Soulmates can feel what their soulmates are feeling AU. Super well done. I’ve read these first two fics so many times and rec them to everyone 

The Cruelty of Fate by Procrastination_Sensation

Characters can see their soulmate’s ghosts after they die. Beautiful. Probably my go to when I want to read LWJ verbally eviscerating jc in a way that sounds completely in character. I love it. 

Lying on the Edge of a Star by Suspicious_Popsicle*

*this one is alas incomplete according to the author. they said they didn’t abandon it but it has been ... a bit of a while ( ; ω ; ). It didn’t end in a bad spot though, rather imo it’s just missing a rich conclusion to sort of bring it all decisively together. I think it’s a gorgeous incredibly rich AU that has WWX & LWJ thinking & acting completely in character- and it’s written from LWJ’s point of view so not an easy feat!

Notes: Everything has a happy ending. :) I like characters being recognizable as themselves in fanfic. I like my fanfic to have them be the same people just placed in different situations. JingYi shushed his silent friends and was elbowed by Jin Ling. The following scuffle was brief, and in the quiet afterward, Lan WangJi froze, teapot just tipped over a cup, as a familiar laugh, garbled by feedback and background noise, burst from the phone.

Carefully, he set the teapot back down, attention now sharply focused on the recording JingYi was playing. Despite the quality, despite the fact that it had been years since he had heard that laugh, he still knew the sound in the center of himself, in the place where music resonated when he played. He knew the timbre of it, knew the way it would make that person's nose scrunch up and his eyes sparkle and his shoulders shake.
