” Kento replied sounding slightly offended while he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Fine, let me go get your water.”

Nanami put his book down, walked towards the room’s door, but didn’t fail to take a second before turning the corridor’s light on prior to walking towards the kitchen. You heard the kitchen’s light being turned on too.

Shortly after, he was back. Nanami put the water jug accompanied by a cup on your nightstand, and laid down.

“Thanks, Ken. Good night, I love you.”

“Good night. I love you too, darling.”

There was still something off, though.

“Ken, why are we sleeping with the night lamp on?”

He pretended to not hear you.

⛧ HIGURUMA HIROMI

(The Shining - 1980)

You had noticed it happening for the past hour of the movie you were both watching, The Shining. Hiromi wasn’t someone very vocal about his discomforts, but his body would occasionally betray him. 

With each passing twenty minutes or so, you noticed your fiancée had inched himself closer and closer to you, with the feeble excuse that he wanted to be closer to the popcorn. His hand was diving in the pot, picking a single popcorn at a time, as the rain tapped violently against your windows.

His eyes were glued to the screen, and for a second, you couldn’t quite remember the last time he had blinked ever since the movie started. 

“Hiro,” you whispered at him, “are you enjoying the movie?”

Hiromi simply nodded, not looking away from the screen. 

“Are these actual ghosts or is Jack just going insane?” he asked just below his breath, putting another single unit of popcorn in his mouth. 

“I mean, going from the book, the Overlook Hotel is haunted,” you whispered, “but Kubrick wanted to dive more into that psychological aspect of the horror. Stephen King really hated this movie,” you concluded, shoving a handful of popcorn in yours. 

“Did he? Why?” 

“Mostly because the hotel should be the corrupting factor, Jack wasn’t supposed to be cuckoo crazy from the start like Kubrick made him to be,” you replied with your mouth full.

Hiromi huffed, blinking for the first time in God knows how many minutes. 

“I guess no one is, truly.”

You smiled and laid your head on his shoulder, cozying up against Hiromi’s body warmth. 

“Oh, this one’s good,” you stated, heightening his already sharp attention to the events unfolding in front of him.

This was the scene where Hallorann, the cook, went back to the hotel after Danny managed to ask him for help. By this point, Jack was already roaming through the Overlook with his signature axe and well, what would happen was pretty obvious, but still.

Hallorann came walking down the corridor, his steps against the linoleum floor being the only sound filling the space. The tension grew, Danny’s face in the dark showed up, and you propped yourself for the big jump scare.

However, at the very moment Jack jumped into the frame bearing his axe…

The lights in the entire house went out.

You didn’t get a second to process it, though. Before you knew it, the popcorn bowl flew over, meeting its fateful end on the ground, popcorn spread all over you both and the floor, the blanket you and Hiromi were both under became a crumpled messy ball while falling over. He yanked you over with his arms around you so violently your lungs struggled for a second. To call that a hug would be sugar coating it (a lot).

Hiromi was holding onto you for dear life.

The power took a few seconds to come back, and when it did, you realized he had his eyes sewn shut, opening them softly as light hit his eye lids. 

It took you a few labored breaths to ask, 

“Do you want to watch something els-“ 

“Yes.”

⛧ KUSAKABE ATSUYA

(Cabin in the woods - 2011) 

“Get up!” was the only thing you heard before falling off the side of the bed in utter disorientation. Seconds before, you had been sleeping peacefully, and your boyfriend, Kusakabe, should’ve been by your side.

However, as you regained your senses, you saw him standing with his back against the wall beside the bedroom door, in the dark, holding onto his katana. 

“Atsuya, what happened?” you inquired, still half dazed, but adrenaline definitely kicking in from the way he was carrying himself. Alert signs went up in your mind. 

“There’s something in the house,” he whispered urgently, signaling for you to pick up your weapon too.

Your sorcerer instincts came fully awake and you pulled your dagger from the bedside table, walking towards him in a crouch. 

“What grade do you think it is?” you asked, looking up at him. 

Apart from him being like this, though, you didn’t sense anything. Not yet.

Before answering you, he darted himself out of the bedroom — something considerably uncharacteristic for him — and you followed him, alert and confused. 

“The assistants, and the lab, they-“ you heard Kusakabe mumbling to himself as he was walking around the house, “always giving me more work. Them and the teens, no one can do their work right, shit.” 

… What now? 

“Atsu, what are you talking about? Where’s the curse?” you insisted, “what grade is it? What is it like? Should I call Gojo?” 

You were now definitely starting to feel the pain in the back of your neck and the base of your back from falling off the bed. 

“No, we can handle it ourselves, we always have to, no one knows how to do their job and-“ the senseless mumbling ensued, “and the merman…”

Oh, no. You finally realized what was going on.

Irritation instantly hit you, and you walked towards Kusakabe, yanking his katana from his hands, looking very seriously at the sorcerer before chastising him. 

“You gotta be kidding me! You woke me up in the middle of the night and scared me half to death because of a nightmare?!”

He blinked multiple times, shaking his head, and looked back at you. 

“You’re not listening, the merman-“ 

”There is no merman, love of mine,” you replied, sighing and pinching the bridge of your nose, “this was one of the monsters in the movie we watched before going to sleep. The one where there is a lab, and monsters, and young uni students going on a trip, being idiots and getting killed… Don’t you remember?” 

After a few seconds, the realization finally dawned on him, and he put his hand on his forehead. 

“There is no merman?” 

“There is no merman, Atsuya. I promise.”

You had to hold down a laugh before leading a very confused Kusakabe back into the bedroom, tucking him for a — hopefully — calm night of sleep.

⛧ IEIRI SHOKO

(The Autopsy of Jane Doe - 2016)

Your girlfriend had the pokerest of poker faces. So you didn’t expect her to be jumping around from fright or anything of the sort.

However, the cigarette she let burn out completely untouched, still hanging from her mouth, betrayed just how scared shitless she was. The entire thing had become one continuous trail of ashes that ended on her lips, and funnily enough, it hadn’t fallen.

Yet.

Discreetly, you picked up the ashtray from the coffee table and hovered it under the cigarette, just in time for the tube of ashes to fall perfectly down in it.

Still, no movements from your girlfriend. 

You waved your hand in front of her face, but she just stood there, sitting down in the exact same position she had been ever since the movie started, like a marble statue.

“Shoko, sweetheart, are you okay?” 

Shoko only hummed what could be interpreted as a “yes” in return, and you couldn’t help but let out a soft giggle. Trying to ease her out of the fear, you tried joking a little. 

“So, this cursed corpse is kind of different from the ones Principal Yaga makes, hm? His are cuter, for sure.”

Another soulless mm-hmm came out, and you wondered if you had maybe taken this horror night a little too far. She did autopsies for a living, after all. Perhaps this was too close to home. 

“Honey? Love?” 

No response. 

“Do I have to call Gojo to pull you out of this?”

This finally elicited a you can’t be serious right now response from her, and it eased your worries, even if just a little.

Picking up the remote, you paused the movie, and put a hand on her shoulder. 

“Shoko, would you like to watch something else?”

She sighed, seemingly relieved, and turned her face to yours. 

“I want to watch my actual autopsies videos. Like, ones without curses in them.” 

You chuckled softly before planting a tender kiss on her lips. 

“You’re weird. Of course, love you.”

terukane headcanons? (⁠゜⁠o⁠゜⁠;

I’ve been waiting to answer this one all day, I needed to give it all my brain power

• They met when Akane joined the Student Council in his first year of high school, meaning they haven’t known each other too long

• They were aware of each other before that, of course. Teru knows everybody, especially the Seven Mysteries. And it’s impossible NOT to know who Teru Minamoto is

• They actually met in passing before Akane joined the Student Council but Teru was in a rush so he brushed him off, with little concern for his manners since Akane is a Mystery. This gave Akane a pretty sour impression of Teru to begin with

• Their first proper encounter was rather hostile. As soon as Fuji was out of the Student Council room, Teru drew his sword and tied Akane up. He confronted him about his stance as a Clock Keeper and revealed himself as an exorcist. They agreed to work together so long as they kept an eye on each other, and neither of them broke the other’s trust. Another poor impression

• While Akane “hates” Teru, Teru doesn’t hate Akane. He wants to be his friend but he has no concept of social norms so he goes about it all wrong. There’s also the element of him hating supernaturals AND being a sadist so ofc when he has a supernatural on hand it’s easy for him to relieve stress via bullying and torture…somebody save Akane

• But Akane is really good at reading people, so he doesn’t hold it against Teru as much as he claims to. He recognizes that he is the only person Teru gets to be completely himself around, the good and the bad with no facade. So he complains, but he puts up with it

• We’re making this a mutual au because as we all know, one-sided ships are the only thing I’m too emotionally mature for

• Teru has liked Akane ever since he met him, although he repressed it. A cute boy with brown-blue eyes and auburn hair…then he turns out to be someone Teru can be completely comfortable around…an exception to his cruel lifestyle…someone he can trust…someone who puts up with all his worst flaws…it would be weird if he didn’t fall for him, tho Teru’s classic internalized homophobia won’t let him see it that way

• Akane’s moment was chapter 79. He’s pretty smart when it comes to love so he didn’t panic about it, but it did confuse him. He also felt guilty for it, he thought the only person he could fall for was Aoi. Falling for Teru felt like a betrayal to her, so he put those feelings on the back burner. He had to figure out what was going to happen with him and Aoi before he thought about Teru (let’s just say Aoi wasn’t ready for a relationship or smth, I don’t want to completely write her out I’ll put her in therapy instead)

• Before he got resolution with Aoi tho he had to get payback for all the torment Teru put him through. Duh. So he starts flirting with him when Teru least expects it. It’s funny to watch the way his brain short-circuits when he’s flattered by someone he’s actually interested in. He gets a good few laughs out of it but once Teru realizes what’s going on he adapts and starts flirting back. They’re both good at catching each other off-guard tho, making each other flustered is simply another part of their rivalry

• They both knew the other liked them long before they actually got together. They had multiple conversations about it but they both had their own hesitations. Teru was the last one to give in because once Akane realizes he wants something, he’ll stop at nothing to get it

• Their first kiss was very spontaneous and unconventional, it probably happened in the middle of a supermarket or smth. Fans tend to write it as a quiet, personal moment but nah, I think they both romanticized the hell out of something that was objectively awkward

• When Teru gets comfortable with his sexuality, there is no stopping him from the PDA. He makes a big scene out of greeting Akane every morning at school, and clings to him whenever Student Council meetings get boring. It’s partially to annoy him but he’s also Just That Clingy. Everyone knows they’re dating and while some students have a problem with it, Teru learns not to care

• They go on lots of “childish” dates so Teru can experience all the childhood things he missed out on. Playgrounds, arcades, amusement parks, Build-A-Bear, you name it. Remember when Kou took Mitsuba to a sandbox?? Yeah that’s an ideal date for Terukane. Though Akane doesn’t get as much out of it, he still enjoys himself. As long as he’s with Teru he doesn’t really care what he’s doing

• They plan their future together a lot so Akane can lecture Teru about retiring from exorcism. It’s an ongoing argument between them, but not in like an aggressive way. Teru knows that Akane just wants him to be happy, but he’s unwilling to open himself up to happiness

• Tiara calls them Mama and Papa. Teru is the mama (I am absolutely not trying to call him the girl in their relationship or feminize him, this is just a silly little joke pls don’t cancel me they’re both on the same level of masculinity; Teru just has big Mom Friend vibes to me)

• Most people were surprised when they got together because everyone assumed they hated each other (except Kou, who Teru told before they were official)

• They become a package deal, whenever one of them is alone someone will ask where the other is at

• My brain is too fried to continue but uhhhh yeah, they kiss

Please may I have Naruto Platonic headcanons of Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno with a childhood friend who is exactly like Yukio Okumura from Blue exorcist and he is also Sasuke Uchiha's younger twin brother. He used to be a crybaby and was picked on quite often during childhood. He grew out of it when he was 7 and started training as a ninja around that time and he became a Jonin at the age of 11. He didn't spiral on a path of revenge like Sasuke but it was clear the relationship between Sasuke and him was not the same anymore. *he did gain more fangirls than his brother though..and he wasn't picked on anymore*. He is a highly skilled Uchiha and that much was obvious.

- He always saw you crying and alone when you two were kids so from the beginning he liked you more than Sasuke

- He could empathize with the loneliness

- Once you guys werewere forced to hang around each other he didn’t really like you as much

- You were a stickler for the rules and a bit standoff ish and always surrounded with fan girls

- So he was jealous and found you annoying like he did with Sasuke

- But then came a day where he unlocked your Traumatic Backstory TM

- Because of that he was able to know you and understand you better and you two became close

- I think you and Naruto would have gotten the closest out of everyone and became really good friends

- Even in the war, you two would always look out for each other

Sakura Haruno

- She thought you were annoying at the start

- A crybaby, she thought your brother was much cooler than you and probably used you a couple times just to talk to him

- As your personality started changing though she started talking to you more

- After spending more time with her and team seven, as well as being a jonin at an exceptionally young age Sakura liked you a lot

- It was probably your mysterious personality she was drawn too

- However the more you hung out with Naruto the more she started liking and talking to Sasuke and using you again

- By the time the war was over though, you two put your past aside and managed to become pretty good friends

Sasuke Uchiha

- Before everything with Itachi happened you two were inseparable

- You did everything together

- But once it was all done, he slowly started growing distant

- You were all each other had and your bond deepend initially

- However that didn’t last long

- Sasuke hated your crybaby attitude and it wasn’t long before you drifted from one another

- Once you two had to spend more time together again it took a while for you two to get warmed up to each other again

- The past and his jealousy of you being a jonin greeting in the way of a stable sibling relationship

- It took a while but you two managed to make amends

- When he set out to take revenge on Itachi, he tries to convince you to come, hating you when you refused, hating that you were stronger than him and wouldn’t avenge your clan

- Your relationship was in shambles once again

- Once he returned you two worked together when you had to but still usually avoided each other when possible

- After the war was over you two started working on fixing your relationship once again

Kakashi Hatake

- He practically adopted you

- He saw himself in you and knew he wanted to protect you

- No matter the situation Kakashi was always there for you to help

- He became a very important father figure in your life

- Helped you learn a lot of the Uchiha techniques

- He helped you with your training as a jonin and went with you on your first few missions to get you used to it

- You two had a really close bond

- Once the war started he tried to get you on he easier missions not wanting to lose you in the war.

- You mananged to convince him you could handle the war and the two of you stayed together through thick and thin

- Once the war was over you helped him with his duties and made sure everything went well

All the autographs I got! The only person on my list I didn’t get was Matthew. His lines were long throughout the whole con. But I got a picture with him and he complimented my Shaggy cosplay, so I still consider it a win! He was super kind.

The Hazbin gang were all so sweet and talking to them was so much fun! They all seemed to love my Sir Pentious cosplay! Erika even asked for a pic to show Alex. He didn’t respond while I was there, but he’s a very busy person, so I get it completely ^^

I nearly cried when I got to meet Rob. I have looked up to him for so long and it was so amazing to finally meet him. He was as wonderful as you’d expect. It was super hard to choose which poster for him to sign because he plays so many characters I love. I ended up picking Donnie because TMNT 2012 is my favorite version and I never see anything for it. I was telling him about how even some of his super specific roles like Eric from The Little Mermaid 2 have stuck with me and he gave me a hug! He also addressed me in Donnie’s voice and knew how to spell my name without me even needing to tell him! Most people don’t spell it right. He also complimented my cosplay and asked me how to make it and everything (I was Sir Pentious that day). It was such a good time. I would talk with him all day if I could. I unfortunately didn’t get a picture with him because I didn’t have enough money (things tend to go wrong when I’m trying to save money and I had to pay to fix some things the month before fhfhfhdn). But I’m hoping to see him again one day and next time I will get a picture!

Grey was so fun to talk to! She actually had her hair put up with a pin to look like Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender), another character she plays. She excitedly addressed me as Shaggy (the cosplay I was wearing that day), telling my sister and I to "throw Scooby Snacks at any monsters you see!" and told us not to unmask anyone :’) she’s so silly and fun I love herrr! She gave us a hug, too! Frank was super nice and loved the poster my sister brought for him to sign (she got it from an artist at the con) and he even did Scooby’s voice to us!

My sister is a big fan of Cameron Monaghan, so we went to his panel. She was able to get a pic and autograph with him, too! I don’t have the pictures with her because I don’t think she’d want me to post her face here lol.

I didn’t get an autograph from him because of money, but I also got to meet Johnny Yong Bosch! He’s most known for Ichigo from Bleach, but what I was excited for was talking to him about Danganronpa (he is Hajime and Rantaro)!

This is my haul I got from comic con (excluding the things that came with my ticket). I did, indeed, come home with 4 Miku figures. But one was free! Because at that booth it was buy 2, get 1 free.

I also got a Neighthan Rot doll for fairly cheap (they go as high as $70 online). Tbh a Monster High doll is the last thing I expected to get at a con, but I’m pretty down with it lol. Especially because it’s in great condition and still had his journal!

For the Harry Potter sticker and pin, we got those for free at a free Harry Potter trivia we went to because HP is my sister’s favorite book series. She also won a book she doesn’t have! It was like a Dumbledore side story (note: neither of us support or like Rowling as a person. She did not get any money out of us, as this was free).

The mushroom sticker was given to me by an artist as I passed their table! Their info is there on the sticker if you’re interested in their work!

The stickerssss! They make me so happy. There was so many more this artist had that I wanted, but I didn’t have the money for it, unfortunately. I got Ciel, Sebastian, Grell, and Undertaker (Black Butler), Bill, Stan, Wendy, Dipper, Mabel, and Waddles (Gravity Falls - they didn’t have Soos or Ford rip), Craig and Tweek (South Park), Sir Pentious (Hazbin Hotel), Stolas (Helluva Boss), Rampo (Bungou Stray Dogs), and Amaimon (Blue Exorcist).

This stuff came with my ticket! I LOVE the poster!

I got terribly behind on these and entirely distracted with longer Blue Exorcist requests, but I am finally trying to respond to all of these, lol.

Sorry for the delay, but I hope you enjoy this silly fic ^^

Yukio’s class was full of idiots.

While that might not quite be fair, it certainly felt that way as he watched his students and friends all just… just not notice. They were all attempting to become licensed exorcists and that meant they’d need to notice things other people didn’t, but at the moment, they all seemed to have lost their observation skills.

This was at least the fifth time Rin had come in with Ryuuji’s sweater. It was obviously Ryuuji’s because the thing was much too big and practically a dress on Rin. 

Ryuuji had even blushed at the sight of it. While Ryuuji blushing wasn’t exactly unusual, the tall and buff punk was an easily embarrassed punk, it was unusual to see that blush accompanied by a small smile. 

Ryuuji had a resting glare. There was no getting around that. He was rather a good natured punk, but he certainly looked like a murderous one. To see him purposefully smile over a sweater was all the information that Yukio had needed.

It seemed nowhere near enough for the rest. The next blatant piece of evidence was the new earring. It was a lot like his other spiral, but it was white this time, and flared out more. It was unmistakably similar to Rin's tail, which meant Ryuuji had one for both halves of Rin. 

It was hilariously sappy for such a grumpy looking punk and no one noticed. 

There were the shared lunches, the whispered conversations, the note passing, the fact that Rin stuck around to the end of class to leave with Ryuuji, the stolen glances—hardly new, but far more blatant now—and Yukio had even caught them coming into class holding hands.

There was an insurmountable amount of evidence. A glutton of it really, and none of his students seem to notice a damned thing.

It would be depressing, if it wasn't so damn funny. Yukio had always been a fan of slapstick, and this felt like at least a variation of that. He had watched the two be oblivious to their feelings, watch them come to a realization of them, and to his relief, do something about them.

He seemed to be the only one who had watched any of it. It would make him question his own over interest in the subject, but really, it had been impossible to miss. Even if he didn't live with half of the couple.

It was the sweater today, and he decided to do a bit of his own test. He wanted to see if he could make the others notice. He was certain his twin and Ryuuji weren't actually trying to hide anything. He was certain they thought everyone was aware. They would have at least been mildly subtle if they hadn't wanted the information out there. They were, despite their loud personalities, occasionally capable of subtlety. If not exactly talented liars. (Which neither of them were at all.)

"No need to sit down, Rin. Sit with Ryuuji. We're doing group assignments today."

The swish of Rin's wagging tail was immediately audible. And once again, Ryuuji blushed.

No one seemed to take any notice of that. Yukio mentally added another homework assignment for them. He'd get with Light on finding them a few cursed objects to fight. They'd force his students to observe.

Ryuuji shifted his arm so his hand could be along the edge of Rin's desk. Rin didn't waste a second before hooking their pinkies together.

Yukio could forgive them not noticing that, if Konekomaru didn't sit next to Ryuuji.

It was baffling to him. Rin’s tail had even looped itself around to rest on Ryuuji’s knee! They were obvious. 

Yukio, staring for a moment, decided to mentally wave goodbye to his lesson plan for the day. He was going to make them notice by the end of this class. Somehow.

Smiling a bit, Yukio pulled open his desk drawer and drew out his set of keys.

“Everyone line up at the front in  your groups. We’re going to be doing some active training today. It’ll get a bit hot.”

It would as soon as Yukio figured out a plan. He just needed Rin to take that sweater off and draw attention to it.

Sure enough, his words had Rin standing up with a flirty grin at Ryuuji before he was taking off the sweater and setting it on his borrowed desk.

Renzou and Izumo watched the motion, but neither seemed to notice. 

That was fine, Yukio could up the ante.

Yukio, as always, underestimated his class.  They often exceeded his expectations in astounding ways, but just as often…

They did not. 

The couple held hands on the way to the gym, but they were always shoulder to shoulder and had been before they got together, so he could probably excuse that. He wouldn’t, but he could. 

Ryuuji shed his own sweater at the gym, and Rin stared hard and long enough that Yukio was pretty sure he was going to find his twin had drooled. He would not blame Rin for that because Ryuuji did make an impressive sight, but it was a sight that had been hanging around their dorm a lot.

Besides, no one else noticed the additional and blatant staring, or the fact that Ryuuji was purposefully flexing and stretching and making an entire show of it. 

Shiemi was staring with wide-eyes at him like she wanted to know how he’d done it, and that was hilarious, but no one else was noticing that either. 

Yukio decided to start with trust falls, something they’d never done and felt a little heavy handed to him, but it led to way too many looks and lingering touches and blatant gropes. They spent way too much time on the fall part and the staying fallen, and it was all blatant and obvious and downright brazen. 

There was also a lack of noticing, so Yukio called them to the front to perform.

Ryuuji fell back towards Rin with less hesitation than even Yukio would have, and Rin caught him with one arm before swooping around in a move that looked entirely like he intended to plant one on Ryuuji. He stopped at the last moment before he could, but it was enough to have Ryuuji blushing and Yukio looking at his audience, only to once again find none of them the wiser.

Fine. To the garden they went. 

The bai suzhen was hiding somewhere among the flowers, and if her beeline to Ryuuji and Rin did not prove to the others that something was happening, he was going to quit. 

He turned his attention from them for a few moments, picking through the chrysanthemums, peonies, and sunflowers, until he found evidence of her nest, and then he shooed her out and hurried towards the others, only to find Ryuuji tucking a flower behind Rin’s ear with a murmur of words that had Rin entirely pink and his tail wagging in a dangerous way for anyone who stepped into the smacking zone. He was going to give himself Happy Tail Syndrome at this rate.

“Over here!” He called, and got their attentions. Rin snagged Ryuuji’s hand and pulled him forward, and didn’t let go.

“We are going up against a bai suzhen,” he explained. “They are drawn to romantic love, lust, and displays of romantic or sexual affection—”

“Rip Shima,” Izumo huffed, not seeming to notice Rin and Ryuuji both glance at each other and step a bit closer.

“Their bite is poisonous and they’ll go after half the pair or a member of the group to try and distract/dismay the lover.”

Ryuuji’s hand shot up. The one that wasn’t holding Rin’s.

“Suguro?” Yukio politely asked.

“Is there a way to keep their attention so they don’t?”

Rin growled a little at the implication in that question that Ryuuji would be drawing the attention. They were both ridiculous and Ryuuji wondered how they didn’t drive eachother crazy. 

“Be the more obviously in love party? They’re susceptible to trapping circles and stilling spells, if you’re quick.”

Ryuuji nodded determinedly. 

A hiss let him know the demon had arrived, and he stepped back to watch the chaos.

To his surprise, Rin turned around, grabbed Ryuuji’s tie, hauled the tall teen down by it, and planted a hard kiss to his lips that had Konekomaru squeaking in shock and Ryuuji’s hands spasming at his sides. The demoness shrieked, and lunged for Rin.

Yukio gave a small cheer, only to realize Konekomaru had been squeaking at the demon.

None of them had noticed the kiss.

Ryuuji shoved Rin out of the way, getting himself tackled for the motion, and the two of them started to wrestle in the grass as Konekomaru hastily erected a shield to cover all three of them.

Izumo shrieked, apparently not a fan of snakes, and Shiemi had Nee spring forward, growing a bushel worth of lovage to try and attract the demon. 

It didn’t. Rin and Ryuuji were making a valiant display of love, even if no one recognized it. She didn’t have to attack anyone to be feeding. 

“Shima!” Konekomaru barked, “khakkhara!”

Shima yelped and brought out his khakkhara, never seeming to remember to have it at the ready, and took a swipe at the white snake with the staff. Yamantaka’s black smoke began to pour out, clashing against the brightness of her scaly skin.

Rin and Ryuuji seemed to both realize that they were missing their chance to exorcise or stop the demon, and shoved at each other to get up, still fighting to get in front of the other.

It seemed like Rin had forgotten that he didn’t have to move at all with his flames. Yukio would be making him do drills later.

Yamantaka knocked her out, and she transformed back to her humanoid form as she lost consciousness, making Shima squeak and promptly drool in delight. Yukio clapped his hands again to draw their attention before he had to catch the teen for being a pervert.

“Was that it?” Izumo asked, crossing her arms over her chest and tossing her hair like she hadn’t spent the entire fight terrified of the snake.

Yukio’s eye twitched. 

“No! That was not it. All of you fail. Not one of you notices anything and I cannot believe it and frankly, I am out of ideas and patience.”

Everyone looked confused, which seemed to be their default because they were all clearly incapable of noticing details.

“What?!” Izumo demanded while Ryuuji made an entirely worried noise and Rin looked baffled. 

“You fail all observation skills. Rin, Suguro, why did it go after the two of you?”

Ryuuji looked to Rin and raised an eyebrow. “Because he kissed me?”

All heads turned towards them with obvious and frustrating surprise. 

“What?” Izumo asked again while Shima added a, “for real? You finally did it, Rin?”

Yukio valiantly resisted the urge to shriek. “Finally?! They’ve been dating for months!” 

They were all looking at him now, but he could see Rin and Ryuuji starting to realize the obvious.

“You’re kidding, right?” Shima asked, earning a surprised sort of choke from Rin. 

“Of course he’s not!” Ryuuji looked entirely indignant. Yukio hadn’t even noticed him grabbing Rin’s hand again. “We’ve been together for almost three months.”

“Since when?!”

Rin gaped at Izumo. “Since Ryuuji asked me out after the golem.” 

“That long?” Shiemi asked, looking floored. Nee clapped and sent a few flower petals through the air like confetti. 

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Konekomaru demanded.

“How did you get a boyfriend before I did?!” Shima whined.

“Didn’t—we did!” Rin huffed and jabbed his finger forward. “The day after it happened!”

“We hold hounds!”

“We go on dates!”

“He makes me bentos almost every day!”

“We flirt—”

“All the time.” Yukio interjected, feeling vindicated and tired. 

“—All the time,” Rin agreed before scowling. “We do not!”

“So fail,” Yukio reiterated to the rest of them. “Class dismissed and for god's sake, stop flirting in my classes.” 

 With that, he strode (stomped) away, leaving the others spluttering and asking questions, and feeling like he hadn’t proven much other than that his class was fantastically dense.

He wondered how long it would be before they noticed the other bai suzhen slowly slithering closer. 

He wasn’t going to point it out. They had to eventually learn to spot the obvious.

This is the best day ever

I've been a fan of it ever since the first chapter released back in 2009! I remember reading the first chapter and hoping that it stuck around for awhile, because it seemed like it would be a lot of fun. And I was right! It basically checks all of my boxes. I was pretty disappointed when the first anime had that anime original ending that felt like a nail in the coffin for any future anime adaptions, so I'm glad I was wrong about that. the second season just straight up ignoring the anime original ending is still probably one of my top 10 funniest anime shenanigans to this day.

I'm a little bit behind on the manga these days, but only because I'm reading it by English physical volume releases these days, so I'm only up to date with what's been printed.

i should preface this with the fact that i've only seen s1 of the show and i don't plan on watching the rest (MAYBE ill read the manga one day. i'm not much of a manga reader tho) i like s1's version of the story. so this is based off of that timeline, i guess

it's basically about yukio finding comfort in the fact that he is very different from his brother bc based on Society most of rin's attributes are "negative" (brash, loud, reckless, easily distracted, a bit stupid sometimes) and most of yukio's attributes are "positive" (focused, ambitious, well-behaved, well-spoken, polite). he takes pride in all that; he Likes that he's the "good" brother. but then he starts paying more attention to rin and seeing how there's good in his "bad" behavior, and he learns that putting values on attributes like yukio (and society) has been doing is.unproductive and harmful.

he mostly sees this through little moments where the twins' opinions on demons differ. yukio is an exorcist, and a very good one, and he feels accomplished when he kills a demon. rin, on the other hand, has started to show that he rly doesn't like killing demons, and he'd rather make friends with them instead. yukio starts listening to rin, starts seeing how gentle he treats these demons, how a simple soft voice can get them to calm a little, and he realizes with absolute horror that rin might be right to not treat them like monsters. and if rin is right about This, that means that like 80% of yukio's identity is wrong.

he defines himself as the guy who exorcises demons to keep his brother safe, as the guy who exterminates pests to make the world better. but then his brother is gentle with them and shows them love and acts genuinely hurt when people call him names just bc he's half demon. yukio is a little late to realize it, but it kinda hits him that he's built his personality off of hating demons, all in the name of keeping a member of said demons safe. his brother is a good person, with complex ins and outs. his brother is also a demon.

some of them are dangerous, yes, but true cross academy has taught generations upon generations of people that exorcising them is the only way to solve that issue. yukio learns, thanks to rin, that that is purely false. just made up lies.

yukio learns to redefine "demon" in his head, not to something horrid, or spiteful, but something neutral, just a thing that is. but boy does he have a crisis abt what that means for him and his entire career, purpose, and future

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i treat yukio RIGHT in this fic. i've seen so many fics on ao3 where yukio is just.an asshole. an unlikable, irredeemable, heartless fucking Dickhead and i've HAD it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! up to here‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ idk WHAT the fuck happens in the manga for so much of the fanbase to hate him so badly (there is an entire yukio okumura bashing tag. it'sthat bad guys) but my s1 yukio would fucking never.he would never. am i in the wrong? am i foolish to complain, when i'm the fan that attaches herself to s1 and Nothing Else like a koala and stays there, unwilling to face the fact that s1 yukio is not technically canon yukio? perhaps. maybe i Am in the wrong. but goddammit i rly like s1 yukio oka y

i treat himfucking right. i beat him up and he reacts like he would in s1 canon (dickhead remarks and heartless moments included!!!! they're important!!) but he is NOT a soul-sucking character.he is a traumatized 15 year old who's just trying to protect his brother, even when he's still grappling with what his brother is, and learning to accept it despite how he's been raised. yes he is a bit mean and definitely a hard-ass. but i will make Damn sure that his love for rin bleeds through every other fucking line. because that is Correct and Who Yukio Is.can u tell i feel strongly abt this

A Sign of Affection: God, I'm so happy we're getting high quality shoujo adaptations again.

The Dangers in My Heart Season 2: I know for a fact a lot of you missed this show last year. Fix that. Now.

Delicious in Dungeon: I think this one took an episode to really find its footing, but I'm digging it a lot. Classic fantasy fans, we are eating so well these days.

Solo Leveling: Now this is looking like some good edgy fun. Maybe this'll be the Webtoon adaptation that finally gets it right!

By the Numbers update!!

With just over a day left to sign up as a creator for Fandom Trumps Hate 2023, here's a quick roundup of all of the numbers:

We have 705 offers by 527 creators (I've had to update this three times while writing this post!). Of those, 97 are offering to work in ANY fandom! The rest have signed up offering fanworks in 273 fandoms, including 177 write-in fandoms! (To compare that with roughly the same time last year, as we approached 24 hours left to sign up for FTH2022 we had 680 offers from 525 creators in 257 fandoms including 153 write-ins … meaning we have 23 more offers in 16 more fandoms by the same number of creators for 2023 … SO FAR.)

The orgs selected least often are The Appeal, Razom, and Violence Policy Center.

In our listed fandoms Good Omens has increased its lead and its lock on the top spot. MCU caught up with Sherlock and Teen Wolf for a brief 3-way tie for 4th place behind HP and K-pop, but has since gained an additional signup to claim that spot, leaving Sherlock and Teen Wolf tied for fifth ahead of Star Wars, Stranger things, SVSSS, The Untamed, and The Sandman.

Trying to learn how to color manga

So, my first attempt was recoloring Frankstein’s scarf (mainly because that’s the first suitable image I found in my camera roll). Then, I had to try an actual manga panel- while I love The Glass Scientists, it’s also already in color. Although, I guess it might be fun to try to recolor a panel from memory.

Okay, white hair is hard. I want it to look like I did something, but I also don’t want it to look not white anymore. Plus there’s no background since I haven’s figured that bit out yet. I tried to add some shading, but still pretty iffy. Other than that, I think it looks pretty good for a first try. Could it use some cleaning? Definitely! Am I disappointed? No.

I bit off more than I can chew with this one. For one, it has the exact opposite problem as the Uzuki image, with a very complicated background including a whole extra character in the back. I picked it because it is one of my favorite panels in the series, but might have to come back with some more practice. And maybe an actual drawing pencil. I couldn’t find mine, so I just used my fingers for all of this. Third Problem-

Maybe it’s the Dragon Ball Z fan in me, but cool powerups should come with cool hair. I already went with yellow for the eyes, mainly because Lu got this power up from chugging straight Ethanol, but I thought it might be cool to have something extra. I couldn’t decide what though, so I ended up with two extra versions. I probably would have been okay with just the regular pink hair though.

So this Dandadan page is actually the reason I wanted to learn how to color manga in the first place, however I couldn’t find the image in my camera roll and at the time I didn’t feel like trying to find the chapter it came from.

I can already see some difficult points. Lots of dark/black space, special effects, multiple characters, etc. However, I can hopefully figure out how to do it.

I have a few other panels I’d like to color, and I can probably sweep through for other panels in different manga. As of now, I’m keeping up with Sakamoto Days, Wild Strawberry, Dandadan, Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi, Astro Baby, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures, and probably a few others I’m going to regret leaving out later. Not to mention not-currently running Manga like Psyren. So there’s no shortage of material here.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

- Loves affection but usually only in private, unless he hasn’t seen his s/o for long

- They would be an interesting friend

- I feel like he’d run into somewhere and just be instantly taken with you

- Definitely a cuddler

- He wouldn’t.

- Extremely gentle and soft with you

- Lots of hugs

- This one will take longer

- He gets really jealous but is good at hiding it

Michael's Magnificent Musical

“Alright folks! Give it up for the king of all things bluuueee!”

In the Halo of Humility, a Christian rock concert was taking place that rivaled Gabriel’s entertainment venues. It was at New Jerusalem Stadium in Holy City. Despite Gabriel having fame for communication technology, theme parks and generosity, no one could beat the oldest archangel brother remaining in heaven, who loved to show off his muscular physique and heroic charm. Fans were dressed in blue clothing, blue hats and carried merchandise with gold “M”s on them. Several kids carried harmless toy swords that lit up with blue lights that appeared like flames. Every kind of angel was there: saints, cherubs, elves, seraphim, thrones, Cleansers, and even some Exorcists. More Exorcists posed and stood guard with angelic spears around the stadium like honored veterans.

“Heaven’s number one Archangel, God’s right-hand man himself! Protector of all and slayer of darkness!”

There were more cheers from the crowd. Docile, Tirred, Timmid, and Sunna all cheered in the stands, all of them wearing light blue T-shirts with white “M”s on them.

“The Virtue you all love most…Archangel Michael, ruler of Humility…and humanity!”

In a flash of light, Archangel Michael leaped forward and posed on the stage, wearing his signature blue armor, gold shoulder protective armor, gold boots, a gold helmet with red feathers in it and a sheathed sword. Fans swooned over his sleek short blond hair and charming white face that looked very similar to Lucifer. Michael was often called “the obedient counterpart of Lucifer,” by many. In his hands was a red and gold gem-studded electric guitar, with the top part glowing with harmless blue flames. More blue flames ejected from the stage, in the front and off to the sides. His halo was gold and blue and his six wings were sparkly white. His eyes would sometimes shift from blue to gold. Behind him were the “Holy Ghosts” band members with angelic instruments decorated with gold, gems, eyes, and white wings.

“Hallelujah, Heaven!” he called out, the crowd roaring in response.  Michael’s blue sigil glowed on the red curtains behind him. “Praise the Lord, Jehovah, Yahweh, and all that jazz! Can I get an amen?!”

“Amen, amen!” answered the audience.

“How are all you adherents doing tonight?!”

More cheers and “We love you, Michael!” from the crowd.

“I hope you’re ready for a spectacular show that you’ll remember for the rest of your afterlives!”

“Michael! Michael! Michael!” chanted the crowd.

“Right, I got lots of amazing things planned for you here tonight. But first, how many of you righteous devotees want to be strong heavenly defenders like me someday?”

A chorus of “Yes! Yes!” and “Me, me’s!”

“Well, I’m happy to announce that I will be starting a new training session where all kinds of angels will have the opportunity to show off their skills. Fighting, healing, properly judging sinners, and perhaps some performing! So many amazing events in one…like a triathalon but better!”

More applause from the fans and a triumphant lifitng of spears from the Exorcist guards.

“And just to let you know, even though I’m personally not a fan of the brutal torture methods of Hazbin Adam, the session will still be good for those who want some extra self-defense lessons and to see what being a heavenly warrior is all about. It’s about protecting our wonderful realm and showing true justice to mortals and immortals alike. No killing and torture is allowed, of course. The winner will get a chance to train with me for a day and a free protection blessing for their family! (In Heaven and on Earth of course, because due to the current structure of the Heavens, there’s not much we can do about saving Sinners in Hazbin Hell yet.)”

A brief silence with cricket chirping.

“But anyway, there’s always room for more esteemed eliminators of evil! The reward is worth the risk. Now, let’s start the show!”

Angels waved their arms and flapped their wings in excitement as more fireworks lit up the dim sky with teal and white sparks.

Michael played his guitar and flew into the air, doing ariel flips and tricks. He sang a song about justice, posing on the stage as the crowd stood up and clapped.

So my dad, while an avid movie lover, always thought that he did not particularly like horror. Honestly, he'd mostly just watched a lot of horror that was either bad or not to his taste. (He's not a fan of slasher/gore films and neither am I, tbh.)

I recced him some horror that I thought was good and he's been slowly making his way through that, and we've had some winners! He's told me how much he enjoyed El Orfanato, Lake Mungo, The Woman in Black, etc. It seems that, like me, he enjoys films that have creepy vibes and weird mysteries rather than more explicit monsters/slashers.

For me personally, the sense of unease and slowly mounting dread is what I love about horror. I love ghost stories that are just as much about the human psyche as they are about the actual supernatural creatures. Gore tends to instill a different and entirely unrelated emotion in me (disgust, annoyance) so it doesn't do anything for me, and movies that rely on mostly gore for their scares just kind of bore me.

I think that Dad and I have similar taste in that respect. So I keep turning to dad like "Well, have you heard of 1408? What did you think about The Ring? The Descent is fantastic, but I think it was actually scarier before the monsters showed up..."

I've also gotten him into some tv shows! I am very happy to report that I have found a new person to talk to about The Exorcist (TV). I still stand by my opinion that that show was better than it had any right to be.

But I was thinking, and I'm trying to decide if next I want to introduce him to internet horror...? I mean, I think something like Local 58 or My house walk-through can be just as scary as a lot of mainstream horror films. That said, it's often a very different way of interacting with media...? And I'm not sure if he'd enjoy that or not.

Like, when DHMIS first came out, he enjoyed the first one! I think he was still teaching middle/high school at that point, so of course his students played it for him. (I actually saw that first one at a film festival around this time, so it was fairly mainstream.) I think he thought it was a bit tryhard but he did like it. But when I told him that there was basically an entire cottage industry of people trying to piece together what the series was about he was like "well, it sounds like those people have too much time on their hands."

He's... kind of a "the curtains are just blue" sort of person. lmao

I personally really enjoy the kind of media that you really have to work for (see: my obsession with interactive theater that requires you to investigate details and assemble the "plot", such as it is, that way) but Dad... idk! Not everyone likes it when their peanut butter is put in a kong toy. Sometimes you just want a straightforward jar. Neither option is necessarily better or worse, imo. It's just preference.

Maybe I'll try him on a few videos when I see him in a few days... I'll have to think through my game plan.
