Heeey, I rewatched Mean Girls (2004), I love that movie and I love Karen! Could we have the Rottmnt boys (separately) with a female reader who's just like Karen Smith? She's very cute and kind. The guys love the reader and have a crush on her, but they can’t believe someone could actually be like that and not just be pretending. Still, they love her and enjoy her company 😊

It's been so long since I watched Mean Girls, but I have to admit that Regina and Karen are the characters that left the biggest impression on the film. Karen is very funny, I even remember trying to copy her style a little 🥹. Anyways, i hope you like it! ♡♡♡♡

last song i listened to: on youtube it was rest by desktop error. they’re an honestly unknown thai indie post rock band i’ve been listening to for years. rest especially is a song of all time and one that has accompanied me through a lot of my life! i feel very overworked and exhausted at the minute and this song is a nice reprieve 😌 on spotify it was thamizhachi by arivu! he’s a tamil dalit artist and raps/sings about tamil and indian social issues. the album this song is from is called therukural, a portmanteau of the word ‘theru’ (street) and ‘thirukkural’ (a collection of tamil couplets dated around 450CE that provide a guide for human life and morals). street poetry, basically! this song is mine and my dad’s favourite off the album; it’s a feminist track about loving a tamil woman but letting her be free and as she is.

favourite colour: yellow :) and white and blue (for no reason obviously)

currently watching: making my way through queer as folk at a snail’s pace! very much enjoying it. there are some storylines that are slightly frustrating but apart from that i love gay joy and i love seeing messy people be messy. it’s good fun. apart from that i’m rewatching sunderland til i die too which always makes me emotional 😭

last movie i watched: my beautiful laundrette. it was a rewatch and i love it so much 🥹 sure you kind of have no clue what’s going on half the time but again it’s just so fun and real and chaotic. it did me a lot of good as a kid seeing a south asian gay person in film.

currently reading: douglas stuart’s shuggie bain in twenty minute increments on the bus because i’ve got no time to read otherwise. really enjoying it though (it is devastating me) and my library is not getting this one back from me until i’m done!

sweet/savoury/spicy: savoury and spicy. i guess i can do without spice for a meal but it defo has to be savoury. i am craving a blueberry muffin right now though.

last thing i googled: twas an image search: ‘carpal tunnel syndrome pain distribution’ (not for me). as for proper search it was just me googling ‘amboss.com’ and then did some searching re antibiotics within there, probably not very interesting for you lot 😭

current obsession: kinderpunsch and cinnamon rolls :) always an obsession but been ramped up because it’s the cold months! also absolutely obsessed with my spurs scarf, there has never existed a piece of clothing that is so rahul 🥰

currently working on: just getting through the day 😭 this past month has been really difficult and honestly so has this entire year. i don’t actually remember feeling not stressed and burnt out. i have things to dread but also be excited for next year so i’m just hoping 2025 will be kinder to me because i’ve been feeling genuinely beaten down since mid january. apart from that i’m trying to work on my novel when i’ve got the time :)

A/n ; spooooky season!!! thought really hard on what this would be about..hope it’s oki , also love coraline just rewatched it for the lost how much I’ve watched time!!

━ XIAO : The skeptical one, would literally try to debunk everything until something actually happens to him(the spirits probably targeted him) . Would only be on edge questioning everything && would be the 2nd camera man when you guys split into groups or need more angles for the video lol. He is the most serious one out of everyone who is going crazy freaking out.

━ SCARA : The one scaring the fuck out of everyone && a skeptic one. Will call everyone scaredy cats and once something touches him he secretly be a scaredy cat but the others won’t know til they stare deep into his eyes and see the shakey feeling he has. Will also go in the basement alone aka be the first person to volunteer in the haunted dark creepy basement, the basement forever changed his way of thinking about this “nasty old” house. 👻👻

━ HEIZOU : The brave one, everyone’s hero to do the challenges of being in the dark alone 🥹🥹. Took almost everything seriously but did make funny jokes to try and lighten the mood, actually did research the house you all went to ++ solved the cold mystery of this house(YouTube title will be “COLD MYSTERY HAUNTED HOUSE CASE NOW FINALLY SOLVED!!”) mainly did the questions and asks about anyone you guys talked to in there. The spirits definitely liked him for thanking him for finally putting things to rest.

━ KAZUHA : Also takes it a bit seriously when talking to the spirits of the house and helps Heizou to solve it. The comfort person who you can just hug and everything goes away type, even the negative spirits despite him for having such positive energy! Kazuha switched roles with xiao of who will hold the 2nd camera because they have the most steady hands when holding something and don’t really be scared easily, will get really good shots of everything!!

━ VENTI : Another scaring the fuck out of everyone for this dumbest things, will also scream very loudly that everyone has to shout him up to not get kicked. Can very much easily lighten the mood from the weirdest jokes that will make you all look at venti trying to process what he said to a horrible dad joke or possibly a good joke, never in between! Venti is also the sacrifice from which everyone leaves him behind when everything goes hell aka activity is everywhere and everyone runs in fear from angering the spirits.

━ AETHER : Thought it would be really cool but gets really scared of what the spirits do when hearing the history of activity they do. Learning the history of the house will send him into a shock face, jaw dropped and now regretting joining to go to the haunted house. Overall is trying his best to not be scared && helps with any gears you guys brought to the house. Is the person to slowly turn around when anyone says don’t turn around or won’t even turn his head because he thinks it’s a prank at the worst time. Probably saw a shadow figure and thought it was someone from the 5 of y’all until aether brought it up, another jaw dropping face moment!

ANGIE I’ve been meaning to tell you I’ve fallen down a Jimmy Stewart rabbit hole this year and have been combing through his films with my mom 🥹 Now I need to know what your favorite Jimmy movie is. I think if I had to make a top five list, I’d pick It’s a Wonderful Life, Rear Window, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, You Can’t Take It With You, and The Philadelphia Story!! Okay *cracks knuckles* I was saving this ask until I could give a detailed response, so sorry in advance Amy 😭😂💗 I only have a couple people in my life who are into Old Hollywood at all so I always jump at the chance to talk about it

I love Jimmy so much!! I feel like I have more than one answer though to my favourite movie of his 😅 of any movie he’s in, it would be The Philadelphia Story. It’s one of my favourite movies of all time and Jimmy, Cary and Katharine are my three Old Hollywood favourites so it’s a perfect movie for me! I know the ending is controversial though! Loads of people think she should’ve ended up with Mike. But I like the ending, even though Tracy and CK were toxic 😂 what do you think?? My favourite performance of his though is You Can’t Take it With You. That movie is so underrated! It has such a beautiful message and it’s fun yet so heartfelt. I also love Jimmy’s chemistry with Jean Arthur. And the grandpa is adorable lol

Your top five is amazing!! Rear Window is my fave Hitchcock movie, it’s so good. Even though I’m a chronic rewatcher, I’ve actually never rewatched Mr Smith Goes to Washington, I enjoyed it, but I didn’t understand a lot of the intricacies of American politics 😭 it’s very well made though. Fun fact: Jimmy said once that he felt like his Oscar win for Philadelphia Story was a sort of apology from the academy for him not winning as Mr Smith the year before! Controversially, I don’t love It’s a Wonderful Life! I can’t put my finger on why though, I appreciate it’s objectively a beautiful movie 💗 the only other movie of his that I’ve not really loved is Vertigo which is another controversial opinion 😅 have you seen it? It makes me sad though because the movie failed at the box office and Hitchcock blamed Jimmy and refused to work with him again 🥲🥲

If you love drunk Jimmy (as do I, he’s iconic) he also plays drunk in a couple scenes of the movie Vivacious Lady, if you’ve not seen it yet! It was one of his first leading man roles and Ginger Rogers, who he was dating at the time, got him the part. It’s not high cinema but it’s a really cute movie

RAAAAH I was OBSSEEEEESSSED with All Dogs Go to Heaven as a kid (and even now I still love the movies, I need to rewatch them) and were some of the first Don Bluth films I've seen before finding out about the other films !!!! A lot of A Salmon Good Time's inspiration comes from All Dogs Go to Heaven.

Obsessed isn't even an exaggeration— I'd watch All Dogs Go to Heaven 1 and 2 on my mini DVD player almost everyday like it was routine, I'd sing along with the musical bits (the happier ones ofc), draw fanart in my sketchbook... and then one night we had the TV on and I just so happened to walk in and see that they had a Christmas Carol movie too??? I was in pure bliss I got to consume more ADGTH content!

ADGTH really made childhood me believe that dogs could talk and do human things in private (I also had a dog obsession as a kid too— does this movie/show have a talking dog? Yahoo, it's a dog plushie! I made nothing but dog OCs lol).

The ADGTH movies really really really really stuck with me (even now) and I'd even go as to say that my life and creative journey would be very different without 'em ;v;

In 2007, I even made my own OCs based on those movies- one was Bluesy and the other Chris, and I'm thinking about bringing 'em back!! Though around 2022 or so, after hearing about the show Bluey not to long ago, I was considering changing Bluesy's name since the name's are a one-lettwe difference and Bluesy too is a blue dog haha

Ok no but genuinely they made that movie so fucking good for no reason and I forced my parents to rewatch it with me lmfao. I’m too tired to go off about Sully and Mike’s characters in the movie but they’re surprisingly complex and I REALLY LIKE THE CONFLICTS THEY GO THROUGH UGHH.. thar friendship🥹 also Jesus crhist the scene where they scare the adults gives me chills every time because it’s so fucking good AND WHEN THEY TALK AT THE LAKE… and after Mike finds out the difficulty was rigged…

I’m eating it up so much I love when 2 guys Hate eachother at the start but then become so genuinely vulnerable and understand eachother by the end after they formed a strong friendship

I’m not even gonna get started on the monsters inc world as a Concept because it’s like the best and cleverest worldbuilding ever so I’m already Very invested in that. But the stakes were so high here and they were so vulnerable and th. Sobs.

AND. Holy fuck

Mike works SO hard and he’s belittled and stepped on repeatedly and his dreams are basically Crushed Multiple Times throughout the film and yet he perseveres. And at the end he DOESNT “win.” He doesn’t get back into the scare program. He isn’t scary and he will never be scary even though that’s all he wants EVER. Mike works like 100x harder than Sully to try and be scary whereas Sully is scary without trying because he just Looks like that. And that’s so fucking real dude .... it reminds me a lot of learning disabilities and disabilities in general. “You’re not scary, but you’re fearless” I’m gonna explode

It’s so disability positive, and NOT in a super “my disability is actually awesome and gives me an advantage!” Kind of way ( that message in itself isn’t Terrible but it’s missing realism and it’s a little over-positive) but yeah the fact it DOESNT do that is GREAT. Because disabilities DONT give you an advantage in most things. Having a disability means you have to work extra hard to be level with everyone else and it’s exhausting. The special thing about Mike is that he’s able to exceptionally plan and think ahead and he’s really intelligent despite not being scary. (Aka his disability)

This video puts it really well better than I can lol but GRAAGHHH this movie is so fucking good thank you 2013 pixar. It’s always such a joy to revisit and it’s one of my favorites and I love it

the one truly great thing about danny boyle and ewan mcgregor falling out is the fact that the world got cillian murphy out of it. that truly makes it all worth it. i have watched both 28 days later and sunshine ,and i LOVED them, and i will definitely tell you why in a second, but i need to tell you this story first: about three months ago (? it could've been later or sooner than that, time escapes me), i was cleaning my room and happily looking through hulu for a movie to get me through the hell that is that process. anyway, cillian murphy had just recently been nominated for best actor, and i'd watched oppenheimer a few weeks prior to that and i loved it, so when i saw the movie 28 weeks later i was like "fuck it, i'll watch the zombie movie and see what this cillian murphy is all about." the first 15 minutes i was like, "this is kinda weird, his fans talk about that film like he's really in it, but i'll wait it out and see" and then about 45 minutes in i was like "its really weird that he's still not here but i've gotten this far so i'll keep going" and then with 5 minutes left of the movie and not a cillian murphy in sight, i thought his fans were either the meanest, dirtiest liars of all fucking time, or that he wasn't gonna show up. and at the end, i finally realized that there are two movies: 28 days later and 28 weeks later, the latter of which i had spent a little over an hour watching waiting for our dearest cillian and the latter in which he is not in. spending that much time waiting for him really did something to me. i think, had i not made that mistake, we'd not be having this conversation right now. i'm dead serious lmao

anyway i think he was really fucking great in 28 days later. it took me until like two weeks ago to watch bc i was so pissed abt the 28 days later thing, but when i got to it i thought he had that perfect trainspotting ewan mcgregor gritty vibe to him, and the ending was INCREDIBLE. i love when they let cillian murphy kick ass. more than that i love when they let him go a little fucking insane. those blue eyes are a little unnatural and they should be used with that in mind! god bless danny boyle for it.

i thought sunshine was breathtaking. i'm amazed by the way the cgi held up, and i found the entire thing to be heartbreaking, and cillian was so fucking good. i mean -- better than good, really. having said that, i will admit that i didn't love it as much as i know i should've but it isn't because it wasn't good. it was really fucking good. i just had a stomachache at the end because it was as if danny boyle had went into my mind and dug up my greatest fears and said: would you like to know what hell looks like? and the hell was that. the sun going out? trapped in a space you can't get out? space? an uneven ratio of men to women? terrible. i will definitely rewatch that film in the future though because i really think it was good and i want to analyze it.

also: you also have the greatest taste in little guys. when you said you adored him i was like "we might be soulmates idk" lol.

1. One Stormy Night (2005)

the story of a wolf and a goat who run away together, this is one of those movies i saw when i was younger and just never stopped thinking about... not only is it really gorgeous to watch but i find the plucky main characters really charming! a feel-good movie all around

2. Wolf Children (2012)

i come back to this movie once every couple years and it kills me, KILLS me i say!!! so so beautiful and bittersweet and makes me want to call my mom. i really need to draw fanart sometime soon

3. Tao Tao (1981)

this is only a comfort movie for about the first 20 minutes and after that it gets devastating, but i really enjoy the artistry that went into this, it’s really a pleasure to watch even as an adult :’^) this also was 100% not the filmmakers’ intention but it gave me some sort of queer awakening as a kid lol

4. Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)

i’m allowing myself ONE ghibli film cause otherwise they would take up the whole list. so good and cozy and extremely foundational to me when i was a young artist, the ending makes me cry every time

5. Comet in Moominland (1992)

i watched this so many times as a child that parts of it are engraved in my brain, even as i rewatch it now it feels like a world that i could escape to... i love the sensibilities and sense of humor in moomins and i really want to read the novel version of this some day

6. Joulutarina (2007)

the quintessential christmas movie i watch with my mom every year, the finnish setting has such a homey feel to me 🥹 also gave me some insane mcms as a child

7. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

i first checked this out years ago because i was a fan of José Gonzalez and if there’s anything this movie has got going for it it’s the damn soundtrack!! a bit of a mixed bag otherwise but somehow it just speaks to my soul, especially where i am currently in life. he’s just like me fr 😔

Hello, I’m new to the Tarlos fandom ♥️ bing watched all seasons and I’m not okay 🥹 anyways I wanted to ask: are Rafael and Ronen usually more active on socials? Do they give bts footage when they are filming? And are their joint lives a regular thing?

Anyways, excited to be here, these two together, on and off screen, have something so special. It’s a joy to watch them! Thank you :)

Hello, welcome!! It always makes me happy to see new people enjoying the show and falling in love with Tarlos! It's very easy to do--you're so right, they really do have something special!

Ronen in particular is usually a whole lot more active on socials. He goes a little quieter at times during the summer, but this summer he's quiet on a whole new level, and I'm assuming that can mostly be attributed to the strike. He's not able to talk about the show/Tarlos right now, so it's probably keeping him off social media a bit. Aside from that, he's probably busy traveling, working on music, relaxing, etc. Once they finally do get back to filming (or even well before then), I'm confident he will be back to posting regularly.

Rafa used to be more active on socials, but in the last couple years, he posts a lot less. However, he drops in from time to time to destroy us with gorgeous vacation photos, workout selfies, etc. And he usually posts about events he attends, though often after the fact rather than in real time.

During filming, Rafa doesn't usually post too much about the show/filming, though he will occasionally do a post or two to promote important episodes. Ronen posts a lot during filming and he loves to tease and hint at future Tarlos content. He doesn't post actual bts footage...I don't think he'd be allowed to share anything from when they're actively filming. But he posts selfies from set/his trailer frequently, and we can usually get little hints based on the outfits he's wearing and things like that. He usually interacts with fans a bit, talks about Tarlos all the time, and he'll sometimes live tweet episodes when they air. If it weren't for the greedy, soulless studios refusing to pay writers and actors what they deserve, we'd be mere weeks away from season 5 behind the scenes content...sadly, there's no telling when they'll be back to filming at this point.

The joint Tarlos lives are incredible but do appear to be a thing of the past. They haven't done one since before season 3. During season 3, they mentioned trying to organize another live a couple times, but it never happened. Then I don't think it was mentioned by either of them at all during season 4, and the only live Ronen did to promote the show was with Julian Works. I get the impression that Rafa doesn't want to do them anymore. He's a fairly private person and he's become less active on social media as the show/Tarlos got more popular. As an introvert who barely uses social media myself, I understand and respect that 100%...though I can't deny that I would love another Tarlos live more than almost anything! Who knows, it could still happen in the future someday, but I'm not expecting it. Regardless, we got a lot of great promotional content with both of them during season 4 and there are always the old lives to rewatch. If you haven't watched them all yet, I highly recommend it! As well as all the promotion they did for the season 4 finale! There are some great interviews and photoshoots out there to enjoy.

Last film/show: Grey's Anatomy all because of @valoale. My show rotation consists of Bones, Criminal Minds and Grey's Anatomy, and I was in the middle of a Criminal Minds binge before vee came around with his Grey’s obsession and here I am, basically a surgeon myself already because of this show and the amount of times I’ve rewatched it 😌 also shoutout to vee's GA AU Drarry, you're killing me in the best way possible with them. Last film I watched was Saltburn and it fucking slapped.

Sweet/savory/spicy: savory, then spicy. I don't do sweet things that much, fun fact, I didn't even like candy or soda or baked goods or whatever before I was in third or so grade lol

Current obsession: I’ve been quite chill for a while now, no current hyperfixations at the moment and I'm lowkey loving it

Last book: truth to be told I haven't read that much books after I got sucked back into the black hole of HP fanfiction. I did manage to finish Elolliset by Iida Turpeinen, and I absolutely loved that one

Looking forward to: my 30th birthday in March. I asked my bf to arrange a surprise party for me and I'm really hoping he'll pull through. I’m not looking forward to actually being 30 but I do love a good party

i just find old horror movies - and old movies in general to be honest - to be so impressive. i’m really interested in practical effects so i’m that person who spends the entire movie on google trying to find out how they made the blood splatter like that or how that monster made a noise. it’s even better when the movie is bad, it increases how endearing it is to me by 110%.

i watched hellraiser on halloween a few years ago WITH MY FATHER. 😭 it was awkward to say the least. and it’s not even like he didn’t know what happens in that movie anyways because it was another one we had on dvd or vhs which he’s watched many times before.

i still haven’t rewatched alien because i remember how scared i was of it as a kid 😭 it’s traumatised me along with the krillitane from dr who and the rat from fantastic mr fox…
