Truly cannot tell if my desire to sleep until I cannot sleep anymore is fatigue from my grueling work schedule that I endured while having a cold or The Depression. Too bad I have to keep working and can’t find out!

Another low blow today. I’m really starting to think living is not for me. Like I feel like I’m coming up on the final straw. Two of the newest places I applied for turned me down at the start of the week.

Roommate is being petty and starting arguments over stupid shit.

And now the I have realized a folder with hundreds of files did not make the move to the new computer and by now would have been wiped. I’m hoping something might be on my old laptop, but fuck if I know.

I’m emotionally spent. I can’t even cry even though I want to.

This year has been shit. My life feels like it falling apart. I hate this. I just want to be happy.

hey guys… we all know that it’s okay for mithrun to have a caretaker for the rest of his life, right? that even after he heals and potentially regains his desires he will probably still need support?? that the goal of healing is not to become a “normal person”, but to build skills to navigate the world in a way that accommodates your disability??? that relying on the people around you is not a failure, but proof of your desire to live????

The funny thing about the PJO cabin system is that everyone's always all 'oh the twelve' this and 'the twelve' that but that's absolutely not even remotely accurate. To start, right off the bat it's thirteen, not twelve, because they don't count Hades. But not really because before Percy, there were no big three kids, so we're down to ten active cabins already but it's actually eight because Artemis and Hera don't make demigods.

And of those eight, Mr. D is stuck at camp (thus not really making new demigods all that often) and his only two kids don't even sleep in a cabin, they sleep in the Big House with him.

So, pre-Percy, there are seven active cabins at Camp Half-Blood:

Glee club, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Geeks, the Farmers, the 'Sketchy Kids' and the Popular Kids.

Or, in other words, the Apollo, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Demeter, Hermes (and the unclaimed kids) and Aphrodite cabins.

What's cool is that you can already see the cabin dynamics in the show. For example, the Athena cabin allies with the Hermes cabin for the numbers. The Hermes kids plus all the unclaimed kids? It's the biggest cabin in the camp by far. It's a battle strategy. Luke and Annabeth's close relationship is just the cherry on top for Annabeth. It'll be really cool to see how the show develops the differences in the cabins during the series.

to me he's like. childhood trauma. massive father issues. malnourished as a kid, so he was bullied in primary school because he was smaller than everyone else and sullen and quiet. growth spurt in his midteens, suddenly towering over everyone and filling out fast. leaves home early and becomes a butcher's apprentice. when he can finally afford to eat, he feeds himself well. will skimp out on everything else except food. unquestionably loyal to his brother until his unfortunate and untimely passing. joins the military after that trauma. put on a lot of muscle and weight when he started eating 3-4 square meals a day.

as an adult: bulldoggish. his way or the highway. blunt. curt. cynical. short tempered. intensely independent, but exceedingly loyal to the few people he puts his trust in. taciturn. doesn't reveal a lot about himself because his whole life has been a series of let downs; he has no desire to be vulnerable because it literally leaves a bad taste in his mouth. shrewd. a bit vain (he knows what he's good at and he knows what he looks like). inflexible; it takes a lot to change his point of view. respects loyalty and strength above anything else. aloof, but single minded when something catches his eye. not bloodthirsty, but violent. incredibly self-disciplined and resourceful. not a people person. will take whatever he wants.

I think it would really benefit people to internalize that mental illnesses are often chronic and not acute. Some of us will never be able to jump the hurdle of managing illness, much less sustaining a sense of normalcy. Many of us will never "recover," will never manage symptoms, will never even come close to appearing normal - and this is for any condition, even the ones labeled as "simple" disorders or "easy-to-manage" disorders.

It isn't a failure if you cannot manage your symptoms. It isn't a moral failure, and you aren't an awful person. You are human. There's only so much you can do before recognizing that you cannot lift the world. Give yourself the space to be ill because, functionally, you are.
