Honestly my favorite part of era 2 is that if you’re reading era 2 it’s assumed that you know the basic mechanisms of allomancy. We don’t need a character just learning they can burn metals as a way to teach us about the magic system. So instead we have well-trained allomancers who are experienced and for the most part comfortable in their abilities and I love it because generally in a fantasy book you only have one or two characters who are super experienced and skilled from the get go.

One of my favorite things about Cyberpunk 2077 is that it’s not afraid of its theme. So many pieces of media want to be radical anticapitalist thematic masterpieces, but they never commit, because they exist at the whims of capitalism for the purpose of profit.

I’m okay! Pissed about how it went down, sad that I’ll miss a chunk of my employees but overall I’m relieved. Toxic jobs make it seem like you can’t leave, that you’ll have to stay but it’s not true. You can leave. You will find something else and you deserve better.

I’m really really glad they haven’t stopped bringing this up. A common flaw in “antagonist-turned-good” arcs is that the narrative and characters get sudden amnesia and never again bring up the ex-antagonists wrongdoings. Or if they do, it’s just seen as some quirky “hey remember this?” weird joke.

I appreciate that HOT doesn’t let us or Reinhold forget that he did some truly fucked up things when he was Earl. And seeing as though it was years of abuse, it’ll take a very long time for him to actually make up for it.

I’ve been watching the Cdrama The King’s Avatar and I’m really enjoying it. It’s got Sword Art Online vibes with the whole game world aspect, but like not high stakes death stuff 😂
