SUMMARY:

Wei Ying is beautiful in a tight, black t-shirt and black nitrile gloves, face half-hidden behind a surgical mask, and hair escaping his messy bun in all directions. He has stepped out of his workroom briefly to greet Lan WangJi and tell him that he's finishing up his last customer of the day. The sunset flooding in through the front door is bonfire orange and lights him up, making him squint, burnishing his face and adding copper highlights to his hair. Lan WangJi wants to pull him close, feel his warmth, kiss him, and fall asleep to the sound of his voice. He wants to bring Wei Ying home with him. Really, he just wants to make a home with Wei Ying. He takes a seat and waits his turn for some of Wei Ying's time.

SUMMARY:

“—comes on stage, and it's like someone gave a kid too much sugar, then let him loose, but when he starts singing, he's like a totally different person! Watch, watch, watch! He's about to do it! Watch!”

JingYi shushed his silent friends and was elbowed by Jin Ling. The following scuffle was brief, and in the quiet afterward, Lan WangJi froze, teapot just tipped over a cup, as a familiar laugh, garbled by feedback and background noise, burst from the phone.

Carefully, he set the teapot back down, attention now sharply focused on the recording JingYi was playing. Despite the quality, despite the fact that it had been years since he had heard that laugh, he still knew the sound in the center of himself, in the place where music resonated when he played. He knew the timbre of it, knew the way it would make that person's nose scrunch up and his eyes sparkle and his shoulders shake.

the kid trio is here but not in a hugely major role, alternate universe - modern setting, metalhead x classical music teacher AU, you can guess which is which, jiang cheng appears as a big ol’ ball of ornery, the wen sibs are here for a few lines

SUMMARY:

When he came to, the bus was on the freeway. The windows were dewed with drops of melted snow that shone with captured light. Outside, traffic was at a standstill. Dingy slush covered the roads, gradually accumulating as snow drifted down from the woolen sky, the flakes picked out in sharp contrast where they plunged into the light of streetlamps and headlights. Wei WuXian laughed softly to see it. When he turned away from the window, he saw that the beautiful man from earlier was still sitting next to him, watching him with an expression that might, optimistically, be called inquisitive.

“The snow,” Wei WuXian said, gesturing outside. “It looks like champagne bubbles, only going the wrong way.” He laughed again, and rubbed his head. “Have you ever felt drunk, but been pretty sure you weren't drinking? Haha, no, never mind me. I'm just tired.” He rubbed a hand over his face, wanting desperately to sleep.

SUMMARY:

Sitting on the grass as Lan WangJi knelt nearby, the picture of serenity, Wei WuXian spotted something strange in the undergrowth of the forest cradling the far side of the rabbit meadow. He went perfectly still, watching the small, furry creature that was staring at them, pink nose twitching as its long ears perked forward curiously, white coat shining faintly in the shadows. It wasn't long before his stillness caught the attention of his husband.

“Wei Ying?”

"Lan Zhan....” He nodded to indicate the creature, glancing back to be sure Lan WangJi saw it, too. “That's not a rabbit."

Lan WangJi had a twitter account because Wei WuXian had insisted that he make one. He wasn't good at it, and didn't even particularly like it. He followed a total of three people that he knew in real life: Wei WuXian, Lan XiChen, and Jiang YanLi (the latter mostly because Wei WuXian openly adored her, and she sometimes posted recipes and family photos which Lan WangJi hoarded greedily in the wishful section of his mind filled with Wei Ying and domesticity and Someday). There was a notification showing that he had a new direct message.

Hm.

It was from his brother.

It said: Congratulations, WangJi ^_^

SUMMARY:

Lan WangJi considers the griffin as it watches him in turn. It has become common knowledge that Wei WuXian has some sort of affinity for them, but the nature of such a connection, and the extent of control he is able to exercise are points of pure speculation. Lan WangJi isn't sure this is one of Wei WuXian's creatures...or if he can even think of any griffins in such terms. Certainly, there must be some understanding between him and the...flocks? Prides? Otherwise, he would have long ago been torn to shreds and devoured. It is no secret that a cultivator's golden core is a favored morsel to a griffin.
